To start this brand new season of Lige 1 we have...Beorun on the top of the table?

Not to say Beorun don't deserve so they have been playing quite well but there is an underperforming team that's missing from the top 4. Birivistice has again gone out to a very slow start, thankfully it is only the start of the season so they have time to come back. At least that is what one would say if last season did not start the same and resulted in Birivistice getting 3rd in a 2 club title race. You would think after losing the title in humiliating fashion last year (conceding a goal against a club with literally nothing to play for) there would be a sense of urgency but no, it's not here right now. Disgraceful.

In Beorun's case the attack has been coming on strong and it's possible they have shrugged off the mental mistakes that plagued them in the past. Although one still has to wonder if they will crack when the pressure is on them to maintain a lead. They have all of the tools to make a run right now from the developed defense to the very good bordering on elite attack but the manager is the real question right now. If the blow their chance at an IFCF this time there is no turning back, heads will roll.

Auprussia NF have started like everyone has figured they would start. The front 3 is getting on very well and the defense has stayed solid albeit with dips in form here and there. Ayla Entezam is a standout performer again along with Iowa-Burroughs who has been a stellar playmaker from the back. The only real concerning result is a 3-3 draw to one of the worst Noechatel Athletike sides in recent memory but that could just be a bad day at the office so to speak. Not to mention they are within striking distance to first place already so there's no real worry from Auprussia NF.

Pontmeosont back in to the top 4 after last years' lacking campaign is a good sign that the team is competitive and can get back to the IFCF competitions. What is not a good sign is losing 1-0 to Alandroite at home for seemingly zero reason. This is what bit them last year when during their incredible IFCF run to the knockout stages they would drop points to teams that are substantially worse than them. As noted before if this does continue it's another season without IFCF football and that could spell trouble going into next season.

Lorent Cardinaux being in the top 4 isn't as surprising as one would think. Yes losing Ariou Adalrisse does hurt but the team still has enough quality to compete for an IFCF spot. The more pressing issue is that their playmaking DM in Briganteun has not been doing well as of late. Rumor is a nagging injury but Cardinaux has still started him in most of the games. Cardinaux are potentially playing with fire in hopes of not getting burned which does not bode well moving forward.

Origones and Morgavin are habitual overperformers at this point being very competitive with top teams in Lige 1. Origones especially has shown to have a very good defensive unit allowing the least amount of goals so far drawing with Alandroite. Alandrotie themselves have been overperforming as well with a team and a system that is odd. 4-2-4 is not a formation you see everyday at a professional level but has managed to keep the club afloat for the most part. VS Frisia is the most shocking placement so far as they are right outside the IFCF spots with a team that you could surmise as Borba and Chavez with spare parts. Frisia seems to be improved but they are not going to compete for a title this season.

In the relegation race Prus Ostrogia is at the very, very bottom but...they've been more unlucky than bad. If one of their draws had been a win they would be certainly out of the drop but that's not the reality. Ostissiennes and Ostrogia Arca have 0 excuses as to how they are at the drop when De Guirre and Alandroite are way worse teams, especially with De Guirre's defensive record. Ostissiennes especially should be mentioned here as they have allowed the most goals in the league even with a better defense. That's the real sticking point here, Ostissiennes attack is genuinely pretty good but being shackled to one of the worst defensive units in the league must be disheartening.

TASSE DU AUPRUSSIA NASIONAL ROUND OF 64

After last year's Tasse Du Auprussia Nasional finals the uneven nature of the format had led to the Auprus Fosball Federasion (AFF) reformating the competition so that the 1st National round includes Lige 1 and Lige 2 teams and rounds out to 64 teams. City and Regional rounds also formatted to create an even amount of teams to fill the Round of 64. After the round of 32 there will be a redraw and the bracket will proceed as normal.

16 games into the season and Beorun is warding off the challenge of Auprussia NF quite admirably. Even with the loss to Auprussia NF 1-0 they have managed to clean up their form to stay on top of the table. The attack is quite good but the defense is a bit shaky. It is middle of the pack but middle of the pack may not be enough to ward off Auprussia NF for long. Bertrando Gentile is having a good season along with Rohel Valaude on the attack and the midfield has come along nicely. Beorun probably wont win the title but it may do nicely for their confidence if they achieve top 4.

Auprussia NF is keeping up with Beorun and has defeated Beorun at home. There are some issues though, like dropping points to VS Frisia...at home or losing to a weaker Angevines side...at home. Yeah this probably needs to be addressed but Auprussia NF's home form is leaving a lot to be desired. A lot of missed opportunities to take the top of the table could be a bit of a concern. At the very least Beorun has not pulled away with the lead so Auprussia NF has time to catch up but the head scratching results need to stop now.

Eolorent has surged to 3rd place with a good attack but a very, very middling defense. A stark contrast from last year's stout unit it seems like Charles Delaire was unsettled by his listing in the Transfer Window as he has not done well so far. Eolorent dropping points to Prus Ostissia is not too concerning considering that is the only weird result for the club so far. Thankfully Denise Auburn and Partelu Joard are a great striking pair or else they probably are outside of the IFCF spots again. 2 points behind 1st place is also quite a nice position if they do make a title charge.

Lorent Cardinaux is holding on quite well. Maria Ajdis is no Ariou Adalrisse but there is certainly potential there. The real star of the show for Cardinaux is the defense which is a stark contrast to last season's high-flying Cardinaux team. It is a welcome change of pace for the club but there is a bit of unease around if the defense can keep up the form. Draws against Alandroite and Angevines also put into light how this team struggles with putting away games as well. Keep an eye on this team.

Alexia and Origones are the outliers here. Newly promoted Alexia has very stout defense to thank as well as young striker Huberdeau Audac who has gone off to a red hot start. Not to mention Alexia has decent results against clubs like Birivistice and Angevines. It seems like the club always gets up for big matches which bodes well for their chances for survival. Origones has been solid all season. The attack has been doing very well and the defense is middling but holding on. That is all Origones really need to make an impact on the season. Will Origones make an IFCF charge in the future? It seems like they are on their way.

Pontmeosont has slowed down a bit but do not be fooled, they have an incredible attack again due to their younger pieces developing nicely. Along with Piguenit and Mirdeau turning out to be excellent partners in crime and the defense has finally been somewhat solid; a weakness that has haunted them before. Freja Olsen and Tayshaun Rodgers have made sure that the center of the defense is solid along with Argelou and Cheledonne improving their defensive game as well. This team is going to make an IFCF charge for sure.

Most disappointing team so far has to be Birivistice. This may be their worst start ever in Lige 1 and one word encapsulates it: Draws. Draws everywhere. 8 out of 16 games ending in a draw which doesn't seem like an issue until you realize that they are only 3 points away from the drop. 3 points away from the drop DOES NOT WORK for a club like Birivistice and frustrations are mounting.

De Guirre being at the bottom of the league is no surprise. Their defense is completely awful and it means that their surprisingly competent attack usually has to overcome 2-3 goal deficits which makes winning games and gaining points tremendously hard. There isn't a really good solution either, they have to figure it out very soon or drop out of Lige 1. Lorent Arca has bottomed out as well which is very concerning. They have been terrible in the league and it may be Achampou's job soon. If Lorent Arca is still in this position midway through the season Achampou may be the first manager fired this season and that may result in Lorent Arca being relegated with a team that shouldn't really be this bad.

Over halfway through the Lige 1 season and some interesting developments have occurred.

Auprussia NF has finally overtaken Beorun by 2 points however a bitter defeat against Origones still leaves the door open for plenty of teams to catch up and overtake however, Auprussia NF still has the best defense in the league and one of the best attacks as well making the climb an uphill battle in many respects.

The more pressing news is that Origones Auprus have been on a heater as of recently. Unbeaten in the last 8 games with as stellar of a defense as you can get in Lige 1 has certainly taken many by surprise. Federonise Alord has been incredible during this stretch (especially with great passing) allowing Jamey Longworth and Lor Prestegons to flourish this season. The fact Origones are already competing for an IFCF spot bodes well for their future.

Angevines have managed to comeback from their very mediocre start and take an IFCF spot even beating IFCF rivals Pontmeosont in the process. Birivistice has slowly but slowly made a comeback to top 4 contention but the ridiculously slow start is still hampering their progress. Lorent Cardinaux and Eolorent are just outside of the mix for now but one good run could prove to be vital to their IFCF chances.

The real story is Alexia. Newly promoted but showing their mettle halfway through the season. The front 3 of Lithobert-Collins-Audac have been exceeding expectations leaving Alexia almost ahead of schedule in certain regards. The feeling in Alexia was that they could survive and that they would have to develop and acquire more talent to compete but it has certainly not panned out that way. The midfield and defense have also held up solidly in the face of the top teams as well.

In terms of the relegation race Lorent Arca are still embarrasingly at the bottom of the league being both unable to score and defend due to an aging core and being tactically outclassed by other clubs. Ironically the team that is most likely to survive is De Guirre. A very competent attack does wonders for clubs in Lige 1 and De Guirre has the ability to score. Their defense is the issue and if they can clean that up they could survive.

Alandroite has also clawed their way to survival but it is on shaky ground. The attack is very disjointed and lacking in a lot of places. The defense is essentially De Guirre's without the attack to support it. The club has been very lucky to not be in the drop zone despite uninspiring play.

Some other interesting developments include VS Frisia being very competitive with the rest of Lige 1 with a very good attack led by Bergskauld Chiedt and Thiago Borba. Ostrogia Arca still being able to keep their mid-table status despite losing talent. Prus Ostissia being the biggest disappointment in Ostissia since...last season's Prus Ostissia team. Noechatel Athletike being on the decline after butchering the Drac Mortonaif situation so bad they released him and it consequentially affecting the attack is also some sweet karmic justice even if it is of little comfort to Mortonaif himself.

Auprussia NF has held on to first place yet again but still cannot shake off any challengers. Having beat back Lorent Cardinaux and Origones is at least a start but failures like the loss to Morgavin away can still sting. If last year was any indication dropping points like that can put you at risk at the top of the table. Brandsdottir is notably having a great run of games having more goal contributions than even Ayla Entezam. The defense has also been incredible during this time with Jose Barajas being their best defender. Allison Iowa-Borroughs has also proven to be an effective playmaker at the DM position with very effective passing thus being one of the best signings of the season.

Now you might be thinking "so who's capable of challenging them?" and the answer is....Origones?
When you look at Origones it's a fine team and club but nothing really should wow you on the team sheet but the defense has come in handy multiple times. Combine that with the new life that was given to the attack thanks to Zlatko Katušić and Federonise Alord's incredible form it starts to make sense why this team finds itself at second place. Aupalice is a NIGHTMARE to play in and it showed when they defeated Birivistice 3-1. Jamey Longworth has also come along nicely as well.

Pontmeosont is back in the top 4 and scoring at an incredible rate again. Piguenit and Mirdeau have made for a nightmarish front duo for defenses to stop along with the midfield's amazing playmaking ability and it's not just about Nina Levitt or Darrick Lenedeont either, of all midfielders to come up with their best season so far nobody thought Mateo Veldeseau would be making much of a difference but something has change about his approach to the game. Mateo's passing has gotten better and he has been winning the ball a lot more frequently which has made clubs have to play away from him. Freja Olsen has also proven to be a good defender and has held the unit together even though sometimes the defense gets left out to dry by the ultra-aggressive attack.

Crawling back from the dead yet again is Birivistice. The new signings did take some time to get going but now they have put together a pretty good run of form which has taken Birivistice back to the top 4 but this is still well below expectations. As mentioned before they lost to another IFCF contender in Origones 3-1 which had put a damper on a lot of things. Their luck at LB also ran out as the young Edelaie Maurivice needs more development (even though they are still solid defensively). Luckily Abigail Kay's leadership has pulled this club together (it also helps that Dobrynina and Ardin are finally doing well). This season will be looked upon with disappointment that is for sure.

Lorent Cardinaux and Beorun are right in the running for the Top 4 as well but Beorun's form...goodness. It is BAD right now. Finishing this part of the season with 3 out of 4 losses and losing the IFCF spot to Birivistice does not bode well for their chances. Lorent Cardinaux is also clawing back to the IFCF spots with the help of the defense this time. Ajdis has done well enough to make the race for top 4 interesting as well to much of the appreciation of the fans. Ajdis is however a stark contrast to Adalrisse, a more charismatic and pacey striker (with some flair) as opposed to the physical and much more imposing Adalrisse.

Eolorent has had a disappointing season and it's more than likely manager Ruseau Giesont will be fired at the end of the season. Failure of this magnitude with this starting roster is unacceptable according to ownership.

Alandroite and De Guirre hanging on for this long is a pretty incredible achievement but that could be an indictment on Lorent Arca and ESPECIALLY Salvienne AN. After a pretty good season last year Salvienne has fallen off something fierce. The injuries do have a lot to do with it but it really is just the results. The defense isn't particularly bad like De Guirre's for instance but yet they cannot grind out any results. Lorent Arca is on the same boat but with an incredibly awful attack and bad morale to boot.

That should be the title done and dusted. Auprussia NF earning 8 wins in a row all but seals the deal on the title race. Stand out performances by Ariana Brandsdottir, Ayla Entezam and Allison Iowa-Burroughs as well as the defensive wall known as Jose Barajas have given Auprussia NF their second title in a row barring a HISTORIC collapse. The race for top 4 is also pretty solid as well with both Pontmeosont and Origones 4 points up on Birivistice.

Meanwhile Birivistice has to fend off Angevines, Lorent Cardinaux and Beorun to keep their place in the IFCF spots. Birivistice is up there with some of the most disappointing clubs this season but not the most disappointing. That "honor" goes to Eolorent who are in the mid-table right now below a newly-promoted Alexia and a surprisingly on form Ostrogia Arca. Truly legendary stuff. It's obvious that Giseont is gone after this season but that does lead to the question: Who else?

Surprisingly Ostrogia Arca can still get into international play, they have to win Tasse Du Auprussia to do it but it is not exactly unheard of. Ostrogia Arca in the Cup Winners' Cup and in FFI competition...that would be something alright. VS Frisia is one of the more surprising teams this season. Lucas Chavez and Thiago Borba have been doing very well and while the defense is still lacking it has improved since last season. Not to mention the midfield is surprisingly very good, not bad for a team who just escaped relegation last season.

Speaking of Relegation there is no doubt on who is dropping down, Lorent Arca and Salvienne AN have been HORRIBLE and deserve to go down. After that is where it gets interesting. Alandroite can still survive and bring down Ostissiennes, their hardest game left on the schedule is Birivistice at home and they have plenty of winnable games such as against VS Frisia or Prus Ostissia. It will be interesting to see where they are at the end of the season.

It's the end of the season and Auprussia NF predictably finished off the title race in style after matchweek 32 no other team could really catch up in time. It is possibly the best Auprussia NF side of all time but that is of little comfort to the 3 other clubs in the IFCF spots. Birivistice while gaining second place is quite possibly the most disappointing club at this moment. 6.5 million to not even be in the title race while teams that didn't even spend that much like Pontmeosont or Origones gained similary results. There is much to be done over at Birivistice and it could mean painful exits.

Pontmeosont has found their duo up front, a great midfield, and they have pieces of the defense that could be built around but it's more than likely they need to change their ultra-aggressive attacking style. There were points lost because the defense were left out to dry against an impressive counter-attack or on set pieces when the physicality of other clubs overrode the defense. There is something here though and if they can continue the momentum it is more than possible that they win a title down the line. The more disappointing aspect of the season for Pontmeosont is losing in the Tasse Du Auprussia finals to archrival Eolorent after blowing a 3-1 lead. That stung badly because the last time Pontmeosont was here they lost to Lorent Cardinaux and started that club on their path of success.

Origones is not supposed to be here. No way that this club is this good this quickly. Federonise Alord found incredible form and carried it to the rest of the season, Lor Prestegons has proven he is good enough for any team looking for an IFCF push. Jamey Longworth the young striker from Xanneria is a very promising prospect especially if this form continues. In the estimation of everyone though the best player on the team is Zlatko Katušić, yes he is very young and has had some dire performances but when he is on top of his game not a single attacking midfielder can replicate what he can do in Lige 1. Still, the club could be a one season wonder.

Angevines still has the pieces to compete for the top spots, it's no secret that they are looking to improve the midfield and maybe find a backup or replacement for one of their 2 starting forwards. The real lesson Angevines needs to learn this season is that slow starts kill, and they had an unbelievably slow start.

Eolorent by their standards had a failure of a season with one redeeming quality. Defeating archrival Pontmeosont in a cup final to get international paly for the first time ever is a very good ending for a season so...dour and depressing. Giseont is definitely gone after this season and the new manager is probably going to have to adapt their tactics to the roster for the first couple of seasons. The roster seems good enough for an IFCF push but they need a new voice in the locker room for sure.

Looking at the relegation teams not a single one of them deserved anything else. A truly shameful performance by Lorent Arca who's quality should have been enough for survival. Alandroite is now the proverbial yo-yo club and Salvienne AN was just TERRIBLE after their groundbreaking season last year. Truly shamful.

The teams to look out for next season that could make some noise though? Very interesting that VS Frisia as predicted is starting to build up after surviving in Lige 1 last year. Alexia is a sleeping giant waiting to wake up and start dominating like in the distant past. Lorent Cardinaux has to be pleased about one thing: Maria Ajdis is a good striker but they need to build around her and fast. Ostrogia Arca has been lurking in the top half of tables for years as well plus the deep run in the Tasse Du Auprussia means that they have the roster to compete and most likely the resources. It will be interesting to see which teams make moves in the Transfer Window this season.
