Sylestone is a tropical island nation located in the region of Esportiva. The nation is home to 25 million people and sentient objects who are sure to welcome your national side and supporters to the country. Being a wonderful tourist destination, there are many things to do in off days, including going to the world-class beaches, rainforests, reefs and of course the amazing resort of Felton Island. The nation also has a reasonably high level of technology that ought to make everyone feel comfortable, as well as an efficient transport system. The economy is unsurprisingly run by the tourism industry, although the dairy and agriculture industries are significant in size.

Sylestone is roughly 750,000km square and generally takes about twelve hours to travel by car from Dunkirk in the northwest to Kirkham in the southeast. However, it will only take two if travelling by aeroplane and ten if catching a train. A physical map of Sylestone will be found below and we hope you enjoy your stay in paradise.

Image

Dangers
Sylestone may be beautiful, but like many tropical countries, it is not without its dangers. The nation is full of snakes, spiders, jellyfish, big cats and many other deadly predators. Also watch the Mwimbi Bimbi fruit that will kill if touched, let alone swallowed. It looks like an ordinary plum but with thorns on the stem. Remember to watch out for elves in the Melville Rainforest surrounding Emacuton and Chamberley, they will kill anyone who seems to cause disunity. And whatever you do, do not offend the sentient objects of Kirkham…

Four venues across the nation will be in use for this tournament. They are as follows:

Chamberley Cricket Ground (CCG), Chamberley
Capacity: 86,000
Games: Group A, MD 1-3, Final
About: Despite being primarily used for cricket, the nation’s national sport, this ground can also be used for Aussie Rules football. The stadium is located right by the beach and it is not uncommon to see professional sports players having a swim after a match. However, do not miss Felton Island, a famous tourist resort off the coast, the reefs and the rainforests that surround Chamberley.

Arena of Sentients, Kirkham
Capacity: 23,000
Games: Group A, MD 4-5, Quarterfinal
About: Located in the same sporting complex as Sentient Oval, the Arena of Sentients is a smallish stadium located in the centre of Kirkham. But the beauty of the place is the fact that it is home to the sentient objects of Sylestone. Stoves, microwaves, you name it. You’ll find them here. We hope y’all in Group A will enjoy this place!

Capital Stadium, Avondale
Capacity: 100,000
Games: Group B, MD 1-3, Semifinal
About: The largest Aussie Rules stadium in the country, Capital Stadium is a massive ground among the world’s great ones. Located in the capital, there is much to do, including visiting the many landmarks Avondale is famous for, such as the Chivalton Reef, Avondale Zoo and Mount Gobble.

Merindah Stadium, Betham
Capacity: 37,000
Games: Group B MD 4-5, Quarterfinal
About: As it seems to be the theme with Betham sporting stadiums, Merindah Stadium is located near the seaside in the suburb of Merindah. It is reasonably large, although looks small compared to the Bay Reserve. The stadium is quite cramped, so any noise made will be amplified. The atmosphere is electric and players almost always enjoy playing here.

We hope everyone enjoys their stay!

Welcome, gentlebeings, into the beautiful Royal Federated Territories and Disputed Territories of Mathuvan Union, in no correlation to the Soviet Union!
The Mathuvan Archipelago, home to the Mathuvan Union, a series of hundreds of islands incorporated into a (maybe) benevolent dictatorship. The average temperature is -1,000 according to our Meteorologist, but is actually around 23. The pink-sand peaches are a delight to walk on, and you can even occasionally see the Rare Mathuvan Dark-Spotted Sea Lion hanging out!
At most matches, you will find the Kaiser, Kaiser Ferdinand I, who probably shouldn't be drinking at age 60, having a swig of Kaiserliche Whiskey, made from purely Mathuvan resources in the Weastek Region of the Archipelago. the Kaiser has a beautiful spectating box and will shoot you if he doesn't like you!

Stadee De Real - Real-Corona, Stadium Capacity 2.
There are only seats for the royals in the Stadee De Real, for unknown reasons but we have a magnificently weird royal family. off the pitch is a wooden fence You must stand outside that fence or the Kaiser shoots you. He likes this deal.

Camp Neo - Northston Upon St. George, Stadium Capacity 78,000
In this luxuriously magnificent stadium, it has the most modern tech. Mysteriously, beers appear even after you've said 'just one more' making the stadium well known for it's riots, particularly the one that sparked to War of the Banana after a dictator from Bigtopia had his banana stolen.

Behind the free market lies the iron fist of the state - the one thing I learned from The Blaatschapen, excluding how to say sheep in dutch.
Update: apparently it’s bleating sheep.

Aussie rules team for Hebitaka

Aussie rules(called Footy) in Hebitaka
Aussie rules football, generally called Footy in Hebitaka is a sport played widely in this country. This country also has it's own League for this sport. Footy, first played long back as independent friendly rather than general tournaments, was thought to be failure in front of the Rugby Union. And it was unsuccessful for the first few years as a tournament, but things change after the seventh season. In the eighth season the footy league was done in the Rugby union offseason. Even though it was quite hard, but Hebitaka being a tropical country, the season was great and earned success as their major competition, the Union Championship was at rest back then. Now the Footy league is one of the most famous leagues in Hebitaka.

Aussie Rules National Team Kriegiersien

This sport is, like many non Olympic sports, on an amateur level in Kriegiersien. The team send to the World Cup consists out of the Rugby Sevens National team (Defense), players of the reigning champion Scorpion City Kangaroos (Midfield) and Association Football players, Strikers from the Soccer Champion Timesteam (Forwards).
They have now to find a way to play together under the legendary coach Crush Bandycoot.

For a nation where nudity is mandatory, clothes are always a nice surprise. Kriegiersien comes as always in their black Olympic rags.. jerseys.

Ko-oren's EAGLES at the Second Aussie Rules World Cup

Why the Eagles? In absence of players from the central bits of Ko-oren, and as long as Aussie Rules isn't that popular in those areas at all, the team has opted for Eagles over Dragonflies.
Colours: Brown, with green and blue trim. Away: White, with brown trim (and green and blue elements).
Which languages are spoken by this team? About half of the team speaks the rarest language within the Ko-orenite language family: Tarrashall. The rest speaks Mawr (a Gaelic language). A small minority speaks English, French, Gehrenna, or Dutch. The names of the players should speak for themselves.

Some players play in the East ARL - an amateur league taking place east of the mountains, which is to say, 90% of the country.

The Daily Boing

Pre-Tournament Predictions

Australian Rules World Cup II is just around the corner, and everyone at the Daily Boing is super excited. Will Baggieland go one step further and be crowned champions of the world? Will Sarzonia retain their crown? Will a new-comer come along and cause an upset? Here, we give our pre-tournament predictions.

The Big Four
Sarzonia (1)
Baggieland (2)
Sylestone (2)
Ko-oren (4)

These four teams conquered all before them in ARWC I. Sarzonia only lost to Ko-oren in the group stages. Baggieland only lost to Sarzonia, twice – once in the group stages and again in the final. Sylestone only lost one game; to Baggieland in the semi-finals. Ko-oren only lost twice; in the group stages against Baggieland and in the semi-finals against Sarzonia. Most pundits will be backing one of these teams to be crowned champions by the end of the tournament.

The Heirs to the Throne
TJUN-ia (6)
HUElavia (7)
Megistos (8)

These three teams had a decent ARWC I, with the experience they gained from the first tournament plus the training and practice they've put in since then, they will all be looking to improve in ARWC II. Don't discount these teams; they could easily upset one of the 'big four' and go on to lift the trophy.

The Cannon Fodder
Mathuvan Union (11)
Alice Bay (11)

These two teams had a disappointing ARWC I. They both managed just one win from their six group matches, however, no doubt these two teams have also improved since then. Mathuvan Union will also have home advantage as one of the hosts and a passionate crowd getting behind their team will be difficult to cope with for some teams.

Baggieland will be hoping to top this group, with the hosts Mathuvan Union, being the only team likely to cause them any trouble.

Sylestone drawn into Group A for second ARWC

Postby Sylestone » Mon Nov 02, 2020 12:17 am

Sylestone, cohosts of the second Aussie Rules World Cup, have been drawn into Group A. The group doesn't look too hard, but Sylestone cannot get complacent. That would mean near-certain loss. But maybe some different lineups could be tried to get the best out of the players against some of the weaker teams. It's hard to know.

Megistos
The pot 2 side in the group is Megistos. This would generally mean that they would be a big challenge. Don't get me wrong, they will be, but history never lies. In the quarterfinals of the last ARWC, Sylestone absolutely slaughtered the Megistians, 227-26 in one of the biggest results of the entire competition. If this is the level of a Pot 2 side, who knows how well we can do against the others. But then again, never get complacent.

Rwekazaland
Relatively unknown in the sporting multiverse, Rwekazaland could well be a bag of surprises in the second Aussie Rules WC. They will undoubtedly be a force to be reckoned with, but not something Sylestone shouldn't be able to easily take down. It will be interesting to see what happens.

Zodis Ceres
Zodis Ceres is a side that has sent a decent-looking team to the second ARWC. However, it is unknown whether they will perform as it is their first-ever international outing in any sport. The only other competition they are currently signed up to is the CMFA, Melayu Archipelago's regional football competition. But they seem to be passionate, so they will not be easy.

Northwest Kalactin
The last team in Group A, Northwest Kalactin are one of the most well-known sides throughout the NationStates Sporting Multiverse to participate in this competition. They haven't yet announced their roster, but we can assure you that it will likely be a strong one. whether it will be good enough to give the Hawthorns a run for their money remains to be seen, but these guys will very likely not be a pushover.

Although the group itself should be relatively comfortable to top, all sides will show some sort of strength in their game against the Hawthorns. Can one pull off a shock win and disrupt the Sylestoneans chances? Wait and see!

Footy Watch: Time For Glory, I Guess!

Postby TJUN-ia » Tue Nov 03, 2020 12:35 pm

Image

Name: TJUN-ia
Trigram: TJU
Nickname: Jaguars or Jags
Governing Body: TJUN-ia Association of Australian-rules Football (TJUN-ia-AAF/TAAF/"the TAAFy")
Home Colours: Light Blue/Orange
Away Colours: Orange/Light Blue
Clash Colours: Black/Dark Orange

Finally, we have returned. Footy is back for the 2nd Aussie Rules World Cup and TJUN-ia, including the TAAFy itself, have some business to do. In the first ARWC, the Jaguars were a team of highs and lows as one of the original 14 teams that turned up to Baggieland to fight for the first Modern Aussie Rules Football Championship. After a 3rd place finish in the group and some high-scoring blowouts, it all fell apart against Sylestone in the Quarterfinals. Now, Sylestone is hosting the 2nd edition alongside the Mathuvan Union and the field is larger too. The original 14 is down to 9 but with 11 new faces wanting to try out the sport, 2 groups of 7 just became 4 groups of 5. As the 6th best nation in Footy, can TJUN-ia claim their first international crown in the Union? We shall see...

TEAM
Manager: David Scott (46)
Assistant Manager: Alex Noongar-Wardandi (32)

After following TJUN-ian teams of old in sending a few mates to coach the national team in the aim of finding a leader among them, it had to be a UO-er who would get the honour of managing the Jags. That man turned out to be David Scott, a coach famous in for his passive-aggressive coaching style and a bit of an Australian flair many fans of the sport will like. All great leaders need an assistant, so the TAAFy chose someone not many people were expecting: a man of Aboriginal Australian descent. Alex Noongar-Wardani is from the Wardani people of Noongar, a region in Australia's southwest that includes the city of Perth. You don't really see Aboriginal representation in TJUN-ian sports but with the inclusion of Alex as assistant manager, the TAAFy hope to promote further representation of the people within TJUN-ian society.

The first order of business for the new leadership was choosing a captain to lead the side on the field and to may, there was only one option. Steven Cox, from the Amerika Penninsula, had become a household name after his performances in Baggieland and first big star of TJUN-ian Aussie Rules. He seemed to be the perfect man to lead this side and, with a whole nation on his shoulders, he will try to lead the Jags to glory for the first time ever.

The Daily Boing

Baggieland off to Storming Start

Baggieland 28.13.181 def. Mathuvan Union 6.10.46

Baggieland began their quest to go one better than they did in ARWC I with a convincing win over Mathuvan Union. The game was played at the Mathuvan Union's magnificent stadium, so magnificent that they haven't named it yet. There was a fanatical crowd gathered inside, that included the Mathuvan Union's Kaiser and they made for an intimidating atmosphere for the visiting Throstles. However, as the game kicked off, the visitors domination of the game soon silenced the home crowd.

At the end of the first quarter the Throstles had kicked an amazing seven goals without reply from the Bulldogs. The home side fought back a bit during the second quarter, and the half-time score of 10.10.70 to 5.5.35 gave Mathuvan Union some hope of getting something from the game.

Alas, that second quarter comeback was the highlight of the game for the Bulldogs. The second half saw the Throstles put in an almost perfect display of footy kicking 18.3.111 to 1.5.11, sending the travelling support into delirium. Dunstall, as he did in ARWC I, led the scoring by kicking eight of the team's goals, but with the other twenty goals being shared around, the Throstles have shown that the whole team is capable of getting the goals during this tournament.

It was a day of finding.
Image

The quests:

Finding the way to the stadium.
Coach and bus driver Bandycoot:
“There was no indication where Group D would be played, so half of Sylestone had to be searched. It was a nice sightseeing tour and we learned much about the fauna and flora, landmarks and the people, who we had to ask to find the way and to help repairing the tour bus after an accident. Some nice blokes.
And then we found out that we are at the wrong place at all and ... the story how we did get to Mathuvan is really interesting and funny. However. We did play against Ko-oren, so we must have been at the right place in the end.”

Finding an understanding for math.
For Soccer player Thilo Ziegler understanding how the score works ended after a short try to remember his math lessons:
“I played soccer the most time instead of going to class. Maybe I should have listened to what happened there. After the game I was told we had lost. I didn't got that from the numbers standing on the scoreboard. Kriegiersien 13.2.80. Ko-oren 23.15.153. Hm.”

Finding a way to understand the game.
Saoul Bastian, one of the best young Rugby players of his generation:
“The field is huuuuuge. I didn’t expect so much running. And kicking is soooo imba.”

Finding a team spirit:
Callum Price, captain of the Kriegiersien Aussie Rules champion Scorpion City Kangaroos:
“I don’t get it why they had to drag in players from other sports to replace our best forwards and defenders? They maybe should have gotten Marathon runners, because these soccer dudes and rugby players are complaining that the playing field is so big. Violet help us.”

Finding happiness:
Liam Magrath, Topscorer for Kriegiersien in the match:
“We did find a really good bar and that helped for the spirit, at least me. Burp.”

Finding a way to win
Failed

The new main Quest:

Finding a way to win against TJUN-ia.
And the second match is directly against the next ranked team in the group and already a win or die situation. Or the championship is more or less over before it really started.

The (Sometimes) Daily Kaiserliche
Match review against Baggieland
The bulldogs, or the ballgods as the kaiser paid us to say wait I wasn't supposed to say that cut that out please editor, unsurprisingly, got blown apart.
On the way to the stadium
it was heard quoted that star centre forward Tobei McClein spoke out against the kaiser. as is typically the norm, during the match, mysteriously the bloke collapsed and had to be rushed away in an unmarked van. We have not heard from anyone on the matter yet.

After the Match
Several players were heard groaning, one player even demanding the referee give a baggieland defender the red card, before being informed that this wasn't a soccer pitch. He was found later crying about the size of the pitch.
many of the star Kaiserliche players have mysteriously disappeared, and Mathuvan Aussie Rules Federation Head Coach Jerry McBerry was seen praying to violet.

Overall: We shit.
