NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM - WOMEN'S

This is the twenty-eighth time that Abanhfleft will participate in the World Cup qualifiers, and the fourteenth time that the women's team have represented the Democratic Republic on their own. While the Lady Revolutionaries were unable to defend their Jenna Raven Cup, they were at least able to claim victory in the third place playoff, so surely that has to mean something in the qualifiers, right?

STARTERS
GK: Inocencia PENDERGRAFT 31 y/o, Ogovlich Medusas

Inocencia (or Ina for short because let's face it, Ina is much easier to say that Inocencia) is a good goalkeeper by most metrics. However, poor passing skills and the fact that her pace is pretty unsatisfactory in an era of sweepers pretty much kept her rooted to her current club in the second tier of the Fleftic Women's Premier League. She is pretty much expected to stick to staying inside her box as much as possible as she doesn't want her lack of pace to be exposed even more than it already is.

RB: Ilda FAUSTI 31 y/o, Uthilmir United

Ilda Fausti is, for all intents and purposes, a very good defender. She has good pace and can quickly recover from a situation where she might get caught out, and her stamina is in such an excellent state that she can cover the entire right flank for the entirety of the ninety minutes and still have enough to spare. The only thing she can't really do is score a goal, and that's not really part of the description of being a fullback, is it?

RCB: Rose BANE 32 y/o, Uthilmir United

Rose is perhaps the only member of the defense in that under-18 team in the 13th Under-18 World Cup who managed to escape that collapse with her reputation still fairly intact. Her reward for this is gaining a starting spot in the women's national team for the Jenna Raven/Women's World Cup. Rose generally has a good defensive head on her but is still often overcome by the rashness of youth. Age and experience has finally blunted her eagerness, but there are a few moments here and there where she will still go all in on that slide tackle.

LCB: Margo KAHN 32 y/o, Wanda Island Wanderers Women

On the surface, Margo looks like she's a very good defender, and to her credit, she is. It's just that the other parts of her game are very lacking, to say the least. She can't pass to her fellow center back or the goalkeeper to save her life, and once an opposing player gets past her, that's pretty much the end of Margo's defensive involvement. However, Margo is actually good in the air, and that makes her a threat in set pieces no matter who's taking them, her team or the opponent.

LB: Ashley JAXSON 30 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies

There isn't a lot that makes Ashley stand out on the pitch. She's a good defender with average stamina and adequate pace, meaning that she can patrol the left flank to her heart's content so long as she isn't exerting herself. She can even send in the occasional cross, but don't expect it to do anything but hit the first defender trying to block it, and even then, Ashley understands that that isn't really part of her job description. But Ashley does stand out on the pitch literally as the only player six feet high or above currently representing the Lady Revolutionaries in this tournament.

RM: Whitney ZILAHI 30 y/o, Sarvusdalamoive Ladies

Another player whose looks (or more accurately, what her skills look like) are very much deceiving. Whitney looks like a box-to-box midfielder to the casual observer, and it would look like she has the skills to do the job. Her stamina and pace are both excellent for the job of going back and forth between the boxes, and her passing is so formidable that she can pretty much pass the ball wherever she wants. However, all of this hides the fact that she is actually a poor defender. Then again, with an enforcer like Tatiana Tos by her side, does Whitney really need to be that good at defending?

LM: Tatiana TOS 35 y/o, Xemlice Rovers Ladies

Every team worth its salt needs an enforcer in the midfield, and Tatiana Tos is that enforcer. Tatiana was born in the Fhulghamous Peninsula but chose to represent Abanhfleft instead because the Fhulghamous' women's football program is simply woeful, to say the least. This will surely make her want to prove that she truly deserves the call-up to the senior Fleftic team. Five years on and she's still trying to prove herself as she's always been on the outside looking in. Maybe this time, she will finally prove herself to the SFA.

RW: Mae WILBANKS 32 y/o, Riuwiee United Women

Mae might just be the winger that Abanhfleft has been looking for all of these years. She has an engine that can make her go up and down the flanks for as long as she needs to, and she has those pinpoint-accurate crosses in her arsenal enabling her to find teammates in the middle of a sea of defenders. She can even get back and defend in the event of a counterattack; she's just that fast. But Mae is really at her best going down the wings and being a threat from the sides, and if she can't cross then she can just go for goal herself.

CAM: Josefine VITAGLIANO 31 y/o, Wanda Island Wanderers Women

Another bright spot in that disastrous DBC 48 campaign. Josefine would prefer to be able to become a second striker or a false 9 drifting in and out of pockets of space, and while she is still unable to do that at the moment due to tactics, at least being a central attacking midfielder puts her in a somewhat similar position. Josefine will just have to come from deeper from the field than she would like.

LW: Lily NATIVIDAD 33 y/o, Wanda Island Wanderers Women

Lily is of a similar mold to Mae Wilbanks, a creative and effective winger with the speed to come back and serve in defense if needed, but just like Mae, Lily is best utilized as an out-and-out winger who sends crosses into the box and provides a goalscoring threat for the opposition's defense to worry about. However, the one downside to Lily's game is that her stamina sucks. After playing sixty minutes, she just falls off a cliff and is barely even a player. But apart from that, she is no doubt a threat on the pitch.

ST: Hiroko KELLERMAN 33 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Women

Kellerman won the Golden Boot in the Fleftic Premier Development League 1 for Rosen City Women with a 23-goal haul in the 2028-29 season, earning her a promotion up to the senior women's team where she continued her goalscoring form with 21 goals for 2029-30, making her the highest goalscorer for the Citizens that season. She earned a call-up to the under-21 team for the 48th Di Bradini Cup, where she was one of the few bright spots in an otherwise disastrous campaign which once again convinced the SFA to boycott the Di Bradini Cup yet again. The boycott didn't last for long, but Hiroko herself has become a mainstay in the Fleftic women's team during that time, and she will continue leading the line in the Jenna Raven Cup.

THE FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF ESTORVIPA AND ESTORPIVA
NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva is a federal union between two states, the Federation of Estorvipa and the Republic of Estorpiva, created on 22 November 2019 after the two states agreed to unite together and present a combined front against the other rebel sides in the Estorian Civil War. The Federal Republic is backed by the Democratic People's Republic of the United Socialist States of Pridnestrovia (or just Pridnestrovia for short), which was an ally of the old Estorvipan People's Republic before it collapsed into numerous competing factions and states, and Pridnestrovia decided that the Federal Republic was the most stable nation-state that they could support in this war. But despite being backed by a "socialist" nation and adopting some socialist imagery, the Federal Republic is a democratic republic with free and fair elections for the 27 million people under its governance, and its ultimate aim is to reunite the Vipan and Pivan lands peacefully, but if the Federal Republic must use force to restore peace and order in the land then it will certainly do so.

An excellent keeper for his age and has loads of pace which allows him to charge out of his box to intimidate opposing strikers, but has poor stamina which means that he might start sticking around his area as the game goes on.

RB: Ruslana SAVELYEVA 26 y/o, female, FC Panticapaeum (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She is without doubt a good defender, but it's almost as if she maxed out on defending in football and forgot to put points into developing other aspects of her game. Her passing leaves a lot to be desired, her technique is poor, and her pace may as well be nonexistent. In all honesty, she should be more of a center half than a full-back, but Estoria has a surprising dearth of right backs, and she was basically the best of the rest.

RCB: Branislau SIDAROVICH 30 y/o, male, Thereisnogodistan (Abanhfleft)
He's a good defender with excellent passing, and that's about as far as his positives go. He's a capable member of a four-man back line, that much is guaranteed. But that back line must be low and as static as possible because he's a literal boulder in the middle of the pitch otherwise. That probably explains why his club fell away from the international club football places in the second half of the season, when injuries mounted up and he had to become part of the starting eleven.

LCB: Lukas KUKUMBERG 28 y/o, male, Exiles FK (Pridnestrovia)
He's reached the prime of his career, just in time to finally become part of the Federal Republic's starting eleven. Lukas is already a very good defender by pretty much any metric one could think of and still improving, and it isn't just the actual defending that's setting him apart from his peers; he also has solid pace and technique with the ball. The man pretty much has everything. Well, not everything though. His passing is actually the weakest part of his game, and by weak, it really is weak. If it's possible for someone to limp-wrist kicking a football, Lukas would be the one to prove it possible. Now he has to figure out how not to do all of that now that he's a starter for the national team.

LB: Slobodan KLADAR 29 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He is the Kladar that everyone associated with the Football Federation of the Federal Republic of Estorvipa and Estorpiva (FFREE) wanted to field in time for CAFA 9. Unfortunately, Slobodan suffered an injury that, while minor, would have ruled him out of taking part in the regional football competition anyway, resulting in the controversial callup of his older sister Bogdana. Now though, Slobodan is fully fit and rested and raring to go and represent the Federal Republic in a CAFA competition. As for how good of a defender he is, take Bogdana Kladar's skills and multiply it twice. That is how good Slobodan Kladar is.

RM: Kresimir TASIĆ 29 y/o, male, FC Cavaleri Urodorasul (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Here's a good playmaker with good passing and adequate technique. What more can someone ask of Kresimir Tasic? Some maturity and levelheadedness, it turns out. All of those aforementioned skills mean squat when he can't keep his head on his shoulders when the situation requires it. If Kresimir is angry and wants to take out an opposition player's legs, nothing will stop him, not even the knowledge of an impending red card. But in the rare times that he's actually calm, Kresimir is actually an impressive asset on the pitch. It just seems like he spends more time off it than on because of suspensions and such.

LM: Lyudmila KRYVOSHAPKA 30 y/o, female, CSK Armiya Supskij (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
For someone who picked up football as a hobby because she was bored of serving as a receptionist in the reconstituted and rebuilt Federal Defense Forces of the Federal Republic, Lyudmila has to be surprised that she was even able to find her way into the national football team. At least she is good enough at football to be able to justify her inclusion in the national team. She has both creativity and stamina in droves, two things that are probably the most important skills for a midfielder. However, she does have a temper in her and can make rash decisions if she's ticked off. And now that she's starting alongside the equally hot-headed and ill-tempered Kresimir Tasic in the Estorian midfield, opponents are going to have a hard time getting through, at least until either one (or equally likely both of them) are sent off for an early shower.

RW: Zhanna PAPIROVA 29 y/o, female, FK Mamai Ihorivtsi (Pridnestrovia)
She's a good playmaker over on the right wing, and a surprisingly good defender as well when the situation demands. However, she's not the fastest person on the pitch, and her passing leaves a lot to be desired as well, but the Federal Republic needs some wingers to fill in the gaps left behind by the Kunaplenko siblings retiring from international football. There were probably better options out there, but none that could be called up on such short notice. But she might be able to make a name for herself in this team regardless.

CAM: Baltazar KOLOMYJSKI 28 y/o, male, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
It shouldn't really be that hard to nail down where Baltazar would fit in a football team. He has a formidable right foot on him that has led him to scoring some incredible goals from pretty much any conceivable range, yet somehow he couldn't use that same right foot for anything more than some basic passing and crossing if it came to that. So why in the world is he listed as a midfielder and not a forward? Call it a quirk in the new manager's methodology. Or call it the fact that Baltazar did all of that in an attacking midfield position.

LW: Tony PASCALIN 28 y/o, male, FC Cavaleri Urodorasul (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
If it weren't for the victory of the Federal Republic over the rest of the warring states in the Estorian Civil War, Anaia might never have been able to lay their eyes on this lad. Tony is an excellent striker with very good ball handling technique, but because he is an ethnic Pivan and the former State of Estorpiva didn't have the funds or the will to assemble their own national football team in the few years that it was in existence, he never would have been able to play against another country. All that said, he may be very good at putting the ball in the back of the net and even dancing his way out of trouble but he also can't run to save his own life.

ST: Oleh LOBANOVSKY 28 y/o, male, All-Inclusive Haranguer (Abanhfleft)
A somewhat versatile player who can play both in the middle or the left side of an attacking three formation. His pace and passing stats are about as average as one can get, but he also has a surprisingly clinical finish. If anything, he can annoy the opposition's defensive line as much as he can for as long as he can. If he does it coming off the bench, it leaves room for the Federal Republic to score some late goals, and if he does it as a starter, he leaves the defense vulnerable for the substitutes to take on.

RESERVES
GK: Viktor IVANOV 28 y/o, male, Bierburger SV (Pridnestrovia)
Known both for his dedication to his chosen profession and for being a model professional. He knows that he probably won't get a lot of game time being the third-choice goalkeeper but given his potential, it's probably only a matter of time before he becomes the primary custodian for the Federal Republic. Now elevated to the backup goalkeeper position, and could still make the number 1 shirt his in a couple of years.

GK: Aleksandr SUSLOPAROV 21 y/o, male, Molodets Pionersky (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
He was perhaps the one bright spot in what has been a season to forget for Molodets. Everyone knows that the Pionersky academy side is never going to get promoted to the Federal Top League anytime soon, but they also didn't have to be the entire Second League's doormat every single time. He is an excellent goalkeeper despite the state of the defense in front of him, and there is a non-zero chance that he could be moving to another team sooner rather than later.

DF: Svitlana KONDRATYUK 24 y/o, female, FK Chornyy Volodymyrivka (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She has good pace and passing, but as far as actual defending goes, she is surprisingly weak at it. But given how right back has suddenly become one of Estoria's problem positions, she really is the best that they could come up with in terms of bench options. Pray for all Estorian right backs, and pray for the right side of the Estorian defense.

DF: Vasilisa BERDYUGINA 32 y/o, female, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She is weak in the defensive side of the game, let's not beat around the bush here. But she does make up for it somewhat with some adequate passing skills, which would be good for a team that's good enough and disciplined enough to be able to pass out from the back without a lot of issues. Unfortunately, those two things do not describe the Federal Republic's national football team at all. Shame, because otherwise Vasilisa would actually be good enough to at least contend for a starting spot in this team. That was, at least, until now.

DF: Pavlo KALITVINTSEV 32 y/o, male, Dynamo Ja (Abanhfleft)
He's the exact opposite to his potential new partner in the middle of the Estorian defense, meaning that he is a pacey left-footed center back who can't really pass it anywhere with reasonable accuracy beyond a one-meter circle around his left foot. He and Branislau Sidarovich are actually an almost perfect complement to each other, so watch the Estorian national team start only one of them or leave both these defenders on the bench until it's possibly too late for them to make any meaningful contributions.

DF: Bogdana KLADAR 32 y/o, female, FK Traktor St. Paulsburg (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
She is a brilliant defender in her own right with good passing skills even if she is a bit plodding, but all of that will undoubtedly be overshadowed by the fact that there was a distinct possibility that her brother Slobodan would have been called up instead of her had he not gotten injured in the final days of the league season. She'll have a lot to prove, not really on the pitch because everyone acknowledges that's she good in her own right, but because of the aforementioned controversy she's been consigned to the bench in the meantime.

MF: Arkady TEPLINSKY 25 y/o, male, FC Foc Feuerstadt (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
It's hard to tell where he is best suited to play on the pitch. Sometimes, he would be the only player trying to score goals for Foc Feuerstadt, and other times he would be more busy setting up the defense. He has been listed down as a midfielder as a compromise upon getting called up, but expect this confusion in his best to mean that he actually won't get played a lot over the course of this tournament.

MF: Grigoriy ZAYAKIN 25 y/o, male, SC Batgeyt-1 (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Some would even go so far as to say that he was responsible for Batgeyt's domination in the new Federal Second League of Estoria. The local lad is the epitome of the defensive midfielder; the rock in the middle of the pitch through which everyone and everything must go through with no regard if it's for his team or against it. He can defend, he can run, he can tackle, he can ping a pass to practically any corner of the pitch. And to think that just two years ago, he was doing all of this for the love of the game and not getting paid a lot.

MF: Boško BOROJEVIĆ 26 y/o, male, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorpiva and Estorpiva)
He is a jack of all trades; practitioner of all but master of none. It probably stems from the fact that he played every conceivable position (yes, even goalkeeper) in order to find his place in what has been a stacked Spartak roster before finally nailing down the defensive midfielder position. He might not be the kind of player that wins games, but his presence on the pitch could still mean the difference between defeat and a draw, or a draw and a win.

FW: Kateryna DUKHNO 31 y/o, female, FK Spartak Rybolovlev (Estorvipa and Estorpiva)
Another player whom many believed was always destined to wear the yellow shirt sooner rather than later were it not for unfortunate and unforeseen circumstances. She was always a very pacey winger with excellent passing and technique, but she never got to show the full extent of her abilities during her time with All-Inclusive Haranguer in Abanhfleft, whether it was because of injuries or the quality of the players ahead of her in the lineup. It took a return to her motherland to finally unlock the potential that would get her noticed by the federation, as well as Vika Zaluzhenko retiring from international football for Kateryna to finally get that long-awaited call-up.

FW: Bohdan TATULYAN 24 y/o, male, FK Mamai Ihorivtsi (Estorpiva and Estorpiva)
He is the definition of keeping one's head down and letting the results come to him. He was nothing special when he first broke through Mamai's system, but within a couple of years he had finally managed to cement his place in the first team of the inaugural Federal Top League champions. Silverware still eludes him for now, but for a striker with 65 goals in 5 seasons of first team football, surely it only has to be a matter of time before he finally gets his hands on at least one trophy.

FW: Vyacheslav TSYGANOV 22 y/o, male, CSKA Tiraspol (Pridnestrovia)
He was tearing it up in Pridnestrovia's youth football leagues as one of the best strikers that CSKA had produced, so much so that it was only a matter of time before eyes turned to him with an eye of recruiting him towards representing one country or another. As with a lot of other Estorians, Vyacheslav Tsyganov's family fled their old motherland due to the civil war, and Vyacheslav could have represented Pridnestrovia if he wanted due to because he had already lived there since he was two years old, but the call of Estoria was strong in his heart and he chose to put on the yellow shirt instead of the red-and-green one.

Kanzlia, formally recognised as Gracious Kanzlian State, is an island democratic republic on the far north of Esportiva. The country is divided into 7 provinces. Its main island, Kalta, consists of nearly 85% of the country's population whilst the smaller island of Byradu makes up the rest. The seat of power in Kanzlia lies on its southernmost and largest port city of Szbedansk. It’s followed by the cities of Kotr, Tergtheim, and Ibsia. The country is well known for the cold.

The Kanzlian National Football Team (Also known as Voetbal Vereniging Kanzlia) was founded in 1900 but Kanzlian Football, in its current pyramid, was only finalised in the 1990s. Prior to this, a double league system was utilised. Anyhow, football is by far the most popular sport in Kanzlia with stadiums jam-packed full in every match of the season. Kanzlia with its history of hardships and prolonged periods of misery has resulted in a deep connection between the sport and Kanzlian society. The culture of the sport is one of fiery passion but also with a noticeable aspect of humbleness. A pundit said that Kanzlians are the sorest of losers during the 90 minutes, but once the game ends they switch back to normal often with an optimistic mood regardless of the result.

Kanzlia plays its official games in the Stadia Szbedansk, a relatively modern 53,280 seater stadium.

After a bit of waiting & internal changes, the Crpostranian Football Association has revealed its roster for it's third World Cup, & the first without former manager, Leonardo Bianchi, who recently parted ways with the CFA. Bianchi led the team into back-to-back World Cups, and against many odds. Now the helm has been passed onto another domestic strongman, Ivan Bakočević. Ivan had been the manager of Crpostranian club Brugstadt United, leading them into 5 titles & 7 cups over the course of his 6-year reign in the club. He too parted ways with the club, and was shortlisted by the CFA core committee alongside Viktor Arjlensi, who leads the youth NTs & the Doubeian club, Club de Pruxxe. Ivan edged past Viktor in the final vote to get the manager post. He will seek to turn around the team's fortunes, ever since their horrific show at the WC97's group stage, followed by the Olympics & another IAC Ro16 exit. Not intending to tire the team out like last time (the Grand Friendly Tour), the team conducted a single friendly match, with former IAC champions Saterun, home & won in Ivan's first game in charge. For the players, this has been an year of changes, with multiple high-profile transfers featuring NT players, most notably, Capitane Benjamin Lefevre's (Crpostranian) record-breaking transfer to Chromatik club Anomalies, among others. Can we go on a hat-trick of qualifications this time? Can we reach the knock-outs too? It remains to be seen. Kits, roster & other information given below.

Following the appearance of several cracks & sinkholes following a 6.5 magnitude earthquake that hit the city of Brugstadt & the Brugstadt Stadium last year, the city hastily speedened up work on the “Arena de Brugstadt”, which was meant to be a home ground for the Brugstadt United team, making it the city’s second major stadium. All matches initially planned by the CFA to be hosted at the Brugstadt Stadium was shifted to the new Arena de Brugstadt this time too, due to delays in the reconstruction of the Brugstadt Stadium. Brugstadt is a city known for its fanatical football fanbase, who adorn the stadiums in tifos to overwhelm the opponents. Beware!

The flagship stadium, huge production values, the works. Azure-coloured seating under canvas roofing. A beautiful circular stadium built in foreign Classical traditions.

Shemurdar (Schemerdrecht) - Orange Bowl (54000) - home to Schemerdrecht SVV (and the Schemerdrecht Admirals).
More associated perhaps with the Admirals than the SVV, but it's nearly always sold out venue for great crowds in any sport. A robust, somewhat boring square monster with little attention paid to its external looks.

Maethoru (Maethoru) - Rikalathen Arena (39000) - home to Maethoru SC (and Mayara Wanderers-Vulpecula).
Close to the KFA's training grounds, at least it has that going for it. Crowds are a little quieter here than elsewhere. A pristine pitch with seating in a few shades of green matching the field, all seating covered.

Ethuweri (Étouille) - Stade Amandine (30000) - home to Tanques AOE (and the Etouille Vultures).
Some amazing drone shots over a stadium, a city, and a crowd that knows what makes life fun. Extremely sponsor-friendly with its skybox layout, at the cost of the view of some nosebleeds.

Thelesra (Santa Teresa) - Estádio Fortaleza (29000) - home to Miradela GD (and the Santa Teresa Sabres).
Made to be exactly 1000 seats larger than their rivals' stadium, the Fortaleza is the upper-class stadium. They tried to make it look old and well-used with a specific standing-only section, but even there the privilege is palpable.

The working class stadium that is, in all facets, a bit inferior to the Fortaleza. Except the crowds. There's no better stadium for wild crowds. Plenty of standing-only areas, no cover, barely making it through inspections.

Monrama (Maynard) - Armskirk Municipal Ground (26000) - home to Maynard AFC.
The unlucky Maynard team have asked the KFA to have their stadium used by the national team - as the only southwestern stadium. The Armskirk isn't a bad stadium by all means, but some of the creative decisions in seating arrangements haven't paid off.

Katahshi (Katashi) - Suzumebachi Stadium (32700) - home to Katashi-Kanatsu.
The biggest stadium in the east, Katahshi deserves a game. The fans will mostly just cheer for eastern players, though. It's a wonderfully modern and digital stadium - the first with screens going all around the place.

Garihnkatar (Greencaster) - Golhampton Grounds (31000) - home to Sydberg Olympia.
Garihnkatar never had a big football culture, but that's changed, and the local Olympia have kept pace with the hype. Biggest city in the country, too. It feels like a much bigger stadium than it is, with plenty of options for later enlargement.

Ehbanna (Aevanna) - Northern Arena (32000) - home to university team 'Aevanna Ecologiske Universitet'.
The KFA wants some games geographically spread across the country, and so the cold, dark, and cold gridiron Northern Arena is on the list. The largely roofed stadium is partially dug in to prevent the Arena from dominating the skyline.

Alahrenna (Alara) - Spider Stadium (27100) - home to Advance Alara.
Eastern but not on the island Katahshi's on. Fans are used to seeing a lot of goals - which the Dragonflies don't do. The stadium has a lot of staggered mini-sections, make of that what you will.

Seterdahn (Straudum) - Hazel Arena (25400) - home to Straudum VV.
Biggest stadium in the northeast, as far as the mainland goes. Straudum's style matches the NT's style perfectly. Propped up by the massive (rich) IT sector. It's still sold out more often than not as one of the better stadium experiences out there.

Gilibehri (Eaglebury) - Uriagali Field (19500) - home to WSR AFC and Pride of Eaglebury.
Biggest/only stadium on the west coast. Gilibehri has an amazing, flourishing sports culture and it's no longer completely ignored by the other 99% of the country. The stadium boasts an impressive view of the mountains.

With Crewby added for potential penalty duties, the group seems set for this cycle. Bittencourt was the first-choice option, but both his club of choice (opting to go down to Weatherspark for home town hero reasons) and his age suggest he's not what he used to be. Malmstroom had hoped to take over but Naaldemaker's rise is undeniable. Our new number 1 goalie is perhaps a better fit with the passing, possession-vibe we have as of late.

The new batch of wingbacks is ready just in time so we don't have to start leftbacks here. For ages, this was the turf of some of the greatest players to ever play the position, but now we're back to unproven guys. Muifunin's rise in the Second Division with Miradela caught attention and rightfully so, but she's still a little while behind Zulambee and Bassin - the former on the better team, the latter probably the better individual player.

No shortage of greats for the backline. Three central backs and three molds - Mellowby and Todaka are the gamesmanship of the three. Perfectly capable of clearing a ball or keeping an attacker out of the game, no matter the method, but also fine at the buildup. Creativity used to destroy. Mellowby and Todaka are the ones playing, with yLleamaid a backup and Finisterrais still named, but also kind of out of focus for a starting or backup job. Remember when he was the crown prince of this position?

Loper is the undisputed king of our defence at the moment. As for the mold: here we find the tacticians, those preoccupied with their own position and still able to correct the position of others, though Loper especially pairs that up with plenty of other good traits. Zhomodhen and Loper should be the ones playing nearly all minutes out of this group. The Serrapince defender as the more all-round, Zhomodhen specifically for positioning and buildup, better on the ball.

The third of our molds is somehow southwestern and northeastern, nothing in between: a bit more physical, punishing, with power and pace somewhat mixed, though a little more power than pace - yet more of both are found here than at the other two centreback positions. That's why we think that yGorllaeneal is likely taking over at some point in the near future.

Van Kalvenhaar is still selected as a tie to our past - she played with some of the late 80s legendary defences - but it's all Senothonnau from here on out. Theklen is incredibly fast - as her mentor was back in the day (and still) - and pairs that up with a great sense of where to go to. You could say that Senothonnau - like Van Kalvenhaar - is the best player on the defence given all-round danger generated per 90 (a Numbers' Game stat that's definitely real).

It's the era of a completely pieced-together midfield of four that adheres loosely (VERY loosely) to the position designations. We're likely seeing something like Dhentingun (as, after a decade of absence, we're having not just one, but multiple world class defensive options) with Nakasarudhen (who makes pass distribution look easy) and either another defensive option in Andrade, or a more creative Mathey. The downside is that we'll have a very old and a very young player on the field. If it works it works, but Manguele might be pressured into a more conventional pairing of Andrade and Entatingun instead. Mathey and Yamakawa will supply some overloads, creativity, and attacking impulses - either will do, but Mathey will probably play most. Tsuchimoto and Walbuck are both alright options, but we're not expecting their workload to be much beyond a game or a half here and there. If we need the attack, we'll switch to a 5-3-2 and field an extra striker/finisher instead. For all midfielders: it's position over technique over pace and stamina - so we'll be trying to move the ball while only moving the players so much as necessary to confuse and confound.

An incredibly weak generation of strikers - and Manguele has finally decided to simply not call up most of them as a signal to clean up their game and improve. And they're 33+ too... so we might be in for a few rough years if none of the clubless academy players aren't doing much. The Top League has mostly looked at the Transfer Window for strikers, too, and it shows.

We play post-football, a term coined during World Cup 89 to put words to a horrible semifinal between Audioslavia and the Dragonflies, which ended 0-0 after 120 minutes, then all but one penalty was scored in the ensuing series. Post-football means no singing. No cheering. No scoring. Post-football is sideways passes, looking like the same, repetitive movements for minutes on end, but with tiny variations that at some point will get to you. It could be a counterattack, or a shot from distance, or a set piece. Post-football doesn't care if it takes 90 or 120 minutes, or more. Under Juliasterinthen and Davenport, the Ko-orenites earned a reputation as the perfectly positioned, tactical-yet-mean defensive team. Containing, capitalising, exploiting. Patience and countering.

Under Lele Manguele, an era that started just before CAFA 7 in cycle 94, we're breaking with traditions. Still targeted at preventing goals, the team instead tries to retain possession for as long as possible, in small, compact spaces, merging relationism with tenacious defence, for what that's worth and to what extent that's possible. Relations between individual players are now more important than retaining perfect structure. That means that the midfield will forgo most of their roles, and that the defence will break the line to help the passing game.

The Captina Company Football Agency

The Captina Company Football Agency (TCCFA) controls all levels of football in the nation, issuing licenses to groups wishing to form teams. The Captina Company Super League consists of 14 teams playing every opponent once between April & June then following a 2 month break, play every opponent again between September & November.

The Captina Company National Football Team will make their third consecutive attempt, and fifth overall, to qualify for the World Cup. This squad introduces the next generation of Captina footballing talent while retaining the core of the group that Jonas Yarborough has relied on since taking over th National Team.

In the “BP System” or the “BP Way” (neither of those should be considered as something used officially or unofficially—if you wanted to term it as such as something of your own IC creation, go for it) the 3-4-1-2 is more literal than the manner in which it's used RL.
A discussion I had with another user made me contemplate providing a bit more concrete info on just who plays where when you see my lineups/bench for individual matches.
Defense: the three backs play tight to one another when the ball is in the middle or defensive thirds—they should really be termed LCB/CCB/RCB. The outside pair will never be wider than diameter of the center circle. They both man-mark (unless there is an IC tactical reason they don't) and the centerback zonal marks (usually helping one of the other two). The CB is technically a fullback as they have more freedom to move forward with the ball at feet. In a pinch, an emergency situation as a sub, they could all play any of the three positions.
Midfield: there is a good deal of set responsibility among the four across midfield, but the one thing that is always a constant is the wings are the workhorses, they cover more distance than the other players. I've hinted at or flat out said in match reports in the past that left wing (and they are 99.9% of time always left footed) is THE talismanic position in The System, as right fullback is considered (in BP) as usually the weakest position in a flat back four.
The two central midfielders usually have a specific role, one as the playmaker, the distributor and the other as the defensive, hard tackler, disruptor, ball winner.
The preferred position is listed first, but the ones that follow show how versatile that player is. For CM's the left/right designation is the stronger side for that player, but in theory almost anyone in midfield can play in the center of midfield.
Forward: Ah yes, the wild card element. In this case, the differentiation should be looked at from the perspective of another sport—basketball.
The three positions are almost adapted from the indoor game: the center forward, the target man, the number 9—the one who plays up front but facing away from the goal. Mostly it's men who hold down this role in the NT, although not always.
The striker—they want to be played into an area by a pass, or want room to get a touch before shooting. They face goal, but usually in or very close to the box.
The 'slot'--what a lot of people call the attacking midfielder or the CAM. This is a player that can dribble and create their own shot, or draw defenders and find others. There's a reason why this position can be played by a midfielder or a forward and the rationale usually depends on a chemistry between a pair or trio, but more recently this has reverted back to a forward spot.
In conclusion—BP should always be RP'd (of course at your discretion, and I will always adapt to anyone who RP's first if something that's not necessarily canon is mentioned) as--
*fast, short passing
*high lines & pressing
*offside trap
*technically sound
*not easily intimidated
*willing to play anyone, anywhere

Nickname--since the end of the 1960's the National Team has been known as "The Bees", a period when the team's uniforms consisted of alternating black and gold hoops.
Previous to that time and subsequently through periods in the 1980's and 90's, the team was usually referred to by the county's national animal, the Elks; the women's National Team were always 'Lady Elks' until the advent of mixed gender play, which was revived during the Jenna Raven Cup and there are still numerous mentions of Elks in the supporters song “We are the Gold & Black”, which currently has close to 175 stanzas.

If you are travelling to Bir Matras, prepare for heat and tremendous amounts of Sunshine. While the temparature is relatively mild in the Winter, you will still be travelling to the Sahara desert and the temperatures might rise upto 30 degrees celsius(86 degrees Fahrenheit). And even if that doesn´t happen, the Sun is almost always visible during the daytime so prepare for that aswell. Most banks can only take a few certain foreign currencies, so if yu want Cash you either have to go to the Natinal Bank of Bir Matras in yamal, or the International exchange Bureau in Maladh Jadid. Tactics:
Manager Geraldo Rys and his assistants Mara Tapi and Toms Elwin have decided to implement a slightly aggressive 3-5-2 formation during their tenure as Zenic's national team staff. Even the generation that followed them is now approaching its end; with the entire squad now in their thirties or forties, it is widely understood, if not said out loud, that the World Cup 98 cycle will be the beginning of a transition, a chance for this heroic cohort to shine one last time before they exit stage right, to be replaced almost wholesale by a new generation of players. Expectations are low for this cycle; the fans simply want to see their heroes in action one last time. An invitation to the Cup of Harmony is probably the best that this team can realistically hope for, and even that is far from guaranteed. “We are here to have fun and enjoy ourselves,” Kaykali freely admitted. “The men and women have earned it after all these years.”

STADIUM

Adab City Stadium, the pride and joy of Adabian football, was completed in 1940. Located in the northern part of Adab City, the stadium was able to accommodate 40,000 people at the time of its opening. Renovations in 1978 made it an all-seater stadium and expanded its capacity to 55,350. Later it increased to 75,000 following upgrades in 2009-10 and then 76,500 after another upgrade in 2019. It is currently home to the Adabian national football team and Adab City FC.

TACTICS AND FORMATION
The team will use 4-3-2-1, the "Christmas tree" formation, with an emphasis on gegenpressing – immediately working to take back possession after losing the ball and launching a quick counterattack before the opponent can take the initiative. Any opposition players with the ball will find themselves swarmed and cut off quickly. The orientation towards gegenpressing has been offered as evidence of Rashid Abbas’ increasing influence as he seeks to modernize the team in his capacity as assistant manager.

Goalkeeper Satchit Chandrasekar is secure in his position as first-choice senior team keeper. Shania Enmerkar finds herself leading the defense, her limitless energy and tenacity – which she has demonstrated both on and off the pitch – making her particularly suited for this role.

At midfield, Emma Arthur finds herself paired up with Alulim Sinmuballit and Amara Emmita. Their agility and teamwork allow them increased coverage of the pitch and domination of possession, which they skillfully use to quickly transfer the ball away from the opposing team and to the attacking trio of Kastiliasu Akaptaha, Rebekah Yissakar, and Nadje Barzani. Barzani will occasionally drop back to serve as a false nine, leaving a hole in the opposition defense to be exploited by the wingers and attacking midfielders.

You know the deal already, it's fourth time rolling for this team.

The 22nd edition of the Independent Association Championships saw this team going to lengths they never reached before, again, finishing fourth in the tournament as they lost out to Saterun in the third place match. There are new changes and additions to the national team's roster with an expansion up to twenty six players partaking in the national team's campaign. The three original additions that were rumored in Rhine-Faust, Gillingham, and Kachel have been confirmed. But not only that, extra additions from the U21 team as well as two surprising call-ups were also made. It's definitely a shock that there were much more additions than expected, but perhaps we'll see why it went this way.

TEAM TACTICS
Ever since the national team's conception, Christopher Vermont has had The Anchors play a 4 - 1 - 2 - 1 - 2 in somewhat of a diamond shape.

The team plays a mixed style, often controlling their pace whenever having possession. They originally played a slow build-up, but now have three varying paces of "slow" and "fast" tempo of play. Although not as fast as many of the footballing countries that play quick, aggressive football, it's fast enough for this Aphrilian team to make a surprise. The fast tempos of play are used typically for the counter-attack and pressing of the enemy whenever not in possession of the ball, whilst the slow tempos of play would be used for whenever the team was on defense, playing build-up, or generally launching an attack towards the opposition half. This was done in order to contribute to the solution of enemy teams taking advantage of Aphrilia's previously slow and abysmal pace during the build-up. The other part of the solution is for someone to control the team's tempo of play.

Every single midfielder on the national team is taught on how to change the team's tempo by giving out orders, typically by hand signs and shouting out a code of communications to signify which tempo they would use. This single designated person is known as the team's Anchor, selected for each match by the manager himself. Everyone else on the team understands the code of communications as well in order to know how fast or slow they should play. The Anchor's orders regarding tempo is often linked with how the team captain wants the match to play out. These tactics were developed by the players themselves and was implemented for the first time in the 96th edition of World Cup Qualifying. And ever since then, this is the go to tactical system the team has used. Future players of course will also be taught the code of communications (And for midfielders, also how to be the Anchor).

FAN CULTURE
Aphrilians can be both patriotic and respectful most of the time. The keywords in that sentence being most of the time.

At home, Aphrilians will be chanting, singing, and cheering on from the beginning to the end of the match. And with the Millennium Dawn Stadium being designed in a way that gives the home crowd a good advantage (All within the rules), expect intense pressure from the stands. Tifos will be displayed, flags will be waved. No matter the end result, this nation will support it's team to the very end. However, they will be respectful to the opposition team and the away fans that travelled all the way to Darlingtown to see their team. Alcohol is banned in stadiums in a continuous effort to keep hooliganism at bay, and security is guaranteed for the teams as well as fans. The home crowd are friendly a lot of the times, so expect harmony and kinship before and after the match. This attitude is also shared for those who go to the away games, being respectful and proud.

And that is most of the time. However, when Aphrilians do end up getting rowdy, they can often cause quite the commotion. Public disturbance, vandalizing, damage to public and private property, those kind of things. But overall, the fanbase is calm enough that these occurrences are a sort of "once in a blue moon" kind of thing. In most cases where Aphrilians are reserved before and after matches, they often socialize with not only their own but also away fans whenever The Anchors are playing at home. On away days, the fans that are willing to make the trip will be sociable depending on if there's any restrictions placed on them as away fans or not. Generally having fun with each other before and after the matches by sharing songs, playing games with one another, enjoying the before and after festivities of a hopefully exciting football match.

Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more. Der Adlers play for the first time the qualifiers for a World Cup, but that does not mean that it is its first international experience, having played the IAC 22 and the Baptism of Fire 85. However, the results were bittersweet, displaying good football and getting some positive results, but failing to qualify to the knockout stages in the last group stage matchday in both cases. The last BoF was especially painful for the Calgasians, as the team managed not to lose in any of the four group matches, but that was not enough to qualify to the semifinals. Many back home thought that the team was quite unlucky, drawing two matches in the final moments despite dominating most of the time. That is why there is a slight pessimism across the country about the team possibilities. "We played like never before and lost as usual" is the most common heard phrase in the cafés, squares and bars in Calgasia these days.

Despite this air, the fans will flock to the stadiums and gather in pubs and friends' houses to cheer for their beloved team, Unsere Mädchen und Jungen, "Our Boys and Girls", braving the cold temperatures and the ever-rising prices of a beer (Was? 7 schilling für a beer in ze stadium - anonymous fan). Nobody expects the Adlers to qualify to the World Cup, but the team is expected to perform and play well.

Regarding the roster, there will be no changes from the BoF 85 team, as coach Sedler proved that these players can deliver a good football, although the defensive errors that cost the team so many points in BoF 85 must be minimised if Calgasia is to qualify.

Kaltenbrunner, Sloup and Kálnoky will be the goalkeepers for this team. Kaltenbrunner will be the starter. The 30 year old player from Kaiserbad has shown to be the most consistent keeper over the seasons, being a reliable player. His performance during the IAC 22 was solid, not being responsible of big mistakes, and saving when he had to. His prowess with penalties is his weak spot. Sloup and Kálnoky are way more spectacular in their saves, and are fan favourites, but both are prone to sudden nerve-cracking mistakes, thus relegating them to the bench.

The weakest line in the team, with some criticism in the air after their performance in the BoF 85, where they conceded some late goals that precented the Adlers to get more wins (and eventually failing to qualify to semis). The defence is dominated by the young pair Andris and Kargel, with 26 and 23 years respectively. Both centrebacks have an excellent ball control and passing, and their height makes them to be very safe in crosses and set pieces, while they struggle in counterattacks or in open spaces. A tall and very talented keeper with keen reflexes and instincts, there is reason to believe that he is the answer to the Marauders questions in goal for the next decade or so. Behind him is the more interesting proposition as Solheim is a bit long in the tooth and likely to be retiring not just from the international game soon but perhaps even hanging up his boots all together. Meyer has been a bit inconsistent but the last season or so she has found good form with the Blades and can be a solid choice with her impressive reflexes as well. Pabst and Domínguez get a recall into the team after solid seasons with their club teams in the Premiership, although neither inspires confidence they can step up when it truly matters.

While defense has never typically been the strength of a Vanorian team, there has been and are plenty of individually talented players who do end up playing a defender, with this group of players being no exception. What arguably stopped the team from lifting both the World Cup and ARC trophies was the inability to defend well against the most high flying of offensive teams, though the team's own attack bailed them out a few times. The middle has to get stronger and that is where Maurer and Beike with their experience and calm demeanor should lead the line and keep things as calm and as organized as possible. Rasmus Anderson and Samira Lindström are great backups, though the latter provides less ariel ability and more tenacity. The fullback positions are quite full of talented attacking minded players, with Adler and Söderström getting the nods at their respective positions. Freitag on the right side can come in and provide a bit more defensive muscle if needed, though being part of United he is also not afraid to get forward and support the attack when it is prudent to.

Few words can truly encapsulate the sheer amount of skill and drive that Laborious Hawk provides in the middle of the park and with the change in formation, he will likely shift to being more of a shadow striker sort of position rather than a facilitator. Veteran center midfielder Julia Strömberg will look to take up the mantle of playmaker in the middle, a role she is quite accustomed to with her coming through and playing for Hondo and their more offensive outlook even among Vanorian clubs. After a few stellar showings, Myrhe and his impressive six foot six stature will play the role of destroyer and screen the defense when needed to. With Holt no longer a part of the squad, the team will now lean on Winkel but it is going from strength to strength as the pool is extremely deep on the left. The Kelssek league has proven good proving grounds for Vanorians on the wing with both Anke Waechter on the left and Lina Gården on the right using the league's high reputation and good performances within it to make the team even if they are not expected to start.

Haaland's time is now, several seasons tearing it up with Turkish with two SuperLiga titles to his name with as many golden boots and it's clear that Juavi was never going to be enough for the lad. Strong enough to hold off the more physical defenders, fast enough to get behind them, and with a good nose for goal that has developed from a young age. While no means a dominant striker in any one area, his collective game is hard to beat and will make him a force to reckon at the head of the Marauders' attack and affords Millet flexibility in her approach game to game. Holmberg will be off the bench for someone with a bit more pace and the experience that she can bring to a game. Hahn and Garberg are like Haaland and have a bit more a well rounded game, both able to play further back if needed, Garberg using the reputation increase from Kelssek's league growth and his own decent scoring record for Latrobe to earn the callup.

Tactics

Elizidan is a manager who has the same sort of outlook as a traditional Vanorian might have in the game, looking to be on the front foot with a domination of the middle of the park and possession. The team is expected to have quite a bit of pace to be able to press the opposition, get back in defensive cover, and able to spring forward with lethality on a counter attack when the situation calls for it. None of these are expected to get any traction. While the HOT-DAMN outpost is currently under construction, the team will temporarily play its home games in Buckridge's Raceway Park. A 20,000 seat park is being constructed as part of the outpost.

Jimmy Eaton, the director of Kensington Town Soccer Club and owner of Laughing Dog Bar and Grill, is disappointed. He was hoping he could have met his old friend Rodney Walters, his best friend in high school and college, and relived old times when they got thrown out of college bars for drinking way too much and for being much, much too loud when comparing football tactics. Jimmy was hoping he and Rodney would have remembered the time they pissed off a bartender something fierce when loudly singing the praises of the 4-4-2 formation to his face. All the bartender wanted to do was converse with the beautiful woman sitting next to them and pour her another beverage. Instead, he got some real deep talk about the tactics of football formations. Either way, Eaton is hopeful that by traveling the world, they can find some great food, drink and friends that they can share their stories with.

The two goalkeepers on the Kensington Town squad are perhaps the most intellectual of the bunch.
Jim Dash, a financial planner for a major accounting firm back home, has won the last 16 trivia nights at the local bar in a row, even in spite of Triviamaster Dave Boyd's attempts to make things more difficult by bringing in much more obscure and esoteric topics such as "Parliamentary Procedures of Rushmori Nations, 1965-1980" and "World Grand Prix Champinship Reject Drivers, Seasons 1-5". Turns out Dash knows those like the back of his hand.

Zeke Moore, meanwhile, is the go-to when it comes to different scotch whiskies - even being able to tell the difference between the barrels that the whiskies were aged in. So even the bartenders at the local bar come up to him and ask what's the difference between one bottle of scotch or the other. Away from the bar and the pitch, Zeke has made that passion into his occupation, working as a salesman for a local whiskey company.

The four starting defensemen on the Kensington Town team have some very interesting - and quirky - tastes.

Randy Russell, for instance, made those quirky tastes well known on a Saturday evening at the bar when he put on some extremely obscene tunes that angered a local church women's group that had come by for lunch. Jimmy Eaton was presented with two choices: Either Randy is not allowed within 20 feet of the jukebox or he gets a lawsuit for obscenity. Away from the field, Russell has been pulled over by police at least 10 times for having his car radio up too loud - and for having some of those real disgusting songs playing at full blast. Several months ago, he appeared on one of those police videos shows real popular in his home country - for playing one of those songs at full blast near a local middle school.

On a Friday night a few months ago, Johnny Carter, seeing a news story involving the local parliament arguing over some piece of obscure-ass legislation involving a city several hundred miles from them. Carter went on a tangent to some of his fellow barflies explaining - in very painfully esoteric terms - why the procedure was not being followed right, why point of order was not being met or whatever, and why - damn it, Joyner, taking the parliamentary mace, wrapping it in barbed wire, setting it on fire and thrashing it over someone's head is grounds to get expelled from parliament permanently, even if it's a "worked" parliamentary mace as you claim it is. Either way, the rest of the barflies were much more interested in Freddy Joyner's implementation of professional wrestling in parliament than what Johnny was saying.

Bruce "Elf Ears" Tatum got his name for a Sunday jaunt in the bar. With heavy rains all over the area, their field was a sloggy, muddy mess and the game between Kensington Town and rival Sharpsburg Rovers was called off. So both teams went to Laughing Dog Bar, had way too much to drink, argued over the NSSCRA race being aired on the televisions, and somewhere, somehow, a pair of elf ears were produced. Bruce Tatum put them on and as he puts it, "that's the last thing I remember." Others in the bar recall him drinking way too much, blowing chunks and getting sent outside, where he passed out in a driving rainstorm.

Gael Hicks became a fan of Hapiloppian football player Nathan Ellis years ago, when, on a whim, he turned on a World Cup 84 qualifying match between Hapilopper and Vdara. It was in that game where Ellis clotheslined Vdaran footballer Alexis Fotellis and made quite an ass out of himself. Since then, Hicks decided that, in his beer league games of his own, he'd do what Ellis did. He started wearing Number Five - which in Hapiloppian football is considered "the number of violence" and he started playing like Ellis. But the thing is, the other teams didn't like it, and neither did local law enforcement, who hilariously arrested Hicks after he tried doing his Nathan Ellis routine on a beer league team consisting of local police officers.

The bench defenders are just as quirky as the starting ones, and have become famous within the Kensington area - some for good reasons, and others for reasons you'd rather not think about.

Have you ever turned on the 6 o'clock news and wondered where in the hell the reporters found some of these goobers they talk to? Elwood Davis has jokingly called himself a "professional idiot on the street" for his numerous appearances on the local news - oftentimes being dressed up in a bathrobe and an old baseball hat, giving his take on the exploding gas station across the street or the moron that tried stealing an ambulance on the corner of the road he was on. And every time it happens, Elwood will come back to Laughing Dog that day and get heckled by his fellow barflies for his latest, ludicrous take on the news of the day. It has happened at least 10 times in the last year, even as local news networks seemingly forget who they're talking to.

Freddy Joyner is the resident professional wrestling fanatic of the Laughing Dog crew - to the delight and chagrin of his fellow barflies. Every Monday and Wednesday, he insists on the bar putting on the pro wrestling shows, and he'll go on and on about why this pro wrestling storyline is working and why this pro wrestling executive is a dunderheaded goober because of his insistence on wearing a neck brace in the middle of a professional sports draft. Othertimes, he'll just yell at the TV to tell a pro wrestler to get a table and set it on fire. Joyner has been adored by his fellow barflies for things such as sparing them the boredom of esoteric-ass parliamentary talk, and chastized for attempting to perform pro wrestling maneuvers on them, such as one instance when he offered Anthony Donis $20 "to see what Suplex City is like."

Darrell Hawkins, meanwhile, really enjoys cooking. The only reason he doesn't go behind the bar and make food for his fellow barflies is that there are people employed to make that food and he doesn't want to take away from their livelihood. Instead, he'll go home and make his own food. His favorite dishes include what he calls "Thunderchicken 65" - a spicier version of a Chicken 65 dish - and his own tuna casserole, which he considers his party piece that he'll make for girls he's seeing and for barflies that come over to his place when they need a place to crash.

Eddie Deacon is a complete idiot. He's the kind of guy that does stupid things for money - and we mean, really, REALLY stupid things. Things like breathing fire for a $5 bet, things like blowing up a toilet at Laughing Dog for a $20 bet (something that netted him a six-month ban from the bar when Jimmy Eaton saw the damage) and punching out a referee to help a friend win a bet. Eddie had collided with another player from Green Street Club in the 28th minute of a match - a cynical challenge, maybe a little excessive, but it was there. And when the referee started breaking the two apart, Eddie recalled two of his friends getting into an argument over what would happen if a player punched a referee, and a bet was placed. So Eddie figured he'd resolve the bet and decked the referee. He was given a straight red and a two match suspension. He was lucky Jimmy Eaton didn't stick a boot up his ass afterwards.

The midfielders on the Kensington Town squad have gotten themselves into some level of trouble for a variety of reasons.

Zack Webster, for starters, has managed to ruin no less than three dates he has brought to Laughing Dog after his date will inevitably ask him "so, what are you interested in?" Webster will respond, inevitably, with his very encyclopedic - and very boring - knowledge of televion station signoffs from the 1970s and 1980s. Occasionally, one of his fellow barflies will overhear this, bring some of their friends in and when Webster finishes his spiel, they'll chime in by giving their rendition of the most annoying sound in the world. Inevitably, the date has decided she's had enough and walks away - oftentimes before the food even arrives. Webster works at a local TV station in the mornings, so at least his coworkers have that same interest - we hope.

Anthony Donis, meanwhile, has just recently recovered from a shoulder injury that came after Freddy Joyner offered him $20 to see "what Suplex City is like." Donis is obviously a complete idiot because Joyner takes pro wrestling way too seriously. Either way, Donis accepted the offer, Joyner picked him up and gave him a vicious belly-to-back Hapiloppian suplex that slammed him into the bar itself, breaking his shoulder. Donis missed three months of action while Joyner was suspended two matches for "aggravated dipshittery," as Jimmy Eaton put it. The bar at Laughing Dog, meanwhile, was visibly dented from the suplex. Jimmy decided not to have it fixed "to show everyone what kind of morons I have frequenting my establishment."

"God damn it, Roger, you again?" The Kensington Town Police know Roger Goetz a little too well. He's not a violent person and he doesn't do anything too bad. His problem is he tends to stumble home from Laughing Dog a little too often after having a little too many cold ones with his friends. Roger has been arrested no less than five dozen times for public drunkenness and criminal stupidity - including one time when he got sick and blew chunks on a side of a fast food restaurant not far from his apartment. His mugshots have appeared on the walls of Laughing Dog as Kensington Town Police have let Jimmy Eaton know of one of their more overserved customers. Jimmy laughs it off - Roger doesn't get in a car and drive, he doesn't do anything that endangers the health of anyone else or himself, he just enjoys drinking, and he'll walk home instead.

On a Saturday night in the offseason, Jimmy Clifford was playing with the arcade machine near the back of Laughing Dog and was getting a little frustrated with how he was doing. To make matters worse, it seemed like the arcade machine was taunting him for how poorly he was doing. There was a line of people waiting to play on the arcade machine and they were getting frustrated. Finally, Jimmy lost his cool, first screaming bloody murder at this inanimate arcade machine that had mocked him for the last time, then grabbing a sledgehammer that, for some reason, was situated off to the side. Jimmy started whaling away at the arcade machine before eventually, an impact from the sledgehammer caused the arcade machine to blow up, sending shrapnel flying in all directions, causing the fire alarm to go off and leading Jimmy Eaton to explain to firefighters that no, Laughing Dog was not on fire, some dipshit just blew up the arcade machine in a fit of white-hot rage.

Kensington Town has two backup midfielders, and by comparison to the starters, don't really do much to get in trouble, but they do have their moments.

This past Halloween, Kenny Stewart, who is 5'10", decided he wanted to dress up like Clarissa Alanis Star from the wonderful world of Valentine Z. This included dying his skin blue and getting stilts so he could appear to be comically large. Unfortunately, Kenny didn't consider the fact that the front door of Laughing Dog didn't take giant Valentians into consideration, nor did he consider his balance when walking on stilts. So as he walked out to Laughing Dog, he realized he couldn't get through the front door, dressed up as Clarissa Alanis Star, and a 5'10" big blue robot just wasn't going to cut it. He tried crawling through the door and failed, before finally giving up. But as he got back up, he slipped a bit and busted his ass as he fell onto the sidewalk, nearly taking out an old lady walking by. For whatever reason, that old lady now has a fear of fat morons dressed up as Valentians.

A few weeks after Kenny Stewart busted his ass, it was karaoke night at Laughing Dog. Rudy Royal, figuring he'd act on a goofball impulse, meandered out to the stage and asked to take a soulful funky pop hit that had just come out. He gave the karaoke operator a mischievious look, looked at the lyrics and started singing it like a thrash metal hit, screaming the lyrics at the top of his lungs. It got everyone's attention and was worth quite a few laughs and a lot of cheers. But the next day when he showed up to his job as an advertising sales rep for the local newspaper, everyone wondered what happened to his voice. Rudy had to explain that, yes, he had blown it out, no, he wasn't watching sports on television, and yes, after a coworker played a video that had been posted to twii.tur, he had blown his voice out doing karaoke.

The two starting forwards can score a lot of goals and piss a lot of people off. Sometimes at the same time.

Chris Spears is lucky someone didn't shoot him. While on a weekend visit to Hapilopper City, he spotted a political rally featuring Hapiloppian President William Mathis. Spears, who is apolitical and considers all politicians to be corrupt douchenozzles, opened the window of his 6th floor hotel room, got out a megaphone and shouted "HEY! CHECK THIS OUT!" As Mathis and about 3,000 people turned around looked, Spears pulled down his pants and hung his bare ass out the window. Nobody could restore order as Spears danced his bare ass out the hotel window. Mathis, meanwhile, sensing that people in Hapilopper do this sort of dumb stuff all the time, couldn't help but crack up.

While Chris Spears is mooning heads of state, Charlie Downer is going for his seventh plate at the local all-you-can-eat buffet. Downer has one of the best metabolisms of any footballer, professional or amateur - in the area, and loves to eat lots of food. In the process, he has tested the extent of these restaurants' "all you can eat" policy, and on three occasions, he has shown that "all you can eat" doesn't really mean "literally all you can eat," as managers of these restaurants have come up to him and asked him to please leave because while he's eating all he can eat, they can't keep up with the demand and the demand of other customers.

The two backup strikers have their own quirks, some good and some really, really stupid.

For the last 20 years, Matthew Haywood has been prohibited from renting cars back home following a well-publicized incident where he, pissed off at a fellow motorist, smashed into his rear bumper. That fellow motorist pulled up alongside him and doorslammed him. So rather than just exchange insurance details, apologize for their misdeeds and move on, these two idiots turned their vehicles into weapons and the highway as their own personal battleground. By the time it was over, Haywood's car was demolished, smoking and may have been on fire. The other guy's car was demolished as well, not to mention the three other people that got caught up in it. Punches were thrown, police got involved and by the time it was over, the rental car agency was even angrier than the guy that Haywood rear-ended.

Ted Ingram is a steakmaster. He and his friends - all of whom have been friends since college - get together once a week on a Friday night, get some steaks, whiskey and cigars and enjoy the evening. They'll get a bad movie from the 80s, watch that and enjoy their steaks. Many of his friends are also regulars at Laughing Dog, and they'll come along for the Sunday games as well, but then question why Ingram doesn't get much playing time. The reality is, Ingram is just as happy sitting on the bench and enjoying himself as he is anything else.
