High Fantasy:

Just thought of this. High Fantasy isn't the only type of fantasy we have here, even though it's my personal favorite. There's Urban Fantasy, Steampunk Fantasy, Medieval Fantasy, Low Fantasy.... basically, there are lot's of fantasies, and I mean that there are dozens. So either we include all of those(which is not plausible and makes no sense), or expand this to all Fantasy. The latter is what I recommend, Swith.

I like the new framework put in place to minimise popularity votes; it's clear that a lot of thought went into this. I agree that some of the A&F people should be asked to be judges; it would definitely help to reduce bias. On that note, I would like to volunteer myself as a judge (my exams aren't until the last week of January, so I'll be fine ).

One problem I recall from last year was that the voting circle was mostly limited to people who belong to specific groups. I would suggest doing some more advertising this year; unfortunately, I'm at a loss right now as to how that could be achieved, and I don't have time at the moment to ponder it.

That's an option, certainly. Not sure if we have enough of both, however, from what I've seen, modern fantasy is not hugely common.

Wouldn't that conflict with the Nation RP category. But not my area of expertise, so one of you fellows who's got experience with alt-history and nation Rps will have to tell us.

We could do a "Misc" category for those things that just don't fit anything else. My own RP, PL, is a prime example of a game that has "too much of everything" to fit into a single category. Nominators would need to denote what the "misc" is, I suppose.

I think it's an actual genre, and I think CoI fits there.

A Misc category could work, but perhaps mentors and/or judges could check up on nominations to show that they're actually a conglomeration of genres? That would be to make sure that no one's trying to move their RP from a category that better suits them, but has lots of competition. But it might be too much work for mentors and/or judges...

I was thinking more Historical Fiction character RPs, but we don't have many, and most of those could probably fit into another category just fine.
