I obsessively check moderation cuz I like seeing idiots get the smackdown but that's just nonsense.

Why is it nonsense? Is 'ultra-annoying idiot' too 'tame'? It was an attack on the poster on a personal level, and so it broke the rules. If a poster cannot stop themselves from calling somebody names on this site, they should learn to step away from the computer.

Nobody gets offended if they get called an idiot.

That's their objective. Get people to flip out at them so they can report it. Such posters don't tend to last long, though.

Or don't forget the utterly stupid ideas like: 'Moderators should be elected' or 'All moderation decisions should be made by a vote'.

That just made me remember a post from a few years back of someone who wanted to know if it was OK to save adspam posts in the Wayback Machine and have a dispatch that linked to all these archived posts to somehow help the mods catch adspammers faster???

Whether anyone gets 'offended' by the issue is irrelevant. Name-calling is one of the most obvious examples of flaming, as it attacks the poster instead of the content of their post. Keep in mind, you can refer to what they've POSTED as idiotic short-sighted drivel and you're perfectly fine!

But better yet: foe them.

Thus we reach another cliche: people who let a feud escalate, rather than simply foe'ing the opposing party and making any confrontation moot. Such things only lead to both sides getting concussed by Reppy's banhammer.

If I recall correctly, WA resolutions have no effect on nation stats.

GA resolutions do, based on the category, but as far as I know SC resolutions don't.

I'd say maybe I'm an old enby now but I'm also only 26 years old. And I just turned 26 last Saturday too, so I haven't even been 26 for a week.

I'm not sure if I am bothering you with my constant input on what you're saying, but I completely agree, I really wish people would focus on things they like, and have good times with, rather than continue to be negative forever and ever.
