15 minutes to get there

35mph/15min = 35mph/0.25h = 8.75 miles, if I did the math right (no calculator).

I'm a Native American Ukrainian mix with more Chinese/Japanese cultural orientations. In contrast to rest of family who're Native American Germans.

So... my chosen first names usually don't mesh well with my birth last name... and parent's wont let me change my last name.

There is also no sidewalk on these roads (which are pretty damn hilly, as I live in Tennessee), so there's a safety concern as well...

And as for getting up that early, I'd literally have to leave the house at 7am just to get there for 7:50 (I'm adding an extra 5 minutes for going slower than 10mph).

Would've been a slightly better idea in Louisiana, though my school there was about 30 minutes from Ruth and Haskel's house...

Yeah, I have a half hour bike ride to work and back each day. It's a bit hard, and will be unpleasant (the bike ride to my old job was unpleasant in winter too, but it was only fifteen minutes) in the (Chicago) winter, what with all the snow and ice and biting winds, but it keeps me in pretty good shape and releases lots of nice endorphins.

I'm quite frankly upset that I had to get mom to take me, which made her late for work, because my school is 15 minutes in the opposite direction from her work (which is about an hour away, anyways) when the buses aren't running, and the school zones aren't in effect (which are areas of the road where kids frequently wait for the bus, and areas of the road adjacent to the schools, so one must slow to a crawl in those areas).

So, yeah, I'm mad.
