I've made no effort to hide my identity besides not outright saying it, and yet since showing up under this nation I've gotten an average of one PM every week or so saying, "Oh my god! Wait a minute! Hello, I'm Greater Rhodes. I'm a first-year university student, looking for a Bachelor of Arts and afterwards a law degree. You've probably also seen me before as Nouvelle Rhodes and, to a smaller extent, Toussillon. I am of mixed race (Jamaican/Scottish), Canadian, pretty liberal, and a grammar Nazi. I also quite enjoy hip hop (like Immortal Technique, Company Flow, Wu-Tang Clan, etc., I wouldn't be caught dead listening to anything on the radio or similar), as well as punk music (hardcore punk like the Germs, Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, etc.). Most, if not all, of the subsections have helpful threads stuck to the top. A lot of new players don't read them, but it's a good way to get to know how things work. What type of thing do you want to do on the forum? (I mean, do you want to do serious roleplays, political debates, casual chat, etc.) If you know what area(s) of the forum you plan on frequenting, it will be easier for the right people to help you.

As for me, I'm a Philosophy/Political Science Undergrad from the Pacific Northwest of the US (WA, to be precise). My focus in Philosophy has been Romanticism, Existentialism, and Hermeneutics, whereas my focus in Political Science is in Jurisprudence, Internationalism, Political Theory.

I'm planning on getting an MA and PhD in Continental Philosophy (at the University of Guelph, it would seem), a JD (hopefully, from a Law School that is more theory, less practicum based... But it will be either Syracuse or Seattle U. at this rate...), and MA in Thanatology (Go Hood College!). At least, while pursuing careers in teaching, writing, public defending, advocacy, grief counseling, and any journalistic outlet available (except sports writing; I'll do, and have done, editorials, food critique, local beat, heck, even cartooning, but not sports writing...). Although, I did have a lot of fun, and made quite a bit of money, doing First Call, among the strange and unusual jobs I've held

As for interests, I'm extremely picky when it comes to movies, music, anime, television, cartoons, games, and books...

...I like movies like Sliding Doors and Amélie, bands like Theodor Bastard and Enigma, musicians like Enya and Angelzoom, anime like Haibane Renmei and Boogiepop Phantom, television like The Vicar of Dibley and Frasier, cartoons like Sealab 2021 and The Boondocks, games like Legend of Mana and Planescape Torment, and books like the Dragonlance Chronicles series and Kant's Critiques.

But... I DO NOT like movies like Black Christmas or The Hangover, bands like NIN and the All American Rejects, musicians like Taylor Swift and 50 Cent, television like King of Queens and Tyler Perry's House of Payne, cartoons like Squidbillies and Chowder, games like Manhunt and GTA, and books like Atlas Shrugged and the Left Behind series...

I keep my politics (and economics) in the same place as my heart - on the Left. As far as Citizenship, Patriotism, and Nationalism go, I define myself as Washingtonian first and foremost (Rain and Coffee, 24/7 please!), Pacific Northwesterner second, Hawaiian Leprechaun third (I'm half Native Hawaiian and Half Irish, but really... I'm so disconnected from both cultures, they don't really apply to me), and as a very distant, vaguely referenced fourth... I'm American (although, if Guelph turns out to be more than a just an educational experience, I might end up being Canadian in the end).

Also, I'm a Lacto-Ovo-Vegetarian with leanings towards being a Vegan (no, don't ask me about PETA, I just can't stand the taste of meat...), I'm a masculine/bear-loving Gay guy (not flamboyant, no lisp, will not do Drag, I like/love Bara NOT Yaoi, often accused of being a sensitive straight guy), I'm a Neopagan in a religious/spiritual sense (which means I'm Pagan, as in I'm not Christian, Jewish, or a Muslim, but 'neo' in the sense that it is a modern belief system), I dress in logo-free Black clothing in a very conservative, corporate, and professional sense (just love the look, honestly), and I'm also a Bibliophile (books are more likely to catch my eye than car accidents and hot guys...).

I'm Yngir, male, 19, Christian (though less conservative than some), asexual, a journalism student in a country that claims to be democratic but lets local political strongmen kill off journalists when they see fit, and (fairly obviously) a Warhammer 40,000 fan in a country where no one besides me and a few others know of 40k. I'm supposed to be a leftist, but I'm more open to ideas from all political leanings because they might make sense. I also suffer from near-perpetual drowsiness when the sun is up.

I enjoy reading stuff (I'm currently interested in Lovecraft's works), classical music, video games (mostly real time strategy games), food, writing, and... anything that might interest me at the moment.
