At the start of 2020, COVID-19 was merely a novel pneumonia that wasn't SARS (even if the virus responsible is from the same species) but was most certainly being carried about by a smattering of people from Wuhan. Fast forward to this post and we've got almost half a billion cases, almost 6.2 million dead, over 90% of the world's student population weren't going to school at one stage, every large organized event you could possibly think of for 2020 was shunted back into 2021, billions of people have been under lockdown at some stage, over 11 billion coronavirus vaccine doses have been administered, etc.

Feel free to grumble about it, but keep in mind that since the COVID-19 rules have been retired, any COVID-related rulebreaking that runs afoul of the Rules will be dealt with by my colleagues as normal. That being said, please stay indoors if you can, wash your hands, keep at least some distance away from other people, the distance depending on whatever physical distancing mandates that may apply to your country, and do continue to post here as you normally did.

BoJo's wife Carrie Johnson is also being fined.

I doubt he'd even be in court over this.

if it were to face court would it be China vs who?

Regardless of who you imagine being prosecuted, the crime in question did not happen. COVID was not released into the world, not by Xi Jinping, not by the nation of China, not at all. It's a virus, it infected people and spread.

No. Well? If you can prove it was supposed to be a bioweapon which you can’t. Plagues, diseases, etc., happen. Holding countries accountable would be silly. For one thing? Why offer information, data, samples, etc., if you were going to be punished?

I mean, if you've been fully vaccinated and as long as you do social distancing (also wearing mask in public places), it should be fine. I've yet to hear about a new lockdown or something similar that is going to be implemented here too.

I seem to recall you posting about Philadelphia doing away with the mask mandate last month. Seems to me they took the off ramp and that clearly didn't work for them, so they're taking the on ramp again.

Ahh, new thread smell. Anyway, I hope one day I'll be able to wear a set of outdoor clothes more than once before throwing it into the laundry. Can't be too careful, but at the same time, really does numbers on the clothes being washed a bit too many times.

The US would have to stand trial for releasing influenza (Spanish flu) since it originated from Kansas. I think we shouldn't trial countries simply for being the point of origin of diseases.
