With zero evidence besides Harry and Markle saying "someone said racist things."

I believe there's still alot of racism in America and the UK in the present day, but at the same time the word racism gets overused alot too for situations it doesn't apply in at all.

With the Death of the Duke of Edinburgh, I believe it is the beginning of the Reign of Her Majesty, Elizabeth II.

The Duke has been at her Majesties side since the Reign of King-Emperor, George VI. But now with his passing, its only goes downhill from here.

God Rest the Duke of Edinburgh, God Save the Queen, and God Bless the Prince of Wales

Queen Elizabeth has been the one doing the 'reigning' (as much as a constitutional monarch can in a post-Victorian British system at any rate) since King George VI though?

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex went out of their way to clarify that the Duke of Edinburgh wasn't the source of the comments about their son's potential skin colour.


Which is, however, a separate issue from whether the Duke of Edinburgh was in any way racist. He certainly occasionally expressed some views that we might charitably describe as old-fashioned; but then my grandmothers were 5-8 years older than Prince Philip and - however regrettably - said things that were far more racist than anything Prince Philip ever said when they were still alive. Generational views change. That doesn't mean that we should never challenge the views of older generations, only that we can regret (indeed condemn) things that they might say or do that no longer meet contemporary standards while also understanding the social context that they were raised in contributes to their views.

Things didn't go downhill because of Philip. The royals are basically figureheads and don't really run things in Britain.

You can thanks the Tories for all that. They do run things and not very well.

I would just like to pay my respects, it's kind of he still sad that he didn't get to see his 100th birthday just two months away. I hope he rests in peace and I think despite his life deserves to respected and rest in peace.
