Bloomberg with another hot take.

Bruh, this is high-grade copium for scared hedgies.

It seems like most corporate media coverage appears to be painting this as some sort of tulip mania type situation, of people just investing and investing in an unprofitable business for no reason to drive it up even though it'll never be able to return their investments.

Bloomberg with another hot take. "Retail investors are too stupid they need us to save them from themselves" and there seems to be an implication that this was a Federal Government call?

I love the framing. "Oh well we saved some people from losing everything", ignoring the fact that AMC owners such as myself lost up to 50% today depending on their buy-in point - with Robinhood and other apps' suspension of trading partly to blame. Thanks guys, you really saved me from myself. >:(

They just cannot handle being challenged with the same shit they do. It might be kinda sad if it was not so cathartic to see them have to cope with getting their own shit thrown back at them.

To the people in power this is worse. They always cared more about money than human life.

They lost $14B or something the other day, if you believe their actuarial estimates of the value of a human life it was actually probably more like 9/11 in terms of fatality-dollar-equivalents

MAGA has almost always been anti Wallstreet. I know many Trump supporters and they hate Wallstreet as much as I do, and that's the only thing we share in common.

I've seen rich people compare themselves to Jews living in Nazi Germany. These people are so fucking privileged that they can't even comprehend what REAL hardship is.

Because they cannot think beyond their own greed, that's what they would do if they had done it first so that's the only reason they can think they're doing it.
They just cannot comprehend anything else but greed.

They don't want to admit that there are other reasons for this, like revenge because that would mean admitting that people have a lot of reasons to be pissed with Wall Street.

This is like 9/11. And by 9/11 I mean November 11, or November in the year 9 AD because proper date ordering is day/month/year or year/month/date . I'm not sure what happened on November 9th or in November of 9AD that would be super famous and equivalent but I'm sure someone could find something.

It would be a beautiful sight if some super rich fat cat got identity frauded and lost all his money to some rando in mom's basement.

Even better if it is - as it seems to be - many randos in their respective moms' basements.

I know not everyone agrees with the Keynesian logic I sprout out of my big mouth hole, but consider this: which of these sounds like the more profitable clientele for small businesses: some rando holding on to $14 billion in equities, or a million ordinary people who suddenly have spending money to pad out their lives with?

Indeed, one of the agreeable parts of their ethos, even if it is built upon the stupid notion that Wallstreet are leftists wanting to make the US into a communist state.
