Holy shit. Anyone else just realize what I just realized?

Eventual death? We've traveled between planets within 10,000 years of research. We'll cross the stars within a million years. And yet, giving us a planet for several million years is dooming humans to death? Puh lease.

Some atheists really have no hope for the human race, that's what I just realized.

You are going to die within 100 years. Probably within the century.
And, since you'll probably just dismiss anything I say regarding the eventual death of the human race, I'll just leave you with this: The eventual death of the universe. If you dispute that, the eventual death of whatever we escape to.

A good hockey coach is going to force his fourth line to struggle if his team's winning a game. Sure, he can put in the first line, and let them cream the opposition, but then the fourth line learns very little. Or he could, having a 4-1 lead, send in the fourth line, watch them struggle, and yet, watch them learn. If God just crushes all of the Hellish Spawn, then what are we, as humans, supposed to learn? That we're to sit on the bench, until it's absolutely safe?

Did the hockey coach make the opposing team?

Difficulty is getting back into it during college.

Still doesn't make me a better person. It just means I had the time and opportunity.
Am I better than the man who works for his wife and child? Or the man that works because he enjoys his job, but provides for his wife and child nonetheless? Or the man that has dedicated his life to serve a diety that likely doesn't exist? Or a diety that even he believes isn't likely to exist?

Well, what is better?

Not really, if you help those who need it, free of charge, that makes you a better person. Whether it makes you slightly better, or a lot better, that's the debatable part. But it certainly makes you a better person :D

Oh college life. Well, I can't blame ya for college, although I helped out. Now, in terms of serving God. I don't view this as either/or. I want Happiness, and I want to serve God. I don't see the two as incompatible. Serving God does not preclude you from working most jobs. Honestly, I don't see why your goals are so incompatible. You can work for your family, enjoy your job, and still have Spiritual Time. There was a time in Russian History, when that used to be the norm! I really don't see why you'd have to choose.

Ah, but you see, those none of those are my goals. But you never told me what was better. So what is optimal?

Spiritual time... I already take time to think and calm my mind, organize my thoughts. What point is there to spirit? What point is there to prayer? Wishes are the things dreams are made of. But dirt, grime, dust, atoms, molecules... these are things reality are made of. You make a plan and you execute it. No point in pretending otherwise.
This Debate is simply an exercise in Rhetoric. Truth is a fickle being with no intentions of showing itself today.

Look not all christians believe in spreading the gospel and believing god is a criteria for going to heaven. What evidence do you have that your beliefs on god are more correct than theirs?
