As a long time lurker in the Mod forum I would like to say that I've always admired your honesty and commitment to the job. You will be missed.

Best of luck with everything.

DLN left? This is my first time hearing about this. Then again, I haven't exactly been trying to get modly attention or do anything that would deem me worthy of further punishment.

Wait, she left being a mod. Still... surprising. Honestly, DLN was always one of the most mysterious mods to me. Then again, I've only got experience (to my crap memory, apologies if I f**k up) with Farn, Reppy, and a couple others. I think I also got a couple of DLN near-hammerings or hammerings, I've forgotten; again, my memory is crap lately. Add that to school stress and everything's just no good at all.

Oh, my, I'm ranting sortof, aren't I? Sorry 'bout that. I'll miss you, DLN. I'll be honest, I sometimes lurk the modsection, if only to see other people make mistakes so I know not to make them... I think I've done a good job, ja? Anyways, take care, DLN.

EDIT:

A tl;dr of what I was trying to say: DLN was a great mod, and I have no doubt that s/he (I honestly for the life of me can't remember the gender of anyone) will be as happy in retirement as s/he was in activity.

Sad to see you go, I liked your moderating, too. Good luck with the all-natural soap business.
I'm just curious if it were possible to hear a bit about what policies you were starting to disagree on?

That would be enforcing the no flamebaiting rule.

Flamebait: Posts that are made with the aim of angering someone indirectly. Not outright flame, but still liable to bring angry replies. Flame baiting is a far more subtle and covert action; it is an underhanded tactic that is designed to provoke a response from another player. It's in the same context of trolling but with flamebaiting it's just the one person.

Shall we continue?

I've been away for a week, and have only just caught up with this news.

Though Nathi's tone can occasionally be acerbic, this shouldn't obscure that she is, in essence, a generous and warm-hearted person; it's unfortunate that more people haven't had the opportunity to see this gentler side.

I wish her all the best in her future endeavours, both on-site and off.

It would indeed. And I've already confirmed that nothing of the sort will be happening now, or in the future. Shabby treatment of oneself is never an excuse to break one's word, in my opinion. Disagreements will happen. And again, that is his prerogative to choose who will and who will not have access to the mod tools on his site. It was a crap way to go about it, but again, his choice as site owner.

Thanks Jen, Arch - you're both rather awesome people, yaknow? Of course, if folks haven't seen that already, I dunno what to say. The RP that Jen has been involved in has reached areas of creativity and creepiness that I continue to be in awe of and respect. And Arch - what can one say for our resident Indiana Jones? A class act, through and through. Take care, the both of you. I hope all the things you've had going on outside of the game go well for you.

Also, lest it be lost in the shuffle ... I want to send out a sincere thanks to Cerillium, and the P2TM folks. I teared up at this, no lie. And while I had to respond in the chat thread with a typically flustered and angry-to-cover-up-the-emotions ic-Nathi (because really, she is a terrible person at the end of the day), I really was incredibly touched by the tribute. Even if I totally do not deserve it.

I'm glad I supported the creation of P2TM, initiated the push for the various chat threads and argued to keep them open, and a number of other things along those lines. You've proven they were needed, wanted, and all of that. The day the powers that be on the site stop listening to what the community wants will be a sad day indeed.

That said, I hope the other mods will keep an ear out for things like that. They don't always crop up in reports, and Moderation posts, and official requests. You have to be out with the users, participating, or lurking, and paying attention to things. Not claiming to be a saint that way or anything else, but its a simple truth that I think all too often gets forgotten or overlooked.

Quick Mod Note: A number of posts in this thread were moved to the evidence locker due to the presence of a DOS player and a desire to keep things On Topic. Active players who may have noticed a post of theirs is missing, fear not. The only mod actions I took were the aforementioned split and the requisite DEAT.

On topic? I already told you this via TG, Nathi, but I've appreciated your help and insight as I've gotten assimilated acclimated onto the Mod Team within the past year or two. Enjoy your RPing, and perhaps we'll see each other around here and again. :)

Czechanada: I'ma hafta get out my hip waders on that one, son. :P But thank you.

The Empire of Khet: Now Feared, I'd buy. XD Thank you as well - I do appreciate it.

Wisconsin9: I didn't either, but here we are. And yeah, that's ok. There's things I haven't agreed with either. And well ... you can see how that turned out. Muahaha. Thankies - see ya on the forums.

Lordieth: Bless you, ya scamp. I rather doubt they think that way, but hey - I appreciate the sentiment. Will see ya out there!

The Black Forrest: Appreciate it - and hell, you never did! There's nothing about 'kiss mod ass' in the acceptance page. At least I certainly dont recall that ... >_>

Outer Sparta: Yeah, I think that may be the only sad part on that - the near match. No worries - I'd rather be seen for my posts than my name color anyway. Take care, and thanks.

Mouse - thankies muchly on the cleanup. Afraid I've no idea, didn't see a thing, but appreciate it all the same. And thank you again for all of the nice as well - you's a good egg. Err, Mouse. >_> Good luck going forward, don't let the not-so-fun bits get to you, and have fun with things, neh?

Aw, you did a great job as a mod- you were one of the first that came to mind (and probably still will) whenever I thought of the NS mods.

You've woven yourself into the history of NationStates ( being an active, integral part of the mod team does that sort of thing) and now we can all be old geezers remembering "back when Nathi was a mod",

Hope to see you around, though I'm not sure if you want to enter the insanity that WorldVision is sometimes :P

Though I've had my problems with you as a Mod in the past (primarily your tendency to treat those that you admonished/warned like children), imnsho you were overall a good mod.
Had this gone down, say two years ago or so, my thoughts probably would have been along the lines of "good riddance"... As I mentioned already, you had done a good job of late of controlling the aforementioned mom-mode tone.
Also, I figure it's worth mentioning that even when I had no use for you as a mod, I still liked you as a person...
