Welcome to one and all for the seventy-third edition of NS Sports oldest and most prestigious competition! In this thread, competing nations may post their squad lists and/or rosters for their national football teams. Entrants are encouraged to provide information about their players, managers, team history, kits, stadium(s), schedule, tactics, and any other useful IC info they deem fit!

Two things.

1. OOC conversations should occur in the World Cup Discussion thread. A link to that thread is available above (under "discussion thread"). Excessive OOC spamming may result in a reset of a competitor's RP bonus, at the discretion of the host(s). Mods, tournament hosts, or appropriate WCC leadership may post organizational information as necessary.

2. As a courtesy to other participants, please complete the following permissions form. When writing an RP, please be considerate of other nations' permissions boxes. Short story long: don't be a dick.

Qualifying - Group Stage

World Cup 73 qualifying will consist of 20 groups, where each team will play the others in their group twice in a double round robin, one team will get a bye considering that we will have seven teams in each Qualifying group: once at home and once on the road. During the first leg of qualifying (MDs 1-7), Groups 1-10 will be scorinated by Stvoto Latoli at 11:00 PM CDT (4:00 AM UTC), while Groups 11-20 will be scorinated by Apox at 2:00 PM EST (7:00 PM UTC). During the second leg of qualifying (MDs 8-14), Groups 1-10 will be scorinated by San José Guayabal at approximately 8:00 PM CST (2:00 AM UTC), while Groups 11-20 will be scorinated by The Royal Kingdom of Québec between 11:30 PM - 1:30 PM EST (5:30 AM - 7:30 AM UTC). The first team listed in each fixture is the home team.

Kaboomlandia Phoenix National Association Football Team

Association football has always been a back-page sport in Kaboomlandia, shadowed by the much more popular ice hockey. In fact, when the team signed up for World Cup 72 last year, the team didn't even bother to disclose the names of their players. All that has changed, with money being poured into development camps for younger players. The team is mostly made up of foot soldiers, but coach Ryan White's patience and unyielding defensive structure could get this team going places.

GK: #1 Duncan McEachern, Age 21, 6'2", 200 lbs
The only superstar on the team, McEachern plays for one of the world's best youth clubs, International FC of Armeia.

Defense:
#8 Marco Ciliano, Age 24, 5'8", 175 lbs
Ciliano is a solid if unspectacular defender for Galturin FC.
#4 John Burrell, Age 28, 6'1", 195 lbs
Burrell is also a defensive stalwart in the backfield for Galturin City.
#3 Darren Cracknell, Age 19, 6'3", 214 lbs
Cracknell is a giant defender for Kolra Royale. He's very difficult to get past.

Midfield:
#11 Julian Epone, Age 17, 6', 200 lbs
Epone is a good ball-mover with size.
#5 Ben Bradbury, Age 20, 5'10", 193 lbs
Bradbury is a decent offensive midfielder, but in Coach White's stifling defensive system, how will he fit in?
#18 Gillian Lapointe, Age 17, 5'6", 154 lbs
One of only two women with a starting position on this team, Lapointe is quick, but is dwarfed by her teammates.
#2 Jared Kessler, Age 21, 5'8", 182 lbs
Kessler is the second-smallest man on the team, at only 5'8", 182 lbs. He plays well in White's defensive system.

Forwards:
#17 Rene Allard, Age 18, 6'2", 197 lbs
The tall forward is the Phoenix' only good scorer, and so he is the only offensive player in Ryan White's system.
#20 Tanner Libin, Age 22, 6'1", 185 lbs
Tanner Libin is a very defensive forward. Coaches like him because of his staunch defensive skills.
#23 Diana Libin, Age 17, 5'6", 143 lbs
The sister of Tanner, Diana is the smallest player on the team, as well as the youngest. She is also a defensive forward.

Reserves:
GK:
#15 Julian Karp, Age 23, 6'2", 217 lbs
Karp is the clear backup behind McEachern. He's been criticized for his conditioning in the past.

Defense:
#30 Sarah Jenson, Age 22, 5'7", 160 lbs
Jenson is the third woman on the team, and the oldest of the three.

Midfield:
#43 Jim Wright, Age 25, 5'11", 180 lbs
Wright was named to this team for his character and ability to come in and work hard.

Forward:
#96 David Daley, Age 21, 5'10", 178 lbs
Daley rounds out the team as the fourth forward. Don't expect to see him much.

Playing Style:
This is where the Phoenix will be made or broken. Ryan White's system is a 1-8-1 formation that will make opposing coaches want to pull their hair out in frustration. It essentially revolves around putting Rene Allard in front and Marco Ciliano in the back, while stacking up the other eight players around midfield to break up any possible pass attempt The sheer amount of offside calls this causes by there only being one person back has actually caused more than one red card to be handed out to their opponents just from screaming at the refs for all the offsides.

Goalkeepers:

1- Bradley Kozak Cooper [Team: Mariner F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 196 lbs - Age: 30 years old - Starter
Cooper was born into a world of soccer as his parents were both players in the National League, Cooper’s father sent him to the prestigious Dock City Soccer Academy at the age of five. Cooper played as a Defender till the age of 15, As a last minute decision his coach made him take the spot of Goalkeeper after the goalkeeper was injured. In the remaining twenty minutes of the game Cooper had over eight saves and his team went on to win the game 3-2 and become his teams new starting goalkeeper. Recruiting agents from the National League watching the game noted Coopers ability as an effective goalkeeper and continued to watch his performances throughout that season. Before Cooper could start yet another season at his academy he was recruited and signed by Riverton F.C a team in the National League. Cooper played for Riverton for nine years and in the middle at age 18 started playing for the United States of Devonta national men’s soccer team as a substitute goalkeeper against in the region of North Valheaven and North America Paradise. At the age of 23 he became the starting goalkeeper and helped make his nations team the #1 ranked team in his region. In a surprising decision Riverton F.C traded him for three players from Mariner F.C where he plays today.

Cooper is known for his ultra fast hand-eye coordination, which allows him to move quickly and almost mystically in the goalie box. The ever observant Cooper is good at keeping track of the ball and can easily perform perfect passes and goalie kicks. Known also to play through pain and refuse to give up or let himself done. He is known to be very caring towards children and is a strong supporter of welfare programs.

7- Brandon Lee Kowalski [Carter Villa F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 170 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Kowalski started playing soccer at an early age at his local recreational centers team. During his highschool years he played on the national stage in the youth soccer league while playing for his high school as the topped ranked varsity goalkeeper in the country. When he graduated at the age of 17 he was instantly recruited by the Carter Villa F.C as a substitute goalkeeper. He has proudly stayed with the team through its worst and last season became the team's starting goalkeeper replacing Tim Snyder. Finally he was chosen to play for the national team the same year. He still waits for a chance to prove himself on the international level.

Kowalski is known for being a very quick and observant goalie and very timid, Usually sticking to the box instead of attacking. He is also known for being very flexible. Kowalski is very loyal to his teams and it can get him in fights against rival teams.

11- Nicolas El Nunez [Santa Julia Rockets]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 152 lbs - Age: 26 - Substitute
Nunez played in local leagues around Santa Julia most of his child life before making it on the Washington Heights High school’s varsity soccer team as a freshman. He played well but also had his bad games. He managed to make it in his cities minor national league team and played well there for most of his soccer career. Finally at the age of 25 after two good seasons he was offered a two year contract by Bull F.C but he rejected it saying he likes the minor leagues friendly environment better and nothing could change that. Nunez did go to the national training camp and managed to do the unthinkable and beat out many of the major league goalkeepers causing a massive upset.

Nunez is known for being cocky which makes him a very aggressive goal keeper sometimes even running at attacking strikers to get the ball, This sometimes backfires on him and they get past him, Although he catches many by surprise.

Left Defenders [Left Fullbacks/Wingers]:

2- Johnson Alexander Brooks [Strickland F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 155 lbs - Age: 33 - Starter
Brooks did not always play soccer but instead played basketball as a point guard which he soon figured out had the same concept as a left winger which he started playing when he tried soccer in 8th grade, After realizing his love for the game he joined a national soccer training program and rapidly gained the skills needed to be a top player in the sport. He played one year for his high school then graduated. After high school he went to college at Desmound State where only in his first season he was recruited by Carter Villa F.C and played seven long years with the team scoring 20 goals as a left winger. As he wanted more opportunity, He played in the nation of Neo-Liberalis for five years on two different teams before returning and being signed with Strickland F.C where he has played his last two seasons at. It was no surprise to soccer critics when the #1 defender in the country was picked for the national team, Making him the oldest member of the team too.

Brooks is known for being quick and waiting for the right moments to strike out at an unsuspecting player and being able to drive the ball up and make quick precise passes or relatively accurate long shots towards the opposing teams goal. Its known by all players in his league that he never brags or acts like a sore loser and always has an upbeat attitude.

3- Jose Manzano Alvarez [Astro F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 164 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Alvarez played soccer in the Youth Soccer League in Santa Julia, New Julia before he started playing for his high school for four years, Although he was considered good and one of the best players in New Julia he was not recruited, But given a scholarship to New Julia University where he played all four of his college years and won one best player award and two best defender awards. After graduation he was finally recruited by a major league team which was his hometowns Astro F.C. Soon after his recruitment into the football club he was invited to the national teams training camp. Alvarez successfully finished camp and was selected to play for the national team.

Alvarez seems to know when to attack another player for the ball or play more cautiously, Making it hard for players to get past him. Despite being able to steal and retrieve the ball he sometimes manages to lose the ball in sloppy fast paced dribbles and does not have the best long passes, Although his speed makes up the distance usually. Alvarez his an active community organizer and donates to charities often.

Center Defenders [Center Backs/Sweepers]:

5- Martin Paul Benton [Middleton F.C]
Height: 6’1 - Weight: 188 lbs - Age: 21 - Starter
A product of Blue River Valley High Schools soccer program Benton arises from high school soccer a three time MVP and many best player awards including many man of the matches. He was instantly drafted as a first round pick by Middleton F.C. During his first season Benton showed his worth as a fast and ultra observant sweeper for his team making many goals that could've been no more by knocking them out of the penalty box. In his second season his team made it to the finals. Benton played admirably till the last ten minutes when he made the mistake of passing the ball to player on the other team, Resulting in a 1-0 loss. Benton was driven to make it in the mens national team by his haunting mistake, That he did and as the second youngest player on the team.

Benton many strengths is is quick agility and his ability to focus on multiple points of the penalty box at one time, It is also not uncommon to see him quickly slide tackle without fouling. Critics have noticed he has gotten more aggressive on the field since his mistake and only passes short precise passes. If there is one thing everyone knows, It is he wants to redeem himself.

6- Daniel Kay Kindred [Nordland F.C]
Height: 6’4 - Weight: 223 lbs - Age: 27 - Starter
Kindred started playing soccer in the 6th grade for his middle school. By high school he made his varsity team his freshman year and in his Junior year was recruited by his state's only professional team Nordland F.C. at the age of seventeen. He was taller than most of the players on his team and known to be intimidating when you meet him. His taller stature also made him a natural born center back. He made himself known in the professional league as a tall player and can beat most in a jumping battle. After five years in Nordland F.C. he was loaned off for three years to a professional team in the nation of Seggenea. After a successful time in Seggenea and a best defender reward in that country, He was given back to Nordland F.C. and played two more seasons and scoring an unprecedented goal from midfield aided by the wind in his returning seasons quarter-finals. Kindred as a natural defender easily made it into the national teams trading camp and was quickly selected.

Kindred's large size makes him an excellent jumper and he his not afraid to throw his weight around or slide tackle with his large feet, Although he can get to aggressive and fouls are a worry when he plays. His mighty long legs make his work as a centre back easy. Attacking he is more clumsy so he chooses to stay on his half of the field unless instructed otherwise.

8- Micco Chi Takishima [Harding F.C]
Height: 5’8 - Weight: 140 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Takishima went to Braden Soccer Academy for most of his youth soccer career, Till his last two years of high school when he was transferred to Wesley Soccer Academy. His performance his last two years got him in a local minor league team for three years, By the time agents came to observe his minor league team he was the best defender on his team and was signed to Harding F.C. and played two average seasons. In the middle of this he joined the national guard and played for his bases soccer team. The experience in the army was different than in the major league although he quickly adapted. Takishima found it hard to get selected for the national team but was ultimately accepted.

Takishima short size make him quick and agile and he is usually on the attack, This has its setbacks sense he sometimes strayed too far from his position as center back and goes to the mid field. He also suffers from anger problems which he tries to control.

Right Defenders [Right Fullback/Winger]:

7- Brayden Liam Jr. [Ceceila United F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 174 lbs - Age: 26 - Starter
Liam started playing soccer at the age of 10, Since then he fell in love. Playing for his high school he received every best player reward from his school for the four years he was there. After high school he played soccer at Ceceila State University for three years before being signed by Danza F.C a professional football club in his junior year. Liam played well for Danza but a rocky third year prompted Danza to trade him to Ceceila United F.C. Coming back from a bad season playing for a different team Liam contributed in his teams championship victory the first year he was on there team. Liam to the offer to go train and try out at the national teams training camp and was a quite easy pick to join the team.

Liam prefers a slow paced controlled dribble and is not as fast as the other players on his team, Although he is the best a dribbling and noted for his crossing capabilities. His slow dribble can be a problem as many players take opportunities to steal the ball, Although his slow pace usually can draw fouls from this. As a Winger his control allows for great passes and shots that are usually on goal.

9- Eric James Martin [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’10 - Weight: 167 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Martin was not introduced to soccer till he decided to try out for his high schools soccer team at a freshman and made junior varsity. The next year he was pushed up to the varsity team and in the next three years. In his senior year his high school won the state championship partly because of him. Martin then went to college at Langston University where he played soccer for two years having an okay first season and a good second season, His performance in the second season of his college career earned him a chance to play for Real Langston F.C which he proudly took and signed with the team for two years. Martin had an exciting but still disappointing first year. He had his good and bad moments and critics were a shocked by his poor performance. Looking for another opportunity to shine Martin found himself at the national teams training camp and was selected for the roster.

Martin is a quick Right Fullback and he is not afraid to challenge an opponent for the ball, Although this can backfire if his opponent is good at crossing but his speed makes up for any lost ground. Martin is known for only being able to play on the right side of the field and normally played poorly in the center and left side of the field.

Defensive Midfielder:

4- Isaiah Brandon Russell [Danza F.C]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 177 lbs - Age: 28 - Starter
Russell’s father was a soccer coach for a local youth soccer program which Russell was made to play on. Russell’s father was very hard on Russell and was pressured often to do better, By the time he was in high school he had already been selected to play for a local minor league team. Russell played four years with the team and also played for his high school's varsity team. After graduating high school he was offered a four year contract to play for Danza F.C, Which he proudly accepted. Playing for Danza he seen the team make it to the semi-finals twice in a row. In a three year loan Danza traded him to Nordland F.C. At Nordland he shined with the rest of its strong defense although he played on the midfield. After three years at Nordland F.C. he was then resigned to Danza F.C. and signed another four year contract similar to his first. Two years into his contract he has seen many successes although his team has seen better days. Russell easily made it on to the national team.

Hernandez begun his soccer career playing for a local youth league team, He left the team during his first year of high school to play for a minor league team. He played up and down seasons for six years, Four of those years he played on his high schools varsity team to. His six season at the age of 20 was his most successful and his team won the minor league championships. Hernandez was signed by Ceceila United F.C and listed in there reserves. During his first season in the reserves he played two games and did well in both. He is suspected to be a starter for the team next season. Hernandez surprisingly was selected to play for the national team after a excellent show at the national training camp.

Hernandez is known for his nice crosses and his ability to slide tackle well, He is not the fastest player but not the slowest either. He struggles with finding and then passing to a man, Whether he kicks it out or down the field if pressured too much.

Height: 5’11 - Weight: 175 lbs - Age: 28 - Starter
Son of two muslim immigrants from a war torn middle eastern nation, Abdullah was born in the United States of Devonta. His father had only brought the clothes on his back and a soccer ball which he passed on to young Abdullah. Abdullah was invited to play for Maxwell Soccer Academy and accepted the invitation. Playing for the academy for most of his child and teenage life, Leading his team to win four championships and winning various awards. At the age of 17 he was drafted as a first round pick to play for Strickland F.C. for four years. He played for four years at the football club for his four years and got his team to the semi-finals twice. After his four years expired he went north to the nation of Rygristan and played for two years, Winning a championship there and a best player award both years he was there. When he returned instead of joining his old team he signed a five year contract with the struggling Mandiana F.C. Four years in his five year contract Abdullah has played very well for the once struggling football club. He has one championship with the team and has been to the semi-finals with the club. Rumors say he plans on staying with the team and resigning when his current contract ends, Although no one can guess what the #1 midfielder will do next.

Abdullah has described himself as a devout Muslim and prays on the side of the field every game. He is known for his versatility on all sections of the field, Defense or Offense, Left or right he can play. Dribbling, passing, crossing, and striking are his main perks. The only thing that brings him down is he can sometimes become a ball hog.

13- Tony Lamont Phillips [Real Langston F.C]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 154 lbs - Age: 24 - Substitute
Phillips played soccer for a youth league team most of his childhood till the age of 17, When he was selected to play for a minor league team. After just one year with the minor league team and a bad season he terminated his contract and started attending Franks University where had two perfect seasons and brought his team to the semi-finals his second year. After his second year he was drafted as a second round pick by Real Langston F.C. and signed a two year contract. Both seasons where good for Phillips and critics noticed he evolved a lot from when he played at a university level. Real Langston made it to the quarterfinals twice but have not made it any further. Phillips herd of the opportunity to try out for the national team and he took it. After much hard work he managed to make the team.

Phillips is known for his ability to mark men and steal the ball with quick reflexes. He knows how to get around people and make long passes, Although he tends only to be good playing in a defensive rule and performance varies when he is attacking. Phillips can get very frustrated at players and officials but usually manages to control it.

15- Anthony Don Crox [Devonta City Capitals]
Height: 5’9 - Weight: 161 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Crox did not start playing soccer till he was sixteen years old, Playing for his local high school team and managing to bring them to two city wide championships both years, But his team lost on the state level. By the time he graduated he received a scholarship to play for Kanza University and he took it over three other scholarships. He played for Kanza University for two seasons and helped them win one championship. After two years he was offered a large contract lasting two years with the Devonta City Capitals, A minor league team. In his first season he played well and his the Capitals made it to the finals but were defeated 1-0. Crox was one of the few minor league players invited to the national teams training camp and in an impressive feat was selected to play for the national team.

Crox is better suited for defense then he is on the offense, That is one reason he plays as a defensive midfielder. Known in the minor leagues for being able to mark men and pass, Although he is also known for being too aggressive and bad crossing. Crox as shown he can learn more from his more professional teammates and is very promising.

Edwards started playing soccer as a little boy playing local neighborhood kids in his backyard. His youth team won two championships and made it to the semi-finals three times, Partly do to Edwards efforts on the team. When he started high school he started to play for his high school team. His high school team went on to win the national championship and his youth team made it to the quarter finals. A year after playing soccer for his high school he left his youth team and joined a minor league team. The next three years he saw his high school team go to three quarter finals and his minor league team make it to the quarter finals twice and semi-finals once, Many critics were not surprised when he was signed to a four year contract with Harding F.C. after he finished his time on his minor league team and graduated high school. The four years playing for Harding F.C. brought four disappointing seasons although Edwards played well and managed to bring his team to the semi-finals his second year. Edwards was loaned out to a team in Seggenea for four years, Managing to led his team there to two trips to the championships losing both. Edwards took the chance to attend the national teams training camp and after beating out some hard competition he was selected to be on the national team and resigned with Harding F.C. hoping for better results.

Edwards is a solid midfielder and is known for his abilities to dribble and control the ball, His shooting abilities from long range and up close are also on par with some of the best, This ability to shoot allows him to be an effective passer also. Edwards struggles to sometimes stay in his spot and sometimes breaks formation.

16- Julius Xander Washington [Mandiana F.C.]
Height: 5’11 - Weight: 171 lbs - Age: 22 - Substitute
Washington begun playing soccer at a young age for local youth leagues around it hometown. When he attended high school he chose to continue to play for local youth teams instead of his high school. When he graduated after limited success in the youth league other than a few awards, He attended George Town State University and played two surprisingly well seasons for his team, Breaking his universities record for assists and sending them to the semi-finals his last year. Before signing a two year contract with Mandiana F.C., An emerging professional soccer club. In his first year as a substitute he played well and helped the team to the semi-finals. Washington was invited to tryout at the national teams training camp and he soon accepted the invitation, After hard work and a determined effort Washington was selected for the national team.

Washington is a moderately fast midfielder who is very versatile, Although he plays better on the offense. His abilities to control the ball and keep it are widely noted. He struggles with finding openings to pass but shows he is willing to learn from more senior players on his team.

Recruiting agents for major league soccer watching one of his games decided to work out a contract with Jones. Jones signed a two year contract with Mariner F.C., In just one season he helped his team to the quarter-finals and became a noted player. Jones is a good passer and knows how to keep tempo with the game. He plays better on the right side of the field and lacks crossing capabilities.

Owens chose to play for Three Forks University and led his team to a semi-final and a championship. After two years playing for his college team he was drafted by Riverton F.C. and signed a four year contract. Since joining the professional football club he has helped his team to the semi-finals and the quarter-finals. After a good season he was invited to attend the tryouts taking place at the nationals teams training camp which he accepted. Owens passed through tryouts relatively easily.

Owens is known for his short burst of fast energy which allows him to get around other players. This also makes him good at crossing, shooting, and passing. He lacks from a defensive standpoint.

Bundy took a shot at tryouts for the national team and was selected after a hard decision.

Bundy is known for being able to play in fast paced type games and can mark players and pass well, This also reflects on his shooting capabilities. He lacks when it comes to defense and ball control.

Johansen’s father was a professional soccer player and loved soccer almost as much as his family it seems like. From his first steps in school he attended Gulf Coast Soccer Academy competing against youth league teams and other academies across the nation. He made himself known across the nation and lead his team to many high profile matches and lead his university to four championships. At the age of seventeen he graduated the academy early after signing with Harding F.C. a professional league team, The contract lasted four years. During his first game he wowed the United States of Devonta with his performance in his first match, He continued to impress to the point it was no longer surprising. It was not soon after his second year he became the #1 ranked forward in the league. Though he played well his team struggled as a whole till a better line up was made and the team made it to two championships, but lost both. He resigned with Harding F.C. for three years and passed easily through tryouts for the national team.

Johansen is known for his fast attacking capabilities, He has noted skills in crossing, ball handling, shooting, and works best in crowded environments it seems. Johansen as great focus and is also a capable all around versatile player his only problem is he tends to not like to pass the ball.

Adams attended the Dock City Soccer Academy most of his child life, He quickly made himself known and became noted around the United States of Devonta, Helping his college expand their soccer dynasty. By the age of 17 he was already in talks with the professional league, He signed with Danza F.C. for two years in a deal that was reported around the nation. Adams became the youngest player in the league when he signed his contract. His first year at Danza F.C. went well but his team only made it to the quarter-finals. Geithner is a slower paced forward and uses his ability to control the ball and dribble as his advantages, He tends to not work well in very fast paced games and is not good a defense. Geithner is good at getting players to foul him too.

Home games will be played at Lord Almighty Gregory National Stadium, the newly rebuilt national stadium in Capital District. It was rebuilt following the Wolfopian terrorist attack (OOC: a false flag by Gregoryisgodistan's government) and seats 175,617. It is a guaranteed sellout for every game since people will be forced to attend if it does not sell out.

These crimes are punishable by death in Gregoryisgodistan. While we are somewhat more lenient for foreigners, if you flagrantly violate them while in Gregoryisgodistan you will be punished severely. Probably fatally. So don't do it. As an example of what is flagrant and what isn't, farting quietly or privately will be overlooked if you are a foreigner, but holding a "Who can have the smelliest fart" contest in public will get all the farters executed.

The team roster, including squad, uniforms, and staff have been announced today by the Penguinish Football Federation (PFF), the governing body for football in the Arctic Union of Witty Penguins. Much of the roster is identical to that of the team's recent 60th Baptism of Fire campaign. Notable changes, however, include the introduction of a new team uniform, manufactured by Sphenisci, a local company who also made the Baptism of Fire uniforms. In addition, there are some changes to the squad - 19 year-old Simon Carson replaces 27 year-old Levi Cobb as a defender, with the latter moving to the substitutes. Lesley Dehart, 27, who was captain of the BoF squad, has been moved to reserves after an injury during a club match. As a result, Pierre Fort will take his position as an attacking midfielder, with Ricardo Fernando moving up from the reserves to be a substitute. The 28 year-old midfielder Ben Knight will assume captaincy until Dehart has sufficiently recovered, if he does while the team is still in the tournament.

Okay, this time for real, right? The Cormorants have never gotten further than the quarterfinals, and what started off as a glorious achievement is starting to weigh on them. And Theresa Riether, as well-loved as she is, still hasn't actually won anything, has she? Nephara seems to be producing more or less the same quality of player, and it's a team that could genuinely hurt the top teams... the question is, will they?

It has to be admitted that qualifying was a close call, as back-to-back defeats consigned Nephara to third at the halfway mark before they rallied to win all their remaining matches. Even then, they needed to rely on an unlucky defeat for Nova Anglicana - the best runner-up of any group - to take top spot for themselves. Still, they kept clean sheets in all but three matches, and the defence has never looked sharper, while Theodora Covenant is on fire in front of goal. It might be a cliche to say they've peaked at the right time but, well, they seem to have.

Summary A dominant presence between the posts, holding down her place under heavy competition. Few goalkeepers in the world are better shot-stoppers than Ballard, and that was evident since her early twenties. But the growth of her ability to control her area, claim crosses and win one-on-ones has been what truly makes her a classy goalkeeper. That said, her distribution is fairly wayward and she's poor with her feet, the main advantage her competition has over an otherwise world-class goalkeeper. Still, she will be a colossus in goal for the Cormorants.

Appearance 5'9", greyhound-thin, lean face and light on her feet. Olive skin and wavy black hair, cut short.
Summary An excellent shot-stopper in the vein of most Nepharim goalkeepers, Caravella is relatively weak coming out for crosses but otherwise fairly well-rounded. She is, in fairness, a little overconfident with her feet, but that hasn't lead to catastrophe yet for the national team. Caravella has taken her chances where they've come, including two World Cup matches in light of Ballard's suspension, and her stellar work in the Trindl Cup has convinced fans that they have a more than worthy number 12.

Appearance 5'11", whippetty, freckled and blond. Every inch the good lad from off the streets come good.
Summary Sabrefell local Pressinger had one match to impress after international goalkeeper Seb Seward had a couple of poor matches and was dropped. He seized the moment and never let go, securing his reputation as an acrobatic shot-stopper, brave coming out for crosses and intelligent distributor, relatively comfortable with the ball at his feet. Pressinger is a very strong goalkeeper and only getting better with time, making his international debut in the Trindl Cup third-place playoff.

Summary Rapidly developing into an iconic figure. Kellard was one of the memes of the last World Cup, noteworthy for the vicious way he bullied opposing centre-halves and aggressively made space for his supporting wingers and midfielders. Not so much of a pure goalscorer - but then, he scored five against Polkopia.

Summary Felix Keller's breakthrough has been late and not entirely convincing, as he's lost his spot to Covenant through qualifying. Still, he isn't to be underestimated. By no means physically imposing, Keller is a silky, technical forward who uses his pace to great effect. As his career has progressed, his former Achilles heel - finishing - has become a strength, and he is, while not world-class, not one to take lightly.

Appearance A mulletted, moustached mountain of a man. True old school.
Summary A depth option, but a useful one to have. Levy is... well, he's 6'7". Not the best technically or with his feet, nor is he quick - but he'll stand his ground against anyone and is happy to lay chances out for strike partners rather than demanding them all himself. Definitely capable of getting goals and laying on assists, but is perhaps not an international-quality striker.

Summary Blindingly quick and remarkably composed in front of goal, Covenant broke through as a teenager and wanted to see what life was like abroad, paving the way for an early transfer away to Osarius. Can play off the shoulder of the last man, but even happier given the trust to float around and play in her support. Despite her lowly number, is the natural choice to make it to the World Cup if 4-4-2 is a viable option.

# 1 Eric Johanson, 23 years old from FC Nordenhagen, not much discussion about him on this squad. Played 4 seasons so far, 2 Sverigan Championships, Vice-Champion in the Thaldorian Championship in 2014. Voted as the most valuable Goalkeeper in 2012, 2013 and 2014 notable for his presence in the game. Made a decent Baptism of fire tourney letting in 6 goals, 4 of them in the last two matches. He was one of the main reasons reaching the semi final of the tourney.
#12 Dimitri Kasimirov, 26 years old from Dynamo Varangia, good keeper with 8 seasons experience and a reputation of one of the toughest players in the squad, good a bad reputation after causing 10 penalties within the 2014 season, granted he hold 8 of 10 but still this was the major reason he was replaced by Johanson, still the better keeper for games against teams who has some kind of reputation and excellent for penaltie shootouts with a quote of 60 defended penalties out of 65.
#22 Christopher Walters, 19 years old, from Royal Albion promising but inexperienced goalkeeper who is mainly in the squad to get experience and additional training. Son of Duke Charles Walters who is also sponsoring the club Royal Albion by a high sum.

#2 Emanuel Baelaris, 22 years old from FC Nordenhagen, fast, intelligent player with the highest assist score in Sverigas history. His Injury 2014 was a major cause for the defeat in the last game against Dynamo Varangia. Again no discussion about his place in this squad. He proved his competence within the Baptism of Fire tourney.
#16 Gunter Reichmann, 22 from Borussia Numerus, more defensive then Baelaris and therefore not settled in the start formation. Borussia played a decent season but not much more then that, partly because he played not at the top of his form.

Inner Defenders
#4 Dimitri Mikalewitsch, 23 years old from Spartak Varangia, one of the most intelligent players in the team with a good eye for the flow of the game. He's one of the Co-Captains and Captain of Spartak Varangia afer the retirement of Viktor Orlov. Can be a bit arrogant at times.
#15 Alexei Zarewitsch, 26 from Spartak Varangia, son of a noble family who decided to opt for sport instead of a live as a priest. Together with Mikalewitsch the best inner defense in the Thaldorian League circuit. Got his start spot, replacing Gustav Helm.
#3 Gustav Helm, 25 years old from Borusia Numerus is nicknamed 'the fortress' for his ability to block nearly all attacks against him. He might be not the brightest player and not a good technician but he's certainly well suited for his spot in the defense. Lost his start place after being the main weakness of the Baptism of Fire team, especially in the last games.
#5 Stanislav Petrov, 24 years old from Dynamo Varangia, like Helm he is one of the tougher boys with 6.2 feet also the largest one in the team. He proved himself in the Final of the last season with a quote of 82 % victories against his counterpart.
Right Defenders
#6 Alexander Hammilton, 22 years old from Royal Albion, intelligent player who works better with Zarewitsch and Mikalewitsch. He's best suited for games against better teams where size doesn't matter that much.
#17 Rupert Bourke, 18 years old from Eintracht Bravoria, young talent that get his first international experience.
Middlefielders:
Right side
#7 Thomas Münzer, 24 years old from Eintracht Bravaria, a workhorse with the pace of a lightning. Most situations went over his position and while he is good he is also a team player. It is rumored that he will play for Dynamo Varangia next season, marking it one of the most important deals of the off season. 2 Assists within the Baptism of Fire, allthough he was lacking presence in the last game.
#18 Milan Markovic, 28 years old from Dynamo Varangia, seasoned player with a lot of experience. He's an old school player, mainly delivering balls towards the striker line but not much more. He's good at it but not good enough for the new intelligent strategy Coach Gudmunson developed. Got a Contract for Borussia Numeria next season.
Central Side
#8 Andre Cassionetta, 23 years old from Inter Geneva, offensive youngstar from La Serrinisima, good enough to be noticed in his second season. While Inter Geneva was defeated in the quarterfinals he has a splendid future. He got a contract from the FC Nordenhagen for next season and he was one of the Star Players in the Squad during the Baptism of Fire. Second best Scorer in the Team.
#20 Tobias Neureuther from Eintracht Bavaria, defensive counterpart to Cassionetta, to small to be a defender, to much of a defender to be a good defensive Middlefielder. That's how most critics are viewing the 18 years old player. He need to find his way and it is his hope that the nomination from Gudmunsen will help him with that. His nomination for the start formation was a surprise. While it is a chance many critics say it is way to early for the young player only time will tell if this was one of Gudmunsens best moves or if the Qualification will be a black spot on the career of Neureuther.
#19 Lasse Torson, from FC Nordenhagen, Cassionettas repclamenent, the 26 year old offensive middlefielder got a decent season, failing to make it a good season against the fortress of Varangia. Not much of a striker but more a creativity player. Against teams with low defense he will most likely replace Cassionetta. On his own wish set on the transfer list and playing for All-Inclusive Haranguer outside of Thaldor.
# 9 Thomas Potrenko from Sparta Varangia, the 24 years old player is famed for his game control without the ball. He's a strategist, a leader and he's one of the co-captains. One of the fairest players to both with only one foul in the last season. However the high expectations were never fullfiled. Therefore he was replaced by Tobias Neureuther in the Starting formation.

Left Side
#13 Alonso Gardora, 25 from FC Nordenhagen, Andorans most valued Player, playing a very good season it was out of question that he would named for the squad. It was no surprise either that he's in the starting formation. Gardora is the quintessence of Gudmunsons dream, a fast player who can score goals but is modest enough to make assists if that suits the team better. He will be most likely the most recognized player on the field. Making a good stand in the Baptism of Fire Tourney, scoring one goal in 6 games.
# 14 Diego Martinez, 19 years old from Eintracht Bavaria, another young player who will mostly be used in the group stage to get experience.
Strikers:
#10 Jakub Svoboda from Dynamo Varangia, the 23 years old striker had the season of his life, 50 goals in 30 games is a statistic difficult to beat. His nomination was no surprise either. He's one of the smaller players and one of the best technicians in the team.
Fullfiled the expectations completely, best goalscorer of the team, best player of the team and nominated new Co-Captain for the World Cup Qualifiers. For most people it is clear that this year will his breaking point, he's not some talented player anymore, he's a star. Recently Dynamo Varangia raised the transfer sum to 30 Million NS Dollar. While his Contract is lasting for six more years there are allready some foreign Clubs interested in him.
#21 Yoshi Kobyashi, 19 years old, again a young player who proved to be promising, one of the few talented players from the Kingdom of Kazushima. Dominated the league there in the last season and will be transfered to Nordenhagen this year. Start Player since the third game making a good impression.
#11 Mirko Vacek from FC Nordenhagen, the 26 years old former partner of Svoboda is transfered to Nordenhagen this off-season. He's the more experienced counterpart and while Svoboda shoot more goals, Vacek is more a specialist for Standards. Still 30 goals aren't that bad either. Never showed his strength within the Baptism of Fire tourney and was replaced by Kobyashi after the second game.
Coach:
Erik Gudmunson, 54. Former Coach of the FC Nordenhagen, his nomination 3 years ago was the end of an Era for the Club who won 10 championships in a row under his reign. He's a visionaire and he detest 'ordinary' training methods. While a fourth place in the Baptism of Fire was way above the expectations he will return as Coach for the FC Nordenhagen after this World Cup stating that 'I'm a Sverigan Coach, not a Thaldorian Coach.'

The Estelarian National Team
- also known as the Stargazers, nickname given after a poll with supporters -

Nation information:

Estelar is a small country, with a long seaside full of popular beaches. The capital city is Observatório, which is one of the few major urban areas of the country, and all matches in Estelar will be played at this city, in the Arena Galática (also called Arena do Observatório), with capacity for 40,000 people. As for attractions in the country, Estelar focuses on two main tourist activities: first, the country is very devoted to the environment, preserving vast forest reserves which are the habitat for rare animals which live in peace without much interference from humans or other sapient species. Therefore, Estelar ended becoming a top place for observing nature, animals, camping, trekking and radical sports involving the environment. There are several small cities that are filled with hotels which serve as headquarters for people who want to explore the forests later. On the north there is also a large dune area, which is also popular for sports. The other main tourism spot is on the seaside cities, close to the beaches which are as much preserved as the countryside. But then the characteristics of the cities and of the tourists change a lot. The hotels are more modern, the restaurants more elitist, and there are entire streets devoted to nightclubs and bars, and some are open 24 hours a day seven days per week. So, a paradise for partygoers and a place where you can meet a lot of people.

The country also has some specific characteristics which focus on the fact that Estelar was founded as a safe haven for women being oppressed and also as a place where nature would have a place to grow without interference. Cars are banned, and since most of the cities aren't really big, with Observatório being one of the few exceptions, people usually go to work or to parties by bicycle, and practically every citizen of Estelar has at least one bike. Also, nearly forty percent of the population is vegetarian, although you can find restaurants which serve meat on every corner. Estelar has dishes which focus a lot on rice, potatoes and beef for the non-vegetarians, although the most popular food in the country is the chocolate, considered to be one of the best in the multiverse, at least on our polls which involved only Estelarian citizens. Also, the majority of the population is composed of women, which hold the top positions in the government and the state companies. There are private companies, but they are restricted to very specific areas in which it isn't worth for the government to control. Laws against prejudice, especially racism, sexism and involving LGBT people are heavily punished: for foreigners it would be an extremely heavy fine, but for Estelarians it would involve going to jail. Once again we mention that the nation was founded by women fleeing hostile places, so there are several laws in order to protect them. For a long time Estelar was a country closed for men, but nowadays there aren't any limitations involving this. However, the country has its flaws: it is not a rich country, and ends being a very expensive country to live in for its citizens, due to the high inflation levels and the difficulties in importing goods: most people end living a humble life with few possessions. Also, healthcare problems have arisen, with a lack of medicines and hospitals, and a huge percentage of people addicted to drugs. Crime is rising due to the recent economic difficulties as well, with the most dangerous frequent crime being adulterated drinks and drugs being sold instead of their real counterparts.

About drugs, all of them are legal in Estelar, and can be sold in every shop. If there is one thing for the Estelarians which is as important as astrology for them, they are parties. Estelarians party a lot and for any reason: if the team wins they party, if they lose they party, if it is a draw they party, if someone lost her job they party, if there was an accident in the busiest street in the city they party, if the planets are aligned in a favourable option they party... well, I think you can get the idea. And in every party there is a lot, a lot, a loooottt of alcohol, with brandy being the top drink choice for most people in Estelar. Expect to see drunk people walking the streets every hour of the day, and loud music coming from office buildings even during commercial hours. Nightclubs and bars are very popular, as Estelar is probably the country with the highest ratio of lesbian clubs and bars per square mile: this is connected to the origins of the country and the liberal attitude which allow people to express themselves: most of the players playing for the Stargazers are lesbians, and love drinking and to party as well. Transgender people also receive full support funded by the country, the reason why many people travel to Estelar in order to transition.

Religion isn't a main issue in Estelar: most religions have official representatives in the country and several temples, but there is not an official one. However, there is one thing that Estelarians believe more than anything: astrology. Astrologers end being the most respected people in the entire country, and usually the president comes from a family of astrologers or is one herself. People usually make decisions considering the astral maps of themselves, of the people involved in the situation and interpreting how the position of the planets during that day would interfere with the decision. It is quite common to hear someone setting a specific day to sign a contract or to go out in a date because in this day the stars would be more favourable. More orthodox families even focus the studies of their children with relation to their zodiac signs, and sometimes people even break up relationships based on lack of astral map compatibility. The Stargazers also work in a similar way: depending on the position of the planets, the coach will change the strategy or even substitute a player who would be affected badly and could not perform well thanks to this astral effect. Predictions are extremely popular in the country and some astrologers are real pop stars, having their own shows and being able to fill stadiums in events in which they attempt to predict important things. Horoscopes also are an important thing in the daily life of the citizens: every person usually stops to read the horoscope before leaving home everyday, to go to work or just to go shopping: it is important to see what destiny is reserving for you, after all. There are days in which people ask to not work in the day due to a bad horoscope, and usually their bosses agree that it is a valid argument. In the subway or while riding their bikes with friends, people are always comparing and talking about the horoscope, and even make analysis of their love relationships based on signs. If someone thinks another person is attractive, the first thing she will ask is probably the sun sign of the love interest.

This leads to some division amongst the people due to their sun signs: Gemini people are considered to be false and not trustworthy, and due to this are the ones people most badmouth about. But it is also curious that it is also one of the most loved signs as well. This love or hate characteristic reflects on politics: Gemini politicians use to be the most popular ones, but they usually face an alliance of people of other signs who want to just stop a Gemini rising positions. Aries people have a bad reputation of confrontative people, who argue and want to be right everytime, and some people prefer to not have relationships with them in order to avoid too much stress. Cancer people also have several problems being considered too emotive, and are excellent for drama soap operas but horrible in other situations... well, practically every person is analyzed due to her astral map, and critics will always happen due to this. The current president is an Aquarius, Melina Carnaval. Talking about her, names and surnames of Estelarians sometimes have a relation with months, signs, commemorative dates, planets and stars. Talking more about the relationship between astral maps and the football team, there is always pressure on the coach that the team must be balanced, which means that it cannot have too many players of a single sign, and that every sign must be represented.

As for the climate, Estelar is a hot country in its entirety. During the winter the minimum temperature that can be reached is 0ºC, but even this is rare, and temperatures can reach 30ºC in the coldest months. During the summer don't expect temperatures less than 20ºC, but you can expect everyday temperatures around 35ºC, although they never reach 50ºC, don't you feel relieved?

1- Daniela "Dani" Abate
Position: Goalkeeper
Age: 23 years old

Dani is one who rose to become a star since she was a teenager. She became the starting goalkeeper of the Estelarian team when she was just seventeen and has kept the position, and now she is considered to be the main player of the entire squad, also becoming the captain. She is excellent at leaving the area and acting like a libero when needed, or at throwing herself on the feet of opponent players. However, she is very eccentric, loving to make plastic saves, high jumps and shouting at the opponents or the referee, which can create her problems. Outside the playing field, her love for brandy is well known, and when going out with her party-partner Vesta, both usually carry each other towards the taxi or the hotel. A bit childish, she hates daily responsibilities, so people always have to remember her of paying her bills or going to the doctor.

2- Sidonie Belini

Age: 29 years old

An experienced player, Sidonie is a calm right defender who knows how to hold the ball and be patient in order to see the best moment to run forward. Sensitive, she seems to have a natural intuition to check which player on the opposite side is not having a good day and can be explored for mistakes, something that her team mates consider to be a psychic ability. And she is proud of this talent, sometimes even showing this on the television, although she never asks for money to give predictions or deep analysis using her powers. Her mohawk hair is her trademark, and several fans have copied her style around Estelar, and people consider her to be an example of someone in touch with the stars and an example for children.

3- Leona Ferran
Position: Centre-back
Age: 31 years old

More controlled than her team mate Ariana, Leona is the one who organizes the defensive sector of Estelar and commands it. She is a natural leader and the second option for team captain after Dani, and actually if things were decided correctly she would be the captain. She is one of the most experienced players, knowing how to give orders and organize people around her, and is a very balanced person who is trustworthy and hardly loses her temper, giving some pretty good speeches to motivate her team mates. Leona usually stays deep at the Estelarian defence, ready to be the last defender of the team before the opponents can reach Dani. Apart from her fame as a defender, Leona is also the president of the Players' Association of Estelar, and is also a politician, although currently on unpaid leave due to her responsibilities in football.

4- Ariana Pacheco
Position: Centre-back
Age: 22 years old
Sun: Aries - Ascendant: Scorpio - Moon: Pisces
Mercury: Aries - Venus: Taurus - Mars: Cancer
The brutal defender, Ariana is strong and doesn't forgive anyone. She seems to have a natural anger which she focuses on her opponents, and never gives up on trying to take the ball from an opponent attacker. Due to this she ends making too many fouls and receiving too many cards, but she is not violent... it is not that she wants to hurt the opponents, she just tries hard and attempts everything when defending. She came from a very poor neighbourhood in a foreign country, and she was able to find a better life in Estelar with foster parents, and even found in football a way to release her feelings and have something to enjoy and forget the difficulties, so Ariana's story is always a motivational one.

5- Éris Dezon
Position: Defensive midfielder
Age: 19 years old

Seen as the biggest talent of Estelar in years, Éris is the true guardian of the defensive field of the team, ready to surprise an opponent with a precise tackling, which is her main ability. Very confident in her abilities, this sometimes makes her too arrogant, and she is often seen arguing with opponents, whom she loves to provoke into fights, or even her team mates when she thinks they made a mistake, but some people consider this to be just immaturity. However, her friends really like her and she seem to be someone people like to be together, when not playing football, of course. She also likes to discuss astrology, and loves to make jokes regarding signs.

6- Nicole Luna
Position: Left-back
Age: 27 years old

Nicole seems to be an independent part of the team, who acts not strictly related to the team's strategies, and she really works better this way. This doesn't mean that she is individualistic: she is very loyal to her team mates and is always looking for ways to make good moves to help Estelar, but sometimes attempts to put more flair with her moves, a practically artistic need. Very honest, she always speaks her mind and never discusses with the referee or another authority figure, and admits when she has made a mistake or broke the car of her friend last night. In her daily life Nicole usually attempts to be off the spotlight, and not much is known of her personal habits.

7- Christine "Chrissie" Hacker
Position: Central midfielder
Age: 25 years old

A defensive midfielder who usually plays more offensive than her position partner, Hacker is an important link in the team between defence and offence. She has a good vision of the playing field, and excellent dribbling qualities, so she can keep the ball until she sees Beatrix (preferred choice) or one of the three attackers available. She is one of the members of the squad who are very devoted to astrology, and she even attempts some readings, although she confesses that she is still learning, but will always love to talk about signs and horoscope. She is also vegan, and her internet profile is extremely popular with hints of the best vegan food to accompany each specific positioning of planets in your birth chart.

8- Vesta Robles

The starter striker of the team, and the target woman for Estelar: most plays started by the team will try to reach her in the end. And there are reasons for this. Vesta has a good positioning and a very, very strong kick, with her finishes always being more powerful than accurate, but in the end this works well. Tall, she is also good at heading. A very popular player in the country, Vesta is always on the headlines: if not for a good performance in a match, then it is for a wild night out with Dani, her party-partner. Fond of beers, she always tries at least one new brand in every country she visits, until she is unable to remember her own name so perhaps it is best to stop for the day. Also very flirty, so usually she ends meeting new friends when going out at night. She is also a leader in movements defending transportation by bicycles.

9- Augusta Dreher

Ferocious on the field, we can consider Augusta to be really a player hungry for the ball. This can lead to difficulties, since she sometimes holds the ball for too long and this leads to some missed opportunities. As the right winger, Augusta is good at serving her team mates, but she sometimes attempts individual plays in which she uses more her strength than dribbling, practically stomping the opponents to reach the area and attempt a finish. Another one of the squad who loves going out for some drinks, Augusta is also one who always has to smoke, and in places where tobacco is forbidden she has to take a huge amount of pills to control her desire. And, if permitted, she will even smoke on the field. She is also a very serious person, who respects her coach and team mates.

Age: 23 years old

The brain of the team, she is a genius both on football and outside it, already being a doctor on physics and participating in some of the biggest and most influential researches done by Estelar in the scientific field. Due to this, Beatrix often misses several trainings as she has a deadline for updates on her research. But this doesn't affect much her performances. As a player she is the playmaker of the team, calculating which moves will work better against an specific team and being the spokesperson for the coach, even though Dani is the captain. By the way, her relationship with Dani is one of love and hate, as she is a very organized and emotive person, and it is usually difficult to deal with the childish, selfish and drunk attitude of her team mate, who is also her ex-girlfriend. Critics on her performance usually depress her, so she avoids reading the news during a competition.

11- Imogene Gallacher
Position: Left winger
Age: 20 years old

The "left foot of doom" for the opponents, as many people in Estelar call her, Imogene is often seen as the second best attacking player of the country. She can aim the ball perfectly, so her main qualities are in set pieces and crossings, and many of them will be aiming to reach Vesta inside the area. Very extroverted, Imogene usually is seen as the clown of the team, making jokes even during the match and sometimes making provocative commemorations after scoring. Besides being a football player, Imogene loves mechanics, and many times she helped the team to fix vehicles or exercise machines which got broken. Very determined, Imogene is a player who respects the tactics set by the coach, although she is not shy in taking risks.

A natural choice for substitute goalkeeper, Vênus brings the experience of once being the top player at the position in the country before the rise of Dani. Much more solid and serious than her Gemini team mate, Vênus has a strong sense of hierarchy and professionalism: she respects every advice from her coaches and always gives her best, focusing her job at only making saves, avoiding selfish shows or some risky moves. She is an idol at her club, and even has a statue inside the stadium's museum. In her personal life, her marriage with a former team mate has several fans by itself, with people following their every step.

The left-back position in Estelar is curious, because the squad has two very offensive players who love to use technique and beautiful moves in order to send the ball to the attack, which is not always, and perhaps few times, the best option. Adele is considered to be a true jewel for the future of the Stargazers' defensive sector, but some people are worried with her personal development: she spends too much of her recently-conquered wealth, buying car after car, apartment after apartment and getting tired of the new one as quickly as she got tired of the previous one. She likes to show that she is now rich and confident, and attract a lot of people this way.

14- Carolina "Carol" Andromeda

Age: 26 years old

Experienced centre-back even though she is not old, Carol's a very balanced player, without major abilities of note. She just does her job, and does it well. However, sometimes on the field she gets very emotional when defending her team mates, easily getting into a fight if a friend is involved or crying when she sees an ugly injure. So, her emotions are very fluid, from angry to sensitive, and this can affect her performances as well. She may play some matches, as the coach usually puts an extra defender when needing to hold a result, and Carol is the right woman for that.

15- Colleen Winter

There was a true fight for the starting defensive midfielder position between Colleen and Éris, two young and very promising players. Colleen lost, but her colder attitude may put her back on the starting eleven, since Éris is an overconfident hothead and Colleen is a machiavellian heartless woman... yes, things look a bit dark for this specific position, but this has advantages. Colleen works for the win: no feelings, no inventions, just work. She is a workaholic: there are few sightings of her on restaurants or other leisure places, and in all these places she always comes and goes without saying a word to reporters.

16- Sarah Rosas

Age: 33 years old

People really like Sarah, and this may be the reason why she was called. The right-back position probably is the weakest in Estelar in number of options, and Sarah is far from being a star in both this National Team and her current domestic team. But she is liked, and this makes her a great team player. She is very supportive of people, listens to their worries and always comes with nice words to help or motivate them. She is considered by many to be the mother of the younger players, sometimes even scolding them after mistakes. And, by the way, she has returned recently from a pregnancy, so she didn't receive much playing time in the last months.

17- Ceres Vlindmann

Ceres is quite the opposite of Beatrix: the second is an intelligent and patient player, while the first is a strong and excellent dribbler. Ceres doesn't waste time in producing an offensive move, and she is hardly taken down by a defender because she is big, very big, tall and muscular, and she claims that this is thanks to the fact that she drinks at least three beers per day... and of course, a lot of workout and supplements. However, she is not a brute: she also shows great interest in the tactical aspects of the game, and in this search for knowledge she will probably want to be a coach in the future.

18- Gia Cruzeiro

A very good player, Gia is probably the most technical player of the entire team, one with huge abilities in making humiliating dribbles on the opponents and beautiful goals. But she hates rules, tactics, and team mates in general. She plays for herself and hates orders, preferring to be free to do what she likes, so she ended on the bench, and is brought when the team really needs someone talented who can make a difference alone. Gia is also very problematic, a heavy user of drugs which have put her on rehabilitation centres twice already. She easily argues and fights with anyone, and a misplaced comment suddenly gets under her skin and makes her an enemy, and she never forgets. Well, what would you expect with this mix of signs... Aries, Scorpio, Gemini...

19- Amber Gondelle

Amber has just started her footballing career, even though she has already 20 years of age. Before that, she was a bartender in one of the greatest clubs in the capital in Estelar, and before that a top student in philosophy... but she likes challenges, because she can be good at practically anything and things tire her. And this is working in football as well, in which Amber has a great future... if she really wants to stay playing. But on the relationship with other players she is very nice, and considered to be the best poker player, because this is also another thing she is very good at.

20- Isabel "Isa" Santiago

Isa and Carol are team mates in the domestic league, and they make a good pair of solid defenders, with similar styles which are efficient together. However, Isa has an history with injuries and this ended putting her as the fourth option in the position. But she works hard and is very ambitious, and due to this always comes back strong after injuries. Isa is also a very good header, and few people win an aerial battle against her. However, recent personal difficulties have arisen which have affected her performance: the death of her sister after a car accident, so she avoids car trips whenever she can.

21- Shane Medina

The typical lethal striker. One who isn't a dribbler or someone with nice moves to confuse the opponents, but one who finishes well, really well, especially inside the area. But the ball has to reach her after all for her to show this clinical ability, and so she usually gets playing time only when Estelar is playing with two strikers, with one more talented supporting her and trying to give her assists. A very mediatic player, she is one who loves giving interviews or interacting with her fan clubs, as she also has a career as an actress and has conquered the hearts of many women who follow her jobs, both of them.

April comes from an entire family of astrologers, and thus is considered to be the one closest to the stars, and who can help predicting things for her friends. Probably she will be the one who will take a look at the birth charts and the position of the planets on the starry sky and elaborate the horoscopes for each matchday. As a football player, she doesn't have the same ability of Imogene and will probably only play in special conditions, due to injury or when the win is already guaranteed... but she is fast, very fast, even though she isn't as young as before.

23- Callisto Parra

Quite a dreamer, Callisto hopes one day to be the starting goalkeeper of Estelar... but, well, this is really a dream right now. Not that she is a bad player, she is a solid goalkeeper and has good statistics, but competition is too difficult for her. But, even though she has these ambitions, she keeps being a generous and nice person to her friends. She knows she is just adding numbers in the squad, but remains happy and proud just to be part of the National Team. She is cute, a nice friend to have after all, I like her too.

24- Áquila Lacerda

Age: 35 years old

Áquila is a versatile player. So, although she is listed here as a centre-back, she also plays really well as a defensive midfielder. So, thinking about this, it is natural to realize that as a defender Áquila plays more up front, challenging the opponent attackers and even attempting several times to go to the opposing area during an aerial move... well, she isn't that sucessful, but sometimes scores one goal or another. The oldest player of the squad, Áquila is one who can control the ball well and resists a lot of pressure, and will also shield more controversial characters with excuses to the press.

25- Ellen Castor

Age: 21 years old

The last number but, as everyone, not quite everyone but a lot of people anyway say, last but not least, Ellen is a promising player... since five years ago she has been a promising player and still is a promising player. Time is passing, and she really needs to do well in an opportunity to finally be praised as more than a player for the future and avoid becoming a flop. As a central midfielder, she is good at moving around and participating both defensively and offensively, so can be a good weapon when facing fast opponents. Also, on her personal life Ellen is known as the top billiards and pool player of the Players' Pool Challenge, and she loves to play during parties.

Jupiter is very ambitious, and very demanding, so even though the team is still unexperienced she will expect a lot from them and complain to the players if things go wrong. She is a tactical coach, so will try to make the players behave in specific strategies and moves. But she has a softer side, of course: she always brings her daughter to the matches, and is a good Monopoly player, which means she is someone nice to have during team meetings!

History of San Llera
San Llera has a long and storied history and has always had a passion for the game (In fact, the native peoples of San Llera claim to have invented soccer, though their claim is rarely recognized or even acknowledged). However, San Llera has only participated in the World Cup. Just prior to that World Cup, San Llera participated in its first international tournament, a tournament for newcomers entitled the Baptism of Fire. The Baptism of Fire started very well for San Llera with a perfect 5-wins-in-5-games group stage, but the 1-seed San Llera was knocked out in the round of 16 by 16-seed Flardania. It was a disappointing end to their run, but it still left San Llera confident that they could do well in World Cup Qualifying. Unfortunately, they were often left at the mercy of more experienced nations, and San Llera disappointed their hopeful fanbase with a mere 11 points in 14 games, not even coming close to qualifying for the World Cup.

In San Llera's second attempt at qualifying for the World Cup, they hoped to do a bit better now that they had some experience, but they disappointed once again. With 14 points, a small improvement, they left qualifying in sixth place and without a ticket to either the World Cup or the Cup of Harmony. However, they did settle for an invite to the Runner Cup, where they found more success against weaker opponents, eventually being outed in the semifinals but finishing third in the tournament, the best finish for a San Lleran team at any sporting event to date. San Llera looked to ride that momentum into their first regional competition, the Copa Rushmori. But they didn't ride momentum. Instead, they lost three games out of three, none of which were particularly close. But after San Lleran teams found success in other sports, the soccer team hopes to replicate that in this tournament.

As for the history of the nation itself, here is an excerpt from the national factbook:
"San Llera came into existence as the natives rose up against their overseas captors in 1857. After a bloody coup which resulted in the beheadings of most foreign government officials, San Llera remained stagnant as the natives returned to their old ways. The first president of San Llera was Dorano Trecci, a member of the Homeland Party. Parties have since been outlawed in San Llera. Recently, with the "presidency" of Alejandro Llano, San Llera has experienced a boom in population and economy along with urbanization. However, the people maintain their old traditions today."

Travel Guide
Should you be traveling to San Llera, here are some tips and information:
-The only airport in San Llera is Llerana International Airport, which is nine hours away from the stadium. Should you be traveling to qualifiers, it is recommended that you fly to one of the airports in the surrounding countries and then take a boat to Port Cremando, a pleasant city that is within walking distance of the stadium.
-In terms of language, San Llerans mostly speak San Lleran, a close relative of Catalan. Catalan- and Spanish-speakers should be able to communicate rather easily, and many San Llerans know English, as linguistics is one of the most popular studies in the nation. In general, people will be very hospitable towards you if you make an attempt to learn their language. If you don't, San Llerans can be very bitter.
-The color red is no longer banned in San Llera, but it is still highly discouraged that you wear it, as it may lead to hostility from San Lleran fans. Any other visiting fans not wearing red will be treated with warmth.
-A common mistake visitors make is calling the people of San Llera "Llerans." Do not do this! A Lleran is a specific race in San Llera (races in the country are based on soccer team allegiance, not color of skin), and Llarens or Patrians will take great offense.

Camp a L'aigua ("Field on the Water") Capacity - Unknown

You may notice that this stadium has no stands. While San Llera has plenty of modern stadia (with stands) to choose from, the site of soccer for thousands of years is the national stadium. Located in the Cremando Mountains on the giant Lake Aigua, the lack of stands does not prevent fans from coming out to see their team play. Fans will crowd any land they can find. Some passionate fans go out on boats to find space, others tread water for two hours. One infamous match against rivals Telsta resulted in 120,000 people catching a glimpse of the match in whatever way they could. La Rock ("The Rock") is not pictured, but provides a beautiful view and is a symbol of San Lleran independence.

Great Leader Alejandro Llano - Doesn't actually do anything
Head Coach Marko Vujvic - After former head coach Jon Lleranerus sadly fell into a coma and died, his loyal assistant Marko Vujvic became the interim whilst San Llera looked for a replacement. That replacement ended up being Vujvic himself. Vujvic is not from San Llera, which garnered a lot of controversy when he was hired, but the people of San Llera have come to quite like the coach. He is outgoing yet calm and known for his tactical skill, making him the polar opposite of his predecessor.
Assistant Coach Pietro Madonna - No relation to singer, Madonna is very good at helping to develop young players. He is the only coach San Llera has who is adept at making players better.
Assistant Coach Pere Dissa - A very similar coach to the deceased Lleranerus, Dissa is passionate and very outspoken about his beliefs. Players coached by him tend to be very conditioned.

GK Denis Thoda - 20 years old -

Cenial Liberty - Easily San Llera's most promising young goalkeeper, Thoda missed the Di Bradini Cup with an injury but is now healthy and better than ever. His insanely quick reflexes and success at Chell SC earned him a transfer to Ceni, where he will look to continue his success.
LB Jacque Olivier - 29 years old -

Llerana SC - San Llera's pool of left backs is remarkably shallow, and they will have to settle for Jacque Olivier to start this World Cup. It's Olivier's third appearance in this tournament, so he has plenty of experience, but he hasn't been particularly good. He is famous for being one of the most unspectacular players, and people in general, you will ever meet. Left back may be a weakness for the Swagfish this tournament.
CB Alexandre De Gonia - 29 years old -

Llerana SC - "The Soviet Swan" is the dirtiest player on the team, and will slide tackle anyone in sight. However, those who know him will tell you that he's a very kind, gentle, and romantic man. But if you see him on the pitch, you will start to doubt this.
CB Gerard Quella - 26 years old -

Scottopia City - Four World Cups ago, Quella was a shock selection who nobody had heard of. But solid World Cup play and his team's inclusion in the inaugural season of San League Soccer have made him an established player known for his clever passing. Now Quella is in his third World Cup, and he has emerged as perhaps San Llera's best center back.
RB Antoni Belles - 24 years old -

Granger Dragonites - Belles is a young speedster that loves to overlap with winger and put in crosses but often gets caught in possession. However, he recently has been better at getting back on defense and not acting his age. Impressive San League soccer performances lured him overseas to Granger Dragonites in the Northern Sunrise

LB Pau Milla - 31 years old -

Cremando Llera - Just a couple years ago, Milla was still playing street soccer in the tiny village he was brought up in. Since then, he has been discovered and given a spot on Cremando Llera, who he helped to a shocking 3rd place San League Soccer finish with his excellent awareness and flashy ball skills. Milla was called up for the last World Cup but only has four career caps, and he will hope that he can get more if Olivier continues his mediocre performances.
CB Marc Abello - 33 years old -

Pantans - Once a prodigy, a horrific injury stopped his progress but he has worked his way back onto the national team. Then he came back and became one of the best defenders on the national team, with his great passing ability and acute awareness. Abello is thrust into a backup role this World Cup not because of his decline but because of the emergence of other players at his position.
CB Robert Rivello - 22 years old -

Llara Llera - A Di Bradini Cup star, Rivello is now earning his first call-up to the national team. He is a very feisty defender, a bit dirty at times, but in a good way. Opposing strikers should fear him.
RB Amerigo - 21 years old -

AS Mantegapa - Another player from the fourth-place Di Bradini Cup team that earned a call up, Amerigo is seen as a somewhat experimental addition to the team, and he won't play too much barring an injury ahead of him. If he does play, Amerigo is an excellent crosser of the ball and a very hard-working player, but sometimes tries to run up and down the flank too much.
LW Martini Saragosa - 32 years old -

AS Mantegapa - Saragosa definitely breaks the mold for traditional wingers. While most at his position are fast and dynamic on the ball, Saragosa is slow and rarely dribbles very much. However, he is an incredibly good passer that manufactures many San Lleran attacks, and is the all-time assists leader for San Llera by a considerable margin.
CM Enric Bou - 22 years old -

Real Old Maiz - After breaking out as an 20-year-old in the last World Cup, Bou is looking to play even better in this one. And his recent club play has indicated that he will be one of the best San Llera players in this World Cup, after starring in the San League and moving to Zenic with Real Old Maiz. Bou, while still a bit lanky, is well beyond his years in passing.
CM Hector Fonda - 27 years old -

Hasilpur Ox's - "The Sponge" is one of the most popular players on San Llera, and he backs that popularity up with his talent. Fonda is rough, tough, and a beast in the defensive midfield who is feared by attackers and makes the defenders' lives much easier. He has also recently developed very nice chemistry with Bou, his partner in central midfield.
RW Don Llorens (VC) - 33 years old -

Llerana SC - Llorens, still probably San Llera's best player, was widely criticized four years ago when he played horridly in the World Cup. But he rebounded, and showed his talent in World Cup 72. Now, Llorens is aging, but still might be the best player San Llera has to offer, with his wide array of skills in shooting, passing, dribbling, and pretty much anything imaginable.
LW Pelechamchas - 28 years old -

Chell SC - What Pelechamchas lacks in pure talent, he makes up for in pure speed. The 6'4" winger isn't the greatest natural soccer player in Rushmore or the world, but he is a beast in the air with his height and nearly impossible to keep up with for defenders. He is admittedly not great defensively, but the offensive threat he offers with his speed and excellent ability to whip in crosses, never mind use his six feet and four inches to latch on to crosses, earns him a place on the team.
CM Oscar Cardona - 24 years old -

Patria Poble - he star on San Llera's first Di Bradini Cup, Cardona has all the tools to be a great center-mid, with good vision, silky passing, and flashy dribbling. He is also, reportedly, a great locker room presence, unlike the player that he replaces in this roster.
CM Teodor Alemany - 23 years old -

Klyde - With Cardona, Marko Vujvic also put his U-21 partner in the midfield, Teodor Alemany. Alemany is a defensive midfielder of the San Lleran mold, being rough and not afraid of anybody. He is currently plying in trade in Cosumar with Klyde.
RW Guifre Gil - 31 years old -

Chell SC - Gil is an incredible dribbler and favorite of the fans, but stuck behind Don Llorens on the depth chart. He is also coming off of a bad injury, and needs to be eased back into form. And unfortunately for the eccentric winger, there won't be much time for him on the field to get back into form.
ST Carles Mestre - 27 years old -

Familia Llano - Mestre, at his best, is clearly the starting striker for San Llera and perhaps the best player on the team. However, Mestre at his worst doesn't deserve to be in consideration for the roster. Marko Vujvic will certainly hope he gets the good side of the 5'1" striker this World Cup.
ST Jan Capo - 26 years old -

Chell SC - Jan is talented but has attitude problems. At the age of 20, Capo was caught on camera killing a man outside of a nightclub, and he was promptly convicted of murder. Then, in a strange turn of events, he was pardoned by Great Leader Alejandro Llano. Capo is now a free man, but seems to be on a course back to jail based on his track record of fights and off-field incidents.
ST Bellemurillo - 22 years old - Unattached - Bellemurillo, currently a free agent, was the leading goalscorer in San Llera's last Di Bradini Cup, which earned him a call-up to the national team. He is incredibly speedy and smart with his speed (in terms of making clever runs) but not a fantastic finisher.

Manager: Andreas Jansen, 42
A definite national footballing hero of Semarland, both playing wise and managing wise, Andreas Jansen became the first ever manager to lead Semarland to the World Cup finals. A somewhat surprise appointment following the resignation of Henrik Jensen, who has gone on to manage Molsbik Arkjet, fortunately Andreas Jansen stepped in. Having already done his coaching badges before, it came as a surprise that he was appointed so early yet being a qualified coach. He proved the doubters wrong as he lead Semarland into the World Cup group stages, via the playoffs after finishing second in their group, defeating Buyan in the aforementioned playoff in an inspiring second-leg victory. He’s looking to have a solid AOCAF performance too, before going onto the next World Cup which Semarland will hope to qualify for again.

Assistant manager: Tunde Ajayi, 44
44 year old Tunde Ajayi is no stranger to the world of assistant managing. Ajayi was previously the assistant manager at Eikborg Club for four years, leading them to higher positions. Capped by Semarland 28 times, scoring twice, in his playing days he often featured at centre-back or in defensive midfield, earning him the nickname “the brick wall.” Like Jansen, he’d be interested in remaining in the coaching setup for a while - maybe as a first-team coach or just as a general tactical coach. One thing that will delight the SFA is his experience and professionalism - despite his rather young age, he has been involved in coaching setups for eight years, since he was 34 when he retired due to a knee injury. As well as being the assistant manager of the side, Ajayi is also the head coach of FC Jansberg U14s, with his children Kunle and Ibrahim playing just a few age groups below.

PLAYERS:
#1 – GK – Marco Valbuena – Age 25 – CSKA Quebec (QUE) – 27 caps
Marco Valbuena is a classic example of starting from the bottom and working their way up. He was Aalemark Sport from U10 to U16, before signing his scholarship at Adjurgen, before completing it at Krsthaven, who signed him after some impressive displays. He then shone at the Di Bradini Cup and signed for FC Chippenham in the Sarian, where he was their regular goalkeeper and now is the first choice for the national team. Impressive displays in the previous World Cup qualification campaign saw manager Andreas Jansen decide to give him the Number 1 shirt after the retirement of Andreas Mikkelsen. But Valbuena must beware, as there is a long line of goalkeepers snapping at his heels. Andreas Jansen rested him for the most recent AOCAF, giving Valbuena’s deputy Blaise N’Zonzi a chance to shine. During this period he signed for Quebecois side CSKA Quebec and returned to international action in the Trindl Cup invitational, where he made two out of six appearances.

#2 – DR – Johan Huxley – Age 19 - FF Berafjörðinn (BLK) – 2 caps
When Eirik Malsen retired, people expected Knut Svensson to take over but the current SC Kiel full back decided to step down from the national team to give younger players a chance – something he never really got when Malsen was around. Many expected Nathaniel Oseni to wear the number 2 shirt for this campaign, but Jansen instead has given it to 19 year old Johan Huxley, who despite making only two appearances in the Trindl Cup – he was very impressive against Audioslavia and Pasarga. Part of Copenbrok Klub’s 2Ligaen winning side, he signed for FF Berafjörðinn of Bleak Rock recently – which some may consider a strange destination. But if he plays well there and for the national team, perhaps he will move onto a bigger club?

#3 – DL – Matur Eiriksson – Age 25 – St John’s Arsenal (QUE) – 93 caps, 1 goal
At 25 years old Matur Eiriksson is already seven caps away from the 100 caps mark – and it’s understandable why. Having made his national team debut aged 17, three months after his first team debut for FC Jansberg, then manager Henrik Jensen called up the prodigy instantly after he impressed for Semarland’s U21 side. Impressive performances over FC Jansberg saw him move over to The Sarian where he played for Marlborough City until their and all other clubs in the country liquidation. Now a free agent, he was quick to sign for Quebecois side St John’s Arsenal where he looks to impress in the LigAnaia. Widely known for his fiery temper as well as his undeniable skill, there have been a few altercations resulting in him getting sent off. He’s also capable of filling in at centre-back if needed.

#4 – DC – Soren Pedersen – Age 29 – Wrexton FC (APX) – 38 caps, 1 goal
Naturally a calm and composed defender, he is pretty much the polar opposite of his uncle and current defensive coach, Johannes. Relaxed and classy on the ball, he is more than happy to whip the ball away from a centre-back. Lately he has got a little more tough in the tackle, as he reaches the peak of his career. Impressive performances for Lusenhagen saw him jump off the sinking ship and sign for Apoxian side Wrexton FC, where he has been an instant hit among fans. With the Karbruck-Lunds partnership a tough one to crack, it’s only really now where he has been given is full chance after being more of a rotational centre-back. But with highly rated prospect Martell Chalobah snapping away at his heels, this could be the last World Cup Andreas Jansen will use him as a main centre-back.

#5 – DC – Jakob Lunds – Age 27 – Exton FC (APX) – 92 caps, 3 goals – JOINT VICE CAPTAIN
One of the best examples of a player overcoming rejection, Jakob Lunds has a truly amazing story. At the end of his U13-U14 contract, he was released by giants FC Jansberg but quickly signed for Fransborg set Njilkaer. Progressing through the academy, he went on to sign his scholarship then a professional contract at the club before making his national team debut in his early twenties. Impressive performances for Fransborg alerted Apoxian giants Exton FC – whom he signed for and has been a regular since. The same goes for the national team, he has gone onto make 92 appearance and score three goals in the past seven years, and after the retirements of Eirik Malsen and Jakob Lunds, he is joint vice-captain alongside Demba Cisse.

#6 – DMC – Marcel Labonne – Age 24 – Red Star Severny (PIS) – 33 caps, 5 goals
Tipped to be Semarland’s next midfield general, when you watch Marcel Labonne play it’s very easy to see why. A graduate of the famous Krsthaven academy, Labonne worked his way up into the first team where he was the rock of Krsthaven’s title-winning midfield for two seasons running. Teams across the multiverse were soon interested in him, and after plenty of deliberations, he signed for Polarian side Red Star Severny, where he will form an exciting partnership with Polarian midfield prospect Olivier Moscovitch. Funnily enough, Red Star’s manager is Labonne’s childhood hero Petter Bielsen, whom he looks to impress. Comfortable from the penalty spot, Labonne also has a tendency to score a few goals from outside the box. His younger brother Dieudonne, a first year scholar at Krsthaven, is also very highly regarded.

#7 – ML – Abel Nkutu – Age 27 – Hastmead Diamante (OSR) – 32 caps, 3 goals
It’s quite surprising to think Abel Nkutu hasn’t really been included that much in previous World Cup squads, but now under Andreas Jansen he is getting involved more and more with the national team. Not essentially a flashy winger, he’s more of a player that makes very good runs and has pinpoint-accurate crosses, with a powerful shot as a bonus, too. Initially starting out at FC Kolberg, where his younger brothers goalkeeper Jonah and striker Carmelo, and twin defenders Isaac and Serge play (except the former two, who have now moved elsewhere), Abel signed for FC Jansberg after impressive performances, but moved back a couple of seasons later. After Kolberg’s new manager Jonathan Jantev led them to poor finishes, he handed in a transfer request and signed for Osarian side Hastmead Diamante where he looks to embark on a new journey.

#8 – MC – Demba Cisse – Age 29 – RSK Longyearbyen Town (PIS) – 95 caps, 25 goals – JOINT VICE CAPTAIN
Burst onto the national team scene in the Baptism of Fire, at the time he was a relatively unknown figure in Semar football, as Demba Cisse played for then second-division side FC Nuholm. However, the season before the tournament he single-handedly led them to successive promotions from Lig1 to the 2Ligaen then the 2Ligaen to the Premarligaen. A creative attacking midfielder with an excellent pass, in the past couple of years he has switched to a more balanced role in central midfield, which is understandable considering the futures of the likes of Marc Strand and Rene Claro-Hunt. After leading FC Nuholm to their highest finish ever, in 4th place, he was swiftly snapped up by Polarian side RSK Longyearbyen Town, where he will look to bring flair to the somewhat more gritty Polarian league.

#9 – ST – Jakob Lindesfarne – Age 26 – Ulsa (EUR) – 27 caps, 21 goals
The greatest example of a player starting from the bottom and working their way up to the top, the past six years have been a complete whirlwind for Jakob Lindesfarne. At 20 years old he was playing non-league football for Knaben Town, but was hitting in 50 goals per season for the club. He was swiftly picked up by Arkrau Klub, where his goalscoring talents led them to promotion to the Premarligaen. Over at Krsthaven, where they lacked a reliable goalscorer following several departures, they risked money on Lindesfarne where he was an instant hit, scoring over 25 in his first season. All this resulted in a callup to the national team, and nearly thirty caps since he hasn’t looked back as he continues his electric goalscoring form, netting 21 times in 27 games.

#10 – ST – Marc Lygaard – Age 34 – FC Jansberg – 213 caps, 133 goals - CAPTAIN
Probably Semarland’s most great player of all time, Marc Lygaard is a player who has led Semarland through thick and thin. With 133 goals to his name, he is Semarland’s highest ever goalscorer, a feat it will be hard to match for most players. He fulfilled his dream of leading Semarland to the World Cup finals last time, and made his 200th appearance in the process. However, he’s 34 years old now, even he is at a point where he will have to consider retiring from the big stage. While he’s still no doubt an excellent player, his ability is decreasing slightly slowly, and even he has stated there is a crossing point for him where’ll he want to sit back and focus on spending the last couple of years of his career over at FC Jansberg, before finishing his coaching badges and hopefully taking on a role with the club’s academy.

#11 – MR – Diego Snow – Age 24 – La Nueva Avenida (FFD) – 34 caps, 3 goals
At just 24 years old, Diego Snow is already making a name for himself as a fans favourite. In his 34 appearances for Semarland he has only netted three times, but has been a regular name on the assists chart. He has wowed fans, players, staff and opponents like with his dazzling skills and mesmerising footwork, which earned him a move to Farf side La Nueva Avenida. A graduate of the famous Krsthaven Academy, like Marcel Labonne, after winning the league twice with the club, he was quickly picked up by a major foreign talent, and he’ll look to be as effective in the final third in Farfadillis as he was for Krsthaven and as he is for the national team. Despite goalscoring not necessarily being his strong point, although all good players have to have a limit somewhere, he is comfortable in playing in the attacking midfield/trequartista role if needed.

#12 – GK – Blaise N’Zonzi – Age 25 – Utica United (OSR) – 20 caps
Athletic and acrobatic just like Marco Valbuena, believe it or not Blaise N’Zonzi is another Krsthaven graduate. At the club, the competition with Valbuena was fierce so in the end he signed for Osarian club Utica United where has impressed between the sticks. He was given a good chance to impress at the most recent AOCAF in Krytenia (48) and which he did, but is still backup to Valbuena – for this tournament, at least.

#13 – DC – Martell Chalobah – Age 20 – FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla (PIS) – 10 caps, 1 goal
Being tipped to be the next big thing at sixteen years old is one thing, but making your first team debut at sixteen is another. That’s the case of Martell Chalobah, who amassed over eighty first team appearances for FC Nuholm from the age of 16 to 20 before signing for Polarian Divisjon 1 side FC1. Bjaranarey Flotilla. It’s taken him a little while to be called up by Andreas Jansen though, but after making his debut at AOCAF 48 in Krytenia, he has made another nine further appearances, scoring once. With the retirement of Matthias Karbruck, he is a good contender to be Jakob Lunds’ defensive partner and so he’ll be snapping away ferociously at the heels of Soren Pedersen.

#14 – MC – Tunji Tunde – Age 21 – SK Franz Jozef City (PIS) – 38 caps, 6 goals
Nicknamed “The Metronome” for his superb passing abilities and his ability to control the midfield, Tunji Tunde is yet another highly rated young Semar who has moved abroad. Tunde struck lucky, being offered the chance to one of the greatest Polarian teams, SK Franz Jozef City. Part of one of the greatest midfields in the multiverse, Tunde will rotate in a midfield that includes Polarian national team duo Bjorn Konigstein and Luar Dardan as well as Osarian Toby Drummond, and provide the assists for Polarian NT strikers Kjartan Grndstrom and Finn Kirkkegaard and Valladarian striker Pedrinho. The highly rated youngster actually has never appeared for the U21 side before, but since he made his debut last AOCAF he has racked up 24 caps and 5 goals. FC Nuholm were upset to lose him too, as for the past three years he’s been a key part of their midfield, especially last season when they finished 4th, their best position in the Premarligaen yet. Tunde is deadly from the penalty spot and has the tendency to score a few fancy goals too, and we’re really excited to see how he progresses in Divisjon One.

#15 – AMC – Marc Strand – Age 20 – FC Endeavour (APX) – 16 caps, 8 goals
Many call him the future of Semar football, and it’s easy to see why. Talented attacking midfielder Marc Strand was signed by the best club in the highest ranked league in the multiverse, FC Endeavour of Apox. Signing him for 15M obviously proves how much talent he has, and we have no doubt he’ll be a success there. A clever attacking midfielder with an eye for goal, in his sixtteen national team appearances he has netted eight times, on average once every two games, and for a 20 year old attacking midfielder that is very good. Strand holds the highest assist records for FC Jansberg from U14 up to U21 level and got many in his 67 first team appearances too. The sale of him to FC Endeavour was a shock to many, but it was quite a good amount of money for a 20 year olds. Jansberg fans will wish him the best, and he’ll always be one of their own, and they’ll hope he does well in this AOCAF. Except him to definitely push Demba Cisse for a starting place.

#16 – ST – Isaac Nketiah – Age 18 – FC Torshavn (PIS) (On loan from FC Jansberg) – 7 caps, 5 goals
Clubs such as FC Jansberg, Krsthaven and FC Nuholm have a reputation for producing high quality young players and quite a lot of the players in this squad come from those clubs. Isaac Nketiah comes from the first one, and he is one of many promising young strikers from Semarland’s biggest club. The highly rated youngster forms an electric partnership with Serge Mavididi, who is also included in the squad. The duo made their first team debuts aged 17, in the second year of their scholarship, and recently after signing professional terms, they have both been loaned out to Polarian side FC Torshavn for this UICA season. Nketiah is a powerful striker who is able to run, run and run and barge his way through the defence then smack it home. It is speculated that the Nketiah/Mavididi partnership is going to be the next Lygaard/Lindesfarne, but the two have fierce competition from many other promising young Semar strikers.

#17 – ML – Dequane Saint Etienne – Age 17 – Semarluundik Natunol Akademik – Uncapped
Risks. Tunde, Marcssen, Huxley have all seem to have paid off, but Dequane Saint Etienne is most definitely Andreas Jansen’s biggest one yet. At 17 years old he has torn up the U21 Premier League and was taken in on an experience loan by Copenbrok Klub, and he definitely impressed. A fancy winger with as many tricks up his sleeve you could imagine, Saint Etienne’s roots originate in street football. He is also the cousin of Rene and Reiss Claro-Hunt, which probably shows why he’s got amazing ability. Without any prior international experience at all, this is a great chance to shine for the seventeen year old.

#18 – ST – Serge Mavididi – Age 18 – FC Torshavn (PIS) (On loan from FC Jansberg) – 7 caps, 5 goals
Clubs such as FC Jansberg, Krsthaven and FC Nuholm have a reputation for producing high quality young players and quite a lot of the players in this squad come from those clubs. #19 – DR – Nathaniel Oseni – Age 20 – Molsbik Arkjet – 10 caps
A fast, powerful, buccaneering right back who is most definitely no stranger to a tough tackle. Tipped to succeed Eirik Malsen at club and country level, despite some highly impressive performances he has been knocked off his perch by the fancier Johan Huxley. Oseni’s not a player big on fancy moves, his key element his strength and pace, which enables him to make barraging runs. With Eirik Malsen not playing as regularly for Molsbik Arkjet as he takes time to study his coaching badges, Oseni has forced his way into the first team where he has impressed in the Premarligaen. He definitely has the ability to knock away Huxley, but can he do it here at the World Cup?

#20 – MR – Tipio Runen – Age 26 – Vermilion Rage (NPH) – 62 caps, 5 goals
Having not played for a while, Tipio Runen has gradually faded out of Andreas Jansen’s plans. Until now, where he’s looking to mark his return with a bang. Departing his boyhood club Eikborg Club to sign with Nepharim Premiership side Vermilion Rage, the striker-turned-winger is looking to have success with them there instead. 62 caps to his name plus five goals, it’s fair to say he’s more experienced than current first-choice Diego Snow, but Runen’s quality on the pitch is sometimes unfortunately lacking and he has sadly struggled with a knee injury for the past couple of years ago. The barrelling winger is confident he can shake it off sometime though, and now this World Cup is the perfect chance for him to do just that.

#21 – DL – Rasmus Norregaard – Age 25 – Wye United (APX) – 33 caps
Fast, explosive, highly attacking. Just like Matur Eiriksson, except less…violent. Rasmus Norregaard was easily one of the most consistent performers in the Premarligaen last season as he guided his team FC Nuholm to their best ever finish of 4th place. This did not go unnoticed however, and almost immediately after he was signed by Apoxian side Wye United for a total of 6M. This world cup, he’ll be looking to make a good impression on his new fans as he competes with Eiriksson for the first choice place. Norregaard is a very attacking full back, much like Eiriksson, and you can always see him making darting runs and floating in crosses. Backup for most of his international career, now it’s time for him to try and convince Jansen if he should be first choice.

#22 – GK – Kojo Boakye-Yiadom – Age 21 – FC Axel Heiburg (PIS) – 10 caps
An athletic an eccentric goalkeeper, Kojo Boakye-Yiadom has already played in the first team for five different club yet being only 21. Starting off at Brondby, he played once for them aged 16 before signing for Arkrau Klub, appearing 17 times, then playing for FC Jansberg appearing 33 times, before signing with Polarian side Northbrook Diamonds FK. He only appeared twice for them in pre-season before being loaned out to FC Axel Heiburg, where he is now. The highly rated goalkeeper faces competition from Fransborg set Njilkaer goalkeeper Marc Lindholm, who doesn’t make the squad this time but did last AOCAF.

#23 – MC – Lasse Pedersen – Age 23 – La Halda 1845 (YTT) – 3 caps
A highly rated midfielder a few years ago, Lasse Pedersen sort of lost contact with Semarland after signing for Yttribian side La Halda 1845. But after earning his first three caps in the Trindl Cup, where he thoroughly impressed, he’s back and looking to impress Andreas Jansen and break his way into the team. A classy midfielder with a superb first touch and excellent passing, in Yttribia he has developed a strong creative spark too and has got stronger in the tackle, meaning he can play as a defensive midfielder or an attacking midfielder if required, which demonstrates his new versatility.

#24 – ST – Yannick Simeone – Age 24 – La Nueva Avenida (FFD) – 50 caps, 18 goals
A tall target man, Yannick Simeone is a striker who has unfortunately struggled to replicate his domestic goalscoring form on the international stage. Scoring over 30 goals per season at Molsbik Arkjet, he has struggled internationally netting only 18 times in 50 games, but it is fair to say he’s improved recently though, definitely, and hopefully a move to Farf side La Nueva Avenida (where he will link up with international teammate Diego Snow) he’ll get much better. To be fair to him however, he has struggled with an ankle injury which has seen him miss the most recent AOCAF and the occasional batch of friendlies. He has a younger brother, Nathaniel, who is a highly rated centre-back at Molsbik Arkjet, and a cousin, Yohannes, another centre-back for Fransborg set Njilkaer who recently appeared at the most recent Di Bradini Cup.

#25 – MC – Tunji Adebayo – Age 18 – FC Jansberg – Uncapped
Yet another highly rated young Semar midfielder, Andreas Jansen is already throwing in FC Jansberg’s Tunji Adebayo in to the deep end. A combative midfielder with a good pass, a strong tackle and a decent eye for goal, it is fair to say he hasn’t reached 100% full maximum potential on his technical abilities just yet, but Jansen will hope the World Cup will help him fine tune his skills a bit more.

Background

The Tigers have made a name for themselves in the World Cup, but so far they've never quite taken the next step. In three World Cups now, they've only gotten out of the group stage once, a run that was capped with a disappointing 5-4 loss to HopNation, arguably the only nation actually in the Ro16 they were favorites over, in the Round of Sixteen. After a disappointing miss on the Cup and a horrible one-nil loss to Electrum in the Ro16 of their first Cup of Harmony in twenty years, Hoover will be on a short leash as he tries to bring the Tigers back to another Cup.

GOALKEEPERS

Six keepers, all of at least some quality, make the future bright for the Tigers. All will get at least one chance to prove themselves. Finch is solid as ever and Kudlowski is just as good, and they’ll likely get the #01 and #12 barring a brilliant performance from anyone else - but Ferguson looks really good coming back from an injury, the future is bright for Matthewson and Costa, and Blanton continues to impress despite being pegged by absolutely nobody to start.

KUDLOWSKI, Annabeth - #12 - 35 - Trothwands Evolution (Osarius)

There’s been a lot of “Kudlowski > Finch” hype, especially after the former’s move to the not-well-known Trothwands Evolution of the more-well-known LigAnaia. But in all honestly, they’re similar keepers - mediocre international skillsets being given a huge boost by their lack of mistakes and good instincts. Kudlowski is better aerially and is generally ice-blooded, though.

FINCH, Jared - #01 - 35 - Real Atlantea (Taeshan)

He’s still here! After a middling debut in WC70 and a mixed set of starts since then, the ploddingly consistent Finch has finally been dropped from the starting lineup - although you’d be hard pressed to say he isn’t NT material. Still decent all-around, although he’s not fantastic aerially - a good head on his shoulders turns an otherwise mediocre keeper into a good one.

FERGUSON, McKenzie - #13 - 24 - Nacional Porto Velho (Unified Sunrise Islands)

In contrast with the veterans Kudlowski and Finch, McKenzie Ferguson has yet to have a single meaningful cap. Last year was supposed to be her cycle to shine, but a car crash days before the team was finalized led to her sitting out. She’s lost a bit of mobility, but she’s still very quick and agile out of (and back in) the box, even if her mistake count’s a bit higher. Probably next in line.

MATTHEWSON, Connor - #23 - 23 - Crossceaster United (Lutine)

Matthewson is an unknown quantity, playing for Crossceaster United in lesser-known Lutine. But he’s performed solidly there as a young starting keeper in an unfamiliar environment, and he plays a clean, mistake-free game with great athleticism. His leadership is dubious, though, and while he is a dark horse to beat out Ferguson to the next #01 kit, it’s unlikely.

BLANTON, Tanner - #34 - 30 - Sleepy Hollow (Taeshan)

Always there but never noticed, Tanner Blanton has been spectacularly unspectacular for quite a while. He’s decent all-around, but isn’t quite good enough to take the next step and start - although he’s been valuable overseas.

COSTA, James - #89 - 24 - Tir Snake Strike (Ceni)

Another hot prospect, Costa has shown great promise playing abroad in Ceni. He’s still a little on the raw side, but the twenty-four-year-old is very athletic and a good leader, although he still makes the occasional mistake and isn’t great above the ground.

DEFENDERS

A really, really solid bunch - the Tigers have a really good set of defenders, ranging from passable to fantastic on the international standard and no real weak spots. Quite the experienced bunch with some of them maybe starting to slow down a bit, so a young winger could run circles about them - but with standouts like Sebastian Myers, Tristan Karnstedt, and a resurgent James Smith-Reynolds who has finally put everything together - but everyone in this defense has a spot of their own and a special skillset that gives Hoover huge flexibility in designing a lineup.

MENG, Steven - #25 - 25 - Stilwater City (Unified Sunrise Islands) - LB

Meng does possess decent athleticism, needed to be as attacking of a full-back as he is, but his two greatest strengths are his creative passing prowess and his set-piece ability. Probably not a NT star, but definitely someone to look out for.

CARMICHAEL, Adrian - #42 - 29 - Cenial United (Ceni) - LB

At WC72 Carmichael’s poor attacking prowess resulted in his being left out of the Cup of Harmony roster entirely. But playing in the attack-heavy Cenian league has brought out his natural passing creativity and helped him improve somewhat, and his defense is still consistently solid.

MYERS, Sebastian - #02 - 30 - OAS Royal (Cosumar) - LCB

Sebastian Myers has definitively claimed his spot as the team’s best defender, and already is one of the best the Tigers have ever had. He’s a very good defender who specializes in anticipating passes and is a decent man-marker, although his one flaw is in the air.

AGUDIERES, Javier - #08 - 36 - Tanrisal (Pasarga) - SW

Agudieres isn’t expected to get much playing time, even if at thirty-six he’s still capable of doing so. Nowadays, playing in Pasarga, he relies on his wits to make a living, most of his mobility already lost. A very strong leader, although his role is likely to mentor Tyler Zhou.

ZHOU, Tyler - #03 - 22 - Nacional Porto Velho (Unified Sunrise Islands) - SW

An extremely smart fullback who's dropped back to sweeper in his club career. Exceptional last line of defense and his football savvy coupled with immense speed and agility is huge, although he's still skinny and prone to being muscled past.

SMITH-REYNOLDS, James - #06 - 29 - Heartwood FC (Nova Anglicana) - RCB

Inconsistent. Unreliable. Not driven enough. The criticism of James Smith-Reynolds, who many thought wasn’t at all reaching his huge potential, had been immense. But since then he’s grown on and off the pitch - getting married and having kids - and his natural athletic ability is now paired with intensive film study and pre-game preparation. Expected to contribute.

HERLEKSSON, Michael - #20 - 27 - Blacklake Blues (Taeshan) - RCB

Strong and smart, Herleksson has nonetheless conceded his spot to Smith-Reynolds. He’s a decent player, but not quick enough to effectively man-mark and poor aerially despite his six-three stature.

BAY, Adam - #18 - 32 - Ayeville Pikachus (Unified Sunrise Islands) - RB

A scrapper who has above-average talent but world-class fire and a burning desire to succeed - adept at fitting into new environments after he bounced around early in his career, but he's very football-smart and fast enough to get by.

KARNSTEDT, Tristan - #05 - 25 - Cenial United (Ceni) - RB

A fantastic attacking wingback, Karnstedt has exceptional stamina, good speed, and is a strong passer. On the defensive end, he's surprisingly polished despite his age, able to hang back and make few mistakes. Could improve his work on set-pieces, but overall he's a good player.

MIDFIELDERS

There’s a ton of midfielders here, and once again it gives Hoover huge flexibility - Stanton, Kerraway, Rasmussen, Quirk, and Inriquez are all wingers of some quality, Neshek and Bogusevic are good defensive options, Player and Raburn are very good playmakers, Chen’s a solid option at CAM, and de Vries is a good all-around midfielder. It should be interesting to see how Hoover manages the lot.

STANTON, Lily - #22 - 27 - Grasshoppers Turic (Osarius) - LM/LW

Playing for SBCC finalists Grasshoppers Turic after signing over the offseason, the 27-year-old Lily Stanton was a revelation for the national team last Cup. Devilishly fast, with a decent finish and a great cross.

KERRAWAY, Orson - #15 - 29 FC Shanak (Osarius) - RW/RM/LW

Kerraway, long ago a prized academy product, suffered a series of injuries that sapped the winger’s speed and derailed his career. Against the odds, though, he’s made it back with an improved passing touch and a strong finish, although he’ll never regain his once-blazing speed. A signing with Shanak after Semar powerhouses Krsthaven put him up for sale could give his career a bit of a boost.

RASMUSSEN, Josva - #75 - 26 - Myrmidon (Ceni) - LM/LW

“Who?” would be the first word on most Tiger fans’ mouths, and indeed Rasmussen is an unknown quantity, playing first in Vjaalsburg’s Insovandesholm and then in Ceni’s Myrmidon. Rasmussen has a beautiful left foot and not a bad right, although he’s not the most athletic - not expected to contribute much, but will definitely show up and work hard.

QUIRK, Alistair - #46 - 25 - Wheathampton Warriors - RW
“Quirk” is right - the winger has played exclusively for Wheathampton - which wasn’t even a first-division club when Super-Llamaland had a first division. Why? They play in his hometown. Still, there’s some obvious talent even in a weak league - he’s fast and agile with really good skill in the box, although he has a tendency to lose the ball too often trying to make runs to get there.

INRIQUEZ, Sebastian - #09 - 30 - Liberty Rodriguez (San Jose Guayabal) - RW

One of the most-hyped Llamaneans in history, Inriquez’s off-the-field antics and the occasional injury concern held him back a bit after he was sold to Lyon at the age of twenty-two for (wait for it) $25,000,000. After some political hiccups in Felix, he jumped ship and headed to San Jose Guayabal’s Liberty Rodriguez for “just” sixteen million. Despite already-mentioned concerns, he’s a prolific scorer, devastatingly quick, prone to over-flashy trick moves, and has one of the best finishes on the team.

NESHEK, Sara - #17 - 33 - Trothwands Evolution (Osarius) - DCM

Sara Neshek’s last name may have changed after her marriage, but her playstyle hasn’t really undergone any improvement - she’s still a typical holding midfielder, strong at keeping possession and kickstarting plays but hardly fast or exciting. Useful enough on set pieces, though.

CHEN, James - #44 - 20 - Norrion Rovers (Eastfield Lodge) - CAM

While James Chen has been merely good for Norrion Rovers of Eastfield Lodge, he’s still flashed huge signs of potential. Chen is a devastating playmaker who can always find gaps in the attack, and he also has a strong shooting touch. He’s already a little injury-prone though, although Norrion’s missed the bullet so far, and not too athletic. Still, he’s a strong midfielder for the future, even though his present value is unknown.

BOGUSEVIC, Stefan - #31 - 28 - X Island Marauders (Taeshan) - CM

Bogusevic has finally broken into the national team after a few years of running himself ragged for the X Island Marauders. His main strength is endless stamina, great speed, and a strong sense of where everyone is and where the ball’s about to go. His main weakness is a lack of technique, which he covers up by aiming for very large patches of green.

RABURN, Jake - #07 - 27 - SC Kiel (Polar Islandstates) - CM
Jake Raburn is one of the best players on this team. Able to use either foot astonishingly well, Raburn is a smart, Kyle Sturgeon-esque holding midfielder with exceptionally strong passing and good field vision. The sort of general on the pitch that Kyle Sturgeon, Anthony Player, and to a lesser degree Jake Wiggins used to be. Also surprisingly good at defense, although at five-nine he isn’t much for set pieces. Moved from Bayern to Kiel during the most recent transfer window, SC Kiel paying eight million for the midfielder.

PLAYER, Anthony - #16 - 34 - Stary Bay (Star United States) - R/CM

The best Llamanean midfielder for the last cycle or two, but at thirty-four his age is starting to catch up to him. He lies pretty deep now, setting up counters and occasionally chipping in for a throat-slitting pass in the front third.

DE VRIES, Michael - #14 - 29 - Real Atlantea (Taeshan) - RM

de Vries’ role on this team, which needs mostly wingers and playmakers, is unknown. He is, however, talented enough to have a shot at winning at least a spot on the final twenty-three. An all-around midfielder with good stamina and a better shot - very good on set pieces, no matter what his role is.

STRIKERS

”Loaded” would describe this pretty well. The first two are likely to be Cartwright, the legendary striker who’s making the move up to LigAnaia, and Nilssen, who made his mark for the A-League’s Lotus Park. But Magnusson, playing in the Polar Islandstates, and Zenician superstar Michael McKenzie both should make an impact as well - and you can’t ignore the obvious talent of Ansel Penbrooke, even if he won’t play all that often.

CARTWRIGHT, Alex - #10 - 36 - Arsenal St. John’s (Royal Kingdom of Quebec)

Possibly the greatest Tiger of all time (Trevor Duncan supporters disagree), Cartwright has been a force for the past four cycles. A transfer from R49 side Kingston to LigAnaia’s Arsenal will finally allow him to remind one of the world’s greatest leagues of his strength - even at thirty-six, he’s as fit as ever and still possesses an ability to get the ball in the net from any angle.

NILSSEN, Kristopher - #18 - 32 - Lotus Park (Brenecia)

Quietly plugging away on the national team despite the presence of Cartwright, Nilssen has possibly surpassed Cartwright at this point - playing for the A-League’s Lotus Park and doing decently - tying for seventh in the league with sixteen goals in thirty-eight matches during Season 2 sandwiched between two decently strong performances. He doesn’t have that raw incisiveness many strikers do, but a variety of cuts and dekes and good accuracy from range as well as a strong predilection for where the ball will bounce.

MAGNUSSON, Alicia - #15 - 29 - Eintracht Moss-Rygge (PIS)

Fast as the wind, with a good finishing touch -overall a good all-around striker, even if she’s sometimes a bit selfish. Managed to finally head abroad on a deal to Eintracht Moss-Rygge of Polar Islandstates, and will try to make her mark in a very good league.

McKENZIE, Michael - #58 - 35 - Deline Athletic (Zenic)

Ask any Zenician who their favorite foreign player is, and “Michael McKenzie” might pop up a few times. Three Emperor’s Cleats (their name for the top scorer) and an Emperor’s Descendant for the best player in the league have more than paid back the few million Deline Athletic, always in contention for the Globe Cup, spent on him. He’s an all-around striker who’s more about technique than athleticism, but who’s crafty enough to keep his career going strong even at thirty-five.

FERGUSON, Aidan - #19 - 34 - Fransborg set Njilkaer (Semarland)

A strong false-nine sort whose shot never really developed, but who has a beautiful playmaking touch and decent stamina for his age.

SOUTHWICK, Chandler - #32 - 28 - Francesca Orient (Brenecia)

Heavily right-footed, Southwick’s finish for the ages has been held back by mediocre athleticism and a shoot-first-ask-questions-later mindset (although he does pass decently well). Despite this, he managed to secure a transfer to Francesca Orient - although time will tell if he’s up for the rigor of the A-League.

MASTERS, Peter - #12 - 37 - Cenial United (Ceni)

At thirty-seven Masters is on his last legs. After making his name somewhat known as a squad player for famed Audioslavian club 1830 Cathair, he opted to move over to Cenial United of the burgeoning Cenian league, where he performed adequately. He still has a beautiful control over the ball and a fantastic finishing ability, but his age is a limiting factor.

PENBROOKE, Ansel - #46 - 17 - Centre for Excellence (Apox)
Heralded as the next Cartwright, Ansel Penbrooke has blown away the competition forever. A recent move to Apoxian youth team Centre for Excellence made huge waves as Penbrooke turned down forty-million-dollar-plus offers from Patistan to “become great.” A wunderkind striker - possibly Super-Llamaland's next starting striker, Penbrooke has dazzling speed, a good (with literally no limit to its upside) finishing touch, and the ability to mature into a superstar, even if he’s still a bit raw.

Furelese Bogdan Antonescu, despite a successful run, unexpectedly decided that managing the Tigers was no longer for him. The search around ended abruptly when Carlton Hoover came out of retirement to offer to put his name in the hat. The former FC New Llama manager, widely considered one of the best managers in history, quickly won the job and began to appoint some of his old New Llama crew to the team. He’s hardly the most compatible with the team, being known to force an odd 3-2-3-2-esque thing on everything (here slightly de-weirded into a 5-3-2), but his experience and wisdom are far better fits than anything else the Tigers were choosing from.

Hoover, after retiring from professional football and serving in the military under the Granveir regime, became the assistant coach of the now-defunct FC Los Juantos - North in 1986. Successfully training Los Juantos’ motley assortment of youngsters and leading them to consecutive third-place finishes, he left to manage FC Denison, a mid-table team consisting of mostly veterans. Hoover had ups and downs with the team, in 1991 being relegated the year after they placed second. By 1993, he was out of a job, spending time with mediocre Emerald Springs, before finally joining New Llama in 1994. From then until 2009, he was a master, winning six league titles and, first through player development, then through a shift in tactics, and finally through an innate ability to select the best foreign footballers, turning New Llama into arguably the best team Super-Llamaland had to offer.

Adam Castronova has been a sort of journeyman coach, and many criticized him for his two installments as manager of the U-21 Llamanean Royals, both of which ended poorly, although his player development remained unchallenged. Besides that, he’s spent a few stints as assistant manager for New Llama and Ruby Falls, mostly successful.

Hoover’s old buddy and former assistant manager Tobyn Clearwater, the innovator behind the new Llamanean manager’s success, has been brought on as a coach. It was Clearwater who pioneered most of Carlton Hoover’s first formations and popularized them as a coach with New Llama and Denison, and it’s Clearwater who Hoover has delegated Llamanean tactics to.

Eric Matthews, synonymous in Llamanean scouting circles as a high-profile flop, has returned to be the goalkeeper’s coach. After giving up a few key goals at World Cup 65 as a teenage phenom, Matthews seemingly lost his touch, relegated to the bench while Henry McNeal and then Jared Finch ran with the torch he had dropped. Still, he never quite lost his skill and was back quickly on the bench for a few Cups.

Dane Moore, a former defender for the Llamanean C-team who never quite broke out despite his promise, went into medicine after his career ended abruptly at twenty-seven when Moore realized he would never realize his dream after a slew of injuries. Since then he’s gone into sports medicine, accepting positions on the Kyrinson Twin Pines baseball team and FC Emerald Springs.

PLAYSTYLE

Carlton Hoover has opted to bring the Tigers back to their roots in the system that served Bogdan Antonescu so well. The team, playing in a 4-2-2-2 or 4-2-3-1 formation, depends on creativity and quick instincts to keep opponents on their toes with a passing-heavy strategy on attack. Whoever accompanies Jake Raburn in midfield will be strong defensively and able to drop back at a moment’s notice, while none of the defenders are attacking liabilities. The team is flexible, fast, and creative, but many of the new inclusions are prone to making mistakes, and a lack of team chemistry may render this plan useless.

#4 Kenneth Berringer - R.C Lions wingback Kenneth Berringer is the starting left back, who can also fill in at CB. Good instincts and good at getting back after attacking.

#3 Bojan Fertig - Unsigned CB Bojan Fertig makes up the first of the centerback pairing. 21, Fertig captained third division side Redtown FC to a promotion before deciding to look for a new challenge. Expected to sign soon, maybe with Real Barrier or maybe with Sporting CC, at the season's end.

#29 Alek Sander - R.C Atlas wingback and centerback Alek Sander makes up the second part of the pairing. One of the best defenders in the league and at 25, he just wrapped up negotiations for a new four year deal to stay at Atlas.

#7 Boom Redman - Boom Redman did a lot for the U-21 team and showed everyone that they were wrong in saying he shouldn't have been picked for the Sporting World Cup. Incredible speed means he can play wingback or winger, and he has a skill in gaining assists.

MIDFIELDERS

#5 Alakare Abbey - A survivor of AirLoftus flight 414, Alakare Abbey is 20 years old and filling in for Soren Bayer, who isn't willing to accept a national team callup. Formerly a centerback, she's moving to a deep playmaker role, that Bayer made famous in Armeian squads.

#12 Tilo Abrammson - The Atlas central mid will look to run the show so to speak, setting up Milan Toure and the strikers for good chances as well as poaching when possible, like on set pieces. Signed for Atlas this summer.

#98 Zoran Michel - 20 year old Real Barrier prodigy Zoran Michel is going to be moving from the defensive midfield to the attacking midfield this season. He showed great promise, but missed the majority of last year with a bad ACL injury.

FORWARDS

#10 Milan Toure - He may be the most well known athlete in Armeia. The 24 year old ex-Atlas star had a meteoric rise, leading Atlas to their only title before signing a groundbreaking five year twenty one million dollars a year contract with Redtown side R.C Lions. Extremely dangerous near goal, an excellent poacher who's almost always in position.

#1 Christa Cruz - Famous for her ego and for her frequent clashes with her teammates at Northeastern, Christa Cruz is the biggest rising star in Armeian women's football. She won Armeia the Emperor's Cup and in doing so made herself a target for every team in the country. Extremely smart even though that's not apparent at first glance, she knows how to make space by using angles.

#9 Edi Dragic - Playing abroad for Pantans, Edi Dragic set the league on fire with New Split a season ago. Despite not being physically imposing, his physical, aggressive style of play won the hearts of the fans and also won him a contract with Pantans when his time with New Split was up.

Polkopian National Football Team
"The Slashers"

The Polkopian Football Association is a relatively new organization which serves as the governing body for the Polkopian Premier League, as well as the Polkopian National Team itself. The National Team was formally under government control, where the Polkopian government had overseen all duties that were associated with creating and maintaining a National Team. Despite hard measures taken by the Polkopian government, the Polkopian National Team had very little success internationally, and thus, failing to ignite passion for the sport.

After the Polkopian Football Association, or PFA, was established, the team was completely restructured, though coaching and managerial staff remained the same. A domestic league was established in order for the Polkopian players to gain experience against players from other nations, as well as their own. Furthermore, new youth academies were set up in order to assure that the Polkopian youth could gain experience with the hope of one day representing their nation on an international stage.

The kits used for the Polkopian National Team for the 73rd World Cup are made and sponsored by Meski Sports.

Home Stadium:

The "Hanisov Stadiona", or Hanisov Stadium, is the home stadium for the Polkopian National Football Team. The stadium itself is relatively new, having only just been built five years ago, and seats a total of 78,000 spectators. The stadium had been originally constructed to field the club team, Peeto Gordost', but the PFA, or Polkopian Football Association, changed it last minute. The views from the stands pictured here and here assure a great-quality view from nearly any angle.

What a wonderful start to a coaching career. Though for the most part the Copa Rushmori championship run was not the most beautiful affair as all four playoff games were decided after regular time, the championship and quarterfinal on Pens and the round of sixteen and semis in extra time, the fact remains that the team is reigning Rushmore Champions and will be on a high headed into the world cup finals. Wiggin is much of the reason that they have done so. He has brought a new culture to the team and many think that with that the team can once again look to qualify for the world cup and be a factor on the world stage.

Assistant Manager: Mark Tlumach
The new assistant has taken his office and many think that tactically speaking he can make or break the young Taeshani team. The team did very well to win the Copa, but that was a raw chaotic win, and many think that with Wiggin's ability to lead, and Tlumach's ability to master the mental side of things that the team can make an attempt to qualify for the World Cup.

1 - Xavier Troubador - Fadron Flight 7 Caps, 22 Years Old
The switch to Xavier Troubador led to a lot of great things for the Purple Knights. In his first international tournament he was a champion and that can go a long way in making a player good throughout his career. The team believes in Troubador and if anything that is a great sign. Now the team will just have to continue to be solid in front of him and he can lead them to glory.

23 - Myung Wook Yu - Bayern-Algaer 40 Caps, 29 Years Old
Myung Wook Yu was once the savior of Taeshani Goalkeeping and now he is sitting on the pine watching the next big thing. He will be the mainbackup for Xavier, but he has also proven himself a viable option and wouldn't be that different of a goalkeeper to have for the team.

Gregoire Avery is also a strong young Goalkeeper.

Andrew Chesnut came into his first tournament as a starter nervous and left with a trophy. If his play continues as it did in the last tournament than the nation will have much to cheer about.

Orion Black scored a few goals, and played a lot of defense. He is a strong center back and will continue to be so in the next season.

Broadway is an attacking fullback and he is a very strong player. He will overlap Ying Uing, who likes to drift centrally, and provide a lot of attacking flair for the Purple Knights.

Nguyen seems likely to be the best center back option on the bench.

Xander McDrew's move to the midfield has ultimately led to more goals for the purple Knights. Like a few players before him the move gives the attack more striking options and allows for more attacking minded players in a team who mostly relies on their vastly defensive skillset.

Taeshan has not shortage of left footed speedsters and Josmer Medici is no outlier. With his skill on the ball and his ability to take free kicks he is a very important player for the Knights and could score a few goals in the upcoming campaign.

Ying Uing now has the distinction of winning a title, which is father did not. Now, he seems likely to lead the team back to glory, and many think that with his play on the right side the team could very well be headed back to the world cup.

Issac Benoit will likely be the main player off the bench as the most experienced player on there, and has a great ability with the ball at his feet.

Perhaps the biggest reason the Taeshani team won the Copa rushmori was the heralded young striker Miles Snavely. 6 goals in his first 7 games and Snavely is well on his way to being one of the greatest Taeshani strikers ever. If he can continue to score goals the team will likely see its return to the World Cup very soon.

Peter Wiggin seemed like the biggest case of nepotism in Taeshani history when the oft looked down upon striker was given the starting position in the Copa, but in the end he was a big part of the teams success. That said one slip up and Landon van Nemyar will come a knocking for the starting position.

The great wonder throughout the Copa was why did Val Valjean not see the field, 2 caps, 2 hat tricks in the last qualifiers and all, but apparently he had a knock and he really wasn't needed. that said he is still a big option off the bench, and scores many goals in the premier league.

16 - Landon van Neymar - Blacklake Blues 6 Caps, 2 Goals, 20 Years Old
Van Neymar was one of the brightest parts of the Copa Rushmori as he came off the bench 6 times and was an important part of almost every game he came on for. Obviously he has a great relationship with striker Miles Snavely and many thought he would start alongside him, but alas Peter Wiggin continues to be a strong tall forward, and that works great in the Taeshani system.

After the golden oldie tournament in WC72 where the Swordeans missed out on the playoffs on goal difference, many of those oldies have retired. This World Cup a new young breed will be brought in, with many hoping this young team can make it into the World Cup proper. Over half of the Swordean lineup is devoted to defense, with John Antle & Ryan Hayward leading this young team in Antle's last tournament of football, while Hayward, team captain, will hope to capture fans with his long bombing, which has captured crowds in Polkopia.

In what will be the last tournament for many, a good farewell would be World Cup proper qualification for the Swordeans, ranked 80th.

Introduction/Story So Far
Flardania/Kirishima National Football Team also known as the Kitsunes are Flardania's best soccer players. Football is the national sport of Flardania and the Kitsunes help showcase the KONAMI Premier League . After years of playing domestic play and tragically missing BOF 56 and BOF 57. Flardania would later enter Baptism of Fire 58 and after just barely exiting the Group stage, Flardania as the bottom #16 Seed upset #1 Seed San Llera and defeated Maretta to reach the semi-finals. The Kitsunes unfortunately finished fourth and bitter fans refer to the top 3 teams as the "Puppet Show". Flardania expectations were much smaller going into the WC 71 and look to at least qualify for the main cup. The Kitsunes looked like they were contenders early on but struggled as they were in a really difficult Group mixed with Flardania playing too balanced a game against the high powered offense while lacking enough offense to dismantle defensive disciplined teams. Flardania would have a mediocre showing in the Cup of Harmony with the only notable news being the historic upset against Cosumar. The Kitsunes look to turn the passion of the sport into wins and gain international respect after always being predicted to lose. The Kitsunes went into World Cup 72 with a miserable first half that had Kyosuke on the hot seat until they turned things around and finished 4th in the group, thus given Hikaru the rank boost he sought. The Kitsunes are still led by beloved athlete Joseph Yabuta of the Akihabara Electronic OFC as Striker. In goal remains Miyoko Hojo a fmr Chinese Cuisine chef with excellent leaping abilities and reflexes who has lead Olympique Imgeum-si to a shocking miracle season in her first season and 2nd place the past season due to defensive reasons. One can imagine Hikaru's main objective is finishing at least mid table and enter COH with stronger momentum.

Kirishima as it is called in the East and as Flardania in the West is an archipelago in the Asia Pacific. Kirishima means literally Mist and Island in Japanese and is known locally as the Islands of the Mist. Kirishima is an archipelago comprising of 1,721 islands. They can be divided into seven large and major islands - Hontō, Zipangu, Yamatai, Reijima, Kiyomisu, Iroshima, and Yajiriguni. Kirishima is an interesting place that is historically made up of Kirishinans which sociologist determined to be remnants of the Gaya Confederacy and some refugees Baekje Kingdom during the rise of the Silla kingdom in Korea in 660 A.D. These people mixed with Japanese who already shipwrecked or settled in the region prior, along as local Asiatic peoples. Each had their own kingdoms that would eventually be united under four Kingdoms which would eventually be divided among Europeans. Namely the French and British. When the french won one of their few theater conflicts in the seven years war they named the land Flardania in honor of the Swedish explorer who discovered the land in the name of France.

Kirishima despite having an Asian majority population, has a decent sized European, African, Arabic minority. The nation is proud of it's very welcoming and tolerant attitude despite how it looks. It is a moderate nation that can be very liberal on some issues and conservative on others. A very important piece of information is the prohibition of smoking tobacco. Kirishinan people believe in a clean body and clean environment even before the world found out about those issues. One may be caught off guard by how clean of litter the cities and metro systems tend to be.

After coming in during World Fair III Christmas truce with literally no experience in coaching, Hikaru Kyosuke was initially thought of as a placeholder until the team could find a more establish manager. Kyosuke however has always managed to keep his job when it matters and has been working tirelessly on a unique football style and gameplan. Kyosuke definitely wants an offensive minded team but the question has always been how offensive should they be. With a fourth place finish in the Baptism of Fire Hikaru decided to use more offensive tactics which lead to a surprisingly 5th place finish in the group. Which lead to Hikaru applying more offensive where despite a Cosumar upset Flardania got bounced from the Cup of Harmony and win less in friendly until he toned down the offense a little bit for the 72nd World Cup with his job on the line. The Kitsunes bounced back in the second half but the goal differential was bad especially against balanced lower ranked teams. Which is why despite still being significantly offensive minded, this is one of the most defensive minded Kitsunes team in the history of Kirishima. Manager Kyosuke is focusing more on counter attacking with his notable defenders Ayame Fujisaka who has a great mind for the game and the tomboy former university track star Koharu Miyamoto whose speed, passing and footwork enables her to get up the field quickly and in position to opt a pass to a midfielder. Claire Nguyen had a great season with Akihabara and is on the starting line up with teammates Yabuta and fello center back Fujisaka. With Izumi and Papadopoulos on the field they can place the ball in great positioning of any of the Kitsunes capable strikers especially Yabuta to drill the ball into the net. Also with Yabuta's almost unnatural ability to score of volley's it will become obvious how Yabuta made the Baptism of Fire 58 squad. Also by playing more defensively Kyosuke hope to put less pressure on Hojo because despite her impressive efforts in the Goal one cannot expect her do much better with the amount of pressure she receives constantly. This is truly the work of a man who has enough job security.

San José Guayabal (SJG) National Team

The Guayabalense NT in the last cycle

After some time of success during the World Cup 70 Qualifiers and also during a great part of the World Cup 71 Qualifiers where they almost dominated their group but felll off in a last matchday game against the top seed, Saintland, there was hope at playoffs but a fatal error from Hernández turned one of the most memorable comebacks of Guayabalense football (From losing 0-2 to winning 4-2 at home and going to WC during those minutes) into another missed chance to be in the World Cup Finals, an own goal in the 92nd minute was enough to send San José Guayabal to the CoH again.

That CoH was beileved to be a fiasco according to some sport pundits, a sahem at home was forecasted but the national team, under the conduction of Paulo Oliveira and Alfredo Herrera performed an spectacular participation that made dream to an entire nations, reaching the final with a new game style, very solid in defense, allowing just one goal during the entire tournament, the final against an historic team like Valanora was the launching platform to glory for La Selecta, who after a hard fought game, they lifted the champions trophy after beating the Vanorians 4-3 in Penalty Kicks.

After a splendid World Cup Qualifiers, La Selecta managed to get back into World Cup Finals after an absence of eight years, after losing the first game against Felix and tying the second with Kandorith their hopes for a Round of 16 were depending of Kandorith vs Felix game and also of their performance against The Holy Empire, despite they did one of the most memorable games of the history of Guayabalense football by beating The Holy Empire 2-0, they failed to qualify to the second round because Felix beat the Kandorese squad. After that, La Selecta performed a rather average Campionato Esportiva advancing in a good fashion to the Round of 16, facing the experienced and well rounded National Team of Nephara, a game where La Selecta displayed a high quality and knew how to recover from a 1-3 to extend the game to the roulette of the penalty kicks, where they losed by some rookie mistakes by Terrazas, who learnt the lession and is turning slowly into a good and relieble goalkeeper, giving a good guarantee at the defensive last man.

After undesirable results in the World Cup 71 Qualifiers, La Selecta decided to start a reengineering in its game system, after proving that a good defence is not something from other planet, receiving fifteen goals in fourteen matches during the World Cup 71, a new slightly defensive system was established in the team, featuring for the first time a line of four midfielderss, trying to block the highest number of possibilities of the rival team, also including a rookie into the team, Abraham Terrazas is having his first experience as the goalkeeper of the Starting XI, with one midfielder who can have a rol of defence like Núñez, this team is probably a quite defensive version of La Selecta. A key aspect that changes a bit from the other lineups used throughout the history, is the use of two strikers instead, in order to keep the offensive capacity that has characterized the football of the National Team and maybe the bastion of the whole Guayabalense football.

The "home" roster of SJG features the use three defenders with some experience like James Moreira and Meyson Salume, both can act as key players if we talk about the realization of transitions to offensive plays meanwhile Passarelli is the team sweeper and also most experienced of the team in terms of playing in the international scene, specifically in UICA tournaments. In the midfield we can see a rhombus shaped position of four players, being Saucedo and Bregoo a kind of fake forwards due to the changing role of the tactical system that can feature five forwards in case of need and Núñez together with Valencia can be sort of defence in case of need. Game style: The game who SJG does is essentially technical, based on the agility of movement from the players, using their intelligence for the game to find lone spaces and perform single passes that are very accurate and "in depth", they like to accumulate players while attacking or using the surprise factor which is use the speed of the players to perform counter attacks that usually have a good level of effectivity, taking in consideration that this is a team who thinks in score the goals as fast as possible instead of defending (Well known as "The Kill or Die Philosophy." Which is the most used tactic on Guayabalense football throughout his history), something that they do even when they face a football powerhouse or a extremely offensive team, no matter the rival, the objective is score the highest amount of goals and win the three points.

In the defence area, they tend to use physical game style in order to set conditions to the rivals, despite that the defenders are of medium height, they are well known for their skill at aerial game, so it is very difficult to beat them, specially in corners or set pieces, expect always fair play from this team, avoiding to do fouls into the last 25-30 meters of their defence area.

Players normally like to do long-distance shots or seek for chances in aerial game via set pieces or corners, specially with Árbol Saucedo and Mattías Passarelli, who are the tallest players of the entire squad. Still, this team can do some special moves, considering the idea of the team of never give up and trying to be efficient while attacking.

Alfredo Herrera 68 Y/O, Nationality: Aquillian (Part of Osarius)

We've all heard the anecdotes about Aquillian's national football team manager Alfredo Herrera, and how he is sometimes "endearingly zany". His open training sessions during some friendlies, or at tournaments like the the Cup of Harmony or WCQ, reveal some -- but not the full extent of his preparations. He stands on the touchline, barking the same orders over and over until they are followed perfectly. "Retreat! Retreat now!" he barks at his wingbacks during one exercise. "You have less than seven seconds to return or they will pierce the gap!" His barking continues. "Release immediately! No hesitation! No delay! Control, release, move! Control, release, move!" His players are practicing to execute his commands with such speed and efficiency, they appear almost instinctive. The level is intense. He shuffles things around. Rotates players. Alters the tempo. Introduces more rules. Removes rules. The withdrawal, surveying and tinkering process repeats itself several times over before he appears satisfied. "Excellent! This is how we go! This is how we win!" He finally bestows some praise upon his players.

Abraham Terrazas 17 Y/O, Goalkeeper of Izotz Zubia (AUD)

Maybe the youngest keeper on the history of the National Team, Terrazas was even more young when he left to the Audioslavian powerhouse Izotz Zubia, though his youngness was a limitant to be on the starting XI, he taked advantage of any chance he had to demonstrate his best level of game, through the time, Terrazas has been climbing to the top in his club, after some time, he is fighting for a spot on the starting XI and he has more action on it, Terrazas is probably the new promise of the Guayabalense football under the three posts.

James Moreira 19 Y/O, Left Defender of Canterlot Royals (EQS)

Young but experienced, Moreira is the typical player who can receive love or hate, his special location in the roster mades him a key player in terms related to defending, being the sweeper but also being one of the creators of the game, despite falling in nerves sometimes the youngest of their football dynasty family as the Moreiras are, his good leadership and attitude makes him being an excellent player in the team.

Mattías Passarelli 25 Y/O, Central Defender of Delare Minon (YTT)

The oldest of the defenders in the Starting XI and also the one with more experience in the team, Mattías played in the NT since they were an almost amateur-ish side, he played in Alianza FC and achieved three titles, enough to do his move to the Yttribian powerhouse of Delare Minon, when he got another three league tournaments including one solid run in the UICA Globe Cup made him a worship idol for the fans of the team, he doesn't plans to move of the team, because he feels the love of the fans.

Meyson Salume 18 Y/O, Right Defender of East Franz Athletic (PIS)

The reliable Salume is back, after being injured for some matches, the strongest player of the teams is now in action to keep the order in the defence, his role is defend but he does the task of midfielder quite often, his strong point of being tall makes him an ideal player to keep the National Team without many troubles, but his slow speed can make some trouble over there, and can do more due to his motivaion caused due to his arrival to Polarian lands

Rudy Valencia 23 Y/O, Midfielder (Destroyer) of Oakstone (EUR)

Considered the SJG's best player good among the groups of football experts and fans all around in the country, the 25 years old player born in Islas Canarias near the Esportivan South Pole is a player that features good skills if we talk on the goal scoring and headers being the most accurate player if we talk of shots to goal, this crack is the one to put the spotlight on and his strong point is definitively the long distance shots taking in consideration his good skills at bending balls.

Omerica is a federation of twenty-six cantons in north-western Esportiva. The Prime Minister, commonly referred to by the Takiari title of Taiʻim Taha, is the de facto leader of the country, though the executive power of the office’s holder is constrained by a powerful upper house, a pluriform multi-party system, the bounds of almost-revered constitutional law and the peculiarities of Omerica’s multi-ethnic society and federal system. Named after the longest-reigning Prince of Soltsteed, the Prins William X Näsjonaalpärk (/pʀɪnz 'wɪliəm tent 'næsjonalpaʀk/) is the newly-minted national stadium of the island state of Soltsteed, a state in “free association” with Omerica. Breaking ground in 2014 in preparation for organised football’s formal début in Soltsteed, the 50 000 capacity Näsjonaalpärk is located at the centre of the Soltse Greendplaats in Veelhaim Parish and hosts the Prinse Koppon and is located just metres away from the headquarters Prinslig Soltse Föudballbünd. The Stade du Nord in the northwestern city of Ville-de-la-Mer is the smallest venue in this edition of the qualifiers and the only one without a club in the top two tiers of Omerican football. Nonetheless, the Stade du Nord boasts of being the northernmost stadium in the Commonwealth, with the Jewel of Melenchon, fitting 30 000 spectators above its seaside pitch.

Roster and Formation of the Men's National Team

Les Oiseaux historically relied on the assembly of a world class offensive line, though the exact success of that strategy is highly disputed. Despite poor showings under James-Alexandre Christopherson, Jean-Baptiste Archambault has kept the 4-2-1-3 formation used under Christopherson and has been unafraid of resorting to set pieces to claim the game.

Nicknamed “el Rey sin Trono” (“the King without a Throne”), rather lovingly by La Corona fans and disparagingly by others, for his management acumen and near-faultless loyalty to Christopherson, Pritchard suprised observers when he abandoned his long-time boss and agreed to stay with the Omerica team as assistant manager under a revived Archambault regime. Nonetheless, Pritchard’s betrayal of his long-time friend and his relative lack of familiarity with Archambault have been seen as signs that Pritchard may not be as influential in the team as he had once been.

The New Gelderland Football Federation is proud to present the roster of the champions of the 60th Baptism of Fire for the 73rd World Cup qualifiers.

Football is one of the most popular and well-known sports in New Gelderland. Most people avidly follow or play football recreationally or casually. While the Euran League is the most popular league in New Gelderland, a nascent New Gelderlish league is forming to capitalize on the talent and interest of New Gelderland. As part of the popularity of football, the New Gelderland Football Federation was more than happy to send a team to its Terranean neighbors Eura and Valladares to compete in the Baptism of Fire, and, later, World Cup qualification matches home and away. At the first tournament that they ever played, the team won the 60th Baptism of Fire after a tense 3-2 victory over Fluvique.

Stylistically, the New Gelderlish national football team tends to play somewhat defensively. When playing on the offense, in contrast, the team tends to play opportunistically, watching and waiting for opportunities rather than all-out attacking. Offensive play also tends to focus on the midfield, where Louis Rhodes is more than capable of creating opportunities for Luke Virgo and Ben Griffin. Defensively, New Gelderland is known for producing very capable goalkeepers with good reflexes and eyes on the ball. The defensive side is also known for its good combination of man-to-man tactics as well as zonal defense and its tackling and pass interception abilities. With the ball, New Gelderland will likely pass the ball around until they see an opportunity; without the ball, they will try to force the ball into the defenders, try to intercept passes, or try and tackle.

Most of New Gelderland's football roster is, surprisingly, young, despite the expectations that New Gelderland would want to field its most experienced team. However, because of the dominance of the Euran league in New Gelderland's football history and the relative lack of prominence of Gelderlish players (who have not, until yet, had the opportunity to play professionally in a football league in New Gelderland), most of the best and experienced Gelderlish players are very young. This also correlates with a very young demographic trend in the population of New Gelderland itself.

Home Stadium: Olympic Stadium, Nassau Bay

The Olympic Stadium in Nassau Bay, New Gelderland's largest city, holds a capacity of 54,000 when supporting football matches. A retractable seating area will be used during the Olympics (if the New Gelderlish bid wins) to convert the football pitch into a stadium suitable for athletics events. Closing ceremonies as well as some preliminary football matches would be held in the stadium as well. Located in the Westmore Bluff area of Nassau Bay, the stadium's normal tenants are Olympic Nassau Bay. The stadium will host a majority of New Gelderland's home matches. Other matches may be scheduled at the Lexington National Stadium with a capacity of 47,500 in Lexington.

Cenian National Team - World Cup 73

Football History
Football in Ceni has only recently began to take off in popularity. Even though football has been present in Ceni for a good majority of the time that it has been settled, other sports, mainly tennis, badminton, and squash, held precedence in Cenian sporting life. For the most part, society gave football barely a passing glance as Ceni built its dominance in tennis. As the popularity of football grew in the last decade, however, pressure grew for the Cenian government to create a national team and send it to compete with the world's best. First, however, it would play in the 54th Baptism of Fire against other nations new to international football. In what was perhaps an ill omen for the rest of Ceni's international football campaigns, the Sarian, later to reach the final, crushed Ceni. In the group stage, Ceni barely managed one win before qualifying for the playoffs on goal difference, where they defeated Bonny in only their second win of the tournament, winning the opportunity to face eventual champion Buyan in the Round of 16. Although Ceni played valiantly, Buyan won, 1-0, in a not-surprising scoreline.

After its poor showing in the Baptism of Fire, Ceni embarked on its first World Cup qualification campaign. Not many people payed attention, and the team, led by Pablito Numede, managed to scrape up a few points before going home in ignominy. If one could say that Ceni's first qualification campaign was a three-year-old's small beach bucket, Ceni's second campaign barely made a drop in that bucket. The short description: nobody really cared. Sure, maybe some people were disappointed by the team's quite awful performance, but the general populace shrugged. In World Cup 69, Ceni finally started caring about its World Cup qualification prospects. Unsurprisingly, they weren't good. Although Ceni did manage to secure draws against Felix and Chiata, and a win against the then-twenty-ninth-ranked Super-Llamaland, it was not enough to make even a small dent in the large wall separating Ceni from World Cup qualification. In World Cup 70, Ceni had a real chance at qualifying. Despite falling 2-9 down to Audioslavia, Ceni notched a win against the second seed Neu Engollon to get a chance to defeat Electrum in a last-match day decider at home. Apparently the gods of fate were not smiling on the Cenian team, for the team fell by one goal, ending hopes of a playoff spot and World Cup qualification. Ceni's prospects had come so close, yet they were as far away as ever. At the Cup of Harmony, Ceni defeated Neu Engollon again, and shockingly defeated world number 9 and eventual champion Turori, ending a losing slide against the top 10. However, Ceni could not end its losing slide against Electrum, whom they faced in the Round of 16, losing for the third time in a row.

Ceni came back yet again for World Cup 71. It started disappointingly, with a loss to Zenic and a draw to the hitherto-unknown Octinstine courtesy of an Alliance for Cenian Future ploy. After that, Ceni won against second seed Barunia. On paper, the second half of qualification should have been good enough: four wins, one against top seed Blouman Empire, and three draws. Unfortunately, the draws were against Zenic at home and against the minnow Aynard, ranked in the three hundreds, and they sealed Ceni's doom. Soothsayers and gamblers who bet on Ceni's failure were the only ones celebrating. Without the disappointing draws to the bottom of the group, Ceni would have made the playoff spot; with five more points against Zenic, Ceni would have qualified outright. Alas, the gods of fate had conspired against Ceni once again, and Ceni would move to the Cup of Harmony at home. It performed decently. Despite draws to Kazamatsuri and Matthewsiana in the group stage, Ceni managed to advance to the Round of 16, where it defeated Darvale to reach the quarterfinals and Mizuyuki on penalties to reach the semifinals. It lost to Valanora, hardly surprising, and Saintland in the third place match, but Ceni finally had made somewhat of a mark in international football. It felt it was ready to qualify.

However, the dream did not come to fruition. In World Cup 72 qualification, the team lost to Barunia, a team it had beaten in World Cup 71, on the first match day and drew the 279th ranked Welcomzia. It then lost to the successor of Mizuyuki, Kirisaki, and drew with the 100th ranked side Vermark. Ceni's losses and disappointments kept coming, losing to minnows Emperor Pudu and Atrua. While the draws against Aynard and Octinstine were disturbing at best and heartbreaking at worst, Cenian supporters were crushed by their spell of bad luck during World Cup 72. A target for their fury was manager Osman Ibarra, who was sacked by the Cenian Football Federation, and replaced by Kirk Koromin, father of star Kel Koromin and manager of Tir Snake Strike, Ceni's best club. The switch seemed to have improved morale by a bit, as the team got revenge on Welcomzia, Vermark, and Atrua (all by the score of 3-2) and drew Kirisaki. However, it was not enough, as the pesky Emperor Pudu managed to defeat Ceni, and Ceni did not qualify, with a low take of 18 points. Surprisingly, however, Ceni improved one spot in the rankings, to forty-fourth. At this seemingly happy news, however, Cenian officials rued that they could have advanced into the top 40 with a better performance. It came to the Cup of Harmony facing an identity crisis and a crisis of leadership. However, its Cup of Harmony - a let's see our problems run for new coach Kirk Koromin - did not work out so well, with a loss to Barunia in the Group Stage as well as a heartbreaking penalty kick defeat to Chiata in the Round of 16. Ceni comes to the World Cup cautiously optimistic and hoping that it will finally qualify on its seventh attempt.
