History

Associated Godlands has always harbored a passion for the game, but the most organized play that existed was churches playing against one another. However, the Associated Godlands government has recently decided to take a more vested interest in soccer, starting with entering the World Cup. In Associated Godlands's first ever international match in the Baptism of Fire, 50,000 followers made the long trip to Star United States to see them play out a 0-0 draw against Recuecn. Associated Godlands then scored their first goal and earned their first win in the next match against United RussoAsia, a 3-0 victory. They followed that up with a dominating 4-0 win over Helmon to finish first in the group and make the knockout stages. Unfortunately, they didn't last long, falling 5-1 to Port Christopher in the round of 16. But fans were still optimistic about Associated Godlands's chances in the upcoming World Cup. However, those hopes largely fell flat. Associated Godlands, despite their occasional shows of flair and the heroics of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, often looked lifeless, and only managed one win in 14 matches, along with four draws. The seven-point showing was disappointing, but the Obeyers were consolidated with an invitation to the Cup of Harmony. Unfortunately, they struggled once again, only gaining one point and finishing last in their group.

Associated Godlands also has a rich history outside of soccer. The nation was established 2015 years ago when The Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was born and cast His glow over previously dark, barren lands. He made these lands, now called Associated Godlands, burst with life. Associated Godlands has been a paradise ever since.

BRENECIA
Preferred Formation:
4-3-3
Style Modifier: +2
Home Stadium: Kingsgarden - recently refurbished, a 58,000 all-seater in the capital of Rozelle.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: the Patriots

Expectations were reaching their nadir, and yet... somehow Brenecia conquered Apox, Buyan, Nephara and the whole of Esportiva. Under new leadership in the form of Sasha Bale and jettisoning many of their best veterans (Breton, Connolly, Scherzer, Camden), Brenecia have somehow rebuilt into something that look just about good enough to return to the glory days - a strong qualification into the World Cup, then three-and-done. The quality is thin on the ground - what the hell is Syrene Ramsey doing at an international football match? - and there's something of a sense of a generational gap, but there's some good players in this lot, and they should, at the very least, stir something up.

First Team and Tactics

For all the good that a switch of formation to 4-2-3-1 did, it was a damage limitation strategy for a team that lacked a decisive defensive midfielder and had to be cautious. Now, in light of Lilith Paterson's emergence and a weaker field in Qualifying, a more traditional 4-3-3 is expected to see the light. Bale's side plays lightning-quick, cavalier football, constantly attacking at pace. It's an exceptionally quick but not especially technical side, and maximising opportunities ensures that a few will land in the net. 4-2-3-1 remains a more defensive option when Bale feels the need to put the stranglehold on the game.

Sasha BALE - 43
Manager
Appearance
A smallish, fairly pointy brunette, well-tanned and with a penchant for dress shirts.
Summary Bale has held one job - manager of Kingsgrove. She took them through some good years, continuing the philosophy of youthful, attacking football relying on quick movement, but ultimately she was fired after a steady slide soon after the Brenecia-Mareibat merger. Having worked for a long time as the assistant manager under Bardsley and been her direct successor at club level, she is largely regarded as the Bardsley-lite option. Her approach to squad selection seems to be to rip off the bandaid of transition and get it over with as soon as possible.

Fiona SYLVER - 42
Assistant Manager
Appearance
A well-freckled ginger, 5'8" and still quite lean.
Summary A much-loved former captain of Brenecia, veteran of its ill-fated Baptism of Fire, Sylver was a calculated choice for a manager who desperately needs to earn respect. By all accounts, has a highly-refined tactical mindset as well, and took to coaching like a duck to water. Right now, though, she will almost certainly be needed to stick the squad together more than to make arrows on a chalkboard.
1 - Geneva URQUHART - 28 - Image SC Kiel
29 caps, 11 clean sheets
Appearance
Just 5'7", pointy-faced, stereotypically green-eyed and freckled ginger with short hair.
Summary A dark horse and eye-catching late riser to the challenge for the Patriots, with great reflexes and an unnerving way to get to shots no matter what. Great distribution and ability with her feet form about 90% of a complete product. The problem is that she's obviously pretty poor aerially, and she is just a little error-prone. Was the standout player of a chastening World Cup cycle, still a standout player during a glorious regional tournament and remains the only credible number 1 Brenecia can call on.

12 - Sheila CANNON - 26 - Image South Rathia
1 cap, 0 clean sheets
Appearance
5'11", athletically-built and with a scruffy mop of dark brown hair.
Summary A decent goalkeeper and a very good shot-stopper, Cannon is decidedly uncomfortable with the ball at her feet while being exceptionally violent when coming out of the net to claim the ball. Is, at least, reasonably reliable, but it's fair to say that the Patriots will rely on Urquhart to stay fit and not be suspended. Came on in the Campionato Esportiva when Urquhart picked up a knock, and didn't disgrace herself.

20 - Greig LARSSON - 26 - Image Francisca Orient
Uncapped
Appearance
6'6", lanky and with a broadly windswept look.
Summary Sarian-born but with some Brenecian heritage, Larsson returned to the A-League fairly early in his career and, when given the chance, was relatively good for Orient. Distribution tends to come down to just hoofing it upfield, but he's easily the most comfortable in the air of any of Brenecia's goalkeepers, and has a reputation as a solid, reliable shot-stopper.

30 - Olenna KNIGHT - 31 - Image Kingsgrove
Uncapped
Appearance
Tall, lean and quick on her feet, with a long, angular face and long brown hair.
Summary Knight is a good and reliable shot-stopper, but her energy coming out of goal, ability to keep calm with the ball at her feet and fantastic distribution have steaded her well with Kingsgrove. Not world-class, but certainly good enough to hold down her place. Her one weak point is that she can be a little flappy when coming out for crosses.
2 - Scout GIVEN - 27 - Image Firewood City
Right-back
39 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A tall, lean and angular sandy blonde with very deep brown eyes.
Summary Quick-witted and light on her feet, Given is the sort of reliable defensive fullback that is a genuine panacea to the Patriots' defensive woes. A journeywoman who has played for five different clubs in three different countries, Given is decent going forward but prefers to hunt down wingers and lock down the flank. Passionate and aggressive, occasionally to a fault.

3 - Gerry DUFFY - 26 - Image Bellight FC
Left-back
19 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Short and scruffy. Cat-green eyes, sandy blond hair, and two sleeve tattoos.
Summary Born in Nephara to Brenecian migrant parents, Duffy developed out of the Coret Hawks academy (and still has the accent), and after two seasons starting regularly in the Premiership saw him take new, bold strides as a player he was snapped up by Bellight after relegation. He may not be the most technical player out there, but he's quick, strong, happy to take beatings and to dish them out.

5 - Orson FAULKNER (c) - 31 - Image AC Izotz Zubia
Centre-back, right-back
80 caps, 5 goals
Appearance
Weathered-looking auburn man with rough-hewn features.
Summary A powerful figure in defence, Faulkner is an icon within the Brenecian national team. Strong, intensely physical and with the heart of a lion, Faulkner has been leading by example both on and off the pitch. Has a knack for well-timed goals, too. Brenecia aren't going anywhere without big Orson Faulkner at the back, and there's no telling how long he might last with the national team.

6 - Brandon DUGUID - 25 - Image Mallox
Centre-back
30 caps, 1 goals
Appearance
Classically athletic, with short auburn hair, stubble and piercing blue eyes.
Summary A genuine prospect on a declining Kingsgrove team, Duguid surprised many by moving to Haerlighet Ligan champions Mallox. "I'm just looking for a new challenge," claimed the centreback, and the idea of helping the sleeping giant of the Cosumarite league achieve in UICA was one that appealed to him. He's a skilled centreback, not prone to mistakes and calm in possession, with a passing range one would sooner associate with a midfielder.

17 - Fiona BERENGER - 29 - Image Crisisbless
Right-back
70 caps, 4 goals
Appearance
A lanky, long-legged blonde. Small snake tattoo around her left wrist.
Summary An aggressive, attack-minded, nippy little fullback, used to providing width in a narrow Crisisbless side, and ideally suited to overlapping a side like this. Something of a two-trick pony with her pace and crossing, and can occasionally be suspect in defence, but adds a lot of dimension to this team.

18 - Gretchen COLBACK - 26 - Image Lotus Park
Centre-back
7 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A lanky, rather awkward blonde. Prone to making unflattering, photoshoppable faces in the heat of the match.
Summary Might not be the obvious choice to help Brenecia's defensive woes, but Colback combines workrate and pace with the traditional virtues of strength and aerial prowess. A liability with the ball at her feet and perhaps not the cleanest tackler, but one way or another Colback generally gets the ball clear of danger. The league's most frequent fouler last season - not especially dirty, but she just tends to clatter people.

19 - Julian COLLINGWOOD - 26 - Image Hastmead Diamante
Left-back
5 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A curly-haired good ol' boy, with striking brown eyes, solid-looking face and a barrel-chested physique.
Summary A versatile and energetic leftback currently enjoying life on Hastmead Diamante's bench, Collingwood may be a depth option but he's definitely capable enough to mount a good case for the national team. Capable of playing as a wingback, Collingwood's a good all-rounder, and has a knack for dangerous looping crosses to the far post. Forced his way into national team contention in a strong CE, and should continue to cause selection headaches.

22 - Ash KILCANE - 30 - Image Rozelle
Centre-back
26 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
Tall, strong and lean, with braided auburn hair.
Summary A devilishly fast player, Kilcane's no brute, but she can more than hold her own. A player most at home hanging tightly to her mark, harrying and lashing out at them over the course of the match, and rarely caught out of position - though her single-mindedness can occasionally count against her. Has been in and around the national team for a long time without ever really stamping a leading role in it.

25 - Lena WATERS - 25 - Image Guilder
Right-back
Uncapped
Appearance
A small, whippetty woman with a hawkish face and a long brown ponytail.
Summary Formerly of Kingsgrove, nothing seemed to galvanise Waters as much as being sold from her hometown club to lowly Guilder. A clean, quietly efficient tackler who knows when to make her move up the pitch, Waters is a significant step below her more stylish colleagues but time is on her side, and Brenecia needs options. She won't disappoint.

29 - Anaximander SCRIVENER - 24 - Image Guilder
Centre-back
Uncapped
Appearance
Tall, strong and athletic, with a Mediterranean cast to his features.
Summary A big, tough centre-half who came from pretty much nowhere to be one of the leading lights of the A-League. Slow on his feet, but surprisingly measured in possession, and pretty much unbeatable in the air. Still, he's ultimately inexperienced against top-class forwards. That's the million-dollar question, because at the minute the Patriots could use some top-class defenders.
4 - Lilith FIFE - 28 - Image Kingsgrove
Holding Midfielder
13 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A lean, 5'2" ginger, with a once-broken nose that never really set properly.
Summary A battling midfield terrier, but one who hasn't quite fulfilled the hopes of the nation. Fife has historically struggled against international-class midfields, but remains a viable option to clamp down the centre. Is a clean but uninspiring passer, and while she isn't much of a physical presence, she's very fast and can run the full game in hot pursuit. Picks up yellow cards like candy.

8 - Diandra KILBANE - 28 - Image Crisisbless
Central Midfielder
40 caps, 8 goals
Appearance
6', angular auburn. Darting cat-green eyes.
Summary When called upon to make the step up to the Nepharim Premiership, Kilbane did not disappoint, dazzling her way into the starting XI of Crisisbless and never letting go. Has undoubtedly become a better player for the experience - not just an optimistic playmaker now, but a quick, decisive and intelligent game-winner who runs the channels and gets the ball moving forward. Will likely be the foil to the immobile Purrington.

10 - Catherine PURRINGTON - 28 - Image Wye United
Central Midfielder
78 caps, 24 goals
Appearance
A short, rather stocky, unathletic woman with a short mop of dark brown hair.
Summary Purrington's not winning any awards for athleticism. Or defensive workrate, or attacking workrate, or physicality, or pace. Furthermore, her right foot is pretty much useless. This leaves her with one foot on a short, chunky body. But what a foot. More talent than any Brenecian in history is confined to a brain and a left foot, and when they're unleashed, a limitless supply of audacious through-balls, ambitious forward passes and blazing shots for the top corner spring forth. Brenecia needs this rough, slightly tarnished diamond.

14 - Cathy BLACKSLATE - 26 - Image Harmonica Tundra
Central Midfielder
12 caps, 0 goals
Appearance
A tall blonde, athletically-built and with a striking face.
Summary An unselfish, well-rounded presence in midfield who excelled alongside Diandra Kilbane during the Campionato Esportiva despite basically being a weaker version of the same player. Finds herself in the right positions, puts herself about in defence, passes the ball quickly and cleanly to those around her and generally keeps things ticking. That said,

16 - Laura GALLOWAY - 27 - Image Rozelle
Central Midfielder
8 caps, 1 goals
Appearance
Unremarkable-looking brunette, but with bright blue eyes. Bony build.
Summary A gamechanging player. Galloway's the type to belt forward as soon as she takes hold of the ball and get it moving somewhere dangerous, always looking for a killer pass. Not that she's averse to striking out on her own and getting goals, either - and she's fast, too, with a way of getting into the right positions and running into channels. At her weakest out of possession, and a poor tackler.

21 - Lilith PATERSON - 24 - Image Maximum Rovers
Holding Midfielder
Uncapped
Appearance
5'4", lean and constantly smiling. A mop of blonde hair, usually with a black headband.
Summary Okay, so Paterson was born and raised in the Laith, now plays in Maximum and has never been to Brenecia in her life. But Brenecia's a small country, and sometimes you need to look at where maternal grandfather's were born. Mick Reeve lived in Falkner until he was five, and that's good enough for the WCC. Either way, Paterson isn't the best technical player but works wonders as the pure defensive midfielder proven at a high level that Brenecia have needed, badly, for years.

26 - Jess CURTIN - 27 - Image South Rathia
Central Midfielder
Uncapped
Appearance
Broad-shouldered brunette with a sharp face.
Summary Another midfield workhorse who tends to be overlooked if she's doing her job right. Links the play together and fancies herself shooting from distance, but her ability to be more or less everywhere at once is what sets her apart. Admired for a limitless engine.

28 - Syrene RAMSEY - 26 - Image Saint Alexander
Central Midfielder
Uncapped
Appearance

Summary Ramsey is the warm body of the 30-man squad, a decent player by A-League standards with a heart like a lion. Quick and energetic, with the ability to string a few passes together... but an international midfielder? That might be a little optimistic. Still, she'll get the job done.
7 - Isadora CULLEN - 29 - Image Barbury Town
Right Winger, striker
86 caps, 22 goals
Appearance
Pale brunette with a sharp, ferretty face.
Summary A sharp, quick and intelligent winger. Some disagreed with her decision to leave Kingsgrove, where she was dazzling the (then much weaker) A-League, to join ANL high-fliers Barbury Town. Initially a squad player, she eventually fought her way into the starting lineup, though usually as a striker. Swift, technically adept, decisive at whipping in crosses and, crucially, a good finisher, Cullen has so often made the difference for Brenecia in the past - scoring, for example, their first ever World Cup goal. She will doubtless be needed again.

9 - Sheila MADDON - 26 - Image Sabrefell Moths
Striker
21 caps, 9 goals
Appearance
A 5'5", wiry auburn with a small, round face but piercing blue eyes.
Summary With a Brenecian mother, former Nephara U-21 international Maddon came out of nowhere to land into prominence after some consistent performances in the Premiership. Insanely quick (probably the fastest on the team) she's a consistent finisher marred only by a white-hot temper and a tendency to throw off her shirt during goal celebrations. Where she lacks is physicality, though she's a little too unafraid to stick her boot in.

11 - Dani PENDRAGON - 28 - Image Northern Union
Left Winger
27 caps, 6 goals
Appearance
Average height and build, with short blonde hair and pale green eyes.
Summary A quick, silky winger with two good feet and a gift for beating her marker. Excels at low crosses whipped into the box at pace, and fancies herself to cut inside and get goals herself. An energetic presence on the left, and she can genuinely galvanise an attack. That said, she faces a real battle to get into the starting lineup with Thatcher in such rampant form.

13 - Naphtali THATCHER - 23 - Image Iskara Daii
Left Winger
6 caps, 2 goals
Appearance
Dark-eyed, long-boned and tall, with wavy brown hair. Looks every bit the kind of solid country boy you'd take home to your parents.
Summary Hailing from approximately the middle of nowhere, Thatcher isn't most people's idea of the modern footballer. Honest, steadfast and devoutly Protestant, Thatcher dazzled the A-League for two seasons like a Roman candle before moving to the LigAnaia. Not a flashy player, moving more or less in straight or diagonal lines either towards goal or to provide the cross and using both pace and unnaturally good control to dominate opponents.

15 - Ursula RANKIN - 23 - Image Centre for Excellence
Striker
3 caps, 2 goals
Appearance
Blunt snub-nose, round face, stocky build, squinty green eyes, mop of dirty blonde hair. Stands an even 5'6".
Summary Rankin came in as the all-time top scorer of the Brenecian national team left... and yet it was a player who had never even played a senior club match. Well, all that changed when she scored winning goals against Apox and Nephara. Surprisingly quick at a dash, mazy with her feet, surprisingly good in the air and a ruthless finisher, Rankin has it all... except experience. Surely that, too, will come in time. It's not for nothing she's on FC Endeavour's books.

23 - Ronan BOWDITCH - 23 - Image Rozelle United
Right Winger
Uncapped
Appearance
A 6'2", strongly-built brunet. Wears an easy smile and a lot of hair gel.
Summary Another guileless but explosive winger. Routinely outpaces and overpowers fullbacks before floating in a dangerous cross, but the final product isn't always there yet. He's already an intimidating prospect up front, and ought to win a contract abroad sooner rather than later - there's already been interest from Nephara. But he's another player who is unproven above A-League level, and has a worrying lack of technique.

24 - Adelaide SWAIN - 27 - Image Rozelle
Right Winger
22 caps, 3 goals
Appearance
Stereotypically freckled pale ginger, with a flashy undercut hairstyle.
Summary Swain's form has been patchy for the national team - sometimes she makes the difference, sometimes she's infuriatingly invisible. Swain's one real consistent skill is to hit the ball past the fullback and run really fast after it, but whether or not she can do anything past that point is a mystery. Still, she generally creates enough chances to get in one decisive cross or shot per match - and when she's on song, she can win a match.

27 - Marcia DANMARK - 28 - Image Alianza FC
Striker
3 caps, 1 goal
Appearance
Tall, lithe, and with liberally-dyed hair - jet black with blue streaks.
Summary The sort of striker who hangs off the shoulder, Danmark is exceptionally quick and can get to top speed in the blink of an eye. While competent in the air, she's not the most physical, and she's also frequently offside - it has to be said that her finishing is substandard. If she scored every chance she had, she'd be unstoppable. As it stands, she's still a good option to have. Made her mark in the A-League with Westpike and Rozelle before jumping ship to a typically lucrative contract in San Jose Guayabal.

Notes

Following a disastrous World Cup 72 Finals, Rule Theriault's National Soccer Team has been returned to him. Theriault previously managed the team for 6 World Cup cycles and, though the 70th World Cup cycle was particularly ugly for his team, Theriault had several impressive accomplishments as the manager of this team. Assembling a team of high school dropouts, reform school stars and other rogues of society, Theriault created a cohesive unit that, at one point, were able to beat the best teams in the multiverse by the sheer power of their belief in themselves and in the inherent superiority of the Republican people. This was never exemplified more than during World Cup 68, when Theriault's predictions that his team would win the World Cup on home soil were laughed at by pretty much everybody outside of his own nation. However, few were laughing when a series of miraculous victories saw the Republicans knock off the supposedly unbeatable Polar Islandstates and earn a spot in the World Cup final. Then, it all began to fell apart as Theriault threw a fit over the decision, by his co-hosts from Legalese, to hold the match in Legalese. The team came out flat in that match and began a decline that eventually led to the nationalization of Theriault's team by Consul Kulseth.

Petrus Fadius was hand-picked by Kulseth to manage the team and he had some success doing so, leading the team to a third place finish at World Cup 71 and to consecutive World Cup qualifications, on merit, for the first time ever. However, the "Holy Republican" National Team did not win a single match at the World Cup 72 finals and Consul Nicholls, after the fall of the Holy Republican regime, returned the ownership of the team to Theriault as one of many actions intended to bring about a restoration of the old Federation of Free Republics.

The team is built around the star trio of Koby Theodore, Connie Chase and Kyle Bolton. The polarizing Theodore, who is widely hated outside of the Free Republics but beloved within his home nation, is the best of the group. Connie Chase is the star of Trojana Condommakers FC in Quebec and the team's sole female player, though other women have played for the Republican National Team in the past. She was left off the team for World Cups 71 and 72 because of Fadius's belief that women don't belong on the pitch, but is now joining the starting lineup for the first time. Bolton, like Theodore, is a controversial figure with a juvenile rap sheet a mile long and a reputation as the most famous playboy in the Free Republics. Although Bolton and Theodore have both settled down these days and no longer court controversy like they used to, they remain 2 of the most hated and most talented men in international soccer today.

BANGUELA

Colours - Red and black
Trigramme - BNG

Manager - Joao Ferreira
Captain - Flavio Kanté

Nickname - Os Gnus

Style Mod - -2
Record - 2-1-2

An important change in personnel with Marco Freite being released from his duties after a difficult Baptism of Fire. At certain times Os Gnus showcased certain talents, made it out of the group phase and slayed Damukuni but were beaten by later silver-medallist Fluvique in the quarterfinals. When Academica de Bassuto started a press-fuelled love affair with Marco Freite, the FA took the firm decision to release Marco Freite and continue with his assistant Joao Ferreira. To continue that path of firm decisions, the captain’s ribbon was given to the experienced Flavio Kanté and the starting line-up got a firm shake-up. Nonetheless, he only called up three new players.

Image
1. Joao Pinto - goalkeeper - Uniao Mpulo - 5 appearances

At the age of 30, Joao Pinto constitutes a capital element within the iron backbone of Uniao Mpulo, without hesitation considered as one of the strongest sides across the nation. The lanky Joao Pinto is notorious for the miraculous saves he shakes out of his gloves at times but makes a gaffe every once and a while as well. Still ’A Pantera’ is an almost undisputed number one for the nation and one of the faces of this national eleven. It is the result of guarding the nets for Uniao for nine seasons in a row, growing from a young kid with a big mouth into a more forethoughtful goalkeeper who can lead a back four and earns respect from fans and opponents alike. The vice-captain of the Banguelan side is a vital key player.

Image
2. Ze Mata - right defender - Uniao Mpulo - 5 appearances

There are a few solid laws in football that are seldom broken and one of those is that you do not position guys who reach below a metre seventy as defender. Ze Mata defies that rule already 28 years with class and volume. ‘A Buldogue Negro’ will be the first one on and the last one off the training pitch and all those hours result in a very strong right back. When in defence, he has a proper tackle in his skillset along with a good insight and dedicated teamplay. Offensively, he often pops up at the wing both for a long pass or in a combination over the ground. It makes Ze Mata a polyvalent player who is beloved by fans and coaches for his positive attitude towards the group. A true key man for Uniao Mpulo, despite his size.

Image
3. Helder Barbosa - central defender - Associaçao Bassuto - 5 appearances

Aged 35, Helder Barbosa wore the captain ribbon for the Banguelan side at the Baptism of Fire. It got him a bit too much spotlight as he is a modest back but that might not do justice to the qualities on and off the pitch of the Associaçao defender. Helder Barbosa is correctly a respected centre back who can direct the play and manages to stop the attack with a combination of well-timed tackling and clever positioning. Admittedly, this makes up for his moderate velocity and turning like an ice-cream van. A gentlemen to the ref, his attitude makes him a positive example to the youth – even if his personal life catches the attention as well from time to time.

Image
4. Djalma Yaba - central defender - Brasília Suchitoto [SJG] - 5 appearances

The main back will be Djalma Yaba, who must be considered as the strongest defender in the nation. After receiving a thorough guidance at Academica Bassuto, he was transferred to Sporting Clube Bassuto at 21 where he formed an unbreakable duo with Bada. Currently 25 years old, Djalma Yaba can account on the whole package for the modern defender: a strong header and tackler, the impressive speed of a lanky player yet powerful enough to survive the duelling. The main criticism on this gifted defender stems from his tendency to give risky passes forward – root of either a brilliant opening or a dangerous situation – and his big mouth. His bright performance at the BoF earned him a lucrative transfer to San José Guayabal.

Image
5. Jacinto Freite - central defender - Uniao Mpulo - 2 appearances

It is an enigma to several followers of the career of Jacinto Freite how he eventually ended up as a central defender. The young version of this tall bundle of muscles was used as a targetman by numerous coaches, until a series of unexpected injuries forced the Uniao Mpulo manager to position him as defending midfield. A season lower, Jacinto Freite was pushed even a row more back. The result? A sturdy back with an impressive header, tons of horse power and a remarkable rush forward every once and a while. When dominating, as Mpulo often does, this makes him a match decider quite often but if his team is not the superior side, the lack of experience of this 29-year as pure defender becomes a bit more visible.

Image
6. Chingala - left winger - SC Bassuto - 3 appearances

It is not easy to give a specific position for Chingala, but we generally tend to categorize him as a left midfielder at 29. As a player for SC Bassuto, he usually manages to be left back and left wing at once, not afraid to make a rush into space nor go and keep an opposing attacker in control. It makes Chingala a vital player for SC and their mastermind Flavio Kanté as he is both a vacuum cleaner and an offensive option to get the ball to. His cross passes are not exceptional, but he makes up in volume for that. For someone who spends most of his time on the wing, he makes a decent winger and his control over a long pass is very strong. It all makes the calm Chingala a silent force of SC Bassuto but will he find his rhythm in a different system as well?

Image
7. Figuerinho - defensive midfield - Luis Ángel Firpo [SJG]- 3 appearances

With Figuerinho, at 23 a major prodigy, the manager adds a whole different type of defending midfield to his squad. A bit slim for the position, he makes up in raw power with impressive insight in the game and crucial positioning. This polite son from a former minister puts as little risk as possible in his game, but can dictate the pace and forms an unnoticed maestro with that. His impressive calm made him despite his age already captain for Vitoria, being overlooked due to his lesser stats. The Guayabalan side Luis Ángel Firpo understood that his other skills firmly compensate that and signed him for four seasons. His typical skills could be very useful when time asks for it and it earned him a spot in the starting squad.

Image
8. Edison Joao - central midfielder - Desportivo Mpulo - 2 appearances

While Edison Joao is often overlooked by the big masses, this powerful midfield from Desportivo Mpulo has gained a status as cult hero for Desportivo Mpulo despite his age of 25. The reason is his grinta, his willingness to go for every ball and capacity to cover a lot of ground for ninety minutes. Do not mistake him as a simple box-to-box runner, Edison Joao has a fine pass in his left foot and often stimulates the counterattack with his dangerous infiltrations. Something that hasn’t been missed by the national manager which earned him this selection, despite his lack of calmness eye-in-eye with the goalie. It makes Edison Joao someone who will surely earn minutes against physical opponents, but no undisputed starter.

Image
9. Ze Vidigal - right attacker - Uniao Mpulo - 5 appearances

It was not so easy to compare so far due to a lack of unified competition, but newspapers on the hand of Uniao Mpulo tend to proclaim Ze Vidigal as the most dangerous striker of the nation. Often operating from the right side off the pitch, defenders tremble over his infiltrations. Quick feet and the necessary firepower generally do the trick here. At 30, Ze Vidigal is at the peak of his capacities and has grown from a scruffy type into a tabloid star with the yearly changing model by his side. High goals tally’s, nice technique, well, there has to be a downside? Ze Vidigal is not the hardest working lad in the business and many wonder how that will turn out when Banguela gets under pressure but if he’s starting seems out of the question.

Image
10. Flavio Kanté - central midfielder - SC Bassuto - 4 appearances

Already for more than a decade, Flavio Kanté is probably the best-known face in Banguelan football. At 33, he can already look back at several glorious moments with Sporting Clube Bassuto, a team which is built around this two-footed midfielder. O Chefe combines tons of natural charisma and leadership with a pair of brilliant feet and a vision of similar quality. His main low is a rather moderate speed, which often puts him a bit back further down the pitch although he can be a danger in front of goal due to his excellent positioning. Flavio Kanté has earned the confidence from Joao Ferreira as the man behind the attackers, but one can be curious whether he will be able to deliver, not the youngest anymore.

Image
11. Carlos Neto - left attacker - Associaçao Bassuto - 5 appearances

With 33, Carlos Neto is one of the more senior players in the selection, but the left-footed attacker still goes strong despite the kilometres on the counter. The Associaçao Bassuto forward is one of those players who excels in nothing particular but, as a consequence, is so versatile that he finds the weak spot of most defenders. Being it either in or out the box, one better keeps an eye on Carlos Neto before he makes the nets tremble again. Will he tear up a defence and score three? Probably not, but he does his bit of the work and has an eye open for a fellow teammate. A team player on and off the pitch and that gave him the spot in the selection over more technically skilled but lazier strikers. Carlos Neto, an appreciable lad.

Image
12. Guilhermo Marques - goalkeeper - Tshemanda Clube

It is not accidental that the 22-year old Guilhermo Marques earned himself the status of reserve goalie. Till a year ago, he used to be a noble unknown to anyone but the dedicated follower. Things changed, however, when the spot between the posts at Tshemanda Clube became wide open and the management picked up a sympathetic youngster from the province to fill that gap. The only one in the selection to reach the double metre, Guilhermo Marques is a force of nature on goal but still a lot quicker to the ground than you would expect. His moderate footwork and lack of experience at the highest level make sure that he will have to warm the bench but his dominance in the air shows promise for the future.

Image
13. Mananga - central attacker - SC Bassuto - 3 appearances

We’re still not entirely sure whether his manager meant it as an insult or as a compliment but he once said about Mananga that he’s “the worst footballer to score so often”. A late bloomer, only three years at the highest level with Sporting Clube Bassuto but already 29, he never earned the respect he deserves. Admittedly, his skill level is low and fans used to snicker when another attempted dribble got smothered between his clumsy legs. A grin that quickly would disappear once he fired one behind his goalie. Mananga ain’t a technical ace but compensates this with a range of physical skills which make him a difficult fellow to defend and a state of mind which is necessary for a striker - confidence in that he’ll turn that one little chance into a decisive goal.

Image
14. Amarinho - attacking midfielder - Uniao Mpulo - 4 appearances

Several descriptions are made, attempting to grasp him as so few defenders can. ‘The quicksilver legs’. ‘The twirling terror’. ‘The dribble of the Gods’. ‘The uncatchable one’. Uniao Mpulo fans generally just describe him as Amarinho, their beloved number ten. No Banguelan manages so well to tear apart a defence and decide a game with a clever pass, a witty back heel or a piercing shot. Hardly reaching a metre seventy-five, his reaction speed is exceptional as is his touch of the ball. Despite his rebellious image, it goes with a clever head that often thinks one step ahead. But his limited stamina did not result in a glorious Baptism of Fire and Joao Ferreira has little confidence in the 24-year old. Will he get a chance and will he grab it?

Image
15. Nefala - defensive midfield - Uniao Mpulo - 2 appearances

The body of an adult wardrobe, shoulders that are twice the regular size and a typical neck, it’s no wonder that they tend to call the 27-year old Nefala ‘the Ox’. A true force of nature for Uniao Mpulo, Nefala will clean up after the attacking wizards that make the crowd explode with delight. This makes this gentle giant a very important paw in the scheme of his domestic coach as his tackling and shoulder charges, his simple passes and endless running ameliorate the whole team. His limited technique of this defensive midfield did not suffice at the international level at the Baptism of Fire and there is a little chance he’ll start. But when he joins the fight, players can be sure that Nefala won’t leave the scene until he has given all he’s got.

Image
16. Joaquim Lebo - central defender - Tshemanda Clube

While the majority had expected Helder Quinto, the defender from Sporting Clube Bassuto, or Nando Dias who partook in the Baptism of Fire, Joao Ferreira decided to add a central defender to the line-up. Only 19, Joaquim Lebo should be considered a long-term choice as this two-footed back has potential to go far. At Tshemanda Clube, he is already a starter for nearly two seasons, if that’s a testimony to his potential. If all goes according to plan, we will probably not see him appear but we do so in the future. Not afraid to face more physical opponents and not too slow either, he can handle any type of opponent. Even if he is already quite mature for his age, an occasional moment of lack of attention is not impossible.

Image
17. Luis Cangé - left defender - Atletico Ntangele - 3 appearances

‘A tad boring’ seldom is a compliment but Luis Cangé carries that predicate with pride. The calm and reliable left back has not got too much to offer when it is about offensive initiatives but the 26-year old forms someone with the tactical discipline and insight for the manager to build on. Domestically, he is feared by the countless quick-feeted wingers that terrorize our pitches for his well-timed and correct tackles. Another way in which Luis Cangé reminds one of a government bond is the lack of risk he constitutes: the Atletico Ntangele player hardly ever picks up a yellow card and picks certainty over anything in his passing. With an eye on the low experience the Banguelans have with this level, he is a valuable alternative to the starters.

Image
18. Lopes Valdo - right defender - Desportivo Mpulo

The back-up for Ze Mata comes from the neighbours of Desportivo Mpulo with the 24-year old Lopes Valdo who demonstrates that talent eventually will hit the surface. At only 17, he suddenly popped up in the first team of Mpulo FC but three years later his dream was a nightmare and his contract disbanded after disciplinary issues. After a year working in construction, Desportivo gave him a second chance at glory and hasn’t regretted so far. Lopes Valdo combines three lungs with a fine cross pass into the box. Not afraid to join the attack, he is beloved by the audience but that doesn’t make this right wing defender neglect his defensive tasks. Could work on his timing and a proper header would be fine as well, but nonetheless his career is finally back on the rails.

Image
19. Wilson Zuela - central midfielder - Randoil Purtaruca - 1 appearance

Central midfielder Wilson Zuela, a crafty fellow who earns his wage since this season for Randoil Purtaruca, the brand-new club founded for professional football by the nation’s biggest oil company, impressed during his sole game in the BoF. During the last few years, this 22-year old got some attention playing for Progresso Purtaruca and Zanda SC as a clearheaded number ten. The stat that might have attracted the attention is the one of his assisting passes, where Wilson Zuela shows his vision quite often. One should wonder if this doesn’t come to soon, lacking experience at the highest level so far. We will see whether his refined passing will convince the non-believers or whether his pace of execution is too slow to handle the kind of teams Banguela faces here.

Image
20. Rui Mokanga - left attacker - Uniao Mpulo

Without any doubt the sturdiest of our present strikers, the 21-year old Rui Mokanga is discovering how quick a take-off can go in football nation. Only two years ago, he was discussing quiting football, not making enough as left attacker from the minor Clube Tengala to support his family. But out of the blue, Uniao Mpulo picked him up and after a few months with the youth squad, he got promoted. Rui Mokanga impressed there with his lethal combination of natural strength and unexpected speed of execution. Despite being over a metre ninety, his handling of the leather is fluent and infiltrations to be feared, with a proper outcome in goals. If he can sort out his heading and mature a bit more, Rui Mokanga has the potential to grow into a starter.

Image
21. Fulco - right midfielder - Associaçao Bassuto

The easiest way in which we can characterize Fulco is by explaining how this skilled right midfielder earned his name. Just to the south of Berange, his original home town where he played for the local side for nearly a decade before switching to Associaçao Bassuto two seasons ago, there lies a range of three volcanoes. Two of them have died out but the smallest one still rumbles and whirls every once and a while. Its name? Fulco. Limited posture gets made up with fire in his legs and heart. Fulco has interesting variety in his game, infiltrating to the centre from time to time but being capable of making a move over a wing attacker. A 24-year old who will always do his bit but that does include picking up a card every now and then.

Image
22. Bogwa - right attacker - Uniao Lumpala

It seems to be a clear strategy from the new national team manager that new guys must lower the average age. With the 21-year old Bogwa, this target is certainly reached. Playing for arguably the weakest side of the Superliga, Bogwa has been getting accustomed to battling against strong opposition with little support. A pocket-size player, he has impressive technical skills and dares to shoot from unexpected corners, but not always with the same result. The Lumpala forward has earned some fame for his capacity to score penalties from which, according to the legend, never missed a single one. A guy with potential and he might form an interesting reserve player when battling against a firm double wall.

Image
23. Landa Landa - goalkeeper - Azules de Feranda

As expected no Antonio Lupapa as third goalie as the Ntangele veteran has declared himself that he’s ‘too old for this stuff’. No Akongo, the SC Bassuto who is generally considered a stronghold between the posts but not a solution for the future at 33. As a consequence, Landa Landa got an invitation to the national team in the mailbox along with his 23th birthday cards. Quite spectacular and not afraid of giving a little bit of drama to his saves and coaching but beyond the surface is a sturdy and reliable goalkeeper who has the capacity to build a nice career. An advantage is as well that he recognises that he is number three in the picking order and that he will just appreciate being on the bench along with all these big players.

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:
Choose my goalscorers: Sure
Godmod scoring events: Please, not
RP injuries to my players: Fine, but not beyond the scope of the tournament
Godmod injuries to my players: Don’t
Hand out yellow cards to my players: All right
Hand out red cards to my players: Yes, but only one
Godmod other events: If it’s funny

General note of advice - please read my previous RP, it should contain a line-up.
Also note that most of the names are "complete". It makes little sense to say "Mata" when referring to "Ze Mata". Colloquially, one can say "Ze".

Notes

This is the same Feministvs Sanctvsterra team that previously competed in Qualifying for World Cup 67. At that time, they were regarded as a terrorist organization by the government of Saintland, which was boycotting the World Cup after losing a host vote. In reality, they were a radical feminist group that had used controversial tactics to promote themselves. Feministvs Sanctvsterra members, at that time, used false names in order to protect their safety. Now, they are a political party which is contesting the first ever election for a Sanctii Parliament.

They are a defensive-minded team. Due to the circumstances under which members of the organization lived, the Feministvs Sanctvsterra Soccer Team has high levels of team chemistry. They lived their lives on the run from the authorities for several years, so members of Feministvs Sanctvsterra are deeply loyal to one another and to their organization. This loyalty translates into team-oriented play, with a focus on gaining and maintaining possession rather than attacking.

Although the Feministvs Sanctsterra Soccer Team does not include any male players, the idea that Feministvs Sanctvsterra is all female is a common misconception. Around 10 percent of the group's membership is male, mostly comprised of brothers of the group's members.

National Football Team of Schottia

World Cup 73

------------------------------
Manager: Jane Gullie 39
Assistant: John Murray 50
First Team Coach: David Chettwell 63
First Team Coach: Hannah Lorborg 38
Gk Coach: Peter Acheson 47
Physio: Jimmy Anderson 50
------------------------------

Jane Gullie is one of the nations best young managers, and was selected for the position over a string of more experienced candidates. She has made a name for herself with the measured tactics, which led New Belfast Warriors to their first title in ten years. She brings with her assistant John Murray and talented coach Hannah Lorborg, who join up with David Chettwell to complete the backroom staff.

Style Modifier: +1
------

The defence
There is unlikely to be much change to the personnel from the World Cup 72, however Gullie normally operates more of a flat back four than that of her predecessor. Although defence hasn't always been Schottia's strong point in the past, it is possible that the new manager's approach could help to sure things up.

Team captain Lucas D'Araby is the most experienced player in the squad, and he is renowned for his shot stopping ability, making him an obvious choice for the number one jersey. At centre-back Schottia have a good blend of youth and experience. Darren Hanlon will be sure to start, as the FC Matovallanen man continues to establish himself as the nation's top defender. Along side him it will probably be Chris Okywä, but the call ups for Ben Ross and Scott Burton, hint to the fact that Gullie is already starting to bring in her own players. All indications show that she will keep faith in 1860 Azoth right-back Larry Watt, with left-back a toss up between the attack minded Darren O'Brian, and the impressive Jenna Koemann. Sporting Cenial's Gareth Souter is also in the squad, and the 20-year-old will be looking to add to his four caps so far.

The Challenge for Jane Gullie will be finding that correct balance between the young players coming through, and some of the seasoned veterans. No one can deny just how good the likes of Souter and Ross are, both players demonstraiting that when they helped grab third place at the Di Bradini Cup. However with a combined age of forty-one, it would take a brave woman to throw two kids in at centre-half.

Gullie's midfield headache.
A good headache to be fair, but a headache nonetheless. With eight players, all of whom capable of staking a claim for the same in demand midfield slots, there has been huge disagreement in the press as to who should get the nod. While it seems petty to complain about depth in the midfield, Gullie would no doubt swap some of them for a rock solid centre-back, or a thirty-goal a season striker in one of the world's top leagues. Gaston Avelione, of course will be a certainty to start, as will be (one would imagine) Fadrön Flight's Jon Fotan. However, other than that it is a very difficult choice, with the rest of the players kind of on a par. Avelione's pace and power, cutting in off the left flank has been key to Schottia's successes in recent years, as has his goal tally. Fotan on the other hand, is a very solid, deep-sitting playmaker, who anchors the midfield while looking to play the killer pass. Both these players were missing for Schottia en route to the Tyran Cup final, and it showed in their disappointing 3-2 defeat to Gylias.
The exploits of Chloe Rudden, both during the Tyran Cup and with her club North Laithland, under most circumstances would more than merit a place in the starting eleven. However with Avelione in front of her, the role of the lightning-winger may be that of an impact sub.

For the job of partnering Fotan in the midfield, it is probably a coin toss between Chatwood's Gary Corsie and Handon United's Alfred Seggerson. Corsie has occupied the central midfield role for four cycles now, however since switching allegiances and joining the Schottia set up, Kloith born Seggerson is breathing down his neck. For a more defensive option Gullie might want to look at DBC winner Thio Crillin, now playing with Myrmidon in the Cenian league. The former Hollin player has long been tipped as starter in the national team, and he is rock solid in defence. There is also the wildcard of Holly Addison, who arrived in Schottia as a refugee fleeing the war in Arcadia. Addison is a top-class midfielder, however lack of competitive game time may limit her chances during this cycle.

In the attacking midfielder position, Gullie has options too. Having just completed a $12,000,000 move to Kingsgrove in the A-League, DBC-winning captain Eion Killanen will be favourite to start. The 22-year-old is a very important source of goals to the side, and his versatility in attack means he is a good player to have on the pitch. Another possibility would be to play Avelione in this position, as a way of trying to incorporate him and Rudden in the same line up. This is something Gullie will no doubt want to test out, over the course of the qualifiers. There are also a couple of powerhouse midfielders banging on the door in the form of Till Ümann and Boris Hunt. Soessch midfielder Ümann already has caps to his name, however, a severe injury two years ago has left him trying to piece together his once promising career. This is the first time the former golden boy of the Schottic game has received a call up since he pulled out of Cup of Harmony 62. Hunt on the other hand is pushing the other players hard for starting spot, and has been capped at under-15, under-18, under-21, and senior level already.

With her brand of easy on the eye football, Crawford City's Kim Coultan will start in the right, however she has a tendency to drift in field. There is also the option that she could be directly switched with Killanen, if Gullie wanted to see her in a more central role. Should however, the manager decide to go with a more conventional winger, there is Port Sebastian's Dahamy born Joey Bia, and Craig O'Maramy, whom she will know from her time with the Warriors.

Where will the goals come form?
Up front, the big decision facing Gullie is who to start in the coveted loan striker role. FC Hill Valley's Mark Allen has been cemented in there for the last couple of cycles, but after a less than outstanding showing, as they failed to reach Valanora and The Equestrian States, will the new manager stick with him?

The usual back-ups are there to choose from of course, and both Bruno Schwartz and Paul Coine have international experience, as well as good scoring records at club level. The most interesting addition to the squad is perhaps Nik Kostidious, and after his switch from Hillstreet to Handon United, has already proven himself at the top level.

All four of these players are used to operating in a one-up-front system, with the exception of Coine who is more of a second-striker. Despite their obvious talent, there is some suspicion that this is the team's weakest position, and some of the fans will be hoping Gullie is able to unearth the right kind of player soon.

Home - Reverse - Away

Image
For the first time in five cycles, Schottia go with a strip designed by a Schottic designer, reverting back to the nationalised SchottSport sportswear manufactures. The move has come after recent regulations governing marketing and advertising within the nation's legislation, have forced the team to use unbranded kits.

Squad
The starting line up displayed here is probably the most likely eleven to play, however, if you are PRing feel free to read the player descriptions and make a few changes. Also you can check my more recent posts in the RP tread to get some more up to date information.

1. GK Lucas D'Araby, 33 | Image Handon United | Height:190cm Weight:84kg (c)
One of Schottia's problems in past tournaments has been defensive lapses, however, none of this could be blamed on team captain D'Araby. Since joining Handon United as a youngster, he has become one of the country's most decorated players. Big, Strong, and dependable between the sticks, he is one of the players in this side who is a certainty to start. There is no one on the team for whom qualification would mean more to than the experienced keeper.

2. RB Larry Watt, 23 | Image 1860 Azoth, | Height: 180cm. Weight: 75kg
Now firmly established as Schottia's first choice right back, Watt has won great reviews while playing for his country. The former Di Bradini Cup winner started his career at Marionville, where the first team experience he gained helped him win a move to Buyanese side Blau-Weiss Pallstadt. After fighting his way into the first team there, Watt was recently snapped up by Cenian side 1860 Azoth for a sum of $9 million. Larry Watt is a tall powerful runner, who has a strong emphasis on defence. His reluctance to get forward and support the attack has been criticised on occasion, however he is a solid player, who rarely makes mistakes.

3. LB Darren O'Brian, 25 | Image King's Park | Height:178cm Weight:71kg
Following a fantastic season, where his club Kings Park finished second in the league O'Brian will be keen to prove that the form he showed there was no flash in the pan. He has been in the senior set-up in Schottia for five years now, and despite being a left winger, he has made the left-back position his own. There have been a few well documented cases, where he has slipped up defensively, however he makes up for it with his attacking skill. His pace and ability to support the forward players, is crucial to how Schottia play.

4. CB Darren Hanlon, 24 | Image FC Matovallanen | Height:188cm Weight:84kg
Hanlon is another player who has been on the move recently, joining up with Semarland side FC Matovallanen. The player who started his career with Kings Park, captained Schottia in the Olympics and has represented his country at all levels. Hanlon is a very professional player, who has a great technical ability, and top class positioning. Still young for a centre-back, there is a lot of excitement around this player, with regards to the future of the national team.

5. CB Chris Okywä, 29 | Image Soessch | Height:183cm Weight:84kg
Fast becoming one of the elder statesmen of a squad increasingly swelling with young talent, Okywä was an important player for Barry Gorman. Second now only behind D'Araby in the starting line up in terms of caps, he brings valuable knowledge to the side. Although occasionally a bit of a bomb-scare at the back, Okywä's strength and athleticism are not to be messed with. He is often regarded as the joker of the team, and is very popular in the dressing room.

11. CM Jon Fotan, 25 | Image Fadron Flight | Height:177cm Weight: 80kg
Now established in the Taeshani League with Fadrön Flight, the 25-year-old is one of the higher profile players in the squad. His form with New Belfast Warriors won him much praise in the media, as well as a vast amount of caps for his country at a young age. After gaining most of his caps playing on the left, he is now back in his preferred position of central-midfield, where he runs the show in this side. Fotan is a great passer of the ball, and is trusted with set-piece responsibilities. He also has an incredible shot on him, matched only in the side by Gaston Avelione.

8. CM Alfred Seggerson, 26 | Image Handon United | Height:181cm Weight:79kg
Seggerson joined current club Handon United aged sixteen from Kloithian club Amothsborg Fishermen for a fee of £250,000. Since then he has grown into one of their most important first team players, making his debut two years later. His nation of birth, Kloith, has since undergone a brutal revolution and his passport was declared not valid. Seggerson has now been granted Schottic citizenship winning his first cap in a friendly in Flardania. Seggerson is a quick and agile midfielder, with over 250 appearances in the Schottic Premier League. He is a solid playmaker who can chip in a few goals from the midfield.

6. A/CM FC Kim Coultan, 21 | Image Crawford City | Height:160cm Weight:52kg
From the fringes of a side in the second tier of Schottic football to one of the stars of a team, which finished third in the Buyanese Top League. Coultan's journey over the last two years of her life has been a rags to riches story. The 21-year-old DBC winner became the first woman to play for the senior team when she was capped in the Cup of Harmony two years ago, and has since gone on to establish herself in the first team. Small in stature even in terms of the other female players, Coultan relies on speed and agility to out-fox the opposition. Good on either foot, she is best known for her crisp, one touch passing and her goal scoring abilities. She as just completed a $14 million move to Cosumarite club Crawford City, making her the second most expensive Schottic player ever in terms of transfer fees.

10. AML Gaston Avelione, 30 | Image Handon United | Height:195cm Weight: 84kg
Avelione is the player everyone in the squad looks for to produce something special when required. His goals and assists have been a major factor in Schottia's rise up the world ranking in the last few cycles. It's no secret how highly former manager Barry Gorman rated the Handon United man, putting his faith in him time and time again. Now the wrong side of thirty, only time will tell how long he is able to keep his place ahead of the likes of Rudden. That said, there are few who can match the North Islander in footballing ability, and he certainly has defenders running scared.

23. AMRLC Eoin Killanen, 22 | Image Kingsgrove | Height:176cm Weight:70kg
Now really coming of age, Schottia's DBC winning captain is one of the out and out stars of this Tyran Cup squad. The FC Zurich man was outstanding as his side lifted the title in Starblaydia, and has since replicated that form for the national team. The former Lammerton wonderkid has in the past been accused of being to selfish, however, this is something he has worked had to rectify. Killanen is similar to Coultan, in that he can play anywhere in the midfield. Although, he is perhaps more comfortable just behind the striker, where he can get more opportunities on goal. During the transfer window Killanen made the switch to Brenecian side Kingsgrove, where he will be hoping to make a quick impact.

9. FC Mark Allen, 26 | Image FC Hill Valley | Height:191cm Weight: 81kg
It has been a hard battle for the Hill Valley man to establish himself as the number one choice in the coveted loan-striker role. The former Port Sebastian man was the Schottic League's top scorer before he departed for the Adiran club. If he is sometimes accused of being lazy and reluctant to chase back, he makes up for it with his strike capability, and vision in front of goal. He has been the preferred man up-front for three seasons now, but with a new manager coming in, this could all be subject to change.

Substitutes

12. GK Chris Gonzaö, 25 | Image Port Sebastian | Height:202cm Weight:85kg
The Port Sebastian 24-year-old has been forced to bide his time, in a long stint as understudy to D'Araby. Despite performing will in the occasional friendly match, it has been impossible of him to force his way into the first team reckonings. More that capable when called upon, there is little doubt that he will be a suitable longterm replacement when the time comes. In the meantime at least he gets a good view of the matches from the bench.

28. CB/RB. James Blantery, 31 | Image New Belfast Warriors Height:188cm Weight:81kg
One of Jane Gullie's new call-ups, and back in the squad for the first time since World Cup 68. Blantery is an experienced defender who has served her well during her time at the Warriors. There is no doubt that he can come in a do a shift in the Schottia defence, however he is up against a lot of very talented youngsters in terms of competition. Blantery is fast across the pitch, and not afraid to launch into a tackle or two.

13. CB. Gareth Souter, 20 | Image Sporting Cenial | Height: 189cm. Weight: 79kg
Since making his debut for Handon United aged 18, there has been a feeling that Souter could be a special player. After leaving the club to join up with Cenian side Sporting Cenial, he impressed former manager Barry Gorman with a string of good performances. He helped his club to fourth in the league last season, and was named fourth best defender in the league in the process. Souter is a strong player, who takes the game very seriously. Souter has a good footballing ability and is comfortable on the ball, meaning he can play in midfield if called upon.

14. CB/RB. Scott Burton, 23 | Image Cornellians Height:179cm Weight:70kg
Cornellians back playing football at a completive level is good for their fans, but it's also good news for Schottia. Former Lammerton City defender, now in fourth season with the club, is in for his first call up, and will be fighting with former DBC teammate Gareth Souter for a place. Burton is shorter and slighter built than most of the centre-backs in the current squad, but than never stands in his way.

15. CB/DM. Ben Ross, 21 Image Stvozhaboythuow | Height:188cm Weight:81kg
Ross has long been touted as one of the best young players to come of the Schottic Youth Academy System. Having captained his country at under-15 and 21 level, he is a composed and highly professional leader on the pitch. The Stvozhaboythuow defender is a good al round defender, who gives 100% percent whether he is played at centre-half, right-back, or central midfield. Now playing in one of the world's top leagues, Ross will be hoping to make the step up to the first team soon.

16. R/LB Jenna Koemann, 25 | Image Ludogorets Markovsky Ladies, | Height: 170cm. Weight: 68kg
Koemann became the third female player to win a cap for Schottia in the last set of qualifiers. The 25-year-old, who plays in the Fleftic League is no stranger to international set-up. She featured for the Schottic Woman's side, which reached the quarter finals of the last Olympic games, and has been called up to the DBC squad. Koemann left MPL side Cornellians to join Ludogorets Markovsky three seasons ago, in a bid to get regular first team football.

17. RM Craig O'Maramy, 23 | Image New Belfast Warriors | Height:177cm Weight: 62kg
O'Maramy is easily one of the best wide men in the Schottic league right now. A stand out player during his side's march to lifting Di Bradini Cup, he has also made seven sub appearances for the senior team scoring two goals in the process. Even at 22, he is already a key player for his club New Belfast Warriors, who currently sit top of the SPL. O'Maramy is blessed with huge amounts of pace, skill and stamina. He is a good crosser of the ball, but also likes to cut in and shoot, as his goal tally at club level would suggest.

18. AMR Jonathan Bia, 19 | Image Port Sebastian | Height:170cm Weight:72kg
As a Schottic footballer, when your manager calls you the next Gaston Avelione, you know you're doing something right. The Dahamy born winger only received international clearance to play three years ago. Since then Joey (as he likes to be called) has put in some top class performances, in both the World Cup and Cup of Harmony. Bia worked was part of Barry Gorman's SPL winning side, when they were both at Port Sebastian, and the teenager has that direct attacking style of play which Gullie can try as use to good effect. Bia is a player who normally gets amongst the goals, and often attempts audacious shots.

19. DM/LM Holly Addison, 22 | Image Unattached | Height:174cm Weight:66kg
Addison arrived in Schottia with her boyfriend and young family a year ago fallowing Shalumite aggression in Arcadia. Although Schottic law has prevented her from playing a competitive match yet, she has been training with the national academy squad, and is match fit for the qualifiers. Called up to the Schottia squad for the first time, Addison will hopefully provide and injection of pace, and some girt in the middle of the park. Eligible to play for four nations back in Tyran, both Barry Gorman and caretaker manager Grant Nean have previously get her into the national set-up.

19. CM Mark Kelman, 26 | Image Cornellians | Height:181cm Weight:76kg
Kelman is a key figure in the Cornellians Championship winning side, and the dynamic central midfielder has featured heavily for Schottia in past tournaments. The Former Port James player got the nod over a few of the up and coming youngster, as the success of the U-21s side has added competition for places. Kelman has been on solid form over the last couple of seasons, and he combines passing ability with a good footballing head, making him great option coming off the bench.

20. CM Thio Crillin, 24 | Image Myrmidon | Height: 188cm. Weight: 88kg
No one really expected the former Hollin midfielder to feature much in the World Cup 72 qualifiers, however Crilin went on to make a valuable contribution. Another DBC winner, he has won accolades for his performances with Cenian side Myrmidon, helping them to a Globe Cup spot. Thio Crillin is a big powerful, broad shouldered player, who can hold his own with almost anyone in the midfield.

21. CM Gary Corsie, 24 | Image Chatswood | Height:190cm Weight:80kg
On a good day Corsie is a box-to-box midfielder who combines stamina and graft, with subtlety, composure, and a keen eye for goal. On a bad day he is disinterested, lazy and a bomb scare in possession. Which Gary Corsie it is that turns up can be anyone’s guess. This inconsistency has meant periods out of the starting line-up for the big midfielder, however, for those mangers able to get the best out of him, he has been a powerful asset. Corsie recently completed an eight million move to Chatswood in Nephara after impressing during a loan period at his home town club of Marionville.

22. CM Till Ümann, 21 | Image Soessch | Height: 188cm. Weight: 83kg
In so many ways, the forgotten man of Schottic football. At one point Ümann was one of the hottest properties in the game, but a series of injuries and the resultant slump in form have seen him fade from the public gaze. After making his debut for the national team at the Runner Cup II, he went on to earn 17 caps scoring 4 goals in the process. Now Ümann is on the comeback trail, and in his first call-up since CoH 62, he will have a point to prove.

7. LM/F Chloe Rudden, 20 | Image North Laithland | Height:172cm Weight:60kg
The jet-healed winger is one of the nation’s top prospects, and no doubt has a big future in the senior team. The 20-year-old has played most of her career in the Women's Super-League, where she had a near 1 to 1 goal to game ratio in her last season with Handon Eagles. Rudden's recent move to North Laithland has been a big step in her career, but one that she has taken in her stride. As well as helping her side to fourth in the league, she picked up the young player of a year gong in the process. This, coupled with some fantastic performances for the U-21s, during the Cup of Harmony, and Tyran Cup has seen the youngster thrown into the first team.

24. ACM Boris Hunt, 19 | Image Laketown Rangers | Height:193cm Weight:82kg
One of the rising stars of the Schottic game, even at nineteen Hunt already has the pace and power to match anyone in this current Schottic squad. Hunt is one of the big success stories in terms of youth development on the islands. Coming through the regional development programme at a young age, Hunt has scored goals at U-15, U-18, and U-21 level. He eventually got his big move to Laketown Rangers in Taeshan, where he has worked had to make an impact. One thing for certain, Boris Hunt will be a name, which the fans will be seeing on a Schottia strip for many years to come.

25. FC Nik Konstidios, 23 | Image Handon United | Height: 182cm. Weight: 75kg
One of a couple of naturalised players in the Schottia set up, Konstidios was born in the Azurlavian Island of Aerick. After his switch in nationality aged 21, he has made a big name for himself in the national set-up, and made several appearances en route to Schottia's DBC victory. Since his move to Handon United, he has had more chance to impress, and has already become a fan's favourite with Schottia's biggest club.

26. FC Paul Coine, 28 | Image Port Sebastian | Height:183cm Weight:81kg
Paul Coine is one of the SPL's top strikers, and was instrumental in Port Sebastian's title win, three years ago. Despite his performances for his club, his international career has largely been confined to the bench. That said, he has often come on and made an impact, and has scored in the last three World Cup cycles. A fast and cut-throat attacker, Coine can play upfront or just behind the striker.

27. FC Bruno Schwartz, 28 | Image Soessch | Height:191cm Weight:85kg
Bruno Schwartz is an old fashioned no. 9; no nonsense, hardworking, and great in the 18-yard-box. He shares loan striker duties with Mark Allen, so expect him to make a fair few sub appearances, and even start some games. He has been a consistent performer over the last few cycles for Schottia. He is interestingly the opposite of Allen, in that he is often criticised for his lack of goals, and his tendency to be too unselfish.

Harbour Hill Stadium
Location: Handon, South Schottia
Capacity: 55,000. Including some safe standing sections.

Schottia is a small, peaceful nation, best know for its progressive social policy and whisky distilleries. The country is located in the region of Tyran off the west coast of the Northern continent, and has a diverse population of 6.6 million. Schottia has a temperate maritime climate, with warm wet summers and mild winters. The nation gained its independence in 1866 and has been self governing ever since.

Handon is the capital of Schottia and home to around 1.1 million people. The predominant language spoken around the city is English or Scots, but most of the population are also fluent in German and French. The city itself is located on the ester most tip of South Schottia, the largest of the five islands which make up the Free Colony. Harbour Hill is situated in the centre of the city near the quayside area, and is easily accessible by bus or tram; the latter being the most common way to get around the city.

The architecture of Handon is largely mixed, with some buildings dating back to the 17th century, contrasted with more modern 20th and 21st century structures. Harbour Hill was recently revamped adding a closing roof and safe standing features. The stadium, in some form or another, has been the site of Schottic home games since 1903 and has witnessed some of the great matches in the region's history.

Handon has a huge range of hotels and apartments for anyone staying in the city, however locations near the stadium tend to fill up quickly around match days. There is also plenty to do in the evenings after the games, with Schottia's legendary pub-culture always a draw, not to mention a list of top restaurants serving food from all over the region.

National information.

Located within the West Pacific, Port Christopher is an unincorporated state of the Free Colony of Schottia. The nation is home to just over 1,000,000 people, the vast majority living in the City of Port Christopher. The small country is home to a diverse population of various ethnicities and backgrounds. Port Christopher has an extremely high population density especially around the coastal areas.

The colony was established as a trading post in 1879, when the then, United States of New Scotland, were looking for a way into the West Pacific market. The wealthy polyarchy of merchants swamped to Port Christopher in a bid to take advantage of this situation.

At the time the USNS government came under heavy criticism for their treatment of the native population. Many of whom it is believed had their homes destroyed and were either sold into slavery or died from disease and hunger as their fields were dug up for cash crops. General Lewis Home-Christopher, whom the colony is named after, is still a controversial figure in Schottia today for the methods he used in securing the area.

The Port Christopher merchants quickly became some of the richest in what were the beginnings of a New Scottish Empire, taking over from where the previous administrations had left off. The new colony flourished along with the USNS at this time and was another hub to new enlightenment and developments in science, education, literature and philosophy. The City of Port Christopher became the Empire's second city and one of the richest Tyranan ports.

Squad information.

Port Christopher's debut cycle will have to go down as a resounding success. The tiny state finished third in the Baptism of Fire, and reached the quarterfinals of the Runner Cup. They have pushed on again this year, fuelled by the continued improvements within their own small domestic league, and the quality of their young players coming through.

Jimmy Mitchel's side don't have the deepest pool of players, as one might expect, being a colony of just slightly more than one million people. However, should they manage to get through the qualifiers injury free, they should do well enough by their standards. Elisa Rivera, who as since gone on to join Marinos Thimpodopoulos Ladies was a key player for them in for her country in the Runner Cup, and is expected to sine once more with her vision and creativity. The Sea lions are also strong in attack, with highly rated Tony Uist and the experienced Franz Müller leading the line. On the bench they can also look to league winner Ross Jameson, and highly rated youngster Jacques to make an impact.

It is probably most likely Runner Cup yet again for the little side from the West Pacific, or Cup of Harmony if they are able to get their act together. While qualification is not utterly impossible, there won't be many within the team thinking that it is a realistic possibility. A strong fourth place finish, taking a few scalps along they way, would be considered a good showing.

---The Squad---

GK: Carus Laxium, 28 Paddon FC Image Height: 192cm Weight: 87kg
Laxium is strong and reliable keeper with many years of experience in Christopheran League. Not a native of the state, however after nine years living in the country, he qualifies for this inaugural Port Christopher side.

CB: Xavier Paulos, 33 Willox Street Pirates Image Height: 183cm Weight: 79kg
A wise, experienced head, at the heart of the defence. Paulos is a tried and tested defender, and has won multiple league titles with his club the Pirates.

CB: James Del Vertio, 32 Sarrburgh Town Image Height: 180cm Weight: 75kg
James Del Vertio is widely regarded as the best defender in the Christopheran league. He is a composed individual, and distributes the ball well.

CB: Robert Wessel, 27 New Dundee Star Image Height: 190cm Weight: 88kg
One of New Dundee Star's Wessel twins, he and his brother Moritz are a mainstay of their club. The sons of Schottic North Island migrants, they have lived and played in Port Christopher all their careers. Robert Wessel is a big goal threat coming forward for set-pieces.

CM: Diego Bandos, 27 Willox Street Pirates Image Height: 177cm Weight: 74kg C
Captain of the team, Bandos is a quick and dynamic player who combines silky passing with robust tackling. He has been branded as the poster boy for this squad, and will have to handle the weight of a nation's expectations on his shoulders.

CM: Elisa Rivera, 26 Marinos Thimpodopoulos Ladies Image Height: 167cm Weight: 63kg
Sarrburgh Town have never quite recovered from the loss of Rivera when she left to join Schottic side the Warriors. She will probably play in the most advanced role of the midfield-three, and is great with the ball at her feet, a short crisp passer of the ball.

CM: Miller Icacic, 25 Kelsy Merchants Image Height: 182cm Weight: 79kg
One of the more surprising names in the squad, but he has had a great season with his club the Kelsy Merchants. The central midfielder is a tall and athletic player, who is not afraid to shoot from distance.

LM: Tim Maitfield, 24 Celtic Noviodunum Image Height: 179cm Weight: 77kg
Maitfield is your typical right footed, left sided midfielder. He is most effective with his head down running at the defenders with pace. He scores regularly for his club, cutting in of the left and unleashing some ferocious strikes.

RM: Moritz Wessel, 27 New Dundee Star Image Height: 190cm Weight: 80kg
The other half of the Wessel twins, Moritz is very different form his brother. Tall and lanky he lacks his Brother's power, but he is a potent player in his own right. Capable of playing anywhere across the midfield his best position is just behind the strikers.

CF: Franz Müller, 28 Willox Street Pirates Image Height: 185cm Weight: 77kg
A cultured striker who has been at the sharp end of football in Port Christopher for a decade, since joining from Schottic side FC Soessch. He is a player who combines traditional number 9 qualities with a broader skill-set.

CF: Tony Uist, 23 Marinos Thimpodopoulos ImageHeight: 179cm Weight: 76kg
The league's top goal-scorer, who simply could not be ignored in this first squad selection. Uist is a third generation Christopheran, a local lad and immensely popular in his country. Blue Coast are already having problems warding off interest in the player, this tournament is likely to make that even harder.

---subs---

GK: Donald Gordon, 27 New Saint Johns Image Height: 185cm Weight: 80kg
Many might count him unlucky not to be in the starting line up, Donald Gordon is an agile and fast keeper.

RB/M: Anderiz, 22 New Saint Johns Image Height: 169cm Weight: 67kg
The Saints defender is the only wingback in a side, which plays a 3-5-2. Anderiz has won a huge list of admirers with his performances for his club.

CB: Lara Dixon 26, Willox Street Pirates Image Height: 179cm Weight: 70kg
A regular first team player for the Pirates, Dixon may have to settle for a place on the bench in this tournament. She is a little different form the other defenders, and offers a bit more pace.

CB: Baxter James 31, Hollin Image Height: 196cm Weight: 89kg
A giant defender, James is one of only two members of the squad who play outside of the Super-League.

RM: Jose Almedro 26, New Saint Johns Height: 190cm Weight: 80kg
Tall, powerful and lightning quick, Almedro is someone who can be brought on to influence the game if things aren’t going to plan.

LM: Tom Popescu-Black 23, New Saint Johns Image Height: 183cm Weight: 76kg
A teammate of Almedro, Popescu-Black is one of the most highly rated midfielders in the league. He qualifies to play for Port Christopher through his maternal grandmother.

DM: Jack Cordoba 31, Christopherian Porty Image Height: 180cm Weight: 75kg
The Porty captain has had a great season at the Super-League minnows, so much so, that he is beleived to be on his way out. A very reliable defencive midfielder, his style might not be the pretteist, but is is very effective.

CM: Hector Berg 25, Sarrburgh Town Image Height: 189cm Weight: 81kg
Some will have been surprised to have seen him starting on the bench, however this is perhaps down to his club's lowly league position. A tall, powerful, holding midfielder, Berg is also capable of some more subtle play.

CM: Dietmar Koenig 27, New Dundee Star Image Height: 180cm Weight: 76kg
Like Berg, the Stars captain will perhaps be disappointed to have to settle for a spot on the bench. Everyone will be expecting to see him feature heavily though, as his skill and passing ability are legendary at his club.

CM: Len Oban 27, Sarrburgh Town Image Height: 177cm Weight: 71kg
Since making the switch from Tralend to Sarrburgh, the midfielder has proven himself at a higher level, and is very much deserved of this call up. He is a great passer of the ball and always among the goals, over the course of the qualifiers he will surely be called upon.

ACM: Aredhel Neil 23, Blue Coast 1981 Image Height: 164cm Weight: 87kg
A complete midfielder, Neil is one of the more exciting prospects in this Port Christopher squad. She impressed fans by turning down an offer to play for the Schottia U-21 ones just before DBC 32, opting to stick it out when rumours of a Christopheran national team were in the air. Her and Blue Coast teammate Tony Uist, are two of the most exciting players in this squad.

CF: Jacques 19, Christopheran Porty Image Height: 179cm Weight: 68kg
Despite being capped for Schottia at U-21 level sixteen years ago, no one has been more instrumental in setting up the Port Christopher national team than Big Jim Reid. A powerful, no nonsense striker, he has been given the honorary title of squad captain.

CF: Ross Jameson 24, New Dundee Star Image Height: 178cm Weight: 75kg
Jameson is heading of to join New Dundee at the end of the tournament. The 23-year-old got everyone talking with his goals for Kirston Eagles, helping the semi-pro side to a respectable league finish.

CF: Jack Kent 26, Willox Street Pirates Image Height: 193cm Weight: 78kg
Normally the strike partner of Pirates teammate Franz Müller, Kent is expected to make a massive impact in the team. His height is a huge threat from freekicks and corners.

Manager
Vanauraiiel Nardironel (F)
Age: 1302
Nardironel is a small and quirky woman who is very unassuming, until you get to the training pitch, where she will run you ragged and then when you feel your body collapsing, run you even more ragged until you are in the ultimate peak condition you can be. The only person on the brain trust to survive the overhaul from last World Cup's dismal showing. She was initially given only a two year contract, but after leading the Marauders to a surprise win in the AOCAF, she has been given two full cycles to try and right the team in the World Cup. While the first cycle went horribly awry, the VSC decided to let her continue out the entirety of her contract when they got the hosting rights for World Cup 72, hoping that the woman can give a good account of the team on the home grounds. After making the Quarterfinals, Nardironel was given a two year extension, a chance to show that the first cycle in charge was an aberration and the second cycle is more indicative of the results she can provide.

Assistant Manager
Vamariiel Falavir (F)
Age: 1482
Ibini's assistant finds herself in the same spot on the national team program after the VFA decided to do a complete overhaul of the Vanorian national team program following three straight tournaments of not making the knockout rounds of the World Cup. She is a very easy going personality, a complete reverse to the traditional personalities that take the assistant spot as the team looks to scramble back to their usual standards with new approaches.

Keeper

1 Aediron Galadirdren, Ibini FC
Age - 681
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 174 lbs
Galadirdren looks to be the long term solution for the Marauders in net after several stellar seasons in the domestic scene with Ibini FC. While not loud and "in control" of his box, the keeper is very good when the opposition has a breakaway, as well as some amazing reflexes. His best attribute though is his near perfect position, always seeming to know where the opposition is going to place their shots or crosses.

Defenders

2 Morlaithan Aldamiel, AC Izotz Zubia Image
Age - 694
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 162 lbs
A tough and quiet sort at the back, more physical than your usual Vanorian centerback thanks to the years that he has played in Audioslavia. More of a stay at home defender than the rest of the backline and more prone the occasional card due to the more physical nature.

3 Rainyardil Toraandal, Mar Sara FC
Age - 653
Sex - M
Height: 6'3"
Weight: 168 lbs
Toraandal is deceptively fast and agile for a person of his size and also very keen to get in on the attack during prolonged spells in the opponents third. With his size and pure athletic ability, he has a knack for getting open in the box and heading home his fair share of goals, though it is his stern defending that is the reason that he was put on to the starting eleven.

4 Revhil Lardireil, Hondo FC
Age - 652
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 171 lbs
Like Toraandal, Lardireil is used to getting into the attack, having spent the majority of his career at Hondo with their attacking flavor. However he has the speed of a cheetah and the strength of an elephant, most likely the most versatile of the three defenders that the side uses.

Midfield

21 Espy va Drake, Yuba United (Paripana)
Age: 757
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 159 lbs
After becoming a folklore hero for the lower class of the world, va Drake has made himself one of the living legends of the game after help leading the side to a title in World Cup 53. He has traveled far and wide while plying his trade, donning kits for no less than five countries clubs. Seen as the driving force in the middle of the park alongside Hawk, it is up to the opposition to try and figure out how to deal with the brilliance the winger and his other attackers have rather than them to create magic.

6 Caeltimyonan Haerear, Mar Sara FC
Age - 612
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 163 lbs
Coming from Mar Sara you would expect Haerear to be more of an attacking option, yet the midfielder is more of a box to box playmaker than the attacking midfielders usually coming from the Flames. Not overly fast or physical but Haerear has a motor that never quits, never giving up on a play or a game despite how dire the situation may be.

14 Laborious Hawk, Dwile Warriors Image
Age - 721
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even begin to define his talent, his talent defines words. He was awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, with it being very well deserved, as he has and continues to earn everything he has been given every single day. Hawk simply strives to be the very best footballer, captain, and teammate that there can be, with the hunger for perfection driving him forth on and off the pitch.

8 Ilglerdiriel Lithvathar, Raynor City United
Age - 727
Sex - F
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 149 lbs
Lithvathar is much like va Drake, a floater who is dynamic in attack but with enough speed and sense of the pitch to make up on any sort of defensive lapse. Yet unlike her flankmate, she is not nearly as skilled, but do not let that fool you, in a moment of magic she can undress an entire backline and set up more prolific scorers with easy chances.

7 Faeron Soldarian, Raynor City United
Age - 635
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 163 lbs
Soldarian continues to live in the shadow of more well known players both on the national team and with his club. Despite this, Soldarian is seen by all on the squad as the emotional leader and the linchpin the in the middle that allows the more attacking minded midfielders being allowed to play their game.

Strikers

9 Allandren Fresco, Ibini FC
Age - 510
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 167 lbs
Fresco continues to lead the line of the attack, being the tip of the spear that is the Marauders offensive movement. By now most teams know of the striker's pace and near laser guided shot, however the striker still somehow finds ways to bring in the goals. With the more durable Celetholtinu to play off of, he has become an almost impossible force to stop when the duo are on form.

11 Dûrdur Celetholtinu, Telecontarë Image
Age - 904
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 183 lbs
Dûrdur is by and large a holding forward, meant to retain possession for Fresco, Hawk, or va Drake to into possession for attacks. His large frame suits his style of play and the years in Liga Calania has made him quite equipped at taking kicks and chips while maintaining possession.

Please assume YES for all answers in the Permission Box – just don’t kill anyone, K?
Ages are at World Cup LXXIII finals. Subtract two years for the first half of qualifying, one year for the second half.

Image
KRYTENIA 2226 WORLD CUP SQUAD
Modifier: +5 (+max if max is lower)

THE MANAGEMENT TEAM

Manager – Rameses NIBLICK III, Age ?? (seriously, we have no idea, and it's likely best not to ask)
Rami's an old face, with a new job. Journalist turned gaffer turned legend, Niblick has led the Aces to a World Cup second round place and an AOCAF semi-final since taking charge of the team at the start of World Cup LXXII qualifying.

Assistant Manager – Dario NAVAS, Age 39
Goalkeeping Coach – Michael VERDETTI, Age 47
Defensive Coach – Steven PRIMROSE, Age 42
Offensive Coach – Mark YAKIMOV, Age 45
Physiotherapist – Jessica NELSON, Age 41

THE SQUAD

Image
David HEATON
Age: 31
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Wexax United (VAL)

Emerged as a world-class shot stopper. Wexax clearly liked what they saw.

Image
Sam BARCALI
Age: 29
Position: Right-back
Club: Avidia United

Pacy fullback with a decent cross, Barcali is no relation to the famed goalkeeper of yore. He is, however, an exciting attacking option for the national team.

Image
Michel DEMETRIUS
CAPTAIN
Age: 29
Position: Left-back
Club: Casuals Osteria

Captain for club and country, Demetrius has a fire in his belly and a hunger to make his team succeed. (It's working better for Krytenia than Casuals.) Strong tackler, tends to hang back unlike the more cavalier Barcali.

Image
Joel SCOTT
Age: 31
Position: Centre-back
Club: Mercia Bromham

Versatile centre-back who can also play as a midfield anchor. At six foot three, expect him to be a threat from set-pieces too, even if the pace is not as good as it was four years ago.

Image
Alfie XOUSA
Age: 22
Position: Centre-back
Club: Avidia United

Combining intelligence with pace, Xousa has usurped Vinny Frenz for both the Eagles and the national team. Commanded the defence well at the recent Di Bradini Cup.

Image
Samuel ALINAS
VICE-CAPTAIN
Age: 29
Position: Central midfield
Club: Avidia United

Simple, honest, hard-tackling central midfielder, with excellent distribution. A real fulcrum for the side to work from.

Image
VALRAUNCION
Age: Elf
Position: Forward
Club: Telecontarë (STB)

Ah, the infamous elf. Valrauncion is, at least for now, the only Krytenian international who can lay claim to a World Cup winners' medal. He made a home for himself in Ousevale over the years, and when Starblaydia withdrew from international football at the end of World Cup 57, the KFA made a cheeky request to naturalise the striker and offer him a place in the cyan. To their astonishment, he accepted. Now back where it all began for his club, the Cyan Army still knows that he may be a cock, but he's OUR cock.

Image
Marco ANGELO
Age: 24
Position: Right midfield
Club: Emberton Reds

Maturing like a fine Chablis, Angelo has bags of pace, and crosses well - and he's used to the skills of former teammate Ronnie van Rijn, too.

Image
Ronnie VAN RIJN
Age: 34
Position: Forward
Club: Avenida Victoria (FFD)

If Valrauncion is the legend, van Rijn is the cult hero. His name is almost literally synonymous with Avenida Victoria, the Farfadillis based club where he plies his trade; his ability to match the elf in the sky blue, meanwhile, has endeared him to the fans on these shores.

Image
Armando ORTEGA
Age: 18
Position: Attacking midfield/forward
Club: Avidia United

Where to begin? Plays like the ball is glued to his feat, is completely fearless against defences...and he's still in his teens. World Cup LXXIII may be a little soon to see the full extent of his talents, but that's only because he's still learning.

Image
Liam LARSSON
Age: 28
Position: Left midfield
Club: Casuals Osteria

Casuals' winger brings his skills to the national team. Look for him to cut inside defenders when the flow of play allows.

Image
Fernando REYES
Age: 30
Position: Central/attacking midfield
Club: Avidia United

Pop-star looks and Mediterranean tan aside, Reyes is an excellent player of the ball. Expect him to come off the bench to inject some attacking flair.

Image
Martin DAVIS
Age: 28
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Ousevale Borough

Athletic and wiry, it is perhaps only Davis' tendency to fist or flap at crosses that precludes him from being in the Aces starting line-up.

Image
James HUTTER
Age: 35
Position: Right midfield
Club: Avidia United

Not the fastest of players, but another with intelligence and accuracy. Pretty good from the dead-ball, too, though age may now be getting the better of him.

Image
Lee HODGE
Age: 30
Position: Right-back
Club: Mercia Bromham

Not the greatest first touch in the world, but an expert at closing down and tackling wingers.

Image
Craig GRASMERE
Age: 27
Position: Central midfield
Club: Real Atlantea

A midfield rock, tends to play best just in front of the back four. Excellent distribution with the short pass and tenacious in the tackle.

Image
Will OSS
Age: 27
Position: Forward
Club: Avidia United

Possibly the shortest name ever for a Krytenian international, Oss is a clinical finisher. His set-up play isn't the greatest though.

Image
Alexander SAMPSON
Age: 20
Position: Forward
Club: Ousevale Borough

Has the unenviable task (alongside Apoxian Adnan Zozula) of replacing Valrauncion at the Southern Arena. We expect he'll do rather well, if his performances in the Di Bradini Cup are anything to go by.

Image
Mark ELLISHAM
Age: 27
Position: Centre-back
Club: Casuals Osteria

The rock of the Miners' defence, Ellisham is best with the ball at his feet. He's an expert at the calm thirty-yard clearance to an onrushing winger.

Image
Jason DAVIS
Age: 25
Position: Centre-back
Club: Mercia Bromham

No relation to the Ousevale 'keeper. Tall and rangy, good at dealing with the aerial stuff.

Image
Adrian ANUZZI
Age: 22
Position: Left midfield
Club: Emberton Reds

Still yet to completely fulfil his tag as the "new Kiefer Lloyd". Captaining the Under-21s added some strings to his bow though.

Image
Jason LEUTER
Age: 26
Position: Goalkeeper
Club: Casuals Osteria

Casuals do like to produce young goalkeeping talent; sadly Leuter is well back in the current international queue.

Image
Steven POCKETT
Age: 30
Position: Left-back
Club: Mercia Bromham

Great left foot, right one's for standing.

LIKELY STARTERS
Heaton
Barcali - Xousa – J. Davis – Demetrius
Angelo - Alinas - Larsson
Ortega
Valrauncion – van Rijn

Rhizome Arena: capacity 125,000|location Zorg, Copperwies
The largest of all association football stadiums in HopNation, Rhizome Arena is a spectacle to be seen. It is an extremely advanced stadium with self regulating weather blockers that open and close based on the current events attendance, sun glare, precipitation, and event type. It’s a two tier style stadium with each seat having a clear view of the field. It has an impressive array of video boards: two main screens, one on each end of the stadium located on the upper level; a continuous screen that separates the lower and upper levels; and other screens spread through the concourse, the main ones for this type being ideally located just outside of each section entrance. This stadium is home to the Phynix of Zorg FC (Zorg FC’s Senior Squad) as well as the official home of the Hops (HopNation’s Association Football National Team).

Timbermunich Soccer Squad
Hardwoods
Background
The Lumberjacks or Jacks, as they are often called, that make up the Hardwoods’ roster are a brawny bunch plucked from the limbs of Great TimberOaks which stand deep within the Great Timbermunich Forest. These Great TimberOaks are massive trees that make up the central portion of the Great Timbermunich Forest, the trees stand at nearly 424 meters tall with trunks that can reach upwards of 32 meters in diameter. It is said that these Lumberjacks once selected spend their entire life within the Great Timbermunich Forest. To be a Jack in Timbermunich is a great honor and they are now selected by The Great Battle Axe while still in utero. They are tasked with guarding the Great Timbermunich Forest from all harm (natural or otherwise) starting at their birth and continuing to their death, that is if they actually do die as no one has ever witnessed a Jacks death nor has a Jacks body ever been discovered void of life they seem to vanish from existence once they reach an estimated 250 years of forest protection. It is also said that each of the Great TimberOaks has a single Jack to watch along with the shared duty over the rest of the Great Timbermunich Forest. If true this would mean that there are approximately 450 thousand Jacks, there are also nearly 100000 trees (multiple genomes) per living Timbermunichers (everyday folks: 50 million) so there are a great number of trees to watch over. You may be asking what this has to do with a soccer team, well you see the Jacks get a small senescence in which they are able to leave the Great Timbermunich Forest and they choose to play sports during this abscission time. Much of the lore around the Jacks seems to indicate this is their final farewell before vanishing from the forest. It is unknown if a Jack gets more than one senescence or not, we have seen some Jacks on more than one cycles roster, but since the legends are not written down we don’t know if this is due to the length of ones senescence or if they have more than one. They do seem to stick with the more strength and power sporting events, which we attribute to their physical stature and strength. After all they spend their entire life wielding one or sometimes two Double Bit Great Felling Axe, an axe that no normal human can lift. This doesn’t mean we don’t see them in finesse sports; it’s just more common for them to choose physical sports more during their senescence.

Player Profiles
Goal Keepers
Great Hatchet Hank
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
- Position -
Goal Keeper
Hank attributes much of his success to the training he has gone through as a Great as well as his exceptional hand eye coordination. He also has excellent reflexes and is seen more as a reactive goalie and is somewhere between a Traditional and Acrobatic style keeper. Hank is good both on the ground and in the air as he has great diving speed and distance. The only draw back he has is on 1v1 situations, as he tends to stay on his line and not challenge or cut-off the incoming angle very well. He has been working with the coaching staff to improve that area, but is still somewhat of a struggle. Many of the players thought he would make a good captain because he is very vocal and is a great leader both on and off the field. However he was not selected for that task by the coaching staff and he fully accepts whatever role they want him to fulfill.

Great One-Eye Wallice
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
- Position -
Goal Keeper
Wallice as apposed to Wallace, pronounced like Wall-ICE, is the youngest son of Great One-Arm Willy and is considered second in line for the starting keeper position to Great Hatchet Hank. He is an all out acrobatic keeper and because of this his handling ability seems to elude him at times and he simply punches the ball away. That’s not to say he can’t or doesn’t catch the ball, but rather he is more apt to dive at anything coming his way even if it is directly at him. His goal coverage is great too; with his quick feet and excellent vision (even with only one eye) he is able to cut off angles before a chance is presented to the opposition. Sometimes he is a bit to ambitious and will come off his line becoming a sweeper keeper, which can get him into trouble.

Great Mortimer
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
- Position -
Goal Keeper
He is more traditional with great hands and field vision. But he tends to have poor positioning at times and can get caught out of place on occasion. His on field commanding voice can be heard by anyone, which is a great asset for him to have. He is a good leader and is liked by everyone on the team. But because of his bad positioning he is not on par with either Wallice or Hank.

Starting Defenders
Great Norman
– Club Team –
– Position –
Right Back
Great Norman is a very physical back who has excellent speed and is rarely beat in a foot race. He is good in the air but could use some improvement in that area as well. Norman has exceptional one on one skill and because of his speed is a great back that is hard to get past. He is very uncomfortable when pressured into the middle of the field and prefers to stay out wide to cover any possible crossing situation. Overall he is an acceptable back with some room to improve.

Great Battle
– Club Team –
Image Crew of Gypsum SC – Image HopNation
– Position –
Center Back
Great Battle is the core of the four backs and keeps them well organized. He is great in the air, has good 1v1 skill, and superb field awareness. His only real downfall as a center back is his speed, sure he is quick footed and skilled on the ball but his overall pace seems to struggle at times. Thankfully he has a couple other backs next to him that are extremely fast and if he does happen to get beat they are there to quickly step in and recover for him. With his communication and field awareness Great Battle gets his defensive unit in good positions to help limit the amount of opportunities that the opponents might have. He is also the best passer out of the four starting backs, because of this he is often a focal point to start the forward progress of their attack.

Great Felling Axe
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team– Position –
Center Back
Felling is a good back and compliments Great Battle in the center very well. He is not as good in the air as most center backs but makes up for it with his excellent positioning and field awareness. He is never found out of position and has the most blocks on the team because of it. The other aspect of his game that is really good is his communication, probably just a bit better than Great Battle’s. He along with Great Battle organizes the teams defensive efforts and keep everyone in check. If he were to improve his aerial ability and perhaps his passing just a bit he may even be a better center back than Great Battle is.

Great Tomahawk Tommy
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
– Position –
Left Back
Tommy is a nice left back but he tends to slide too much. He is also very fast, has good passing, and good 1v1 body positioning so with that combination of skills he is rather hard to beat. He does however have a little trouble staying where he is supposed to and the other backs are constantly yelling at him to get into position. His aerial play is also very good and is often the first player to touch the ball on corner kicks. He is not afraid to get in the way of a shot or pass and is often the leader when it comes to setting up walls on free kicks. He is very coachable and his teammates find his dry humor somewhat funny, so he is a good player to have around when the mood needs lightened.

Starting Midfielders
Great Dead-Eye Darrin
– Club Team –
Image Zorg FC Phynix – Image HopNation
– Position –
Right Midfielder
Darrin plays at the right mid position and is equal in his attacking and defending responsibilities. He is a great all around player with exceptional endurance and passing accuracy. He is often the player that can pick out and precisely pass the ball to an open teammate half way across the field and land the ball directly in the stride of that player. Because of this his coaches have him take all corner kicks no matter which side of the field they are on as well as any longer ranged free kick, the ones that aren’t within range for a direct shot. The one area of his game that isn’t superb is his shooting, which you would think with how precise his passing is he would be a good shooter. But that is not the case as he tends to overpower his shots causing his accuracy to decrease greatly.

Great Wicked Warren
– Club Team –
56ers – Schovenia
– Position –
Center Midfielder
Great Wicked Warren is the pinnacle of the team and is a true commander of the field. The teams’ captain is also one of the first people to join a team outside of Timbermunich, this was due in part to his exceptional play and desire to get better. He is great on the ball and is rarely dispossessed easily maintaining possession in challenging situations. He has good field vision, great stamina and fitness, as well as a shot no keeper wants to be in front of when it is on it’s mark. His leadership on and off the field is second to none and is a great student of the game as he is constantly looking for ways to improve himself and his teams. The coaching staff would love to have 11 players on the field just like Warren and all of them enjoy his coach ability and his lighthearted joking that keeps the team grounded.

Great Dirty Doug
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
– Position –
Left Midfielder
Doug is the teams left midfielder and he does an excellent job fulfilling that roll. He has boundless energy and never seems to tire when on the field. He is a precision passer and can hit almost any target at any time. However his ball control skills still need some work as his first touch often leads him into trouble, so he tries to pass the ball using that first touch rather than controlling it and then doing something with it. His teammates enjoy having him around as he pushes them at training sessions to be better than they are and he is often found well after training has ended working on his touch so he can get better.

Starting Forwards
Great Dagger Dan
– Club Team –
None
- Position –
Right Wing
Dan is a great positional player, rarely ever found out of position and he is exceptionally fast. His speed sometimes gets him into trouble as even when he times his runs officials will still flag him as offside because they can’t imagine someone creating that much space behind a defender without being offside. His Coaches know this is of a concern and often will show officials prior game footage so they are aware of his speed and hopefully not mistake a great run with a true offside call. Dan is also very good in the air and is often a primary target on corner kicks. However he does have one drawback in that he is solely right footed, to the point that he will go out of his way to circle the ball to avoid his left. This can make him an easier mark as defenders learn quickly that he is going to his right, every time. He is working on the left foot but we think it will be a great deal of time before he gets any better with it, his coaches have even restricted him to left only practices in hopes it gets better sooner rather than later.

Great One-Arm Willy
– Club Team –
None
– Position –
Center Forward
Great One-Arm Willy is an excellent striker and has pin point accuracy with his shooting. In order to challenge him and make him a better shooter than he already is the coaches often hang small one inch twigs from the cross bar at different heights and locations around the goal and challenge him to hit them, which he does every time. Because of this he is one of the teams free kick takers and a key target when the team is in the attacking third. The one aspect of his game that suffers is his stamina, he has been working on it but he is often the first to need a substitute in those games that he is required to run a lot in. Another good thing to his game is that he plays up top with one of his sons, which the two almost seem to know what the other is going to do before it ever happens. Willy is one of the best forward the team has.

Great Kyle Slater
– Club Team –
None, Timbermunich only has the National Team
- Position –
Left Wing
The left wing for Timbermunich is Great Kyle Slater and he is a decent player, but does need to improved in a few areas before he will be considered one of Timbermunich’s great players. He is very good on the ball and can dribble at pace with ease, but his dribbling skill is about where is abilities end. Unfortunately there isn’t anyone to fill his spot that is better so the team is kind of stuck with him on the left. His passing is something that, well, sucks to say the least as he will often miss his target when it is only five yards away. The coaches are desperately trying to fix this and work one on one with him, setting up cones at three yards for him to pass between or try and hit with the ball. His field positioning is okay but he tends to hold back and stay more in the central portion of the left side rather than pushing forward with the other two forwards. The other part of his game that is bad is his heading, he will actually duck away from a ball when he could easily use his head to knock it into the goal and he is often whistled for high kicking because he just refuses to use his head. Hopefully the team can find a replacement for him soon or all the individual training he gets will start to pay off.

*Choose my goalscorers
*Godmod scoring events
*Issue yellow cards
*Issue red cards

Laubholz-StadionGreat Timbermunich Forest, Timbermunich | Cap: 86,000
Laubholz-Stadion is located south of the Heart of the Grove and just to the north of TimberOak Grove. TimberOak Grove is the capital of the northern region of Timbermunich which the region is called Great Timbermunich Forest. It is close enough that the Heart of the Groves outer rim can be seen, but note that no one other than the Greats can enter the Heart of the Grove. Due to it’s pulsating power shift, the very essence of all life throughout Timbermunich, any none Great that dares to enter the Heart of the Grove is instantly divulged of all fleshy matter and left as just a frozen skeleton at that point in which they chose to enter. So be warned that any travelers to Timbermunich will be closely watched when near Laubholz-Stadion so that they are not harmed by their own curiosity. Timbermunich is also not responsible for anyone that does not heed this warning and dares to test their fate by going near the Heart of the Grove.

Starting Lineup, Formation, and Tactics:

Image

Valladares' usual formation is a 3-2-2-3 (or 3-4-3 for general reference), which can turn into either a very aggressive yet non-conventional 3-2-5 for attacking or a 5-4-1 (a 3-6-1, even) when the team feel the need to enter into a defensive mode. La Nacional will always be looking to attack and retain ball possession for as long as possible, trying to score many goals in the shortest possible time and mounting an insurmountable lead for the second half of the match when players from both teams start showing signs of fatigue. This squad mostly relies on the speed of both Abel Brücke and Juan Pablo Reyes on the wings both in attack and in defense modes, with defensive midfielders Iván Coupet and Pedro Pedretti being able to retreat to the defensive line with ease whenever the team lose ball possession in order to form a line of 5 defenders, thus giving rival forwards a very hard time when trying to break through the Valladar defense. The 3 forwards are also very speedy and talented but most of all, dangerous: they can turn seemingly harmless crosses into goals, create chances and score goals out of nothing, and kill defenses with speed and lethal counterattacks.

SZAVODA FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION
Сзавода Фудбалски савез/Szavoda futbalový zväz

Szavoda has come a long way from it's humble, alcohol-hazed beginnings. It is now backed by a shifty, multi-billion dollar company, eager to pump the sport full of cash. At the helm is a Euran ex-National team coach, whilst the co-founder, Dazdan Iubirdic, begrudgingly takes his place beside him as his deputy. Somewhere in the backroom is Moli Dolanovic, although her exact role is unknown. In the intervening months between the last Cup of Harmony, SzaTec have set up the Szavda Pro League, with 8 franchise sides with no history or connection - don't let the faux-communist names fool you. The Szavda team has progressed rather unexpectedly to 88th in the world, with an impressive Quarter Final showing at the most recent Cup of Harmony and a Round of 16 finish in the Copa Rushmori.

Management:

Head Coach: Louis Watson Image - Age: 56
The former Euran coaching staff-member and one-timed manager of the national comes into the vacant national team job under rather acrimonious circumstances (see the RP thread), as the backing body, SzaTec International, strong-armed the previous 'administration' into hiring him over their preferred candidate, Danielle Granger of Brenecia. Watson is a noted disciplinarian and man-manager, which could cause some grating in a dressing room of almost exclusively amateur, lazy student footballers, although the arrival of the Szavda Pro League has done something to increase footballing professionalism in the country.

Assistant Coach: Dazdan Iubirdic - Age: 46
The originator of the idea of football in Szavoda, Dazdan's life was at a low point when his wife left him, took most of his money, his child and all his skiing equipment. He'd just returned from a work posting in the icy wastelands of Svengarda and took up his dream with the mysterious Moli. Considers himself a tactical genius. Driven, passionate and perhaps going the way of crazy, Dazdan will do anything to see his dream succeed. He was offered the managership of the new Pro League franchise Vfana RKK, which he accepted, but remains as active as ever in the national set-up.

Physio: Dr. Janu Mazic - Age: 59
Hired specially to provide medical assistance and advice by the SFA a week before the BoF. An expert in muscle injuries, and a fan of money.

Defence Coach: Tristan Kuyter [NEPHARA] - Age: 44
Hired as a foreign expert to help coach the abysmally bad defence. A pretty thankless task, as the defence is more porous than a pile of sponges, but they're slowly working their way up. Doesn't quite get Moli, but hey, no one does. Credited with a significant improvement in the quality of the Szavda defence. Disappointed that Granger was not appointed to the manager's role, but satisfied enough with the suitcases of cash.

Playing Squad

Goalkeepers:

Nemanja Petrovic - Age: 22 - University Team: Willow Street Pirates (Schottia)
A tall, sturdy keeper with a background in handball, which gives him sharp reflexes and an eye for the ball, and one of the few players on the side who cares for football, even foregoing a handball scholarship to a different University to remain in Nevograd to play football. Prefers the 'sweeper keeper' role, although he is prone to errors when outside the box. Superb in the Baptism of Fire, keeping three clean sheets and establishing himself as the Number 1. Had to pick the ball out of the net a fair few times in the World Cup, but developed well. He was the 3rd Szavda player to earn a professional contract overseas, playing for the Willow Street Pirates in Schottia. During his spare time there, he and his girlfriend have opened up a Szavda deli.

Stjepan Lukic - Age: 19 - Team: Union Kadlec
Diminutive in stature, at only 5ft 7", and bouncing full of energy. No particular sports background, just likes to get out in the fresh air and throw himself around in the mud. Prone to making rash decisions and doing perhaps unnecessary things which risk goals, much to the displeasure of his defence. Always a talkative presence behind the defensive line, even if it isn't always about football. No relation to Tim in the defence.

Defenders:

Slavko Stefanovic - Age: 22 - Team: Vfana RKK
An apprentice plumber from Vfana, Slavko operates as a traditional full-back, prowling up and down either the left or right flank, although for the purposes of the Baptism of Fire he will play on the right. He has good pace and sharp footwork, capable of delivering swinging crosses and corners.

Radmilo Novak - Age: 19 - Team: Union Kreceva
Good at both ends of the pitch, strong and physical in defence - which can often lead to penalties against his name -, with a smart head on his shoulders, and a real threat from set pieces down the other end. He'll always be up in the opposition box for free kicks and corners, capable of good headers. Also possesses and handy turn of pace and tackling skills to match attacking threats.

Tim Lukic - Age: 22 - Team: Kreceva SK19
A grizzled (if you can be grizzled at 22 years of age) centre back who takes no nonsense. Strong and powerful with the jump of a salmon, Tim is a big threat during attacking corners, but loves nothing more than to put an opposition striker on his backside. Expect plenty of colourful cards and colourful language. Over the course of three World Cups, Lukic has become a real leader, acting as vice-captain. He has a ferocious, never-say-die attitude which has made him a favourite with what little fans exist and foreigners who encounter him. Plays his football around his National Service placement.

Vedran Milosevic - Age: 19 - Team: Dinamo Kreceva
A lively wing-back in the traditional mould, who can play on both flanks and switch the play very easily. Two footed and capable of sensational strikes from outside the area, Vedran is one of the teams most exciting talents, someone who, along with Branimir Milic, could actually make a career out of playing football. Grew up in a privileged household in Vfana, and was able to watch Euran football live on television, which attributes to his skill and flare.

Kuzman Jovanovic - Age: 25 -Team: Vfana RKK
Despite being a debutant in the squad, he is automatically one of the oldest players to have ever played for Szavoda. Jovanovic, a trainee lawyer, entered Szavda football through a series of public trials which were held after the most recent Cup of Harmony. He impressed the coaching staff and was signed up to the one of the franchises in the Pro League and put on a training regime. As a defender, Jovanovic brings his skills from playing full back in rugby to act as a vigilant sweeper, with decent speed and tackling ability. Boundless energy makes him a constant presence at the back.

Vlastimir Markovic - Age: 18 - Team: FK01 Nevograd
A centre back who can also play on the left or the right, or in midfield, Markovic plays with high levels of energy and has good dribbling skills, which means he often likes to play the ball out of defence as opposed to hoofing the ball up the pitch, which is the traditional tactic of the team.

Nenad Nikolic - Age: 23 - Team: WFKV
A natural leader at the back, with a good brain on his shoulders. He is good at reading match situations, and often has to lead the defence in set pieces and the like. Reluctant to get off his feet, Nenad relies more on non-contact methods to win the ball off of opponents and keep it from them.

Midfielders

Branimir Milic - Age: 23 - Team: Ulsa Image
The only actually decent player in the squad, and the captain of the squad. Blessed with immense speed and wonderful close ball control, Branimir loves nothing more than to pick up the ball in the midfield and drive into the opposition penalty area. Long range shooting and vision are two more important arrows in his quiver, but he does not shirk on his defensive responsibilities, despite being a rather diminutive 5ft 7", and comes back for corners and to defend free-kicks. Milic is the beating heart of the otherwise static Szavoda team - always moving and running, trying to find space for himself and for others, whilst both on and off the ball. Following the Baptism of Fire, he was picked up by Euran Third Division club Moors. He will look to lead the team to a decent showing at their second World Cup Qualifying campaign. Showing more and more that he is a top-quality operator, but has problems executing his skills without able support from his less talented team-mates.

Pero Milovanovic - Age: 19 - Team: Severazlos Company
A static distributor of the ball, Milovanovic sits in front of the back four and passes the ball out from about a 10 yard box in which he operates. Defensively astute, standing at 6ft 4", he plays often as a fifth defender by slotting in between the two central defenders. A decent attacking threat from set-pieces, too.

Srecko Brekovic - Age: 22 - Team: WFKV
A central midfield play-maker previously unseen in Szavda colours. At 6ft 3", he is a formidable presence in the middle of the park, and has exceptional passing ability, both on the ground and over the top. He leads the counter-attacks with a notable turn of pace and good footwork, and as a result, he likes to get forward and create goals. He is being touted as the next Milic, despite only there being a year between the two, and he reflects the captain in many ways with his movement and creativity on the ball.

Nemanja Radic - Age: 20 - Team: Kreceva SK19
An apprentice electrician, although how much work or training he is doing is questionable. Another in the mould of the young, energetic player who doesn't have much of a clue of the technical side of the game. Plays a central midfielder, but tends to rove all over the pitch, mostly following the ball with hot-headed enthusiasm. Possesses decent pace as well.

Isijia Jovanovic - Age: 22 - Team: Vfana RKK
Varies between magic and ordinary, often serving up healthy portions of both during the span of a 90 minute game. He can get the ball at his feet and within seconds be running rings around opposition defenders, but then only minutes later he can slice a simple pass into no-man's land for an opposition player to run onto and score.

Domenic Marsejevic - Age: 23 - Team: Severazlos Company
Your no-nonsense, hard-hitting central midfielder who lacks the glamour and guile of players like Milic and Jovanovic, but has a canny knowledge of the game and can get himself in good positions both in attack and defence. Chips in with the odd assist and goal as well, which comes in handy. He has become a real midfield leader, although he has been hampered by injury in recent months.

Stefan Petrovic - Age: 21 - Team: FK01 Nevograd
Young and full of energy, he always wants to be on the ball and to unfurl his various tricks which he has learned off of Branimir Milic. Sometimes they come off, which looks nice, but most of the time he's left chasing after an opposition defender who's stolen the ball off of him, which as made him quite fast and strong.

Ljuban Zoric - Age: 25 - Team: Dinamo Kreceva
Lived overseas for the majority of his life, he experienced football first hand, even playing youth grade football until he upped sticks and returned to the Glorious Motherland. He is a rare breed of midfielder who strives to get forward and score goals, and specialises in the spectacular. His powering runs and cannon-like shooting are something to be watched out for.

Javor Ilic - Age: 19 - Team: Union Kadlec
A sprightly attacking midfielder with quick feet and and good eye for goal. Operates well behind the two front men as a good distributor of the ball, known for his cutting through balls which split the defence and allow Nikazic and co. to nip in behind. Takes free-kicks from around the box and corners on the left hand side. Second penalty taker after Milic.

Strikers

Mijo Nikazic - Age: 21 - Team: Union Kadlec
The pinpoint of Szavoda's counter-attacking philosophy, Nikazic is small and very, very fast. He can go from a standing start to full pace in a matter of seconds, which makes him absolutely lethal on the break. His size allows him to squeeze past defenders in the box and he has shot placement to match any international striker. A real talent in a side that lacks, well, talent.

Zar Mihailovic - Age: 26 - Team: Arsenal de Releinthi [ABANHFLEFT]
The living epitome of the word 'target-man' - he's big, strong and knows where the goal is. Outside the penalty area, he's about as effective as a chocolate tea-pot, but inside, he only needs a yard to beat the keeper. He acts as a good foil against the small Nikazic, and together two the make a decent strike partnership. Second Szavda player to player overseas, and has become better for it.

Graeme Stefanovic - Age: 32 - Team: Union Kreceva
His first name might give you an indication as to his roots. Graeme was born to a Szavda father and a Euran mother, and was raised in Bastion. He dabbled in semi-pro football in Eura, but stopped after he was hired by a mining company for a number of years in Szavoda, where he lived in Kreceva. He played recreationally amongst the Euran expat community, and entered the system during the public trials. He is a smart and able striker, able to extract space in the box and draw out defenders.

Home Stadia: SzaTec Park, Vfana (21,000)
The World Cup Committee won't permit qualifiers to be played on what is effectively a field with some paint on it, so Szavoda have had to play their official home games at the rather soulless SzaTec park in Vfana Docks. It is originally a Rugby stadium, but several unmarked brown envelopes at the offices of the presiding club ensured that the ground will be free for all of Szavoda's home qualifiers.

Lot 37 (Official Capacity: 0)
Situated in a run-down industrial park on the outskirts of Vfana in southern Szavoda, Lot 37 is just a patch of scrubland with grass laid down in patches and white lines hastily painted on. There are no seats, so opposition fans, should they come, are advised to bring their own seating. A retractable stand seating 400 was ordered from Eura, but it never turned up. Whilst it is the spiritual home of Szavda football NO GAMES WILL BE PLAYED HERE.

DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ABANHFLEFT
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL TEAM

Fresh from their third-place success of Flardania's Emperor's Cup, the Fleftic men's national football team is finally ready to lead Abanhfleft to its first ever World Cup appearance in four attempts. A familiar face, Walter White, have finally retired from international duties, but fear not, for Abanhfleft has a large and ready pool of players willing and eager to play for the blue, orange and green.

BASIC INFORMATION
Name of nation: Democratic Republic of Abanhfleft
Demonym: Fleftic
Team colors: Blue, orange, and green
Style modifier: +3.5
Formation: 4-3-1-2
Head coach: Kasper Molak (61 y/o, Slovakia)

STARTERS
GK: Maksim Varamoninov 30 y/o, Sporting Ceneisis Image, vice-captain
A traditional keeper, Varamoninov prefers to stay behind and near his goal as much as possible, unless his team has gone on the offensive and there are no other players to bother him in his half, or when he is called forward in the last minutes of a game for the possibility of scoring a header from a corner. A very tall keeper with insanely long limbs and neck and, according to many Fleftic footie fans, one of the most punchable faces in the league.

LB: Jefferson Samonte 30 y/o, Arsenal de Releinthi Image
Age is beginning to catch up on the Arsenal left-back, as he has been benched in favor of Canadian Paul Leduc, as the already not-so-pacy Samonte slowed down a little more for the Gunners in their current campaign to retain the title. However, Samonte has been given the go-ahead to start for the national team by Kasper Molak, who will certainly hope that the defender will finally find the form that led Arsenal to their twenty-seventh league title last season, as well as the Multiverse Conference trophy.

LCB: Nestor Mikkelsen 26 y/o, Electric Yugal FC Image
The indefatigable left-center-back from Electric Yugal has proved indispensable for his team even as the Electrics' campaign to return to the Premier League took a horrible tailspin and almost resulted in them plunging even further down to Ikalawang Liga, with Mikkelsen's defensive heroics proving the difference between staying up and dropping down. He's already earned his place in the Fleftic back line over the likes of Jordan Cervantes and Holland Emilianovski, and if he repeats his performances for Electric for the national team, then that's another positive for Kasper Molak.

RCB: Luke Edwards 29 y/o, Riuwiee United Image, captain
The captain of the national team is back, and this time, he's even more raring to go into action ever since a knee injury last season derailed Riuwiee United's hopes of a thirty-third title. Now fully healed and back into both Georges Leblanc and Kasper Molak's starting eleven, Edwards is looking forward to competing on the international stage once again and show younger brother Rory, who has been included in the senior national team for the first time in his career, how a real international player plays.

RB: Charles Amoroso 32 y/o, Locomotive Imgortur Image
One might question why Kasper Molak has decided to trust a back five with an average age of 29.4 years. And Molak would immediately respond with "experience." And there is probably no defender in Abanhfleft more experienced than Charles Amoroso, who has been a staunch defensive line for all the teams he's played for in his entire career. From his hometown club Duhblakk Rovers to defending champions Arsenal de Releinthi to current club Locomotive Imgortur, Amoroso's defensive contributions are known all throughout the Fleftic football league system.

LM: Abdullah Musa 28 y/o, Tefel FC Image
One of the surprise inclusions to the national squad when Abanhfleft first entered a World Cup qualifier, Musa has then proved his worth with consistent displays of both defensive and offensive prowess, the mark of a true midfielder. Musa will not hesitate to chop down opponents trying to make a move into the Fleftic half, and will also make long balls and passes to other players to set up attacks. Truly, it is a shame that he plies his trade for Tefel FC, which is currently languishing in the middle of Unang Liga.

CM: Valery Zolnerov 24 y/o, Kimmirut Panhandle Image
After impressing for the under-21s in Abanhfleft's first ever Di Bradini campaign, Zolnerov dropped off the radar after turning 22 and becoming ineligible for the under-21s and turning in a decent-ish performance for Kimmirut Panhandle. However, when he began playing consistent first-team football and helped Kimmirut to return to the Premier League after five seasons in Unang Liga, Zolnerov is back on everyone's minds. Now it's his choice if he keeps to Kimmirut and help them survive the Premier League or if he will leave for a better team here or abroad.

RM: Alan Turpentine 27 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Image
Turpentine first appeared on the national squad in World Cup 71 qualifying, first as backup to Walter White and eventually taking over White's place in the starting eleven by the Cup of Harmony. And he hasn't disappointed anyone with his performances yet. In any other team Turpentine would be a CDM (and that's exactly the role he plays for Rosenpfelblatz), but in the Fleftic national team where there's really no space for a CDM, Turpentine will have to play a fully central midfielder. Not that it troubles him much, though, and he has managed to score a few goals in such a position for Rosenpfelblatz before.

CAM: Rory Edwards 22 y/o, All-Inclusive Haranguer Image, on loan from Riuwiee United Image
Consistent for the three years that he'd been playing for the under-21s but never quite managing to lead them to the title, the younger Edwards sibling has made his mark, but will certainly look to make that mark bigger with his inclusion into the first team of the senior squad. His main job will be feeding Potter and Kelvin, but he can and does score some goals from his position. He has the future to be either a false 9 or an actual striker in his own right.

CF: Gustavo Potter 29 y/o, Gryphons Nubalochi FC Image (Oontaz Dert Li Ng)
When a female striker is picked over you in your national team's first foray into international football, that has to be saying something for your ability to shoot and score goals. But perhaps Potter has just been unlucky that the female player chosen over him was Chelsea Stuart, who is genuinely of the best forwards Abanhfleft has ever seen. Not that Potter hasn't engineered some great Premier League moments as well. Who can forget the screamer that he scored against Sporting Ceneisis back in 2008, or the Panenka penalty he scored against Riuwiee United to give Sarvusdalamoive the SFA Cup before he left for Oontaz Dert Li Ng?

CF: Kevin Kelvin 25 y/o, Malabon SC Image
Well, here's a player that's finally playing in the level he deserves. Kevin Kelvin first came to attention during the World Cup 71 qualifiers as a stunning substitute striker that sent in lots of cools shots for the Democratic Republic. Unfortunately this form hasn't carried to his club Electric Yugal, who were eventually relegated to Unang Liga last season. Fortunately for Kelvin once again, Adelmio Bandini saw potential in him and picked him up for Malabon for NS$10m. Not a bad price for a striker that scores tons when he's in form, yet can be frustratingly bad when he's not in form.

RESERVES
GK: Ikenna Obama 24 y/o, Admiral Porcusces Image
Turned in some good performances for his stint in the under-21s, and will look to warm the bench for the senior squad this time around.

GK: Samwell Crownover 22 y/o, Thereisnogodistan FC Image
Impressed lots of people with being one of the youngest starting keepers ever to play a full season for Thereisnogodistan during their Multiverse Premier League campaign. Will probably alternate between him and Obama in warming the backup keeper spot on the bench.

DEF: Jordan Cervantes 27 y/o, Ludogorets Markovsky Image
An alright defender. Confident in the air but sometimes scared straight out of his boots on the ground. Slide tackles galore when he's on the pitch, but he does make up for it with headers both brutally efficient and amazingly beautiful.

DEF: Holland Emilianovski 30 y/o, Rosenpfelblatz City Image
Didn't really get much of a sniff at a starting spot the last time he appeared for the team during a World Cup, and will probably have more of the same experience this cycle. Still, he's good to have as an impact sub when the team is looking to lock down on defense.

DEF: Ulysses Perez 25 y/o, Gyouza Young Lads Image
Brought along on the off chance that either Cervantes or Emilianovski could get injured in training or in the last few minutes of a game. Surprised everybody with good defensive performances for the Young Lads but surprised everyone once again when he was included into the national team with barely any international experience.

MID: Durdan Lovren 26 y/o, FC Sheriff Tiraspol Image (Pridnestrovia)
Effective midfield distributor and executor when he's in form, and turns over the ball every second touch when he's not. (Liverpool fans will know that it's based on namesake Dejan Lovren)

MID: Tomas Hargreaves 22 y/o, Riuwiee United Image
Another surprise inclusion that has left everyone mystified once again. Sure, he's played well for the United under-23s, but he hasn't made the cut yet for his club's first team, so he's probably just another emergency backup option for Molak once again.

MID: Josh Hodges 28 y/o, Bananas FC Image
Hodges is a natural winger who will have to play a deeper role for the national team as the current formation allows only for two forwards and four midfielders. Hodges is not a happy defender and would prefer to be out forward with the other forwards, causing the formation to shift to a 4-3-3 from time to time. Opponents can and will take advantage of Hodges' sluggishness to return to the defense, as was proved by Bananas' relegation to the Unang Liga last season. However, Hodges is too good of a winger-midfielder to just drop due to his work rate, and Kasper Molak will probably just cross his fingers and hope that his other midfielders could handle the gap left behind. Currently injured yet is still expected to recover well within the current qualifying cycle, and now benched in favor of Valery Zolnerov.

MID: Peter Rice 30 y/o, Hapoel Nineveh FC Image (Oontaz Dert Li Ng)
Once again, it's a question of whether Kasper Molak could've gotten a younger player to play in the right winger role, seeing as Peter Rice is currently 30 years old going on 31, and is noticeably getting slower in pace and acceleration, which is saying something since the Oontaz First Division is widely considered to be "less competitive" than the Fleftic Premier League. Still, Rice's engine is still working as hard as it should and could. There's still a few more years of Rice assisting and sometimes scoring goals, both for club and country. Also picked up a knock during the Emperor's Cup but also expected to recover quickly and in time for the midpoint of the qualifiers, but now benched to make way for Rory Edwards in the starting eleven.

FW: Warren Diggs 24 y/o, Fleftic Air Force Image
Useful only for penalties and absolute sitters. Kind of like Abanhfleft's version of Szavoda's Zar Mihailovic, who incidentally is playing for Arsenal in the Fleftic Premier League.

FW: Yoshinobu Mori 22 y/o, Metallurgist Beledor Image
The half-Japanese half-Fleftic striker who's made waves for the under-21s in the Di Bradini Cup is somehow still playing for Metallurgist Beledor, long after anyone with a half-decent knowledge of football would have thought that he would have been by another team by now. Perhaps the lad's loyal, or perhaps there's something in his game that the big teams see and don't like.

FW: Kareem Dagen 17 y/o, Eikborg Club Image (Semarland)
Dagen can be described as the breakout player of the Sporting World Cup, scoring 10 goals and leading Abanhfleft to second place in the aforementioned tournament. His amazing performance as a striker led to his signing by Eikborg Club, a Semarlandish club competing in the Globe Cup, making him the first ever Fleftic player to sign for a foreign league other than Pridnestrovia, Oontaz Dert Li Ng and Copper Cuprum, which actually turned out to be a wrong "fact" because Claire Osgood signed for Port Christopher's Blue Coast before Dagen went to Semarland. Dagen's quality performance in the Sporting World Cup also earned him a starting spot in the Fleftic under-21s, over the likes of Garrett Krantz and Irina Babarushchik, and how he has a spot in the senior team because Manute Beineka got injured in the away leg of the playoff against Brenecia.

STADIUMS
All football stadiums in Abanhfleft now have seats following a mandatory upgrade in 2000, but despite this ruling, many, if not all, stadiums still allow standing spectators during matches. However, in anticipation for World Cup qualifying matches, more security forces had been hired by the authorities to make sure that there are no standing spectators in such games.

NOTE: Matches will be played in the stadiums by order of enumeration, i.e. Saintland in May 26, Witty Penguins in IKEA Arena and so on.

Short history: The May 26 Stadium, originally known as Raschner Lane, and later on as Riuwiee National Stadium, was built in 1886 as a cricket ground, and it served as home for two semi-pro cricket teams before it was bought by the Riuwiee Capitals football team, which will later on become Riuwiee United. After the conclusion of the Catholic Revolution of 2008, the national government bought the controlling share of Riuwiee National Stadium and renamed it the May 26 Revolution Memorial Stadium, in commemoration of the May 26 Revolution that eventually established the nation of Abanhfleft. Riuwiee United still play in the May 26 Stadium, but now it is also the chosen stadium for home games by the Fleftic national football team.

The Wanderers played in a nearby high school athletic field for the duration of the arena's construction. In 2010, when IKEA entered into a sponsorship agreement with the Wanderers, the arena was consequently called IKEA Arena for sponsorship reasons. This agreement is expected to continue until 2020, after both sides came to a six-year contract extension.

Coaching Staff

Huangzhou Yu
Age: 31
From Xiangzhou Sapphire's field, the assistant coach looks promising according to the critics and was the assistant of Xíangjí Hatema. He started his career as coach with a local team and fought his way up to the major domestic league of Kandorith. He has shown to be calm and understanding. Now he makes a return in the coaching staff of the Dragons, as the assistant coach to Yúan Genshí, who spoke utterly confident about Huangzhou's abilities. Huangzhou took over the Kandorese coaching responsibility during World Cup 72, when Xí-tiang was unable to further fulfill his duties and was blamed for the bad performance of the Kandorese team. Huangzhou Yu, after receiving the green light from the Emperor himself, can name himself the youngest coach of the Kandorese national football team ever.

Starting XI

Defence

Goalkeeper

Jianjun Tuan
Age: 25
Length: 186CM
With Wú the legendary goalie of Xiangzhou Frontale injured, Jianjun Tuan takes his place. Jianjun is the goalie of Mazhéng Reds; young and yet very experienced. By the media he is dubbed the rising star of Kandorese football and the brick wall in front of goal. Standing 186CM tall, Tuan has amazing cat like reflexes, ready to jump at all incoming balls and keeping his team safe from conceding

Defence

Xian Shilin
Age: 25
Length: 185CM
Xian is a cold blooded defender of Gamba Hujiajing, a true old school styled defender. Always trying to get his tackles perfectly timed, and never taking his eyes off the ball. His other noteworthy abilities are his free kicks and headers, which he excels at by far.

Huán Jun
Age: 22
Length: 176CM
Huán is the young defender of Nagato, bringing his agile play and quick pace to the Red Dragon's team for the first time in the World Cup

Lung Mara
Age: 26
Length: 176CM
Lung Mara, the tactical connection of defense and the midfield; with amazing speed and passing ability he makes sure the midfield is supplied with the ball to start the counter. Defensive he stays mostly back, until the attacking side slips up, that's when Mara sets in motion the counter

Midfield

Mao Zhensheng
Age: 24
Length: 1862M
A fine defender from Xianghzou Sapphires, replacing Miraki, his team member, in the national team. Young, tall and very quick across the pitch. A true nightmare for approaching strikers. Even though he plays on the midfield, Zhensheng mostly takes a defensive role on this midfield and rarely joins the attack

Keiláng Xie
Age: 21
Length: 180CM
Keiláng Xie is the replacement of the almost legendary JieJie, who decided to opt out for the Kandorese national team after trouble with injuries, Keiláng, like JieJie, plays in Nagato Goya and is a well known quick paced winger, he is also known for quick runs trough the middle and even trying to score himself from time to time.

Taiji Moto (Captain)
Age: 28
Length: 181CM
The Captain, El Commandante, and the elder; Taiji Moto the captain of the Kandorese National Team and the Captain of Nagato Goya. Experienced, ferocious and quick. He plays mostly defensive but when he sees a goal scoring opportunity or the chance for an assist he won't hold back. He is one of the links of the chain,to keep that ball passing and keep possession, while steering the team towards a goal, However World Cup 73 will be Taiji's last one for now as he has announced to pull back from international football

Ximin Chosi
Age: 24
Length: 177CM
Ximin, an ambitious young player from Yingshua Sabers, one of the lesser known teams of the Kandorese Imperial League; but equally dangerous as the bigger names, mostly because of this player. He is an excellent runner, passer and crosser; always looking for a hole in the defence to press the ball towards the striker, he does not often score; but when he does, it's a ranged effort with extreme finesse.

Shan Xiaobo
Age: 26
Length: 177CM
Shan is a true sideline winger and midfielder. He awaits any chance on the wings and answers those with quick runs forward and crosses into the box. His passing and crossing accuracy is deadly, especially in deadlocked or important matches. He has been the star of his team Quiatoa Shinsen for many years now.

Strikers

Madato Xien-kan
Age: 22
Length: 180CM
Madato is the star striker of Qing Shinsen, a lesser known and mid table club from the Kandorese domestic league. After Xí-tiang took the national team under his wings, Madato has been proving himself to the coach over and over. Now instead of starting on the bench, this young player has the ability to prove why he should be at least as frequently in the starting eleven as Méng is.

Minzheng Shéng
Age: 22
Length: 182CM
Minzhen, a true support striker who rather passes the ball than score himself. Even though he has created beautiful goals in the past; he is the man to set up the initial goal. A great all round runner and striker, a great free kick taker, but not truly a finisher; but in combination with Méng a very deadly forward

Méng Zeijí
Age: 25
Length: 181CM
The current star of Kandorese football. This youngster has made his name as goal cannon, never passing the oppertunity to score and when he does see the chance; the ball flies in like a guided projectile. Also agile and a real dribbler, he loves to run circles around the defence and rocket the ball into a tight corner. Méng is accurate, calm and controlled, which made him the current top scorer of the Kandorese league.

Home Stadium:

"Huanghzhé Stadium"
Capacity: 120,000

Originally designed as a multi-purpose Olympic stadium, it was bought by the management of the Nagato Goya soccer team. After a billion Yuanshi project the stadium was fully renovated and issued as the largest football stadium within Kandorith, still in use by both Nagato Goya and the Kandorese National team.

Map

Tourist's Handbook:

1) Where is Maklohi Vai and how do I get there?
Maklohi Vai is an island group, comprising an archipelago and a truncated volcanic chain, located in southeast Atlantian Oceania. There are ferries to some other nations in AO, but those are long rides typically unsuitable for tourists. The best way to get to Maklohi Vai is by plane, most likely through Kolo Lahi International Airport. From there, there are connecting flights, roads, ferries, or trains to all other destinations in the country.

2) Will I be able to communicate with the locals?
Maklohi Vai is a bilingual nation, with 98% of the citizenry knowing both Vaian and English. Highly educated people, no matter their field, will typically learn one or two more languages, often an East Asian language (Chinese, Japanese, Korean, etc.) or a major Romance language (French, Spanish, Portuguese, etc.). Those working in cultural and historical fields often learn Siroyese and Samoan as well. If none of these meet your language, there are translators available at all visitor information centers and major tourist destinations.

3) Where can I stay?
There are numerous hotels and smaller hostels in and around every city. The Vaian economy is largely built on tourism, so there’s plenty of options in many places. If you need help, you can contact the National Tourism Bureau.

4) What and where can I eat?
Like hotels, restaurants and cafes are abundant in cities and along highways linking the cities. In the more tourist heavy sections of the country, as well as those more metropolitan areas, cuisine is global, encompassing a number of options from nearly any place you can think of. If you’re looking for a trendy bite, try out a Vaian fusion restaurant, the new kids on the scene. If you’re off the beaten path in other parts of the country, you’re likely to find the local cuisine more frequently. This consists largely of fish and other seafood, tropical fruit, a multitude of spices, and various root vegetables like taro.

5) Are there any religious services available?
Yes, although they may be hard to find. Maklohi Vai is 94% atheist, with the remaining 6% being almost entirely Christian, mainly Mormon and Catholic. As such, it’s not hard to find those places of worship if you’re in a big city. There are a few other Protestant denominational churches in Kolo Lahi and Totai, a mosque in Kolo Lahi, and a synagogue in Wakita.

6) What cultural norms should I observe?
Vaians are very friendly, welcoming people. If they see you looking around lost, they’ll come over and help. If they see you looking very much like a tourist on the street, they’ll wave and say hello, a gesture which you should return. It is considered impolite to not accept an offer of hospitality such as a ride to where you’re going or another offer of assistance. Do not try to pay those who help you, as this is typically embarrassing; it is better to give a sincere thanks and a warm handshake.

7) Will I be safe?
There is little to no daylight crime whatsoever, especially not in tourist areas. Likewise, if you’re going to a restaurant or bar and there are a lot of other people around, you will be perfectly safe. If you must be out at night alone, it’s safe on major roads and in the downtowns of cities. The danger lies in the rural parts of the country, off the main roads. There are opportunist theives who are not afraid to strip you of your belongings before letting you go. Murder and violent crime rates are extremely low.

8) What health services are available?
The nationalized healthcare system admits foreign patients free of charge for a one time ER visit. If you enter a hospital, costs are subsidized heavily, but do expect a bill. Ambulances run with great speed, as do the police. Dial 444 on any phone to get services.

9) Are there sensitive politics that I should avoid?
If you are not a native of Maklohi Vai or otherwise very well acquainted with its political situation, it is considered bad form to make disparaging remarks against government officials. Mild criticism is acceptable, although not warmly welcomed, and if you voice strong opinions contrary to the present political situation, be prepared for a debate. Vaians love to talk politics and love even more to engage in a intellectual debate about it, especially with someone who doesn’t know what they’re talking about. It is best to not be that person.

10) How is the civil rights situation?
Maklohi Vai is ranked highly internationally for civil rights, and all people are accepted regardless of any preference, with one major exception: religious fundamentalists. The Mormon population in other countries may be known for their proselytizing, but in Maklohi Vai they stay quiet for a good reason: Over 3/4 of the country identifies as anti-fundamentalist and anti-religious activism. If you hold particularly strong religious beliefs, do not share them out loud, let alone try to persuade others of them. This is a very good way to make a Vaian’s good charm flip to the opposite emotion. Besides this, there is almost no reason to be scared because of who you are.
"For the glory of our people, we govern our nation freely. For the glory of Polynesia, we help and strengthen our friends. For the glory of the earth, we do not destroy what it has bestowed upon us."
