CoPS is FanT RP group, not based out of any particular region. We accept the existence of fully MT and human nations, but we also accept non-human nations and those who wish to incorporate magic and other non-MT items into their experience, along with PT RPers and FT if you'd like. We are looking for quality RPers, who are interested in joining our community, and provide new and fresh ideas for RPs. We have an emphasis on one thing, and one thing only: storytelling. In our books, everything comes second to telling a good story. If realism has to bend a little in order to tell a good story? So be it.
As a side note, while CoPS does stand for 'the Coalition of Ponyist States' and we have our roots in RP based on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, we do stretch far beyond that. We do have a great many nations who remain based in MLP or who have some degree of pony population, but we also have nekos, furries, elves, and all other sorts of non-humans running around. We do not expect or demand that you have any kind of grounding in the show My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, nor do we demand you be a fan of the show if you want to join. As we said, we're looking for quality RPers, and beyond that we don't really care.
We expect quality RPing that comes together to tell a story of some kind or the other, and if some realism or what not has to be sacrificed in order to tell that story then we accept that. If you're coming here expecting to do RPs where you want everything to be uber-hard-core realistic, then, I'm afraid this group is not the right one for you. If you're looking to, 'win', through some manner, then this may not be right for you either, but if you are interested in story telling, in any possible setting? You've found the right place. As far as rules and regulations go, we're hands off. We don't have any formal hierarchy, outside of myself as the OP, and my co-OPs, Urmanian, Kouralia and Malgrave. All our power is limited to deciding whether or not to accept a new member of the group. However, even then, we prefer to let you all have a say in who comes in, and we are more than open to your opinions on new members and what not. Furthermore, if you have an RP you want to be advertised in the OP of the group, just TG one of them and they'll see about it getting put up. We encourage you all to come up with your own RP ideas that are either done in one on one work with the other members of the region, or a general RP. If you have any problems with a member of the RP group, feel free to TG one of us, and we'll be happy to see if we can arbitrate something.
A word on our acceptance of magic. We view magic much in the same way we view tech, and just as we don't want people to try and claim that they 'win' automatically due to superior tech, we don't want people who do the same except with magic. Magic, when it is used, should be used to propel the story along. Our guiding principle here is 'suspension of disbelief'. While we allow realism to bend, we do not eject it completely. While things do not have to be realistic, they do have to be believable, and this applies to magic as much as it does to claims about technology, population, economics, etc. As long as what you claim about your country is believable or can be used to tell a better story, we're find with your claiming anything you want. If you're worried something you're doing is 'wankish' feel free to post in the thread asking about it.

NOTE: The maps are currently being heavily edited to make room for new players, so please be patient while we get through this opening process.
Ongoing RP threads:
- The Celestial Chronicle is a Regional/Group News-piece. Think of it as a 'website' that 'collates' news 'articles' from your nation's news providers. If you have an event (say, a minor character (from the story perspective, but maybe a major character in your nation - King, for example) dying of a heart attack) which isn't important enough to warrant a full-on RP, then you can post it here.
- This is less an RP, more a detailed, IC regional message board, obey the OP guidelines, and post whenever you feel like it.- A Day in the Life: This is a general thread, meant to serve as a home for short stories about the lives of every day citizens in your nation. You may right about whatever you want, for as long as you want, so long as you obey both NS rules and the thread OP. This is a good place to do some world building, or introduce characters who will be of use later, or just a short story that you wrote about your nation.
- Emergent Nations Gala: For all the newer players in the region to serve as a meet and greet. Come and introduce us to your nation and characters.
- Red in Hoof and Claw: The Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Dominion of the Lubyak has resigned, and left a power vacuum in the wake. Now, elements within the government--and beyond--seek to fill that vacuum to their advantage. Come and enter the labyrinth of Lubyakan politics, and who knows? You might just come out on top. This is a character RP and will require an app to join.
- The Taros Islands: a small collection of temperate volcanic peaks, settled in the middle of the vast Tacitus Ocean. Though small, these islands have proven strategically vital to the Dominion of the Lubyak, both as a local naval base, and as a base from which to control the surrounding shipping lanes. However, in more recent years, the attitudes of the local islanders have turned more and more against the Dominion...and now their patience is at an end.
- This can be a good start for RPing small-scale, covert, or civilian involvement in an insurgency/civil war, ask Lubyak to get involved.
- The 'A Wizard Did It Initiative' (aka The Council of Magi) is formulated in Mystria to ensure that mages can have an international voice and that, like the Stonewall Foundation for LGBT people, there is a group who can look after their welfare in foreign nations - even going to war for them if necessary. So, why not come along and pull up a seat to eat delicious Spirean Delicacies and get up to the amusing hi-jinks which occur oddly often at serious international summits? Doesn't matter if you're not really magical, you can always become an observer and, hey - free Spirean food is not to be sniffed at.
- This is a character driven RP that can easily lead to other RPs, and will require applying in the linked thread before participating.
