Thanks Berg. Anyone else support a bid by me? Any objections/criticisms, list 'em out, if you have them. Just need to figure out who to let in this tournament (established people who already have players in the ITA, or let people sign up? I'm leaning towards the first.) I just want at least some RPing going on from nations other than myself. :)

Alright, here's what I'm thinking for the tournament details:

Tournament Name: The Voralberg Masters Cup
Venue: Royal Hollow Tennis Center, Eisenstadt, Thatius
Court Type: Hard
Players: Men and Women's Singles
Type: Single Elimination (seeding)
Entries: 64 Men, 64 Women (top 56 men and women directly qualify for main entry draw, 32 other men and women [outside top 56 and unranked] will be placed in the qualifying draw, and the top 8 will gain direct entry into the tournament)*
Scorinator: xkoranate
RP Bonus: ~35%
Start Date: Approx. October 1st
Days will scorinate: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

Any questions, comments you have, please ask them. If you're an active nation who wants to submit a player, I will be taking several entries after this post, so please do so if you're interested!

*I will be sorting through active and inactive nations, to make sure there will be no players competing from ex-nations (i.e. Warkus, Justownia, and Atlanza)

I'm glad Thatius has shown the initiative to get the ball rolling on this again. I fully support his proposal for the Voralberg Masters Cup.

As for who shall participate, all active ITA members. Perhaps we should send all members a TG asking them to confirm they still wish to compete since it has been so long since the last tournament. Definitely do not include CTEs like Justownia.

But, Thatius, if you want only those who are going to RP we might want to consider a seperate sign-up, but I don't think that is necessary.

Thanks Cosumar.

While I want as much RP as possible, I will include nations who have players signed up already. Today I will be sending a TG to all nations who have at least one player registered with the ITA, and is eligible to enter the VMC. This TG will include all the information the nation needs to know about the tournament, where to find the draws, RP thread, etc.

The reason why I am ambivalent on whether to include people who will just RP or not, is because I fear there will be only about 3-4 active nations participating. But for those who do RP, they will earn a bonus for their work, of course.

Alright, the RP thread is up. The cutoff for RPing is this Saturday (October 1) at 12:00 PM Central Standard Time. You may find the thread here:

Tonarius, I accepted a few of your men's and women's singles players for the VMC. Several of them are listed in the qualifying draw, and the others may receive a wildcard (I think I can guarantee at least one WC on both the men and women's side.) I hope that you will be RPing! Click the link I posted somewhere above, and that will take you to the RP thread. :)

Just wanted to ask, I can't find any Chenkoryan players in the qualification draw of the Voralberg Masters Cup. Did they all get a wildcard? I really TG'ed Thatius that the Chenkoryan players would be participating!

Sorry, I'll clarify for you Chenkorya. All your players entered are ranked on the ITA Rankings, so they are already directly entered in the main draw, which will come up soon. The qualification draw is for nations/players who have not participated in the previous tournaments, and wildcards are for extra players not entered in either draw (since I could only fit 32 in the qualification draw.) I hope that clears it up for you. :)

I'd like to host a tournament too, to prove my hosting skills. Have hosted some things before, but this would be nice to do too! I probably would not be able to scorinate on monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday. Which means that the scorinating days are friday, saturday and sunday.

Tournament Name: Schijnenborg Super Cup
Venue: Schijnenborg Tennis Center, Beign, Chenkorya
Court Type: Hard
Players: Men and Women's Singles
Type: Single Elimination (seeding)
Entries: 64 Men, 64 Women (Top 64 of the rankings will be allowed to participate. When there aren't 64 players unranked countries will be allowed to participate too.)
Scorinator: xkoranate
RP Bonus: ~35%
Start Date: Any date that fits in the time scheme.
Days will scorinate: Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays

Hope this will be accepted (:

Well I'd like to thank everyone who participated in the Voralberg Masters Cup. I enjoyed RPing myself, and getting some more experience within NS Sports hosting.

As for the bids above, I'm glad that other nations have found interest in hosting a tournament. Both Chenkorya's and Beldonia's applications for tournaments look great, and I think that we should have another tournament starting in 3-4 weeks time, depending on whenever the host is available to start. Bergnovinaia has stated that he will contact Civil Citizenry about your bids, and let's hope he's gotten a response (or will respond, below, haha.) If not, I'm sure Bergnovinaia and I, as members of the Executive Committee, can allow for another tournament to start.

I would first like to make it known that there was an error made in the Voralberg Masters Cup. Lucy Bertigon was advanced from the qualifying to the main draw, despite having lost to Carla Minova; Minova should have been the one to advance. As a result, Bertigon will not receive points for her main draw results, and will receive the regular number of points that anyone who lost in the qualifying receives (0); but her record will reflect all matches played in the qualifying and main draw.

As well, several name changes have been made, all to Citiz players: Aned Hame is now Alfred Hamilton; Tasez Bilisar is now Tate Birch; Wankameha Zuzalilio is now Fabrice Wallace; Pelement Ritarg is now Pelham Ripleigh; Ihihir Kavevon is now Ivy Kelson; Yutajur Onufi is now Yetta Buford; Dutinge Emimil is now Deanna Emmett; Chunila Fanara is now Chelsea Farnell; Selleze Amute is now Sealey Armstrong; Edetal Baniped is now Edison Bancroft; Nayolip Cuzallaw is now Nayland Colver; Qetepu Qyerexa is now Rochester York; Ituhalol Saminal is now Hayley Sanders; and Rumana Tijelho is now Rosalina Ventura.

I have also combed through the rankings and specified which players come from nations that have ceased to exist or have ceased participation with the ITA. In future tournaments, players marked with a star (*) or arrow (^) may not be allowed to participate.

Perhaps most importantly, I have added a section called "xkorrank" to each set of rankings. This is the number that should be inputted into xkoranate if/when it is used, under the section "Skill" when looking at the Tennis event screen. The maximum skill must be changed to the highest xkorrank for the event at the time. For example, in men's singles, number one Stanley Charles currently has an xkorrank of 5.76; that must be the maximum skill for the men's singles event of the next tournament.

Perhaps even more important is the future of the International Tennis Association. I have something big in the works - a structured season that will last for about ten weeks. This is decidedly better than approving tournaments willy-nilly. I will not endeavor to host every tournament; other nations may bid to host certain tournaments. I know things have moved extremely slowly in the past, but be prepared for some new things over the next couple days. No pending bids will be accepted, though this certainly does not limit the applying nations from doing so again when the first full season begins.

Till then, enjoy some updated rankings:

Remember that "something big in the works"? Here it is. This is now the general ITA discussion thread, rather than a signup thread. There is no need to confirm your nation's entries on that thread, but if you'd like to make changes to your entries you may do so. More importantly, please bid to host tournaments for whenever is available (particularly in the first few weeks). I want to make sure the ITA begins on November 14!

The first-ever ITA grand slam is now over! Congrats to the winners, and commiserations to those who fell short.

Overall, the ITA S1 seems to be running pretty smoothly. I've delved into the International Tennis Association NSwiki page and updated the whole thing, including some neat tables and whatnot. Needs some fine-tuning, but I'm not terribly worried about that just yet.

Also, if anyone's interested in hosting a tournament (particularly the next grand slam in a couple weeks), please do not hesitate to give it a go. And please do not forget to RP!

So far I would like to thank all the hosts of these past tournaments for their effort. I've really enjoyed RPing and developing my players. Thanks for running these tournaments, it's been great so far. Big thanks to Civil Citizenry for his hard work in the tournaments he has ran, especially with the Grand Slam. I appreciate the time you've taken out to make sure the ITA goes smoothly while doing many other tasks.

I'm posting here also to ask how we can improve the level of RP. So far it's been extremely low, and I ask whether it is from the lack of interest in tennis or it is because the past month has really been vacation time for most people, and that they are unable to put any time into RPing.

Does anyone have any ideas how to get more people to start RPing? Too much work goes into these tournaments, and little is given back in return. I would like to make sure that the host's effort is worth the time he has put in.

Signups are open for the Pacitalian Open Championship:

viewtopic.php?f=7&t=163246

I don't presume to say this is an ITA-sanctioned event, as it is not currently, but ITA players are of course welcome to participate and seeds for the tournament are based on ITA rankings. Just wanted to give everyone participating in ITA events the heads-up about the Pacitalian tournament and figured this was the best place to do so.

Rather than attempting to restart the ITA, I've decided to host a domestic tennis tour called the Citiz Championship Circuit. The CCC is asking all nations to send players to join the first nationwide tour (think of it like the PGA Tour IRL). This tour will be multigender, so each nation is allowed to send two men and two women. There will be one tournament scorinated every four days for a month to a month-and-a-half (full schedule to be worked out later).

Please post your players here rather than my domestic sports thread, where I will be posting scores. Please include the players' names, ages, and any information about them I should know (e.g. certain players better than others - I will make sure to favor players you specifically point out). I will encourage RPing throughout this tour, to try to get people interested in tennis on a more regular basis. Though much of the tour will consist of Citiz, I'd love to have as many international participants as possible, so it can be fun for everyone. Thanks!

Cotdelapomais(e) tennis players:

Pascale Martin, 21 (F): The star of tennis in Cotdelapoms, and a player that Cotdelapomais TV could do well to present because of her attention to fashion and her relation to former Prime Minister Françoise Martin. She is very good, and ideally she should do better than the other three (who can all be crap for all I care. :-))

Marie-Josée Giroux, 36 (F): Has played tennis professionally all around for years, and still has talent, but likely won't do all that well on the tour. She's a great interview, but will probably not have many opportunities to talk with all of her first round eliminations.

Joakim Picard, 27 (M): Powerful serve, little else of note. Could probably make for some good TV by trading serves with another big hitter, but shouldn't win much.

Andrew Lamoureux, 24 (M): Male heart-throb, likely makes the tour more on marketability than on actual tennis talent. It might be in the best interest of the tour to find situations wherein he can take off his shirt after losing to make the teenage girls watch tennis.

Thatius will send four players to participate in the Citiz Championship Circuit.

Men:

1. Novak Dlouhý - Age 19 - Even at nineteen years old, Novak is considered a veteran in tennis. He accomplished tournament wins like the Ballyfeeaknock Open and Voralberg Masters Cup, and managed deep runs at the Citiz Open, Rumiatzi Open, and Internazionali Open, thus earning a Top 3 Rank in the ITA. He dominates the baseline with his forehands, but also likes to mix it up with a bit of serve and volley. Overall, he's a solid player who wants to prepare himself for this upcoming Olympics by playing other players from around the world. He hopes to better his game which might allow him to make a medal-run at the next Olympic Games.

2. Rob Djokić - Age 18 - Awarded the newcomer of the year earlier this month by the Thatian Tennis Association, Rob has been one the best up-and-coming athletes in Thatius. With his killer backhand up-the-line and overall consistency all around the court, he has already made an impact on Thatian tennis by winning several of the nation's premier tournaments.

Women:

1. Vittoria Panaro - Age 23 - Formerly known as Vittoria Lambadorey until she married Thaitan Actor Marco Panaro, Vittoria Panaro has been in the spotlight of Thatian Tennis for years. She still holds the top ranked position, and has become an icon back home. With her powerful serve and groundstrokes, she tends to dominate the baseline and forces her opponents to come up with shots in order to win rallies. She looks forward to competing internationally after a break from the ITA and in preparation for the upcoming Olympics.

2. Ana Volandić - Age 17 - At 6'5, Ana is one of the tallest players on the Thatian tour, and with that, she has a deadly serve. She is able to provide just enough kick to it to make her opponents have to jump when returning, and her forehand isn't bad either. She, just like Rob Djokić, was voted as Newcomer of the Year, after she blasted her way through to win the Thatian Juniors and made a run to the Semifinals of the Women's Tournament. This will be the first time that Ana has competed internationally, and she looks forward to being challenged on a whole new level to improve her tennis game.

Side note: Really, I want all my players to succeed, but if I had to pick two players to favor, it would be Rob and Novak, if that is somehow possible. If not, then just Rob and Vittoria if you need one male and one female.
