Whatever you want. However, the Seasogs Championship is Union, although League teams have been allowed to compete before, but using union rules. So most of the Leagues you sea here are going to be Union.

Thanks Darmen. I'm going to make my comp union so I can fit in. How many teams can I have in the Seasogs for now?

Each nation is allowed four teams, while multi-national leagues are allowed six.

The West Zirconian Rugby Union Championship has proved over the seasons to be somewhat unpredictable. And quite rightly, some would say - after all, who wants a single dominant team? Apart, of course, from the fans of that team. Newcomers like Darrington have showed that it is possible to sustain form in the league, while other newcomers like Rothwell Trinity have showed that the opposite is also true.

But what of this season? Can Darrington go one further? Can fallen giants Bradley and Elwell come back into contention? Are Buckby going to achieve anything other than mid-table mediocrity?

Once again, it proved to be an extremely even contest, with no team or group of teams breaking away from the rest. At half-way, there were only thirteen points separating Bradley and Elwell (in first place) and Stanley Park (in last). At no point were the top four separated by more than two points.

Soon, however, three teams did begin to break away - Bradley and Elwell, Snaith Marlins and Moorcroft. Even so, they couldn't break free entirely, and were joined by the normally-nondescript Buckby. The Buckby challenge, however, faded before the end, and they were left fighting it out with Oakley for the fourth Seasogs Championship place.

Going into the final match, Moorcroft were in the lead, a point ahead of Snaith Marlins who, in turn, were a point ahead of Bradley and Elwell. Moorcroft were at home to Mort Park, who have been disappointing these past couple of seasons and were only kept off the foot of the table by last season's champions Redwood. Snaith Marlins had arguably the hardest game of the three, away at Seasogs-chasing Oakley, while Bradley and Elwell faced Currie Celtic, a team with nothing to play for.

The final results were:

Currie Celtic 20-27 Bradley and Elwell
Moorcroft 39-17 Mort Park
Oakley 10-13 Snaith Marlins

which kept the top three unchanged, and gave Moorcroft the title. Buckby's victory over Flockton Flavell gave them the final Seasogs place.

1092 Tynealan Unification League

The Tynealan Unification League is the top level of rugby union competition in the Celtic Union of Tyneala (ie: Aels and Ancharmunn). As the only four professional rugby union clubs in Ancharmunn the provincial sides of Dyary, Machairster and Slievester along with the side representing the capital city Ballyfeeaknock will remain constants in the league. The two lowest placed Aelsh sides however are relegated to the Aelsh Rugby Union Premier League. At the top end of the table the top three clubs qualify for the championship playoffs, with the first placed team qualifying directly for the final and having home advantage for that match. The second placed team hosts the third placed team in the semi-final with the winner progressing to the final.

Notice:

Image

I made the last deadline completely arbitrarily as I worked towards the last one, and had no idea when I set it that it would be right plum in the middle of the run-up to my portfolio hand-in. Thus: Entrance is still open and will remain open for the fifth edition of the RUCT Seasogs Championship, with the deadline re-set to MIDDAY (British Summertime) on FRIDAY 25th MAY. I am attending a wedding that weekend, but should be able to fit in the edition before I go away. As such this extension means you have plenty of time to finish submitted, and the deadline when it does slam shut, will be prompt and final.

EDIT: With thanks to Ancharmunn for reminding me of this commitment I had previously made, and apologies to anyone that had been rushing to meet the deadline.

Though the historic rugby center of South Califas is San Diego, and most preexisting teams were from that area, the common 10-team format of rugby union was exceptionally convenient for the federation to represent each of the Ten Counties with a team. This development led to several counties heavily recruiting San Diegans with experience in the sport, and a resultant small-scale rugby exodus from the region.

A few notes on procedure:
With 60 teams submitted from 15 leagues, including a total of 10 from 4 leagues making their debut in the tournament, a preliminary round was required as well as a qualification round. Reigning champions New Sydney Waratahs were awarded a bye to the Group Stage, along with the winners of the other ten leagues that had previously submitted teams. All the qualifiers from the debut leagues were place into the preliminary round, randomly drawn against a side from a different nation, leaving seven winners to join the other teams without byes in the qualifying round. The 21 winners of this round joined the 11 byes in the group stage. For the Group Stage, teams were seeded by rank, and then drawn, with no two teams from the same league permitted in the same group.

The draw for the Round of Sixteen was drawn randomly so every runner-up played a group winner, with no two teams from the same association permitted to play each other. The remaining rounds were drawn randomly.

Congratulations to Darmen City Wasps, who win the Seasogs Championship in a year full, and I mean absolutely chock full, of upsets. Who saw Nattas winning their group? And as a side note, for the third season running it is the team that puts out the defending champions that claims the trophy at the end of the season. Let's hope that the next edition is just as exciting, as we see the steady rise of Tynealan and Saugeaise clubs, as well as a decline in Polarian quality? Have the spiritual hosts of the tournament blown their chances?

Entrance is now open for the sixth edition of the RUCT Seasogs Championship, look for an update/confirmation later on, but the deadline is provisionally set to MIDDAY (BST) on SATURDAY 30th JUNE.

Updated ranks to follow when I get back from a wedding (not mine) this weekend.

Bah, missed the cutoff

CRA Season IV

A slight tweak to the league format was made: The winners of the three premierships will now compete in the Playoffs, which will be a 12-team affair. The best-placed playoff team not already qualified will enter the Seasogs, and the Playoff Champions will be given the Minor Premiership.

Now, without further ado, Season 4 of the CRA is upon us!

The closest CRA Premiership yet sees the Gold decided on point differential. Vonto becomes the first CRA team to repeat a Gold Premiership, as they hold off Anging RFC on the final matchday. Also decided on Matchday 54 was the Bronze Premiership, which went to suprise of the season Shihn'Dohm Lords, who finshed twelfth last time around. Sporting Elcahnd missed out on a Seasogs spot, but they do have a bye in the Playoffs. River take the wooden spoon for the second time around.

The Playoffs are single-leg, at the higher-ranked team, until the Final at Carmadin Park

As surprisingly deep as the Angelenos from our humble first-year league went in the Seasogs, they really didn't find the try line much. In eight games, they scored just 45 points, while conceding 95. In a way, the River Rats fared better for missing the brutal beating L.A. got in the group stage: 20-35. After a wild first year, what direction will the union take next?

If you're looking for what's normal, it's not me :p

In all seriousness, though, 54 is just my league's double-round-robin number. It probably isn't right...
