Highlight: Capivara FC - Real Jabuti. A dominant performance for the most supported team in the country.
Best Moment: Strikers Jack Spearow and Pehrna Depal notch one beautiful goal each for Saci SC and SC Derrota to keep as joint top goalscorers of First Division. Depal's was a 30-yard first touch screamer and Spearow scored his after intercepting a slow pass in the Chapeleta defense.

Highlight: Morto Clube's slow-and-steady style puts a dominating performance against a chaotic Pinel.
Best Moment: Esperança Tetraplégica is glad they hired Luca from Vila Xurupita last season, as the little rascal got the brace that enabled them to edge past ET Discos.
Worst Moment: Capivara Group international Zaroio fails to score in the goal mouth and squanders Toupeira FC's chance at three points against Patético Balangandense.

20 Tabajara FC 20 3 3 14 16 43 −27 12

Highlight: Las Marías-Acre, an exciting match (in more ways than one), with lots of goals and plenty of entertainment.
Best Moment: Thousands of supporters of Cones da Prefeitura, dressed in reflective paint clothing, put up a beautiful display during the match against Tabajara.
Worst Moment: After seeming like they could pick up the pace in the first matches, Tabajara FC hasn't won a single other confrontation, and plummets down to last place again.

The MegOil Imperium Stadium is located on the outskirts of Napoliroma, Tarrentum, Tarrentum. The field's primary use is to host baseball games for the Napoliroma Legion (IBL) and Napoliroma Battalion (ANML). However it has been converted into a football stadium for matches between the TPFL's Napoliroma Legion and Krozuy Academics as well as hosting some collegiate football matches. The newly rebuilt stadium seats 40,000 comfortably in it's football configuration.

Sorthern Football League – 2052 season, part one

The period between the 2051 and 2052 football seasons in Sorthern Northland has seen a so called 'Winter of Discontent'. With protests against the escalation of the military's role on those in power growing by the day, large sections of Sorthern society have at one time or another been grounded to a halt by mass strike action. Football hasn't been excluded from these events, and as such whilst the national team has been able to go about it's business as usual the domestic game has been largely disrupted. All competitions below the Sorthern Football League First Division have been cancelled whilst the First Division has been shorted to a nineteen game season with teams playing each other just once. There will also be no relegation at the end of the season.

This will obviously have an effect on Sorthern entrants into the interassociational tournaments. The Champions’ Cup places shall be awarded as usual to the teams finishing first and second in the First Division (plus Beningrad as holders should they finish in third place or below). The Globe Cup place normally reserved for the SNFA Cup winners shall instead be determined by league performance and the top three non-Champions’ Cup qualifying teams shall qualify for the Globe Cup. With no Second Division taking place this season Sorthern Northland shall enter no teams into the Series B Champions’ Cup. The cancellation of the SNFA Cup also means Sorthern Northland shall enter no team in the Cup Winners [Cygnus] Cup, excepting Rode Ster Amsterdam taking their place in the tournament as defending champions.

Right, and with that all out the way let's get on with the football shall we?

Matchday one

The abridging of the season means that every match in that little bit more important, and that teams hoping to be in the fight for the championship can afford bad days at the office less than usual. Snowspire, seen as the most likely to wrest the title from Beningrad therefore couldn't have got off to much worse a start than a 4-1 defeat at Areck Furness. Sparrowbottom are also seen as potential champions, albeit as a dark horse. Their chances however have also already been hurt by an An Blascaod Mór side keen to get points on the board early in order keep them away from the bottom.

17th of October 3-2 Windlesham Town
An Blascaod Mór 1-0 Sparrowbottom Athletic
Areck Furness 4-1 Snowspire Communal
Baile an Fheirtéaraigh 0-0 Red Star Cork
Beningrad 4-1 New Ireland
Castrograd 4-1 Marx-Stadt
CF Septentrionien 1-2 James Connolly SC
Corcaigh 2-0 Heathfield United
East Reading 1-1 Floriana RMI
Juahzhou 1-1 Felland Marsh

Matchday two

It may yet be early days, but Snowspire already look to have turned a molehill into a mountain. Last weeks defeat they could at least use the excuse of playing away, this week they had no such fallback with Windlesham Town being in fine form as they departed the Whitecliff Stadium with three goals and points gladly in tow. In the first match between favourites James Connolly seized the early advantage with goals from Jimmy Moynihan and Tadgh Ó hEicnig seeing off Beningrad.

Sparrowbottom Athletic 0-4 17th of October
Snowspire Communal 0-3 Windlesham Town
Red Star Cork 5-1 An Blascaod Mór
New Ireland 1-1 Areck Furness
Marx-Stadt 0-0 Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
James Connolly SC 2-0 Beningrad
Heathfield United 0-1 Castrograd
Floriana RMI 2-0 CF Septentrionien
Felland Marsh 1-2 Corcaigh
Juahzhou 1-1 East Reading

Matchday three

It has been more than a decade since 17th of October last finished in the top three. Currently though they are one of two teams left with a perfect record (Castrograd being the other, in another blast from the past) but a six goal thrashing of Snowspire certainly announces them as contenders, whilst also surely eliminating Snowspire from the championship battle. Indeed at this stage it looks like the lack of relegation could be Snowspire's only saving grace this season. Young Keiran Stephens also made a name for himself by scoring a hat-trick for 17th of October on his début.

17th of October 6-0 Snowspire Communal
Sparrowbottom Athletic 0-1 Red Star Cork
Windlesham Town 0-0 New Ireland
An Blascaod Mór 1-4 Marx-Stadt
Areck Furness 1-1 James Connolly SC
Baile an Fheirtéaraigh 0-2 Heathfield United
Beningrad 0-2 Floriana RMI
Castrograd 4-1 Felland Marsh
CF Septentrionien 3-2 Juahzhou
Corcaigh 0-1 East Reading

Matchday four

Extraordinary scenes this week as Snowspire and Sparrowbottom both claimed to have uncovered a plot against themselves. Given that neither side had managed even a draw over the first three matches one might think this as merely sour grapes. That the SNFA though has elected to provisionally suspend the referees who took charge of Snowspire and Sparrowbottom's opening three matches has only added fuel to the fire.

That and that the two clubs both picked up their first wins of the season, ironically thanks mainly to some very questionable refereeing.

Red Star Cork 4-1 17th of October
New Ireland 0-2 Snowspire Communal
Marx-Stadt 0-1 Sparrowbottom Athletic
James Connolly SC 1-0 Windlesham Town
Heathfield United 0-1 An Blascaod Mór
Floriana RMI 1-0 Areck Furness
Felland Marsh 1-1 Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
Juahzhou 1-1 Beningrad
East Reading 2-2 Castrograd
Corcaigh 0-4 CF Septentrionien

Matchday five

With seven championships to their name, Corcaigh are no strangers to sitting at the top of the table. Their defeat to Beningrad (themselves not enjoying the best of starts) leaves them languishing in thirteenth place with the glory currently going to city neighbours/local rival/little brothers Red Star Cork. Sticking six past Marx-Stadt they certainly appear to be enjoying their present status at the top of the table whilst also being quaintly aware of their place, manager James Maguire saying, “It's fantastic to be top. Certainly we'll be going into each game trying to stay here and as long as the big teams carry on underperforming we have a chance. The reality is though that we're overachieving at the moment and we probably won't stay here for evermore so let's enjoy it while we're here.”

No doubt Corcaigh's under pressure Liam de Mórdha would have a slightly different take.

17th of October 1-1 New Ireland
Red Star Cork 6-1 Marx-Stadt
Snowspire Communal 1-1 James Connolly SC
Sparrowbottom Athletic 4-0 Heathfield United
Windlesham Town 1-0 Floriana RMI
An Blascaod Mór 0-3 Felland Marsh
Areck Furness 0-0 Juahzhou
Baile an Fheirtéaraigh 1-0 East Reading
Beningrad 3-1 Corcaigh
Castrograd 2-2 CF Septentrionien

And at the just over quarter-way mark here's the table:

....Team P W D L For Ag +/- Pts
1 Red Star Cork 5 4 1 0 16 3 +13 13
2 Castrograd 5 3 2 0 13 6 +7 11

Leaders APOEL stunned by lowly Alki
By Nemanja Bjedov

Alki beat APOEL 2-1

ALKI coach Itzhak Shum was delighted with his side’s 2-1 victory over league leaders APOEL on Sunday at the Antonis Papadopoulos stadium in Larnaca.

“This is a very good night for everyone within the club because we were able to win. Not only did we take the three points but we beat APOEL who are a very big team,” he said.

“My team played some great football and although we had many players missing, we managed to win.

“When they all return to the squad we will show what we are really capable of as, in my opinion, we belong among the top six teams in this league.

Now, we must forget this game and approach the next one with exactly the same levels of seriousness,” Shum added.

For beaten APOEL, coach Ivan Jovanovic couldn’t hide his disappointment at the post-match press conference.

“The unwritten laws of football clearly state that when you do not convert your chances you could lose,” he said.

“Two consecutive defeats at this point of the season generate an immense concern for us. We must try to correct some things in our systems, but we are still looking to achieve our pre-set objectives,” he added.

“Again, the criticism directed towards us is a bit over-the top however, we are still the league leaders and pretty much everything is still in our hands,” concluded Jovanovic.

Sinisa Dobrasinovic put the hosts ahead with a second minute penalty, while Boban Grncarov leveled the scores ten minutes into the second half.

Despite having the initiative, the visitors could not find the net for a second time and it was Antonio Semedo who set up the final score against the run of play to bring the Larnaca side an unlikely victory.

Elsewhere, Anorthosis recorded their third consecutive victory after a 2-1 win over AEP Paphos at the Paphiako stadium.

Vincent Laban and Mark Fotheringham both scored for the visitors in the first half, while Portuguese international Bernardo Vasconcelos pulled one back for the hosts in the second.

AEK and Apollon Limassol meanwhile both failed to take advantage of their opportunities to cut the deficit to APOEL as they could only manage home draws against AEL Limassol and Ermis Aradippou. At the GSZ stadium it was 1-1, while there were no goals at the Tsirion stadium.

“We decided to play without a classic striker but rather with two attacking midfielders and although we had plenty of good final passes, we clearly lacked a player to finish the chances off in front of goal,” AEK coach Ton Caanen said afterwards.

Doxa Katokopia topped APOP Kinyras Peyias 4-3, while Olympiakos Nicosia celebrated against Ethnikos in Achna 1-0.

In the final game of Round 22, Omonia hosted Enosis Neon Paralimni at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia last night.

Can Battle ever be stopped?

It was a massacre. No one, not a single Zarblese club was able to even see what the hell was the red an white blur that passed by, through and on them. But we were. It was Battle.

The Red Stripes started the season poorly, losing the Kampis Batalidis' National Championship to Bloodthirsty Killers, even though the first was widely considered the only true favourite for winning about everything in the tenth edition of the league. But it was just that. Battle then won the International Cup and went on for an easy win over the Duke League Crown, finishing XX points ahead of Romans, the runner-up, who didn't end with a bad deal itself, once, since Battle won both titles, Romans qualified for the TQCC without having do dispute the spot with anyone.

Now, we saw some real emotion in the dispute for the 3rd place, with the two clubs with the largest number of supporters, Cannibals and Billiard, fighting with each other and with Cross SC. The results? Cross's best campaign of all times, ending third, followed by the two major powers.

In the bottom end of the table, Warriors -- wait, what? Did you say Warriors? As in DL-III winners and last year's runner-up Warriors? -- Yes, I did. Warriors ended the season only 1 point ahead of Morphologic, the first in the relegation list. A tough life for the blue stripes, not so tough for three of the clubs that ascended from the ML last year and managed to stay in the the DL for another season: Lichen and Revolutionaries and Zug-Zug. And joining Morphologic in the next ML will be Drooler, TFC and Lunar.

The big news of the Marquiss League are the ascension of Xegei and Brilliant, two traditional medium size clubs that return for the top 20 after a while. Nice to see you all again, folks.

SEASON EIGHT: PART ONE

Emberton Reds are the reigning champions, Avidia United are improving year-on-year, and Iskara Daii will be keeping Starblaydi interest up. Add an impressive-looking Northwood team and the dangerous dark horses, chuck in Ousevale and Mercia (maybe last season was a blip?) and top off with the cherry of a fifth Champions' Cup spot, and you surely have the recipe for the most exciting season of the Liga Calania yet (serves twenty; best before Matchday 38).

So let's spoon off the frosting and tuck in.

MATCHDAY 1
The season begins, of course, with the champions' opener; this year, it's newly-promoted Jhanna City off to the Isserson. The new boys are brave but found wanting, and it's three points in the bag for the Reds.

Topping the table at the end of the weekend, though, is Kepayan (albeit only on goals scored). Their 5-1 humping of Likas slightly bests Iskara Daii's 4-0 battering of Copa Calania holders Tabeck.

Results
Ousevale Borough 3-0 Inanam
Corinthian Spirits 3-1 Stanton Town
Emberton Reds 2-1 Jhanna City
Foxchester Raiders 0-1 New Cefn Albion
Mercia Bromham 4-1 Casuals Osteria
Avidia United 2-0 Cedrus Soundgardia
Royal Emberton 0-3 RCSC Northwood
Tabeck FC 0-4 Iskara Daii
Telecontarë 1-0 Sembulan
Kepayan 5-1 Likas

MATCHDAY 2
Two games in, and there's one team in the whole division that's managed two wins on the trot. That team is Corinthian Spirits, who open up a two-point lead with just thirty-six games to go. Emberton Reds slip to twelfth with defeat to Osteria, whilst the place to be was New Soundgardia, where Cedrus were just on the wrong side of a nine-goal thriller.

Results
Stanton Town 2-1 Ousevale Borough
Jhanna City 3-1 Inanam
New Cefn Albion 1-2 Corinthian Spirits
Casuals Osteria 1-0 Emberton Reds
Cedrus Soundgardia 4-5 Foxchester Raiders
RCSC Northwood 1-1 Mercia Bromham
Iskara Daii 1-1 Avidia United
Sembulan 1-2 Royal Emberton
Likas 1-1 Tabeck FC
Kepayan 1-1 Telecontarë

MATCHDAY 3
Corinth are downed by Cedrus, and it's back to the top for Kepayan, who thrash the Royals. Avidia United join them on seven points after a win over Likas, whilst Sembulan's draw with Mercia Bromham leaves new boys Inanam as the only team on zero points.

Results
Ousevale Borough 4-1 Jhanna City
Stanton Town 0-1 New Cefn Albion
Inanam 0-2 Casuals Osteria
Corinthian Spirits 0-1 Cedrus Soundgardia
Emberton Reds 2-0 RCSC Northwood
Foxchester Raiders 1-1 Iskara Daii
Mercia Bromham 2-2 Sembulan
Avidia United 1-0 Likas
Royal Emberton 1-4 Kepayan
Tabeck FC 3-1 Telecontarë

MATCHDAY 4
Poor Corinthian Spirits. They had no idea what hit them at Foundation Road, as the Daii hit them for seven. Avidia beat the elves, and go a point clear as Kepayan draw with Mercia Bromham, dropping to fifth in the process.

Results
New Cefn Albion 1-1 Ousevale Borough
Casuals Osteria 2-0 Jhanna City
Cedrus Soundgardia 0-0 Stanton Town
RCSC Northwood 1-0 Inanam
Iskara Daii 7-0 Corinthian Spirits
Sembulan 0-1 Emberton Reds
Likas 2-1 Foxchester Raiders
Kepayan 2-2 Mercia Bromham
Telecontarë 1-2 Avidia United
Tabeck FC 0-0 Royal Emberton

MATCHDAY 5
Iskara, Avidia, and Kepayan all maintain their unbeaten records; none, however, top the table. That accolade goes to surprise package Casuals Osteria; the Miners defeating Ousevale at the Southern Arena to make it four wins in five.

Results
Ousevale Borough 2-4 Casuals Osteria
New Cefn Albion 3-0 Cedrus Soundgardia
Jhanna City 0-2 RCSC Northwood
Stanton Town 0-1 Iskara Daii
Inanam 0-2 Sembulan
Corinthian Spirits 3-1 Likas
Emberton Reds 1-1 Kepayan
Foxchester Raiders 1-3 Telecontarë
Mercia Bromham 1-1 Tabeck FC
Avidia United 4-4 Royal Emberton

MATCHDAY 6
Casuals' lead at the top is short-lived, as a draw with Northwood allows both Iskara Daii and Avidia United to overtake them, with comfortable wins over New Cefn and Mercia Bromham respectively. Inanam are still waiting for their first point, meanwhile, and did not look even close to winning one against Kepayan.

Results
Cedrus Soundgardia 3-4 Ousevale Borough
RCSC Northwood 1-1 Casuals Osteria
Iskara Daii 3-0 New Cefn Albion
Sembulan 1-0 Jhanna City
Likas 2-1 Stanton Town
Kepayan 4-0 Inanam
Telecontarë 3-2 Corinthian Spirits
Tabeck FC 1-2 Emberton Reds
Royal Emberton 2-4 Foxchester Raiders
Avidia United 3-0 Mercia Bromham

MATCHDAY 7
Avidia lose their unbeaten streak, thanks to a valiant defeat at the Isserson, whilst the Daii stay top with a win over Cedrus. At the other end, Jhanna City were on the receiving end of a barrage of Kepayan goals, but are at least ahead of still-pointless Inanam, who at least managed to score this week.

MATCHDAY 8
It's "Draws Week" at the top, as the Daii (against Ousevale), Kepayan and Casuals (against each other, and Emberton (away to Foxchester) all picked up a solitary point; Avidia fold themselves back into the pack with a win against - who else? - Inanam.

Likas 0-1 Cedrus Soundgardia
Kepayan 0-0 Casuals Osteria

MATCHDAY 9
It's all nice and tight at the top. Whilst Iskara demolished Likas, Avidia were busy dismantling JCFC, whilst Emberton's 5-1 win over Corinth puts them above Casuals (who also won) on goal difference.

Gaining the inevitable three points from Inanam this week, meanwhile, is Foxchester.

MATCHDAY 10
A bit of stretching at the top, but in a nice serendipity, one-point gaps all round. Iskara stay top with a win over Telecontarë, whilst Avidia remain second after beating fifth-placed Casuals. Emberton's draw with Stanton, meanwhile, drops them to fourth, one point behind Kepayan.

SEASON EIGHT: PART TWO

MATCHDAY 11
It's a miracle! Inanam finally pick up a point, earning a hard-fought draw with fellow relegation battlers Stanton at the Harbour Stadium. At the top end, meanwhile, Avidia United's defeat at Northwood allows Iskara to open up a three-point lead over Emberton Reds, who leapfrog Kepayan and the Eagles into second.

Results
Ousevale Borough 0-0 Kepayan
Likas 0-0 Telecontarë
Sembulan 1-0 Tabeck FC
Iskara Daii 2-1 Royal Emberton
RCSC Northwood 1-0 Avidia United
Cedrus Soundgardia 1-4 Mercia Bromham
Casuals Osteria 3-3 Foxchester Raiders
New Cefn Albion 0-2 Emberton Reds
Jhanna City 0-2 Corinthian Spirits
Stanton Town 1-1 Inanam

MATCHDAY 12
The table's starting to look a lot like last season. Iskara stay top despite losing by the odd goal in five at the Cygnus, but it's only on a sliver of goal difference after the Reds hammer hapless Cedrus. Avidia take advantage of Kepayan's slip against Tabeck to retake third.

Results
Telecontarë 0-2 Ousevale Borough
Tabeck FC 1-0 Kepayan
Royal Emberton 1-1 Likas
Avidia United 1-0 Sembulan
Mercia Bromham 3-2 Iskara Daii
Foxchester Raiders 0-2 RCSC Northwood
Emberton Reds 6-0 Cedrus Soundgardia
Corinthian Spirits 2-2 Casuals Osteria
Inanam 1-2 New Cefn Albion
Stanton Town 2-2 Jhanna City

MATCHDAY 13
The big game, of course, is at Foundation Road, as top face bottom. It's the Starblaydis who come out on top, following last week's 3-2 defeat with a win by the same score. Avidia take the advantage, beating Kepayan to go second, whilst at the bottom...INANAM WIN! It's Cedrus who are the unfortunate victims, and the Jesseltonians hop off the bottom on goal difference, exchanging places with Jhanna City.

Results
Ousevale Borough 1-0 Tabeck FC
Telecontarë 1-5 Royal Emberton
Kepayan 1-3 Avidia United
Likas 1-2 Mercia Bromham
Sembulan 1-1 Foxchester Raiders
Iskara Daii 3-2 Emberton Reds
RCSC Northwood 1-2 Corinthian Spirits
Cedrus Soundgardia 0-1 Inanam
Casuals Osteria 1-0 Stanton Town
New Cefn Albion 2-1 Jhanna City

MATCHDAY 14
That...was inexplicable. Inanam are on a roll, following their win last week with a draw against Iskara Daii; Avidia take the initiative, thumping Tabeck to go top, whilst Jhanna manage only their second win of the season to switch places with Inanam once more.

Results
Royal Emberton 0-0 Ousevale Borough
Avidia United 5-0 Tabeck FC
Mercia Bromham 2-0 Telecontarë
Foxchester Raiders 2-3 Kepayan
Emberton Reds 1-1 Likas
Corinthian Spirits 1-2 Sembulan
Inanam 2-2 Iskara Daii
Stanton Town 0-1 RCSC Northwood
Jhanna City 3-2 Cedrus Soundgardia
New Cefn Albion 0-2 Casuals Osteria

MATCHDAY 15
In the Jhanna derby, Iskara take out their frustrations on Jhanna City with an 8-1 tonking; it's not enough to go top though, as Avidia pull off a fine win away to traditional bogey team Ousevale. Casuals beat Cedrus, meanwhile, to slip almost unnoticed into third spot.

Results
Ousevale Borough 0-3 Avidia United
Royal Emberton 1-1 Mercia Bromham
Tabeck FC 2-1 Foxchester Raiders
Telecontarë 1-1 Emberton Reds
Kepayan 3-1 Corinthian Spirits
Likas 1-1 Inanam
Sembulan 2-0 Stanton Town
Iskara Daii 8-1 Jhanna City
RCSC Northwood 2-0 New Cefn Albion
Cedrus Soundgardia 0-4 Casuals Osteria

MATCHDAY 16
Casuals and the Daii hammer out a draw ath New Coalfields, and Avidia open up a three-point gap with a win over Foxchester. Reds also take advantage, taking third back off the Miners with a win in the Emberton derby.

Mercia's bore draw with Ousevale, meanwhile, is a stark reminder why this is no longer a top of the table clash.

Results
Mercia Bromham 0-0 Ousevale Borough
Foxchester Raiders 1-3 Avidia United
Emberton Reds 3-1 Royal Emberton
Corinthian Spirits 4-1 Tabeck FC
Inanam 0-1 Telecontarë
Stanton Town 1-0 Kepayan
Jhanna City 0-2 Likas
New Cefn Albion 1-2 Sembulan
Casuals Osteria 1-1 Iskara Daii
Cedrus Soundgardia 2-2 RCSC Northwood

MATCHDAY 17
It's a tale of two defeats this week. Iskara's reverse at home to Northwood allows the Eagles to soar (look, we're contractually obliged to get that pun in at least once per season) six points clear at the top; Emberton's loss to Mercia, meanwhile, sees them drop from third to sixth, behind Casuals, Kepayan, and the Midlanders themselves.

Results
Ousevale Borough 3-1 Foxchester Raiders
Mercia Bromham 2-0 Emberton Reds
Avidia United 3-1 Corinthian Spirits
Royal Emberton 2-0 Inanam
Tabeck FC 0-0 Stanton Town
Telecontarë 1-0 Jhanna City
Kepayan 5-1 New Cefn Albion
Likas 0-5 Casuals Osteria
Sembulan 2-2 Cedrus Soundgardia
Iskara Daii 0-1 RCSC Northwood

MATCHDAY 18
No change in the top two; behind that, however...oh boy. Casuals lose to Telecontarë, Mercia draw with whipping-boys Inanam, and it's Kepayan third after their demolition job on Cedrus. Not only that, but Emberton make it two defeats on the bounce at home to Ousevale, and Northwood take sixth spot.

Results
Emberton Reds 1-3 Ousevale Borough
Corinthian Spirits 1-1 Foxchester Raiders
Inanam 1-1 Mercia Bromham
Stanton Town 0-3 Avidia United
Jhanna City 2-2 Royal Emberton
New Cefn Albion 1-1 Tabeck FC
Casuals Osteria 0-1 Telecontarë
Cedrus Soundgardia 2-6 Kepayan
RCSC Northwood 4-1 Likas
Iskara Daii 3-2 Sembulan

MATCHDAY 19
Emberton, Emberton, Emberton. Hang your heads in shame. Inanam get their second win of the season at the Isserson, and Ousevale pull it together to go sixth ahead of Northwood and the now-eighth Reds. Surely the Tigers can't pull off a title charge from here...

...but then can anyone catch United? The Daii lose to Kepayan - who go above them on goal difference - but the men from Avidia open the gap to nine with a close win over New Cefn.

Results
Ousevale Borough 2-0 Corinthian Spirits
Emberton Reds 0-1 Inanam
Foxchester Raiders 2-2 Stanton Town
Mercia Bromham 1-0 Jhanna City
Avidia United 3-2 New Cefn Albion
Royal Emberton 1-0 Casuals Osteria
Tabeck FC 1-1 Cedrus Soundgardia
Telecontarë 3-2 RCSC Northwood
Kepayan 2-0 Iskara Daii
Likas 1-1 Sembulan

SEASON EIGHT: PART THREE

MATCHDAY 20
Speak it quietly, but the "Big Two" may just be on the comeback trail. Mercia annihilated Casuals, and Ousevale carried out a similar salvo upon Inanam - but Avidia's win over Cedrus means they're still ahead by miles.

Results
Inanam 2-6 Ousevale Borough
Stanton Town 3-5 Corinthian Spirits
Jhanna City 1-2 Emberton Reds
New Cefn Albion 0-2 Foxchester Raiders
Casuals Osteria 0-7 Mercia Bromham
Cedrus Soundgardia 1-2 Avidia United
RCSC Northwood 3-1 Royal Emberton
Iskara Daii 5-0 Tabeck FC
Sembulan 2-2 Telecontarë
Likas 2-3 Kepayan

MATCHDAY 21
Iskara strike a blow for everyone in the league who aren't Avidia, beating the league leaders. Kepayan win as well, and both sides are six off the lead. Inanam, meanwhile, rise to the heady heights of eighteenth with a win in the relegation six-pointer against Jhanna City.

Results
Ousevale Borough 3-0 Stanton Town
Inanam 4-0 Jhanna City
Corinthian Spirits 1-2 New Cefn Albion
Emberton Reds 0-0 Casuals Osteria
Foxchester Raiders 3-0 Cedrus Soundgardia
Mercia Bromham 0-0 RCSC Northwood
Avidia United 2-3 Iskara Daii
Royal Emberton 1-0 Sembulan
Tabeck FC 1-1 Likas
Telecontarë 0-2 Kepayan

MATCHDAY 22
Avidia go into full blown Choke Mode™ with a shock 4-1 loss away at Likas; Iskara can't take advantage, but Kepayan do in the game of the week, beating Royal Emberton 6-4(!) to cut the gap to three points. Cedrus' 6-0 reverse against the Spirits makes them officially the worst defence in the league this season. For now, anyway.

Results
Jhanna City 2-2 Ousevale Borough
New Cefn Albion 3-1 Stanton Town
Casuals Osteria 4-2 Inanam
Cedrus Soundgardia 0-6 Corinthian Spirits
RCSC Northwood 1-1 Emberton Reds
Iskara Daii 1-1 Foxchester Raiders
Sembulan 2-2 Mercia Bromham
Likas 4-1 Avidia United
Kepayan 6-4 Royal Emberton
Telecontarë 2-1 Tabeck FC

MATCHDAY 23
On a normal day, Avidia's draw with Telecontarë would be causing concern; this, however, was not a normal day. Kepayan lost, Iskara could only draw, and Avidia actually manage to extend their lead to four points. Inanam and Jhanna City, meanwhile, have suddenly gained some degree of competence, defeating Northwood and Osteria respectively.

Oh, and Mercia and Ousevale are now just six points off the leaders. Hoo boy.

Results
Ousevale Borough 4-0 New Cefn Albion
Jhanna City 3-1 Casuals Osteria
Stanton Town 3-0 Cedrus Soundgardia
Inanam 1-0 RCSC Northwood
Corinthian Spirits 1-1 Iskara Daii
Emberton Reds 0-2 Sembulan
Foxchester Raiders 2-1 Likas
Mercia Bromham 3-1 Kepayan
Avidia United 1-1 Telecontarë
Royal Emberton 2-1 Tabeck FC

MATCHDAY 24
Normal service resumed for the leaders, whilst Iskara teach Stanton a footballing lesson and wrest second place back from the interlopers Kepayan. Mercia's 6-0 whacking of Tabeck sends the Bekksiders to the brink of the red zone.

Results
Casuals Osteria 0-3 Ousevale Borough
Cedrus Soundgardia 2-2 New Cefn Albion
RCSC Northwood 4-0 Jhanna City
Iskara Daii 5-2 Stanton Town
Sembulan 1-0 Inanam
Likas 4-3 Corinthian Spirits
Kepayan 2-2 Emberton Reds
Telecontarë 0-3 Foxchester Raiders
Tabeck FC 0-6 Mercia Bromham
Royal Emberton 1-3 Avidia United

MATCHDAY 25
This just got reeeeeeeal interesting.

First, to the Cygnus Stadium, where Mercia won an entertaining top-end clash against Avidia United, hopping up to third as a result.

Second, to Parc Abertawy, where Iskara Daii snaffled all three points to put themselves a paltry two behind the Eagles.

And finally, there was Inanam's fine win over Kepayan, sending their rivals tumbling to fifth and putting their own sorry selves just four points from Tabeck and safety.

Game. On.

Results
Ousevale Borough 2-0 Cedrus Soundgardia
Casuals Osteria 1-0 RCSC Northwood
New Cefn Albion 1-2 Iskara Daii
Jhanna City 1-4 Sembulan
Stanton Town 3-2 Likas
Inanam 2-1 Kepayan
Corinthian Spirits 1-0 Telecontarë
Emberton Reds 5-0 Tabeck FC
Foxchester Raiders 3-1 Royal Emberton
Mercia Bromham 4-3 Avidia United

MATCHDAY 26
The top five all won this week - Iskara Daii pick of the bunch with a seven-up against Cedrus - so attention turns to the bottom, where Inanam are starting to pile on the points. Not only that, but their win over Tabeck drops the Starblaydis into the bottom four, allowing Stanton to come up for air.

Results
RCSC Northwood 2-5 Ousevale Borough
Iskara Daii 7-0 Cedrus Soundgardia
Sembulan 0-1 Casuals Osteria
Likas 1-0 New Cefn Albion

Telecontarë 0-1 Stanton Town
Tabeck FC 0-2 Inanam
Royal Emberton 0-2 Corinthian Spirits
Avidia United 1-0 Emberton Reds
Mercia Bromham 1-0 Foxchester Raiders

MATCHDAY 27
The big match, of course, was the clash of the titans at the Southern Arena. Iskara Daii struck a blow for the men east of the Beck, a 1-0 win making Ousevale's mountain that bit higher. Avidia, meanwhile, filled their boots to the tune of eight against Inanam, and Mercia kept in touch with a win over Corinth. A rare win, too, for Jhanna City, as Tabeck continue to disappoint. They used to be title contenders, you know.

Results
Ousevale Borough 0-1 Iskara Daii
RCSC Northwood 2-0 Sembulan
Cedrus Soundgardia 3-2 Likas
Casuals Osteria 1-1 Kepayan

Jhanna City 1-0 Tabeck FC
Stanton Town 1-3 Royal Emberton
Inanam 0-8 Avidia United
Corinthian Spirits 1-2 Mercia Bromham
Emberton Reds 4-1 Foxchester Raiders

MATCHDAY 28
Comfortable wins all round for the top four, a narrow one for Kepayan to keep them in fifth, and about the only newsworthy result is Cedrus finding some competence at last to draw with Telecontarë. They're still nineteenth, though.

Results
Sembulan 1-3 Ousevale Borough
Likas 0-3 Iskara Daii
Kepayan 1-0 RCSC Northwood
Telecontarë 0-0 Cedrus Soundgardia
Tabeck FC 0-2 Casuals Osteria
Royal Emberton 2-1 New Cefn Albion
Avidia United 3-1 Jhanna City
Mercia Bromham 3-1 Stanton Town
Foxchester Raiders 1-0 Inanam
Emberton Reds 1-1 Corinthian Spirits

MATCHDAY 29
Mercia lose to New Cefn, allowing Ousevale to pull level with them on points to dispute third place; meanwhile, Avidia United and Iskara Daii try desperately to turn this into a two-horse race with wins.

At the other end, Jhanna City's win over Foxchester puts Cedrus bottom, whilst Inanam are two from safety after a hard-fought 1-1 against Corinth.

Results
Ousevale Borough 2-0 Likas
Sembulan 0-4 Kepayan

Sorthern Football League – 2052 season, part two

Matchday six

The controversy surrounding Snowspire's dire start to the season continues with a chef from the Beningrad hotel patronised by the Snowspire squad prior to their 6-0 mauling at the hands of 17th of October having claimed to have been offered money to attempt to cause an outbreak of food poisoning within the Snowspire squad. Regardless of whether or not Snowspire's first three games were affected by sabotage they appear to have gotten back on form. Now unbeaten in three, a 2-0 away win against Floriana RMI sees their march upwards continue with thirteenth place, three places and a point behind reigning champions Beningrad being their current redidency.

Marx-Stadt 1-1 17th of October
James Connolly SC 2-1 New Ireland
Heathfield United 0-1 Red Star Cork
Floriana RMI 0-2 Snowspire Communal
Felland Marsh 2-2 Sparrowbottom Athletic
Juahzhou 1-1 Windlesham Town
East Reading 2-0 An Blascaod Mór
Corcaigh 3-1 Areck Furness
CF Septentrionien 0-1 Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
Castrograd 1-1 Beningrad

Matchday seven

The Sorthern Football League isn't much fun for the defensive purest at the best of times, and though nil-nil draws between 17th of October and James Connolly and New Ireland and Floriana RMI along with 1-0 wins for Snowspire and Castrograd may have pleased them, the other matches on matchday seven certainly won't have.

Leaders Red Star Cork's 3-1 win at home to Felland Marsh proved to be a relative low scorer with Beningrad, East Reading and Corcaigh all taking maximum points from five goal games, Marx-Stadt keeper Aäron Schmitt was made to pick the ball from his net six times by Heathfield United. The largest source of goals however was An Blascaod Mór's hosting of CF Septentrionien and with both teams seemingly paying absolutely no heed to defensive duties whatsoever a total of ten goals were scored, the three points going to the away side having scored seven times.

17th of October 0-0 James Connolly SC
Marx-Stadt 0-6 Heathfield United
New Ireland 0-0 Floriana RMI
Red Star Cork 3-1 Felland Marsh
Snowspire Communal 1-0 Juahzhou
Sparrowbottom Athletic 1-4 East Reading
Windlesham Town 0-5 Corcaigh
An Blascaod Mór 3-7 CF Septentrionien
Areck Furness 0-1 Castrograd
Baile an Fheirtéaraigh 2-3 Beningrad

Matchday eight
Having looked back on track Snowspire Communal managed to throw away much of their good work of the four matches by rolling over to allow Corcaigh to smash four past them. Whilst manager Eoin Ó Raghallaigh rather meekly tried to claim positives by insisting their consolation goal could prove crucial to goal difference at the end of the season, the fact is that at their current rate a superior goal difference will see them only claim a higher mid-table finish than they otherwise would. Or for a team of their size, a slightly less awful final position.

Heathfield United 1-2 17th of October
Floriana RMI 0-3 James Connolly SC
Felland Marsh 0-3 Marx-Stadt
Juahzhou 2-1 New Ireland
East Reading 0-0 Red Star Cork
Corcaigh 4-1 Snowspire Communal
CF Septentrionien 1-2 Sparrowbottom Athletic
Castrograd 1-0 Windlesham Town
Beningrad 2-0 An Blascaod Mór
Baile an Fheirtéaraigh 0-1 Areck Furness

Matchday nine

Going into matchday nine there were, rather excitingly, three unbeaten teams remaining. Ninety minutes later and Red Star Cork stand alone with a zero in the losses column. Second place Castrograd fell away to Snowspire Communal, a result which could prove a huge boost to Communal. Having been written off in some quarters (let's not get specific about the exact whereabouts of those quarters) it is exactly a win which could just provide the shot of confidence to belatedly kickstart a season. James Connolly were the other undefeated team to fall, their 3-2 home defeat to a Juahzhou side who only got their first win of the season last week being rather less excusable than Castograd's.

17th of October 1-1 Floriana RMI
Heathfield United 3-3 Felland Marsh
James Connolly SC 2-3 Juahzhou
Marx-Stadt 2-3 East Reading
New Ireland 2-2 Corcaigh
Red Star Cork 0-0 CF Septentrionien
Snowspire Communal 1-0 Castrograd
Sparrowbottom Athletic 1-4 Beningrad
Windlesham Town 2-2 Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
An Blascaod Mór 0-2 Areck Furness

Matchday ten

Should you knock one domino down the rest tend to follow, and so it proved for Red Star Cork. Just a week after their two closest challengers fell to their first defeat Red Star followed suit. Losing to the odd goal in seven in an absolute thriller of a match away to Beningrad was some way to let an unbeaten record slip though. Rather intriguingly a defeat for James Connolly at the hands of Corcaigh allowed Beningrad to rise to third, just a point behind Red Star, and whilst James Connolly slip to fifth, they remain only three points off top spot.

A first draw of the season for An Blascaod Mór (albeit an absolute dog's turn of a match) means that New Ireland are now the only team remaining with a zero in either the wins, draws or losses column. Unfortunately for them though is that having zero wins tends to be quite a disadvantage.

Felland Marsh 1-0 17th of October
Juahzhou 1-1 Floriana RMI
East Reading 0-0 Heathfield United
Corcaigh 2-1 James Connolly SC
CF Septentrionien 1-1 Marx-Stadt
Castrograd 2-1 New Ireland
Beningrad 4-3 Red Star Cork
Baile an Fheirtéaraigh 0-3 Snowspire Communal
Areck Furness 1-1 Sparrowbottom Athletic
An Blascaod Mór 0-0 Windlesham Town

And with the halfway mark passed, the standing:

Liventian Professional Football League season 1
The Liventia Football League returned after a significant hiatus rebranded as the Liventian Professional Football League, with the same 64 teams which took part in the last season of the old LFL. The 64 teams will play in four even tiers of 16 teams each, with the top tier being made up of the eight teams from the old First Division, six of the eight teams from the old Second Division, and the two promoted teams from the old Third Division.

The third and fourth tiers are made up of the 32 teams in the old Fourth Division, minus the top two teams from Alpha and Bravo Divisions. Furthermore, no relegation from the old Third Division was implemented.

Each league will operate a three up, three down relegation and promotion system.

A new cup competition was announced, with the top two tiers of 32 teams playing a direct knockout competition for a Cygnus Cup spot, starting with the second season of the new championship.

The league champion automatically qualifies for the TakilQuip Champions’ Cup; the next six teams qualify for a new, expanded 12-team Joint Unified System Tournament with six Ad’ihani clubs.

Tarrentum Premier Football League, 2016 Season (Season 7)

After having varied success in the UICA competitions the past year, TPFL clubs looked forward to a great and productive year. Surprisingly, even though Tarrentum once again moved on from the Group Stage in the World Cup, no major offseason moves were made in the TPFL or TL-A and no major countries came knocking. The Tarrentum Sports Committee has stated that it is their desire to “limit who goes abroad and limit who comes [to Tarrentum],” in an attempt to foster home grown growth of football. These past two years should tell us if the TSC has the sport’s best interest at heart.

Tarrentum had limited penetration in the UICA post-season competitions. One of these days, a TPFL club will be standing on the brink of the Super Cup, and we shall look back on these days and laugh.

This year also saw the promotion of FA Apollonian and Sterro from the Tarrentian League – A to the TPFL. While a bit awkward the first couple of match, the two new clubs made a good impression on the many fans of football in the Valley Nation. Apollonian’s promotion marks the first time in the TPFL’s brief history that two clubs from the same city played against each other. The new rivalry was dubbed “The War of the Apples” and was held with much fanfare during each match between the clubs. The swing game was held during Apolln City’s annual Founding Day celebration.

This year in the TPFL the standings have never looked so good at this stage of the season. While recently promoted Sterro is wallowing in the South Division, last year’s call up Agrobaign is have tremendous success in the North Division against power clubs like Krozuy and Lake Empress. However, in political terms, this year is beginning to look like the “haves” against the “have-nots.”

Noel Gennesse, the “Young Lady of Football,” continued her leadership of FC Yuppers in the South Division and has been impressive in the first 11 matches - scoring 11 of the teams 27 goals. Tre Da La has been on a tear since the season began. Snubbed out of UICA competition last year even though they reach the Premier Cup Consolation match in the TPFL, the Singers are looking for a dominating year to prove they belong among Tarrentum’s best.

Top Scorers TPFL:
  • Henry Qund (RW – Krozuy Academics) 14 goals
  • Noel Gennesse (ST – FC Yuppers) 11 goals

The second third of the regular season saw the amazing lead of Walli Walli FC in the North Division hold firm. No one expected the Dub-ya’s to make this a great year but their 48 Goals For is third in the TPFL. Krozuy and Lake Empress overtook Agrobaign by the end of the 22nd Matchday but don’t expect that lead to last. Agrobaign was plagued by injuries but have some of their key players back on the pitch.

The South Division remained stable with Tre Da La, Napoliroma and FC Yuppers maintaining their 1-2-3 places in the table. Newcomer FA Apollonian has been getting the best of TPFL veteran (and crosstown rival) FC McSquiggie. In the four matches against each other so far, Apollonian controls the series with a 2-0-2 record against McSquiggie. The Hamburgers need divine intervention or they could be facing the unthinkable – relegation.

With the 33rd match played across all divisions and clubs, the TPFL finished up its seventh regular season. The Premier Cup teams were set with five of last year’s six teams returning to The Premier Cup. As expected, FC McSquiggie failed to win a crucial match against Sterro and finished with the second lowest points total in the TPFL, ensuring their relegation status.

Top Scorers TPFL:
  • Henry Qund (RW – Krozuy Academics) 40 goals
  • Darius Cassiro (LF – Napoliroma Legion) 32 goals
  • Noel Gennesse (ST – FC Yuppers) 30 goals
  • Brian Tulo (LF – Tre Da La) 27 goals
  • Sforza Italiana (CM – Tre Da La) 23 goals
  • Hugo Pommo (ST – Agrobaign) 20 goals

With the creation of the Tarrentian League A the TPFL put in place rules for relegation. The Tarrentum Sports Committee (TSC) relegates the two lowest point-attaining clubs to TL-A from the TPFL after regular league play has ended.

This year’s Premier Cup was the most surprising since regular international recognition was bestowed upon the TPFL. Both perennial top clubs – Napoliroma Legion and Krozuy Academics – failed to win their First Round matches. Tre Da La, clear favorites heading into the Cup matches, lost a tough match against the scrappy Yupping Yuppers. FC Yuppers than shocked Tarrentum by upsetting the North’s #1, Walli Walli FC, in a long drawn out match that came down to the 7th set of penalty shots. With their win, the Yuppers became the first club in TPFL history to win the Championship with a female on their squad. It was eventual really, as they were the most competitive club with a female on their squad. What’s more interesting is that the club’s only goal during the match was from Miss Gennesse.

For their participation in the Premier Cup Championship, FC Yuppers and Walli Walli FC received TQCC berths. Agrobaign, Tre Da La and Napoliroma (on account of having the highest point total of remaining Premier Cup qualifiers) received Globe Cup berths. This Globe Cup berth for Napoliroma means that there has not been a UICA competition that the TPFL has participated in where the Legion have not also competed.

Tarrentian League A, 2016 Season (Season 3)

The League is set in the international-standard structure of no divisions so that every club would play another throughout the season. The TL-A held a 24 match schedule starting roughly a month after the TPFL kicked off their seventh season. With the goal of a SBCC berth and promotion to the TPFL on the line, it was some fierce football played on pitches across Tarrentum.

Tarrentian League A saw the recently relegated Grasshoppers from Husoni take the dominant position during the regular season. With the Round Robin playoffs looming, Illian will be joined by two Krozilitian clubs: Galitz FCA (former TPFL club) and the Krozile Miners. Last year’s 3rd best team in the TL-A, Southern, had a dismal showing against so many former TPFL clubs and fell to 6th place.

The champion of the TL-A is the winner of the MegOil Cup Finals – a Round Robin competition between the top three teams of the subdivision. The winner is given the 1st Round Bye in the SBCC, the top two teams are promoted to the TPFL and all teams win entry into the SBCC tournament.

2 Krozile Miners 2 1 0 1 1 2 −1 3
3 Illian Grasshoppers 2 0 1 1 3 4 −1 1

While Galitz FCA won the MegOil Cup, Krozile came out as the clear upset winners. While many think the team will be relegated after only one season in the TPFL, Illian now has to try to explain to their fans why they couldn’t beat Krozile when it mattered the most.

UICA Bids:
TQCC29: FC Yuppers, Walli Walli FC
Globe Cup: Agrobaign, Tre Da La, Napoliroma
SBCC26: Galitz FCA (Prelim Bye), Krozile Miners, Illian Grasshoppers

Season 28

Season 28 of the Ad’ihani football league saw yet another reshuffle in the league system, with the top flight expanding to 20 teams for the first time. Fifty clubs remain in the league system, 32 of which are professional Ad’ihani clubs and the remaining 18 B clubs of Ad’ihani or foreign teams. The AFF stopped awarding both the Challenge Trophy and Silver Plate this season, leaving just five AFF-accredited tournaments: the three league divisions, the League Cup contested by the 32 local teams, and the Second Team Trophy, contested by the remaining 18 teams.

The league champions automatically qualify for the TakilQuip Champions’ Cup, with the second placed team guaranteed at least a Globe Cup berth. Teams placing 2nd to 7th in the Major League qualify for the Joint Unified System Tournament for a chance at a TQCC or GC berth. If the team finishing second in the Major League qualifies for the TQCC through the JUST, their GC place is forfeited; otherwise, even if they would otherwise fail to qualify for the GC through JUST, they are guaranteed the top Ad’ihani seed position in the Globe Cup.

Ad’ihan retains four SBCC places, to be entered by the top four teams in the Prime League. This is a change from the old system, where the Prime League only had three SBCC places with the last place being given to the top promoted team from the Minor League. The AFF will also send a team to the Cygnus Cup for the first time, with the League Cup winners entering that tournament unless already in TQCC or GC play, in which case the slot is vacated.

The top flight loses three teams to the Prime League and the Prime League relegates two teams to the Minor League each season.

After 25 seasons, the University League Championship has folded. The university teams still exist and still play a non-competitive schedule but no longer play in an organised league due to the lack of a global championship to replace the IUCC.

Ad’ihan/Liventia Joint Unified System Tournament
Season 6

With both the Ad’ihani and Liventian leagues now back up and running, the Joint Unified System Tournament returned to its traditional single-round-robin format for season 6, but expanded to 12 teams from the 10 in JUST season 4. The only other minor change was the AFF's new policy that its second-placed league finisher would be guaranteed at least a Globe Cup spot, regardless of JUST results.

There is no change to the JUST qualification system otherwise, with the top two teams in JUST guaranteed a spot in the TQCC. The next six teams will qualify for the Globe Cup, provided that there are at least two teams from each nation and with the AFF's caveat.

Hatton Town, which had lost the Ad’ihani title back to Tallyn Rovers in the regular season, overcame fatigue from playing a newly-extended 38-match league season to finish second, but still lost their JUST title to Bede City, the last Liventian JUST qualifier from the new LPFL Championship. Bede almost managed the first perfect JUST season, but for a Matchday Five 3-0 loss away at Pardbo.

Sorthern Football League – 2052 season, part three

Matchday eleven

The big match of the week saw James Connolly hosting Castrograd. It was perhaps a more important match for James Connolly who arguably needed a win to keep themselves in the title race, and win they did, bringing the two teams level on points in third and fourth places.

17th of October 2-5 Juahzhou
Felland Marsh 1-2 East Reading
Floriana RMI 1-1 Corcaigh
Heathfield United 1-1 CF Septentrionien
James Connolly SC 2-1 Castrograd
Marx-Stadt 1-4 Beningrad
New Ireland 2-0 Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
Red Star Cork 4-0 Areck Furness
Snowspire Communal 3-1 An Blascaod Mór
Sparrowbottom Athletic 1-1 Windlesham Town

Matchday twelve

Having previously lead the table by just a single point Red Star were given breathing space as Beningrad fell to a late double salvo from Heathfield United. James Connolly also gave Red Star a boost. Having picked up a good win last week James Connolly failed to carry any momentum over as they were defeated by a single goal in Baile an Fheirtéaraigh.

East Reading 2-0 17th of October
Corcaigh 3-2 Juahzhou
CF Septentrionien 0-1 Felland Marsh
Castrograd 3-0 Floriana RMI
Beningrad 1-2 Heathfield United
Baile an Fheirtéaraigh 1-0 James Connolly SC
Areck Furness 1-0 Marx-Stadt
An Blascaod Mór 1-0 New Ireland
Windlesham Town 0-3 Red Star Cork
Sparrowbottom Athletic 4-1 Snowspire Communal

Matchday thirteen

Should the order at the top of the table remain as it is come the last couple of games of the season, a thrilling finale is sure to be in store. Whilst Red Star were dropping points at home to a Snowspire Communal whose resurgence seems to have plateaued in seventh place, cross city rivals Corcaigh were making full advantage of the failures of Castrograd and Beningrad to gain maximum points. Moving up into second Corcaigh sit just two points behind their neighbours. Despite that though it is far from sure to be a fight between the two Corcaigh clubs as the top six are separated by just four points.

17th of October 2-4 Corcaigh
East Reading 1-0 CF Septentrionien
Juahzhou 3-2 Castrograd
Felland Marsh 1-1 Beningrad
Floriana RMI 3-2 Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
Heathfield United 2-1 Areck Furness
James Connolly SC 5-4 An Blascaod Mór
Marx-Stadt 6-0 Windlesham Town
New Ireland 1-2 Sparrowbottom Athletic
Red Star Cork 1-1 Snowspire Communal

Matchday fourteen

Draws aplenty for the top sides on matchday fourteen. A win for Red Star widened their lead to four points as Castrograd shared two goals with Corcaigh, whilst Beningrad played out an eight goal draw with third placed East Reading. James Connolly perhaps missed out most, their three all draw away to Sparrowbottom meaning they were unable to punish their higher placed rivals. The first team below to Red Star to win was Snowspire Communal, and with them now just two points off fifth place, a UICA position could still be on the cards for them.

Though no doubt there will be some conspiracy to prevent such an occurance.

CF Septentrionien 1-0 17th of October
Castrograd 1-1 Corcaigh
Beningrad 4-4 East Reading
Baile an Fheirtéaraigh 0-0 Juahzhou
Areck Furness 0-0 Felland Marsh
An Blascaod Mór 3-0 Floriana RMI
Windlesham Town 1-2 Heathfield United
Sparrowbottom Athletic 3-3 James Connolly SC
Snowspire Communal 3-2 Marx-Stadt
Red Star Cork 3-1 New Ireland

Matchday fifteen

Remember when we said a battle for the championship between the two Corcaigh teams was on the cards? Well, we seem to have put some sort of curse on that. Whilst Red Star continued their good form with a commendable win away at James Connolly, Corcaigh drew for a second match in a row. It leaves them in fourth place and some six points behind Red Star. A lot of ground to make up in the remaining matches.

Here's one we've not (yet) got wrong, Snowspire's win saw them move up into sixth place and with Champions' Cup champions Beningrad currently outside of the Champions Cup' qualification places and therefore eligible to qualify in addition to the top two finishers a sixth place finish would be good enough for a Glole Cup place.

17th of October 1-4 Castrograd
CF Septentrionien 2-2 Beningrad
Corcaigh 1-1 Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
East Reading 2-0 Areck Furness
Juahzhou 1-3 An Blascaod Mór
Felland Marsh 0-1 Windlesham Town
Floriana RMI 0-2 Sparrowbottom Athletic
Heathfield United 0-1 Snowspire Communal
James Connolly SC 0-1 Red Star Cork
Marx-Stadt 2-0 New Ireland

And now, with just four matches to go the table:

....Team P W D L For Ag +/- Pts
1 Red Star Cork 15 10 4 1 35 10 +25 34
2 East Reading 15 8 6 1 25 13 +12 30
3 Castrograd 15 8 4 3 29 16 +13 28
4 Corcaigh 15 8 4 3 31 21 +10 28
5 Beningrad 15 7 5 3 34 24 +10 26
6 Snowspire Communal 15 8 2 5 21 26 -5 26
7 James Connolly SC 15 7 4 4 25 19 +6 25

Esperança Tetraplégica ends up having its perfect record tarnished, but ascends anyway. Calypso and Xangrilá, the former relegated, get a SBCC spot each but miss A Series for one more year.

Despite Cosumar's success in international soccer, including qualifying for the 54th World Cup, the Fiefdom has never had an organized league structure like those utilized in many other countries. For years, hordes of unorganized clubs scheduled matches without any real structure. The World Cup team would consist of players that caught the eye of the big-wigs who organized Cosumar's international soccer ventures. Cosumar's increasing relevance in international soccer has braught attention to our sub-standard domestic league. That is, formerly sub-standard. Almost two years ago, Tomas Navarro led the way in forming the Fiefdom Soccer Federation, Cosumar's first real system of soccer clubs. The existing masses of clubs were consolidated into a tiered system similar to that of many other nations. Based on past performances, the newly founded FSF compiled the top 16 teams into the Harlighet Ligan, Cosumar's premiere teams. In this manner, the Sekundar Ligan (Cosumar's second-tier teams) and Tredje Ligan (Cosumar's third-tier teams) were filled, each with 16 teams as well. The remaining squads were cast into a series of lower leagues called the Lägre Ligan. The FSF follows a system of promotion and relegation, with the top three teams in each Ligan being promoted, and the bottom three being relegated. The inaugural season of the FSF was a huge success, and you can read about it below!

FSF 983 Season (Inaugural Season)

Harlighet Ligan

The Harlighet Ligan (translated as The Glory League) is the highest level of the FSF. These clubs are Cosumar's finest, elite clubs. Harlighet Ligan's season consists of 30 games, every team will play each other twice. OAS Royal FC and Kaldukosk FC are generally considered the best teams. Eastweald has a rich history of triumph, but has been on a decline in the last decade. Below, you can see the Harlighten Ligan daily results, final standings, and which clubs got relegated below.

In the first FSF season, OAS Royal FC took home the Championship, becoming Cosumar's first official domestic champion and club to enter in the TakilQuil Cup of Champions. Based in Område av Storslagenhet (OAS for short), OAS Royal FC is the only club owned by the King himself, hence the term royal. OAS Royal's triumph was not much of a surprise, being projected to finish in the top two slots since before the season started. Only one point behind OAS Royal was Mallox, a squad that turned out to be quite the surprise. Mallox was projected to finish fourth, but nearly stole the championship title, and defeated OAS Royal 4-1 in MD22. Close behind is Eastweald, one of Cosumar's oldest and most storied clubs. Their presence in the top 3 was also a slight surprise, given their decline in recent years. Perhaps this is their first step towards a revival. Kaldukosk FC rounded out the top 4, underachieving this season. Kaldukosk was projected to be the Champion, so their shortcomings definitely came as a surprise. Mallox, Eastweald, and Kaldukosk FC will all represent Cosumar in the Globe Cup. Cirdaw FC, Serpents, and Morponte Fief all finished in the bottom 3, and will compete in Sekundar Ligan next season.

Sekundar Ligan

Sekundar Ligan (translated as The Secondary League), is the second tier of the FSF. These clubs are Cosumar's slightly smaller clubs with a lot of potential to make it to Harlighet Ligan. All of Sekundar Ligan is fighting for one of the three promotion slots to Harlighet Ligan, making it an intense and entertaining league to follow. Sekundar Ligan's season consists of 30 games, every team will play each other twice. Real Azuris and Centus FC are predicted to dominate the league this year, and many experts say these two teams should have been placed in Harlighet Ligan during the FSF's formation. In the first Sekundar Ligan season, Real Azuris proved that they deserved to play among Cosumar's best; winning the Sekundar Ligan, a promotion, and a berth to the Series B Champions' Cup. Centus FC and Fort Archer also earned a promotion taking 2nd and 3rd place respectively. Olask Islanders missed out on the promotion by 3 points, but will still be joining Real Azuris, Centus FC, and Fort Archer in the SBCC. Olask's success was a bit of a surprise, being projected to finish in 7th. Conversely, two highly-touted clubs in Klyde Heritage and Dusk Athletic failed to live up to their high expectations. Caedar FC, Hampton FC, and Sarmon United finished in the bottom three and have been relegated to Tredje Ligan.

Tredje Ligan

Tredje Ligan (translated simply as The Third League), is the third tier of the FSF. These clubs are Cosumar's more obscure squads, although they all have aspirations of making it to Sekundar Ligan, and eventually Harlighet Ligan, despite the odds. Tredje Ligan's season consists of 30 games, every team will play each other twice. Pelethas United and Treftadaeth are generally considered the best teams. Analysts have cited Fevelo United and Keenan Athletic as squads that could possibly slip into a promotion spot. You can see the Tredje Ligan daily results, final standings and who got relegated or promoted below.

Pelethas United was very impressive, overcoming their 2nd place projection and summarily dominating most of the teams on a consistent basis. Fevelo United also overachieved, stealing the 2nd place spot and a promotion in lieu of their fourth place projection. Projected Champion Treftadaeth had a solid season, finishing 3rd, and will compete in Sekundar Ligan next year as well, despite failing to meet expectations. Pardock Island, who was projected to be relegated and shocked all of Cosumar by coming within 1 point of a promotion. Nuur United, Varvonti United, and Felton Sailors have all been relegated to the Lower Leagues (Lägre Ligan).

Airgro United, Natinarzo and Pamare sit comfortably in the top three at the minute. Karkla Unido somehow have managed to slip all the way down to sixth place and are 11 whole points off top. Karkla were expected to manage something big this season, but they seem to be struggling a little bit so far. Pamare were expected to be fighting relegation, but by a freak of nature they have managed to sit themselves in third. At the bottom Olympicas and Oliva Ciudud are sitting in the relegation zone which was slightly predictable. Strangely Racing Varga are just one point off relegation when they were expected to be fight for first.

As expected Prugavo Soska are leading the table with 20 points. Behind them are Zaragraba de Fredigo and Pretida Pago, both of whome still have a chance of winning this league. With that there are pretty much no shocks and we expect the table will be looking like this towards the end of the season, Although Hargra Afel will probably swap places with Ostska Athletic.

Natinarzo take an expected lead and go to first in the table. Surprisingly Pamare are just behind them and

Triskili managed to climb to the top of the table with a 7 game unbeaten run. They took us all by surprise by coming up from 8th place, but now they look like proper contenders. Hagra Afel hit a poorish run of form to drop out of the play-off spots all the way down to 9th place. Prugavo Soska are still going strong towards the top, but not as strong as expected. Zaragrava de Fredrigo drop a few places and so do Petida Pago. Zadplax Juintio manage to climb there way into the play off places.

Sorthern Football League – 2052 season, part four

Matchday sixteen

Having got off to a good start, 17th of October's season has gone somewhat downhill and reached what will surely be it's nadir as Beningrad struck eight past them at the James Connolly Stadium. Despite the show of strength from Beningrad they have almost certainly lost their defence of the title needing as they do to make up eight points in the remaining three matches. If anyone is to catch Red Star it will surely be Castrograd or Corcaigh, both 4-1 winners away from home. With both sides however six points behind it'll be some feat for either of them to finish higher than second.

Beningrad 8-0 17th of October
Baile an Fheirtéaraigh 1-4 Castrograd
Areck Furness 0-0 CF Septentrionien
An Blascaod Mór 1-4 Corcaigh
Windlesham Town 2-1 East Reading
Sparrowbottom Athletic 4-1 Juahzhou
Snowspire Communal 2-1 Felland Marsh
Red Star Cork 2-0 Floriana RMI
New Ireland 4-0 Heathfield United
Marx-Stadt 1-0 James Connolly SC

Matchday seventeen

It's not quite over yet. Both Corcaigh, impressive in putting six past Sparrowbottom, and Castrograd, more efficient than impressive against An Blascaod Mór made up ground on the leaders. Despite only managing a two all draw against Juahzhou to allow the gap between them and their closest chasers to four points, Red Star would confirm the championship with a win in the next match, a draw or defeat and they could well be in for a nervy final day.

17th of October 0-1 Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
Beningrad 1-0 Areck Furness
Castrograd 1-0 An Blascaod Mór
CF Septentrionien 0-1 Windlesham Town
Corcaigh 6-0 Sparrowbottom Athletic
East Reading 1-3 Snowspire Communal
Juahzhou 2-2 Red Star Cork
Felland Marsh 2-0 New Ireland
Floriana RMI 2-4 Marx-Stadt
Heathfield United 2-3 James Connolly SC

Matchday eighteen

Hail Red Star Cork, the new champions of Sorthern Northland. Whilst Castrograd's collapse at the hands of Sparrowbottom Athletic played a major role it is unlikely to be remembered in years to come. Instead the the memory, for fans of both Corcaigh clubs, is sure to be of Red Star gaining the title with a composed 3-1 derby victory. Funnily enough Corcaigh's fans didn't stick around too long to savour the celebrations.

The defeats for Castrograd and Corcaigh could also see Sorthern Northland miss out on a third Champions' Cup place with Beningrad winning to move into second place, should they finish there, their guaranteed place in next season's competition as holders in addition to Sorthern qualifiers would no longer apply.

Areck Furness 2-0 17th of October
An Blascaod Mór 2-0 Baile an Fheirtéaraigh
Windlesham Town 0-2 Beningrad
Sparrowbottom Athletic 6-0 Castrograd
Snowspire Communal 3-2 CF Septentrionien
Red Star Cork 3-1 Corcaigh
New Ireland 1-2 East Reading
Marx-Stadt 2-1 Juahzhou
James Connolly SC 1-0 Felland Marsh
Heathfield United 0-2 Floriana RMI

Matchday nineteen

A 2-0 defeat of the champions may have been something of a bittersweet end to the season for Castrograd. Had they not have been defeated last week a victory this week would have seen them qualify for Champions' Cup. As it is, Beningrad 2-0 defeat of Snowspire Communal saw the TQCC holders qualify through league position. The result was also a double blow for Snowspire as it moved them down from third and guaranteed Globe Cup qualification to sixth and missing out on the Globe Cup by just a point. Had Beningrad not finished second however, their qualification to the Champions' Cup in addition to the top two would've meant sixth would have been good enough to qualify for the Globe Cup.

Beningrad's second place finish is also understood to have been disappointing for the SNFA, despite persistent rumours of them being the SNFA's favoured club. It was thought that an allegation of fielding an inelligible player may have seen Beningrad docked points, and therefore demoted from second place. It is thought however that such an action has been thrown out after it was decided that UICA would be too wise to fall for such a trick.

17th of October 2-3 An Blascaod Mór
Areck Furness 3-1 Windlesham Town
Baile an Fheirtéaraigh 2-2 Sparrowbottom Athletic
Beningrad 2-0 Snowspire Communal
Castrograd 2-0 Red Star Cork
CF Septentrionien 3-0 New Ireland
Corcaigh 4-1 Marx-Stadt

Juahzhou 3-2 Heathfield United
Felland Marsh 1-0 Floriana RMI
