You know what, the flag thing is just like racism. Discriminating against those who look different than them. I find anime appealing, a work of art, and kind of taboo (I live in the south ATM, terrible place for a person like me to live) cause here the anime that comes to mind to the locals is Naruto, which is quite sub par, in my opinion.
Not exactly what I'm talking about. I'm reffereing to the people inside them that think theirs is better than the other without actually doing much in the other.Nadkor wrote:Well, the idea is that when NSG allowed many more "fun", "social", or "community" threads, it became more of a community forum where we would disagree on politics and other issues (although there were always the hardcore arguers), rather than an argument forum, where everybody just argued with each other.Auremena wrote:Why do we have to be segregated into groups anyways? Make it a come and go. The difference, in my eyes, is just the grouping of the topics, like in the gameplay forum. NSG has the discussions, F7 has the fun. Come and go between the two, and there won't be the NSGers who think they're better than everyone else, and the F7ers who don't act mature on many occasions. I tried that a long time ago, and it didn't work because of the hardcore activists for both groups saying you can't be both. I think we should all be both, have the liberty to discuss in General, and goof off in F7 without discrimination or segregation.

No, the 'flag thing' is nothing not just like racism, it may, MAY, have similarities, but it is not 'just like'. I also, have lived in the South, there are just as many 'real' anime fans, who look down on Naruto. You know, not only that, talking about anime makes me cringe, don't know why.
What I'm trying to say is why can't we all be friends? But according to my earlier statement, that wouldn't happen, because the majority of the NSGers would say "stoopid idealizt ur an idjot" and leave it at that.
I have never, EVER, seen a regular NSGer say something like that. In my history on this account, and during my years as a Capitalist three years ago. If a NSGer did say that though, it would be because of your slightly off grammar, or lack of debating skills.

Different from the player info thread. Where new people can pop in and introduce themselves, have a bit of a chat with the people who are already here. It might help with new posters blending in.

No, it's still discrimination, which racism is a type of.Laos Refugees wrote:Also, if I'm spamming moderation, I'll gladly stop.Auremena wrote:You know what, the flag thing is just like racism. why you are wrong. It sometimes varies on a case by case basis whether to lock it, but bumps in general are okay when there hasn't been many replies. Too many bumps later, the thread is locked for OP not realizing that "lack of interest" plays a role in the replies his thread will get. But once there's already been many replies, people are just commenting on sub-topics that aren't relevant to the OP.
"We lock threads whenever it's obvious that further discussion will go nowhere."
"I remember one thread that had a good discussion going but getting locked just because the original person who bumped it got called for necroposting."
That second link of yours just kicked your own ass.

Still the same thing, discriminating against opinions, which we are all entitled to have our own opinions and be respected for them.

Just because F7 is home to spam, doesn't mean it's going to become a new *chan. Max would never allow such a thing to happen. F7 doesn't need to be productive, that however, doesn't mean it has the right to spam DESU DESU DESU and trade pictures of underaged boys.

True, and fair enough. NSG has been rather clique-ish for a while, and new posters either fit in or don't.
That's something else we should try to fix, but it's not a moderation complaint per se.
