It has been more than a year since the historical event of the Spring Revolution or the 2014 Ocidenian Revolution has commenced. It was a time unlike any other throughout the country’s entire history as Ocidenia and its people have experienced what they had never experienced before and managed to live through what they were definitely not prepared for. After a history of being a peaceful and pacifistic country, Ocidenia has lived through an uncontrollable turmoil. Just over a short period of time the nation has faced the collapse of its long-existing political and administrative system, an installment of an untrusted and anemic substitute government, complete international isolation, military intervention and invasion by outside aggressors, the development of tensions and hostility all around its borders and finally the growth of a heated internal animosity, which almost lead Ocidenia towards the end of its territorial unity. Although the nation has originally hoped that the revolution would lead the country towards a complete rebirth and would ensure the people of Ocidenia a bright future, the course of events that followed only made it seem like the results turned out completely polar opposite to what was originally pursued. The nation was ready to believe that they were observing a full extinction of Ocidenia as a country and a nation. Fortunately, the horrifying prediction was never fulfilled and although the proceeding times were difficult for the country, the light slowly began shining upon the Ocidenian land once more.
Following the ousting of the previous regime, the new administration and the new Prime Minister of Ocidenia Simeon Brozhav had promised great changes as that was what the people of Ocidenia were originally fighting for. With the nation hoping to get their country out of the recession that it was suffering through under the previous government, all hopes were put into the new administration of Prime Minister Simeon Brozhav as it came to power with promises to give the people what they want and turn Ocidenia into as powerful of a country as it had never been throughout its entire history. However, time was passing by and the new government was becoming more and more consolidated in the country, while any improvements in the economy of Ocidenia remained minimal, which practically did not lead to any positive changes since the revolution. The new government remained widely unrecognized by the international community, while Ocidenia itself faced vast political, diplomatic and economic isolation from the rest of Esquarium. This was due to allegations that the new government of Ocidenia was actually a counterfeit regime brought to power by the CIA of Luziyca and that the new Prime Minister of Ocidenia Simeon Brozhav was one of its agents, while the entire Ocidenian Revolution itself was actually a coup d'état orchestrated by Luziyca, while being disguised as a national insurrection in Ocidenia. This alleged ousting of the legitimate government of Ocidenia and its replacement with a puppet regime was supposedly carried out by Luziyca as an attempt to spread the influence of Bethlehem in eastern Esquarium. Although this theory was never solidly proven, the majority of the international community, including several Esquarian superpowers, accepted it as a fact and completely terminated any ties with Ocidenia with some countries even declaring war on the Commonwealth, which eventually lead to an unsuccessful international invasion and intervention in Ocidenia. Luziyca itself began receiving accusations of aggressive imperialism across Esquarium as its opponents in the Esquarian Cold War were not happy seeing the Christian Republic spreading its influence beyond. Nevertheless, the government of President Breuvi Shojarski itself did not face anything beyond vocal opposition and accusations, further preserving a status of an active member of the Esquarian community, while Ocidenia faced complete isolation and even military aggression from all sides.
The following year of rule by the Brozhav administration in Ocidenia generally consisted of mediation between conflicting parties and military build-up, while the development of economy, which the nation was originally waiting for and anticipating, generally remained with no attention devoted. The government was eventually able to sign a cease-fire agreement with the secessionist movements of northern and southern Ocidenia, thus helping to save the country from a breakout of an internal war, however, no other notable work for the benefit of Ocidenia was carried out by the administration of Prime Minister Simeon Brozhav. With the country remaining at the rock bottom, while the administration only focused on building up military and seemingly developing relations with Luziyca, the nation eventually began voicing its dissatisfaction with the government’s failure to fulfil its promises, thus creating a new wave of protests this time opposing the actions of the Brozhav administration. Despite the people of Ocidenia trying to become noticed and demonstrate that the government is supposed to serve them and their country, the administration generally ignored the nation’s demands, only trying to calm down any opposition by making empty promises. Eventually, the people of Ocidenia became tired of being completely unnoticed by the government, which lead to a wider wave of more serious protests demanding impeachment of Prime Minister Simeon Brozhav as the nation has finally opened its eyes to what the administration of Prime Minister Simeon Brozhav actually was.
With the nation finally rising up against the fraudulent Luziycan-backed regime of Ocidenia, the secessionists in northern and southern Ocidenia, which served as the only two armed opposition movements in the entire country, have decided that further remaining under a forged truce with the regime, while allowing the entire nation to suffer, was not something that should continue. The secessionists became determined to commit to freeing their country from Luziycan domination and were ready to fight for it. After the first resistance shots had been fired, the government labeled it as a violation of the established truce and assumed the right to terminate all armed radical movements in the country in order to cleanse Ocidenia of terrorism. With both the government of Ocidenia and the two secessionists movements being determined to fight for their goals until the very end, an ultimate battle for Ocidenia’s future has begun.
