Ocidenian Civil War (Ended)

Postby Ocidenia » Mon Apr 06, 2015 2:00 am

OOC

It has been more than a year since the historical event of the Spring Revolution or the 2014 Ocidenian Revolution has commenced. It was a time unlike any other throughout the country’s entire history as Ocidenia and its people have experienced what they had never experienced before and managed to live through what they were definitely not prepared for. After a history of being a peaceful and pacifistic country, Ocidenia has lived through an uncontrollable turmoil. Just over a short period of time the nation has faced the collapse of its long-existing political and administrative system, an installment of an untrusted and anemic substitute government, complete international isolation, military intervention and invasion by outside aggressors, the development of tensions and hostility all around its borders and finally the growth of a heated internal animosity, which almost lead Ocidenia towards the end of its territorial unity. Although the nation has originally hoped that the revolution would lead the country towards a complete rebirth and would ensure the people of Ocidenia a bright future, the course of events that followed only made it seem like the results turned out completely polar opposite to what was originally pursued. The nation was ready to believe that they were observing a full extinction of Ocidenia as a country and a nation. Fortunately, the horrifying prediction was never fulfilled and although the proceeding times were difficult for the country, the light slowly began shining upon the Ocidenian land once more.

Following the ousting of the previous regime, the new administration and the new Prime Minister of Ocidenia Simeon Brozhav had promised great changes as that was what the people of Ocidenia were originally fighting for. With the nation hoping to get their country out of the recession that it was suffering through under the previous government, all hopes were put into the new administration of Prime Minister Simeon Brozhav as it came to power with promises to give the people what they want and turn Ocidenia into as powerful of a country as it had never been throughout its entire history. However, time was passing by and the new government was becoming more and more consolidated in the country, while any improvements in the economy of Ocidenia remained minimal, which practically did not lead to any positive changes since the revolution. The new government remained widely unrecognized by the international community, while Ocidenia itself faced vast political, diplomatic and economic isolation from the rest of Esquarium. This was due to allegations that the new government of Ocidenia was actually a counterfeit regime brought to power by the CIA of Luziyca and that the new Prime Minister of Ocidenia Simeon Brozhav was one of its agents, while the entire Ocidenian Revolution itself was actually a coup d'état orchestrated by Luziyca, while being disguised as a national insurrection in Ocidenia. This alleged ousting of the legitimate government of Ocidenia and its replacement with a puppet regime was supposedly carried out by Luziyca as an attempt to spread the influence of Bethlehem in eastern Esquarium. Although this theory was never solidly proven, the majority of the international community, including several Esquarian superpowers, accepted it as a fact and completely terminated any ties with Ocidenia with some countries even declaring war on the Commonwealth, which eventually lead to an unsuccessful international invasion and intervention in Ocidenia. Luziyca itself began receiving accusations of aggressive imperialism across Esquarium as its opponents in the Esquarian Cold War were not happy seeing the Christian Republic spreading its influence beyond. Nevertheless, the government of President Breuvi Shojarski itself did not face anything beyond vocal opposition and accusations, further preserving a status of an active member of the Esquarian community, while Ocidenia faced complete isolation and even military aggression from all sides.

The following year of rule by the Brozhav administration in Ocidenia generally consisted of mediation between conflicting parties and military build-up, while the development of economy, which the nation was originally waiting for and anticipating, generally remained with no attention devoted. The government was eventually able to sign a cease-fire agreement with the secessionist movements of northern and southern Ocidenia, thus helping to save the country from a breakout of an internal war, however, no other notable work for the benefit of Ocidenia was carried out by the administration of Prime Minister Simeon Brozhav. With the country remaining at the rock bottom, while the administration only focused on building up military and seemingly developing relations with Luziyca, the nation eventually began voicing its dissatisfaction with the government’s failure to fulfil its promises, thus creating a new wave of protests this time opposing the actions of the Brozhav administration. Despite the people of Ocidenia trying to become noticed and demonstrate that the government is supposed to serve them and their country, the administration generally ignored the nation’s demands, only trying to calm down any opposition by making empty promises. Eventually, the people of Ocidenia became tired of being completely unnoticed by the government, which lead to a wider wave of more serious protests demanding impeachment of Prime Minister Simeon Brozhav as the nation has finally opened its eyes to what the administration of Prime Minister Simeon Brozhav actually was.

With the nation finally rising up against the fraudulent Luziycan-backed regime of Ocidenia, the secessionists in northern and southern Ocidenia, which served as the only two armed opposition movements in the entire country, have decided that further remaining under a forged truce with the regime, while allowing the entire nation to suffer, was not something that should continue. The secessionists became determined to commit to freeing their country from Luziycan domination and were ready to fight for it. After the first resistance shots had been fired, the government labeled it as a violation of the established truce and assumed the right to terminate all armed radical movements in the country in order to cleanse Ocidenia of terrorism. With both the government of Ocidenia and the two secessionists movements being determined to fight for their goals until the very end, an ultimate battle for Ocidenia’s future has begun.

The Ocidenian Commonwealth Armed Forces were carrying out a full-scale assault on both the secessionist-held north and south of the country. The strike consisted not only of an air campaign, which was actively resumed by the Ocidenian Air Force, but the army was also brutally attacking the enemy territories on the ground with mass numbers of troops engaging the secessionist forces in firefights, while tanks and missile systems shelled the path forward. Bombs and missiles from aerial support were covering the land in an ocean of explosions and fire.

Meanwhile, the secessionist forces of OPLF in the south and ONLF in the north were each bravely fighting for the defense of the land under their occupation. Although both rebel movements were actively arming themselves for a year and beyond, they soon realized that they were not as nearly powerful as the Ocidenian Military. The government forces were not only outnumbering the opposition forces, but they were also attacking the rebels on several fronts from all sides at once. As the secessionists only possessed power on the ground, the government forces were attacking them from the air with missiles and bombs, while legions of tanks and other heavy armored vehicles were crushing them like a tsunami. In addition, despite both rebel movements facing brutal defeat on the battlefield, the OPLF still did not face as difficult of a situation as their northern counterparts. The ONLF positions in northern Ocidenia were facing constant shelling from the government fleets stationed in the country’s territorial waters, as the Ocidenian Naval Forces were launching a continuous shower of missiles onto the shores of northern Ocidenia. This was done as part of the Ocidenian Military’s strategy to lay heavy pressure on the northern secessionist positions from multiple different directions as the navy was striking the rebel territories from the north, while the army and the Ocidenian Air Force were launching all kinds of hell onto the rebel positions from the south.

Just over a short period of time, the government forces were already able to infiltrate the rebel areas by resuming powerful and concentrated assault, despite the best attempts by the OPLF and ONLF to keep the Ocidenian Military out at whatever cause. The leaderships of both opposition movements were currently stuck and did not have any additional strategy that could help boost the rebel progress. Until a mutual tactic could be formed, all that the OPLF and ONLF fighters could do at the moment was simply resume active fighting against the government forces in order not to permit any further advance into the opposition-held territories in the north and south.

Although the rebels were already facing difficulties in fighting the Ocidenian Military on the ground, the continuous attacks from the skies by the Ocidenian Air Force made it even more difficult. The missile showers, massive bombings and napalm strikes were sweeping the opposition forces off the ground like dust in both northern and southern Ocidenia. The fighters could not equally focus their attention to fighting off threats both on land and from the sky, which was perfectly understood by the Ocidenian Military and therefore such pressure from multiple sides at once was used as a strategy.

The fighters were launching endless fire at the oncoming government positions, firing from rifles, machine guns, rocket launchers, bazookas and grenade launchers, while especially attempting to take out the enemy tanks, which were the heavy artillery of the advancing army. Although the rebels managed to take out some tanks, the majority still continued rolling forward and shelling the rebel positions, while being escorted by troops from all sides. Although the government had control of the situation on the ground and did not face much difficulties in fighting the opposition forces, the soldier battalions still requested that the attack and bomber jets in the skies above keep up active assault on the rebel positions.

The rebels were disappearing in flames and explosions, while the Ocidenian Military resumed the move forward. Seeing that they were losing advantage on the ground in both areas, the commanders of the OPLF and the ONLF on the battlefield have contacted each other and devised a mutual strategy of sending reinforcements to the frontlines, while also pulling in some anti-aircraft weaponry and equipment that both factions possessed. Once the rebels pulled in their first anti-aircraft guns and missile batteries to the frontlines, they began launching fire at all Ocidenian aircraft in the skies that they saw.

With the Ocidenian Air Force losing some jets, but fortunately not the pilot lives due to auto evacuation systems, the Ocidenian Military required to fill in the gaps left by the destroyed aircraft and increase the numbers of aerial reinforcements in the skies above the battlefields. The deployed additional aerial reinforcements consisted of a balanced equal amount of attack and fighter jets with both types already providing powerful and destructive fire on their own, however, also managing to generate extremely powerful wave of destruction upon combining the fires.

The government forces on the ground did not require reinforcements as they were succeeding in their objectives very well. However, should the regular army land units start receiving pressure from the rebel forces, the option of sending additional reinforcements was always available.

Robert M. Levy Barracks, Wrycova, West Cedarbrook
5:50 PM Wrycova Standard Time, Building Q, JCS Meeting Room

Admiral Ben Asher, chair of the JCS paced contemplatively as they filed in. Air Force Chief of Staff Majesky first, nodding to the Admiral and taking the seat opposite him and to his left. He was followed soon by the Navy's Carl Epstein, who punched Ben Asher's shoulder and grinned. Ben Asher looked up, then broke out into a broad grin. Epstein took his seat directly across from the Chairman. A few minutes later, Mordechai Ben Tzion of the Army and Defense Intelligence Director Jonathan DeMuir wandered in, vigorously debating last weekend's Steinhouse Municipal vs. Rickover Naval Academy football game, a tie after four overtimes.

On the screen in the far end of the room, the picture was divided. On the left was the image of Colonel Yael Orlowsky, DeMuir's chief of Western Continental Operations. On the right, the telemetry from Masseau still fuzzy was the picture of Colonel Pierre Telem, West Cedarbrook's ambassador to the Southeast Oriental Entente. Ben Asher began.

"External Affairs has requested that we have a periodic review of the Ocidenia situation. That starts now, and continues bi-weekly at 1750 Mondays. I want to keep this in summary format. The impression I get from the President is that the Senate is eager to show that our approach isn't going to cut the Western Powers slack on the basis of keeping commercial relations smooth in this case. This is almost in our back yard, boys. Nobody in the Senate, not the Libertarians, the Conservative fire-eaters, even the pragmatists want to see another red paper. The question right now is, what's the take on the forces in contention? I want the DIO to take point for this analysis. Colonel Orlowsky, what is your section seeing on the ground now in Paradisa?"

All eyes in the room focused on Colonel Orlowsky, a round faced, middle aged woman with long black hair. "Not much more is available than you've seen in the news. We're trying to gain info from the northern and southern areas of contention, and have a pretty good handle on public opinion in Paradisa. Overall, none of the factions are very savory. Overt Luzyican involvement in support of Brozhav cannot be confirmed. The insurgent factions do not appear to promise any improvement over the current regieme, and most previously existing democratic voices have been pretty well silenced by last year's coup and subsequent turmoil. We continue operations to make contact with the rebels, especially in the South, for the purpose of understanding their grievances. The southern group is especially murky. As all of you are aware, Brozhav holds the cards militarily at this time. Yet absent massive rioting in Paradisa itself, or the emergence of any officer within the Ocidenian military that would represent a viable alternative to Brozhav, we see little to gain in gaming toward any faction now."

"I see", commented Ben Asher. "Colonel Telem, is this on the agenda at the SOE?"

Colonel Telem responded "It's on everybody's mind here in Wiley, but as of now it's not an item for discussion. My staff is working furiously to add it, though. I've had several discussions with Chairman Ruiz. On this I think there has to be some leadership from the members in the Serean Sea area, Odissia, Fenslentrra. I'm actioning our military attaché in Sänt-Terèsa especially for more background on any likelihood of spillover into Fenslentrra. Overall, I suspect SOE won't put this on the front burner unless there's overflight, or any kind of mischief on the seas as the result of the fighting in the north".

Ben Asher grunted, always eager for more information. "But we need to keep ahead of this. I won't ask you to take the lead in any SOE proposal for intervention, Pierre. I want External Affairs to carry the load to get any agreement for that. Overall, in my opinion, if this continues to devolve, Brozhav and one or both of the factions may ask for a cease fire, or there could be an independent request from a military faction for assistance in keeping order. Their economy is about tanked. Mordechai, I want to know what we're prepared to put forward if we get such a request. And I'm talking about real enforcement of order, not just parking our boys out west to be sitting ducks. What looks best? How soon?"

General Ben Tzion spoke up. "I'm thinking of a polygot force. Worst case, if called upon and hostilities continue at high levels, we'd want a full capacity offensive contingent to take the fight to remote areas. I'd be looking at the Second Army. The spearhead there would be the 10th Airborne. For more remote and scattered fighting I'd send the 21st Division, the whole 9 yards, armor, stryker brigades, infantry and light artillery. Maybe more appropriate for isolated action in the North, if needed. If there's a chance of peacekeeping and law and order in Paradisa, I'd give that to the 37th Nat Guard out of Port Yehoshua. Performed best in January's MP efficiency ratings, have a damn good tactical unit too."

Aerial reinforcements were sent to both northern and southern regions of Ocidenia. The regular army was determined to learn from the past mistakes as they had lost a lot of aircraft to simple tactical bombing and air strike attacks without really focusing on taking cover or avoiding the rebel attacks from the ground. The risk was especially high now as the rebels had pulled in some fresh anti-aircraft weaponry and equipment to the frontlines, firing it all at the government jets, helicopters and other military aircraft.

Even though the weaponry and equipment used by the rebels were outdated in comparison to the arsenal of the Ocidenian Military, it was still powerful and dangerous enough to the Ocidenian Air Force as the rebels seemed to have a very clear idea on how to properly and tactically use it. This made the aerial units attempt to jump to an immediate cooperation with the land divisions requesting that the ground forces increase their pressure on the rebel forces and launch an even more aggressive and persuasive wave of attacks in order to force the opposition to shift their focus to defending themselves from an oncoming enemy on the ground, instead of strategically taking out Ocidenian aircraft, while keeping up the fight with the government forces on the ground. The land units did as they were requested to and were soon oncoming on the rebel positions with an enormous wave of destruction. Meanwhile, the remaining jets in the sky received an opening to comfortably make occasional strategic bombings and launching air offensives on the enemy positions, while awaiting for aerial reinforcements to arrive. Once fresh attack and bomber jets joined the fight, the Ocidenian Air Force immediately jumped to fixing the mistakes that they had made before and stared attacking the radical positions on the ground with attack combinations rather isolated strikes. The Ocidenian Air Force did not wait for either requests or orders from the ground command, when to fire, and was instead firing at the rebel positions as much as possible and as frequently as possible, thus constantly keeping up participation in the fights.

Meanwhile, in northern Ocidenia, the naval fleets resumed constant firing of missiles onto the northern shores of the country with expectations to take out as many opposition forces as possible, knowing that they were stationed all across the occupied north. The fleets felt safe, while being stationed along the coastline as they felt unreachable for the militia forces to fire back at and thus they could comfortably resume their attacks without expecting any potential response from the enemy side. However, there were actual attempts by the northern rebels to launch attacks against the government navy by using whatever weaponry that could achieve such long-distance shots. Although all attempts by the rebels to do so failed, this forced the government side to take precautions and thus additional units of the Ocidenian Air Force were deployed to patrol the skies above the fleets, observing the rebel positions on land from the distance and warning the ships below about potential response attacks from the rebel side. In addition the jets were willing to attack the rebel positions on the shores on their own, should a response attack be required immediately as the aircraft had a more comfortable possibility to approach the shores closer and launch attacks.

As the rebel forces were fighting the Ocidenian positions on the frontlines, reinforcements kept arriving carrying heavy artillery with more weaponry and of higher caliber. Although the Ocidenian Military has increased its aerial presence in the skies of both northern and southern Ocidenia with the government air forces resuming air strikes and bombings of the opposition forces on the ground, both the OPLF and the ONLF obtained a big number of anti-aircraft guns, which although were not very powerful weapons in comparison to the Ocidenian arsenal, they could still inflict a lot of damage and casualties among the Ocidenian aerial positions if used right and in large numbers. Due to both rebel factions not processing and endless amount of these weapons, the OPLF and the ONLF fighters had to stay cautious and place these weapons only in covered areas, not really visible to the targeting range of the Ocidenian Air Force jets. Carelessly losing the numbers of such strategically important weapons was definitely not an option.

Meanwhile, as the situation was somewhat under control in the skies, the rebels had to take precautions on land as the seemingly indestructible Ocidenian tanks continued rolling forward and massively shelling the rebel positions, while crushing everything in their path. Due to the tanks possessing powerful armor, these machines could definitely not be easily damaged even with a wide range of powerful and destructive attacks. The rebels kept firing rocket launchers and grenade launchers at the government vehicles, while trying to quickly set up mines on their paths and even settle a chain of grenades that would flood the government positions in explosions. Nevertheless, the efforts did not pay off as wanted as the government vehicles usually resulted in having minor damages on the surface, but still with the ability to roll forward and fire at the rebel forces.

Knowing that they would not immediately be able to destroy the Ocidenian tanks, the rebels had to focus how to at least slow down the war machines, the soldier battalions and the rest of the government positions down. The fighters began setting up a line of mortars and using them to launch a wave of shelling on the government positions, primarily hoping to slow down the vehicles and suppress the ongoing fires launched by the soldiers.

Meanwhile, along with the tanks that resumed shelling the OPLF and the ONLF positions in both north and south, the government forces also started bringing in land-to-air missile systems, which although were usually meant for firing at hostile aircraft in the skies, could also be used for firing at the land forces, once the aim is set at a right angle. As the advancing tanks were coming under fire by the rebel attacks, the soldiers had to jump to the defense of the vehicles by surrounding them from all sides and providing cover fire.

The troops were constantly firing at the enemy positions with rifles, machine guns and bazookas, while also taking cover wherever they could to avoid getting hit by enemy bullets. Although the soldiers were doing well at first, the shelling from huge alignments of mortars forced the government soldiers to take immediate cover and wait for an opening to fire, once the rebel shelling ceases. However, such opportunity did not arise, as the opposition forces were endlessly blasting away towards the Ocidenian positions, while the tanks blindly considered moving forward, attempting to resume fire. In order not to permit the possibility of being cornered by the inferior rebels, the soldiers radio-contacted the Ocidenian Air Force and requested a bombing run of the OPLF and the ONFL mortar crews in order to suppress their fire and give the government forces an opening to continue their advance. Once this achieved, the government positions resumed their advance.

Meanwhile, in order to provide support for the tanks and other heavy armored vehicles in their assault on the opposition forces, the missile batteries were arranged to fire at the right angle, launching showers of missiles that were dropping right onto the OPLF and the ONLF positions right from the sky.

The government forces have decided to increase the level of bombings on the enemy positions on the ground. Although the Ocidenian Air Force was already carrying out a big number bombings and was endlessly launching air strikes on the OPLF and ONLF positions, the jets could not constantly keep up effective fire as they also had to avoid getting shot out of the sky by anti-aircraft guns that the rebels possessed. Even with reinforcements on land, the jets were still not entirely safe from being fired at from the ground and had to balance out self-defense and continued attacks.

Therefore, the Ocidenian Military decided to deploy even more aerial reinforcements to fully pack the skies above all battlefields with jets, attack helicopters and other assault aircraft in order to keep up constant attacks on the enemy positions. The army was even looking forward to an opportunity of establishing “an umbrella” above the battlefields if possible, giving no chance for the rebel forces to avoid and oncoming shower of missiles and bombs.

The rebels on both fronts resumed intense shelling, seeing that showers of mortar fire were highly effective in either taking out or suppressing the movement of the Ocidenian forces. Although it did not damage the tanks, the constant fires and explosions that these attacks were generating, were definitely making the path less visible for the advancing Ocidenian vehicles. As soon as the rebel positions saw that the tanks were not moving forward as confidentially as before, they immediately whipped out their grenade launchers and started firing them at the tanks as intensely as possible, hoping to take out the machines, while they are still in their most vulnerable state.

The Ocidenian Military continued using identical strategies while operating in the north and south, seeing that certain methods were working to a great effect and thus resumed applying them. As the government tanks were rolling forward shelling the OPLF and the ONLF positions, other armed vehicles were advancing right behind them. Soldier battalions kept up active rifle, machine gun and bazooka fire right at the rebel forces in attempt to suppress the opposition attacks and ongoing shelling.

Meanwhile, the Ocidenian Air Force came up with a clever strategy how to use damaged aircraft to the army’s advantage. As certain jets and helicopters noticed that they were about to face a crash-landing, the pilots ejected themselves from the aircraft they were operating and attempted to direct the crash of the aircraft right towards the rebel positions, hoping to kill as many radical in jet explosions as possible.

Seeing that the government forces were actively advancing forward, the OPLF positions in the south began pulling back as they knew that if they stood out in the open any longer, they would be taken out by the tanks and oncoming air strikes. However, the rebels were not running away from the battle as they instead wanted to find comfortable hiding spots, from where they could resume firing, while avoiding getting hit by Ocidenian attacks. Once such spot was found, the mortar crews resuming shelling the oncoming government positions with mortars, while the rebels were firing from assault rifles, while taking cover in the pits created by grenade and missile explosions. Other battalions were engaging the Ocidenian Air Force from the ground by firing anti-aircraft fire at the jets.

In northern Ocidenia, the ONLF positions were still constantly being shelled from the waters by the Ocidenian Naval Forces as the government fleets resumed every day sessions of launching missile storms at the coast. Despite the northern rebels outright losing the fight and facing endless casualties by staying out in the open and getting hit by forces that they cannot fight back against, the ONLF could permit to transfer their stationed positions from the country’s coasts as that would leave the path open for the government forces to take the coast and launch a full-scale assault on the north from another side.

Since, the ONLF was already getting pressured heavily by the government forces from the southern side, allowing to open another front for the Ocidenian Military was an option the opposition could not afford. The ONLF remained stationed on the shores of Ocidenia, while looking out for when the government fleets would start launching missiles again. Meanwhile, the land forces holding off the government assault on the south were provided with a comfortable opportunity to continue fighting back.

The OPLF rebels fighting in the south were looking out for an option to cease tanks from the government forces and use them for their own benefit. Although several attempts to achieve this goal were made, it ultimately lead to failure as any attempt to surround the tanks failed as these positions were either taken out by the government soldiers or the attacked tanks themselves. Meanwhile, any attempt to halt the tank advance without damaging them, was near to impossible, thus the opposition’s only option was to resume the shelling with rocket grenade launchers.

The Ocidenian Air Force primarily used bombs and missiles in their attacks against the rebel positions on the ground, however, seeing that these hits were not always effectively destroying targets, the aerial units decided to integrate napalm bombings into their aerial campaigns much more. The napalm bombings were generating a much wider range of sky-high explosions that were making the OPLF and ONLF forces on the ground disappear in an ocean of fire and explosions.

Due to all the bullets bouncing off the tank armor and the shelling taking a long time before causing actual damage, the OPLF fighters have a devised a strategy that they would later share with the ONLF in the north via radio contact. The rebels would try to split themselves up into groups, while in the middle of combat, with some groups staying out in the open and resuming combat against the government forces, while others would try to sneak around and surround the Ocidenian Military in order to attack them unexpectedly. Although this strategy was not bulletproof, it was the best the opposition had at the moment, as most of the time the rebels were required to improvise, while in the middle of combat.

As the frontline forces resumed firefight with the regular army as part of a distraction strategy, other rebel forces tried to sneak out of the frontlines and stealthy approach the government troops. The rebels were prepared to use assault rifles, rocket launchers, grenades and flamethrowers as their primary weapons upon the strike, however, in case hand combat with the government troops escalates, the rebels also had sharp machetes as a hand weapon.

The government forces were very focused on keeping up pressure and resuming firing at the rebel positions. Although the powerful war machines that were tanks were confidently rolling forward and shelling the opposition endlessly, while being provided with cover from the air, these vehicles were still not indestructible and although the tank armor could hold off a lot of hostile fires, the vehicles would eventually receive high level of damage borderline to destruction. Especially considering the fact that the insurgent forces were constantly launching rocket launchers and grenade launcher fire at the tanks, while also throwing hand grenades onto their path. Therefore, the troops felt responsibility to provide cover for the vehicles in order not to permit the rebels to make too much progress.

Meanwhile, the OPLF units that managed to sneak up on the government troops distracted with the fighting, were preparing to deliver a surprise strike. Before attacking immediately, the rebel fighters had to make sure that the soldiers were distracted enough and not prepared to fend off potential attacks from the side as it was expected that the troops of the regular army would be cautious in the middle of a heated battle.

As they were blasting away their powerful machine guns and using up magazine after magazine, while delivering power blasts from the modernized bazookas and grenade launchers, the soldiers were occasionally throw a look at the side, making sure that there was no stealth attack coming from the side of the rebels. Although these stealthy units were waiting for the government soldiers to eventually quit this gazing and fully focus on the OPLF forces in the distance, the rebels never received this wish as the professional government forces always remained on their and resumed watching over their shoulder expecting surprise rebel attacks.

Seeing that they would not get that moment, when the soldiers would get fully focused on just the units that they were fighting against, the stealthy OPLF units requested that their allies on the frontline intensify their fire against the government forces, so that the Ocidenian Military would fully concentrate on defending themselves, rather than gazing to their sides and being so focused. The forces on the frontline were planning to do as they were requested.

Following the request from their brothers in arms, the OPLF forces intensified their attacks on the government forces with a storm of mortar fire, while dozens of fighters openly ran to the frontlines shooting rocket launchers and grenade launchers at the government soldiers, tanks, land-to-air missile systems and other armored vehicles, while the regular fighters resumed blasting away from their assault rifles and machine guns. The OPLF forces were also constantly throwing grenades without aim, hoping that they would reach the government forces with them. The forces on the frontline did not stop intensifying their fire as they were requested to keep it up until they would make sure that the troops of the regular army are definitely distracted enough and not devoting attention to watching for any rebels over their shoulder.

Once the stealthy rebel forces noticed that absolutely all of the visible government troops took cover and started partaking in the firefight, that was the moment when they prepared for an unexpected attack. All of sudden these forces jumped out and began running towards the government forces in a stampede, firing at them from rifles, while also engaging the troops in a personal physical combat, attempting to slash their throats with machetes and also stab them. Many rebels did not exactly approach the government forces too close and kept a certain distance, throwing multiple grenades at the soldiers. Nevertheless, the government forces were not as vulnerable in these attacks as the OPLF wanted and reacted quickly enough to decently hold off the strike. However, the opposition was still keeping up quality combat as well, serving as an equal force in a fight against the regular army.

Seeing that this strategy was working, the OPLF contacted the forces of the ONLF in the north and suggested to perform the same strategy, claiming that it would work in leveling the playing field. A good strategy was needed for the ONLF as much as it was for the OPLF as the rebels in the south were having a hard time fighting off the government forces as well.

With the government forces receiving a lot of pressure on the frontlines, the troops requested an increased air cover from the Ocidenian Air Force. Although the jets in the sky kept up bombings and air strikes on the rebel position, the Ocidenian Air Force ultimately took a step back in the fight as they believed that the land forces had a decent control over the situation, while the aircraft required to devote more focus on defending itself as the rebels aggressively kept up active fire from anti-aircraft guns. In order to play a bigger role in the combat rather than just background cover fire, the jets began using strategy to get back on the track.

The aircraft divided up into different units, all firing at the insurgents from different sides at once, in order to disrupt the rebel concentration. The opposition was no longer able to counter the Ocidenian Air Force as effectively, as they were not able to take a good aim at the constantly moving government aircraft, while also looking out for attacks to defend from. Meanwhile, seeing that they were able to disrupt the rebel concentration, the government jets overwhelmed the opposition forces with endless missiles and napalm.

As the Ocidenian Air Force intensified its bombings and strikes on the rebel positions once more, the ground forces now faced a relief and could resume effective combat against the rebel forces, while also fighting off those stealth units that attacked the regular army out of nowhere. Although these radicals were putting up a good fight after catching the government troops off guard, the professional soldiers ultimately overwhelmed the fighters and even used their weapons against them. However, the soldiers were not close to winning the fight as the opposition also obtained flamethrowers, something that the regular army did not possess at the moment. Using these weapons, the rebels generated mountains of bright and thick flames, which consumed the battlefield, forcing every government soldier to take cover before giving a response attack.

Meanwhile, the rebel forces on the frontlines were massively loosing equipment as the Ocidenian Air Force was destroying everything with its air strikes and bombing runs. In order to safe their resources, the rebels massively began moving the weaponry and equipment away from the open fields and instead stationing it somewhere, where the government jets would not necessarily notice at first glance. Knowing that the jets in the sky would not freely permit such a move, the rebels divided themselves up into groups, with some transporting the tech away, while other kept blasting into the sky from rocket launchers.

The government forces kept up attempts to continue fighting the rebel forces, while also terminating the incursion into their own part of the battlefield. As the rebel flamethrowers wielders kept generating massive fires all across the fields, while other radicals kept up firing grenade and rocket launchers, the soldiers of the regular army were forced to take cover and wait for a comfortable opportunity to fire back. Since all the tanks were advancing towards the rebel positions in the battlefield, the soldiers were left to take care of the intruders on their own.

Upon seeing that they had a grip over the government forces, the rebels were so in the moment that they kept blasting away all their ammunition, while making their entire environment covered in fire. Eventually, the rebels had understood that they had generated so much smoke and fire all around them, that they could barely see their targets, thus unintentionally providing an opportunity for the Ocidenian soldiers to take out these rebel forces by firing from any angle. Seeing that the insurgents had created a trap for themselves, the government soldiers most definitely used the opportunity and strategically began taking out the blinded the rebels in small groups, while firing from behind the flames.
