HYDRO SUPER LEAGUE - EIGHTH SEASON (PART II OF IV)

Apertura Tournament

MD11:

Bezieres 1-0 Slateport
Eterna 1-1 Tannenberg
Gatineau 1-1 Canalave
Alligators 1-2 Fontvielle
Nacional 1-0 Nord Energie
Olympique 2-1 Cardenales
Pradera 1-2 Cerro
Pumas 0-2 Marinos
Caimanes 2-0 Chiquito
Valencia 1-0 Vaud

Fontvielle Impact reached the first place in the Apertura after beating Metropolis Alligators at the Dome. That defeat sends the Alligators to the third place, since Bezieres won over Slateport Bulls. The National Derby between Tannenberg FC and Eterna Stars ended in a draw, and Valencia celebrated their first victory in this season.

MD12:

Vaud 2-3 Caimanes
Chiquito 1-1 Cerro
Eterna 1-0 Cardenales
Fontvielle 3-2 Canalave
Marinos 1-2 Bezieres
Nacional 1-0 Slateport
Nord Energie 2-0 Olympique
Pradera 0-1 Gatineau
Tannenberg 3-1 Pumas
Valencia 0-2 Alligators

Fontvielle Impact are still leaders of the Apertura, defeating Canalave Dragons, one of their direct rivals for the title. With 27 points, one less than the Impact, we have AS Bezieres and Metropolis Alligators, who defeated Marinos and Valencia respectively. The champíons Nacional entered to the fight for the title with their victory over Slateport Bulls, who are in the doldrums, with just 20 points in the tenth position.

MD13:

Cerro 1-2 Slateport
Bezieres 2-1 Nord Energie
Vaud 0-1 Alligators
Eterna 1-1 Olympique
Fontvielle 2-0 Chiquito
Gatineau 0-1 Tannenberg
Marinos 1-0 Nacional
Pumas 1-1 Cardenales
Caimanes 1-2 Pradera
Valencia 0-3 Canalave

After this day, the fight for the title seems to be reduced to just three teams: Fontvielle Impact, AS Bezieres and Metropolis Alligators. Tannenberg edged past Gatineau at the Omnisports to continue in the fourth place, while Canalave, Marinos and Nacional are trying to keep up with "The Citizens".

MD14:

Canalave 2-1 Vaud
Cardenales 0-1 Bezieres
Chiquito 2-0 Valencia
Marinos 1-1 Cerro
Nacional 2-1 Pradera
Nord Energie 1-2 Eterna
Olympique 1-0 Pumas
Caimanes 0-2 Alligators
Slateport 3-0 Gatineau
Tannenberg 1-1 Fontvielle

Metropolis Alligators and Bezieres took advantage of the Impact's draw in Tannenberg and recovered the first place. The Dragons are now in fourth place, beating Tannenberg on goal difference. As for the relegation zone, all the five teams with problems to avoid relegation lost their matches. Did I mention that Caimanes were facing winds of crisis?

MD15:

Bezieres 1-1 Tannenberg
Vaud 1-0 Chiquito
Cardenales 1-3 Cerro
Fontvielle 2-0 Slateport
Gatineau 1-2 Marinos
Alligators 1-0 Pradera
Nacional 2-0 Olympique
Nord Energie 2-1 Valencia
Pumas 0-1 Eterna
Caimanes 1-1 Canalave

Four matches remaining and the Alligators are now sole leaders of the Apertura. Bezieres' draw with Tannenberg sent "Les Rouges" to the third place, behind their arch-rivals Fontvielle Impact, who beat Slateport. Nacional are now in fourth place with their victory added to Tannenberg's and Canalave's respective draws. By the way, welcome Slateport to the Crisis Club...

MD16:

Cerro 1-1 Tannenberg
Canalave 1-0 Alligators
Cardenales 2-2 Nacional
Chiquito 1-1 Gatineau
Eterna 1-1 Bezieres
Marinos 2-0 Valencia
Olympique 1-3 Fontvielle
Pradera 1-0 Vaud
Pumas 1-0 Nord Energie
Slateport 1-1 Caimanes

Fontvielle Impact returned to the lead in this Apertura, winning their city derby, and taking advantage of the Alligators' loss to the Dragons. Bezieres chances are reeling with their draw in Eterna City, which put "Les Bleus" with three points more than "Les Rouges". Marinos and Canalave are dangerously approaching to the Impact, while the other two "Big" teams lose terrain. Pumas' victory sends both Valencian teams to the last place (again).

MD17:

Bezieres 1-0 Olympique
Vaud 2-2 Marinos
Chiquito 1-2 Canalave
Eterna 3-0 Cerro
Fontvielle 1-0 Nord Energie
Gatineau 1-2 Cardenales
Alligators 1-0 Slateport
Nacional 2-0 Pumas
Caimanes 2-1 Tannenberg
Valencia 1-1 Pradera

The list of teams with chances to win the Apertura was reduced from nine to four teams. Fontvielle Impact, with 41 points, have the first option. The Alligators, who dug Slateport's tomb, are in second place with two points less than the Impact. Bezieres, with 38 and Canalave, with 36 points complete the group. The champions' victory over Pumas helps them complete 35 points, but an Impact's draw the next week would be the end for them.

MD18:

Canalave 1-0 Pradera
Cardenales 0-3 Fontvielle
Chiquito 1-1 Alligators
Marinos 1-2 Caimanes
Nacional 1-2 Eterna
Nord Energie 0-2 Cerro
Olympique 1-0 Gatineau
Pumas 1-2 Bezieres
Slateport 3-0 Vaud
Tannenberg 4-1 Valencia

The draw with Chiquito was really a stab in the heart for the Alligators, who are now out of the fight for the title. Fontvielle Impact, with 44 points and Bezieres with 41 are the only teams with chances to win the Apertura and a spot in the next TQCC. Despite the 1-0 over Pradera, the Dragons are out as well. However, they deserve a mention for their outstanding campaign this Apertura.

MD19:

Some surprising results so far...

Cerro 1-0 Pumas
Vaud 2-1 Cardenales
Canalave 1-1 Nord Energie
Gatineau 1-0 Eterna
Alligators 2-0 Tannenberg
Pradera 1-1 Chiquito
Caimanes 1-2 Olympique
Valencia 1-0 Slateport

Bezieres 0-1 Nacional
Fontvielle 3-2 Marinos

Well, this time the team who did the most for the first place won the Apertura. After a doubtful start, the Impact improved their performance and managed to win the first spot for Valladares in the TQCC. However, as the format for this cup changed, the Impact will not qualify with the Valladares 1 spot as the Apertura champions. That will be decided in the Canalave Crown, which may be held at the end of the season. And, here are the standings:

Just a nose over the midway stage and here comes match day 23 of the Una Serie.

Results
Royal Khaldoon 1-2 Villa Ortiz
Salaga F.C 0-0 Jonastown United
Pythons 2-1 Valengren Kickers
Skyte City 1-1 Augustus
Athletic Khaldoon 0-2 Ridgemont Town
Rydell United 1-1 Almondvale

Eyebrows are still firmly raised over the whole Soro thing… Royal are down in 6th, 21 points behind leaders Pythons, seriously WTF is going on? Okay, they haven’t had the best luck with 6 of the recognized first team out injured and the back four has been cobbled together so it’s not all the Nethertopian’s fault but losing 3-2 to Villa Ortiz, well that’s just plain silly.

4 times champions and last season’s runners-up Pythons top the pile with a manly 51 points and taking three off Valengren Kickers is always a good way to end a week. It appears Akbar and Zukava have found their striking boots and the only thing close to Pythons points tally is their goals scored. The strike partnership picked up both in the 2-1 win while the Kickers own top scorer Gnomo grabbed a consolation.

Ridgemont have found themselves in the fight for a TQCC spot for the first time in years and are battling Almondvale whose lackluster season last season looks to be behind them. Ridgemont kept their TQCC dream alive with a 2-0 win over Athletic Khaldoon while Almondvale stuttered against table anchors Rydell United and took a single point from the team with the worst record in the league.

Rydell themselves will be pleased with the point as it keeps them in touch with Salaga (who themselves drew with Jonastown).

J-Town and Salaga are tied on points just ahead of the trap door and their managers may be staring down the barrel of possible sacking. A goalless draw does neither side a too many favors but it does give each a much needed point.

Valentia League mid season report. Picking up at week 23 we find Barbossa Hornets still rooted to the foot of the table, but at least they’ve managed a few wins. Their coach Samaire Parker is close to having an aneurysm as the stress mounts rumors are circulating she’s close to quitting after only 23 matches in charge. They’re still only three points behind Ambrose Gold who have hit a sticky patch drawing 8 of their last 11 matches.

At the top Khaldoon Monarchs still can’t be toppled. Striker Janessa Green has found some form and is scoring for fun while Sorthern keeper Lois Chávez has proved why she’s the most expensive keeper in the league after conceding only 18 goals.

With only ten games before the split anybody could make the play-offs and be crowned inaugural Valentia Premier League champions.

In League I only 21 points separate table toppers Belle-Isle on Sea from former Una Serie side Barbossa. Barbossa will desperately want to avoid relegation and become the second side to be relegated to the Pocoan third tier after being one of the Una Serie’s initial 12 sides. Belle-Isle have stiff competition from Valengren Rovers who look to join the Kickers in Una Serie and cast off their label as Valengren’s second team.

UFA Player of the Season - Corenhinho (Athletic Stanza): 32 goals in 37 games for the Brazilian-born Corenhinho, meaning he finishes top scorer for the second season running. Named in the Baptism of Fire Team of the Tournment by the hosts after 11 goals in 8 games, Corenhinho is undoubtably one of the greatest strikers the Platinum League has ever saw. A spectacular hat-trick against Zamba Torpedoes saw Zamba manager Yuri Kalaskin to call him "the finest player of our generation".

UFA Top Scorer - Corenhinho (Athletic Stanza): 37 appearances/32 goals

Clubs (That have qualified for international tournaments):

Athletic Stanza: Have now won the league five times in ten years, thanks in no small part to star striker Corenhinho and goalkeeper Jason Paul. Based in the capital, Zolka, they play their games at the 44,500-seater Topaz Park.

Image

Zamba Torpedoes: Have won the league twice in the last ten years. Managed by Yuri Kalaskin, former Krazaky BK midfielder, the Torpdeoes play powerful, attacking football at their home stadium of Dendreni Stadium.

Image

Gratizoli: Based on the small island of Gratizoli 20 miles from the coast, Gratizoli has a large italian following and team. Although they have not recently won the league, winger Giuseppe Joliano helped them win two UFA Cups in a row before his big-money move to Racaw Sultan. They play their home games at the Stade Razurazzi (capacity 37,500).

Image

Wexwick: The colony of Wexwick, near Gael na Eire, is based over 750 miles from Unitopolis. Despite this, clubs make weekly trips to the Wolfe Tone Colloseum in the colony.

The Commander's League

Another spectacular season of the Commander’s League is over. A few surprise teams emerged this year, and a few teams that should have done better failed miserably. The one thing that stayed the same was the dominance of Tyrrin Royale. This marquis club made several key offseason moves that definitely went quite a ways to securing a league championship for the second year running. Other teams made relatively few moves, which hurt several of them noticeably. The league stuck to the format that was used last season, with the Commander’s Cup being held in the middle of the season. Look forward to a league expansion next year, as some of the smaller towns, and possibly even military bases, will get their own teams.

The first half of the season showed that Royale would dominate the rest of the season. As they did last season, Racaw came out scoring goals, although this time, they had some defense to back it up. This has much to do with the play of Joliano, the club’s first international signing, who was the captain of the team by the third match day. Oclia were surprisingly bad, with Calvin Harris displaying a complete lack of form. Perhaps their sided had their minds on the World Cup more than domestic play.

Final
Tyrrin Royale 1-2 Foroch Raiders

Foroch Raiders dominated this entire cup, scoring an outrageous number of goals. Raimondo played very strong for Raiders, and scored five goals in this competition. Kowa managed to beat Icklyrri away, which surprised many people. Raider’s victory over Royale in the final shocked many as well, with Foroch playing excellent defense, holding Royale to a lone Klogh goal.

When all was said and done, Royale emerged victorious, despite a late run by Mertag to try to upset the repeat champions. Racaw and Foroch were the surprises of the season, with offense and defense being the keys to their respective strategies. Mariners failed to earn even a Globe Cup birth with the cutback on entries into the TQCC. Icklyrri also finished dismally, and Coranto failed to get off the ground, with Thorvald unable to achieve the form he had last season.

Golden Boot
5. Calvin Harris (17 goals)
4. Bernard Brecht (17 goals)
3. Markus Klogh (17 goals)
2. Zia THorvald (17 goals)
1. Chase Koit (19 goals)

17 goals seemed to be the ceiling of achievement for a striker this season, but Chase Koit managed to break it, leading a potent Sultan offense. Giuseppe Joliano and Arcady Vincenzo did their best to set up the talented Koit as much as possible, which lead to the club’s third place finish in the league, their best in a long time.

Foreign Player of the Year
5. Calvin Harris (Osarius)
4. Aaron Wilkshire (Queer Poco el Mono Ara)
3. Markus Klogh (Burchadinger)
2. Giuseppe Joliano (Unitopolis)
1. Matt Chauvin (The Babbage Islands)

Chauvin anchored and led the best defense in the league this year. He is notable on his team because he didn’t have any other star players next to him on the defensive line. Klogh had Williamson, and Wilkshire had McMicheal and Fionnlagh. Joliano was a close second, as he really made the difference for Sultan this season.

Most Valuable Player
5. Markus Klogh (Tyrrin Royale)
4. Lorenz Raimondo (Foroch Raiders)
3. Deandre Rodrigo (Mertag FC)
2. Matt Chauvin (Racaw Sultan)
1. Giuseppe Joliano (Tyrrin Royale)

Joliano beat out Chauvin for best overall player because he meant more to his team. He truly made the difference in turning this formerly bad club into a league contender. His arrival allowed Racaw to play the kind of game that they wanted, with an all-out attacking strategy. His success makes the future of Racaw Sultan look a bit more promising.

HYDRO SUPER LEAGUE - EIGHTH SEASON (PART III OF IV)

Clausura Tournament

MD1:

Valencia 1-3 Bezieres
Alligators 2-0 Cardenales
Vaud 0-1 Eterna
Chiquito 1-2 Marinos
Gatineau 2-3 Nacional
Caimanes 1-1 Nord Energie
Cerro 2-1 Olympique
Fontvielle 1-1 Pumas
Canalave 4-0 Slateport
Pradera 0-2 Tannenberg

The three "Big" teams won their respective opening matches. Canalave Dragons thrashed Slateport Bulls, who do not seem to be recovered from the disaster in the last Apertura. The Apertura champions drew with Pumas, and Nacional, Marinos, Bezieres and Cerro were the other teams with victories in the first match of this Clausura.

MD2:

Nacional 2-1 Cerro
Olympique 1-0 Vaud
Cardenales 1-1 Canalave
Tannenberg 3-2 Chiquito
Bezieres 2-1 Fontvielle
Nord Energie 3-1 Gatineau
Marinos 1-0 Alligators
Slateport 2-1 Pradera
Pumas 1-3 Caimanes
Eterna 2-0 Valencia

Six teams are leading the Clausura with 6 points after two matches: Bezieres, Tannenberg, Eterna, Nacional and Marinos. The Alligators, Cerro and the Impact lost their respective derbies to three of the leaders: Marinos, Nacional and Bezieres, while Cardenales, Pumas and Valencia are closer to the abyss.

MD3:

Cerro 1-1 Bezieres
Valencia 0-0 Cardenales
Fontvielle 1-0 Eterna
Pradera 3-1 Marinos
Caimanes 0-1 Nacional
Alligators 3-0 Nord Energie
Canalave 2-0 Olympique
Gatineau 1-2 Pumas
Chiquito 1-2 Slateport
Vaud 1-4 Tannenberg

Tannenberg and Nacional won their third match to continue in the first place of the Clausura. The Dragons are third, fighting for a spot in the next Globe Cup. Bezieres is fourth with 7 points, the same as Canalave, while the Alligators are fifth with 6 points. Fontvielle Impact defeated the Stars, while Marinos were stopped cold by Pradera. Pumas are breathing after their victory over Gatineau, while we witnessed another "double suicide" in the Valencia derby between Cardenales and Valencia.

MD4:

Pumas 2-2 Vaud
Marinos 2-2 Canalave
Nord Energie 0-2 Chiquito
Cerro 0-1 Fontvielle
Bezieres 3-0 Gatineau
Olympique 1-1 Alligators
Cardenales 0-1 Pradera
Eterna 1-1 Caimanes
Tannenberg 1-0 Slateport
Nacional 1-0 Valencia

The "Citizens" and "La Academia" remain as leaders with 12 out of 12 points. Tannenberg defeated the worst Slateport Bulls we've seen, and Nacional sank Valencia in the red zone of the standings. Bezieres are exerting pressure over the leaders, while Marinos and the Alligators are still giving away points.

MD5:

Gatineau 1-0 Cerro
Caimanes 1-2 Bezieres
Chiquito 2-1 Cardenales
Alligators 2-1 Eterna
Slateport 2-0 Marinos
Fontvielle 3-1 Nacional
Vaud 1-0 Nord Energie
Pradera 1-0 Olympique
Valencia 1-0 Pumas
Canalave 1-2 Tannenberg

Nacional lost in Fontvielle to the Impact, leaving Tannenberg as the sole leaders after their victory in Canalave. Bezieres, with two points less than Tannenberg, defeated Caimanes to clinch the second place in the Clausura. The Alligators defeated the "Stars" in one of the National Derbies, and Valencia are trying to get out of the relegation zone, dooming Cardenales to the last place in the Relegation Standings.

MD6:

Bezieres 2-1 Vaud
Pumas 1-3 Canalave
Nacional 1-0 Chiquito
Fontvielle 2-1 Gatineau
Cerro 1-1 Alligators
Eterna 2-0 Pradera
Cardenales 0-1 Caimanes
Nord Energie 1-2 Slateport
Marinos 2-0 Tannenberg
Olympique 3-1 Valencia

Bezieres are the new leaders of the Clausura after beating Vaud, and Tannenberg's loss to Marinos. Nacional defeated Chiquito, the Alligators drew with Cerro and the Stars defeated Pradera. "Alligators" and "Stars" are doing a bad campaign in this Clausura, being placed in seventh and eighth position, respectively. Canalave Dragons and the Apertura champions won their matches as well, while some teams are reeling in their fight to avoid relegation.

MD7:

Pradera 1-4 Bezieres
Tannenberg 3-0 Cardenales
Olympique 1-1 Chiquito
Canalave 1-1 Eterna
Vaud 1-1 Fontvielle
Valencia 0-1 Gatineau
Nord Energie 1-3 Marinos
Alligators 3-2 Nacional
Slateport 2-0 Pumas
Cerro 1-2 Caimanes

A head-to-head for the first place in the Clausura is being held between Bezieres and Tannenberg. In third place we have Nacional and the recovered Slateport Bulls, both with 15 points. The Alligators allowed Slateport to equal Nacional in points after defeating the latter 3-2. It seems the fight for the Globe Cup and Aeropag Football Invitational spots will be between Nacional, Tannenberg -should they do not win the title-, Eterna Stars, Canalave, Marinos and Slateport.

MD8:

Gatineau 3-3 Vaud
Nacional 1-1 Canalave
Eterna 2-1 Chiquito
Bezieres 1-1 Alligators
Marinos 1-0 Olympique
Pumas 1-0 Pradera
Fontvielle 1-0 Caimanes
Cardenales 1-2 Slateport
Nord Energie 1-1 Tannenberg
Cerro 1-1 Valencia

Bezieres are now the sole leaders of the Clausura, with 20 points, taking advantage of Tannenberg's slip in Toril. Slateport and Fontvielle Impact keep the pressure over the leaders, while Tannenberg are in sixth place of the Overall Standings, only earning the AFI spot. Nord Energie, Pumas, Valencia and Cardenales need victories to get out of the red zone.

MD9:

Chiquito 2-3 Bezieres
Cerro 1-2 Canalave
Marinos 1-0 Cardenales
Slateport 1-0 Eterna
Valencia 0-1 Fontvielle
Caimanes 2-1 Gatineau
Pumas 0-3 Alligators
Vaud 0-0 Nacional
Pradera 1-1 Nord Energie
Olympique 1-2 Tannenberg

Things have not changed in the Clausura. "Les Rouges" and the "Citizens" are still in first and second place, respectively, while Slateport Bulls and Fontvielle Impact are in pursue of the leaders. Slateport gave a hard blow to Eterna's chances, beating their state rivals at the Estadio de la Riviera, and equaling them in eighth place in the Overall Standings with 51 points, five points less than the fourth, Canalave Dragons.

MD10:

Cerro 3-1 Vaud
Bezieres 2-1 Canalave
Nord Energie 2-1 Cardenales
Pumas 1-2 Chiquito
Alligators 2-1 Gatineau
Eterna 1-0 Marinos
Slateport 2-1 Olympique
Fontvielle 1-1 Pradera
Valencia 1-1 Caimanes
Nacional 1-0 Tannenberg

After 10 matches in this Clausura, Bezieres are in the lead with 26 points. "Les Rouges" have not lost any match so far, and they are the strongest candidates for the Clausura title, and therefore, the second valladar spot in the TQCC. In second place we have Slateport Bulls, who after an awful Apertura, managed to recover and now are in the fight for the TQCC spot, since they are in eighth place in the Overall Standings. The fight for the GC spots will be between seven teams: the Alligators, Nacional, Canalave, Tannenberg, Eterna, Slateport and Marinos. As for the relegation zone, Valencia, Pumas Maldonado and Cardenales have the first option to be relegated to the B-League. Their future will depend on what they can do in their last nine matches in the Clausura.

FFB Premier League Season 29

If Season 28 was the Year of Parity, Season 29 was the Time of Chaos. The chaos was fueled by uncertainty over adding new clubs and realigning divisions. It eventually got resolved after the last matches, with a plan adopted that spared all bottom-dwellers the possibility of relegation for one season. Next year will be different, but today there will be reprieves.

The four new clubs for Season 30 will all play in the Third Series: SV Knizia, UMFK, Ysbeilwyr Caerdydd, and Zarahemla All-Sport. Each series will have 16 clubs and will play 30 fixtures.

Greenville Rovers win their second consecutive Premier League title, with newcomers Belgium FC holding on to the final round of the season. Keeper Norbert Bayer of Rovers took MVP honours over Belgium FC midfielders Shannon Myers and Kelli Alder. Defender Tomas Martinez of Real Santa Catalina nabbed Rookie of the Year placing first on every ballot; he is a player to watch.

Islands Cup XVIII

Real Santa Catalina win their first Islands Cup by 1-0 over Premier League winners and former Cup holders Greenville Rovers. The draw was unkind to keen fans in the semifinal when both last years' finalists, Rovers and Belgium FC, were thrust together for their rematch one round too soon. Real dispatched Viktoria Baden in the other semifinal.

TQCC- Vale
Vale win for the 4th season in the row and the manager has quit after finding it too easy. The team is expected to disperse after money problems and they could be lucky to even stay up.
GC- Leas, Sewermouth, Westbridge.
Leas yet again finish second although next season they say they're hopeful to win the league. Sewermouth yet again make it to the Globe cup and Westbridge made a shock cup win to make it to they're first international experience. This is also they're first season as a professional team.
SBCC- AFC Mintos, Dlesdren, Excritement, AFC Schoolboys.
AFC Mintos win the second division for the second time. Dlesdren did well for they're first season with a second place at the last minute type thing. Excritement fell out of second place at the last game and will regret it I'm telling you. AFC Schoolboy in they're first season do well as well for a team consisting of under 18's.

Season 25

Season 25 would be the final year in which the three divisions would be referred to as such; as part of a league shakeup, the divisions will change names and the lower two will change structure as of season 26. Two new foreign-feeder teams — the Sémoy Panthers (Sonoma Center, Paripana) as well as the Port Stanley Tiger Sharks (Portsham City, Virabia) joined the expanded Third Division this year, in which 16 teams played 45 games (up from 14 playing 39).

From next season, the United Islands Premier will be known as the Major League, the Second Division will become the Prime League and will hold 14 teams playing 39 games, while the Third Division will become the Minor League, holding 12 teams playing 33 games a season. The Supreme League will continue to contain 18 teams playing 34 games a season. As a result, for Season 25, the Second Division will not relegate teams, while the Third Division will promote four teams, bypassing any B teams.

It was also announced that CF Mont-Pluie had sold a majority stake in their Paripanan feeder club CFMP Jativa to the Aeropag Penguins. The Grand Island club will continue to hold a minority 20 percent stake in the new merged club, and will automatically participate in every other Aeropag Invitational Tournament in return.

The final change was announced in relation to the Joint Unified System Trial with Liventia's Football League. The champions of both the Ad’ihani and Liventian leagues will now get a direct slot into the TakilQuip Champions’ Cup, meaning only the next four teams from each division, plus each country's cup winners, will play in the JUST. The ten teams will contribute three teams to the TQCC, six teams to the Globe Cup, and one team to the Aeropag Invitational.

Meanwhile, the Grand Island Airport Workers team has been renamed to Union FC, and will now accept any players who are, or previously were, part of a worker's union, rather than limiting its player base to those who worked at the Aéroport international d'Ad’ihan. This leaves the Military Forces team as the only team in Ad’ihan with restrictions on who can play for the team.

AFF Challenge Trophy
The annual preseason friendly tournament made its return in season 25 after a five-season hiatus. Just two teams featured in this season's tournament, held as a single game at Protectorate Stadium. The reigning Silver Trophy and league champions, Hatton Town, faced the defending cup champions, Flitton Rovers, in a vibrant game, marked by multiple missed chances off the woodwork. An all-out-attacking side facing an all-out-defending side, and at the end of 90 minutes the score was... well, there was no score. A 114th-minute extra-time winner was what it took to separate the two teams, with Flitton Rangers winning the preseason accolades 1–0 AET.

Despite having four points less at this stage than at the same point last season, Hatton Town successfully defended the AFF Silver Plate, qualifying them once again for the Challenge Trophy. At the halfway stage they found themselves with a meagre one-point lead over Tallyn Rovers, while at the bottom Oldbridge City were struggling once again. Olympique Protectorat and Northtown United, both freshly promoted from the Second Division, found themselves propping up the table.

In a massive turnaround, Hatton Town started to lose form into the second half of the season, sealing their fate on Matchday 32 when all they managed was a 1–1 draw against a Flitton Rangers team battling relegation. Tallyn Rovers thrashed Altsend 5–1 on the same day to open the lead at the top of the table to an insurmountable seven points, earning them their first Ad’ihani championship. At the bottom, Flitton Rangers ultimately lost their battle to survive, and to make it doubly sour lost in the semifinal of the League Cup to eventual champions Northtown United, who they'd beaten in last season's final. Dalinn Wanderers and Olympique Protectorat, unfortunately, make the return trip down to the Prime League.

Meanwhile, Union SC make the most of the relaxing of player restrictions and win the SBCC slot by finishing fifth, after B teams of higher-division clubs locked out the top four places this season.

Season 23

The University League expanded to 18 teams this season, with the addition of the University of Riverston and the Foreign Studies College (Ad’ihan), the Ad’ihani campus of the Liventian-founded university of the same name. Teams will continue to play each other once, making for a 17-game season.

The West Zirconian National League reaches its 21st season. A new name was etched on to the First Division trophy last time, with Mort Park's first championship. Can their feat be repeated, or will yet another name make an appearance? (Or alternatively, will Banks win it yet again?)

Stanley United and Banks were the early pace-setters, while the defending champions struggled with some poor results, including draws against Currie and AFC Stanton. Normal service was resumed by the mid-way point, however, with the usual suspects - Banks, Mort Park, Stanley United and Bradley Hornets occupying the top four places (in that order).

The season then became a two-horse race - Banks against Mort Park. The two somehow managed to stay within two points of each other throughout, leaving the other supposed contenders in their wake. As the final match arrived, Banks were two points ahead, but facing a tricky away tie at Taylor's Cross, while the Roadrunners were at home to West Coast Angels.

The final results were:
Mort Park 4-0 West Coast Angels
Taylor's Cross 3-3 Banks

giving Mort Park their second title on one point of goal difference. No-one even noticed Hyland Town and Houghton Hawks sinking without trace at the other end, or St. Andrew's being thrown into the playoffs for the second consecutive season.

In the Second Division, Tîm Cymru were looking at a swift return to the top flight, and were in the lead at mid-way, closely followed by Crompton Town, the other relegated team.

In the end, it was Crompton who lost their nerve, leaving Tîm Cymru to go straight back up, followed by Moorcroft City.

CMSC XXXIX Matchday One… As is traditional, the opening round of games kicked off with the reigning champions on Saturday morning, with the GIZ up against a slightly new-look NAPPC and promptly managing their first hiccough. A certain amount of rustiness from the hosts and bounciness from the visitors’ youthful new additions helped the Peregrines to a fine one-all draw.

The biggest games elsewhere saw triumphs for the capital clubs; with Turkish coming back from two-one down to win a thriller at Harper Street, thirty-three year-old Carlos Cabrera on target on his first CMSC game for over a decade. Over in Songstress meanwhile, Fahmi Hamizi had by some distance the most interesting game of any player over the weekend – scoring twice past a nervous Leroy Nghiem and a MarquezOW side still finding their feet, before receiving a straight red for swearing at the referee. Which is really rather out of character for the pleasant young Jesseltonian, but these random generator thingies don’t lie, do they?

Elsewhere, it was pretty much as you were, really. Just with a few different teams. And players.

Oh, and KT Hotspur’s Hayden Collins broke a bone in his foot during their one-nil home defeat to Catedral, leaving Abellardo already forced to re-examine the future of that there four-six-nought.

AFC MN Smith 2-3 Caires Sports (Budden 34 and 46; Valinial 15, Dariegan 39, S’dankor 79)
Albrecht FC 2-1 Marquez-Onwere (Hamizi 19 and 50; Smit 31)
Arrigo Portuguese 4-1 McDonald SC (Álvarez 11, Galindo 15, Ramón 59, Blake 66; Subudhi 69)
Caires City 2-1 Turks’ Club (Wilkinson 23, Azam 90+1; Wetl 20)
El din Marbles 1-0 Mayo Valley (Pavoni 66)
Green Island 1-1 NAPPC (Van Syle og 45+1; Irin’lur 23)
KT Hotspur 0-1 Cathedral City (Naysmith og 48)
Port of Clotaire 2-3 Albrecht Turkish (Hooper 19, Hamblett 34; Robinson 18, Johnson 68, Cabrera 71)
Tenderville United 2-2 Radyukevich CSC (Holtz 60, Rau 83; Williams 8, McDermott 76)

Matchday Two… Heavens, when we said competitive, we didn’t mean that Caires Sports and the Marbles would be leading the table after a couple of games…

But there they are, after the Knights – the extremely offensive, Yaforite Knights – simply obliterated Port of Clotaire’s suddenly rather shoddy looking defence, sticking four past Karl John for only one late return; Brian Andrews hobbling off mid-way through the first half, and those who remained having absolutely no answer to the home side’s sustained, intelligent attacks.

And then we had Cassa’s Marbles very cleverly and concisely disposing of Turkish at the Solidarity, which also wasn’t in anyone’s script.

And then we had Green Island taking three points and a one-nil win at home to Albrecht FC, which probably was, just about. Both sides looked good though, to be fair, and you wouldn’t bet against them establishing a pretty strong one-two at the top before long.

Both Nethertopian clubs are among those squatting on four early points, meanwhile, with Tenderville taking a most satisfying victory at La Decimotercia and NAPPC’s youthful strike force easily getting the better of McDonald’s Shannon-less back four.

Albrecht Turkish 1-2 El din Marbles (Cabrera 60; Pavoni 26, Macanás 51)
Arrigo Portuguese 1-1 Turks’ Club (Pembace 49, Ramón 64)
Caires Sports 4-1 Port of Clotaire (Reuberson-Mohammed 28, Muniz Allman 34, Dariegan 36 and 48; Arrigorriagakoa 86)
Cathedral City 1-2 Tenderville United (Guaman 55; Tico 30 and 64)
Green Island 1-0 Albrecht FC (Raviranjan 15)
KT Hotspur 1-1 Caires City (Rass 67; Lagorio 50)
Marquez-Onwere 3-2 AFC MN Smith (Collado 14, Gómez 28, Gatti 80; González 89, Vine 90+1)
NAPPC 2-0 McDonald SC (Irin’lur 3, Izorigor 54)
Radyukevich CSC 1-0 Mayo Valley (Williams 72)

Matchday Three… Hurrying on during the unimportant, settling-in, finding the cloakroom/toilets part of the season; and, um, the Caires clubs top the table.

Curious.

That’s in part because the GIZ and Scorpions only managed draws away from home, at the less than testing locations (in theory, at any rate) of Bove and Saurin respectively. It really does just seem as though everyone’s doing their level best to step up to the mark; with those Vegans (people from Andossa Se Mitrin Vega, obviously. You’re not going to get actual vegans contributing much to MN Smith’s survival bid) at the City of Bove settling in very nicely indeed in particular.

Caires Sports sit second despite losing their 100% record, and needing Ahershk Valinial – and my, is he enjoying being back in the docks? – to hit a late equaliser at the Marble Ground; two goals conceded behind Caires City after the Errant Knights took full advantage of Mike Pohl’s early marching orders and a hopeless performance from Albert Haacke to notch up a five-nil win over Dave Hollow’s Tenderville. Could we really be about to see a title contest between the casino city’s big two?

Nah. Don’t be silly. One of them’s only just got promoted, for one thing. You don’t go from the CMSC2 play-offs to CMSC1 contenders in the space of a few months, no matter how many talented players you bring in.

Except when Green Island did just that back at the very start of the International Era in XXV, of course. Hm…

Nah. Don’t be silly.

Elsewhere, the PoC actually won a game.

And so did Radyukevich, to move up to seven points alongside the leaders after securing a late victory at Fortress Solidarity. Because suddenly, Albrecht Turkish are gash at home.

And the world doesn’t seem so familiar anymore…

And shall we just let the north-east savour this while it lasts…?

Albrecht Turkish 1-2 Radyukevich CSC (Robinson 73; Parker 47, Narquelie 85)
Caires City 5-0 Tenderville United (González 12 and 53, Gorrie 19, Wilkinson 27, Agostinho 72)

NAPPC 0-0 Arrigo Portuguese
Port of Clotaire 2-0 Marquez-Onwere (Fuller 20, Sánchez García 34)

Matchday Four… Fahmi who?

No really, Fahmi who?

Oh, the lad at Albrecht FC. Right.

Anyway, though don’t really need him. All the need are uber-talented buggers like Nakatsuru and Kouakou Kouamé on the field, and a half-decent finisher up front. Torrealba tried out two of them this weekend, in the forms of Tara Bekker and Finlay Fisher, and both found the net in a five-nil crushing of Arrigo Portuguese. The sharp decline of William Romero Fernández in the Portuguese goal over recent months was underlined for all to see by Xavier Tekeste in particular, meanwhile, with Romero caught off his line after eleven minutes and palming the ball into the net from a free-kick barely three minutes later, but his defenders also have to share the blame for this embarrassing performance – Harry Bradley, starting in place of the injured Adam Darby, given a torrid time throughout by George Morrison while the frailties of Carlos Galindo were left horribly exposed by the Scorpions’ young strikers. Not good.

Elsewhere there were draws aplenty – including Green Island’s third in four games, at home to the PoC, and Turkish taking a morale-boosting point at Catedral to drop six points off the lead at this early stage. Signs that the lengthy periods of relative success for Mayo and McDonald could finally be drawing to a close continued meanwhile, with the former extremely lucky to escape with a one-nil defeat at the McNeil Bingo Arena and the Dons barely holding MN Smith to a goalless draw at home. Both, along with the Smudgers, remain without a win – alongside KT Hotspur where, just to clarify, the 4-6-0 isn’t working.

The Monday night game saw Radyukevich lose Patrick Williams to what looks set to be another lengthy injury after barely five minutes, with his replacement Manny Soriano struggling thereafter to get into the game. Instead, the match provided further proof that Mosada Juhan’s Caires Sports really are the real deal – a deserved three-nil victory at the Hilltop sending the newly promoted Knights to the top of table.

Albrecht FC 5-0 Arrigo Portuguese (Tekeste 11 and 14, William 30, Bekker 39, Fisher 88)
Caires City 1-0 Mayo Valley (Agostinho 60)
Cathedral City 1-1 Albrecht Turkish (Delara 51; va Drake 39)
Green Island 1-1 Port of Clotaire (Kūks 59; Sánchez García 78)
Marquez-Onwere 0-0 El din Marbles
McDonald SC 0-0 AFC MN Smith
Radyukevich CSC 0-3 Caires Sports (Asheris 8, Anderson og 34, Majorheily-Orinova 50)
Tenderville United 2-1 KT Hotspur (Douglas 21, Tico 48; Tiller 35)
Turks’ Club 1-0 NAPPC (Hanson 31)

Matchday Five… Alejandro. Alejandro. Ale-ale-jandro. Ale-ale-jandro. Ale-ale-jandro again. Ale-ale-jandro.

Just stop. Please. Just let me go. Alejandro. Just let me go.

Which is another way of saying; Jesus Christ, what’s happened to MarquezOW these past couple of years?

It’s starting to feel like an age ago that Wendell’s money and – more to the point – the brilliance of Alejandro Blanco da Cruz had the naranja winning the Globe Cup, into the knock-out stages of the Champions’ Cup, and finishing a close second behind Green Island in the league. Last season they went from all that to enduring a ghastly Apertura before looking a completely different team in the second half of the season. They really are impossible to predict, but the unavoidable truth is that they’re not back in the bottom three again.

To be fair, the manager has more new players than most to integrate into his first XI, but certain key rivals for the UICA positions have certainly managed far better – Wayne Davis among them, whose Jukos never gave up hope in Onwere despite twice being pegged back in a game they plainly deserved to win with ease, and ultimately took the three points required to remain in the top four. Another few matches like this, and MarquezOW can once again give up any real hopes of achieving anything of merit in the league this term – and such an outcome will surely leave Wendell and Clement Wiley with much to ponder ahead of the Globe Cup.

The pointy tinged clubs are also clearly not having a particularly fine time of it this season, and we might just have to start to wonder whether their expected challenges are ever actually going to materialise. The champions were immensely jammy in taking a point from the Marble Ground and are yet to find any kind of flow but, for all that, the GIZ remain undefeated (albeit with four draws to their name) and a not unhealthy four points off the lead with both Caires sides themselves only managing a point apiece. Albrecht FC are starting to hit their groove now, however, though having Tekeste ruled out for two months is a serious blow and Torrealba will surely be forced into a considerable reshuffle if he wants to avoid sticking a centrally minded midfielder out on the right flank.

And Mayo Valley really aren’t very good at all, meanwhile. Zachary Telemans really should have gone in the summer in search of a bigger job because, without a point in five, he’s now looking in danger of finally being found out.

Albrecht Turkish 1-1 Caires City (Patris and Bavent 32; Johnson og 3)
Arrigo Portuguese 0-2 AFC MN Smith (Hai’Unda 1, Lockyer 77)
Caires Sports 0-0 Cathedral City
El din Marbles 1-1 Green Island (Macanás 67; Hastings og 90)
KT Hotspur 1-0 Mayo Valley (Maxwell 18)
Marquez-Onwere 2-3 Radyukevich CSC (Van Dyke 61, Collado 68; Kennedy-Workington 40 and 65, Soriano 71)
NAPPC 1-2 Albrecht FC (Prescott 17; Morrison 15, Hamizi 59)
Port of Clotaire 4-0 McDonald SC (Hooper 12 and 21, Arrigorriagakoa 28, Fuller 80)
Tenderville United 2-2 Turks’ Club (Douglas 18, Tico 25; Dos Santos 12, Cotton 55)

Matchday Six… Right, here we are then. The ‘big one’. The battle for early impetus in the title race. The… Caires derby, really?

With Reuberson-Mohammed benched with a knock, and the mercifully named thirty-two year-old Robin Smith starting in his stead, the visitors to the AAC-Dimrar Dome might have anticipated a shot at controlling the midfield, such has the experienced partnership of Salvador González and Patrick Zoric impressed so far this term. But the Knights, with Freire Muniz Allman frequently dropping back to make up a midfield five and Ahershk Valinial a player reborn, entirely sure in his own skin, and very much his own special Croatian; had other ideas. Heaven only knows whether it’s all down to Mosada Juhan, or Valinial himself, or eighteen year-old left-back Kingsley Peithner (well it might be… who says it can’t be all down to a Candelariasian?), but Caires Sports have been imbued with the sort of self belief that generally only comes with the ingestion of substances generally frowned upon in this part of the worlds. It’s all about confidence, John. And the side that barely managed to make the top six in the CMSC2 last time out have got it in very large spades.

As such, they threatened to give Caires City a proper pasting and only looked concerned late on when, after González had benefited from a lucky bounce to pull one back, Eric East reduced the deficit to a single goal with a hopeful long-range strike. The Errant Knights spent the final ten minutes camped in the opposition box, but Caires Sports are Yaforites and never looked likely to concede a third.

Elsewhere, Green Island drew. This is not a stunner. So did Albrecht FC, which is more of one, and joined City, the Jukos and Tenderville – who clearly aren’t going to achieve anything of note this term, despite their current position in fifth – on eleven points; three behind the le… the lea… behind the lee-ee-d…

CairesSportsarestilltop.

There. I’ve said it.

AFC MN Smith 1-0 NAPPC (Budden 45+1)
Albrecht Turkish 1-0 KT Hotspur (Randjelovic 77)
Caires Sports 3-2 Caires City (Majorheily-Orinova 10, Smith 48, Muiz Allman 52; González 76, East 80)
Cathedral City 1-1 Marquez-Onwere (Valdez 35; Van Dyke 65)
Green Island 0-0 Radyukevich CSC
McDonald SC 2-1 El din Marbles (Kenroe 17, Subudhi 24; Pavoni 32)
Port of Clotaire 3-0 Arrigo Portuguese (Arrigorriagakoa 16, Ó Lorcáin 62 and 87)
Tenderville United 3-1 Mayo Valley (Tico 4 and 77, Van Braam 18; Sheppard 48)
Turks’ Club 1-1 Albrecht FC (Cotton 24; Nakatsuru 56)

Matchday Seven… Ahh. Thank you, Albrecht FC, for restoring a smidgen of normality and thumping five past MN Smith. We all needed that.

A highly professional one-nil win in Rosasharn keeps Caires Sports top; the team sticking to their game plan even as Greg Tipping in the KT Hotspur goal continued to live up to his name with a fine performances. Once it became apparent that the home side offered absolutely nothing in the way of an attacking threat, Muniz Allman was eventually sub’d for Alex Davies – a lithe little striker who hasn’t turned out to be quite as good as was initially hoped, but is still quite a handful – who ultimately skidded in what proved to be the winner.

They even have a squad. It’s terrifying.

The GIZ and PoC also found one-nil away wins, but Turkish drew a blank at the Home of the Dragon. Entertainingly; Portuguese – who are extremely wealthy – were properly stuffed by the Marbles – who are also extremely wealthy, but who like to pretend they aren’t – to the delight of local politicians intent on preaching the essential honesty of poverty.

In injury news, Catedral are scratching around for strikers with Marcel de Winter off for a scan on his right knee tomorrow and Calvin Castillo still a while away from turning up; Radyukevich aren’t having a good time of it at all with Sascha Connah ruled out for the remainder of the Apertura, joining Williams on the sidelines and leaving the largely untested partnership of Manny Soriano and Alex De Rham the only obvious pairing in the centre of the park; and NAPPC will be without Sven van Syle for a bit, which you’re all no doubt utterly gutted about.

Albrecht FC 4-1 AFC MN Smith (Go 6, Nakatsuru 12, Kouakou Kouamé 42, Hamizi 78; Budden 19)
Arrigo Portuguese 1-3 El din Marbles (Pembace 28; Pavoni 12, Macanás 49 and 85)
Caires City 3-1 Marquez-Onwere (East 1, O’Connell 11, Gorrie 30; Van Dyke 55)
Cathedral City 0-1 Green Island (Newman 31)
KT Hotspur 0-1 Caires Sports (A. Davies 70)
Mayo Valley 1-1 Turks’ Club (Szatmári 80; Mirnyi 27)
NAPPC 0-1 Port of Clotaire (Hooper 70)
Radyukevich CSC 1-1 McDonald SC (Narquelie 40; Kenroe 5)
Tenderville United 0-0 Albrecht Turkish

Matchday Eight… First up, headline news saw Zachary Telemans win the sack race and part company with Mayo Valley following defeat at the Solidarity. Mayo sit bottom of the table without a win, though Telemans won’t be mourning about that for too long – having immediately swapped the stability offered by Hodgehill’s first and only for a spell at Alianza Jucaro, over in the ‘gossa.

Yes, we’re calling it “the ‘gossa”, now. For a bit, anyway. We have to try these things out, don’t we?

No word yet on a replacement, which means we can turn our attentions instead to the weekend’s big games – in which Caires City condemned Green Island to their first defeat of the season, and Albrecht FC went down at Harper Street.

Alright, but I didn’t say we’d be turning our attentions there for very long, did I?

Comforting predictability was provided by MarquezOW, whose start is taking on XXXVIII proportions and for whom Alejandro Blanco da Whateveritwas must surely be counting down the seconds now, and who lost, at home to KT Hotspur (how does that even happen?); Caires Sports, who won again; and Radyukevich, who didn’t, and who lost yet another player to a nasty looking injury after Teteo went in horribly hard on Soriano. At this rate, and for all their summer transfer business, Radyukevich will soon be down to the bare bones – and quite possibly literally, after challenges like that.

Albrecht Turkish 1-0 Mayo Valley (Patris and Bavent 48)
Arrigo Portuguese 2-0 Radyukevich CSC (Pembace 68, Anderson 77)
Caires Sports 2-0 Tenderville United (Dariegan 42, Muniz Allman 80)
El din Marbles 0-0 NAPPC
Green Island 0-1 Caires City (González 35)
Marquez-Onwere 0-1 KT Hotspur (Martinez 78)
McDonald SC 1-0 Cathedral City (Subudhi 64)
Port of Clotaire 2-0 Albrecht FC (Hooper 48, Fuller 78)
Turks’ Club 3-2 AFC MN Smith (Wetl 13 and 22, Cotton 72; Vine 25, D. Dunphy 72)

Tarrentum Premier Football League, 2010 Season (Season 1)

The Tarrentum Premier Football League (TPFL) finished up it's first internationally recognized club season earlier this week. The TPFL is made up of 12 teams located throughout the four states of Tarrentum. Football/Soccer in Tarrentum is a mid-level sport with high, but not enormous, numbers of fans who follow the sport through live television, newspapers, merchandise sales and, of course, watching live matches. Most television analysts believe that the fanbase for the sport will continue to grow as long as the National Team continues to perform well in international events, such as the World Cup.

The 12 teams of the TPFL are, with city and state:
  • Napoliroma Imperials (Napoliroma, Tarrentum)
  • FC Yuppers (Florentine, Tarrentum)
  • Krozuy Academics (Krozuy, Krozile)
  • Galitz FCA (Gras-Foren, Krozile)
  • Walli Walli FC (Casslaha, Krozile)
  • Illian Grasshoppers (Husoni, Krozile)
  • FC McSquiggie (Apolln City, Apolln)
  • Lake Empress Brewsers (Lake Empress, Krozile)
  • Mountain FCA (Riori, Tarrentum)
  • Real Marentian (Lower Marentian, Apolln)
  • Tre Da La (Trumboi, Napole)
  • Stevedores FC (Bolonza, Apolln)

The TPFL plays a 33-match season with the leader in points taking the TPFL Trophy at the end. Talk of including a TPFL Cup has been discussed but so far nothing has come of such talks.

The 2010 Season ended with the following standings:
TPFL P W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 FC Yuppers 33 21 8 4 75 40 +35 71 TQCC
2 Napoliroma Imperials 33 18 12 3 65 28 +37 66 GC
3 Krozuy Academics 33 18 7 8 57 34 +23 61
4 Walli Walli FC 33 16 7 10 61 50 +11 55
5 Tre Da La 33 15 7 11 78 69 +9 52
6 Lake Empress Brewsers 33 11 13 9 33 40 −7 46
7 Real Marentian 33 9 12 12 71 81 −10 39
8 Stevedores FC 33 10 8 15 44 52 −8 38
9 FC McSquiggie 33 8 8 17 58 81 −23 32
10 Galitz FCA 33 8 7 18 42 55 −13 31
11 Mountain FCA 33 6 11 16 27 44 −17 29
12 Illian Grasshoppers 33 5 6 22 23 60 −37 21

The League had quite the shake-up this season with FC Yuppers, owned and managed by the magnificent Alexander Italiana, the food industry magnate (YuppersFoodBrands), winning an amazing 21 games and playing to a draw in 8 to become eligible for the TakilQuip Champions Cup. Perennial powers Napoliroma and Krozuy played a good season but were not able to post the wins when they were needed.

Discussions have begun with other 4RUM nations to draw in their teams to the Tarrentum Premier Football League for the next season.

Meddician League Football (MLF) was recently absorbed by the Tarrentum National Football Committee after the Expansionary War two years ago. All teams within the MLF are prohibited from taking part in the TakilQuip Champions' Cup by the TNFC and the UICA but are allowed to participate in the Series B Championship Cup, if they meet a 30-win threshold.

The MLF is made up of eight teams located all in the semi-nation of Meddicia (which Tarrentum is currently trying to incorporate into its fifth state). The MLF plays a gruelling 56-game schedule which takes place over 8 months. Most TPFL clubs use the MLF as a developmental league for their players since the end of the war, a fact that most Meddician's take umbridge towards.

The 8 Meddician League Football clubs, including city:
  • Ventili Blue Stars, Ventili
  • Kulami Boars, Kulami
  • Megoil Roughnecks, Green Plain
  • Kingdom's Own FCA, King's Mountain
  • Sobrieta Sobrieta, North Run
  • PhastPizza Youngboys, Stalen
  • Confrenden Stags, Confrenden
  • Upper Calibri SA, Calibri

The final standings for the 2010 MLF Season:
MLF P W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 Ventili Blue Stars 56 38 10 8 136 60 +76 124 SBCC
2 Kulami Boars 56 34 10 12 141 77 +64 112 SBCC

3 Megoil Roughnecks 56 29 16 11 129 78 +51 103
4 Kingdom's Own FCA 56 21 16 19 115 122 −7 79
5 Sobrieta Sobrieta 56 19 12 25 75 87 −12 69
6 Upper Calibri SA 56 15 14 27 83 110 −27 59
7 Confrenden Stags 56 9 14 33 105 165 −60 41
8 PhastPizza Youngboys 56 8 10 38 86 171 −85 34

For the residents of Meddicia, it was no surprise that the capital city club (Ventili) and the manufacturing center (Kulami) pulled it together and topped the league. The Ventili Boars have been in discussions for two years with the TNFC about joining the TPFL but insiders report that for any team to jump from the MLF to the TPFL they must win 45 games within one season or 100 games in two seasons of play.

SEASON TWO: PART TWO

Matchday Fourteen
Foxchester's run hits a bit of a speed bump, as they can only draw with lowly New Cefn; Mercia take full advantage by pummeling Iskara Daii - a team who seem not to know the meaning of the word "consistency". Emberton Reds keep their charge going, too, with a two-one win over the Eagles.

Results:
Avidia United 1-2 Emberton Reds
Malta Lines 0-2 Cedrus Soundgardia
Hallad Reavers 1-3 Casuals Osteria
Iskara Daii 2-5 Mercia Bromham
Foxchester Raiders 2-2 New Cefn Albion
Corinthian Spirits 0-4 Telecontarë
Royal Emberton 3-1 Beckton Supermarine
FC Farça 0-0 Jhanna City
Stanton Town 0-1 Caledon Simpson
Internashionale 0-1 Beverington Hawks
Tabeck FC 3-0 Avidia City
Bradwell Saints 2-5 Ousevale Borough

Matchday Fifteen
Second meets third...the winner is to be found elsewhere. The Raiders take full advantage of the two-all draw at the Isserson and leapfrog Reds and Mercia to go back to second. At the other end, Beckton's defeat puts them bottom as Avidia City claim only their second win of the season against Stanton. Remember when the Dockers were good? Us neither.

Results:
Emberton Reds 2-2 Mercia Bromham
Cedrus Soundgardia 3-2 Casuals Osteria
Malta Lines 2-3 Avidia United
New Cefn Albion 2-0 Hallad Reavers
Telecontarë 3-1 Iskara Daii
Beckton Supermarine 1-3 Foxchester Raiders
Jhanna City 1-1 Corinthian Spirits
Caledon Simpson 1-1 Royal Emberton
Beverington Hawks 1-1 FC Farça
Avidia City 2-1 Stanton Town
Ousevale Borough 3-4 Internashionale
Tabeck FC 0-0 Bradwell Saints

Matchday Sixteen
Telecontarë drop points for only the second time this season, being held to a draw by Emberton Reds. The result does neither side much good, as Foxchester close the gap to four points, and Mercia beat Malta Lines to retake third spot. Normal service is resumed at the bottom, as Beckton reave the Reavers to plant Avidia City back at the foot of the table.

Results:
Telecontarë 1-1 Emberton Reds
New Cefn Albion 2-0 Cedrus Soundgardia
Mercia Bromham 2-0 Malta Lines
Casuals Osteria 2-2 Avidia United
Hallad Reavers 1-2 Beckton Supermarine
Iskara Daii 2-1 Jhanna City
Foxchester Raiders 4-1 Caledon Simpson
Corinthian Spirits 2-2 Beverington Hawks
Royal Emberton 2-1 Avidia City
FC Farça 0-3 Ousevale Borough
Stanton Town 0-4 Tabeck FC
Bradwell Saints 1-0 Internashionale

Matchday Seventeen
Beverington was the place to be for the neutral this week; the Hawks and the Daii played out a stonker, Iskara twice coming back from behind to win by the odd goal in nine. Ousevale's comprehensive win over Corinthian Spirits has people wondering how they're only sixth, and the top three all have nice routine wins.

Results:
Emberton Reds 3-2 Jhanna City
Cedrus Soundgardia 2-1 Beckton Supermarine
Malta Lines 0-1 Telecontarë
Avidia United 2-1 New Cefn Albion
Casuals Osteria 0-1 Mercia Bromham
Caledon Simpson 3-5 Hallad Reavers
Beverington Hawks 4-5 Iskara Daii
Avidia City 1-2 Foxchester Raiders
Ousevale Borough 6-1 Corinthian Spirits
Tabeck FC 0-1 Royal Emberton
Internashionale 2-2 FC Farça
Stanton Town 0-0 Bradwell Saints

Matchday Eighteen
Iskara Daii, welcome to the history books. A week after making Beverington the first club to score four in a Liga Calania match and lose, the Jhanna club becomes the second, scoring four but conceding seven to the rampant Tigers of Ousevale. They weren't the only team to hiccough though; Mercia lost to New Cefn at Parc Abertawy, a result that drops the visitors to fourth and catapults Albion to ninth place and the chance of UICA football next season. Telecontarë get away with a draw against Casuals as Foxchester fail to beat Tabeck; Emberton Reds beat the Hawks to put themselves just five points off the leaders.

Results:
Beverington Hawks 0-2 Emberton Reds
Caledon Simpson 1-1 Cedrus Soundgardia
Jhanna City 3-0 Malta Lines
Beckton Supermarine 2-0 Avidia United
Telecontarë 1-1 Casuals Osteria
New Cefn Albion 3-2 Mercia Bromham
Hallad Reavers 2-0 Avidia City
Iskara Daii 4-7 Ousevale Borough
Foxchester Raiders 1-1 Tabeck FC
Corinthian Spirits 2-5 Internashionale
Royal Emberton 1-2 Stanton Town
Bradwell Saints 1-1 FC Farça

Matchday Nineteen
Stanton Town may live on past memories and the family Kennedy, but sometimes they just pull out a result that makes your head spin. That, of course, will be scant consolation to Foxchester fans, who see the Raiders drop from second to fourth as they get turned over two-one at the Harbour Stadium. A routine win for the elves keeps them top, whilst it's the Reds in second after they beat Ousevale.

Results:
Emberton Reds 2-1 Ousevale Borough
Cedrus Soundgardia 1-2 Avidia City
Malta Lines 2-1 Beverington Hawks
Avidia United 3-0 Caledon Simpson
Casuals Osteria 1-2 Jhanna City
Mercia Bromham 4-1 Beckton Supermarine
New Cefn Albion 0-3 Telecontarë
Tabeck FC 2-2 Hallad Reavers
Internashionale 4-3 Iskara Daii
Stanton Town 2-1 Foxchester Raiders
FC Farça 4-4 Corinthian Spirits
Royal Emberton 0-3 Bradwell Saints

Matchday Twenty
Bromham are back! The Midlanders hit Caledon Simpson for nine, but are still third after wins for the Reds and Telecontarë. Foxchester edged a stonker against the Royals to keep hanging on to the coat-tails of the top three.

Results:
Internashionale 0-1 Emberton Reds
Tabeck FC 2-3 Cedrus Soundgardia
Ousevale Borough 1-0 Malta Lines
Avidia City 1-3 Avidia United
Beverington Hawks 2-3 Casuals Osteria
Caledon Simpson 2-9 Mercia Bromham
Jhanna City 4-3 New Cefn Albion
Beckton Supermarine 2-5 Telecontarë
Hallad Reavers 3-2 Stanton Town
Iskara Daii 3-2 FC Farça
Foxchester Raiders 4-3 Royal Emberton
Bradwell Saints 2-3 Corinthian Spirits

Matchday Twenty-One
Turn and turn again, as second place gains a new tenant. This time, it's Mercia in position number two, as they took advantage of Reds' flub against twenty-first placed Farça. Telecontarë keep their serene bearing towards the title with an effortless victory over Simpson.

Results:
Emberton Reds 2-3 FC Farça
Cedrus Soundgardia 1-1 Stanton Town
Malta Lines 0-0 Internashionale
Avidia United 0-0 Tabeck FC
Casuals Osteria 1-5 Ousevale Borough
Mercia Bromham 3-0 Avidia City
New Cefn Albion 2-0 Beverington Hawks
Telecontarë 5-1 Caledon Simpson
Beckton Supermarine 1-2 Jhanna City
Royal Emberton 2-2 Hallad Reavers
Corinthian Spirits 1-2 Iskara Daii
Foxchester Raiders 3-0 Bradwell Saints

Matchday Twenty-Two
One game before the halfway point, historians could well look back at this season and say this was the point Telecontarë won the title. OK, there's still seventy-two points to play for, but with Mercia losing to Tabeck, Reds drawing with Corinth, Raiders sharing the points with Hallad Reavers, and the elves routinely stuffing bottom-placed Avidia City, it's not looking good for the chasing pack as Tele go nine clear.

Results:
Corinthian Spirits 2-2 Emberton Reds
Royal Emberton 2-0 Cedrus Soundgardia
FC Farça 1-2 Malta Lines
Stanton Town 2-0 Avidia United
Internashionale 3-1 Casuals Osteria
Tabeck FC 3-2 Mercia Bromham
Ousevale Borough 1-0 New Cefn Albion
Avidia City 1-5 Telecontarë
Beverington Hawks 0-0 Beckton Supermarine
Caledon Simpson 0-2 Jhanna City
Hallad Reavers 1-1 Foxchester Raiders
Bradwell Saints 1-4 Iskara Daii

Matchday Twenty-Three
The Krytenian chasers find their shooting boots (four for the Reds, six for Bromham), but Tele stubbornly refuse to drop points against Tabeck. Big winners of the week are Ousevale Borough; they overtake Iskara Daii into fifth...but are still a mammoth fifteen points off top spot.

Results:
Emberton Reds 4-1 Iskara Daii
Cedrus Soundgardia 1-1 Foxchester Raiders
Malta Lines 0-1 Corinthian Spirits
Avidia United 0-1 Royal Emberton
Casuals Osteria 3-1 FC Farça
Mercia Bromham 6-1 Stanton Town
New Cefn Albion 2-0 Internashionale
Telecontarë 4-0 Tabeck FC
Beckton Supermarine 0-3 Ousevale Borough
Jhanna City 3-1 Avidia City
Caledon Simpson 0-4 Beverington Hawks
Hallad Reavers 3-1 Bradwell Saints

HYDRO SUPER LEAGUE - EIGHTH SEASON (PART IV OF IV)

Clausura Tournament

MD11:

Slateport 1-1 Bezieres
Tannenberg 3-2 Eterna
Canalave 3-0 Gatineau
Fontvielle 1-0 Alligators
Nord Energie 1-1 Nacional
Cardenales 2-3 Olympique
Cerro 1-0 Pradera
Marinos 2-0 Pumas
Chiquito 1-2 Caimanes
Vaud 1-2 Valencia

Bezieres and Slateport Bulls, first and second placed in the Clausura, were facing each other in the most important match in the day. The 1-1 draw benefits Bezieres, who keep their first place, while at the same time it hurts the Bulls, who lost their second place to Tannenberg. The "Citizens" returned to the second place thanks to this draw and their victory over Eterna Stars. Fontvielle Impact dealt a hard blow to the Alligators, who fall behind with only 21 points. However, the MA have the first option to qualify for the Globe Cup, as they are five points clear of Canalave, Tannenberg and Nacional. Valencia are getting closer to Nord Energie, Vaud and Gatineau, who are out of the relegation zone for the moment.

MD12:

Caimanes 1-0 Vaud
Cerro 2-1 Chiquito
Cardenales 0-2 Eterna
Canalave 2-1 Fontvielle
Bezieres 1-0 Marinos
Slateport 1-0 Nacional
Olympique 1-1 Nord Energie
Gatineau 0-1 Pradera
Pumas 1-2 Tannenberg
Alligators 2-0 Valencia

Bezieres are still on top, and getting closer to the Clausura title and the TQCC spot. Tannenberg FC and Slateport Bulls, trying to ammend the disaster done the last season, are second and third, respectively. The Alligators, Tannenberg and Canalave Dragons have taken advantage in the fight for the Globe Cup spots, while Nacional, Eterna and Marinos are in the tightrope, while Valencia, Pumas and Cardenales are closer to the B-League.

MD13:

Slateport 1-0 Cerro
Nord Energie 0-0 Bezieres
Alligators 1-0 Vaud
Olympique 1-1 Eterna
Chiquito 2-1 Fontvielle
Tannenberg 2-0 Gatineau
Nacional 1-2 Marinos
Cardenales 1-1 Pumas
Pradera 2-3 Caimanes
Canalave 1-0 Valencia

With Bezieres' draw in Toril and Slateport's and Tannenberg's victories, we've got a triple tie in the first place, with 31 points each. In the Overall Standings, the Alligators, with 70 points, are close to clinch a spot in the next season of UICA competitions. Canalave and Tannenberg are four points clear of Slateport, who have the AFI spot for now. Interestingly, Nacional, Marinos and the Stars are involved in the fight for that spot as well.

MD14:

Vaud 1-1 Canalave
Bezieres 3-0 Cardenales
Valencia 0-1 Chiquito
Cerro 1-1 Marinos
Pradera 1-1 Nacional
Eterna 4-0 Nord Energie
Pumas 1-2 Olympique
Alligators 1-0 Caimanes
Gatineau 2-1 Slateport
Fontvielle 3-1 Tannenberg

Bezieres are sole leaders again, thanks to their victory over Cardenales and Slateport's and Tannenberg's defeats in Gatineau and Fontvielle, respectively. Metropolis Alligators (and Bezieres) need one victory more to assure their presence in UICA competitions the next season, while a six-team race for two spots in the next Globe Cup and the AFI spot is being developed between Canalave, Tannenberg, Eterna, Slateport, Marinos and Nacional. With the shattering defeat in Bezieres, Cardenales were sunk by "Les Rouges" in the last place in the Overall Standings, getting closer to the abyss.

MD15:

Tannenberg 1-0 Bezieres
Chiquito 1-0 Vaud
Cerro 1-2 Cardenales
Slateport 0-1 Fontvielle
Marinos 4-1 Gatineau
Pradera 1-3 Alligators
Olympique 0-2 Nacional
Valencia 1-1 Nord Energie
Eterna 2-0 Pumas
Canalave 2-2 Caimanes

After 15 matches in this Clausura, Bezieres (finally!) lost a match. Their unbeaten streak come to an end at the Olympic Stadium with their loss to Tannenberg. That result equals both teams in points in this Clausura, with 34 points each. Metropolis Alligators are third, with one point less than the leaders, and close to qualify for UICA competitions. Meanwhile, the fight for the GC-AFI spots seems to be now for the AFI berth only, since Tannenberg and Canalave have taken advantage to their rivals in the Overall Standings. With the unexpected victory in Metropolis, Cardenales need to win their last four matches to continue in the Super League the next season.

MD16:

Tannenberg 1-1 Cerro
Alligators 1-1 Canalave
Nacional 2-1 Cardenales
Gatineau 0-0 Chiquito
Bezieres 1-0 Eterna
Valencia 0-2 Marinos
Fontvielle 1-1 Olympique
Vaud 1-0 Pradera
Nord Energie 1-1 Pumas
Caimanes 2-1 Slateport

Bezieres' victory over Eterna Stars helped "Les Rouges" to get closer to their first participation in the TQCC, taking advantage of Tannenberg's draw with Cerro. Despite the draw 1-1 at the Dome, the Alligators managed to assure their presence in the Globe Cup, at least. The irregularity of both Tannenberg and Canalave allowed Marinos and Nacional to get close to the GC places, while Eterna and Slateport are reeling. Cardenales will return to the B-League the next season, after their loss to Nacional and Vaud's victory over Pradera. With only 15 points in the whole year, if they won all their matches, Cardenales would only get 24 points at the end of the season, one less than Nord Energie FC.

MD17:

Olympique 1-1 Bezieres
Marinos 2-0 Vaud
Canalave 1-0 Chiquito
Cerro 1-2 Eterna
Nord Energie 0-1 Fontvielle
Cardenales 1-0 Gatineau
Slateport 2-1 Alligators
Pumas 0-1 Nacional
Tannenberg 1-2 Caimanes
Pradera 2-0 Valencia

AS Bezieres are closer than never to the title of the Clausura, despite their draw in Fontvielle. "Les Rouges" are in the lead with 38 points, and a victory in the next match would give them the title and the right to be the second valladar representative in the next TQCC. The fight for the other GC-AFI spots is hotter, since Canalave and Tannenberg allowed Marinos, Nacional, Eterna and Slateport to give them chase. Second relegated team to the B-League: Pumas...and second team relegated by Nacional. Valencia are now in a compromising situation, with 20 points, while Nord Energie (17th) have five points more, with two matches left...

MD18:

Pradera 0-1 Canalave
Fontvielle 4-1 Cardenales
Alligators 2-0 Chiquito
Caimanes 1-1 Marinos
Eterna 2-0 Nacional

The draw with Tannenberg doomed Valencia FC, while five teams will fight for the remaining spots for the GC and the AFI.

1785 season

Note: The Commonwealth Cup was not staged in 1785 due to a lack of funds. It is expected to return in 1786.

Prior to the start of this season, the VTF instituted a change in its tiebreaker policies. Results between teams will now be used as the first tiebreaker, then goal difference, and finally number of wins.

Image

Cirbeod have successfully set a new record for Gold League futility, losing an astounding 36 of their 38 matches and failing to win a single one. VTF officials have become concerned about the barrier between the Gold and White Leagues being far too large as a result, and they are expected to investigate the situation before the start of the 1786 season.

In the First Round, incipient Second Division champions Tîm Cymru fell at the first hurdle at Elwell Harriers. Similarly, Moorcroft City, soon to be promoted in second, lost 3-2 at home to Culshaw Town. Other shocks included Flockton Flavell's 3-2 win at Felton, Stanley University's 3-2 replay win at Bradley Swifts and Knifton Town's penalty shootout win over Ashton Rovers.

First Round
Crompton Town 1-2 Kirkham Town
Eastham College of Technology 2-1 Markham University
St. Martin University 1-2 Stanley Athletic
Underwood Town 0-0 East Snaith
Replay: East Snaith 2-2 Underwood Town (2-2 AET) (East Snaith wins 1-0 on penalty kicks)
Elwell Harriers 4-2 Tîm Cymru

Combined Armed Forces 3-3 Anderton United

Ashton Rovers 1-1 Knifton Town
Replay: Knifton Town 0-0 Ashton Rovers (0-0 AET) (Knifton Town wins 1-0 on penalty kicks)
Moorcroft City 2-3 Culshaw Town

So on to the banana skin that is the Second Round. Elwell continued their form with a 5-3 win against Civil Service, while St. Andrew's' woes continued with a 2-1 replay loss at Stanley University. Not wishing to miss out, Flockton Flavell defeated Moorcroft Wanderers 3-2 in a replay. Eastham College's 5-1 defeat of Walton should have been viewed as a shock, but given Walton's recent form, perhaps not. Finally, Sephton County ensured the lineup of the past two finals would not be repeated with a 2-1 win at Taylor's Cross.

Second Round
Houghton Hawks 2-2 West Coast Angels
Replay: West Coast Angels 1-2 Houghton Hawks
Elwell Harriers 5-3 Civil Service
Hyland Town 1-4 Redwood Forest
St. Andrew's 0-0 Stanley University
Replay: Stanley University 1-1 St. Andrew's (2-1 AET)

Replay: Houghton Kestrels 3-1 Wolverton Town
Flockton Flavell 2-2 Moorcroft Wanderers
Replay: Moorcroft Wanderers 2-3 Flockton Flavell
Etruria 3-4 Stanley United
Walton 1-5 Eastham College of Technology
Taylor's Cross 1-2 Sephton County
Mort Park 5-0 St. Martin Athletic
Kirkham Town 1-4 New Toronto
Stanley Athletic 0-3 Currie

Now the serious business begins. No shocks to speak of - unless Banks losing to Currie counts, but then again, they are in the same league.

Third Round
Currie 2-0 Banks
Flockton Flavell 0-2 Sephton County
AFC Stanton 4-3 Stanley University
Markham 3-0 Eastham College of Technology
Bradley Hornets 0-2 Redwood Forest
Houghton Kestrels 2-2 Stanley United
Replay: Stanley United 2-2 Houghton Kestrels (2-2 AET) (Stanley United wins 1-0 on penalty kicks)
Mort Park 3-0 Elwell Harriers
New Toronto 2-1 Houghton Hawks

Only one of the so-called Big Five remained after the Quarter-Finals, making Stanley United favourites.

Quarter-Final
Markham 1-3 Stanley United
AFC Stanton 2-3 New Toronto
Sephton County 1-3 Currie
Redwood Forest 4-3 Mort Park

As the Semi-Final proved - just.

Semi-Final
Redwood Forest 4-1 Currie
Currie 3-1 Redwood Forest
Aggregate: Redwood Forest 5-4 Currie

New Toronto 3-1 Stanley United
Stanley United 3-1 New Toronto (4-1 AET)
Aggregate: New Toronto 4-5 Stanley United

Well, we all know what Redwood are capable of in these competitions. Were they this time?
Well, no.

Final
Redwood Forest 1-2 Stanley United (at Ellis Park, St. Martin)

Playoff and Academic League news shortly, but for now, here are the global qualifiers:

TQCC: Mort Park, Banks.

SBCC: Tîm Cymru, Moorcroft City, Felton Athletic, Crompton Town.
Aeropag Invitational (subject to acceptance): Markham.

Liventian Football League season 12

What a turnaround! The defending First Division champions, Orean United, had a miserable season, finishing last in the table, albeit just 14 points off the champions WTFC and just one point shy of safety. The two promoted teams from last time, Bede City and Pardbo, both had successful seasons.

Image

QUALIFIERS
TQCC: Western Territories FC (others, if any, TBD)
GC: TBD
SBCC: Schimpol, Folenisa, Dover City/Jesner Town*
IUCC: Folenisa University, Cyclonesville University, Schimpol University

*Dover City qualified for the JUST UICA joint qualifying with five Ad’ihani teams. Should they qualify for the TQCC or GC, Jesner will become Liventia's third SBCC entrant. Should they finish 9th or 10th in the JUST league, Dover City would qualify for the SBCC and Jesner Town would not qualify.

The start of a brand new season! Great! Let's see what the NUMPTIES League brings us this time! “…” Abolished? Whatcha mean, abolished? “…” The Rushmore Overseas Football League? What kind of rubbish is that? Since when do we play with foreigners in a league... “…” Shuttup about NAPPC and Tenderville, that's something completely different. So, who's in this competition. “…” Logria, New Fenton, Sofnikos Anaxaux, Tyoduura and Nethertopia? But, isn't that a clean sweep for Nethertopia? “...” What? So you're saying that they've provided good teams? No way! Argh... Silly foreigners... I kinda start to feel what C&M is going through. “...” Specific rules? Explaining them? OK, if I must...

OK, apparently... There's two TQCC spots to give away. That's not a lot, innit? Oh, wait, here it says that Tenderville and NAPPC have guaranteed spots and that the other two ROFL spots go to nations not from Nethertopia. Bah. So we have 6 Globe Cup spots, of which four can go to Nethertopia max? Well, that's sweet. Ah, here I read that the last three spots relegate to their retrospective second divisions, except for FKSX and ? Well, that doesn't seem fair, does it? Oh well... At least can't qualify for UICA competitions, it can't.

So, we've listed the club on alphabetic order, with their name, their original country, their formation and starting XI. If any foreigners are on the team, their nationality is noted. And a little info about the club. We wanted to do it in nice colours, but apparently we've lost the Logrian logos. Bugger. Anyway, should the rest do the trick? I most certainly think so! Woo!
Players listed from right to left were possible.

1st New Fenton Unit
New Fenton
4-4-2
Carter --- Buchanan – Armstrong – Simmons – Benet --- Morris – Wills – Dyer – James --- Kirk - Carpenter
Well, since they're a military team an' all, we can suspect a lot of physical play from this team. No wussie style play, straight out for the ball, brawls, all those clichés. They're supposed to finish somewhere on a decent position, and the predictions are that they'll claim a safe spot somewhere, preferably above low-mid table please?

AC Palliston
Logria
4-4-2
Diamond --- Jones -Saunders – Hendry – Coleman --- Lightbourne – Coleman – Ball – Malcolm --- Caine – Nicholls
AC Palliston. They're coming into our competition, expecting to win. Well, actually, we can't really call it our competition anymore now, can we? Well, since us lovely Nethertopians kind of initiated it, we'll still consider it our competition! Muhaha! Anyway, Palliston is a title contender. On a side note, we're wondering if the Coleman and Coleman are related. We will aks the Logrians if they have time for us.

Ashdom City
Nethertopia
4-1-3-2
Smith (SNL) --- Stimets – Winnink – Brout – Riebeck --- Wittstock --- De Baun – Komáromi (PAS) – Kuipers --- Mouritse – McHale (WEE)
The winners of the NUMPTIES League season 2 look like they're falling apart. After a disappointing season 3 (sixth place) they don't seem to have become better. The fact that their holding midfielder, André Wittstock, is 40 years old doesn't look good either. They're going to have to look out: Relegation isn't too far away for this team.

Avenell Garrison
Logria
4-3-3
Moon --- Blood – Gale – Mailer – Carrick --- Wallis – Ruddock – Francis – Knowles --- Bent - Percival
Logrians and their high expectations... Avenell Garrison wants a Globe Cup spot, and apparently they'll have the strengths to go ahead and support that kind of presumptions. Let's hope for them that they can do well. Or let's not, actually. Also, the name Moon made the writer giggle uncontrollably.

Blue-White Udenbergen
Nethertopia
4-4-3
Bloodgood --- Andries – Reiziger – Blank - Malone (C&M) --- Buchanan (SNL) – Beakes – Bongert – Tietsort --- Hoppe – Troncoso (SRG)
This club is destined to be on the right side of the table. They're not bad, but they're not especially good either. The club remains his hope on their foreigners, with Candelariasian Adam Malone captaining the team. Let's see what they can do.

Eccleston Orient
Logria
4-4-2
Sawyer --- Brown – Rivers – Fenwick – Avery --- Fletcher – Almond – Greaves – Singer --- Evans - Ronson
Orient are expected to play for the title as well, and at least finish a top four position. Bleh. Stupid strong Logrians and their powerplay. Or defensive play. Or strong play. We don't know, really. We just know that they are awfully strong. I don't like awfully strong teams that are not from Nethertopia. But since we agreed to play against them... Silly money-spinning deals these days...

FC DePardenti
Nethertopia
4-4-2 Diamond
Wolthers --- Richardson (C&M) – Boymans – Winne – McCormack (WEE) --- Bastinov (SOM) – Abrahamse – Jones (C&M) – Bastinov (SOM) --- Martense – Van Goens
FC DePardenti look decent. Their surprising second place finish last year, after two horrible seasons seems to have some promise for the future. They have a nice mixed team of young and old, foreigners and Nethies. They'll be looking out for a Globe Cup spot.

Football Club of Sofnikos Anaxaux
Sofnikos Anaxaux
4-4-2
Mormon --- Patapoupolous – Sciatelli – Yttrb – Apple --- Armini – Boutros – Archimendon – Azzurrini --- Luigi – Pescatore
Um. So. Yeah. Apart from their funny names, we pretty much know nothing about this team. They're apparently not very good, but decent enough to be counted as dark horses. But whether that's for a Globe Cup spot, the Championship or something completely different, we don't know. What we do know is that they're protected from relegation.

New Fenton Town FC
New Fenton
4-4-2
Watson --- Brennan – Clough – Cunningham – Green --- Smith – Watson – Dixon – Milton --- Simpson - Keen
This team is technically very strong, looking for a paced game with a lot of tricks and attacks down the sideline. Or at least, we suspect so. If not, well, then they'll still do it since we said it right here. Um. Anyway, we're expecting New Fenton Town on a position comfortably away from the relegation teams, but still lower-mid table.

Peregrinus City Marbles
Nethertopia
4-3-3
Bruce (WEE) --- Koch (PAS) – Musser – Talisker (WEE) – Delamater --- Valleau – Gia (UNR) – Van Heemskerck --- Van't Veer – Hessels – Wouterse
The Marbles, named after the Candelariasian club in El din... What to say about them? After two consecutive third place finishes, they sold Ab Rau and surprised with an eighth spot last year. Their team isn't getting any younger either and without the young talented midfielder they seem doomed to play relegation football.

Ratos Island Seaside
Nethertopia
4-1-3-2
Tibout --- Seran – Shreve – Ageet - Bombe --- Mylin --- Ogilvie (WEE) – Harmanse – Quiñónez (C&M) --- Ivanov (SNL) – Doars
Well, the Smaller team from Tenderville looks like it has a balanced team. The danger really has to come from Sorthern striker Vitaly Ivanov, while Matthijs Tibout has proven himself to be a decent goalie over the course of the NUMPTIES years.

SVV Stoedt
Nethertopia
5-3-2
Zenden --- Van Soust – Van Buren – Shurte – Vries – Mares --- Holst – Johnson (C&M) – Hooper (SNL) --- Lubberts – Scheepers
SVV Stoedt have performed consistently in their NUMPTIES period; finishing 4th, 5th and 5th respectively. They once again seem to be ready for a mid-table season, especially since all of their starting defenders are aged over 29.

Select FC
Tyoduura
4-3-3
Faasturiis --- Raetaa Vataal – Woosner – Rydouwaa – Astureta --- Kriino – Kriist – Reneford --- Randiino – Pisa'oliis – Aeutangwe
This team is quite good, actually. About half the team played in the last edition of the Copa Rushmori, so they're pretty representative for Tyoduura. They're left-side table candidates, that's for sure. Too bad they can't qualify for the UICA competitions, they might have had a shot at a Globe Cup spot.

September Hawks
Nethertopia
4-1-4-1
Brentjens --- Maagia (SOM) – Herque – Bruin – Noldt --- Groen --- Vroeman – Garrett (C&M) – Finney (WEE) – Sneden --- Keemer
The Hawks, a Somewhereistonian owned club, have been under-performing since the start of the NUMPTIES. They always seemed to have promise, but they somehow never got around to showing how good they actually are. The experts expect a Globe Cup run-in, but somehow we wouldn't be surprised if the Hawks ended up battling for a spot in the upper half of the table.

Sportivo Gretor
Nethertopia
4-4-2 Defensive
Meléndez (SRG) --- Yonkman – Rycke – Moerenhout – Bobabilla (SRG) --- Frederiks – Santos (SRG) – Burbano (SRG) – Cuesta (SRG) --- Blaikie – Altosaar (SOM)
Most definitely the team with the best players in it. They cashed in some serious cash after their long Globe Cup runs last season, leaving them with money to burn. They spent it on three Sargossans from NAPPC, thus giving the Sargossan-owned club an even more blue-white colour. Their play with two holding midfielders is bound to give them a lot of 1-0 victories and they're title contenders #1.

The Grey Towers
Nethertopia
4-3-3
Van Vorst --- Schoon – Gootblod – Wiese – Roos --- Tätarni (SOM) – Parra (SRG) – Wouda --- Reijerss – Vraciu (C&M) – Paesen
The Grey Towers are one of the teams that can rightfully claim the title of contender. They have a pretty balanced team and are despite their 4-3-3 formation quite defensive. Their multinational three men midfield looks like their strongest point.

VVV Ran
Nethertopia
4-3-1-2
Snyder – Vink – Costello (SNL) – Haward – Bekker --- Manus – De Sille – Fluitsma --- De Goeij – Bomberger – Van Mourik
They finished dead last in the final NUMPTIES season. What else did you expect, using only three defenders and no foreigners in their starting XI? This season they were smart enough to field Sorthern defender Simon Costello, but that probably won't protect them from going down.
Sporting achievements:
Third in WC51. That's about it. I think we once won the inaugural Table Tennis World Cup as well?

2046 Sorthern football season

Shield

Goals! Lots of them! Not that it's a surprise, how on Earth did Tetherton actually manage to win the SNFA Cup last season? Doping probably. Qé qé qé QÉLÉ!

Snowspire Communal 5-1 Tetherton

Sorthern Football League Division One

Snowspire attracted a fair amount of ridicule when they adopted the Communal moniker last season. It showcases that the team is one for the whole Snowspire community the club climbed. It sounds stupid your average barstool pundit done the Dog & Duck, the Jolly Turk, or the Bostopian's Head or whatever you local is called claimed. Snowspire probably weren't complaining when their 'stupid' new name ended up being carved onto the Division One trophy. And they probably weren't this season either.

So the lesson learnt from this? Changing your name apparently turns you from also rans to perennial champions.

Convincing champions as well. The only other team to top the table at any point throughout the season was James Connolly (who will soon be known as Pádraig Pearse, perhaps), and they were only top for the first three matches of the season, and let's be frank, tables don't actually count at that point.

Elsewhere Beningrad managed to rescue Lewis O'Hara from St. Patrick's rather sunken ship at the end of the last season before he was forced to walk the gangway. Or shoved off the gangway to be more accurate. Given his performance at Port of Clotaire's feeder club last season it was no surprise to then see Beningrad instilled as relegation favourites. So for them to finish third is quite some achievement really. Though their fans probably still don't think they're back where they belong. In fact with the SNFA being reduced to just two TQCC entrants they're not even in the global competition they feel they belong in.

Still, it gives them something to march on the streets protesting about during the off-season. Bless.

And further elsewhere..... meh, it's taken long enough to get round to writing about the teams in first and third, screw the others.

SFL Division Two

And there were St. Pat's thinking last season was a dodgy one. The simple statistics of the matter are, four managers, three chairman, one dead, one imprisoned for murdering the former one and one clearly worried he's going to lose his marbles, two stands burnt down, two year old loanees who caused numerous problems and publicity for the local nightclubs, a debt of 984 SN Rubles to the local library for an overdue travel guidebook, and a second relegation in as many seasons. And not even a miraculous run to the Cup final to lift the spirits. A matchday 34 1-0 away win over Red Star Cork that saw them briefly up to the lofty heights of 19th was probably the highlight of the season, and even though was only thanks to the Red Star keep dropping a wayward cross inexplicably into his own net.

A rather disastrous season by anyone's books then. Still, on the bright side they're the only one of the three relegated teams that anyone will miss.

The three promoted teams meanwhile will lead to numerous people wondering what the hell they're doing in the top flight next season. As seems to happen just about every season.

SFL Division Three

Nothing too interesting happened in the Third (Cobh, Sundol and Amica fans are free to disagree on this by the way) so let's quote some Azeri pop music instead.

I never want to be all alone
Never go away
I found the only place where I belong
Boy, you know just what to say
You're the only one that holds the key
To unlock my doors
So open up the gates and set me free
And I'll love you even more

We're fallin' together
I'm callin' your name forever
So take me to heaven
Tell me I'm yours forever
We're fallin', caress me
Touch me and say you love me
So take me to heaven
And tell me I'm yours forever

There, isn't that nice? Now, BRING ON THE TRUMPETS!

SFL Division Four

Last season of course saw the first relegation out of the Sorthern Football League when Durness Pottery finished bottom for the third season in a row and were effectively told to naff of. The SNFA and SFL then controversially chose TaquilKip Casuals, a club with history or anything as their replacements. Critics claimed that the so called club was nothing more than an attempt to sully the SFL with advertising for the remarkably similarly named Paripanan sports retailer, TakilQuip. The SNFA and SFL though dismissed these claims and gladly welcomed them into the League.

And were left with no small amount of egg on their face when Taqungo Finance, the supposed backers of the club, didn't actually exist and whoever was responsible for the club did a runner. With the club failing to exist even until the end of the season they were expelled from the League with their record expunged, and the points other teams had won against them effectively made null and void. This proved to be controversial with Temol Colliery and Bannabridge, both of whom won their match against TaquilKip eventually missing out on promotion by goal difference. Castford meanwhile, picked up just a point from drawing their match against TaquilKip.

Whilst Castford haven't had any complaints over the decision to expunge the Casuals record, Temol and Bannabridge are understood to be considering legal action against the SNFA and SFL.

Those two parties presumably will be looking to choose TaquilKip Casuals replacement with rather more care.

Dreyher Island League

Defending has never been a strength in the repertoire of Dreyher footballers. Any Yaforite tourists holidaying in the lonely windswept isles this season though will have been particularly shocked by some of the defending in Huntscove's rather failed title defence attempt.

Sorthern Cup

The Sorthern Cup wasn't made a mockery of this season by a bunch of mid-tabling lower division also-ran country bumpkins winning it. Hurrah! Instead the Cup will be taking up residence for the next year or so in the otherwise pretty much empty trophy cabinet of erm... a bunch of mid-tabling Division One also ran country bumpkins.

Still, it'd get boring if the same old big clubs won it more than once every couple of seasons wouldn't it?

Sorthern Union of Students Football League

Whilst they might claim to have the multiverse's smallest league over in Dreyher, they clearly haven't taken into account the Students Football League. To tell the truth, those remote island folk probably just want some attention.

Bleeding Obvious then pick up their Margaret knows how manyth title (sixth is Nswiki is to be believed), whilst Catalans finally qualify for the IUCC after missing out on goal difference two seasons in a row. Université francophone meanwhile act as the not quite traditional but regular second Beningrad qualifier.

Welcome back to the SuperLiga's matchday sixteen extravaganza! To be honest we can't' really back that up. It's just the, not at all i'm sure, arbitrary point we chose to pick up the action. Talking of action let's get stuck in to where the unlikeliest of title challenges is taking place.

In Daroca the Marinos are on one heck of a roll. Ignacio Blanco's Segunda Liga champions are oozing class right now, with the returning Alberto Herráez particularly impressive. The Daroca native has always been a bit of an enigma but when on song he's a real nightmare as Sporting certainly discovered. The former El din Marble scored one and set up Sergio Delgado for the second as the Fishermen maintained their four point lead. Behind them Deportivo Soluca scraped a win to keep pace while Alianza Jucaro and Ciudad Soluca, the latter building up an ominous head of steam, secured impressive victories to go third and fourth respectively.

Matchday 16
Daroca Marinos 2-0 Sporting San Marquez
Racing Soluca 1-2 Dunas Del Sol
Deportivo Soluca 2-1 Rubio Bayamo
Ciudad Jucaro 0-3 Mercadel S.C.
El Nacional 1-0 Dínamo Maturín
S.C. Motril 4-0 Sportivo Maturín
Estrella Torreón 0-2 Ciudad Soluca
Nuevo Onwere 3-3 Porto Alegro Azul
Deportivo Cordova 1-2 Jaguarés
Alianza Jucaro 4-1 Petro Mercada

That slight popping you may have missed was the sound of the Marinos bubble well and truly bursting in Bayamo. In Dunas Hane Davis' Ciudad empathically ended the home side's resurgence after a poor start and Alejandro Hevia became the first managerial victim after the Azul lost in San Marquez.

Matchday 17
Sporting San Marquez 2-0 Porto Alegro Azul
Dunas Del Sol 0-5 Ciudad Soluca
Rubio Bayamo 4-1 Daroca Marinos
Mercadel S.C. 1-1 Racing Soluca
Dínamo Maturín 1-0 Deportivo Soluca
Sportivo Maturín 2-3 Ciudad Jucaro
S.C. Motril 1-3 El Nacional
Jaguarés 0-1 Estrella Torreón
Petro Mercada 3-2 Nuevo Onwere
Deportivo Cordova 2-1 Alianza Jucaro

Deportivo Soluca edge past Motril to go a point behind the Marinos who suffer a second successive battering. Meanwhile Ciudad's run of wins stretches to seven, the managerless Azul get the three points in Porto Alegro and champions El Nacional, unstoppable in the TakilQuip Champion's Cup, falter again domestically.

Matchday 18
Petro Mercada 1-1 Sporting San Marquez
Jaguarés 0-3 Dunas Del Sol
Porto Alegro Azul 3-1 Rubio Bayamo
Ciudad Soluca 2-0 Mercadel S.C.
Daroca Marinos 1-4 Dínamo Maturín
Racing Soluca 2-1 Sportivo Maturín
Deportivo Soluca 1-0 S.C. Motril
Ciudad Jucaro 3-2 El Nacional
Estrella Torreón 2-1 Deportivo Cordova
Alianza Jucaro 5-2 Nuevo Onwere

The halfway point is reached with a new(ish) name at the top. Ciudad's win in Maturín enough to take the giants top after Deportivo's, Soluca not Cordova, although they didn't do much either, collapse in Jucaro and Daroca lost 4 - 1 for a third game on the spin. Racing Soluca move off the bottom after a point at Vizcarra's struggling EN and Agustín Durán is left unemployed after Sporting lose the San Marquez derby.

Matchday 19
Sporting San Marquez 2-3 Nuevo Onwere
Dunas Del Sol 2-1 Deportivo Cordova
Rubio Bayamo 1-4 Petro Mercada
Mercadel S.C. 3-0 Jaguarés
Dínamo Maturín 3-1 Porto Alegro Azul
Sportivo Maturín 0-2 Ciudad Soluca
S.C. Motril 4-1 Daroca Marinos
El Nacional 1-1 Racing Soluca
Ciudad Jucaro 6-2 Deportivo Soluca
Estrella Torreón 2-0 Alianza Jucaro

Twenty games down and the Marinos manage to stop their alarming rot with a point in Daroca. In the capitol EN show a marked improvement but can't upset old foes Ciudad, but the draw does allow Deportivo to join their city rivals at the top.

Matchday 20
Alianza Jucaro 1-1 Sporting San Marquez
Estrella Torreón 2-0 Dunas Del Sol
Nuevo Onwere 2-1 Rubio Bayamo
Deportivo Cordova 0-3 Mercadel S.C.

Jaguarés 1-0 Sportivo Maturín
Porto Alegro Azul 3-2 S.C. Motril
Ciudad Soluca 2-2 El Nacional
Daroca Marinos 0-0 Ciudad Jucaro
Racing Soluca 2-3 Deportivo Soluca

I suppose we should probably just take a quick gander at the Segunda too. Currently little Juventudé are looking good to make a return to the top table, although they did make hard work of a not entirely impressive La Serena side. S.C. Goza's decision to keep faith in boss Mario Quiñónez looks to be paying off after a shaky start and S.C. Carbo, a mediocre side even by Segunda standards, won a game.

Oh must we? Seriously? I know the Azulans seem to like it but there's a limit to these things. Oh fine, if it'll shut them up. The Liga Azula is also going on. Yay, et cetera. And after a roaring start to the season Piratas, famous for playing in Sargossa's (because it is really Sargossa even if they won't admit it) fastest growing city, slipped up in Ariaco to let Universitario Central, famous for, well, nothing really, go top.

The Inaugural ROFL Season

Yaay ROFL results! I can't really be bothered to type up a nice story, or even the matchdays about them after that nice season preview, so we'll just show you who's won and who lost big time. With nice colours.

Pos Team P W D L GF GA GD Pts
1 FC DePardenti 32 17 8 7 48 33 15 59 GC
2 The Grey Towers 32 17 7 8 69 44 25 58 GC
3 Avenell Garrison 32 18 4 10 60 37 23 58 TQCC
4 AC Palliston 32 15 12 5 59 34 25 57 GC
5 Sportivo Gretor 32 13 12 7 48 35 13 51 GC
6 FC of Sofnikos Anaxaux 32 13 9 10 50 45 5 48 TQCC
7 SVV Stoedt 32 13 8 11 39 40 -1 47 GC

16 VVV Ran 32 8 7 17 36 59 -23 31 REL
17 Peregrinus City Marbles 32 6 6 20 37 62 -25 24 REL

And while we're at that, let's not do the Nethertopian First Division. I'm tired, I'll post a table with the promoted teams some other time. Bleh.

Which leaves us with the final UICA entries:

TQCC
Tenderville United (Nethertopia)
NAPPC (Nethertopia)
Avenell Garrison (Logria)
FC of Sofnikos Anaxaux (Sofnikos Anaxaux)

Globe Cup
FC DePardenti (Nethertopia)

Sporting achievements:
Third in WC51. That's about it. I think we once won the inaugural Table Tennis World Cup as well?
