Beverage categories entering:
IPAs/ESBs:
1. Wicked Wizman
The Wicked Wizman uses a blend of Warrior Hops to achieve its hoppy goodness. It is also brewed with roughly a 50/50 mix of wheat and pale malts with a small amount of caramel and black matls for its color along with a few flavor notes. This is a standard ABV brew for the style and is at a 6.6%, its color rating shows as a 14 SRM acquired from the caramel and black malts, and has an IBU of 60.
Color: 14 SRM
ABV: 6.6%
IBU: 60
2. Century Crudlick
The Century Crudlick is our highest hopped brew and pushes this style to the upper limits with out tipping over the edge, so to speak. This is accomplished by using a blend of three hop varieties during the boil along with a fourth infusion during fermentation. For the hops we use the three C’s for bittering and flavor notes while shifting to an F’er for the aroma. The three C’s: Centennial, Chinook, Cascade. The F’er: Fuggle. As for the malts we blend in a combination of 2-row, 6-row, Biscuit, and a small amount of caramel. These present the brew with a nice light golden copper color and a over hopped biscuit flavor.
Color: 9 SRM
ABV: 8%
IBU: 100
Ambers/Reds/Ryes:
1. Red Rider #1
This is one of the oldest brews in HopNation and is actually in its fifth addition, but this is the original. It is an Irish Red Ale made up mostly on a base of 2-row malt with CaraRed and Caramel malts to instill the bright red color and caramel notes typical to the style. It is not overly bitter and is seen as very mild with a dry finish; three separate hops make up the overall bitterness. We did push the hop limits on the #1 strain but it stayed within the style parameters. It is an everyday drinker but this, the #1 formula is very hard to find these days within HopNation.
Color: 16 SRM – bright red
ABV: 6%
IBU: 27
Porters/Scotch Ales/Browns:
1. Punkin Pounder Porter
The Pounder as its known is a jet black brew with hints of pumpkin (as the name suggests) as well as some hints of fall spices almost resembling that of a pumpkin pie. It mixes a light amount of hops with its malts to help cut some of the sweetness of all the delicious malts. For those malts it is a mix of mostly 2-row and 6-row, a little caramel, a little bit of chocolate, and a decent portion of black malt for the overall color. So this brew could fall into a specialty category along with the Porter aspect as it combines these malts with a mix of Allspice, Cinnamon, Pumpkin, and Nutmeg. At its finish it has an excellent white head on it that can hold a bottle cap, if one were to actually place it on there. For the hops it uses a blend of Hallertau and Cascade to help balance out the malts making it not too malty and not to bitter. It does fall a little heavy on the ABV but because of its finishing flavors does not present as overly alcohol in taste or smell.
Color: 68 SRM
ABV: 6.5%
IBU: 31
Wheat/Weisse:
1. Risin Moon
The Rising Moon is our signature wheat brew and has wonderful color and flavor, not to bitter and not to malty but a good mix of the two for superb drinkability by a wide variety of beer drinkers. This is a blend of Bavarian Wheat and 2-row malt with the wheat making up nearly 80% of the grains. We then infuse it with two hop varieties for aroma and some bittering; those are Hallertauer Mittelfrüh and Cascade. It finishes clean and crisp as we add in some orange for that final flavor flash.
Color: 3 SRM
ABV: 4.8%
IBU: 21
2. Breadhead
An up and coming wheat brew, Breadhead has some excellent flavors in it. From a tiny citrus to a little banana it finishes clean and is not overly mouth heavy. This brew mixes three malts to achieve its overall flavor and feel with some light hops to compliment its overall palette. The single hop is of the Mt. Hood variety and infused twice during boil. It is very light in color but a little more golden yellow compared to the Rising Moon. It is a very mellow brew but does have a bit more bready tones in it.
Color: 6 SRM
ABV: 5%
IBU: 20
