Reclamation of Nazi Europe

The United Imperial Armed Forces is pleased that the attempt at this major update to reclaim Nazi Europe has succeeded and is glad to have participated in this operation alongside allied forces. It should be noted that after the region suffered a counter-invasion by Right Wing Uprising, the point nation was quickly transferred to a different individual, so all parties can be assured that the region is in safe hands. While we have now reclaimed the region, we recognise entirely the gravity of the fact it was allowed to fall into the hands of Right Wing Uprising in the first place. Accordingly, a more comprehensive statement addressing the concerns which have been raised will be issued during the next few days.

Nazi Europe Statement

First, the United Imperial Armed Forces would like to express our satisfaction that the operation against Nazi Europe following the reclamation of the region continues to proceed successfully. Careful attention is being given to the direction of this operation in concert with our partners. The on-going focus and priority of the UIAF is the success of this mission.

Second, the Imperial Military Council, constituting the supreme authority of the UIAF under the Third Treaty of Arms Convergence, has completed its inquiry into the grave circumstances leading to the temporary loss of Nazi Europe to the Right Wing Uprising on the minor update of 18th June 2014. Even though that situation was quickly recovered, this inquiry was instigated as a result of the seriousness of that incident and the importance of ensuring that nothing like it ever happens again.

The IMC has determined that two issues contributed to this result. First, the failure of the officer responsible for the point nation to be online at the time of the update, allowing RWU forces to begin piling into the region unhindered at least 10 minutes before the update. Second, the endorsement count being allowed to reach such a low number of endorsements: even bearing in mind the objective of enabling refounding, this was too low and ran contrary to long-standing imperialist military doctrine, namely to maintain the endorsement count at a point of safety. On this second point, we understand that it was considered unlikely that RWU would have 20 update units; this was clearly a mistaken assumption. In any case, professionalism and simple prudence should have dictated a higher level of regard for the security of a UIAF operation, particularly this mission given its inter-regional importance.

The officer involved has been disciplined through a number of sanctions, including placing a permanent final warning on his record (which will influence, among other things, promotion prospects and the outcome of any future misconduct proceedings) and the imposition of a probationary period. Furthermore, he is restricted from leading occupations: this restriction will be for a minimum period of two months and regardless will last until he has undergone further training. The specifics of the disciplinary action taken have been discussed and agreed with The North Pacific, as the lead party for this operation, and the UIAF is happy to discuss the matter in further detail with any other partner involved in this operation through the appropriate channels.

Finally, on both of the issues identified, it was clear that more proactive supervision of the officer concerned and improved engagement with allied communications, two aspects where the Joint Commander’s personal leadership is relevant and has the potential to be an important factor in securing improvements, could have mitigated the failings identified. Accordingly, the IMC will be instituting a formal accountability framework, against which the Joint Commander’s future performance on these issues will be regularly assessed.

Makes it pretty redundant then. The UIAF knows that it wasn't a great showing, that's why they took the time to address it thoroughly after ensuring victory on the battlefield.

I'm personally impressed with the UIAF's Statement. Although it does have a lot of the "But we salvaged the victory so glory to the OnderGod" stuff I expected, they did accept their mistake here and detailed the punishment, although a bit vaguely, of Cassius Cerebella for his rookie mistake in this operation. Hopefully he's learned a lesson out of this, and may be a tad less inept in the future.

I am very pleased with the response the UIAF has provided to the original unfortunate incident, both with this statement and during the operation to recover the region. Recent UIAF Operations

The United Imperial Armed Forces of the LKE, TNI and Albion are pleased to confirm that we have successfully executed the re-founding of Nazi Europe in liaison with the North Pacific Army. The re-founding is the culmination of our operation against the region of Nazi Europe, capturing and destroying the infamous historic Nazi stronghold in NationStates. The founder nation has been transferred from a UIAF soldier so that both the Delegate of The North Pacific and a member of the UIAF Imperial Military Council have access.

In concert with our allies and partners, the UIAF is glad to have secured this victory against a representation of hatred in this game. The UIAF would like to thank all regions which have contributed to the Nazi Europe invasion and re-founding.

In addition to our victory against Nazi Europe, we can also confirm that the UIAF made a significant contribution to the counter-invasion (also known as a ‘liberation’) of Liberal Haven, which had been under occupation by the forces of ‘The Doom Squad’ and Right Wing Uprising. This mission was led by the Imperial Sovereigns Realms Army, consisting of the forces of our close allies Osiris and Balder. Despite only two hours’ notice of the intended operation, the UIAF generated the largest participating force deployed in Liberal Haven. In accordance with our political objectives, this follows from the UIAF participation in an earlier counter-invasion of Liberal Haven back in May and the LKE and TNI’s wars against the Greater German Reich, a constituent region of the Right Wing Uprising.

The UIAF continues to provide reinforcements to the occupation of Ixnay by one of our regular military partners, The Black Riders.

Finally, as a side note, on the minor update of 17th July a series of cascade raids were conducted for training purposes, contributing to the development of our troops’ update skills. Out of twelve regions attempted, eleven were taken, and opposition by FRA and UDL forces was nowhere to be seen (providing a further indication of their total inability to challenge UIAF operations). The regions taken were:

Invasion of Canada

The United Imperial Armed Forces of The LKE, TNI and Albion are pleased to announce that we have invaded Canada in a joint operation with The West Pacific and The Black Hawks. We are particularly pleased to have worked with close partners in our close strategic ally The West Pacific and long-standing raider friends The Black Hawks in leading this mission; Additionally, we are most grateful to the Imperial Sovereign Realms Army of Osiris and Balder, Europeia, The Black Riders, Sicarius and Ceseris for their update support in carrying out this invasion.

We have no intention of seeking to refound Canada; our initial invasion alone constitutes a striking and genuinely significant achievement for the UIAF and our partners. Even before our (substantial) population boost, Canada was the third largest founderless user-created region in NationStates. On the update, it was taken with 53 endorsements to 45 (it would have been 47 but for two implanted switchers removing their endorsements). Over 20 units from our combined forces endorsed the point nation in Canada in time for the update. The conquest of this region shows beyond doubt what can be achieved by imperialist regions and raider regions working in cooperation in support of mutual objectives.

The United Imperial Armed Forces affords no credence whatsoever to Canada’s claims of neutrality (not that our proactive independence has ever respected the position of neutrality). Indeed, despite claiming to be neutral, in practice Canada has long closely associated with a number of historic and isolationist defender regions, including Texas, Wysteria and Yggdrasil. For instance, it has been due to attend the Summer Games in Wysteria alongside Texas, Yggdrasil, 10000 Islands, Spiritus, and Renegade Islands Alliance. Some of these regions, in particular 10000 Islands and Spiritus, have worked closely with the FRA and the UDL to undermine UIAF operations. Historically, we are also aware of Canada military units having participated in TITO exercises (as they have even recorded in the official history of their region for May 2004). By contrast, Canada has looked with disdain at the imperialist sphere: for instance, when responding to an LKE embassy application in March 2014, a government minister in Canada described the LKE as ‘rather backward’ for failing to publicly publish its constitution. This unwarranted attempt to berate the LKE for how it provides information to non-citizens in response to a friendly gesture is symptomatic of Canada’s approach. Such a slur from a public official against the LKE is unacceptable and underlined that, rather than being genuinely open to regions outside of an idealistic or defender culture, Canada has disrespected them.

11 units from the United Imperial Armed Forces were involved in the update operation, including Field Marshal OnderKelkia, Field Marshal Christopher Bishop, Lieutenant-General Magenta Fairy, Major-General Josh Sebastian, Major-General Torrin von Vonno, Major-General Cassius Cerebella, Lieutenant-Colonel Valfor Talleyrand-Vulika, Lieutenant-Colonel Robin Shepard, Lieutenant-Colonel Bert, Staff Sergeant Seth Redfield and Private Kazaman.

As for the takeover, straddling defender units from the Ten Thousand Island Treaty Organisation attempted to intervene but their intervention was insufficient and they were ejected. The Founderless Regions Alliance and the United Defenders League were as ever missing in action, once again confirming their total inability to remotely challenge the forces of the UIAF in the LKE and TNI’s war against them.

This major operation follows on from a successful and active period for the UIAF. Beyond earlier announcements regarding our success in Nazi Europe and reinforcements to TBR in Ixnay, it should be noted that we have assisted with transitioning the Delegacy of our close ally Balder to Rachel, its new ruler; we have also supported significant reinforcement for the operation of our close allies Europeia and The North Pacific in the region of Communist Beach.
