Taijan Roster for the DiBradini Cup 30
GK-#1-Leonard Xhang-Maroons (FEL)-18 y/o
A feisty young keeper, fresh off a season in the Felix Football League and eager to join some of his Maroons teammates in the green jersey. Has height and jumping ability, but his timing needs major work before he's first-team ready. Still a solid choice at this level, though.

FB-#2-Kyle Bronson-Green Star-20 y/o
An unused substitute for the Stars last season, Bronson nevertheless gained valuable first-team experience practicing alongside the likes of Mongkut Mendelsson and Nuno Brotz. A quick, tenacious player, but lacks the finesse needed to play at a higher level.

CB-#3-Tracy Davidson-Capital AC Reserves-19 y/o (F)
Until Diandra Ballard came along, Davidson was bound and determined to be the first female player in the Green League. Physical despite her small stature, sex discrimination is almost the only thing that can keep her from the first-team roster this next season.

CB-#4-Michael Reardan-St. Christopher United-20 y/o
Another unused substitute, Reardan is widely seen as lazy and ungrateful, and it is hoped that the DBC will be the "kick in the pants" he needs to become a force for the Wanderers' sagging defense.

FB-#5-Lloyd Kaspirisin-Nocturnals FC-19 y/o
Younger brother of Lane Kaspirisin, the recent star for St. Ignatius, Lloyd is hoping to get behind his brother in leap-frogging out of lower-division football in Taijan and play for the big boys next season.

LW-#6-Jordan Lovato-Maroons (FEL)-19 y/o
A major factor for the Maroons in their inaugural season in the FFL, Lovato will look to make the move back to Nova Algiers following this tournament.

CM-#7-Tannis Kim-Capital AC Reserves-16 y/o
The youngest starter for the Junior Ibexes, Kim is a developing midfielder with tremendous speed and stamina for his age, but a general lack of football IQ that makes him something of a liability.

CM-#8-Ryan van der Wall-St. Jermaine University-20 y/o (C)
Probably the best university player in Taijan and a sure bet to play for the Jackrabbits when he graduates, van der Wall has the most experience playing at a high level of anyone on the team, and so wears the captain's badge.

RW-#9-Tory Brown-St. Ignatius-20 y/o
Called up from the reserve squad halfway through the previous season, Tory Brown is a utility player slowly settling into a role at right winger.

FW-#10-Vishnu Corvallis-Maroons (FEL)-20 y/o
The captain apparent for Maroons this coming season, Corvallis is a diehard striker cast in the Nova Algiers mold. Widely seen as the "next Paul Yamamoto" by fans.

FW-#11-Rakkim Ryan-St. Christopher University-20 y/o
A probable matriculation to either the St. Christopher United or Johnstown United following his senior season next year, Ryan is a tireless attacker with a powerful boot who lacks the versatility to play at a high level just yet.

Head Coach-Leroy Chao-North Coast University
Played four years as a midfielder at NCU, but lacked the skill to make the jump to the pros. Started his career as an assistant coach at North Coast Prep soon after graduating, and worked his way up through the organization.

Substitutes
GK-#12-Cory Lehnertz-20 y/o-Lumberjacks FC
DF-#13-Balazs Kiss-18 y/o-Maroons (FEL)
DF-#14-Britt Kang-19 y/o-St. Sebastien's
MF-#15-Bradley Traviss-18 y/o-Capital AC Reserves
MF-#16-Dylan Upton-16 y/o-St. Christopher Academy
FW-#17-Lujayn Griffin-17 y/o-St. Ignatius Reserves
FW-#18-Aaron Yates-18 y/o-Maroons (FEL)

The Felixian Football Association Presents...

The U-21 Felixian National Football Team

Intro-

The Felixian U-21 National Football Team has gone through it's ups and downs since it's founding 2009 with a 4th place finish in their first year, a group stage finish in their second year and the most recent of them all, a quarterfinal finish in their third year of play. The team that had Sebastian Krister, Kunibert Mathias, Nickolaus Dürr, Jon Vilmar, and Tomás Coleman made a surprising 4th place finish after winning against every team except for the Free Republics and well of course, the Polar Islandstates in the third place match, giving Felix the multiversal recognition the Felixians deserved. The next year the same Felixian team struggled as they lost to teams that proved too much for them and finished in a disappointing group stage finish. Finally we see the resurgence of the U-21 teams as Felix finishes with a quarterfinal finish. With many of the players from the Felixian team leaving as they go over the age limit, Aureliano Sanna is being told by FFA leadership to finish again in the Quarterfinals before they lose a good chunk of players, can Sanna do it and in impressive fashion? We'll find out soon enough.

Di Bradini Cup Roster: Super-Llamaland Royals

Note: bold denotes starter.

Style Mod: -2

Formation: 2-3-4-1
Manager: Gorden Mikayel, 36: an ex-U21 star, Mikayel was one of the pioneers of U-21 football in Llamaland. Known as a tactical genius from his attacking-mid days. Friends with John Oliver, retired midfielder and assistant captain of the national squad.
Coaches:
Henry Mullen, 44: Specializes in defense, an ex-sweeper on the national squad before the Tigers entered the World Cup.
Cody Gray, 26: B-team striker, considered next-in-line for the national squad at WC 68, getting a management position to work on tactics and strategy.
Eric Sorenson, 62: Crusty outspoken veteran and manager of six different teams in the LFL. Currently having a sabbatical, to the dismay of his employers, FC Nikcoro. Dislikes Gray strongly.
Trainer:
Mark O'Neill, 36: Young M.D. loves sports and is in training to succeed Ray McMartin as the trainer.

#1: Henry McNeal, 20: Star of the D, great blocker, has trouble holding onto ball, fantastic athleticism boosted by work ethic
#6: Jared Carter, 16: Laid-back phenom, skipped straight from U-16 team after phenomenal efforts at exhibition games. All talent, could be a great if he works harder.
#48: Michael Grady, 19: Little more than an injury reserve, football lifer with meh athleticism but good skill set.

#16: Martin Harrison, 20: Tackler whose inability to quickly accelerate may cost him a spot on his nation's football team.
#11: Curtis Appel, 18: Athletic and a decent tackler, shows lots of promise at 18.
#17: Gordon Beckett, 19: Laid-back, leads drives, finesse player.
#20: Paul Peters, 21: Brilliant dribbler who often takes the ball to midfield before passing it up. A key piece of the D.
#22: Derrick Nelson, 20 (captain): Defensive linchpin, vocal leader, all-around phenom who should've been playing at WC 67.

#3: Nick Gray, 17: Young defender on the team to gain experience, suffers from mild Asperger's, great teammate, runs a charity
#0: Darren Beckert-Stanton, 20: Vocal critic of everything has athleticism of a HS sprinter but tackles are too dirty.
#9: Frank Walden, 19: Calm and fantastic under pressure, Walden often ends up taking PKs for the team.
#2: Harrison McHale, 20: Raw athlete, good shooter and tackler, doesn't see a career on the A-team

#10: Alex Ford, 20: Fantastic shooter, leader of the offense, not the best passer, likes to attack
#13: Kyle Sturgeon, 19: Laid-back playmaker, fantastic vision, three-sport athlete in high school, bursts of speed shock defenders
#14: Lou Canamic, 21: Cocky driver, loves dribbling through the box, loses the ball a lot, scoring force
#22: Bryan Fordham, 18: New addition to the team, good all-around, quiet teammate

#54: Jack Thomas, 19: Loves to play, clean kid, good teammate, athletic but no finesse
#42: Jake Wiggins, 20: Crafty playmaker, can shoot in a pinch
#23: Wayne Carter, 21: Sprinter, great for cornerkicks, above-average tackler
#9: Carlos Guzman, 19: Small for his age, agility is top-notch, shots lack power but he loves chipping them where the goalie isn't

#26: Peter Masters, 18: Attacker, shoot-first striker, unloved by teammates

#21: Angelo Raymond, 18: Outspoken, thinks he should be starting, better playmaker and powerful shooter, although not enough accuracy
#66: Jacob Brennaman, 19: Dominant force, recovering from leg injury, should become starter halfway through, does all the little things

Nassau Hessen Eagles Di Brandini Cup U20 Squad
Image

***Denotes Rookie

FORWARDS:

Left: Blanco Chubbs
5'10 / 19 Years Old / 149 Pounds / #45
"After being the star player for the national football team the previous year, the star is only eligible for one more year. He is determined to make the best impression he can during his very last Brandini Cup (according to Nassau standards) before advancing to a likely spot on the adult national team."

Center: Theobald Lightfoot
5'6 / 17 Years Old / 121 Pounds / #19
"This youngster is almost inseparable to Chubbs, being by far the teams best passer and occasional scorer, a starting spot was just about reassured for Theobald, we do not currently know what will happen next year without Chubbs, it is a true 1/2 chance he will make the national adult squad"

Balbo Zarambaga
6'0 / 19 Years Old / 144 Pounds / #12
"Balbo recently took the old spot of Longo Tolk, most people can agree it was for the best. He gives a good mix of aggressiveness and conservativeness and steps up whenever needed. He made a great backup in the Baptism of Fire (wherein both Nova Anglicana AND Nassau Hessen were beaten in the first round) and proved his worth with a couple of well timed goals."

MIDFIELDERS
Left: Olo Burrows

5'11 / 17 Years Old / 132 Pounds / #59
"Olo (although inconsistent at times) has proven to be a worthy asset of the Red and Purple. With a handy amount of goals under his belt, and an advantage of youth to go with it (also to mention that he has gone through a great growth spurt over the break), he can make wonders happen at will"

Center: Gowell Hatcher
5'6 / 19 Years Old / 119 Pounds / #98
"He did not make too memorable of an impression the previous year. With this being his last year before having to earn a spot with the adults he must make a good impression to continue"

Right: Elvstan Fairbarn
5'8 / 17 Years Old / 119 Pounds / #41
"The unlikely starting pipsqueak Elvstan Fairborn last year made quite an impression during recruiting. Having a growth spurt like Burrows, the coaches expect there to be a close passing relationship between the two. Some people expect this newcomer to the starting lineup to leave a good impression, or even to dare say make headlines."

DEFENSEMEN

Left: Marroc Twofeller
5'9 / 19 Years Old / 142 Pounds / #71
"Marroc has quite the shoes to fill in the Left Defense spot. Formerly inhabited by the great Brian Morrow (who is now on the national squad), he must live up to Brian's greatness to somewhat of an extent. With immense pressure on his shoulders, it is uncertain how he will react."

Left Center: Powell Berg***
6'0 / 18 Years Old / 123 Pounds / #67
"Powell is an interesting catch for the U20 squad. He seems to be proficient to the extent of being a starter for the Eagles. Not much is known about him and the team will need a little more time to form chemistry with him (which shouldn't be too long). Expect him to make a move this tournament."

Right Center: Merima Rumble
5'7 / 18 Years Old / 118 Pounds / #51
"Being barely able to maintain his spot on the team, he is not expected to do much. He does occasionally make good goal avoiding stops, but not frequently."

Right: Wilbert Oakfield***
5'7 / 16 Years Old / 114 Pounds / #27
"This rookie is a good catch on the behalf of the Eagles. Although scrawny and inexperienced, he makes a great defender with vigor of youth. He will be a good friend of Sandy Roper, helping him out whenever needed. He is the main

GOALTENDER

Goalie: Sandy Roper
5'6 / 18 Years Old / 124 Pounds / #90
"Being the star of the team besides Chubbs, Sandy has proven that quality always trumps quantity. Pulling out wins from night to night Sandy is always ready to be between the pipes on any given night."

FORWARDS

Longo Tolk
5'11 / 17 Years Old / 158 Pounds / #82

Quirnius Robble***
6'1 / 18 Years Old / 156 Pounds / #35

MIDFIELDERS

Geruntius Bunce
5'11 / 18 Years Old / 156 Pounds / # 22

Dorric Baygood***
5'9 / 16 Years Old / 142 Pounds / #92

Blaise Tworidge***
5'7 / 19 Years Old / 122 Pounds / #37

Doderic Boffin
5'8 / 19 Years Old / 129 Pounds / #56

DEFENSEMEN

Bartholomew Riverhook***
5'6 / 16 Years Old / 119 Pounds / #72

Holdfast Goodtock
5'7 / 17 Years Old / 121 Pounds / #48

GOALTENDER

Harold Brookings***
5'10 / 17 Years Old / 130 Pounds / #49

The teams staff (and basically all teams of Nassau) always have a mindset on being balanced with a slight edge on defense. They see the importance of playing conservative and intelligently, preferring strategize counter attacks over aggressive attacks.

Notes

The Federation of Free Republics (FFR) is a federation of Republics with a weak national government (the "Federation Government") that has numerous checks and balances. The Republics, each of which has its own government, are relatively independent, although they are subject to the Federation Constitution and its numerous restrictions on what government can do. Most important among them is the cap on taxation, which makes it unconstitutional for government (meaning all governments in the FFR) to take more than 10% combined of anybody's income in taxes, effectively limiting the government. They are the nearest neighbor to Saintland, although that tiny island nation is over a thousand miles to the north of the northern-most Republic's northern border, and most Republicans actually tend to consider progressives worse than religious fanatics, even if both ideologies are considered extreme and contrary to Republicanism. The players on this team would not be considered the best players in the FFR or even the best U-21 players in the FFR. Republican athletes tend to have massive egos and they aren't interested in playing for their country. This team was the idea of Rule Theriault, a failed former manager who had led a team that was expected to contend for the league title to relegation. Theriault failed as manager at Petrograd United because the veteran players on that team, with their giant egos, did not respect their manager or his approach to the game. Theriault clashed with players because he emphasizes a team-first style of play and an intense practice schedule. To rebuild his reputation, he decided to work with younger players that would take instruction and was able to get a number of talented young players, even if most of the country's top prospects turned him down. This team made it to the finals of the 27th Di Bradini Cup, before falling short against the Equestrian States. Despite requests from a number of professional players to be chosen for the national side, Theriault chose not to make any changes to his squad for the Baptism of Fire to avoid any risk of weakening team chemistry. Despite finishing 17th at BoF 52 and failing to qualify for World Cup 65, Theriault once again chose not to make any changes to his side for the 57th edition of the Cup of Harmony. The team would lose their first 2 matches at the 57th CoH to New Sideburn and Filopines before picking up upsets against Jeru FC and Falcus. The Free Republics returned to the DBC 2 years ago and won all 7 of their matches, becoming the Di Bradini Cup champions. The U-15 side went 4-6 in the Beach Cup and went on to be eliminated after the group stage of the U-15 World Cup. In their second World Cup qualifying campaign, the Free Republics were in serious contention until being eliminated on the 8th day of 10 with a lopsided defeat against perennial qualifiers Gyatso-Kai. In the Cup of Harmony, the Free Republics advanced out of a tough group, at the expense of Qazox and their arch-rival Felix before falling to the Licentian Isles in the Round of 16. In the previous 2 DBCs, the Free Republics had eliminated the Licentians twice. In last year's Di Bradini Cup, with Rule Theriault in Saintland for the UWCFA Gold Cup, Massimiliano Abdullahi managed a team that returned 9 starters from the previous year to an impressive 3rd place performance, despite being placed in a Group of Death and despite the DBC being hosted by the Equestrian States. In their 3rd World Cup qualifying attempt, they made it out of the Group of Death and into the playoffs, amid massive controversy and with seemingly the entire multiverse against them. In the end, they fell short, losing to New Sideburn, but they would return to the Cup of Harmony, held that time in Valanora, where they reached the quarterfinals for the first time ever before being eliminated by West Angola.

There are no large differences in ability between the individual players on this team. Backups can see playing time and Theriault will probably bench his starters if he feels the game is meaningless. This team returns just 7 starters from last year's team and none of the losses will be more critical than the loss of Kyle Bolton, who was not only a star player, but also the leader of the team. Bernard Lukic, as the only 21-year-old starter on the team, was appointed the captain for this edition of the DBC. Making matters even more difficult for Theriault this year, Koby Theodore is currently in Saintland, where he will be spending the next 3 years, receiving personal training from Prince Andreas and (allegedly) attending a reform school. In fact, he was actually enrolled at a regular foreign resident school in St. Petrus under the name of Colby Wilson and falsely identified as being from Taxachusetts, a breakaway former Republic. Either way, he is unable to compete for the Free Republics for the next 3 years (World Cup cycles). For once, the Indispensable Nation seems vulnerable in a Di Bradini Cup.

In case you are wondering, Nova Hellstrom no longer recaps this team's matches. She was re-assigned by Sporting World after writing an article about how adbots are great when she was supposed to write a match recap of a World Cup qualifier during the 65th cycle. Sporting World has yet to hire a replacement.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, children of all ages: Esportiva proudly brings to you... now with three youth section titles, two under-15 world cups and a Di Bradini Cup, the sole team that could make Val Kylx win something outside of Slembana, the blue, the yellow, the Huelarus-showing, the current Di Bradini Cup champions of the multiverse... Northern... Sunrise... Islands!

NORTHERN SUNRISE ISLANDS
THE VAPOREONS

The Champ is Here! Well, some of them are here, to be honest. With Kylx stepping up to the main side, a new coach had to be appointed. And maybe that name would impress most people. Lynette Bourbon, known by operating the miracle that would grant the Marills the first title of the league and the titles the Rangers would earn, was quickly appointed by the NSIFC, as they believe that she would do well justice to the squad. With a good eye and some ideas, she picked up a roster that she believed would do no evil. At least not for us.

OOC: As you can see, the ages of the Project +90 (Felix)in NSI's post in the IDS Discussion contradicts the age of the players here in my roster. This is to keep my consistency with the excel workbook that I have in my laptop. The players I sent to the Project +90 were still in the team sheets of my clubs. (I forgot to seclude them to a separate spreadsheet.) Apologies to NSI for the confusion in the ages.

competing for

The 30th Di Bradini Cup

Staff
Manager: Aldrich SING (38)
A former coach of the senior squad, he got his first taste of management when he took over gaffer duties from Niccolo Abundo at the Market Cup VII in Mapletish. He is strict in terms of fitness and diet, but is compassionate on the pitch. He rarely shouts at the players except in situations that is very unfavorable to his team. An example of this is when the team is more than three goals down at their own turf. Sing has not yet managed a club, but he had worked in Atletico Viocla, a current third division club as a coach and a former player.

Assistant Manager: Cush BULAYUGAN (43)
Current manager of CF Sangti. Accepted the offer for assistant manager because he dreams to be the manager of The Royal Barangay someday. Former assistant manager at Real Cintore.

Coaches: Exequiel Dimanlig (52), Daryl Serapio (56), Marx Pelayo (55)
Physio: Miro Donalvo (former Olympique Leonde keeper and older brother of Masahiro Donalvo, 35)

Style: +3.24
Adapted from Jaime Faltado's attacking style, Sing uses his midfield to create chances by feeding the ball to the strikers to create open spaces. He also ensures that the midfield is adept in shooting long balls if neccesity or opportunity arises.
Formation: 4-4-1-1, sometimes switching into convetional 4-4-2 or 4-3-1-2.

Hector Rossizzo has decided to change a few things regarding who gets called up and who does not. He has decided to no longer consider the Di Bradini Cup a competition to win, but a competition to generate big crops of players that could one day achieve big things with the national team. Basically, he has deemed the World Cup more important than the Di Bradini Cup, and he only sees the latter as a way to bring up players for the former. Winning it is still the objective, however, but not the main one. As a result of all these, Rossizzo has decided to change a few unwritten rules of how players get called up for this squad. He'll only be calling up one national team player who meets the requirements, making him the captain and therefore making him guide the others with his experience. No other capped players may get called up regardless of age. He's also chosen a wide crop of players, and has not kept many of the players from last time around, probably because he wants the national team to have a variety of choices in the future.

GOALKEEPERS
#1 - GK - Rôhj Tzâín - Age 19 - Mâ Âlâmëómë
#12 - GK - Ascensión Ekvinter - Age 18 - Avenida Victoria
#13 - GK - Ãtrêý Vírîvá - Age 18 - Foraé

The starting goalkeeper will be Rôhj Tzâín, already a starter for Mâ Âlâmëómë back home. He's deemed as the next Erfaon Lisdiren, but those are big shoes to fill. He'll have to show what he's worth this Di Bradini Cup to prove he is indeed the much sought-after replacement for the only starting goalkeeper the national team has ever had. The substitutes Ekvinter and Vírîvá are pretty good players, but not as good as Tzâín.

DEFENDERS
#4 - LB - Fër Fâizxý - Age 21 - Granger Dragonites (Northern Sunrise Islands)
#3 - CB - Ivaktör Bârr - Age 19 - Darveston City (Northern Sunrise Islands)
#2 - RB - Fabrifé Rrhaolez - Age 20 - Byrd Spitfires (Northern Sunrise Islands)
#5 - LB - Salomón Cayfú - Age 18 - Libertarian Ferdullaele
#18 - CB - Aarón Croce - Age 19 - Avenida Victoria
#19 - RB - Candazo Sol - Age 20 - La Nueva Avenida

The backline is, as always, the weakest part of the team. Fër Fâizxý has managed to get a starting spot after being a substitute last time around, thanks to having become better back at Northern Sunrise Islands. The same goes for Ivaktör Bârr. On the right, Fabrifé Rrhaolez has finally been given the chance to start for the Di Bradini squad after two Di Bradini Cups being on the bench. As for the substitutes, Salomón Cayfú is a very fast pseud-wingback who will take the field whenever a more attacking-minded "defender" is needed. His speed is a great asset for the team in times of need. Aarón Croce is a pretty talented defender coming out of Avenida Victoria's academy, one of the few to bring up decent Farf defenders. Candazo Sol is similar to Cayfú, but a bit inferior. He's the one the least likely to get playing time. Funny how all the starting defenders play in Northern Sunrise Islands. Wait, that is not good!

MIDFIELDERS
#6 - DM - Basajaun Courtemanche - Age 19 - Fryi Frêndê
#8 - LM - Risko Kâí - Age 21 - Urbizania Wanderers (Astograth) [C]
#21 - RM - Kühâx - Age 21 - Mâ Âlâmëómë
#10 - OM - Matías Delafuente - Age 17 - La Nueva Avenida
#11 - OM - Itxaso Zuazubiskar - Age 19 - Antiguoko (Astograth)
#15 - DM - Bedros Nazarian - Age 21 - Flying Jellyfish
#14 - LM - Wolf Van Rossum - Age 19 - Flying Jellyfish
#17 - CM - André Reneré - Age 20 - Avenida Principal
#16 - RM - Loís Soler - Age 20 - Libertarian Ferdullaele
#22 - OM - Mirogod Chernyshov - Age 21 - Pezcemá Golden Magikarps (Northern Sunrise Islands)

The midfield is Farfadillis' best line. The defensive midfielder, Basajaun Courtemanche, is a very fast and tactically-organized defensive midfielder, an appropriate replacement for Armando Elevado. On the left, Risko Kâí has been chosen as the capped player to lead this Di Bradini squad. Playing for Urbizania Wanderers as a starter should show how good he is. Without a doubt the star of the team. On the right, Kûhâx, who plays for Mâ Âlâmëómë, has finally been given the chance to thrive in the Di Bradini Cup following a very good season with his team. The two offensive midfielders will be Matías Delafuente, one of the most promising players from this batch, and Itxaso Zuazubiskar, a part-Astograthian Farf player. Delafuente will be the one dictating the tempo with his defense-splitting passes and his wonderful possession game. He's as good a playmaker as they come. Meanwhile, Itxaso is more of a player who goes for long-range efforts and can act as a third striker. They're expected to complement each other with their different styles. In the bench, Bedros Nazarian is a pretty good defensive midfielder, but nothing out of the ordinary. As a left midfielder, Wolf Van Rossum has been unlucky enough to have Risko Kâí chosen as the capped player to be called up. As a centre midfielder in case Rossizzo wants to change tactics a bit, the part-Valladar part-Farf André Reneré has been called up. The substitute right midfielder is Loís Soler, a talented dribbler. As a substitute offensive midfielder, part-Sunrisian part-Farf Mirogod Chernyshov is expected to fill in the position Delafuente and Itxaso take up should it be needed.

STRIKERS
#7 - ST - José Torino Fuego - Age 17 - Flamagua
#9 - ST - Vanessa Pfeiffauf - Age 21 - Madorre De Fuego
#20 - ST - Sjurd Arthursson - Age 21 - Flying Jellyfish
#23 - ST - Mihail Areleous - Age 21 - Ferdullaele

The attack is composed by prodigy José Torino Fuego, one of the hottest prospects of Farf football (and Lorenzo Fuego's brother), and Vanessa Pfeiffauf, a female football player, the second to get to a Di Bradini squad. The substitutes will be Sjurd Arthursson, a tall striker who plays for Flying Jellyfish's youth team, and Mihail Aerleous, the first decent player coming out of Ferdullaele after a lot of time.

(NOTE: Northern Sunrise Islands roster post parodied with their permission)

A collective shudder echoes through the multiverse. A rumbling sound, like distant thunder, heralds their coming. A pleasant summer breeze blows ominously. A giant stirs and makes its way to Starblaydia, its body composed of garbage, assault rifles and stale banana sandwiches. In its wake, a swarm of darkness descends upon the land, the rumbling sound more distinct. It sounds like... monkeys?

Oh no...

With absolutely no international experience, but already infamous in several countries, the raucous band of Huelandia is ready to enthrall with their unique brand of football (okay, it's not a GOOD brand, but it's unique) and colorful supporters (and by colorful we mean obnoxious, violent and stupid). Or, at least, annoy everyone in Starblaydia before they crash horribly in the first stage.

Hueland described seriously: a former empire of Westernized Amazonian jungle tribes with a powerful military but waning political influence.
Actual story: They were found by the Portuguese and promptly ate them, and following their belief in absorbing the essence of people they ate, started conquering/colonizing the neigboring nations.

Starblaydia's leading all-time goalscorer was thrust straight into Starblaydia's sink-or-swim Under-21 setup. After the two most depressing tournaments in Starblaydi history, with 1 draw from six matches and a massive minus-eighteen goal difference during that time, her debut with a new-look team reached the Quarter-Finals of the 29th Di Bradini Cup, scoring 10 goals in 5 games and only losing to the eventual champions, Northern Sunrise Islands. As well as Assistant Manager for the national team - and a Last 16 appearance in the World Cup, Kochanska has retained her position for DBC30.

HopNation expands National Team list to include a U-21 squad. The Hops have had some success in international competition and although they did not make it past World Cup Qualifications this cycle they were able to finish in a respectable sixth position in their group, one spot higher than what their rank put them in at. Thus, Winston Churschmidt and Warren VonHopton decided to collect the premier members of each club around HopNation that were either 21 years of age or younger and place them in the U21 World Cup, better known as the Di Bradini Cup. This cup is hosted by the Starblaydia Nation and is named after one of the sports best, Simeone Di Bradini. This cycle the cup has been opened to fourty nations, nations with great pasts and nations with no pasts, so it will be a good spot light on some of the future talent hoping to one day play for the senior squad in the World Cup. For HopNation and the NA Hops it will be their first adventure into this tournament and will be a grand place for them to showcase their own talents, which I’m sure some of the players might be looking to gain entrance into other nations domestic leagues and with that hopefully some big contracts. The NA Hops will kick things off against Kinitaria, then follow up with Gloriax before having a day off. Their third match will be against Mytannion and finally wrapping up the group stage with a match against San Jose Guayabal. The only team our senior squad has faced amount these is Mytannion, which is a very good side, not that any of the others are bad we just know little about them at this point. But being this is the U21 squads of each Nation it might not be wise to assume they are the same caliber as their senior equivalent. Especially since the squads usually have a new set of faces leading them on the field each cycle. We are looking forward to this event and the experience can only help our young guys and hopefully develop into strong senior team members in their future.

(ooc - the U21 squad is called the NA Hops, for non-alcoholic, non-adult or.....under 21, even though it is a nation of brewers and almost everyone drinks beer of some kind every day and the listed national drinking age is relatively ignored and definitely not enforced by authorities. This should also be added to the roster as well now.)

Yttribian National U-21 Football Team for the 30th Di Bradini Cup

Manager: Krista van Ostermann, 49, Stemanisis SSC
Home Grounds: Estadio del Sol, Telino, 64,158
Nickname: Los Estudiantes
Formation: 3-4-3
Style Modifier: -2.65

Roster
Goalkeepers:
#1 - GK - Felipa Rush - Female - 17 - Fontvielle Prep
#12 - GK - Xavier Garlens - Male - 19 - Unattached
#23 - GK - Kirstin LeMange - Female - 20 - Unattached

Felipa Rush shall be starting for the National Squad. She is known for her agility at the goal, with a record twenty clean sheets throughout her high school career. Her powerful goal kicks once led to an assist, drop kicking the ball nearly 80 meters. She is one of the first players to announce support for La Universidade, a proposed university league giving spots in the domestic cup to the top eight schools in the nation.

Defenders:
#2 - LCB - Mateo Strass - Male - 19 - Unattached
#3 - LCB - Bennie Mercier - Male - 20 - Stemanisis SSC (1st)
#4 - CB - Terra Rice - Female - 17 - Telino Institute and Academy
#5 - CB - Federigo Aiza - Male - 19 - La Condamine (NSPL)
#6 - RCB - Caristelle Piscine - Female - 19 - Unattached
#7 - RCB - Louis Grimaldi - Male - 16 - Seraville High

Left centre back Mateo Strass, centre back Terra Rice, and right centre back Louis Grimaldi will be playing the back three. Strass has a lot of talent for someone who hasn't played competitively for the last year, practicing on the streets with his mates. Centre back Terra Rice is known for her sweeper like abilities, and her aerial defense grounds some of the powerful kickers, making her a threat on the ground, and in the air. Despite President Andrew Grimaldi being his uncle, Louis sure as heck did not bribe his way to here. Considered one of the smartest players on the pitch, Grimaldi's timing is always on spot.

Midfielders:
#8 - LM - Isabelle Villanueva - Female - 20 - Unattached
#9 - LM - Volkmar von Ingelsberg - Male - 19 - Unattached (C)
#10 - CM - Sabas Motta - Male - 18 - Unattached
CM - #11 - Edward Wiesler - Male - 16 - Fontvieille Prep
CM - #13 - Theodora Byzantzas - Female - 17 - La Halda Academy of Sport
CM - #14 - Thom Womack - Male - 19 - Unattached
RM - #15 - Mac Head - Male - 16 - La Condamine (NSPL)
RM - #16 - Ursula Clarkson - Female - 20 - Unattached

Left midfielder Volkmar von Ingelsberg, center midfielders Sabas Motta, and Theodora Byzantas, and right midfielder Ursula Clarkson are the starting midfielders for Yttribia. Von Ingelsberg was one of the stars at Fontvieille Prep, until he graduated recently this year, with six goals scored, and eighteen assists. Motta is known for being somewhat defensive and can cause the officials to card him, due to his rough yet effective style of play. Byzantas has a powerful leg which should not be treated lightly. Ursula Clarkson is arguably the fastest player on the entire team, able to run the length of the pitch in 10.85 seconds. Her agility allows her to get one on one with the goalkeeper, and is a terror due to the mastering of both her feet.

Attackers:
#17 - LW - Serafina Raskob - Female - 19 - Unattached
#18 - LW - Arne Alcheri - Male - 18 - Fontvieille Prep
#19 - CF - Henry Vilhjalmsson - Male - 17 - La Condamine (NSPL)
#20 - CF - Terrance Hathaway - Male - 15 - Gremalsco Prep School
#21 - RW - Francesca della Cavella - Female - 19 - Unattached
#22 - RW - Michel Hollard - Male - 20 - Unattached

Wingers Serafina Raskob, and Michel Hollarde are two of the most electrifying players on the field, who help with the attack by sometimes switching sides. However, when the two were still in high school, they realized that this could cost them big time, so they've eased on the switching. Their chemistry on the field is helped by an off the field relationship. The name Vilhjalmsson is known throughout the multiverse by now, thanks to Xavi Vilhjalmsson, star sweeper of the senior side. However, Henry Vilhjalmsson is starting to make a name for himself in the NSPL. His style of play is reminiscent of a stick of dynamite. He's waiting to burst with excellent shots and superb passing skill, somewhat opposite to his more defensive brother.

The Ko-orenite footballer is much like wine: they get better with age. However, last DBC, the team reached fourth place after failing miserably at even getting more than 3 points for DBCs on end. This team is largely the same as the last, though with the older players replaced. The expectations are still low, though, so two victories is pretty much the goal.

Sporting World

The Future is Now
by: Rule Theriault

The Di Bradini Cup is returning to Starblaydia, home of Simeone Di Bradini himself. Once again, it will be using that ridiculous 40 team format that the Equestrian States introduced last year, just so they could stick us in a Group of Death and prevent us from repeating. Well, even though I was in Saintland at that time last year leading the B team to the finals of the Gold Cup, my assistant Mr. Abdullahi nearly overcame the odds anyway. He just had the misfortune of running into Polar Islandstates in a semi-final before they managed to lose yet another final, to some Esportivan ****hole of all places! Meanwhile, I led the B team to second place at the most prestigious regional championship of them all. In fact, the UWCFA Gold Cup is so prestigious that UWCFA will not be holding another edition this year. All I have to say is watch out if Callistea ever enters the BoF. Having watched them play, I can say with no reservations that they are, undoubtedly, a better team than the Felix Trolls, the Mizuyuki Slants, the Sarian Punks or any of those worthless excuses for nations that the Universal Force for Good should just invade already.

Speaking of the Trolls and the Slants, they are 2 of the main reasons, along with some hole in the wall known as Yttribia, that the Di Bradini Cup is using a 40 team format again. Starblaydia chose to give in to their incessant lobbying and let them into the tournament anyway. Personally, I would have told them to get lost. Personally, I'd prefer a tournament that exuded class and a tournament that includes the likes of Felix and Mizuyuki exudes anything but. I still cannot believe that Cassadaigua and the Equestrian States allowed Felix, Mizuyuki and the Sarian to conspire to intimidate our players and deny us our rightful spot atop the Group of Death and in the World Cup. Instead, we ended up in a playoff against New Sideburn, a team that simply would not be denied. Sure, they are Esportivans, but New Sideburn always wins Esportiva's joke of a regional tournament and are famous for denying the Sanctii what was supposed to be their BoF championship. It is an outrage that Mizuyuki has already been to 2 World Cups, while the Sanctii have only been to 4 and the Greatest Nation in the Multiverse has yet to qualify for our first World Cup. At least the Trolls have also never qualified for the World Cup and I will do everything in my power to ensure that they never do so because the World Cup should not be despoiled by such a worthless nation. At least it won't be too much longer until we qualify for the World Cup, if everything goes according to the plan...

This year, the Republican U-21s will be younger and less experienced. For the first time ever, we are entering a DBC without Kyle Bolton on the roster. Not only that, but Koby Theodore, who was supposed to be our next U-21 captain, has gone into hiding thanks to the lies spread about him by the Felix Trolls. Just for the record, Koby never raped anybody, since whether or not somebody is under the influence when giving consent is immaterial in any decent nation that believes in personal responsibility. This whole "date rape" nonsense that was invented by Progressive nutjobs is simply that. Total and utter nonsense. The Troll slut consented to the encounter and only cried rape when her precious boyfriend found out about it. Nonetheless, in the interest of his personal safety, Koby Theodore has gone into hiding in an undisclosed location. Rumors that he is currently in a reform school in Saintland are completely unfounded, since he has already completed his education. A few years from now, Koby will return and, so a prophetess told me, will bring the World Cup trophy to the Greatest Nation of them all, for he is the Chosen One that will bring about a new Golden Era in international soccer, the Era of the FFR.

Instead, I have chosen to appoint Bernard Lukic as the new U-21 Captain, for he is the only 21-year-old in our starting lineup this year. Bernard will assist me in leading this team into Starblaydia, tasked with living up to the standard set by their forebears, a task that I believe they can accomplish, even if the oddsmakers do not agree with me. While it will be easier than we have become used to, it still will not be easy to navigate the group stage. We will open at Iota "Big Eye" Arena in Penningworth against Super-Llamaland. Last year's World Baseball Classic champions, Super-Llamaland are not known for their prowess at soccer, although they did finish ahead of the FFR in our World Cup 66 qualifying group. This will be followed by a bye, for which we can thank the lobbying of the Felix Trolls and Mizuyuki Slants. Then, we will face Gregoryisgodistan at the same stadium as our first match. This is a match that I am most certainly not looking forward to, but that's why we won't be traveling without our assault weapons and many boxes full of ammunition. If the so-called "pervert chasers" attempt to maim any Republicans, we will not hesitate to gun them down on the soccer pitch. As numerous opponents of Lord Gregory's Slaves have found out in the past, his teams will not hesitate to murder or horrifically mutilate their opponents, officials and spectators. This we must not allow, which is why we will come out for that match brandishing fully loaded assault weapons.

After we finish with those matches, we will head to Karak D'Ragh to play our final 2 matches in the Sports Hall. The first of these is against Kinzar, who debuted at the same time as the Sanctii, but have always been decidedly mediocre in soccer. No worries there. Then, we will finish against The Royal Barangay. I had to do some research to find out who that was, since I had never heard of them before. It turns out that they are the Esportivan minnows formerly known as Sangti. They, like Super-Llamaland, are a great baseball nation, but they really aren't that good in anything else. Although this is our weakest team in quite some time, I would still be surprised if we did not secure at least 10 points in the group stage, victories over Llamaland, Kinzar and Barangay and a draw with Lord Gregory's Slaves. This should be enough to secure a Round of 16 matchup with a team from either Group F or Group H. Out of those, my preference would be for a matchup against either New Sideburn or Cassadaigua, both Group F teams. I know that my players would be more than happy to make it up to the ladies from Cassadaigua after eliminating them from the DBC and I'd personally love to eliminate New Sideburn. Then again, my players may be too busy watching the new RWC Network on their RepublicSoft Saints to spend any time chasing after the ladies this year. That Mr. Sagese at the Republican Wrestling Conglomerate is certainly a very ambitious man and, although I'm not personally a fan of his programming (even if I will be watching the upcoming "Kyle Bolton on a Pole Match" between Lucia and the ever lovely Nova Hellstrom), I wish him luck in his efforts to expand his wrestling empire throughout the multiverse and prove, once again and in his own way, the undeniable fact that is Republican Exceptionalism.

Rule Theriault is the manager for the FFR's National Soccer Team. He was the manager of Petrograd United. After a disappointing end to his tenure there, he entered a team in the 27th Di Bradini Cup on behalf of the Federation of Free Republics. His mostly unheralded team finished 2nd in that competition, losing to the Equestrian States in the final. He led his Republican National Soccer Team to a 17th place finish in the 52nd Baptism of Fire and a 6th place finish in Group 20 during World Cup 65 qualifying. In the Cup of Harmony that year, the National Soccer Team overcame having to play in the Equestrian States and came back to win their final 2 matches, including a shocking victory over Jeru FC, one of the true powers of international soccer. In the 28th Di Bradini Cup, he led the FFR right back to the finals, this time finishing on the right note. The Free Republics finished 3rd in their second World Cup qualifying attempt, again falling short of qualification. On home turf for the Cup of Harmony, Theriault's team advanced out of the group stage for the first time ever in a WCC event before falling to the Licentian Isles. Theriault led the B National Team into Saintland for the UWCFA Gold Cup, where they finished second. In his team's 3rd attempt at qualifying for the World Cup, they survived the Group of Death and knocked out the Felix Trolls on the last day of qualifying, before losing to New Sideburn in the playoff. Returning to the Cup of Harmony last year, they advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to West Angola on penalty kicks. Now, Theriault will lead a young, inexperienced, Republican side to the 30th Di Bradini Cup in Starblaydia, with the lowest expectations in a DBC since their debut at DBC 27.
