After another thrilling season, the Torrumbarian Rugby Union League concludes with the Querlprey Kings at the top of the table, only just pipping the heavily favoured Harrisburgh Hawks. After a thrilling encounter between the two on the final day of the league, a last-minute try scored and converted by the Kings' fly-half Simon Cox (who was later voted as the Young Player of the Season) turned the game in the favor of the Kings. The match concluded 24-19.

A few notes on procedure:
All entries this season were accepted with the exception of Torrumbarry just now, with Buyan being given the benefit of the doubt this once. With 50 teams submitted from twelve leagues (eleven of which had previously submitted leagues), tournament organisers settled for the following solution to the scheduling issues.

The top qualifiers from the eleven leagues with previous submissions all got a bye, with the top three seeds from the rest of the qualifiers also getting a berth in the next round. The rest of the qualifiers, including all from the new leagues, entered into the qualifying stage, with the winners of the randomly drawn ties making the group stage.

For the Group Stage, teams were seeded by rank, and then randomly drawn, with no two teams from the same league permitted in the same group.

The draw for the Round of Sixteen is drawn randomly so every runner-up played away to a group winner, with no two teams from the same league permitted to play each other. Remaining rounds were drawn randomly.

With 11 teams entered from 6 different associations, including the last tournament’s winners, the Saugeain side Bugny Axemen, the tournament will run as follows. With no newcomers this time around, the six lowest ranked teams by co-efficient will play in the Qualifying Round, with the three winners advancing to the Group Stage, where teams will be drawn into two groups of four, with no teams from the same nation drawn against each other. After a double round robin, the top two teams from each group will face off in the Semi Finals, and you should all know how it goes from there.

There’s a Final, and somebody wins.

Congratulations to Sympetrum, who win the Challenge Cup at the second time of asking, and become the first Ko-orenite side to win the tournament, at least since its reboot. Commiserations to the Paradystopi side Zj Lucky 13s, who don’t seem to be so lucky in international competition. Despite being, by ranking, the best rugby league club in the multiverse, they have twice lost in the final; once to their countrymen, Dzias Damned, and now to Sympetrum. The spot automatically awarded to the champions did Bugny Axemen no good, after they were knocked out in the semi-finals this time out.

Confirming that the cutoff for the 7th (or 5th 'New') IRLCC is set for midday on Sunday 29th December 2013. This is, however, very subject to change as my RL plans and commitments for this period are sketchy at best.

I'm also guessing you'd like to see the updated IRLCC ranks?

The Warriors pick up their second straight title, and third overall, tieing them with Johnho for the League's all-time title leader. The Scott City Bulls will make their IRLCC debut this season, with an 18-6 victory over the Warriors on the final day securing them a spot. The other team from Scott City placed thirteenth, their first season finishing above last place.

Super Sixteen Season 10

The season started off with the usual Lockwood Cup, with an Apoxian club attempting to win it for the first time.

3rd Lockwood Cup: Islanders 14–14 JK Memorial Squad

In a confusing and controversial game, there is a draw in the Lockwood Cup, after Tim Harrikech scored an excellent drop goal in the closing seconds to salvage Apoxian pride. After a short interlude whilst the full rules were looked up, it was discovered that no extra time would be played, and in the event of a draw, the side from the holding nation (in this case, Islanders) would retain the trophy.

In the historic 10th season of organised rugby in Apox at least, and the 5th Super Sixteen season, Dwile Jerseys, win a title for the first time in seven seasons. Colesham City Blues were the only other real title contenders in the end, finishing three points behind in second. JK Memorial Squad remained in the mix, although they were quite a way off the title pace this season, while Gwinevra Saints returned to contention after a couple of seasons in the wilderness. Notable positioning are Islanders, who have created a dynasty of sorts in recent years, falling to 6th and only just getting international rugby and Mona Warriors surprising everyone and obtaining international rugby for the first time in their history. Hudd Trolls and Northern Urbanista will be surprised and depressed not to be playing internationally this time around.

Down the bottom, Carrington Devils and Oldem Academicals are both relegated to their respective countries, with both teams performing exceptionally poorly, Carrington being 26 points from Farnworth Rugby Club and safety and Oldem being 27 points off Barbury Exiles.

Apox Premier League

The 4th Season of the Apox Premier League is complete. The Vikings were the favourites to go up, will they live up to their billing?

So, it turns out that they do live up to expectations, the Vikings storming to another league title, and promotion to the Super Sixteen next season. Dwile Rugby and Exton Heraldrim came close as well. Northerly United do incredibly well at picking up bonus points, and in doing so, become the first team to be promoted to the Premier League to remain there for more than a season, with Cierbana going down this time around. They will be replaced by Oxshott United, winners of Apox Rugby League 2 next season.
