What has been voted on since I left?
I support peace in Israel and Palestine. The governments and people in power on all sides are an absolute disgrace, and their unwillingness to pursue peace is a disservice to the people they are meant to be serving. The status quo is not simply untenable; it is unquestionably unacceptable.

We are currently voting on the CCAC which will end in 1-2 hours. The Executive Reform Act has already been voted on, but I doubt you were gone that long.

The CCAC has officially PASSED, with a 46 majority for, 3 against, and 5 abstained.

I motion to begin debate on the Senatorial Procedures Omnibus.

There is no need to move to begin debate, as that is the default state of the chamber after a bill finishes voting.

I would like to once again propose that we amend the REA amendment to specify that the Deputy PM may succeed the PM and that there is no second voting round if a candidate wins a majority in the first.

I support this, but you'd have to write an amendment bill and get it into the SP Omnibus.

Yes, there is. It would be easier, however, to write another bill and title it amendment number 2, as that process is quicker than editing the REA first amendment bill.

But we'll need sponsors, then a motion to omnibus. Wouldn't it be simpler for Wolfmanne to edit his bill?

Yes, but in my assessment of difficulty I factored in Wolfmanne's activity level, which is probably lower than you would like for a collaborative process such as this.

I move to omnibus this with the bill currently at vote.

Second Amendment to the Republican

Executive Act

Drafted by: Yanalia [RG]
Sponsors: Maklohi Vai [LD], Oneracon [RG], The Nihilistic View [LD], Haelunor [RG], Free South Califas [CP], Venaleria [RG]

1. The Deputy Prime Minister shall be appointed by the Prime Minister and may perform the duties of the Prime Minister in case of resignation or a physical inability to complete duties on the part of the Prime Minister.

2. Clause 1-A of the REA is hereby struck out and rendered null and void. It shall be replaced with the following clause. "The President shall be the Head of State, elected by the Senate in a two-round system, in which the top two candidates from the first round shall be voted on, unless one candidate attains a majority of 50%+1 of the total votes in the first round, upon which that candidate assumes the Presidency without a second round of voting."

Throw me and Haulenor in there and you're good to go. When you omnibus it, you can quote this as a second, in case I miss it.
