Changes from WC64 are struck through.

Goalies

Tyson Richards- #1- 25 [injured]: Replaced by Michael Kerraway, #1, 30
Nick DeJesus- #2- 23
Blake Bennett- #2- 28 Eric Matthews- #4- 17

RECAP: Blake Bennett, who was generally ineffective in three world cups, is replaced by teenage phenom Eric Matthews, who isn't really going to play that much (hopefully). Matthews will be backup in event of Tyson Richards injury. Matthews has freakish athleticism but Richards and Nick DeJesus are better overall. Tyson especially lead the league in goal prevention and clean sheets last year, while DeJesus was seventh and fourth. But both DeJesus, Bennett (sixth and tenth), and Matthews (two games, one goal allowed, one clean sheet) are learning, although with Richards's injury history this might not be the best option. Richards's ability to stay healthy is vital for the team.

Defense

Left Back- Shawn Campbell- #10- 25 Lee Matthewson- #66- 25
Center Back- Jeff James- #14- 28 Cliff Palmer- #9- 23
Center Back- Ryan Jefferson- #13- 29
Right Back- Cliff Palmer- #9- 23 Alejandro Mujica- #5- 27
Backup-Lee Matthewson- #66- 25 Shawn Campbell- #10- 25
Backup- Jack Miller- #21- 29
Backup- Joe Evans- #12- 23

RECAP: Bryan Fergusonn really shook things up bringing in Llamaland Premier League star Alejandro Mujica to play Right, booting Cliff Palmer to center where Jeff James finally gets taken out. Also out of the starting 4 is Shawn Campbell. It's a better D than 64, but Mujica and Ryan Jefferson need to guide youngsters Lee Matthewson [25] Palmer [23]. Mujica is tremendous at stopping the ball, but he needs to stop running with it and use strong passers Ryan Jefferson and Cliff Palmer. Ferguson says Campbell will get about thirty minutes a game as a "defensive super-sub" and is happy with his position. Campbell: "Obviously I'd like to start, but this is as close as I can get to starting."

MIDFIELDERS

Left- Jared Mullin- #40- 21 Chris May- #33- 28
Center- Chris Chapman- #22- 23
Attacking- CAPTAIN Trevor Duncan- #17- 25
Right- ASSISTANT CAPTAIN John Oliver- #30- 31
Backup- Chris May- #33- 28 Jared Mullin - #40- 21
Backup- Robby Greene- #27- 23
Backup- James McGee- #0- 26

RECAP: 21-year-old Jared Mullin goes back to first man off the bench. Talented 28-year-old Chris May has some heart issues and may only play a half while Mullin gets the other. Mullin has yet to score in an international game, so he's disappointing so far with Assistant Captain John Oliver. Trevor Duncan has scored nearly every goal for the Llamas but can use Chris Chapman, Chris May, and hopefully Oliver.

STRIKERS

Left- ASSISTANT CAPTAIN Evan Powell- #36- 24
Right- Bobby Crosby- #43- 21
Backup- Mark Wayne- #82- 24 Luis Alcanatra- #14- 22
Backup- Johnny Rushmore- #15- 22

RECAP: The never-used Mark Wayne finally goes with twenty-two-year old Luis Alcanatra coming off the bench. Alcanatra provides balance in tandem with Bobby Crosby should Evan Powell go off while Rushmore's all-out attack mode fits with Evan Powell's game. We know Trevor Duncan will be great, but Powell needs to play well this cup.

STAFF

Manager- Bryan Ferguson- #11- Age 49
Coach- Lee "Wizard" Hayes- #76- Age 55
Coach- David Russell- #16- Age 33
Coach- Max Day- #91- Age 39
Trainer- Ray McMartin- #65- Age 40

The Llamas finally add a trainer in Ray McMartin, but Hayes, Russell, Day and Ferguson remain in place.

Style: +3
Formation: Bryan Ferguson is partial to the 4-4-2, but he switches formation depending on the other team.

STADIUM

Llama Stadium, which can hold up to 42,883, is a beautiful stadium in the southern suburbs of New Llama, Super-Llamaland.

Roster- (Starters in Bold)

GOALKEEPERS

1- Ryleigh Voegael - Dragoste Dragons (Antoletia) 40 Caps, 26 Years Old
After what can only be described as a sublime performance at goal during the Copa Rushmori, Ryeligh continues to grow better as she gets older and she continues to warrant the acclaim and plaudits she got during her youth years. Now her task is just to keep on keeping on, and help lead this team to world cup glory.

23 - Logan Watson - X Island Marauders 1 Cap, 22 Years Old
The third string keeper for the national team keeps on looking strong for his club, and come a few years from now he might well show himself to be the future of the keeper position in Taeshan.

25 - Jacob Martin - Atlantea Hurricanes 3 Caps, 25 Years Old
The second string keeper continues to be strong, but with little hope to ever surpass the starter, and little hope to stay better than his backup, one wonders why he continues to hope he can play for the national team as a starter.

DEFENDERS

3 - LCB, Jordan Jaffacake - Moresville FC 93 Caps, 6 Goals, 24 Years Old
The strong backbone of the Tae defense is strong, tall defender Jordan Jaffacake. The leader of the backline and the force behind the mighty Taeshan defense is in the form of this young man. He still continues to be one of the best center backs in the world, and should continue to be for many years to come.

4- RB, Peter Fasnacht - Los Riosa Monstas 50 Caps, 24 Years Old
The speedy right back Fasnacht has a flair for speed and a desire to win. With many assists down the right side, and a crossing ability matched by few Fasnacht is a very talented fullback and a strong head in the defensive back field.

7 - LB, Jeremiah Longwaters - Gordonopia FC 93 Caps, 1 Goal, 23 Years Old
The other fullback is the more defensive minded of the two. With a backtracking speed matching few, and little forward movement Jeremiah puts the defense into a solid position with one forward moving and one holding fullback. The team gets a lot of good play from the youngest of the four back line members.

19 - RCB, Lydie - Moresville FC 93 Caps, 5 Goals, 24 Years Old
Quite literally the other half of the Taeshani central defense Lydie is the smart center back. The calculating killer if you will. With an ability to find the second pass to lead to the goal, Lydie is the genius behind the ever present harsh Taeshani defense. The smallest and oldest member of the four defenders many opponents overlook her as a threat and in the end they really fall apart because of this.

2 - LB, Eddie Styles - MT Ceabring Thunder 35 Caps, 1 Goal, 25 years Old
Eddie Styles continues to be a strong fullback of the bench and many people thing perhaps he could fight for the top position on the left side with Jeremiah Longwaters, but to be fair Longwaters is a fan favorite and the new manager would get fired quickly if he didnt listen to the fans.

15 - CB, Grant Wetter - SK Aasiaat Harbour (Polar Islandstates) 27 Caps, 26 Years Old
The best backup Center back is Grant Wetter, but don't hold your breath if you think he will see the field. He is just a last minute defensive for striking sub in a close game. And lets be fair the Knights may have a lot of 1-0 wins, but that doesn't often mean that they are close games. Grant is lucky to have the Copa Rushmori's to pad his caps.

21 - FB, Gloria Walters - Gilley FC (Saugeais) 25 Caps, 25 Years Old
The final defender on the team and really just a numbers maker at this point, Gloria has been on the team just as long as all the other defenders, but still lacks the skill that the rest of the team has managed to have defensive speaking.

MIDFIELDERS

6 - LM, Gwyn Juniper - Bayern Phoenix 237 Caps, 56 Goals, 33 Years Old (CAPTAIN)
Oh Captain my captain. When Gwyn announced his return for one final season the nation rejoiced. The highest current cap winner, and goalscorer Gwyn is the leader in more ways then one for the national team. With the ability to not only break down international defenses, but to do it alone and help the offense on all other sides of the game.

9 - CDM, Manny Pato - Bayern Phoenix 56 Caps, 2 Goals, 27 Years Old
The second man from Bayern who surely must be happy considering the recent joining of another international player to his team, Manny is the center defensive midfield with the most. He can unlock defenses with brilliant forward looking passes and is the best stop gap in the Knights defense.

12 - RM, Andrew Müller - Arçon 39 Caps, 1 Goals, 24 Years Old
The man has been hinted to be the person who gets the keys to the Knights midfield at the end of the season with the leaving of Gwyn Juniper, and likely he will. Its always an outside midfielder who gets the role and Andrew surprised many with his performances last season and now is in the hot position in the Taeshani midfield.

14 - CAM, Xavier Ptolemy - Bayern-Algaer 65 Caps, 5 Goals, 27 Years Old
The speedy Attacking midfielder is the lead up midfielder for the Knights attack and works as a pivot for the Taeshani attack. With him getting fed the ball and him feeding the strikers, the Knights attack is very very potent.

11 - LM, Mark Tlumach - New Captown Falcons 6 Caps, 1 Goal, 23 Years Old
One of the favorites to be Gwyn Juniper's future replacement Mark is one of the U21 former players that really has a knack for the attack, and as the strongest left footed player it maybe soon before long that the young man from New Capetown earns his starting spot.

13- CM, Tyler Icicle - Tintown Terrapins 31 Caps, 1 Goals, 25 Years Old
The likely successor to Xavier Ptolemy, or Many Pato depending on who and when these players leave or retire. Icicle is an out of position player on the national team as a true center midfielder, and could very well be utilized in an offense that needed that position. In reality hes to good a player to be wasted out of position and off the team.

17 - CM, Aaron Conrad - Blacklake Blues 36 Caps, 2 Goals, 25 Years Old
The other likely future central midfielder type Conrad had a very good Copa Rushmori and with a few more campaigns with the international team like that he may be starting come a few years from now.

22 - CM, Jeremi Krieder - Ojian Orangemen 3 Caps, 23 Years Old
The most recent former U21 player to join the national team is star u21er and former captain Jeremi Krider. A strong stout central midfielder, with the strength and power of a man possessed Jeremi is the future of the strong Taeshani midfield.

STRIKERS

8 - RS, Ender Wiggin - Náutico (Whirl Islands) 139 Caps, 65 Goals, 27 Years Old
Ok, so maybe i lied Ender Wiggin is the current leading goalscorer for the Knights that are active, but to be fair its hard not to herald him, especially considering hes about to be done and Ender still has many years ahead of him. Many years to destroy many records, at least thats what we think he can do.

10- LS, Brian Ibrahim - Unattached (TG me) 80 Caps, 18 Goals, 25 Years Old
Its still a mystery how a nice young man like Ibrahim continues to be unattached without a solid team for almost three years now. The former Taeshani U21er dreams of playing abroad like Gwyn Juniper or Ender Wiggin, yet no one gives him a great chance. Hes such a great striker, which shows in his national team appearances yet no on outside of the national team seems to care.

5- RS, Kyle Laravy - Mt Ceabring Thunder 47 Caps, 5 Goals, 23 Years Old
The future starting striker is a very good striker, as he has shown in his many caps with a very intuitive attacking nature a very bully like running towards the ball and a knack for finding the right spot to head the ball in.

16 - LS, Tyler Pantoum - Goidelic (Ancharmunn) 7 Caps, 3 Goals, 20 Years Old
For a player so young its a surprise how consistently involved Pantoum gets in the national team, and how hes almost scored half of the games hes been in. Sure that may never compete against the likes of Brian Ying Uing, but he sure as hell can be the closest in the future.

20 - RS, Brian Kljestan - Bayern-Algaer 44 Caps, 10 Goals, 29 Years Old
The real force that showed at the Copa Rushmori was Brian Kljestan. Making a case for stud of the bench, Kljestan scored many goals starting for the team, including his second hat trick for the international team. If Kljestan gets hot and starts a few matches here or there opponents be wary.

24 - LS, Skylar Crane - Mt Ceabring Thunder 4 Caps, 23 Years Old
The other new member of the A Team is Skylar Crane. with a 4 game stint during the Copa Rushmori and a very strong couple of performances Crane made a name with Henning Tir and has managed to stay around for some more action.

Licentian National Football Team

The Cyan and Gold are now in their seventh World Cup, and after six years of close calls and disappointment, they are still waiting for their third qualification for the World Cup finals. While Joachim Schwartz won't be under too much pressure if the Licentian Islands have trouble qualifying again, there are a lot of fans who want to see their team back where they belong; in the World Cup proper, taking on the big boys.

Head Coach- Joachim Schwartz (Polar Islandstates):
Now in his third year as head coach/manager of the Licentian national team, Joachim Schwartz is much liked by football fans on the Licentian Islands. He has composed a strong side, unchanged from that which went to the recent Campionato Esportiva, despite many doubts about that side. A few names in the starting lineups have changed, but in the majority, this is the same Cyan-and-Gold side as always.

Goalkeepers:

1 – Cameron Ritchie – 33 years – SC Montfort
12 – Clark McDonald - 28 years - AFC Farnworth
13 – Duncan Watson – 30 years – Montfort Wanderers

Not much has changed on the goalkeeping front. Cameron Ritchie, in what could be his last World Cup campaign, according to sources in Montfort. Clark McDonald has been forever waiting for that day, the day where he gets his chance in goal once again; he'll have to wait a little while longer for that. Duncan Watson will retire at the end of this Cup, and he won't get his chance to take on the role before he steps out of the frame.

Full Backs:

2 – Evan Russell – 29 years – Colesham Athletic
3 – Toby Bishop – 27 years – Carrington United
14 – Kevin Boyle – 28 years – Old Corinthians

Evan Russell has found himself a change of scenery; he has made his way back to the Islands from Taeshan, signing with preseason favourites Colesham Athletic, and it has endered him to the fans. Toby Bishop, despite a hamstring injury in preparation for the Cup, will soldier on, much to the disappointment of Kevin Boyle, who hoped to take Bishop's place.

Centre Backs:

4 – Sam Hill – 23 years – Surtsey Island Gulls (PIS)
5 – Dennis Munro – 22 years - Gaels
15 – Kyran Stevenson – 30 years – Gwinevra Barbarians (APX)
16 – Grant Ferguson – 22 years – SC Montfort

Dennis Munro, the young Gaels centre back, will get a chance to impress the Polarian in the first few games of qualifying, after Kyran Stevenson, now thirty, was dropped to the bench. Sam Hill, recently moved to Surtsey, will continue as a starter, while Grant Ferguson will continue on the bench, hoping to get the same chance that Munro got.

Holding Midfielders:

8 – Nate Parkinson – 29 years – Arka Snezhnaya (MYT)
17 – Mark McKay – 24 years – Abingdon Celtic

Much controversy surrounds the star of the show, Nate Parkinson, going into this Cup. First, his move to Arka in Mytannion has caused much anger in Farnworth, while Joachim Schwartz, wanting to keep this controversy away from his squad, stripped Parkinson of the captaincy, which turned out to do the opposite. Mark McKay is yet to get a chance, and he is apparently considering searching through family history to find another nation he can play for, out of Parkinson's shadow.

Centre Midfielders:

6 – Ruaraidh Donaldson – 29 years – Abingdon Celtic
10 – Dylan Knight – 35 years – Montfort Wanderers
18 – Ben Black - 26 years – Old Corinthians
19 – Josh Brown – 23 years – Red Star Severny (PIS)

Dylan Knight, a legend of the national team, will be retiring after this Cup at the age of 36. He has played everywhere on the attacking area of the pitch, and now, he will be retiring. Ben Black and Josh Brown, two fairly young players with a good chance of joining Ruaraidh Donaldson in the centre of midfield after World Cup qualifying. In the meantime, the best midfield pairing for a while will play their last tournament together.

Wingers:

7 – Lewis Naylor – 29 years – Colesham Athletic
11 – Aran Miller – 16 years – SC Montfort
20 – Jacob Paterson – 31 years – Montfort Wanderers
21 – Jared Anderson – 26 years – Carrington United

Lewis Naylor is another player who has made his way back to the Islands after a succesful stint abroad, moving back from Teva in Gordonopia to his old club Colesham. Aran Millar has impressed Schwartz during his time at SC, and the sixteen year old will be starting for the Licentian Islands, at least for a couple of games of qualifying. Jacob Paterson and Jared Anderson will get quite a few games from the bench.

Centre Forwards:

9 - Logan Moran – 33 years – Northbrook Diamonds (PIS) - C
22 – Alexander Keir – 28 years – FC Endeavour (APX)
23 – Roddy Dickson – 19 years - RSK Longyearbyen Town (PIS)

Logan Moran will be sent out in style by the Cyan-and-Gold, with his last tournament for the national team spent starting up front, and wearing the captain's armband that was recently taken from Nate Parkinson. "King" Keir has dropped to the bench, likely for only one campaign, while Roddy Dickson rounds out a strikeforce that is wholly based outside the Licentian Islands.

Formation – The Pythagorean v2/The Hourglass:
A variant on the Pythagorean system used by Schwartz in the Polar Islandstates, the only real difference is that the Cyan-and-Gold system involves two triangles linked together by the holding midfielders, which looks sort of like an hourglass on paper (hence, the name).

Starting Eleven – 1/3-4-5-2/8/7-6-10-11/9

Home Stadium:
Luke Thomas I Stadium, Montfort, Montfort Parish
Capacity: 75,000, all seated

LTI Stadium is the home of Licentian sports. Having held the final of the Campionato Esportiva, the entirety of the Campionato di Atletica Esportiva, and the final of the Grand Duke’s Challenge Cup in the past, along with hosting the Licentian national football and lacrosse teams, Montfort Wanderers, and Montfort LC, this all-seater stadium (the only such ground on the Islands) is truly the behemoth of the Islands’ sporting culture. You can expect to see royalty fairly often too, with the Grand Duke, Luke Thomas II, a regular attendee of the games at the stadium named for his father.

NORTHERN SUNRISE ISLANDS WORLD CUP 65 ROSTER
THE VAPOREONS

ImageImage
ImageImage
ImageImage
ImageImage

After some issues with Fairy-types, the Sunrisian team will now go under the nickname of the Vaporeons. Why? Well, let's face it, having a little round cute ball of an animal for mascot was plausible, but all that with half Fairy-typeness? Unacceptable!

GOALKEEPERS
#01 - Trent MILLARD (San Jose Sharks - Northern Sunrise Islands)
Millard was a rookie with some prospect when the first Universitarian League rolled around. Obviously, he wasn't taken much seriously, thus making him stay in Northern Sunrise Islands lines, which placed him as a Goalkeeper for the Seaside Wartortles. The Wartortles then noticed they couldn't make much use of the player, so they kept him playing on other teams around the world. Monty Python, Peace of Saint Anne and Jacob, Canondale Bombers, Hermann Aichinger and finally a run with Afonse Batallion would let him return to the Sunrisian Lands. He stuck with the Batallion, thanks to his great skills as a goalie finally rising from him, which made San Jose Sharks take him under their team. And now he's in the national team.

#12 - Maurício ROSÁRIO (Fluminense - Barra e Janeiro)
Rosário spent little time with the team that drafted him back in the Universitarian League, as San Jose Sharks was still in its way to become a good team in NSI, thus making him go around Unzucneru Association. While he wasn't a hit at some teams, he eventually found fortune when Barra e Janeiro's Fluminense gave him a call. He became a hit, almost becoming a Barrian to represent the country at a Cuppet or something like that. However, Bourbon remembered of him and brought the Aranha Negra for the Vaporeons.

#32 - Mellody SIOUX (Armée de la Déesse - Kitsunia-Deesse)
A Nekonian, Mellody Sioux played for Kitsunia-Deesse during the years that nekonians were not allowed at the Sunrisian Football Leagues. Mellody is actually pretty good, giving Armée de la Déesse all they need to survive well in the Ligue 1 and in their appearences at Rushmore
tournaments.

SIDEBACKS
#02 - Justin REDWING (Koberhausen 13 - Flock Nation) [CAPTAIN]
Redwing may have changed teams, as Koberhausen decided to give a good sum of money for the talented left-winger of Bayer Rossenwulf, but is still a big player in Flock Nation and an important name for the Vaporeons. He still remembers of the Lavonia war, which gave him a scar near his left eye. Normally with a red headband to remember of the Foreurs, which were the team that drafted him back then, Redwing is a captain with rights.

#05 - Anthony HAWK (Minigoleada - Dainer)
The Hawk, The Kid. Anthony Hawk has made himself a decent cult of fans in Dainer with Minigoleada as the Foreigner who shines in the strong nationalist squad of Minigoleada. A loyal player to the Vaporeons, Hawk made his best to continue in the task of becoming a great right-back.

#13 - Andressa DE SOUZA (Lynder Frosslasses - Northern Sunrise Islands)
A perfeccionist, Andressa is close to her good old friend Larissa, who plays at Neuville, not too far from Lynder. While small, she is as fast as possible and tend to have a great outsider look in the field. A good way to tick her, back then was to miswrite her surname as DE SOUSA, which related to Francisco de Sousa, a forward player.

#14 - Larissa SOUZA (Neuville Scythers - Northern Sunrise Islands)
A lunatic, but nice person. Playing together with her old highschool friend Andressa, Larissa is a decent player at her position, hardly giving up the ball. Was kept due to her decent array of skills.

CENTERBACKS
#03 - Netto HIKARI (Augusta - Darmen)
He was a loan coin back when he was in NSI, but no team ever noticed that he was a great player. Augusta did, and brought him with them for some football. As you might have guessed, he is another uprising player with enough skill for the Vaporeons.

#04 - Yolanda MCFLEMMING (Acropolis - Dainer)
A strong and experienced player in the defense, McFlemming was originally born in New Capitalia, but her old country was added to the Sunrisian Territories, thus making her a Sunrisian. She's debuting at any national team, either from New Capitalia or from Northern Sunrise Islands.

#15 - Pippi MANGALONGA (Northern Stars - Felix)
The younger sister of Iau, Pippi is probably one of the most hidden talent of Northern Sunrise Islands to be featured in the roster. Sent by her original club, the Matthew City Senators to the Northern Stars, a team that works as a farm team in Felix, the younger Mangalonga has
also four brothers and seven sisters that are still developing to possibly play soccer. Could the Mangalongas become a family enshrined in the Sunrisian Football?

#16 - Natsu HANEKAWA (Blue Bay AFC - Kythenna)
A full-length handy player, Hanekawa plays strongly like Tom McCloud, as both of them can easily can fit in any position, thus becoming a very required player in the national team. She's still in the Project +90, but has enough skill to try for an international team.

MIDFIELDERS
#06 - Tom "Starfox" MCCLOUD (Colonial Sile - Vilita)
Son of two of the most condecorated officials at Sunrisian Air Force, the older McCloud of the recent generation was strongly considered after seeing how good this kid is as an all-around player. Also, playing in Vilita gets you this far in Sunrisian National Football.

#07 - Iau MANGALONGA (Jenipapa - Dainer)
The Princess of the midfield, this white haired nekonian has become the blue chip of the team, playing inside Dainer, Mangalonga has not disappointed her colleagues in the Daineri team, winning a title on her debut at the league. While her past may be quite dark for
commoners, the future shines in the eyes of this young girl.

#08 - Guillermo DI LUCA (Montfort Wanderers - Licentiapacisterra)
A solid player, this young blonde hasn't disappointed in the cyan-and-gold land, showing decent reason of why he is still around in the Marills' squad. Acts as the vice-captain.

#10 - Namine NAGATOMO (Issington FC - Apox)
The dazzler, the one that started playing street football before stepping up to the grass pitch. Nagatomo is techincally experienced, having spent her teenager years in the concrete pitches of Mardi as a street footballer who would later earn a lot with that image. Then, out of her upcoming 19th anniversary, she would make the trip to one of NSI's biggest rivals, Apox, only to become a professional player and have enough money to help her family around. Inspiring and deserving of number 10 indeed.

#17 - Bridgitte LAVAL (La Naranja - Dandillis)
"Hanging around the corner" region-wise and well placed in the bench, Bridgitte has some history in international football that can't be left without notice. A more experienced player, continues with the Vaporeons for the next tournaments.

#18 - Brendan CRAWFORD (Augusta - Darmen)
The Hot Shot in Flock Nation, would later move to Darmen, but will never ever be forgotten by his fans at AZ Avalar and Saint Magdalene United for all his hard work. He has been with the Vaporeons for quite sometime, so no surprises here.

#19 - Harley "Quinn" SMITH (Feardillis' Wanderers - Farfadillis)
Harley has went through almost everything a human could even go through, with only around twenty years old! Kinda bizarre, but you have to admit that this madgirl is something totally different from what NSI tends to offer in their national team. Not even the best tactician can put her locked, so good luck for the opponents with her.

#20 - DUDA (Augusta - Darmen)
Techinically an experienced player, but new to the Marills. He tend to play the tutor role for Crawford and Hikari, who play with him at Darmen, but Marcos Eduardo knows what he's talking off. Considerably, a legend at Andarahy, he wants to show what he's capable off in the sets of the World. And Augusta is joyfully helping him do so.

FORWARDS
#09 - Christie TRAVIS (Matthew City Rangers - Northern Sunrise Islands)
Born in Osarius, easilly taken as another child of the land in Matthew City, Ms. Travis has one of the best shooting ranges of the forwards of the national team and is rising consistantly with the Vaporeons. The brunette has also been given, finally, the captain position at the Rangers and could easilly challenge Redwing for the position.

#11 - Mateus CARVALHO (Bartholomew FC - Boring Paradise)
Back in the old days, Carvalho was considered a blue chip. Now, at Boring Paradise, he is slowly developing to what people said he should become. Versatile player and onipresent (at least that's what we hope he is) during all ninety minutes.

#21 - Melina PATIY (Bufelino - Dainer)
Patiy was one of the first players to ever leave the (back then) Protetorate of Northern Sunrice for the outside world, in this case, the nation of Dainer. While not really the greatest success inside the dragon-born country, she is a solid player, thus becoming a good reserve for the team.

#22 - Louise MONTBLANC (Altomare - Felix)
A graduate from Project +90, Montblanc enters the national team as a blue chipper that could become another diamond if well worked. She's now with Altomare from Felix and could have a hard time playing against her comrades from Northern Stars.

COACH
Lynette Bourbon (Matthew City Rangers - Northern Sunrise Islands) [+1,5]
The coach of the team, considered a smart woman for getting NSI at a better place than what was expected for them all along. While she doesn't know whether the future is shining for her or not, Bourbon is slowly maturing to be a good coach and could raise some eyebrows in the next tournaments.

STADIUM
Image
The Union Stadium is one of the biggest stadiums of Northern Sunrise Islands. And for good reasons, may I add. Being the main stadium of the nation's capital and being the home of one of the best teams of the Sunrise League probably should protect their point as a major center of football. Kinda makes you wonder if opponents would feel impressed, afraid or proud of playing at such majestic stadium. Also, it was done here, so I guess you can understand why it looks so awesome.

STAFF:
Manager: Morten Rasmussen, 56
Record in Charge: P 31, W 22, D 5, L 4, GF 52, GA 18, GD +34, WP 71%
With the Terns stagnating and fresh blood needed, last manager Joachim Schwartz offered his resignation in good faith and saw it accepted by the FPIFA. They agreed that time had drawn to a close on the Schwartz era, and as the WCC Presidency moved to the nation, the next chapter must begin. Former FC Axel Heiburg boss Morten Rasmussen took over at the helm of the Terns for the first time last cycle, and they will hope he builds on the solid foundations he laid there this time around. After going unbeaten in qualifiers and reaching the quarter finals at his first attempt at the World Cup, they nonetheless suffered something of a disappointing Copa Rushmori, crashing out against Mapletish in the second round. It was taking the Axel Heiburg Argonauts from Divisjon Two to three time Divisjon One champions that first attracted the FPIFA to Rasmussen, and his winning mentality is something he appears to have dragged across with him. With a keen eye for developing young talent and playing attractive football, it is no surprise to see Rasmussen ring the changes for his second cycle in charge, having experimented at the Copa. Rejuvenating this side is the first and most important task on his checklist, and if the trophies at the bottom of the list are going to be checked off also, then it's first things first. The future is coming.

Assistant Manager: Steffan Pekarik, 44
Steffan Pekarik is a player who knows what it takes to succeed. Holding 141 caps for the Terns and appearing for East Franz Athletic and KagPaz club Urajbina, he later joined Axel Heiburg and was their first ever title lifting captain in his last ever season of professional playing, all under Morten Rasmussen's guidance. He then went straight into the coaching set-up at the Argonauts and was the assistant manager, second only to Rasmussen, by the time Jorgen Hauge lifted the title three seasons later. Upon Rasmussen's job offer at the Terns, Pekarik was swiftly whisked across as well, and it is thought that the inspirational and dynamic former left-back with the talent for man-management is being trained and prepared for a crack at a big management job himself in the future.

PLAYERS:
#1 - GK - Artemiusz Korzhanenko - Age 26 - Image SK Franz Josef City Image - 30 Caps
Known for his strong performances whilst with the u-21s, Korzhanenko has been given the chance to make the Terns number one jersey his own after he captured the number one jersey at SK, though in truth he is probably only just ahead of the talent of Kirilaunen at the moment. Nigh on unbeatable when running out for the ball in the box, he also has a great record in penalty shoot outs, and you never know when that might come in handy. With the long qualification campaign just what he needs to find his nerves, Rasmussen will be watching his development here keenly, but is also expected to give Kirilaunen plenty of game-time.

#2 - DR - Dima Petersen - Age 29 - Image Ituraitz FC (ASG) Image - 56 Caps, 3 Assists, 1 Goal
Rasmussen originally raised a few eyebrows amongst his fellow coaches by re-calling Ituraitz defender Petersen, but he had made a pledge to choose players based on form rather than reputation, and so Petersen came back. Hesjedal replaced the Ituraitz captain when he voluntarily retired from international football, but his barnstorming run captaining Ituraitz to international trophy after international trophy combined with Hesjedal's shaky performance at the Copa means Rasmussen begged Dima to return. Hesjedal is the future, no doubt, but the short-term is about results and that means Petersen.

#3 - DC - Julius Oyen-Spekke - Age 31 - Image East Franz Athletic Image - 111 Caps, 8 Assists, 6 Goals
Quietly putting in match-winning performances isn't easy in the Federation League, where every move is scrutinised and caught on camera, but playing for a club outside the big four helped. Oyen-Spekke is a defender upon whose shoulders many hopes rested when his promotion to the starting XI was once seen as something of a risk, however daft that may sound now. He hasn't looked back since, and following disappointing results in the league for Resolute Storm he moved for big money to East Franz Athletic and has become one of the best defenders in the country since. His agility and ability in the air is almost unmatched, and for sheer athleticism he'll be hard to beat, even in his advancing years. With the retirement of Torre Urfstadt, Oyen-Spekke is now the experienced head in this defence, and he'll be called upon to lead by example.

#4 - DC - Soren Rovanpera - Age 25 - Image FC Axel Heiburg Image - 22 Caps, 1 Goal
Already a multiple title-winning defender with the formidable 'Golden Generation' of FC Axel Heiburg, Soren Rovanpera is well known to Rasmussen. Wise beyond his years, Soren is capable of marking even the very best players out of the game on his day, and he can frustrate and torment like a pro, teasing more than one volatile striker into a sending off in his time. With a good future ahead of him, Rovanpera will be keen to add to his caps here as he has seized the place in the starting line-up that David Wien has currently vacated following the collapse of confidence following the Copa.

#5 - DL - Kohev Küngas-Vaga - Age 26 - Image Northbrook Diamonds FK Image - 80 Caps, 15 Assists, 7 Goals - VICE-CAPTAIN
Impressed as the u-21s captain despite going out in the group stages of the DBC under his watch, this defender is well known and trusted by the management team, and is looking like being the captain when Alexsandr van Sorensen finally retires. Kohev is a combative and battling left-back, though he is a talented centre back and defensive midfielder as well, and this enthusiasm and adaptability is something that Rasmussen will be able to make good use of. Moving to the first team as a result of Edvar Folke's previous hamstring tear, his athleticism was called upon to offer support and attacks from down the left side, and he later ousted the now internationally-retired SK defender from the starting XI entirely.

#6 - DMC - Eyvindur Sudesval - Age 30 - Image SK Franz Josef City Image - 67 Caps, 3 Assists, 5 Goals
Another fan-favourite who has captained the u-21s in the past, Sudesval came to the senior side with a wealth of experience already in his back pocket, and his performances at defensive midfielder have more than held up to the absence of Jorgen Hauge since. Confident in his own abilities, he lets his football do the talking, and this quiet individual can often be seen practising alone if left to his own devices. Strong in the air and full of potential, his fitness levels are astonishing, able to run end to end for 120 minutes if needed to, therefore making him a perfect payer for the Pythagorean system. Boasts a powerful thunderbolt of a shot as well as the ability to control and dictate a match. He's a pro all-round defensive midfielder, which is exactly why SK brought him back from Saugeais in an effort to fix their lack of weight in the middle of the park. A late bloomer, perhaps, but what a bloom.

#7 - MC - Jean-Eric Villeneuve - Age 25 - Image Northbrook Diamonds FK Image - 41 Caps, 17 Assists, 6 Goals
Moving back to Northbrook from Cap Nordique in Cotdelapoms, Villeneuve is a creative attacking midfielder in the same mould as Lepka and Demarchelier and, like the latter, he hails from the Rochefroides community of Ellismare. Fluent in five languages, he is incredibly intelligent as far as footballers go, and his range of passing and vision on the pitch is evidence of this. Not the fastest player to have ever hit the turf, he lets the football do all the hard work for him, which can lead to his apparent lack of effort being an easy target for disgruntled fans is results aren't going so well. Fortunately, with Jean-Eric in the side, this is rarely the case, and with the help of Rasmussen and Pekarik's encouragement, even the pace and athleticism is starting to improve.

#8 - MC - Marten Cornelius - Age 29 - Image FC Axel Heiburg Image - 67 Caps, 27 Assists, 10 Goals
Cornelius came into the squad having been an inspiring presence for the u-21s in the past, and some impressive game-changing performances for Axel Heiburg underlined his quality as he was a key member of their Champions' Cup title-winning side. Two assists in his first five caps for the Terns gave glimpses of a fine midfielder with excellent vision, and despite playing a more attacking role for Axel Heiburg, we see him in the traditionally 'box-to-box' slot in the Pythagorean midfield plan. His inspirational midfield performance against Yuba United in the final of the Champions' Cup, pinging passes left right and centre as the Silver-Blues had no answer to his output, showed us that he's perhaps the closest thing we've got to Alexsandr van Sorensen's driving midfield creativity, and as one of the experienced senior members of this side now, he will be needed to provide some leadership as well as support for the ageing van Sorensen.

#9 - ST - Vadim Illich-Svitych - Age 26 - Image FC Axel Heiburg Image - 59 Caps, 5 Assists, 17 Goals
With van der Riise taking both Jagr and Illich-Svitych to Wight for the Brevity Cup, the latter found his range with explosive style in his first match off the bench, and he was frequently brought on to terrorise defences late in the game after that. He has had a couple of outstanding seasons in the Federation League, quite rightly catching the eye as FC Axel Heiburg lifted the title and took the Champions' Cup with them a few seasons back, and this young striker with the dazzlingly good ball skills will seek to continue his development. Trusted and relied upon by Rasmussen, it is safe to say that up until now he is yet to hit the heights for the Terns that he manages for the Argonauts. However, that has started to change now his former club manager is his national manager.

#10 - AMC - Alexsandr van Sorensen - Age 35 - Image Jan Mayen Islanders Image - 235 Caps, 96 Assists, 99 Goals - CAPTAIN
Shining light of the side Alexsandr is now just turning thirty-five, and at his best he can still be devastatingly untouchable. Played a vital role for Jan Mayen before his move to Cafundéu where he played for Petardos S/A and CR Submiria, and is now back home to the Ospreys after making waves with Valladar club AS Bezieres in the Super League, winning the Cygnus Cup three times in the process. Suffers from rare brain condition synaesthesia, meaning his senses get muddled up in his head, but manages to not let this affect his attractive attacking play - indeed if anything it appears to help him. Having played as a midfielder for Petardos S/A, Joachim Schwartz made full use of this natural tendency of Alexsandr's to drift backwards, and placed upon his shoulders the crucially important role of trequartista in his tactical scheme - taking up the pivotal role behind the strikers in the 'attacking triangle', and acting as a midfielder when the side has to defend. An all-time legend already, he is without a doubt the Terns' key player at this tournament and indeed he probably will be until he retires. However, the Terns have shown that they can win without him in their four-two win over The Holy Empire at the last World Cup, so perhaps the side's dependency on him to pull the strings is being phased out by Rasmussen. After all, he won't be around forever.

#11 - ST - Felix Saarinen - Age 29 - Image East Franz Athletic Image - 48 Caps, 3 Assists, 28 Goals
With a series of hugely impressive performances in the Federation League, Saarinen's partnership up front with Kvitchenko has seen the Polarian duo become one of the most feared partnerships in the league. He is fast and nimble, and yet is able to command a lone striker position if necessary, and Kvitchenko's international retirement has allowed his team-mate a shot in the starting line-up just as he is hitting his peak condition. A tall and dangerous figure in the box, his resilient pace late on will torment tired legs, and this will surely see him make an impact as he aims to improve his impressive goal ratio yet again. Twitchers are excited to see just what he could achieve in the Terns shirt, and whilst he hasn't been granted as many chances for the national team as he perhaps could have done, he is nevertheless hotly tipped to shine this tournament.

#12 - GK - Iulian Kirilaunen - Age 22 - Image FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls Image - 5 Caps
Kirilaunen was handed the number one jersey at Surtsey a couple of season's ago, repaying the confidence shown in him by producing some outstanding performances as the Gulls exceeded all expectations. Twenty-two years old is very young for a goalkeeper to appear on the national team's bench, but there are some intensifying whispers about this young man, and Rasmussen hasn't really surprised that many people by including him here. Word has it that Korzhanenko's performances will be closely scrutinised this tournament, so you never know what could happen.

#13 - GK - Alexis Sand - Age 24 - Image Iturributa United (ITB) Image - 1 Cap
Just as he was making his breakthrough at Red Star, Alexis Sand has been whisked away by former Severny hero and now Iturributa United manager Petter Bielsen to make his name on the Goose Coast. With a decent stretch and a firm punch, he'll do well when defending set pieces in the box, and his reflexes are second to none. There have been some concerns raised over his tendency to stay on his line when a sweeper-keeper approach might be more appropriate, but he is young yet and it is not difficult to see why he has been snapped up by the Iturributan giants.

#14 - AMC - Linus Bosnjakovic - Age 23 - Image Olympique de Fontvielle (VLD) Image - 5 Caps, 2 Assists, 1 Goal
Moving back to RSK after a season spent on loan at Solovetsky Monastery re-energised this former striker, and, now he prefers to operate behind the main strikers he has had his services purchased by Olympique de Fontvielle, of Valladares. He can spread the balls around at will, and he brings a one-touch one-two kind of speed and urgency around the box that the Terns aren't used to seeing. He'll certainly be a useful tool in Rasmussen's box of tricks, and he hasn't forgotten his striking instincts, either - just watch out for his fizzing shots given the time on the ball. He had an outstanding start to his Terns career at the Copa, with two assists and a goal in five matches, and he'll be competing with Zeljeznicar or a more permanent role in the squad.

#15 - DL - Fabian Vaaraniemi - Age 23 - Image FC1. Bjarnarey Flotilla Image - 8 Caps
A hugely impressive series of performances in Divisjon One has seen this fleet of foot left back from the Flotilla get another chance on the bench for the Terns. Lightning fast and with a hefty amount of momentum given the chance to run, he will be hard to stop late on in games should he come on. Still waiting for his first goal, or assist, but with several in Divisjon One from his tempting floated free kicks, it is surely just a matter of time. That is, if Kohev Kungas-Vaga allows him any game-time.

#16 - DR - Alexander Hesjedal - Age 25 - Image Northbrook Diamonds FK Image - 18 Caps, 1 Assist, 1 Goal
As one of the key attacking outlets for his club side, Hesjedal was brought in by Rasmussen to replace the attacking options that the retired Zacharias Juul always offered the Terns when it mattered. His performances at the Copa were not exactly eye-catching for the right reasons, and it is no coincidence that he has been dropped to the bench as a result. He's flitted in and out of form in the past, leading to him being dropped for the World Cup squad, but he was one of Northbrook's outstanding performers last season as they won the title, and his wicked drilled crosses could be lethal for the Terns on counter-attacks. Didn't cover himself in glory with a vicious red card in a friendly against Apox, but has the chance to redeem himself here. Let's hope he doesn't waste it.

#17 - DMC - Eikr Lillehammer - Age 23 - Image SK Aasiaat Harbour Image - 5 Caps
Another player to have suddenly blossomed in recent years is Eikr Lillehammer. Never even in contention for a u-21s spot in his youth, he was let go by the Northbrook Academy without much fanfare, and picked up by AFK Hans Island Pioneers. Performances there lead SK Aasiaat Harbour to purchase his services at the start of last season, and by the end of it he’d played his way into being one of the first names on the team sheet. With a battling mentality and a new-found confidence, Eikr is flying at the moment, and Rasmussen may have hitched his trailer to the right back-up defensive midfielder to the right player at the right time. The one that got away for Northbrook?

#18 - ST - Gustaf Kolehmainen - Age 24 - Image FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls Image - 6 Caps, 2 Goals
With a vicious right boot and a desire to succeed, Gustaf Kolehmainen is another player upon whom Surtsey are building their hopes of a title-winning side for the first time in nearly thirty years. Has only made six appearances with two goals for the Terns so far, but has been widely lauded for his performances in Divisjon One in the past two seasons, and he has reportedly been the subject of more than a couple of big money bids as teams are lining up to procure the services of the young man who grew up in Surtsey. He’s staying put for now, though, and if I know Gustaf he will be focused on one thing and one thing only – scoring for the Terns.

#19 - MC - Anders Ekman - Age 26 - Image Teva FC (UGO) Image - 4 Caps, 2 Assists
Over the course of three or four seasons, Ekman had gone from a rotation option to one of FC Torshavn’s most trusted midfielders, and under Rasmussen’s guidance he received his first ever international call-up. Cynics and sceptics will point out his relative age for someone receiving their first cap, but supporters will point to his stats at club level, and the international stats of another late bloomer to the Terns – Casper Baek. Anders Ekman certainly has it within him to be the kind of midfield general that Baek was. Now playing in the United Gordonopian league, he just needs a sustained chance in the first team to establish himself.

#20 - ST/TQ - Alexis Zeljeznicar - Age 22 - Image Ituraitz FC (ASG) Image - Uncapped
After starting out for South Factory courtesy of their Polarian connections, Zeljeznicar was snapped up by global champions Ituraitz FC when South Factory were relegated. Like Bosnjakovic and of similar age, he is a former striker that has since retreated to a more supporting role, and the two of them will be competing to come on when van Sorensen is given a rest at the end of games. Pacy, aggressive, a handful in the box for both sets of players, and wickedly talented, if he could only stop basing his lifestyle of Timo Skye's he could be very good indeed.

#21 - MC - Jorgen Kirvesniemi - Age 24 - Image Fontvielle Impact (VLD) Image - 19 Caps, 3 Assists, 1 Goal
Appearing regularly in the top flight for Rapid Jan Mayen and then later in Divisjon Two, his signing by Red Star Severny was seen another step in the young midfielder's development, and one that has brought him once again to the attentions of first van der Riise, then Rasmussen, and then the Valladar giants of Fontvielle Impact. He has it all in his locker, and can twist and turn out of danger, or provide a battling block as necessary. He can inspire and rifle in assists, or he can sit back and dictate play. Unwilling to let him become a positional expert, the coaches are keen to let him add to his arsenal of overall talents. Could be a world-great in the future - another Hansen or Bielsen - so this is the time for him to crack on and really make a name for himself.

#22 - DC - David Wien - Age 26 - Image Jan Mayen Islanders Image - 32 Caps, 1 Assist, 2 Goals
Thanks to Jan Mayen Islanders' partnership with Liventian team Caernville Seahawks, Wien had already accumulated a significant amount of first team experience by the time he broke into the Jan Mayen first team; experience that also set him up well as he moved from the u-21s side into the full international side and then the starting line-up. His leadership and positional knowledge is already at an advanced stage, and his popularity with the other players in the side is noticeable to all. Pencilled in by some in the media as a future captain, he walks the fine line between being popular and being a leader like an expert. Despite this, his short temper can sometimes let him down as it did in the Copa, and he moves back to the bench for the qualifiers.

#23 - DC - Joachim Elden - Age 23 - Image FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls Image - Uncapped
Thanks to a well established scouting network, FC1. Surtsey Island Gulls are able to discover the greatest hidden gems in other teams' squads. Wasting at RSK Longyearbyen Town, Joachim Elden has been plucked away by the Gulls and has produced a string of impressive performances by way of saying thank you. With a strong presence and a keen eye for reading the game and blocking attacks before they've even got going, Elden is a player who could easily find himself in the starting line-up before too long.

TACTICS: "The Pythagorean" 2-3-3-2
The Polarian game is fast, quick, and physical. They won't give you a second on the ball to think, and they won't hold back in the tackle. In the centre of the park they will play a possession based midfield game, though a defence splitting pass could come at any moment towards the fast and direct attack. Seeing no reason to alter the formation based on the talents of Polarian footballers, Rasmussen will be keeping Schwartz's tactical plan, a narrow and heavily modified diamond formation dubbed the Pythagorean by the sporting press. It is reliant upon two key triangular sets of players that transcend the normal "rows" of player in conventional formation layouts. Oyen-Spekke, Rovanpera, and Sudesval will act as the defensive triangle, and van Sorensen, Saarinen, and Illich-Svitych will counter at the other end as the offensive triangle. Sudesval and van Sorensen's roles in this scheme are absolutely crucial, as their job is to support and unlock the other two players in their respective triangles, providing outlets and creativity in abundance. Villeneuve and Cornelius will be part of a compact and creative midfield that will supply steel or style whenever the situation demands it, as well as partnering up with their respective full backs to form a kind of "bumper" that sweeps the flanks in attack or folds in to protect the penalty area in defence. Fitness of all players will therefore be key to the success of this plan, not least the constant positional changing demanded of Sudesval and van Sorensen, but the athleticism of Petersen and Küngas-Vaga in particular will be tested to the limit as their roles require frequent attacking. It's not quite a 4-3-3, it's not quite a 4-1-2-1-2, and it's not quite a W-M... its the Pythagorean.

Free Kick Taker: Alexsandr van Sorensen/Jean-Eric Villeneuve/Marten Cornelius

Roster

GOALKEEPERS

1 - Adolf Dumitrescu - X Island Marauders (Taeshan) 29 Caps, 26 Years Old
The man at the end of the Antoletian line is the tall strong keeper Adolf Dumitrescu. He may not be the greatest keeper in the world, but he is very good at what he does.

23 - Martin Anghelescu - Bayern-Algaer (Taeshan) 1 Cap, 19 Years Old
The future of Antoletian keeping, Martin is a solid third string for now while he waits for his own time to come.

24 - Danny Müller - Brady City Crunch (Darmen) 1 Cap, 29 Years Old
The backup keeper is the man many see as just a squad filler for now, and with little hope to get much looks unless the starter is hurt, Danny is just a stopgap.

DEFENDERS
2 - LB, Niculae Ricard - New Capetown Falcons (Taeshan) 34 Caps, 27 Years Old
One of the more recent additions to the starting back line, and a very good one at that Niculae is a very good fullback going forward, and very good tackler overall.

3 - LCB, Sebastian - Atlantea Hurricanes (Taeshan) 104 Caps, 2 Goals, 30 Years Old
The stalwart center back for the Knights is Sebastian, starting now for over five campaigns many believe this may be his last chance to really impact the national team.

4- RCB, Alec Raț - Atlantea Hurricanes (Taeshan) 74 Caps, 2 Goals, 25 Years Old
The other center back is a long term teammate of Sebastians and the two have long had a really good relationship. The younger back has long been heralded as one of the stars of defensive future.

7- RB, Mathew Cannibus - Mierton Manatees (Taeshan) 40 Caps 1 Goal, 24 Years Old
The other fullback is also very adept at moving forward in the attack and moving backwards to help out his center backs.

12 - DF, Virgil Cobacaru - Real Atlantea (Taeshan) 2 Caps, 19 Years Old
The young defender is a very strong looking center back who many believe is the future of the Antoletian defense.

17 - DF, Percival Devine - Atlantea Hurricanes (Taeshan) 2 Caps, 18 Years Old
The other really young defender is also a hopeful to become a strong defender in the future.

21 - DF, Sheyenne Augustini - Real Chinchinhua (Taeshan) 22 Caps, 22 Years Old
The more likely player to have an immediate impact on the teams defense is strong defender Sheyenne Augustini who is really likely to be a starter sooner rather than later.

MIDFIELDERS

5 - LM, Gheorghe von Leeweonheouck - Ituributa United (Ituributa) 75 Caps, 25 Goals, 23 Years Old
The star midfielder of the Fire Ants is Gheorghe von Leeweonheouck. Plying his trade for one of the former great international club squads in Ituributa, with a flair for offense and a knack for scoring he is possibly the best hope for a great future for the Ants.

6 - CDM, Răzvan Vãduva - Celtic Rangers F.C. (Taeshan) 99 Caps, 4 Goals, 32 Years Old
The long time star of the Ants midfield, many didnt believe he was going to return to the national team, but with a dream of eclipsing at least 100 Caps, and currently sitting at 99 he is at least around for another full run at the cup.

9- RM, Stefan Sala - Brady City Crunch (Darmen) 106 Caps, 1 Goal, 32 Years Old
The other main star is longtime right midfielder Stefan Sala who has long been on the team, as to why hes back no one really knows.

13 - CM, Gabriel Mohammed - Blacklake Blues (Taeshan) 52 Caps, 10 Goals, 25 Years Old
Another player with a potent skill set and a lots of abilities to attack and almost as much of an ability to score and create as to use his skill to take down opponents.

14 - CAM, Filip Constantinescu - Tintown Terrapins (Taeshan) 108 Caps, 66 Goals, 29 Years Old
The real leader of the team, and the real leader of the midfield is star Filip Constantinescu. Really a striker playing a midfield position he has all the skills of a target man and added to the abilities of the striker works well to create goals for himself mostly.

8 - MF, Remus Robideau - Unattached 1 Cap, 17 Years Old
This young midfielder has a bright future.

16 - MF, Constantine Robideau - Unattached 1 Cap, 17 Years Old
Ditto.

18 - MF, Cristian Kafka - Blacklake Blues (Taeshan) 19 Caps, 1 Goal, 24 Years Old
A very speedy winger of the bench, known for his skill and prowess with headed shots.

20 - MF, Raphael - Moresville FC (Taeshan) 15 Caps, 4 Goals, 20 Years Old
The real spark plug of the bench in the midfield though is Raphael who is known to come in late to create ruckus and help the team capitalize on their offensive skills.

22 - MF, Hannibal - South Factory (Astograth) 15 Caps, 2 Goals, 22 Years Old
Another very useable player off the bench is another player really abroad in tricky midfielder Hannibal.

STRIKERS

11 - CF, Hiarchratez - SK Nethers (Taeshan) 60 Caps, 15 Goals, 26 Years Old
The target man helps the smaller player get goals and thats how Hiarchratez and Constantinescu work together. The target man gets the ball and finds the speedy striker for goals, and thats how the Ants attack tends to work.

10 - ST, Anton Gregovich - New Capetown Falcons (Taeshan) 11 Caps, 3 Goals, 22 Years Old
The tall lanky striker Anton is a star in the making and off the bench does quite well. If the Ants ever switch to a two stirker attack he would be one of the favorites to be that second striker.

15 - ST, Clyde Dickens - Real Chinchinhua (Taeshan) 3 Caps, 1 Goal, 18 Years Old
Another good future star in young striker Clyde Dickens, who is more known for a Hiarchratez like small forward deal.

19 - ST, Preya Pavelski - Laketown Rangers (Taeshan) 12 Caps, 3 Goals, 25 Years Old
Another good striker is Preya Pavelski but beyond that he really gets pushed out of favor, even though he is the oldest none starter.

Formation
--Dumistrescu--
--Cannibus--Raț--Sebastian--Ricard--
--Vãduva--
--Sala--Mohammed--von Leeweonheouck--
--Constantinescu--
--Hiarchratez--

Les Royales at World Cup 65, Hosted in Saugeais and Pasarga

So, Sicoutimont's national football team return to the World Cup, their 5th attempt at the tournament. A few new faces, some regulars, and other stuff make up the team this time around. Look below to see who made the cut!

Goalkeepers
Pier-Luc Dion-GK-FC Ararat Severyan (Mytannion)
Artyom Bergeron-GK-Ferdullaele FC (Farfadillis)

Defense
Yves Savard-DF-CDSA Descra (Mytannion)
Neal Kent-DF-Earthquake Champlain (Sicoutimont)
Loic Leduc-DF-Matthew City Rangers (Northern Sunrise Islands)
Fernard Girard-DF-Blue Mountain Range (Astograth)

Midfield
Oscar de Orebale-MF-Persepolis (Free Swiss States)
Antoine Urbaille-MF-Lac-Drouin City (Sicoutimont)
Hans Richelieu-MF-Lac-Drouin St-Pierre (Sicoutimont)
Alex Gannot-ST/MF-Athletik Thessia (Mytannion)

Strikers

Louis Desjardins-MF-Sporting Lac-Bouchard (Sicoutimont)
Jean de Terre-MF-Zhevassi (The Pazhujeb Islands)
Ipe Istoval Rodriguez-ST-Lac-Drouin City (Sicoutimont)

Sicoutimont's Royales enter WC65 with a few changes to a familiar roster. The keepers, Dion and Bergeron, go it alone after Herbert Georges' retirement last season. Dion is still the starter, but you might see Bergeron get into a few more key games after his performance in the training camp. On defense, Yves Savard, an expert on many different Mytanar destinations, has been around in that league, but he'll always be the solid veteran presence on the back end for the national team until he retires. Neal Kent, Loic Leduc and Fernard Girard look to improve themselves even more this qualifying tournament, they'll be the other guys on the back end. The first three midfield listed (Orbale, Urbaille, Richelieu) will likely be the stalwarts on the core. And then there's Alex Gannot. Mytanar Player of the Year, Marc Denis may finally have realized that he is one of the best offensive talents on the team. Listed as a mid and a striker, it's expected him and Girard Giroux, who formerly played the mid position, might switch in certain games, or he'll play as an extra striker. Lucas Dandenault returns from his ACL tear to join the squad again, he'll probably be the striker that sits on the sideline, subbed into the game with Stan Sarault later on. Giroux, Savard and Allonts are the big three on the team, and are expected to continue to lead the team. In reserves, 3 are the same as last time, with two 17 year olds added to the roster, in de Terre and Ipe Istoval Rodriguez. Overall, this team will continue to be a high-flying, smooth, offensive team. Now, on to the stadia:

Sicoutimont's home stadiums will be the same as last time around. Here's a description of each:
Stade St-Pierre, Lac-Drouin
Seating 50,000, Stade St-Pierre is home to Lac-Drouin St-Pierre, the greatest Sicoutian football club team. It also hosted most of the team's qualifing games at World Cup 62. 63 and 64, and almost all home friendlies by the team are played here. Lac-Drouin is the capital of Sicoutimont, and balances a modern, new look with a medieval thrill to the older areas. It is home to 115 million people, and the city takes up almost 100km of space squared. Most people live in the subburbs of either Ile Perrot or Rapides-Drouin, which are off the island Lac-Drouin is situated on. The stadium is located just 4 blocks from the waterfront, on 7 Rue de Parliamentre, the most famous road in all Sicoutimont.

SportCity, Pierre Beach
The Monster, SportCity, seats 116,000 people for football matches. It is home to FC Pierre Beach and FC Cote, once a UICA qualifier. Outside, SportCity looks just like any large stadium. You have to go inside to get the real feel for SportCity. Underneath the stadium is literally Sport City. As Pierre Beach is a smaller, modern town, holding 31 million people, the businesses are relatively clamped together in this area. Pierre Beach is right along the coast, allowing for burning hot summer days, but also a tropical, rainy climate due to hurricanes. Condos, restaraunts, shops, all this can be found underneath SportCity. Tunnels take you around the city, and Gare-Centrale, the train station, is here, connecting you to Lac-Drouin in 4 hours. Your team will be staying in the Hotel du Waterfront-SportCity. It is an aboveground hotel, right on the waterfront. It connects to SportCity's underground via the hotel restaraunt, Chez-Pierre. WC65 qualifing will be played during the late summer in Sicoutimont, which means tropical storms are common. Be Prepared.

A schedule will be released soon, and friendly season is coming up! So, watch your Royales take to the field against the nations of the world!

Notes

The Federation of Free Republics (FFR) is a federation of Republics with a weak national government (the "Federation Government") that has numerous checks and balances. The Republics, each of which has its own government, are relatively independent, although they are subject to the Federation Constitution and its numerous restrictions on what government can do. Most important among them is the cap on taxation, which makes it unconstitutional for government (meaning all governments in the FFR) to take more than 10% combined of anybody's income in taxes, effectively limiting the government. They are the nearest neighbor to Saintland, although that tiny island nation is over a thousand miles to the north of the northern-most Republic's northern border, and most Republicans actually tend to consider progressives worse than religious fanatics, even if both ideologies are considered extreme and contrary to Republicanism. This is the same team the FFR sent to the Di Bradini Cup. The players on this team would not be considered the best players in the FFR or even the best U-21 players in the FFR. Republican athletes tend to have massive egos and they aren't interested in playing for their country. This team was the idea of Rule Theriault, a failed former manager who had led a team that was expected to contend for the league title to relegation. Theriault failed as manager at Petrograd United because the veteran players on that team, with their giant egos, did not respect their manager or his approach to the game. Theriault clashed with players because he emphasizes a team-first style of play and an intense practice schedule. To rebuild his reputation, he decided to work with younger players that would take instruction and was able to get a number of talented young players, even if most of the country's top prospects turned him down. This team made it to the finals of the Di Bradini Cup, before falling short against the Equestrian States. Despite requests from a number of professional players to be chosen for the national side, Theriault chose not to make any changes to his squad for the Baptism of Fire to avoid any risk of weakening team chemistry. Despite finishing 17th at the BoF, Theriault has once again chosen not to make any changes to his side for World Cup qualification. There are not large differences in ability between the individual players on this team. Backups can see playing time and Theriault will probably bench his starters if he feels the game is meaningless. Bolton is the team's best player, but he isn't much better than the other strikers.

Beaverriver National Soccer Team

Beaverriver returns to it's third World Cup qualification after a major disappointment by the National Team the last round. Nate Villo has been fired from the National Team Manager position. Taking up the spot is Zach Heckson, the manager of Timbers 75 who he has brought up to the Premier League from the third division and earn them a spot in the Globe Cup in three seasons. He is known adapting his tactics to fit the team. He is going to bring a possession oriented attacking soccer with a lot of pressure on the opponent. The attacking core is the same as the previous Qualification but some of the defense is going to look new.

Stadiums:
Stadium of Roses (Capacity:44,000)
Stadium of Roses is a magnificent stadium made by the City of Rose to host national team matches and matches for clubs Rose City and Timbers 75. The entire stadium feels like it is made out of wood but it is made up of reinforced steel to make sure it can stand up to a 9.0 earthquake. Surrounding the Stadium is a massive rose garden that is the largest in the country. The city of Rose is a city with a population of 350,000 and is considered the soccer capital of Beaverriver. During the summer it gets warm and humid.

Lake Stadium (Capacity: 110,000)
This is home to the national team and Lake Corvan FC although Carpe Diem is negotiating with the Beaverriver Soccer federation to use the stadium for it's home matches. The stadium sits on a pier off the shore of Lake Corvan. From a bird's eye view, the stadium is shaped like Lake Corvan itself. The stadium is the first building in sight when you travel on a ferry from Bunnifon. Corvan is the capital of Beaverriver and has a modern feel to it. The capital building is the tallest structure in Corvan and your able to see the marble building from every part of the city. The city itself is home to more then 5,000,000 people.

Former Oasirican Republic of Ossidiacqua

Roster for World Cup 65

HOME - AWAY
ImageImage

ESSENTIAL BACKGROUND:
Ossidiacqua is a nation blinking in the light of the international community. Years ago, as Oasirica, they sent a team to the Baptism of Fire. Meanwhile, at home, with a terrible disease named la Plaga ravaging the country, the academics of the nation prepared to put up a time wall around the Central Hospital that would allow medics and scientists on the inside to spend months developing a cure or vaccine for la Plaga, whilst only days passed outside the time wall, allowing the maximum population to be saved. It went wrong however, and the time wall surrounded the entire nation, cutting off the Baptism of Fire squad. Months and the Baptism of Fire passed outside the wall, whilst centuries passed inside it. La Plaga decimated the native population, leaving Djocorangan refugees in the nation untouched and ensuring they became the primary caregivers and nation re-builders. This also means that today, 99.9% of all Acquans are black in skin tone.

The time wall eventually dissipated after 270 years, labelled 'The Pause Time' by those inside the wall, revealing the new nation of Ossidiacqua and its jet black rivers to the world for the first time. It was a much changed place, the weather, land, and cities had all changed, and the genetic heritage of the population had shifted from 99% Oasirican and 1% Other, to 97% Djocorangan and 3% Old Oasirican, and the paragraphs below the roster go some way to explaining some of what has happened as a consequence. In particular, note the Acquan's natural distrust of technology and technical incompetence. The most advanced piece of commonly found tech in the country is in fact the steam engine. You are also encouraged to read the series of RPs written during Oasirica's BoF, as they will provide a lot of back story that informs this complicated nation:

ROSTER AND TACTICS:
So, here is the squad, nicknamed la Renaissance, as put together by manager Yoann Vega after the death of former manager Alessio Cardinale. Vega is assisted by Cardinale's old assistant, Gregorio Di Falco. It is a squad almost unchanged from the last squad, who got further than any Acquan squad ever has before - almost making the qualification playoffs, and finishing as runners-up in the Cup of Harmony. Vega is currently under house arrest by the Magisterium, though is believe by the populous and the players to be on the run. As you can imagine, this complicates things somewhat.

The Acquan game had been cut off from the rest of the multiverse for a long time, and as such has developed a unique flavour and style of its own. Short passes, keeping possession, and running are the key to the majority of play, with Acquan teams keen to instil a sense of duty in their players that leads to any of them being able to play or deputise in any other position during the course of a match. The players are very capable with the ball, and have developed tricks and flicks enough to bamboozle any opponent, way ahead of their time as far as the rest of the multiverse is looking at it. However, they have much to learn about the way the rest of the footballing community plays their game, and with the Acquan game developing a far higher tolerance for rough and tumble, even the silkiest of attacking forwards (and in this squad there are four outstanding interchangeable strikers) can find themselves sent off for an illegal tackle that would have been perfectly legal in the Acquan leagues. Therefore, it would be of great help to me if you could RP my team as technically gifted, but tactically naive, and as far as international standards go, incredibly violent. Thank you.

Home Stadium: An archaic stone construction in the centre of Sant'Elia, Il Colosseo. Lit by oil lamps and featuring vast walls of stained glass, it seats 103,450 and is a treasured landmark, being one of the first building built by Acquans following the eradication of la Plaga, as the nation began to reinvent itself during the Pause Time.

Supporters: True to form for a nation whose people are generally scared witless of technology, the Acquans traditionally don't travel in huge numbers. However, that is all to change, and nations preparing themselves to face La Renaissance on the football pitch must now also prepare themselves for the arrival of a fleet of poorly maintained airships that contain scores of rabid Acquan supporters. Airships not being the fastest method of transport however, they may sometimes arrive a bit late. We're talking weeks...

Assassins: After he resigned as the Magisterium's mole in the footballing administration to focus on just coaching, then-assistant Yoann Vega was trailed by a score of assassins during WC62 Qualifying on the orders of His Excellency Grand High Cardinal Giocomo Re. Several botched attempts and many dead assassins later, the manager of the national team Alessio Cardinale was tragically killed by an errant crossbow bolt that was intended for Vega, causing a minor scandal in New Montreal States in the process. Now manager of the team, Yoann Vega continued to be a target of the Magisterium and Giocomo Re, and after a complex series of events, now finds himself under house arrest whilst the team believe him to have run away. It's complicated.

Velasquez: There must always be a Velasquez captaining the national side. It's best not to ask why, its just a thing that has to happen. Having fathered a son aged eighteen, current captain Ricardo Velasquez will be making his final appearances for La Renaissance this cycle before handing over the reins to his son Emmanuel, currently twenty.

FURTHER BACKGROUND:
The land of Oasirica was a large and beautiful one. After suffering the ravages of an unpredictable climate and loss of knowledge during the Pause Time, it has been transformed by the Djocorangan survivors of la Plaga into the Former Oasirican Republic of Ossidiacqua. Consisting of one main island and a handful of surrounding smaller ones, it can be found towards the north-west of the Vatmark region of Rushmore. The capital city of Sant'Elia is by far the biggest conurbation, and it whilst it used to shine with its golden spires and silver domes, it is now a shambolic and chaotic mix of alleyways and squares and piazzas, though the Acquans are making every effort to restore the city to its former glory, even getting the steam powered monorail back up and running, and employing a dirigible courier service.

Clean running water used to flow across the land and around the cities in an extensive network of aqueducts, channels, and canals. The continued eruption of volcanoes in the large Patriarchate of Vul in the east of the country during the Pause Time has affected this however, located over extensive mineral deposits as they were. These deposits included a huge amount of obsidian, obsidian that was distributed through the land in huge quantities, tainting the water, and giving the nation its new name. The water the flows is now nearly jet black in colour, and requires extensive treatment before it can be used as drinking water, leading the Acquans to rely on condensers that extract moisture from the dry air and from boiled off water vats often situated near rivers. These condensers often break, and are fixed by tech-priests who use mainly copycat work and guesses accompanied by some rather frenzied prayer rather than any informed ability to fix and maintain the machines, the knowledge for which died with the rapid spread of la Plaga. The weather is taking longer to recover from the time wall than expected, and the land whilst not particularly hot, is still exceptionally dry. The Oasiricans were a highly educated and cultured race, and the fall and loss of knowledge is embarrassing to the Acquans.

The patriarchate governmental system has moved from the old religion to one offering praise to a mechanical deity of no one name, with tech-priests and those in the Magisterium holding a high amount of respect. Since the dubious death of the former president, it is the maniacal Grand High Cardinal Giocomo Re who is in charge of the country, supposedly on an interim basis.

Football in Ossidiacqua is the national sport, and support is fanatical. The Campiocinato continued during the Pause Time as a way to keep spirits up and has been running for 314 seasons as the football league structure in the country, with three divisions, A-Liga, B-Liga, and C-Liga. The league has dominated by the three big Sant'Elia clubs; CA Conquistadores (69 Campiocinatos), Condensadores CD (63), Caballeros CF (61), as well as by Qolo-Qolo (48). Internazionale (23), Atletico Sant'Elia (17), Unión Gimignano CF (17), AS Débardeurs Nationale (11), Magisterio AC (9), Académica di Terrabianco (4), RCD San Marco (1), Clube Cobreloa (1), and FC Sommieres Hibernia (1) are the other clubs to have sealed a title so far. Most big clubs are represented in the selection of players here, with Ricardo Velasquez, captain and descendant of the legendary captain Stefano Velasquez, looking to unite the usually very partisan fans of the Sant'Elia clubs so that they may get behind and support the team.

Audioslavia is an ancient nation, recently having celebrated the 10th OOC anniversary of its inception. The nation originally CTE'd in 2006, was revived briefly in 2007 and 2009, and enjoyed a proper resurgence at the start of 2012, locating itself in Atlantian Oceania indefinitely after IC centuries of rivalries with various nations in the region.

The Audioslavia national side participated in World Cups 4 to 29, made an abortive comeback in World Cup 37, and rejoined the world of international football properly back in World Cup 59. The ancient Audioslavia side qualified for all but one of the World Cups it entered (a young Audioslavia failed during the WC5 qualifying playoffs) and generally maintained a place in top twenty of the world rankings, peaking at #1 during the qualifying phases of World Cups 20 and 21.

Paradoxically, the national team has seen more success in its modern form - a period where quick success is much more difficult to achieve than in the early days. Whereas those early years yielded only the inaugural U21 World Cup and a string of losing finals in the World Cup proper, the modern team won the Baptism of Fire tournament before WC59 and triumphed in the thirty-fifth, thirty-eighth and thirty-ninth installments of the AOCAF Cup. The side have also reached the final of the AOCAF cup on two other occasions, and have reached as far as the semi-finals of the Cup of Harmony.

Modern Audioslavia finally won the World Cup itself in cycle 63, a victory that required a huge amount of luck and some very po-faced, negative football. Audioslavia managed to win the tournament despite going into the qualifiers with a ranking of #53 in the world. Four years later, in World Cup 64, the national side proved that this win, as fortunate as it was, was no flash in the pan when they again took home the World Cup trophy, completing the first ever 'double-double' of winning back-to-back AOCAF and World Cup championships.

Ten Things Audioslavia's football team are famous for:
1: The claret and green striped kits, complete with white pinstripe. They have been like this, with the odd exception, since World Cup 4.
2: Jeremy Jaffacake. The indescribable Jaffacake has been a satellite of the national team - both as sports journalist and member of the FFA - since World Cup 6. It is unwise to cross Jeremy Jaffacake. In fact, it's often unwise to even look at him. Jaffacake is arguably the most infamous character in the entirety of sports RPing. He's certainly the oldest.
3:Choking in major finals. Audioslavia were the record holders for losing the most amount of World Cup finals without a victory, having failed in WCs 12, 19, 20 and 29. When you include modern Audioslavia's travails at the final stage of major tournaments, however, our record now stands at a much more respectable 6-6.
4: Being almost unbeatable in semi-finals. Audioslavia's senior side have a scarily good record in the last four of any competition, and have lost only one semi-final match in thirteen attempts.
5: Off pitch entertainment: A fervent, yet well-behaved support. Audioslavia's fans are generally friendly, enjoy mixing with the locals and are partial to the odd litre of whisky. Not to mention the tabloid antics of one Jeremy Jaffacake.
6: On-pitch anti-entertainment. The Audioslavian national team have always played effective, if uninspiring football. The side are usually solid, with a cautious approach play and a willingness to hold on to possession rather than attempt anything too rash.
7: Building rivalries: Audioslavia count, and have counted, a lot of nations as their 'rivals'. They are, in order of healthiest to most hated: Lemmitania, Karditan, Legalese, New Montreal States, Halfassedstates, Iansisle, Vilita/Turori, Bedistan, Starblaydia, Squornshelous, Rejistania, Total n Utter Insanity, Krytenia U19s, Krytenia U21s, Krytenia 'C'. Krytenia 'B', Them.
8: Audioslavia have had, throughout their history, a disproportionate amount of wingers with names beginning with 'J'.
9: Audioslavia are the first and only team to have been eliminated from the group stage of a World Cup on penalties.
10: Audioslavia is home to Kirola Sportswear, the manufacturers of some of the more... avant garde football strip designs seen around the World Cup.

Audioslavian footballers tend to be a little on the small side compared to modern NS athletes. The average height for a goalkeeper is about 6'0, but centre-halves tend to top out at 5'11 and other outfielders rarely venture higher than 5'9 (although the 'target-man' style strikers tend to be taller, such as the 6'2 Karsten Eiger). All of Audioslavia's players, throughout history, have been human and male. Our players tend to be fairly quick with a lot of stamina and physical fitness, and are proficient at short passing. In general, however, our technique is fairly poor, our forward play is particularly uncreative and our small-ish team tends to struggle against physical teams. Our goals usually come near the end of games as our high stamina wins through. The national side frequently employ players of Audioslavian citizenship/parentage but who are naturalised elsewhere. Current goalkeeper Kajaxo Imaslavii and striker Vucidini Zekani were born in Vilita and play their football over there, and a significant chunk of the squad are taken from Starblaydi high-flyers Cedrus Soundgardia, a team based on Starblaydia's Cedrus Isle, a place with a high percentage of Audioslavian diaspora. Recently, the national side has used players born as far afield as Cafundeu, Taeshan, Turori and Krytenia.

As for the current crop, striker Karsten Eiger is, at 6'2, easily the biggest member of the squad and is used as a target man for the team's five midfielders. Zonnestraal and Mannestraal Jansen are twins, both wingers, both very very fast and with the ability to play with either foot. Elsewhere in midfield, James Courier is the twenty-four year old sensation who's harrying midfield play helped Audioslavia to the last two World Cups, while new-boy Garrastazu is a product of Falconwhereveryouare's involvement in professionalising the formerly amateur Audioslavian team Moreazerua and moving them to their league. In defence, John Ryan is turning into a world-classs centre-half, but the rest of the back four are nothing special. Goalkeeper Imaslavii is a rising star in the Vilitan leagues, currently first choice keeper at the famous Jungle Strike F.C.

Roleplaying permissions: We frown on god-modding if there isn't a sense of humour behind it. Everything else is fine. If you'd like to injure a few players or dish out red cards for a particularly harsh game, go right ahead, go hog wild. Want to injure the entire team in a bus-crash? Fine, but make it good, or suffer the humiliation of having your limbs scattered hither and thither via a blast from my mighty ignore-cannon.
