World Cup 65 Roster Thread

Welcome one and all to the 65th NS World Cup!

Nations that have signed up for the 65th World Cup should post their rosters here. Rosters should list your starting 11 and your reserves, as well as your national manager/head coach and any assistants they might have. Personal and background information about your players and coaches goes here.

This is also where you should post the locations of your home matches.

You should include a formation, which is how your 11 starters will line up on the field. You should also include a style modifier for your nation. Style modifiers range from -5 to +5. If you like offensive football, choose a positive modifier; you will both score and concede more goals with a positive modifier. Negative modifiers are defensive; you will concede fewer goals, but you'll have trouble scoring goals of your own as well.

If you'd like to let your opponents know what they can and cannot RP about your team if they post before you, include an RP permission box with your roster:

My opponent, if they RP first, may do the following:

Choose my goalscorers Y/N
Godmod scoring events Y/N
RP injuries to my players Y/N
Godmod injuries to my players Y/N
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y/N
Hand out red cards to my players Y/N
Godmod other events Y/N

Posting a roster will earn you a small RP bonus and the gratitude of your group-mates, since writing RPs about teams whose players don't have names gets old in a hurry.

Any questions or OOC comments should be posted in the OOC discussion thread (linked below.) We will post the RP thread within 24 hours; please do not make any IC or OOC posts aside from your roster in this thread. Any non-roster posts made in this thread will be considered spam.

Notes

Saintland has a very rough style of play and very few fouls in our national league, so don't hesitate to card Sanctii players, especially if Saintland loses. In the Sanctii version of the 5-3-1-1 formation, the outside backs also function as outside midfielders. Prince Andreas is the twin brother of Prince Josephus, the goalie and captain for the Saintland ice & field hockey team, which is currently competing in the World Championship in Field Hockey, and younger brother of Prince Petrus, quarterback and captain for Saintland's gridiron team, which is currently competing in the World Bowl. He is the team captain and also functions as the team's playmaker. Ioannes and Nicolaus Poenius are brothers, as are Silvester, Paulus and Josephus Flaccus and Petrus and Marcus Jucundius. Andreas Inventius is the brother of Pius Inventius, Saintland's flagbearer at the VIII Winter Olympics. Inventius is a defensive-minded midfielder. Georgius Catiotus is married to Martha Catiotus (maiden name: Pudentilla), the gold medal winning figure skater from Saintland. Vagionius is not an especially fast player, but he is very tall and he is an exceptional finisher. When he is one-on-one against the keeper, Vagionius will score a goal 9 times out of 10. The Poenius brothers both have world-class speed. When Saintland attacks, typically Prince Andreas has possession of the ball and Vagionius, the center midfielders and the outside backs all try to get open inside the box, but 1 or 2 of them will usually be left back to defend (never Vagionius), except when the situation calls for an aggressive attack. Prince Andreas takes free kicks, corners and throw-ins. Vagionius will handle penalties. When I have started RPing a match report, I will update my factbook to reflect what happened in the match.

Postby German American States » Wed Jun 12, 2013 7:07 pm

Press release from the GAFF(German American Football Federation):
Image

Today, we have decided to enter the German American States into WC 65. This will be our first year of recognizing it, due to the strike last year that all of you remember. However, this year will be different. We have assembled the finest footballers that this country has to offer. They are:
GAS WC Roster
4-4-2
LS: Erik Rogalski(SC Gold Loewe)
RS: Hans Wippenbeck(Alle-GAS)
LM: Dante Ruiz(FK Keltischdorf)
LCM: Gunnar Baumgartner(C)(Nordbergen)
RCM: Daniel Bauer(Alle-GAS)
RM: Lukas Krohn(FC Kaltstadt Blizzard)
LFB: Shaka Okboah(Athletic Weisenfield)
LCFB: Karl Strauber(SC Gold Loewe)
RCFB: Johann Fischer(Alle-GAS)
RFB: Klaus Weinberger(Flussorstaft Piraten)
GK: Joshua Klopp(Swillburg United)
Subs:
LS: Steffen Wininger(Sporting Eisenport FC)
RCM: Xaverius Breeding(Gruenwalder Holzfaeller)
LM: Markus Holz(Alle-GAS)
RCFB: Gregor Schnieder(Seudlander)
GK: Manuel Schmidt(SC Gold Loewe)
Manager: Karl Rheinhart(FK Keltischdorf)
Assistant: Franz Bucholz(Swillburg United)
Assistant: Daniel Mueller(Flussorstaft Piraten)

We are confident that these men will bring our country glory and honor on the world stage. While we might not bring home the gold this year, we know that this team will establish a strong foundation for international football in this country.

A report on the team written by the Fuss- Zeitung Millwaukeesburg:
This year’s national team is proud to be the first to compete in the World Cup stage. They have been selected from the best clubs in the GAPL(German American Premier League), and have trained together in the GAFF(German American Football Federation) training complex in Millwaukeesburg for 3 months. They have played several friendlies against several GAPL practice squads, but have not faced live competition. The team does definitely have chemistry between the players, strikers Erik Rogalski and Hans Wippenbeck especially. The two strikers are a formidable force in the attack, even though their clubs back in the States are rivals. The team also features midfielder and captain Gunnar Baumgartner of Nordbergen in the GAPL. He is considered the best midfielder in the States, scoring the most goals for a midfielder for 4 seasons straight. His leadership is also highly valued. He can pull a team together and give them a fighting chance in a game that they might lose. He is often accredited for making Nordbergen a contender in the GAPL.
Overall, the team, and the rabid football fans of the G.A.S., are ready for a heated competition.

Style: +2.5
The States play with a new style of football that features long passes from the backfield defense up to the attack and midfield, and then a mad rush to the goal. They also like to use the full width of the pitch, and have quick transitions. As far as defense, they play a stifling flat formation, and also press the attack of the opposition.

KPB: 1.44
The States are ranked #226 in the world for KPB, having played in the BoF and WC 64.

The Tyrrinian National Football Team

With football being very unpopular on the mainland right now, the nation’s Esportivan colonies have decided to wrangle together a national team to send to the World Cup. These guys are hardy, tough, and not willing to take a loss lightly. They are hardliners, a throwback to the values of the old Tyrrinian Empire. Try not to offend them, and especially do not make references to sexual acts with horses! Being a new squad, they are very undisciplined. In fact, no managers were found who would be willing to take on the team, so they will be entering the tournament in a somewhat leaderless state.

Their home stadium is Rassfel Acres in Parkus, New Tyrrin. It is a converted polo field, and the grass is very nice, but the stadium is a bit lacking. Away teams will be able to stay at the nearby Rassfel Manor, which will be very comfortable. The town of Parkus is home to the famous Aidan's Own Tavern, commonly referred to as Aidan's Own.

FORMATION: 4-2-3-1

STYLE MOD: +2

STARTERS:
GK – Grinnar Lakehard
Lakehard likes to shout a lot, which is definitely useful as the keeper. He is a lumberjack by trade. We aren't sure if this actually helps him as a keeper or not, this remains to be seen.

RB – Lasse Attwater
Attwater has the distinction of having the most tattoos of anyone on the squad, which is very impressive. Most noticeable is the massive horse with flaming eyes that is displayed on his back. He will show it to the world every chance he gets, but he is not very good, so he doesn't get many chances.

CB – Teagan Trask
Trask likes to think he knows all the secrets to defending. He will often let his younger teammates know if they are doing something wrong. His formidable beard is tough to argue with, even though he usually has no idea what he is talking about.

CB – Valter Hrodland (Captain)
As captain, Hrodland is sort of a player-coach in this system. He is one of the more level-headed members of the team, and is certainly vocal. He will be the first to defend the "Honor of the Empire" if any offense is taken, which naturally makes him the best candidate for leadership. He is also a solid defender, and will mark the other team's best striker.

LB – Elwood Mayes
Mayes is possibly the worst player on the team. This is mostly judged on beard-length, as he is the only member of the squad that can't grow one. How he got into the starting lineup, we will never know.

CM – Einar Sigimund
Sigimund has a great mind for the game, and is the type that can see plays develop very quickly. He is one of the more laid-back members of the team, and could eventually coach at a higher level.

CM – Oliver Linford
Linford my be the bloodthirstiest of the squad. Hard fouls are the name of his game, and if you dive, the penalty he dishes out will be much worse than a card from the ref. He is famous for requesting to use a "flying-v" formation, in which Roy dribbles with the ball and the rest of the team charges in front in a path of destruction, hopefully scoring before the entire team is ejected.

RM – Tyr Dean
Dean is the fastest on the team, and also a good ball handler. He also has long, flowing blond hair. He is a big hit with the ladies, who often tattoo his likeness onto various parts of their bodies.

CAM – Bjorn Roy
Roy usually leads the team in goals, though everyone is mystified as to how he accomplishes this. He is a mediocre at ball control, but he does have a decent shot. He gets into channels very well for balls from Sigimund.

LM – Werner Brent
Brent is the polar opposite of Dean on the opposite side. His major is set pieces, with a minor in oafish looks. He will quickly support Linford in any roughhousing shenanigans.

ST – Jaron Kennard
Kennard is a pure poacher, who delights in being in the right place at the right time. He scores a fair amount, but he often whines if he doesn't get the ball enough, and he is unable to create his own chances. Most of the squad despises him, but due to his offensive spatial awareness, he is a key member of the team.

SUBSTITUTES
GK – Wilhelm Wragge
D – Tristin Ewald
D – Emmerson Randrup
MD – Vigi Willahalm
MD – Tom Aitkin
ST – Hugo Scrivens

NEU ENGOLLON NATIONAL FOOTBALL SQUAD
'MOUNTAIN GOATS'

The Neu Engollon National Football team, The Goats, come to their first World Cup after an uneven performance at the Baptism of Fire.

#2 Oskar Flegzut more than anyone bears a huge cross as he ultimately, and possibly unfairly, takes blame for the many goals that slipped by into his net during the BOF. The 21 year old goalkeeper from Schwartzgarten hopes to garner some redemption, but he might not get a chance if Coach Remy Henau bans him to the bench in favor of backup goalie #4 Ignacio Anselmetti, as he's threatened to do and followed through on the last couple Baptism of Fire matches for the Goats. Anselmetti, actually a more seasoned player than Flegzut, hails from Torino. Given his experience, it was expected that he would be the starter goalkeeper this season, but he has been plagued with many injuries recently, preventing his ability to gel with the new National team, and keeping him completely out of the Torino FC regular season.

#8 Karsten Rottentuf leads the defense, hailing from the Wurzemburg club, the northeastern border town that saw so much fighting during the Kalarin Border War. On his flanks he has #5 Marco Fantinelli and #9 Otto Schlosser to hold off side attacks on the goal. The defenders also took some flak for a couple of the worse defeats during the BOF.

The midfielders are a solid, fluid unit with #22 Joachim Brenz, 26, and Captain of the team in the vanguard of the charge. #14 Gaston Labrecq, #16 Stephane Manion, and #18 Matteo Grazzani, all are in their early 20's and considered to be the anchor of the team, hoping to hone their turnover strategy. Manion in particular stands out, as he was recruited and heading to Earent, like the star striker Siebech, to take up a more lucrative contract with Paysban TU.

At the point of the attack are the forwards, #23 Arnaud Vuson and #26 Gerard Paseult having both been teammates during their headlining stint at Capital University, they formed a tight bond and are able to point a chin or give a slight nod; even just a look to communicate their intent. It is #31 Erich Siebech on whom many hopes rest. There is much fan disappointment as he has jumped ship from Schwartzgarten FC to go play for an Earent team, Stivarnel GU for next season. It was Siebech who was still scoring and leading the attack when the rest of the team was folding under the onslaught in the toughest of their matches. He was a fan favorite until this unforeseen turn angered many diehard footie fanatics.

NEW SIDEBURN
Preferred Formation:
4-4-2 diamond
Style Modifier: 0
Playstyle: Low on possession, but high on pressure, with fast play and short passing. Generally reliant on a stereotypical 'big guy/fast guy' strike partnership. Very physical, quite pacy.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: The Cormorants

New Sideburn’s national side have made their mark on the national scene and are feeling pretty bloody smug about it. Having shoved aside all competitors in their bloodthirsty conquest of the 51st Baptism of Fire, they proceeded to impress at the World Cup Qualifiers (with a respectable nine wins) before making it to the second round in the Cup of Harmony. They strut around like the coolest cats on the block, and they feel they’ve earned that right. Enigmatic bastard manager Gethin Ramsey has stuck to the same core of the squad as won him so much acclaim last time. New Sideburn’s training regimen follows a strict diet of beer and bar snacks, with the lads reluctant to partake in and indeed more than a little suspicious of ‘sports science’. New Sideburn is generally accompanied by its … rigorous support. They are loud and like to start fights, but are generally pretty matey when you get to know them.

Honours
Champions of the 51st Baptism of Fire.
Holders of the Campionato Esportiva and the Market Cup.

Gethin RAMSEY - 55
Manager

Ramsey terrified strikers all over the country as a merciless midfield enforcer playing for the Chenoworth Rovers, playing that role from 19 to 37, before going on to terrify his own team managing them. Four years of shouting death threats later, the Rovers had been hauled out of the First Division and into safety in the Premiership. A year later, he was managing the national side, traditionally seen as a thankless task beating up local Serenes neighbours and trying to upgrade perilously close 4-0 wins into merely underwhelming 9-0 ones. Eleven years in, and he’d spent enough time demanding reform that the NSFA finally relented, and joined the WCC to compete on the global level. Charismatic, determined and utterly ruthless, loved by fans and... viewed with a certain fondness by the players, Ramsey’s successes continued, and he has no intention of stopping here.

Escher SPEARE - 38
Assistant Manager

An intelligent tactician whose career was cut short by a debilitating injury at 25, Escher has devoted her time and energy to an uncanny understanding of the game. A supporter of attempts to bring sabremetrics into football, and with an uncanny ability to make overdetailed calculus understandable. She makes for a good foil for her temperamental guv'nor.
1 - Portia THRIFT - 35 - Riverside (Saugeais)
42 caps, 15 clean sheets

Some say Thrift is a specialist at saving penalties, but most tend to agree that Thrift is a specialist at saving everything. While not the tallest at 180 cm, making corners a relative weak point, she nonetheless combines agility, positioning and intellect. She has proven... somewhat inconsistent for the national team, her best run of form happening around the ‘minor blip’ of a 7-0 defeat, but she’s still proven herself to be the best around. Her form has won her a foreign contract at one of Saugeais' top sides, Riverside; she feels she has reached the peak of her options locally.

12 - James TURNSCREW - 32 - AFC Treason
2 caps, 2 clean sheets

A true defensive general who almost never concedes to a free kick, though his towering frame certainly helps that. James Turnscrew has won two titles for his club, and his only weakness appears to be his absurd moustacheless chinstrap beard.

20 - Paolo CREWE - 29 - Maximum City
Uncapped

Crewe seemed to have a lot to live up to, replacing the superb Rachel Barley at Maximum City, but he managed to succeed and arguably overshadow his former no. 1. A top goalkeeper who is happy to stay out of the spotlight and will perform exceptionally if thrust into it.
2 - Anna SHRIKE - 26 - Crisisbless
Right Wingback
48 caps, 2 goals

Anna Shrike is the redemption story of last cycle’s World Cup Qualifiers. A chunky, entirely one-footed, slightly absent-minded wingback, she is now one of the best players in the squad, galloping from end to end to threaten on the wings as well as coming back to defend. Her performances have stayed strong throughout 330, and this time around, nobody's questioning her inclusion.

3 - James YORKE - 22 - Sabrefell Moths
Centre-back
9 caps, 0 goals

Youthful, talented. Level-headed; rarely gives away a foul, rarer still is he carded. Always attentive, too, rarely makes unforced mistakes. And running, always running, a tireless bastion of industry. He's still young and still improving, but if you’ve already won two titles at this age you’re probably doing something right. Started many matches in the Market and Esportivan Cups, impressed in all his appearances, and his number appears to suggest he'll take the place of Strongnesse in the lineup.

4 - Cathy STOKES - 23 - AFC Treason
Left-back
22 caps, 1 goal

Cathy has blossomed lately; steadfast for country in late 330 and scoring the goal that won the Market Cup, while earlier this year she won the league with AFC Treason, proving a staunch defender and an increasingly skilled attacker. Most say she will no longer tolerate understudy work; she wants to be stamped into the team as a permanent fixture, and it's hard to argue against her.

5 - Rook HARM - 35 - Egloskerry (Apox)
Centre-back
43 caps, 1 goal

Every team needs someone capable of utterly pulverising the opposition’s most fancy, prone-to-diving, overpaid wanker, and willing to give him a good kicking when the ref’s looking the other way. Rook Harm is that man. A latecomer to the sport, Rook spent his late teenage years moonlighting as a bouncer as he went through the academy, and rather admirably married his experiences in both during his playing years. Oh, and don’t mistake his straightforward nature for stupidity. He’s an excellent defender with a remarkable instinct, and nobody knows better than him how to make a fair, or at least fair-looking challenge. Recently moved abroad to Egloskerry in Apox after an unsuccessful season for Crisisbless.

13 - Leila CORVETTE - 24 - Sabrefell Moths
Left Wingback
40 caps, 0 goals

Leila Corvette overcame dodgy lungs to play football, and while her stamina isn’t the best she’ll run like hell every match, the first to move up in attack and the first to dash back in defence. Her ball control can’t always quite keep up with her acceleration, but she can still pinpoint a corner exactly where the goalkeeper doesn’t want it to go. Has not necessarily finished more than about 70% of her starts.

17 - Jessica LOQUE - 27 - North Laithland
Right-back
Uncapped

Gethin Ramsey's apparent preference for female wingbacks prevails yet again, though Loque is no slouch when it comes to ability or credentials. She's been a stalwart with North Laithland through the good times and the bad, and is the kind of player you sometimes overlook but who is always keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.

22 - Olga NIHIL - 31 - Maximum City
Centre-back
7 caps, 0 goals

After a hilariously misspent 330 in which she moved to Vermillion Rage, was made captain, spoke out against the financial implosion happening behind the scenes, was never picked again and quietly moved back to Maximum in post-season, 331 has established that Olga intends to get back to winning ways, sooner rather than later. She's more than capable of taking up her position in central defence when needed.
6 - Lucia OAKWOOD (c) - 31 - Crisisbless
Defensive Midfielder
52 caps, 6 goals

Oakwood’s never been the fastest, nor the strongest. But if you want a holding midfielder who can shadow a man like nothing else, who can take back the ball and feed it into a counterattack as soon as you can blink, it’s her you want at your side. She is deadly accurate with a dead ball, though she more often aims for Gerhard’s head than for the goal. Oakwood has been capped in, and has in fact started, every one of New Sideburn's 52 WCC-approved international matches, scoring six times including the winning goal in the Campionato Esportiva. 330 has not been a good year for Lucia, as she struggled with injury for the first part of the season, but she promptly got back on track, helped Jess Mortlock get the team into a halfway acceptable final place and won the captaincy for the country.

8 - Grant BEARDSLEY - 33 - Parrhesia United
Right Winger
43 caps, 10 goals

The talisman of his team, Beardsley may as well have a stump for a right foot. Wouldn’t make much difference with how good he is cutting inside and striking in with the left. He scored perhaps the goal of the tournament to win the Baptism of Fire, before finally his connection with Anna Shrike began to click and the two became unstoppable down the wing. Beardsley went on to score the national side’s first hattrick. The winger is unstoppable on his day, though some are beginning to notice a slightly flagging pace.

10 - Dale BRIGHTLEY - 24 - Basin Plain (United Gordonopia)
Attacking Midfielder
27 caps, 9 goals

The breakout player as far as New Sideburn's exports are concerned - he is complete in attack and now has a certain box-to-box energy about him that he lacked in his early days. He's in the prime of his career now, and makes for a truly fearsome number 10, connecting attack to defence with incisive passing and venomous strikes. That said, he's among the weediest of the squad, and can sometimes get totalled by a particularly thuggish defender; it's probably for the good of his career that he's escaped the New Sideburn Premiership.

11 - Cheney ROSEWOOD - 28 - Sabrefell Moths
Left Winger
50 caps, 7 goals

Whether it’s cutting inside or crossing, inswinging or outswinging, Rosewood’s up to the task. Despite an obnoxious soul patch, Rosewood’s feet are almost magical, the ball seemingly glued to them when he runs, and he runs faster than most to start with. While he isn’t skilled at covering his tracks in defence, he is nonetheless the shining individual talent within the team.

16 - Darren PARRETT - 21 - Allouette Jonquiere (Sicoutamont)
Winger
Uncapped

Parrett is an entirely two-footed winger capable of playing either side. Very young, very fast, and very professional for his age with an incredible workrate - a player with a real thirst for victory. Recently sealed a contract with a top Sicoutamont club, one of the four big names to be signed out at post-season; and don't let the lack of caps fool you, he is very much a big name. Or at least one in the making... after all, Rosewood's 28 already.

18 - Tarquin HADDINGS - 25 - Brookford Otters
Defensive Midfielder
1 cap, 0 goals

Why Haddings, many ask, when the veteran Dacia Mountain is available? Tarquin Haddings managed to anchor the Brookford Otters to success all season, so no wonder his talent is noted by many. While definitely an understudy to Lucia Oakwood, he will not hesitate to pick up the ball should it be required. His talents lie more in his pace and physicality and ever-chasing nature, however, and though sometimes his overenthusiastic nature leads to easy free kicks, he’s shown himself to be worth it if he can rein in his enthusiasm.

19 - Catherine SEDGWICK - 23 - Cranequin Wanderers
Attacking Midfielder
Uncapped

The Wanderers are a decent side, but they really are a one-woman club; Sedgwick, for her part, has been the highest scoring midfielder in the Premiership two seasons running. She stays modest, however; after all, she says, "I'm just another cog in the machine." Colourful analogy aside, she's a stunning attacking midfielder and would even be able to step into centre-forward.

23 - Chase WINGETT - 23 - AFC Treason
Right Winger
12 caps, 0 goals

Wingett never really seemed... complete, before. A work in progress; promising, but without the finishing touches. But this championship-winning season with AFC Treason has changed everything. Now Wingett is at the top of the world, and looks all but set to take over at the right wing from Grant Beardsley. A different style of player, to be sure, defined by staggeringly accurate crosses and bursts of speed, but his ability is unquestionable.
7 - Gerhard THUNDER - 29 - Sabrefell Moths
Striker
50 caps, 26 goals

Tall and broad-shouldered, Gerhard seems like he fits the mould for just another plodding target man. Unfortunately for defenses, he is far more than that, able to control the ball remarkably well on the ground as well, shoots with real venom and he even fits the mould for a Sideburnese forward in that he’s able to dispossess the opposition fairly well. Pace is a weak point, but perhaps his only one.

9 - Barry KEARNEY - 29 - Royalwich (Saugeais)
Striker
10 caps, 6 goals

Strapping, boisterous, unsubtle Barry Kearney still plays like a 19-year old. Fast, strong and skilled, just don't expect him to follow through on any deep plans; he plays in the moment. Gets caught offside a lot, but his bashful, overenthusiastic nature makes him impossible to hate. His energy lends him a certain super-substitute quality, and the ability to breathe fresh life into a stalemate. Recently taken on by a recently promoted Saugeais squad.

14 - Leyland STALLION - 25 - Southfell United
Striker
4 caps, 1 goal

Never really a success for the national squad, yet it appears Ramsey is willing to give him another shot after a season in which Southfell once again overperformed to reach 6th. Unselfish, often seen as a supporting striker, but last season really showed that he's a potent target man himself when needed, and his blistering pace can only help that.

15 - Alicia SCABBARD - 27 - Crisisbless
Striker
43 caps, 21 goals

Short, lean and sickeningly talented, Scabbard runs like a cheetah and fires stunning shot after shot. While her technique is superb, her composure sometimes can be found wanting, and she’s certainly not the strongest striker in the world. That said, she’s fiercely tenacious, immensely skilled and sometimes proves simply untouchable in possession. She’s unselfish, too, and knows when someone else has the better chance at the goal. Seemingly demoted to substitute if the numbers are anything to go by, but don't underestimate her... she was a damn good partner for Gerhard Thunder, and nothing has changed except for a single bad season.

21 - Tara LOCKDOWN - 26 - AFC Treason
Striker
4 caps, 3 goals

A lanky striker with blue-dyed hair, Tara Lockdown now has a title to her name, heading the attack with Bruce Payne for Treason. Slow, but breathtakingly resilient forward, able to hold up possession in her hands while the rest of her team rushes upfield for seemingly forever in what fans have affectionately dubbed ‘Tara Time’. Great in the air and a decent shot, though more of a goal-poacher than anything.
1 - Portia Thrift (vc) (Riverside)
12 - James Turnscrew (AFC Treason)
20 - Paolo Crewe (Maximum City)

2 - Anna Shrike (Crisisbless)
3 - James Yorke (Sabrefell Moths)
4 - Cathy Stokes (AFC Treason)
5 - Rook Harm (Egloskerry)
13 - Leila Corvette (Sabrefell Moths)
17 - Jessica Loque (North Laithland)
22 - Olga Nihil (Maximum City)

6 - Lucia Oakwood (c) (Crisisbless)
8 - Grant Beardsley (Parrhesia United)
10 - Dale Brightley (Basin Plain)
11 - Cheney Rosewood (Sabrefell Moths)
16 - Darren Parrett (Allouette Jonquiere)
18 - Tarquin Haddings (Brookford Otters)
19 - Catherine Sedgwick (Cranequin Wanderers)
23 - Chase Wingett (AFC Treason)

7 - Gerhard Thunder (Sabrefell Moths)
9 - Barry Kearney (Royalwich)
14 - Leyland Stallion (Southfell United)
15 - Alicia Scabbard (Crisisbless)
21 - Tara Lockdown (AFC Treason)

Stadium
The Farham Arena is used in the capital of Sabrefell, with a partially standing capacity of 120,000. As no club plays there and it is only used for the national team and for the domestic cup finals/third-place matches, there will never be a reason to play at a different stadium.

The old ways were best!

Original nation behind Nephara. New Sideburn now symbolises an ideal, rather than a nation.

BRENECIA
Preferred Formation:
4-5-1/4-3-3
Style Modifier: -1
Playstyle: Very physical, reliant on pace. Favours extensive use of wing play, with a big striker at the end of it. Low on possession, scores many goals on the counterattack.
Kit Supplier: Kirola
Nickname: the Patriots

A former colony of New Sideburn, they won independence through a rather overzealous uprising (ending in victory within three months because New Sideburn’s military gave up and went home). They’ve been at peace ever since, though Brenecians tend to regard themselves as eternal archrivals of their mainland ‘opponents’. Despite a Baptism of Fire that ended in failure, the Patriots still have a promising future, and it wasn't a total loss; in five games, they held four clean sheets.

Blake LAWLESS - 40
Manager

A young manager for an even younger side. Blake Lawless may have grown up playing the wrong sport (baseball) but he adapted remarkably well to grow into a manager of football. He holds the controversial view that New Sideburn pretty much knew what they were doing, and is a closet admirer of Gethin Ramsey. He is a tall, handsome, clean-shaven all-Brenecian hero, and all the belles in the land swoon for him. On the pitch, he is loud, has an endless capacity for screaming and spends most of the match looking extremely bitter. More a tactical manager than a leader of men.

Garrett HIGHBURY - 68
Assistant Manager

Highbury spent most of his career as gaffer for various clubs, and now in his semi-retirement acts as Lawless’ loudspeaker. He excels at shouting at people hard enough to force them to go that extra mile. His experience also lends him a deep respect for youth and the ability of players to grow into new roles; most agree he was largely responsible for the decision to pick a very young squad.
1 - Stephen MANSFIELD - 29 - Northern Union
A relatively young, ambitious goalkeeper who lead Northern Union to not only win the the league but to the final of the Serenes Champion's Cup. He's an extremely intuitive positioner with superb reflexes. He's a little ropey with corners, however, and his handling could use work. Even so, he's an asset to the squad, and won't let the side down.

20 - Bryan KENWAY - 36 - North Hall
Even at 36, Kenway is in fine physical shape, able to bulldoze people out of his way and win the ball. He's a powerful kicker of the ball, as well, and these long passes have proven unnervingly accurate over the years. Age may have tarnished his reflexes, but he's a more than able backup for the younger Mansfield.

21 - Felix CARRICK - 25 - Violence Chariots (New Sideburn)
Carrick marshalled the back line of the Chariots in a surprisingly good season for the Sideburnese team; they stood fourth at midseason. He's quickly maturing into a stunning goalkeeper, and it likely won't be long until he holds the #1 jersey.
2 - Alexis SILENCE - 26 - Northern Union
Left-back

A quiet young woman generally possessed of an ill temper, she has nonetheless proven vital to Northern Union's title challenge and cup success. 5’7” and wiry, her strength belies her small frame, and her versatility enables her to serve in attack as well as defence. Her discipline is the only thing that lets her down; she was once red carded in consecutive starts.

3 - Leo MUSKET (c) - 31 - AFC Kingsgrove
Centre-back

A strong bulwark in defence, someone you can trust to have standing by your side. Unparalleled at man-marking, especially in a corner. Somewhat prone to optimistic long shots, but he’s rarely upfield anyway; very much a man with a traditional hunting ground, and in that defensive third he is king.

4 - Larissa FIDELITY - 30 - Rozelle
Centre-back

Prematurely grey, Fidelity’s age at 30 lends her a veteran quality that this young team badly needs. She may not be a wonder in the air, but she’s got remarkable ball control, great pace and an uncanny ability to dispossess someone without crippling them.

5 - Bruce MORANT - 33 - AFC Integabad
Centre-back

Despite enduring a rocky season with AFC Integabad, Morant remains the natural choice as backup to the starting central defence. An enforcer with no mercy for the enforced, and while his playstyle doesn’t really extend beyond that it never really needs to, either. After all, if all you have is a hammer..

15 - Joan CALWAY - 28 - Ridgeway United
Right-back

Calway acts more as the traditional right-back of the squad, while Allbeck is more prone to upfield runs. She’s solid, dependable and can stick to a man like glue if you need her to. Calway has never been sent off or given away a penalty in her professional career.

17 - Samantha ALLBECK - 23 - South Laithland (New Sideburn)
Right-back

Sam Allbeck has been a successful and integral part of South Laithland’s fairly solid three-man defence. That alone is a credential that’s valuable to many. Why is she that good? Not only is she fast, nippy and tenacious, but she’s known for her long-range strikes. Unnervingly often, they hit the target.

22 - Tomas PROUDFOOT - 30 - Violence Chariots (New Sideburn)
Left-back

The third Chariot in the squad, Proudfoot stayed with the Chenoworth Harriers throughout their turbulent Premiership battles for survival, even in 329 when they failed. Now with a five-year contract at the Chariots, he hopes his tireless play, his remarkable pace and his ability to masquerade as a centre-back will take him far.
6 - John LYONS (vc) - 32 - Scaffield
Defensive Midfielder

The oldest player in the starting eleven, and vice-captain. Large, barrel-chested and good-natured, his subtle technique in attack begins and ends at ‘hoof the ball upfield’. As a holding midfielder, however, he is ideal, slowly moving to wherever he’s needed but always there in time to deny an opportunity, excelling at short, quick passes to open teammates and able to analyse the entire line of sight at a glance.

7 - Ashleigh TWINING - 27 - Crisisbless (New Sideburn)
Attacking Midfielder

One of the most hyped signings in the post-328 transfer window, Twining was meant to be the signing that sealed Crisisbless’ title victory once and for all. It didn’t really work, shunting them from 4th to 3rd, though they did win the Cup. Even so, Twining remains a hot prospect with unmatched ball control, an unselfish nature and a keen eye for goal.

8 - Rhys FONTAINE - 30 - Scaffield
Attacking Midfielder

A versatile attacking player who can double as a second, fast striker in event of a change to 4-4-2, Fontaine’s sixth sense is uncanny. He’s a real goal poacher, and can stride confidently forward to put himself in the perfect position to smugly sidefoot in a goal. His only downfall is lacking Twining’s insight.

11 - Fiona SYLVER - 27 - Violence Chariots (New Sideburn)
Central Midfielder
Sylver’s experience in the New Sideburn Premiership as a small, wiry playmaker have taught her the ins and outs of playing in her allies neatly and efficiently. When the team needs a flat four in midfield, or a playmaker to centre the flow of the game around, or even just someone equally skilled going forward and back, Sylver is the go-to lass.

13 - Vince RIGGS - 25 - AFC Chafford
Defensive Midfielder

Big, solid, workmanlike Vinny Riggs has a lantern jaw and permanent five-o’clock shadow, and also hunts down other midfielders like they’re his prey. He’s a holding midfielder that lacks finesse, but makes up for this with his sheer physicality. Also capable of massive long throws.

16 - Richard STERN - 28 - Envy River
Defensive Midfielder
Stern goes that extra distance to make certain there’s no mischief. Off the ball, there’s none better at anticipating play and calculating his own placement. He’s the man who stayed behind when a corner went bad, or throws himself at the ball to get a stoppage time goal. It is uncertain whether this is an incredible sixth sense or sheer luck, but it gets results.

23 - Jonathan IRONGATE - 30 - Rozelle
Defensive Midfielder

A holding midfielder with absolutely no qualms about professional fouls or tactical yellow cards; anything to get one over on the referee. He goes in hard for the ball without really caring what’s in his way. He’s also fast, though he lacks composure in front of goal and his ball control could be better.
9 - Leigh COURAGE - 20 - Northern Union
Left Winger

While certainly capable of great things, Leigh Courage, the youngest player in the squad, is somewhat overshadowed by understudying to national phenomenon Miriam Spitfire. Courage, unlike Spitfire, allows for a little more tactical depth, preferring to go inside and shoot with her favoured right. While her defensive capabilities aren’t spectacular, she can still go far as a player, and likely will.

10 - Miriam SPITFIRE - 22 - Envy River
Left Winger

Spitfire’s strength is in her thunderous left foot, generally used to rake venemous crosses down the field. She also excels at striking from distance, though she is not a natural goalscorer. Right now, she’s the shining talent of the team, and in future years she may well become the greatest player to ever don the blue and white.

12 - Bryan RESPECT - 27 - Westpyke FC
Right Winger

Bryan Respect has never stayed more than two and a half years at a club, not counting loans; he claims he gets sick of staying in one place. So it is with his playstyle; making runs and creating opportunities all over the pitch, he has a remarkable insight for creating forward passes for others, and specialises at clinical near-post finishing.

14 - Edmund PIKE - 30 - Scaffield
Striker

A big target man who sometimes takes a while to get started, but when fully fit and warmed up he’s good to go the whole match. Always a threat with the ball, and while ball control isn’t his forte he is very capable of smashing in goals with his feet as well as his head. Capable of wresting back possession from the opposition, and even playing in central midfield in a pinch.

18 - James MACBETH - 25 - Sabrefell Moths (New Sideburn)
Right Winger

The Patriots’ strengths stem from their wing play, and Macbeth is one of their star wingers who will, ideally, start every game fully fit. At the pinnacle of physical condition, with a good combination of pace and control. Two-footed, though he prefers his left, and thus able to cut inside to score goals when needed. He lead Rozelle to a 4th placed finish and a Cup win before following the money in a big signing for the Sabrefell Moths. The star man of the team.

19 - Aldous HUCKERBY - 36 - Iron City (New Sideburn)
Striker

Fresh off securing promotion to the Premiership, Huckerby is once more in the league that deserves him. The veteran striker is in his twilight years now, but he has all the qualities needed in a pure target man.
1 - Stephen Mansfield (Northern Union)
20 - Bryan Kenway (North Hall)
21 - Felix Carrick (Violence Chariots)

2 - Alexis Silence (Northern Union)
3 - Lionel Musket (AFC Kingsgrove)
4 - Larissa Fidelity (Rozelle)
5 - Bruce Morant (AFC Integabad)
15 - Joan Calway (Ridgeway United)
17 - Samantha Allbeck (South Laithland)
22 - Tomas Proudfoot (Chenoworth Harriers)

6 - John Lyons (Scaffield)
7 - Ashleigh Twining (Crisisbless)
8 - Rhys Fontaine (Scaffield)
11 - Fiona Sylver (Violence Chariots)
13 - Vince Riggs (AFC Chafford)
16 - Richard Stern (Envy River)
23 - Jonathan Irongate (Rozelle)

9 - Leigh Courage (Northern Union)
10 - Miriam Spitfire (Envy River)
12 - Bryan Respect (Westpyke FC)
14 - Edmund Pike (Scaffield)
18 - James Macbeth (Sabrefell Moths)
19 - Aldous Huckerby (Iron City)

Stadium
Two in particular are favoured; Union Park (home of AFC Northern Union) in Pavonia is the most suitable club stadium, recently redeveloped and boasting a capacity of 70,500 all sitting, but more traditional is the ancient, dusty Kingsgarden in the capital, Rozelle, which holds 41,000 in moderate discomfort and is used exclusively for national events and cup finals; that is to say, as infrequently as possible.

Coaching Staff

Xíanjí Hatema
Age: 58
Xíanjí is most well known to be one of Nagato Goya's best scoring and most capped players in football history. He is known as a compassionate but highly disciplined coach. HE knows no defeat and strives for perfection within his team, especially on the world stage.

Huangzhou Yu
Age: 29
Fresh from Xiangzhou Sapphire's field, the assistant coach looks promising according to the critics and Xíangjí Hatema. He started his career as coach with a local team and fought his way up to the major domestic league of Kandorith. He has shown to be calm and understanding, making him the perfect candidate as assistant coach for the national team.

Starting XI

Goalkeeper

Huajian Kanzo
Age: 21
Length: 196CM
This young goalie started his career at the Jinhuan Wings, to be bought by Nagato Goya, where he has a flawless record between the post for two seasons now. Huajian is well on his way of becoming a hall of fame goalkeeper, being a great one-on-one defender as a great free kick and corner kick interceptor.

Defence

Kahua Jin
Age: 22
Length: 185CM
Another young gun from Jiexie, he is the captain of the defence; always aware of situations and quick to step in towards any incoming attack. He is known for his robust but fair tackles; never taking his eye off the ball.

Jin Zexi
Age: 25
Length: 178CM
Known for his quick tackles and saving headers; this agile defender is a tough one to run away from. He only has one goal: regaining possession and passing the ball around as quick as possible.

Mitsuharu Eri
Age: 23
Length: 176CM
Mitsuharu, a true defender. He is the man for the pass and the crosses, the tactical link between and in-between the midfield. He is a great supportive player and a quick runner, with an eye for quick passes or crosses trough the midfield.

Midfield

Miraki Nakamura
Age: 22
Length: 190CM
Miraki Nakamura, the "star" defender of Xianghzou Sapphires. With his length, sturdiness and great heading abilities he is sure to give strikers who are receiving the ball or are trying to make a run for it a hard time. Even though he is quite sturdy; Miraki does not lack in speed at all, being an agile and fast player.

JieJie
Age: 25
Length: 177CM
Passer, runner and assists; JieJie, another star from Nagato Goya. He has made his debute 3 years ago and has shown many coaches he is the man for the midfield passing and chance creating. With tactical insight and almost unmatchable running speed he is the winger and the attacking midfielder.

Taiji Moto
Age: 26
Length: 181CM
The Captain, El Commandante, and the elder; Taiji Moto the captain of the Kandorese National Team and the Captain of Nagato Goya. Experienced, ferocious and quick. He plays mostly defensive but when he sees a goal scoring opportunity or the chance for an assist he won't hold back. He is one of the links of the chain,to keep that ball passing and keep possession, while steering the team towards a goal.

Ximin Chosi
Age: 22
Length: 177CM
Ximin, an ambitious young player from Yingshua Sabers, one of the lesser known teams of the Kandorese Imperial League; but equally dangerous as the bigger names, mostly because of this player. He is an excellent runner, passer and crosser; always looking for a hole in the defence to press the ball towards the striker, he does not often score; but when he does, it's a ranged effort with extreme finesse.

Atasuki Eguchi
Age: 24
Length: 177CM
The true winger of the team, always scanning the sideline; waiting for that pass to push it forward and create a goal chance. He is a fast and agile runner with great crossing ability. His most notable love of the game, is giving defenders a hard time by running and crossing when they least expect it.

Strikers

Iichi Fuji
Age: 23
Length: 182CM
The "support" striker. Iichi is the main assist and header in front of goal; his headers are precise, fast and dangerous; just like this man when he has the ball in front of goal. He does not aim for the goal, he is the main passer when the 6 yard box gets hot. A real dribbler and trick passer, leaving the scoring to his fellow strikers or attacking midfielder.

Méng Zeijí
Age: 21
Length: 181CM
The current star of Kandorese football. This youngster has made his name as goal cannon, never passing the oppertunity to score and when he does see the chance; the ball flies in like a guided projectile. Also agile and a real dribbler, he loves to run circles around the defence and rocket the ball into a tight corner. Méng is accurate, calm and controlled, which made him the current top scorer of the Kandorese league.

Starters in bold:

Goal:
1. Haki Asgard - GK (34) - A solid goalkeeper, experienced and a natural leader. Co-captain behind Sobek Dehenat. Could be his last cycle.
12. Eren Dauragur - GK (27) - On the squad after Ko-oren B's good run in the Market Cup. He's growing faster than Enshadilsa, and with Asgard aging, he might get some appearances.
23. Storm Enshadilsa - GK (25) - Forever called 'the biggest talent', but needs to show some results. Still third goalkeeper.

Defenders:
2. Svarlamn Norn - LWB (26) - Energetic leftback, has good passing and is always looking for an offensive break.
3. Sobek Dehenat - CB (34) - Captain and biggest personality on the team. Calm and collected, experienced leader of the defense. Might be on his last cycle.
4. Lodur Nidog - RWB (28) - Slow player, but excellent in keeping strikers away from the ball. Has everything you would look for in a defender, but nothing more.

13. Katanmak Juliasterinthen - CB (21) - Biggest defending talent. Learning the ropes from Dehenat, both in the NT and at the club. Has a brilliant future ahead of him.
14. Fuujin Iwaki - CB (26) - Reliable CB, though he hardly does anything outside of defense. Poor passing. Like Nidog, but a tad worse.
20. Futushi Musashi - RB (29) - Can play on either wing, slightly unreliable defender who's in the best of his years. If he wants to make the team, this is his year.

Midfielders:
7. Fin Fenner - RCM (30) - Central passing man on the team. Any attack is likely to start with one of his passes.
8. Susano Sanuki - LCM (28) - The most defensive of the five midfielders, sometimes acts as second central back next to Dehenat.

6. Nalaikh Bagaurunir - DM (21) - Was on the U-21 squad in the Di Bradini Cup. Despite the poor results there, he was called for the team.
16. Roluswishandin Erlenajaur - DM (22) - Inexperienced and it shows, needs to play a lot more important matches before he can play in the NT.
15. Bjarswind Napertnau - CM (23) - The next Fin Fenner. Excellent passing, can even take free kicks well.
21. Koneruthen Haukderevnastar - DM (20) - On the squad to get more experienced. Not likely to play, but who knows what might happen.
10. Palnatoki Idrasil - RWM (28) - Quick winger, unpredictable and good at crosses as well as dribbling.
5. Thor Alfar - LWM (24) - Can give good crosses, but is too slow to get in that position often. He is very strong though, and can hold the ball well.
17. Pta Talmis - AM (25) - Passing man behind the strikers. Knows exactly when to give a through pass, pass to the wings, or pass back.

18. Esolywend Eregrent - AM (21) - Attacking midfielder who is also just as good on either wing. Can even play central midfielder.

Attackers:
11. Koyane Shiribeshi - ST (31) - Still the star of the team. This might be his last cycle so he can quit on his peak.
9. Naemasu Tokachi - ST (28) - Second striker behind Shiribeshi. Most assists are by him, but he can score too.

19. Izasul Terathu - RS (26) - Next big striker. Often substituted on for Shiribeshi when his age starts showing. Energetic, agile and fast.
22. Uilta Bonangorthen - LS (24) - Called because Ko-oren is short on good strikers. Was in the Ko-oren B team, and was quite good there.

RP-ing without having to read/think?
Most likely to score: Shiribeshi - Tokachi - Idrasil - Fenner - Alfar - Dehenat (just the starters)
Most likely to be booked: Norn - Sanuki - Nidog - Talmis - Alfar - Dehenat (just the starters)
Most likely substitutions:
Striker - striker: Shiribeshi/Tokachi <->Terathu
Attacking midfielder - attacking midfielder: Idrasil/Talmis/Alfar <-> Eregrent/Napertnau
Defensive midfielder - defensive midfielder: Fenner <-> Napertnau, Sanuki <-> Leire
Defender - defender: Norn/Nidog <-> Iwaki, Dehenat <-> Juliasterinthen

Offensive sub: Fenner/Sanuki <-> Eregrent, Talmis <-> Terathu
Defensive sub: Idrasil/Talmis/Alfar <-> Napertnau, Fenner <-> Iwaki/Juliasterinthen

Staff, Tactics and Strategy

Staff :
    Manager - Ishikawa Haruka
Ishikawa Haruka is the current manager of the Mizuyuki national team. She has vast experience in football, having captained the women's national football team as well as having filled the position of assistant manager during a short tenure at one of Mizuyuki's top clubs, Okinawa Breeze. Known for being a silky and graceful playmaker capable of threading a pass through the most intricate defence, her ability to unlock teams and leave their weaknesses exposed led to her being accorded legend status by adoring Mizuyuki fans.

After her retirement, Ishikawa immediately took her coaching badges and began to work towards her dream of leading the Mizuyuki national team to glory. Her predecessor as national team manager, the esteemed Erizawa Takehiko, personally recommended Ishikawa for the job after taking retirement following 25 years in charge.

Ishikawa is widely seen as a revolutionary following her successful development of her Zen Flash system. Following a promising run in Mizuyuki's maiden Market Cup, Mizuyuki slumped to a disappointing early exit in the 52nd Baptism of Fire, which led Ishikawa to come under fire for her overly cavalier tactics which were perceived as idealistic and detrimental to the team as a whole. Nonetheless, Ishikawa will once again be looking to take on the world's teams in the World Cup.

    Assistant Manager - Shiokawa Kamiko
First Team Coaches - Inaba Tsuyoshi, Minami Kana
    Fitness Coach - Tatsuno Makoto

Style of Play :
    +3.5

The Mizuyuki national team embodies possession play. Going by the maxim of a renowned football legend in Mizuyuki, "if you don't give the ball away, your opponents won't score.", the current manager Ishikawa Haruka insists on a progressive style, with emphasis on attack and possession rather than defence. However, Ishikawa's special variation of the Dutch Total Football married with a touch of the Italian Catenaccio system is a totally revolutionary concept in football, one that has enabled Mizuyuki to sweep to several wins during the system's trial period. The national team plays with a high defensive line, together with heavy use of the offside trap to nullify attacks. Ishikawa usually fields a technical and pacy center back capable of acting as a deep lying playmaker, while the four midfielders alternate their positions during games. The two wider midfielders are able to play as both wingbacks and advanced wingers, while the two central midfielders usually breaking up play, but an occasional upfield surge is not uncommon. Designed to catch the opponent by surprise with either total domination of possession or position swapping, this team is wildly unpredictable and enigmatic, to say the least.

Squad

#1 - TAKANASHI Kiyoko - 15 - Okinawa Breeze

A former protege of Ishikawa during her time at Okinawa Breeze, Takanashi was spotted during an annual talent competition by Ishikawa's scouting team at the tender age of 13. Acknowledged as Mizuyuki's first-choice goalkeeper, Takanashi is mentally resilient and tough, although her temperament can be a bit fiery. She stands at 187 cm tall, not the best height for a goalkeeper, but her tremendous athleticism allows her to make top-drawer saves when she's in form. However, she is known to be prone to dropping horrendous clangers, and it is an aspect of her game that Ishikawa is desperately trying to rectify. Despite her young age, she already has 20 international caps to her name as well as 12 clean sheets, a testament to Ishikawa's hard work in trying to mould Takanashi into a truly international standard goalkeeper.

#32 - MATSUMOTO Junjiro - 19 - Urawa FC

Matsumoto was once viewed as the natural successor to the coveted goalkeeper spot in Mizuyuki's national team. However, a horrific injury involving a pair of pruning shears and a lawnmower landed him in hospital for 7 months, during which Takanashi swooped in and usurped his spot. Now fully recovered, Matsumoto sports several unbecoming scars down the side of his face and chest, but nevertheless remains a safe pair of hands and a solid understudy for Takanashi. He is not as talented as Takanashi, but his height of 200 cm makes it easier for him to pull saves off despite that. Matsumoto still has a future with Mizuyuki, if he manages to dislodge Takanashi from the team.

#98 - OOSHIMA Takumi - 29 - Sapporo Strike

Ooshima is the most experienced goalkeeper around. Known for his solid shot-stopping ability, Ooshima remains one of the top goalkeepers in Mizuyuki's top division, and still has more years at the top level left in him. He is accepting of the fact that Ishikawa chose him as her third-choice goalkeeper for the Market Cup, having been the undisputed starter for years under Erizawa's tutelage, but has vowed to do his best to win over Ishikawa. Ooshima is a hardened veteran, and don't be surprised to see him in goal for Mizuyuki if Matsumoto and Takanashi don't live up to Ishikawa's expectations.

#2 - NAKANO Rin - 15 - Okinawa Breeze - Centre Back

Not to be confused with her twin sister Kohaku, Rin is yet another product of Okinawa Breeze's famous academy, and is just starting to show her immense potential. Despite her young age, she has constantly been first choice CB for her club team. It remains to be seen whether Rin can make the cut at international level, but her form at club level suggests that she can have a big impact on the national team. She has been struck with injury a couple of times during her debut season, but amazingly still managed to help her club along to 10 clean sheets in the 14 matches she played in, while also contributing at the other end with 3 goals and 1 assist. Rin is poised to be among Ishikawa's starters for the Market Cup, and only time will tell whether she can firmly entrench herself in her national team. A highly technical centre back, Rin stands at 180 cm in height and loves to surge forward in attack.

#12 - TOYOSHIMA Shigeru - 18 - Fukuoka Cannons - Centre Back

Simply put, Toyoshima is a loose cannon. As befitting his club. Toyoshima is undoubtedly blessed with talent, but his rather more questionable activities has led to an extended spell on the sidelines for both club and country. Nevertheless, Toyoshima has apparently reformed himself from delinquent to a general on the pitch, and the Market Cup might well be his big break for Mizuyuki. He just might do Mizuyuki proud if he keeps himself busy solely with footballing affairs. Toyoshima is the classic limited defender - he can go in hard on the tackle as well as hoof the ball upfield, but technical-wise he is among the most inferior of Mizuyuki's national team. However, he makes up for that by his great positioning, strength and deceptive speed. No matter how many balls are pumped into his area, Toyoshima will be on hand to scramble it out. When he plays, his opponents almost never win headers against him, as shown by the fact that he has won on average 5 headers per match in his own area. Expect him to score a handful of goals for Mizuyuki too, if he can keep his cool on the pitch.

#26 - NAKANO Kohaku - 15 - Okinawa Breeze - Centre Back

Kohaku is the antithesis to her twin sister Rin. While Rin makes the most of her technical abilities by bombing forward to support the attack, Kohaku prefers to lie deep and play balls to her teammates with her excellent distribution and vision. Once fielded as a target man by her youth coach at Okinawa Breeze, Kohaku made the transition to centre back to form a telepathic partnership with Rin following several severe injuries to fellow centre backs in the midst of her debut season. Towering over Rin at 192 cm, Kohaku is known for her passing range and defensive instinct. Her height also allows Ishikawa an alternative strategy by pushing her forward into attack, reprising Kohaku's former role as a target man. Although she is comfortable playing in both positions, Kohaku has said that she prefers playing in defence with Rin, so expect her to be fielded there except when in an emergency.

#3 - SUZUKI Rikka - 16 - FC Sendai - Left Back

Suzuki was once ridiculed by an opponent fan while playing for her local team, who apparently said that she would never amount to anything. The fan's jaw dropped and hit the floor when Suzuki outperformed every man on the pitch in her next game. Suzuki was subsequently offered a lucrative contract by FC Sendai, and she unhesitatingly made the switch into the big time. Despite her obvious talent, Suzuki has been used sparingly this season, with her head coach preferring Okabe Kazuhiko in her position, but Suzuki has shown obvious glimpses of her ability when afforded minutes on the pitch. A pacy wingback who focuses on attack more than defence, her crosses into the area are nothing short of sublime. She also likes to cut into the middle when given space and fire off rockets from distance with her right foot. Suzuki does not have many obvious weaknesses, with one shortcoming of hers being her limited strength. Capable of playing as a wide midfielder or winger, Suzuki will be making her full international debut in the Market Cup, and she will be looking to secure a place in the team for years to come.

#6 - OKABE Kazuhiko - 18 - FC Sendai - Left Back

Okabe is a traditional fullback. FC Sendai's defensive-oriented coach preferred him to Suzuki simply because he offered more solidity and made the defence more compact on his flank. Normally fielded as a defensive fullback or a defensive winger, Okabe is extremely tenacious in defence - he'll stick to his man and prevent him from even getting a sniff at goal. His mastery in defence is compounded by sensible attacking play - Okabe usually goes for the overlap and aims crosses into the box, unlike Suzuki's more progressive approach. Nevertheless, he does not compromise his own defence like Suzuki in attack, and so is a solid alternative option for Ishikawa at leftback. Expect him to be fielded against more attacking teams. His defensive nature will do him no favours with Ishikawa though, so Suzuki is primed to get the nod for most matches unless there is an obvious tactical reason for fielding Okabe.

#4 - SATO Mana - 14 - Shimazu Pulse - Right Back

Sato Mana hails from last season's league champions, Shimazu Pulse. Although Shimazu conceded some 40 goals over the course of 38 matches, the energetic Sato made sure that it wasn't more due to her excellent defensive performances down the right. More of a conservative player than Suzuki, Sato is also in the same mould as Okabe, but with more attacking verve and creativity. Sato's exceedingly impressive stamina allows her to bomb up the right flank on penetrating attacking runs, and she can serve as the key to unlock opposition defences and take them by surprise. Her defensive performances are not to be sniffed at, and she made a league high 5.2 interceptions per game last season as well as averaging 2.1 tackles per game.Sato is a consistent first choice for her club team, and she will strive to make her impression on Ishikawa in the Market Cup.

#19 - OKITA Tsukiko - 17 - Nagato Kaze - Right Back

Nagato Kaze, who narrowly avoided relegation last season, are bracing themselves for the loss of Okita, who was the major reason why they survived the relegation dogfight. Although she did not have the best of starts to the season, Okita quickly grew into the right back position and enjoyed a sustained run in the team, aided by the suspension of the former first choice right back for 10 matches following violent conduct. Okita seized the chance by the scruff of its neck and went on to contribute massively to Nagato's survival, ranking 5th on the league leaderboard for most assists, scoring 3 goals and helping the team to keep clean sheets in their last 4 games to spark a revival of their fortunes. Okita is widely acknowledged as the most talented member of Nagato Kaze, so it is no surprise that teams are trying to prise her away from her club. Okita herself has openly stated that she would not be committing her future to Nagato just yet, sparking a bidding war for her signature. A great performance on the international stage will only serve to further boost her hopes of landing a lucrative transfer.

#5 - AKIYAMA Yoko - 20 - Shimazu Pulse - Defensive Midfielder (C)

Akiyama Yoko, the captain of Shimazu Pulse, led her team to an unprecedented treble in both the league and the 2 domestic cups. Shimazu's excellent trophy haul was largely due to their talismanic captain, who was instrumental in breaking up opposition attacks and launching incisive through balls for her forwards. Akiyama's style of play led to her contributing 12 direct assists and 34 created chances, while her performance in the Tenno Cup final against Okinawa Breeze was noted for her domination of Okinawa's midfield. Akiyama is not hesitant in diving in for the tackle, and she has gained recognition for her passionate, committed style of play. Akiyama certainly has a bright future ahead of her, and Mizuyuki media have reported that a foreign club is considering testing the waters with a tentative bid for Akiyama. Nonetheless, Akiyama has been a one club player throughout her career, and it remains highly unlikely that she will depart Shimazu. A no-nonsense midfield enforcer, expect Akiyama to keep opposition attackers safely and securely under wraps. Ishikawa has recognised her brilliant leadership qualities and her ability to marshal her defence and midfield, and has appointed Akiyama as captain for the Market Cup squad.

#8 - MITAKA Satoshi - 18 - Hokkaido Taka - Defensive Midfielder

The embodiment of guts, tenacity, and sheer bloody mindedness. Mitaka, nicknamed the "Executioner" by Mizuyukian sports fans, has a reputation that makes attackers tremble in their feet. A strong defensive midfielder, Mitaka does not hesitate to give away fouls or chop down opposing players in order to halt the attack. He often tries to get a hatchet job in when the referee's not looking, but this unprofessional flaw of his has to be corrected if he is to stand any chance of selection for Mizuyuki. Nonetheless, Mitaka is an effective recycler of possession, and prefers to go for the simple pass, usually either to Akiyama, Tsukuyomi or a wide player, instead of trying fancy passes. Mitaka is an undisciplined player, as highlighted by his terrible league discipline record - 15 yellow cards and 4 red cards. Ishikawa may be taking a gamble that could backfire spectacularly by picking him, but if her risky pick does pay off, Mitaka could very well be the solid anchor man that Mizuyuki needs.

#7 - TSUKUYOMI Akira - 16 - Tokyo Revolution - Central Attacking Midfielder/Trequartista (VC I)

Tsukuyomi Akira is the maverick of Mizuyuki. His outstanding creative abilities have won him plaudits from footballers and fans alike, and Tsukuyomi was recently named the Mizuyuki Young Player of the Year and Player of the Year. Tsukuyomi has also been called the next Ishikawa Haruka, who was likewise notable in that she was also able to play a great range of passes and had incredible on field vision. Tsukuyomi, one of only two players from Tokyo Revolution to be named in the official squad for the Market Cup, is given unlimited creative freedom on the pitch. He can be seen drifting from one flank to another, attempting speculative long range efforts, or powering his way through the middle with his silky dribbling moves. Tsukuyomi has great flair and loves to take on his defender, so it is no surprise to see him running at the opposition defence. He is also a speed merchant, blazing past opposition defenders in a flash. However, Tsukuyomi has surprisingly little stamina and strength, an aspect that needs some serious work to correct. With 18 goals and 21 assists in the recently concluded league season, Tsukuyomi has been involved in the largest amount of goals scored in the league. At the tender age of 17, one wonders how far Tsukuyomi will go in football.

#10 - ISSHIKI Mika - 14 - Shimazu Pulse - Right Winger

Isshiki of Shimazu Pulse is known as the most prolific dribbler in Mizuyuki. Averaging a 7.3 league high in dribbles per game, Isshiki loves to take her opponent on with her dazzling footwork, amazing speed and tight close control. She keeps the ball very well indeed, and it is a nigh impossible task for an opponent to rob her of the ball one on one. However, her pace does negatively affect her ball control, and she is prone to losing the ball easily when running at full speed. Isshiki's strength also leaves a lot to be desired, although she more than makes up for it with her speed and dribbling ability. Other than that, Isshiki can be slightly selfish, and often looks to dribble even when a teammate is free, and she tends to cut inside and attempt to work the goalkeeper with long shots. Her whipping crosses are second only to Honda's, and are a handful for any defence to deal with.

#17 - HONDA Midori - 16 - Ryukyu Genesis - Left Winger/Forward

In contrast to Isshiki, Honda takes a more direct route towards goal. Instead of skipping past challenges, Honda makes it her job to sprint past defenders with pure agility and speed. She is statistically the fastest player in the Mizuyuki national team, and Ishikawa has been known to rely heavily on Honda in counterattacking systems. An advantage Honda holds over Isshiki is that she has good control of the ball even at high speeds, although her finishing is not on par with Mizuyuki's forwards. Her crossing is not to be sniffed at either. Usually bringing the ball to the byline and crossing with her stronger left foot, Honda's viciously curling crosses can prove to be a hazard to defenders, with no less than 10 of her crosses resulting in an own goal in the recently concluded Mizuyuki league.

#20 - MUGINO Kotone - 18 - Ryukyu Genesis - Central Midfielder

Mugino is the classic central midfielder. With Mizuyuki having an abundance of talent in the more specialised midfield positions, Mugino is usually deployed as a utility player who can theoretically play anywhere among the outfield positions. Her natural position is in central midfield, but Mugino is given tactical freedom by Ishikawa to patrol the field and help out the team whenever she can, be it at defending set pieces, attacking set pieces, providing a passing option or pressing to win back possession. Her passing and vision are quite limited, and she tends to look for the simple pass in midfield.

#22 - SATEN Ruiko - 17 - Mugen Chiheisen FC - Central Midfielder (VC II)

One of Mizuyuki's more dazzling stars, Saten is an undisputed first choice for Ishikawa. Saten often represents Mizuyuki in triathlons and endurance races, and as a result her stamina and strength is second to none. In addition, her tremendous explosive power gives her an edge over her opponents. She often arrives late in the box to take a shot during attacks, and is a prolific long range shooter. Saten is also given the responsibility to shield her defence on top of her attacking duties, and she manages to marry both responsibilities very well. Saten is the quintessential box-to-box midfielder, and her almost unlimited energy makes her perfectly suited for the job.

#32 - YAMAHA Miyako - 18 - Okinawa Breeze - Right Winger

Okinawa Breeze's leading light, the pacy Yamaha is famous for her dribbling and speed, just like Isshiki. She loves to take on defenders and slip past their despairing tackles, but her control is immaculate. However, Yamaha is known to get drawn into silly, unnecessary tackles, often compromising the team's position by receiving a card. Her passion for the beautiful game sometimes clouds her mind, and thus she is not viewed as first choice material by Ishikawa. She prefers to hug the byline while looking for support, and prefers to cut in rather than crossing near the corner flag.

#13 - TSUCHIMIKADO Mikoto - 16 - Mugen Chiheisen FC - Right Winger/Central Attacking Midfielder/Forward

Appointed Mugen Chiheisen's captain at 16 years of age, Tsuchimikado is far mature beyond her years. Her great scoring record in the league, 16 goals in 25 games, highlight how much of a talent she is. Her leadership qualities are excellent, while her versatility allows her to theoretically be deployed anywhere across the advanced midfield or in the forward line. A speedy midfielder, Tsuchimikado is quick on the counter and has impeccable vision, while her respectable dribbling skills and flair have helped her net many a goal. She can be a ball hogger at times, but her coaches have tolerated this shortcoming simply because her selfishness has often led to goals. Still, she is making her full international debut only now, so it remains to be seen whether she can step up to the plate. Widely touted to become Mizuyuki's next big star.

#15 - MISAKA Yuka - 18 - Ryukyu Genesis - Left Defensive Winger

Misaka Yuka of Ryukyu Genesis is an unconventional winger. Instead of trying to attack the opposition, Misaka mostly concentrates on streamlining the attack down her flank. She has good defensive capabilities, and often leaves the duty of attacking to her fullback. Misaka can also organise and start an attack by herself down the flank, although her dribbling ability is rather weak. Once she breaks up an opposition attack or receives the ball on the wing, Misaka tends to drift inwards looking for space or an opening to pass the ball through. Don't be fooled by her seemingly passive game - Misaka has a powerful long range shot and can make inattentive goalkeepers pay dearly with some long range rockets.

#9 - TSUKINO Ryuuko - 16 - Shimazu Pulse - Forward

One of the most prolific finishers in the Mizuyuki national team, it is said of Tsukino that she can hit the post on purpose ten times out of ten from the penalty spot. Tsukino's deadly shot allows her to be a classic poacher - all she needs to do is fire the ball at goal. There's not much to her game except shooting, but to Tsukino, all the other aspects are singularly unimportant. However, Tsukino is also quite decent physically. She is among the top 5 of Mizuyuki's national team in pace, and she can easily shrug off most weaker challenges. She does not make much use of her physical abilities though, and prefers to stay in an offensive position while waiting to apply the finish to her teammates' passes. Tsukino is virtually no help in defending, although she serves to pressure and harry the opposition when the ball is not in Mizuyuki's possession. One touch finishes are her specialty, and she is also great at delivering dead balls.

#11 - KOUSAKA Shizuri - 15 - Sapporo Strike - Forward

A classical target man, Kousaka towers over her fellow forwards at 195 cm. She is quite the strong player, but her agility on the ground is remarkable for her height. The penalty area is a happy hunting ground for Kousaka, with 98% of her goals for Sapporo Strike coming from there. Kousaka tends to dominate her opposition in terms of strength and height from corners, and it is no wonder that her supreme heading ability has contributed a truckload of goals for her club team. Deceptively quick on the ground, Kousaka's ball control and dribbling is acceptable given her position and playing style. Nonetheless, this is a frequently abandoned aspect of Kousaka's game, as muscling her way into the penalty area to either glance a header at goal or to smash the ball past the goalkeeper is infinitely easier given her build.

#18 - MIYAZAKI Misaki - 14 - Tokyo Revolution - Forward

Miyazaki is the complete forward. Affectionately referred to as Misaki-chan by her fans and teammates alike, Miyazaki has all the attributes required of a forward, be it pace, agility, finishing, strength or composure. Her immense talent has been showcased during her spell with Tokyo Revolution, and Miyazaki has been able to reignite the telepathic connection between her and Tsukuyomi at club level in the national fold, with 7 of her 10 international goals having been assisted by the mercurial playmaker. One among Mizuyuki's Generation of Miracles, Miyazaki is primed to take the competition by storm.

APOX WORLD CUP 65 QUALIFYING ROSTER

Manager: Fendergéson Numbá (Farfadillis), Aged 47
Assistant Manager: Chris Maarsden, Aged 30
Style: -2

Spiel: The team went to their first ever finals tournament in Wight and New Montreal States last time, after Númba guided them to their best ever qualifying campaign. He'll hope to follow up last times successes with another successful campaign, and should have a squad good enough to do so. The team didn't travel to the Campionato Esportiva to defend their title, but have still taken part in the Apox Football Tour to prepare themselves for the World Cup qualifiers.

The team will miss the attacking potency of Chris Maarsden up front, and with the nations top two goalscorers retiring from football in successive tournaments, a new batch of promising striker can emerge. Newcomers to the squad are Maxim Kolo and Tolgus Tregajorran, both future stars who will hope to make an impact in qualifiers from the next World Cup as Keri Ularu and Marlon Vetta hold up the attackers for this campaign. Other new and very promising faces to the side are Athelstan Firth and Armando Quillisi, the latter the son of Jon Quillisi. Olim Benzari will once again be captain, and this will likely be his fifth and last qualifying campaign as captain and starter of the national side. He will be hoping to become the first Apoxian to gain 100 caps for his country in football.

ASMV World Cup 65 Roster and Information

Permissions:
You can do anything you like short of killing off players

Squad Name: Sea Dragons

Home Pitch: Ekartera’al se Fuborii Vegai (Vegai Football Cathedral)
Image
Colors: Deep Sky Blue & Yellow

Style: Tidal Surge 3-2-2-1-2
(-2 defensive)

About the Tidal Surge
The Tidal Surge formation is a hybrid style that makes use of athleticism in key “flex” positions that allow the formation to ebb and flow between styles to take advantage of personnel match-ups and break opportunities. At any point in the match the Tidal Surge can more remind viewers and opponents of a 5-3-2 (most often) or a 3 4-3 (least often) but can usually be found flexing in between those extremes.
Three key positions make this formation work. The offensive midfielder with which everyone is familiar and the two hybrid positions called “UP” backs. These two positions are a direct cross between center midfielders and outside backs. These two positions use athletic ability to move up and down the pitch changing the formation to fit the needs of current needs. Thus at any one moment the formation can resemble anything from a 3-4-3 to a 3-5-2 to a 5-3-2 creating, quite nearly, the perfect positions for almost any situation.

Other style notes:
“Smashmouth Footy”. That is how the Sea Dragons play when at their best. They prefer the motto “Hit First, Ask Forgiveness Later” and yet they have become adept enough as to remain just on the safe side of the cards so many other squads get. When you play the Sea Dragons two truths are evident - 1: You had better be ready to play tough and 2: you had better be ready for rough play.

Coaching Staff

Manager: Pygan Ust'dar
Sex: M Age: 71 Ht: 6’4 Wt: 185 lbs
Club: Errion Vega F
Hometown: Anberie, ASMV

A hard-nosed manager who knows how to build a championship club - and maintain it as well, Pygan has been asked to return the Sea Dragons to their former defensive glory and put them in position to finally win a World Cup title. Breaking the Sea Dragon tradition of only carrying 15 players, Pygan has assembled 22 of the Empire’s best as he fully expects the cards to come heavy with this group.

Offensive Asst: Soribo Ough'eng
Sex: M Age: 63 Ht: 6’1 Wt: 180 lbs
Club: Carrington A&T University
Hometown: Carrington, Carrington

Soribo has built a collegiate dynasty on defensive play and opportunistic scoring. The latter is something the Sea Dragons will rely heavily upon as they get back to their defensive roots.

Midfield Asst: Cualonii Eld'tia
Sex: F Age: 37 Ht: 5’8 Wt: 142 lbs
Club: Vegai 4th Quad
Hometwon: Vurang, Eversol

Known for her implementation of a transition style and pace in the midfield, Cualonii will be asked to do the same at this level with just three midfielders. Her natural tendency is to have the middies push forward but she will be asked to have them transition back much more often with the national side. Time will tell if she was the right choice.

Defenders Asst: Niguyi Shy'em
Sex: F Age: 69 Ht: 5’10 Wt: 137 lbs
Club: Kura Kurii
Hometown: Aer’Jhana, Kunei

An innovative defensive coach who gets the most from her players. Returning the Up back position to more of a defensive style rather than the midfield help it had recently become will be a huge factor in the squad’s ability to stifle opposing attackers. Niguyi has been known to reward players for exceptionally brutal hits that change the momentum of the match in her favor.

Goalkeeper Asst : Wopiju Ser'age
Sex: M Age: 40 Ht: 6’6 Wt: 200 lbs
Club: Errion Vega University
Hometown: Errion Vega, ASMV

Wopiju is another dynastic college coach and has turned out more professional keepers than most others have players. He will be responsible for making sure his guys know the tendencies and strengths of anyone they face. Allowing goals at all is simply not an option he cares to think about.

The Squad

Forwards

RS 19 Fylen Kel'tas
Sex: M Age: 36 Ht: 6’1 Wt: 175 lbs
Club: Loire-Mourenx
Hometown: Thinvaux, Mourenx

Fylen Kel’tas. Perhaps the most talented goal scorer in the Empire, he was never given a shot at making the Sea Dragon roster due to the long-standing tradition of bringing up youth players early. With the very best of the young crop now having been dismissed, Fylen will get his chance and is expected to dominate much the same way as Jonasei Ariq’Alara did during his days.

RS 22 Ekeuli Lor'rilo
Sex: F Age: 33 Ht: 5’5 Wt: 124 lbs
Club: Errion Vega FK
Hometown: Norinii, ASMV

Brilliant in domestic play, it is hoped that her lack of size does not work against her at the international level. She is quick and canny, she will work as a change of pace to Fylen who is a much more technical player.

LS 11 Syrinici Tia'bel
Sex: F Age: 39 Ht: 5’7 Wt: 141 lbs
Club: Malachai Ifreet
Hometown: Ashford, Kelsey

Syri has made a career of banging with the boys on the pitch, giving as many hard shots as she receives. She plays unselfishly and cares nothing for personal glory which makes her ideal for the spot opposite Fylen.

LS 13 Bolexii Pol'age
Sex: M Age: 29 Ht: 6’3 Wt: 197 lbs
Club: Isla De Marte University
Hometown: Stephyk, Acai

A top striker at the collegiate level, Bolexii brings a ton of size to the squad. He plays well with his head which is advantageous on set pieces. Perhaps he can prove himself worthy of a starting position when Syri hangs up her boots.

Midfielders

RM 21 Xataru Enth'umii
Sex: M Age:31 Ht: 5’10 Wt: 172 lbs
Club: Errion Vega Polii
Hometown: Jumanji, Errion

The two dedicated midfielders are asked to cover a ton of ground and control the middle of the pitch. Xateru can manage just that. Quick and possessing excellent ball skills, he is able to harass opposing players as well as keep the ball when numbers are awful.

RM 03 Laken Kim'athu
Sex: F Age: 27 Ht: 5’11 Wt: 140 lbs
Club: South Beach University
Hometown: Warden’s Reach, Carr

A bit of a phenom, Laken was chosen as an all-Vegai player her freshman year - something that almost never happens. It is hoped that she will learn from Xateru and develop into a shining star fir the national side.

CAM 10 Acaugu Eld'mosu
Sex: M Age: 37 Ht: 6’0 Wt: 201 lbs
Club: Lai-Una Reisi
Hometown: Se Crucide, Misii

Acaugu is cautious as he moves forward to attack. He doesn’t like to leave the middle open but realizes that the two strikers need help sooner than later if they are to score. What he lacks in speed he makes up with text book style play.

CAM 27 Tekegi Ny'et
Sex: M Age: 35 Ht: 6’2 Wt: 188 lbs
Club: Piossa Juhinx
Hometown: Cyumba, Awesii

The exact opposite of Acaugu, Tekegi is a kamikaze style attacker. Reckless and prone to suspect decision making, he does make up for it with his sheer tenacity and direct approach.

LM 14 Yseelle Tai'ran
Sex: F Age: 32 Ht: 5’7 Wt: 138 lbs
Club: FK Kelsey
Hometown: Summer Hill, Kelsey

The other dedicated middie, Yselle is nearly a mirror image of Xateru in style and ability. Though some may question her inclusion in the starting eleven, her unselfish team play is just what the Sea Dragons need.

LM 20 Estaine Che'ia
Sex: F Age: 28 Ht: 5’9 Wt: 143 lbs
Club: Uza Uzi Sarud
Hometown: Bayt Al Kissaem, Sa Aln

Estaine is a solid player without an ego. In a system that chooses the very best that is a breath of fresh air. While she is unexceptional, she is still very solid and plays like there is no tomorrow.

Defenders

RUB 30 Panirii Ther'tai
Sex: M Age: 35 Ht: 6’6 Wt: 215 lbs
Club: Meldinburg UH
Hometown: Meldinburg, Meldinburg

Panirii is unusually large for an up-back. That fact works both for and against him. But with this new Sea Dragon squad’s focus on stiff defense he should shine through with his knack for being in the right place at the right time.

RUB 29 Keyean Ust'kelo
Sex: M Age: 36 Ht: 6’2 Wt: 194 lbs
Club: Carrington FK
Hometown: New Anumia, Carrington

Like Panirii, Keyean is a larger up-back who knows how to use his size to his advantage. He excels playing the ball in the air and is a solid offensive threat on set pieces.

RB 41 Lyxat Im'untu
Sex: M Age: 33 Ht: 6’4 Wt: 208 lbs
Club: Erda Khaza
Hometown: C’tai Thai, Triarii Rivii

Lyx is a Sea Dragon style defender who doesn’t hesitate to knock the opposition off the ball. He is known as a nasty player who doesn’t mind seeing a card flashed in his face. If he could cut those down a bit he would be a true star for the side.

RB 31 Mugak Ban'dyn
Sex: M Age: 39 Ht: 6’1 Wt: 226 lbs
Club: Radience Sarud
Hometown: Barataria, Radience

Mugak is the voice of reason on a back line of brash, hard hitting players that don’t usually ask forgiveness. It is hoped that he can help instill some control into the game of Lyx, but that remains to be seen and he is more than capable of playing well if called upon.

CB 54 Cadye Tas'dyn
Sex: F Age: 32 Ht: 5’10 Wt: 165 lbs
Club: Ominus Hera
Hometown: Maraa, Compar

Cadye is a big girl with a big mouth - and a big game. Still young by international standards she has plenty of room to grow into her potential. Treating the back line like it is a mosh pit is her way of controlling the flow of the match.

CB 38 Ikuno Ina'vor
Sex: M Age: 35 Ht: 6’7 Wt: 231 lbs
Club: Rayor CambraI
Hometown: Morsang, Royan

If you think that Cadye plays to rough, don’t knock her out of the match. Ikuno makes her play resemble a powder puff match. Violent and aggressive in his style, Ikuno is not truly happy until he has bloodied himself - and hopefully someone else in the process.

LB 17 Aldire Kim'kalo
Sex: M Age: 31 Ht: 6’3 Wt: 199 lbs
Club: Sarii Carrington
Hometown: Yagrish, Meldinburg

Aldire is not afraid to bang for position and yet has the skill for a finesse style of play. The combination is deadly and opposing attackers can never truly get a fix on what he will do next. Aldire jut might be the key to the whole damn squad and its success.

LB 40 Xopuxabu Ess'kalu
Sex: M Age: 32 Ht: 6’2 Wt: 212 lbs
Club: Vega Dras
Hometown: Kinterpunt, Nairu

As a former defensive midfielder, Xopu has all the skills needed when pushing forward. But it is when he is dropping back that he is most effective - thus his inclusion as a defender. Xopu uses position over strength to hold his line and that will come in useful as cards take their toll on the rest of the defensive back field.

LUB 36 Kisurano Ar'is
Sex: M Age: 41 Ht: 5’9 Wt: 177 lbs
Club: Shalreix FK
Hometown: Motmardel, Vierzon

Kisurano has a great burst to the ball and a lightening quick first step. He uses that to keep opposing attackers focused too much on keeping the ball and away from trying to push the attck.

LUB 63 Ytiya Ny'kalu
Sex: F Age: 30 Ht: 5’10 Wt: 167 lbs
Club: Thrivist UH
Homrtown: Stratori, Falcione

A year ago Yitya couldn’t read well enough to sign her first contract without an advocate present for her. Now she is learning and the education is doing its job as she understands more each day about just how attackers go about their business.

Goal Keepers

GK 00 Sithias Zyh'athkim
Sex: M Age: 34 Ht: 6’5 Wt: 184 lbs
Club: Turin-Kelsey
Hometown: Zumrutkya, Alariz

The national side just released Sanlioch Bez’al. That tells you all you need to now about Sithias. Easily the third best keeper in the DSE and perhaps the best. Sithias has huge shoes to fill. He should not have a problem filling them.

GK 24 Lijytukii Cha'ina
Sex: M Age: 38 Ht: 6’9 Wt: 257 lbs
Club: EV Sarud
Hometown: Lophai, Qalim

Well seasoned and more than efficient, Lijytukii is a solid back up for the Sea Dragons. He understands the game and loves to watch film on opposing attackers. He knows their tendencies better than they do and uses that to his advantage.

Choose my goalscorers Y, but try to keep them in the starting 11
Godmod scoring events Y, but not too ridiculous
RP injuries to my players Y, but not to serious
Godmod injuries to my players Y, but please don't cripple them
Hand out yellow cards to my players Y, but not excessively
Hand out red cards to my players Y, but not too often
Godmod other events Y, make it funny

And the team:

Manager: George Davies- Resigned from the first team after a very disappointing start to the World Cup 56, which he deemed disgraceful for a team who had just won the Baptism of Fire, but has since returned to the side. Hoping to rebuild Kalumba's international reputation after a long period away from competition and a decent showing at the last WC.

First Team Coach: Magnus Malan- Led the team throughout the last World Cup without much success but he did record a notable victory against highly rated Newmanistan, and suffered only narrow defeats to teams in the top 25 in the world. Very defensive minded and his approach led the team to be nicknamed 'The Tortoises'.

Goalkeepers:
Terrence Ottbourne-No.1 38 years old and team captain, an agile ex-paratrooper. He led the team to victory in the BoF and kept a clean sheet until the quarter-final. Together with Aaron Yuill of Southern Cynocephali was the outstanding keeper of the tournament. Now plays in Kagdazka and Pazhujebu proffesionally. Getting on a bit now, but still a force to be reckoned with.
Frank Burnden-No.67 42 year old veteran keeper, useful back up option. Will not expect to start but will most probably be on the bench to cover for the outstanding 'Super Terry' Ottbourne.
Peter Franks-No.41 23 year old rookie, first selection for the team. Missed out on going to the Di Bradini cup by 2 months, so will be hoping to play a few games to secure his position as long term successor to Ottbourne. May play in less crucial group games or when Kalumba are knocked out. Still strugging to fulfill his early potentiial.

Defenders:
LB-Derek Ward, 29 year old truck driver, stupid but effective No. 12 Recently banned from driving for Drink-Driving, will be hoping to secure a place at a foreign club team to provide him with an income.
LCB-Ronan Beardly, 33 year old, also Kalumba's golfing champion No. 14 Has suffered a nasty shoulder injury but should fit in time for the CoH.
LCB-Duncan Edward, 22 year old, pretty boy, but solid at the back No. 4 Recently married with a child will his mind be fully on the World Cup?
RCB-Klaus Van Harniggen, 24 year old, 6 foot 6, deadly in the air No. 6 Enrolled in a boxing program and has further added strength to his frame.
RCB-Norman Baker, 28 year old bank manager, great slide tackler No. 5 Castigated in the news for losing his bank a large amount of money speculating on the stock market, will try to rebuild his reputation.
RB-James Downs, 39 year old ex-rugpy prop forward, solid but no agility whatsoever No. 3 Recently dropped from his Rugby team so is looking to football for his wage.
RB-Frank Ruyten, 23 year old civil servant, very fast but poor crossing ability No. 19 Has worked on his crossing but still struggles to fulfill his promise as an attacking fullback.

Midfielders:
LM-Peter Kurtz, 25 year old full time proffesional footballer No. 21 Still struggling for form but has improved at the World Cup scoring twice and creating another couple for Kalumba.
LM-James Fish, 19 year old protege No. 9 Still a protege, retained for the first team instead of the U21s so Davies clearly intends to play him.
CM-Ollie Roberts, 24 year old model and dancing champion No. 18 First high profile homosexual in Kalumba. Has moved to Southern Cynocephali to play proffesionally and be open with his sexuality.
CM-Ben Rowlatt, 26 year old boxer No. 16 Robert's husband. Their relationship has caused problems in the team but after performances from them both helped to win the BoF are being more accepted.
CM -Oliver Dempster, 33 year old taxi driver No. 15 Recovering from shock after being mugged in his taxi, but will recieve the fans full support.
CAM -Ben Cheeter, 23 built like an arab donkey but with the shot of an angry mule No. 27 Didn't impress at either the BoF or the last WC but still integral to the team as he links the midfield to the strikers.
CDM- William Anderson, 37 year old Protestant Minister, couldn't tackle for toffee but aggrssive as the most violent phsycopath No. 17 Has toned down his aggression as he recieved a lot of yellow cards at the BoF and the last WC and was lucky not to be sent off.
RM-Chris Abouto, 23 year old sprinter, fast and can turn on a sixpence No. 33 A truly marvellous footballer, other than Ottbourne our player of the year. Scored many and set up more. Also rewarded with a move to proffesional football in K&P.
RW-Jermaine Filks, 33 year old great crosser of the ball No. 11 Due to Abouto's excellence has yet to feature but has worked on his left sided play in hope of getting a starting position.

Strikers:
RS- Roland Grezlak, 28 year old, 6 foot strong as an ox No. 8 Came on to score many a crucial goal, will be looking for me involvment this time round.
RS- Anthony Peters, 23 year old, youngster but top scorer last season No. 99 Barely featured but did score our second goal in the BoF final. Will be looking to break into the team on a regular basis.
LS-James Malone, 36 year old, seasoned veteran No. 21 Struggled for form and not likely to feature here unless there is a major injury crisis.
CF- Kevin Davis, 34 year old, ex-heavyweight champion boxer No. 10 Another key player. His goals and hold up play won Kalumba many games and will be hoping to continue his wonderful form and impress at this World Cup which may be his last.
CF- Craig Garden, 28 year old, reliable but not much skill No. 93 Another non-starter and like Malone will struggle to record a further cap to his collection of seven.
