Norrion Rovers' first outing in the premier international club football competition in seven domestic seasons (probably ten or so internationally) went better than it did last time around, beating out Pays de Croix from Saugeais with an emphatic 3-0 home victory in the lowest seeded Non-Champions match of the TQCC, before succumbing quite easily to Reinheim Metro of United Gordonopia in the next round, before losing out in extra time of the second leg to Qidade Savana of Jasiyun in the Qualifying stage. Nonetheless, they'll be looking to improve on that performance, which meant securing at least another second place in the coming season. Meanwhile, VLC FC did themselves proud, winning two rounds of the Globe Cup before falling in the Eliminatory Stage 9-1 to Golden Phoenix of Mapletish. Royal Jam FC got to the same round, while UR Town were embarrassingly eliminated in the first round. RGS Athletic, on the other hand, lived up to their reputation as the best EL team, achieving third in the group stage of the TQCC, before being eliminated by Stirvik TU of Earent in the first knockout round of the GC. Deserving of a mention are Polkation FC, who managed a decent international performance to come third in their SBCC group.

As for the new season itself, with first place assumed to belong to RGS Athletic, all neutral eyes were on the second place spot, the spot for TQCC qualification, with Norrion Rovers, VLC FC and UR Town all looking for qualification, alongside any other teams who could find themselves lucky.

15 Polkation FC 30 7 10 13 17 29 -12 31 R
16 Olympia FC 30 6 11 13 38 49 -11 29 R

Well, with a ratio of 3 goals for to 0.9 goals against per game, it's quite astonishing that RGS Athletic couldn't beat their own point tally from a couple of seasons ago of 73, somehow managing to lose and draw one more match than in that season. Nonetheless, it was yet another emphatic season, as indicated by the goal haul and the 15 point differential between them and second placed Norrion Rovers. And as for the second place battle, Norrion had that edge that kept them ahead of the other two for most of the season, and despite the higher hit rate of UR Town, it was the head-to-head tiebreaker that allowed VLC FC to climb yet another place in the table compared to last season, which means that at this rate, they'll be champions season after next. And it wouldn't be surprising, with the best defence in the division (best defence this season, however, goes to Gilgonare FC in the Imperial First Division, who inexplicably managed to get 60 while scoring less than a goal per game, whilst conceding just ten in the whole season; with two, they managed the least losses as well).
FM Town managed to bounce back from the slide down the table, finishing fifth with a three point clearance over Nile Bridge, and with Globe Cup qualification to boot. Moving towards the heartbreaking end of the table, Olympia FC have finally succumbed to relegation, although it's been coming for a long time. Of last season's promotees, Yillog City and Polkation FC go straight back down, while NT United finish a decent 8th.

Second Division Standings

2 YLW FC 30 18 5 7 67 35 +32 59 P/SBCC

15 Honsadin FC 30 5 13 12 19 37 -18 28 R(C)
16 Indionion Athletic 30 5 10 15 20 35 -15 25 R(I)

Half Boy FC and Xilon OC both return to the top flight after relegation two seasons ago, with Half Boy rather surprisingly topping the table, having finished 7th the previous season, while Xilon OC were a point off promotion last time round. This time around, they enact the same punishment on another just relegated team, Lodgertia United, who on the last day failed to capitalize on Xilon OC's loss to the already relegated Honsadin FC, losing 2-0 at home to pseudo-rivals Port Lodgertia. As for the other two relegated teams of last season, one gets to bounce back in the form of YLW FC, whereas the other one ended up falling further again, as Honsadin FC. Interestingly, this is the first season where only two teams have been relegated from this division, as before the bottom two have both been from the same side of the pyramid, not different sides.

V-League: 36th Season Tropical Trophy
(Note: The Tropical Trophy is a seasonal competition between the Vilitan Stellar Division Champions and Vilitan Cup Champions. There has been some controversy as to whether it is a "Season Ending" event or a "Season beginning" event, though it has tended to be closer to the start of the new season, then the end of the previous one. For this seasons Tropical Trophy, The V-League Stellar Division and Cup Champions (Turoki Tide) were invited to face off against the Vilitan League Runners-Up and top Turorian Team (Mliona-Lpaka FC) in a Vilita v. Turori clash.

Turoki Tide [3-5-2] ::
[GK] Hooizo Nuakoi (TUR), [D] Uajiala Pulkki (VIL), [D] Lioniaa Tana (VIL), [D] Atroi Adami, [M] Cassiano Polanco (OSD), [M] Caii Uttin, [M] Michael Coburn (LIV), [M] Rexii Tzikas (VIL), [M] Riksa Valjariia (VIL), [F] Truls Waaserson (SVG) [F] Actalia Mermaioada,

Mliona-Lpaka FC [3-4-3] ::
[GK] Jawz Tiiaupila (VIL) , [D] Leii Danias, [D] Lari Rayamahi, [D] Russi Zakoli, [M] Bisi Hattu, [M] Manolis Kontalroma (VIL), [M] JD Fuller (VIL), [M] Jomur Hulyer (VIL), [F] Liam Hullioao, [F] Ceri Sabilli, [F] Aimee Irin'Lur (ASV)

Turorian referee Tuaoko Vumaou was called upon to officiate the match for the third consecutive season.

It didn't take long for the defending Stellar Division and UICA Champions Cup winners to emphasize their standing over their Turorian counterparts. Just 3 minutes into the match, Vilitan National Team midfielder Rexii Tzikas lit up the Tivali Ring Stadium with a stunning 30 yard strike that left a lot to desire from Jawz Tiiaupila in the Mliona-Lpaka net.

The Turorian's were not going down so quickly however, JD Fuller equalized 5 minutes later and Ceri Sabilli put Mliona-Lpaka in an early position to claim the first major silverware in club history and the opportunity to bring the Tropical Trophy back to Turori for the first time in the long history of the competition.

Turori National Goalkeepers Hooizo Nuakoi was called into action time after time as Mliona-Lpaka continued to apply the pressure as they searched for the killer third goal that could deflate the UICA Champions enough to give them some breathing room. The score remained 2-1 in favor of Mliona-Lpaka at the half.

Nuakoi was asked to do even more in the second half but continued to be equal to the task keeping the Tide in the match as Mliona-Lpaka looked the better side for long stretches of play, indicating the possibility that they will be very strong in the upcoming Vilitan League season.

Nuakoi did all he could to keep the Tide in the match but the offense didn't help at all and referee Vumaou blew the final whistle bringing the Tropical Trophy to his native Turori for the first time in history in the arms of Mliona-Lpaka and their Vilitan captain Jawz Tiiaupila.

Statwise:
:: This is Mliona Lpaka's 1st Tropical Trophy Victory in their 1st appearance.
:: This is the 1st Tropical Trophy Victory by a team from Turori in 4 appearances.
:: This is Strike FC's 2nd Tropical Trophy Defeat in 4 Appearances.
:: This is the 6th consecutive Tropical Trophy competition without a repeat winner, the longest such streak in competition history
:: This is the 4th Tropical Trophy that has ended in a 2-1 Scoreline [Kiiarana v. Strike, S31; Turoki Tide v. Strike, S30; Eastal Lunar v. Strike, S25]

* The modern Era is defined as all seasons from Season 26 on. Seasons 1-25 are the 'classic era'.

Tropical Trophy Host Site:

Tivali Ring Stadium - Alikki-Corra, Vilita (87,000 Capacity)
The Football Association of Vilita is based at the Tivali-Ring Stadium in the capital city of Alikki-Corra, Vilita and many National Team training sessions take place on the grounds of the Tivali Ring. The Football Association regularly schedule matches at arenas throughout Vilita, especially bigger matches as many of the stadiums that host Stellar Division and UICA competition matches have expanded far beyond the capacity of the National Stadium at Tivali Ring, which is used only for the National Team, and, for the Vilitan Cup Final and Tropical Trophy matchup. In addition to its World Cup matches, 'The Ring' hosted the 40th UICA Series 'B' Champions Cup Final. The stadium was constructed as part of the Vilitan bid to host the World Cup 14 Cup of Harmony as a replacement to the former National Stadium in Lopinka that was destroyed during a regional conflict.

Ahead of season six of of the Liventia–Ad’ihan Professional Football League, the league's 106 member clubs from Liventia and Ad’ihan voted by 77 to 29 to alter the league's structure from season seven. Four clubs will be added to the Premier League to make 40 across two divisions of 20 each, while the remaining 66 teams will form three uniform tiers of 22 each. As a result, the following changes applied during season six:
- Only one team relegated from the B Premier League
- Five teams promoted from the First Division
- Only two teams relegated from the First Division
- Six teams promoted from the Second Division
- Only three teams relegated from the Second Division

The tiebreakers across all five divisions of the LAPFL are constant: head-to-head results, head-to-head goal difference, goal difference, head-to-head goals scored, goals scored, head-to-head away goals, away goals, wins.

The top five teams in the A Premier League qualify for international tournaments, with the two respective national champions qualifying for the Champions’ Cup and the next three teams for the Globe Cup. The top four teams from the B Premier League qualify for the Series B Cup.

LAPFL Season 6
Premier League
Navon Beach continued their impressive domination of the league – season 4 aside – by winning their third title in four seasons ahead of Mountbatten Junction for an Ad’ihani one-two. Defending Liventian champions Orean United limped home in sixth outside the international competition spots, surrendering their title to Talbott who finished in third but qualified for the Champions’ Cup anyway as the highest-placed Liventian team. Talbott were arguably the surprise package, having placed eighth, 12th and 14th in the last three seasons. The bottom four happened to include two Liventian and two Ad’ihani teams and were thus all relegated, as Flitton Rangers and Kinney Road (ADN) and Folenisa and Wakefield (LEN) were condemned to the second tier. Perhaps surprisingly, Ad’ihani big names Oldbridge City and Protectorate United escaped the drop by three and two points respectively.

The B Premier League, meanwhile, was won by Army United in style, as the perennial mid-table dwellers finished 14 points clear of Dover City in second place. The two Liventian teams were joined in promotion by Pilminster Rovers and South Point, both making a return to the top flight for the first time since the LAPFL was founded. At the wrong end of the Premier League, the Oldbridge Sabres were the only team to suffer relegation ahead of next season's new format.

Equestrian States (EQS) Final Site Bids
Globe Cup 43: Elements Stadium, Ponyville (capacity 48,750)
One of the newer stadiums in the Equestrian States, Elements Stadium is named after the Elements of Harmony, which are the guiding principles of the majority faith of the nation: Harmonism. Ponyville still has a small town feel about it, despite its rapidly growing size, thanks largely to the preservation of the traditional Equestrian town buildings in the Old Town district of the city. Elements Stadium is located near the city’s center, along the Mane River, and is home to the current Equestrian Premier League champions: Ponyville United.

Although previously capable of seating only 42,750 fans, Elements Stadium was recently expanded to its current size for the express purpose of hosting international competitions in the future. Additionally, the city itself is currently expanding its hotel capacities to accommodate the wave of fans expected when nearby Ponyville Park hosts several games in the upcoming World Baseball Classic, which the Equestrian States recently won the right to host.

Western Cuba Transfer Wire
Western Cuban Football Association

Image

Several high profile Western Cuban soccer players are available for signing and will be instantly moved to the respective club which they sign with. (Note, almost all of these players want or need to get out of Western Cuba due to persecution and other issues. All of the players have some sort of problem with the government which has overthrown the Republic and wish to play outside of the country. More descriptions about each player will be listed below. If you have any questions or interest, please tg me.

Defender:

Patricio Posas: Could be a potential steal, Posas has great potential but has been lagging with injuries throughout his tenure with the national team. When fully healthy, Posas has proved to be a legitimate starting defender for any above-average soccer club.

Posas has the chance of being a bargain as well for his first few years on contract. With his injury factor being included, Posas can be signed for a low-risk low money deal. Which could pay off highly for a team in the future.

Midfielders:

Alberto Perez: One of the more former experienced members of the national team, Perez has fallen victim to his ethnicity, much like the rest of the club. Remaining unattached since before the last world cup, Perez has found himself without a job.

While getting on with age, Perez offers himself as a mentor to any young team looking for leadership in the midfield on the pitch.

Vincent De Santa: One of the brightest midfield players on the national team before the brutal government change. De Santa found himself as a huge candidate for the future of soccer in Western Cuba.

De Santa's vision, agility, and awareness on the pitch make him a very solid player for any team. Vincent has the potential to prove to be the bright future for any club willing to sign him.

Forwards:

Tom Dawson: Unlike his fellow teammates, Dawson was not persecuted due to being Cuban but instead being Britannian, which is far worse of a fate if he stayed put in Western Cuba. Beating out Ricardo Calderon for the former spot as a winger on the national team, Dawson continued to put up consistent numbers alongside Tito Moreno. Now, only Moreno remains on the national team.

While not a goal scoring machine, Dawson has shown himself to be the player that sets up everything on the field. Leading the national team in assists in the last calender year, Dawson hopes to bring this to a top-tier international club league.

Konstantin Yevtushenko: Konstantin had the opportunity to stay on the national team, and the new manager was clearly interested in holding onto him. However though, disgusted about the unjust dismissing of his fellow teammates departed he international team and his club team in Western Cuba.

Konstantin, like the many other players looking for a new club seeks to play international club soccer as long as the current government stays in power. Yevtushenko's main weakness is the lacking power of his left foot. However he makes up for this with his increasingly powerful right foot.

Having battled through injuries to make it back to the national team, Konstantin has proved himself as a hard worker and will only improve with the next club he signs with.
Now known as the Technological State of Adros, the successor state of Western Cuba

CST Junior Football League 1098-99

Despite thawing relations between the two Charmunnry football associations the split remains in place. Such has been the damage caused by the division that Ancharmunn was not represented at all in World Cup 63. As such both associations have been left to stake their claim for legitimacy through club football.

The Junior League, the Cumann Sacaar an Tearmann run league (recognised by UICA as An Tearmann) is split into two divisions on a north-south basis. Traditionally each division is nine strong, however the Southern division has for the last couple of years been reduced to eight teams due to the absence of Civil Service. However the newly founded Cloaghtara have been brought in as a replacement and make the league eighteen strong once again. The teams who top the two divisions playoff to decide the overall winner of the league (and the league's Champions' Cup representative), whilst the two second placed teams play off to decide the leagues final Globe Cup entrant (the other two places having gone to the Junior Cup winner and champions play off loser).

The 1098-99 season marks the 25th season of organised football within Ancharmunn and whilst such a milestone might normally be cause for celebration Charmunnry football is instead battling itself. Whilst the split between two associations which has seen Ancharmunn thrown out of the World Cup looks to be abating many are still worried at just what the final outcome of it will be. Also putting a downer on any silver anniversary celebrations is the continued saga over the home of the two Ballymairead teams. Whilst both clubs and their supporters wish to remain at the shared Old Chicken Ranch authorities appear insistent that they take up tenancy in the vastly oversized Páirc Mairéad. Latest rumours have the local council prepared to go as far as issuing a compulsory purchase order on the Old Chicken Ranch in order to evict the two clubs from the ground.

Tyneala Championship

By now the Tyneala Championship has sealed it's place as the transnational curtain raiser of both the Charmunnry and Aelsh football seasons. Part of the tradition around the game appears to have become that the Aelsh representatives shall win. Despite both sides making their maiden Championship appearance that particular tradition was retained.

Red Star 0–1 Doverston

National Soccer League

As part of the marketing prattle for the 25th season the National Soccer League made much about it's supposed status as the best source for unscripted drama in Ancharmunn. It proved to be rather prescient as the season came down to a climax far too dramatic for any scriptwriter to put together and claim with a straight face to be anything other than clichéd.

Two of the country's biggest teams in with a chance of the title on the final day? Check.
Those two teams level on points going into the final match? Check.
Those two teams level on goal difference going into the final day? Check.
Those two teams playing each other in the final match? Check again.

That was exactly the ready made for Ballywood scenario that Ballymairead Town and Goidelic played out in what could well be the final match at the Old Chicken Ranch. A better attacking impetus over the course of the season had Goidelic go in with the very slight advantage. They only needed a draw, but then Ballymairead Town had home advantage and the rousing backing of a partisan crowd behind them. Throughout the country one and all were glued to their television, minute by minute internet updates, radios, or whatever could be used to keep them updated. The other six matches served not even as undercard events, they were simply non-events that would be forgotten with the hour as Ancharmunn dissected the closest title battle it had ever seen.

In something of their reversal of their normal style Goidelic sat back from kick-off needing just a draw, Town meanwhile attacked from the very first whistle. Each and every moment had those following the action utterly gripped. With just over twenty-five minutes gone Shaun Donnelly secured the breakthrough for Town as he powered home a header from a free-kick swung tantalisingly into the Goidelic box. It was nothing less than deserved at that point and such was Town's domination of the match until then that many were already declaring them champions elect. By the time the second-half was underway the early shoots of a Town flavoured party were emerging. Goidelic though are a team that has gathered the know how of how to win in recent years and now needing a goal more and more by the minute began to take a hold of the game and by the time Valladar striker Thomas Hunt powered home a long range equaliser on the 67 minute mark an air of nervousness had encased the Old Chicken Ranch. From there the match became reminiscent of a training ground attack vs. defence exercise. Town poured men forward to the extent of their keeper spending more time closer to the Goidelic half than his own goal, whilst Goidelic sat back far enough for Hunt to barely bother a blade of grass in the Town half after his goal.

Somehow it was the men in green and white hoops who held out at the hands of one of the most fearsome sieges surely seen in Ancharmunn's history. For the 13th time Goidelic were declared champions of Ancharmunn. Even before the first of next season's friendlies have kicked off the manner in which they did so has already gone down in the folklore of Ancharmunn's history.

All-Ancharmunn Challenge Cup

That the Challenge Cup remains a reduced competition with the Junior League sides still missing was something of a disappointment in the 25th season. However the prospect of a Goidelic - Atlético Cabañas was one that went some way to making up for that. Whilst Atlético Cabañas only have one Challenge Cup to their name they were nonetheless the name primarily associated with the tournament in the immediate aftermath of it's inception. They were there in each of the first three finals, and their sole cup victory to date came in the third final, against Goidelic. This season's finale then was a rematch of the 1076-77 season and was previewed as one of the most eagerly anticipated finals since. In the event a one sided victory for Atlético Cabañas turned pre-match exceptions in hyperbole. Given the intensity of the previous week's league conclusion however most were able to forgive Goidelic a sluggish display.

The West Zirconian National League:

The one question pretty much everyone was asking in Division One was: Whatever happened to Banks? The perennial contenders, winners of the first eight Division One titles, the greatest team in West Zirconian football, were struggling. By half-way in the campaign, they were closer to the bottom than the top of the table - 13th to be precise, below such footballing powerhouses as Redwood Forest and Hyland Town. Their only consolation was that their city rivals (Broxton and Marrs Hill, for those who haven't been paying attention) were struggling even more, lying third from bottom.

Now at this stage you're expecting me to say that the Riversiders rallied in the second half season to secure a global qualification place at the very least.

They didn't.

It was Mort Park who ran away with the title, clinched in the same penultimate round that saw Banks beaten 3-2 at Broxton. They eventually finished tenth. Brock did enough to survive, while Elwell didn't.

Division Two was a lot closer to call, though it was a surprise to see East Snaith at the foot of the table almost from the word go. However, the other Snaith side in the division, West Coast Angels, were battling at the top of the table, challenged by New Toronto.

In the end, both teams were surprised by Heppenstall Town, who overtook them both and won the league comfortably. West Coast Angels held on for second, ensuring that the two Snaith teams went in opposite directions.

Division Three North was a three-team race from early on, with Culshaw, Kingsley and Oglesby fighting it out between them. However, just as in Division Two an unlikely contender arrived and overtook everyone. This time, to complete the trio of Snaith team movements, it was St. Andrew's who were promoted. It was less of a happy season for the football fans of Anderton, as the two teams finished in the bottom two places.

Division Three South was the only one where the title was decided on the last day. It was between Hilton Athletic and Gormley Town, who were both on the same points - with Hilton's goal difference being superior. Gormley were at home to Shrigley, while Hilton were away at Walton.

The final results:

Gormley Town 2-0 Shrigley Town
Walton 5-4 Hilton Athletic

giving Gormley the title.

Champions Cup Hosting Bid
Bastion Arena

After it successfuly hosted the final of the 36th Globe Cup, the Bastion Arena is once again to host a significant UICA competition final. The occasion had gone swimmingly and it was a proud moment for Eura, which stood tall as it hosted one of the great UICA finals.

The stadium has not changed much since the last final, and so a similar description will be given as was given for that bid. Transport is very good in the area, with many well maintained main roads around it and plentiful parking. Memorial Hill International Airport is nearby, one of Bastion's four international airports. There will be an extensive park and ride system in place and a special temporary train schedule will be sorted out to allow for quick transit to the stadium. The stadium itself has a capacity of 98,000, and is specifically designed to maximise the amount of playing area available and the visibility of the event to fans. It has world class catering and facilities throughout the ground, as well as 5,000 executive seats and boxes for various VIP's and sporting agencies.

The stadium has a very high quality pitch with an undersoil heating and multi-event capability system, allowing it to be quickly modified for multiple sports - but it serves best as a football pitch, a large one, allowing free flowing, attacking and hopefully injury free play. It also has extensive safety procedures and a government enforced minimum of stewards per game, making it one of the safest grounds in the world. After an incident in a World Cup qualifier between Eura and West Angola, there will be armed police on standby in case of emergencies. However, its atmosphere is perhaps it’s greatest quality. This stadium concentrates the noise of fans into a passionate atmosphere with its state of the art architecture, which is matched by an impressive lighting and audio suite and large interactive scoreboards.

While UICA officials will of course conduct the ceremonies associated with any of these finals, the FSSOFA insist a Euran military ceremonial unit will once again give a guard of honour to the players along with UICA and FSSOFA mascots, and before the game the national anthem of mother Eura will briefly be played. Seating allocation will be the same as on the last occasion, apart from a few small adjustments:

- 37,500 seats for both sets of fans. (75,000 over all.) The two sections of fans will be segregated – one half of the stadium for one set of fans, the other half for the opposition fans.
- 17,500 seats for neutral supporters, 12,500 of which will be guaranteed for FSSO citizens.
- 5,000 executive seats for dignitaries and VIP’s, which will be divided appropriately amongst the clubs and other groups.
- 500 seats to remain empty to divide segregated fan sections.

After this success, the FSSOFA, Bastion Football Club, B-Arena PLC and the Ministry of Sport are all convinced Bastion is ready to host the greatest final of them all; the final of the Champions Cup.

Yet another thrilling finish rounds out the landmark 30th Season of the Falconwhereveryouare Primary League. The standings going into Matchday Twenty-Two indicated that five teams were technically in with a shout for the Championship; realistically, only four, but that's still a mad dash for the top spot. Nestingham, after having a charicteristaclly bad start, rebounded tremenoundously to hold the top spot; they only needed a draw with Umber FC to assure their victory. A massive thunderstorm brewed a little after half-time, however, and the game was delayed with da Bears leading 1-0 off of an early Chester Highfield strike. The game would resume four hours later, after the rest of the games wrapped up, so we'll get to that later. The first match to hit full time was Umber Lumber being thrawted by the Audioslavians of Reedring, Matías Garrastazu dashing the Lumberjack's championship hopes with a beautiful shot to cap off one of their trademark counter-attacks. Next was Marriet confirming the Seamen's unfortunate title of "worst single-season performance ever," Aukusti Regenbogen's corner conversion being the only goal of the affair and the 70th that had gotten by Sheaver's keepers--primarily the 39-year-old Walter Baynes. Marriet finished wonderfully, securing a solid sixth straight after getting back into the Primary League, utilizing their amazing backs and star keeper--the sentient Trapezoid from Azox--to have conceded the second-lowest amount of goals, though also scoring the second-fewest goals. A little to the northeast, Lywik jumped into contention as Finnbjörn Finnbjörnsson put one past stop-gap Kalta keeper Vladlen Zolnerowich, who didn't do terrible in his rookie season. Kalta, after their exodus of talent in the offseason, just couldn't put things together like they did last season.

Then things got interesting. An early goal courtesy of Zdenko Aleshire put the Wingers up over Helving in the new Golden Nest, while Wingipeg FC had fallen behind Winterfell thanks to the quick feet of Ned Landis. The way things were panning out, it seemed like the Wingers--touted as the favorites for the Championship--were about leap ahead and box out their intra-city rivals, who were expected to be a bottom-half team. Nevil Nowak tried some last-minute heroics to try and at least get the draw; on 37 points, los Azules would have been able to edge by Lumber via goal difference. But Randall Ladd held strong between the posts, and Wingipeg FC was thumped out of a Globe Cup spot. Now, it was just a matter of... who would take the Championship? As it stood after play ended in the Golden Nest, the Wingers were ahead of Nestingham by goal differential and the Thrashers were losing through the rain delay. When the storm finally cleared, everyone in The Krast knew exactly what the situation was. Umber FC had nothing to play for--they were guarunteed eighth place no matter the result of the match--while Perry Dempsy and Myles Marrero were playing for everything. Both veteran forwards played their hearts out, aided by the young spark of Euran Glenn Anderson--who got the assist on both the equalizer (Marrero) and the winner (Dempsy).

Falconwhereveryouare (FWH) final site bids
Globe Cup 43: The Golden Nest, Wingipeg (capacity 35,000)
The brand-new home of the Wingipeg Wingers built for Falconwhereveryouare's failed Copa Rushmori bid. The state-of-the-art open-top steel construction is located in the city's largest greenbelt, the metal underworking camouflaged by intricate wordwork that covers the surface and almost makes it blend into the scenery. "Almost" being the operative word: streaks of gold accentwork give the stadium its flamboyant name.

Series B Champions’ Cup 43: The Krast (capacity 21,000)
Nestingham FC's historic home, nestled into the base of a cliff. The eastern seats are carved right into the cliff face (portable seat cushions are available for free, of course) and the three-siding building that surrounds the pitch was built with the rock quarried from the cliff to make the first set of seats. The city and team have been resisting the demands for seating expansions to suit a more mainstream and worldly team, partially to maintain the close feel and partially because it'd be a pain to move the rock walls back.

Valladares (VLD) final site bids

Globe Cup: Dragon Stadium, Canalave (Cap. 50,987)

Despite not counting with the endorsement of the Valladar Football Association for this bid, both the Mayoralty of Canalave and the Executive Board of Canalave Dragons Football Club wish to put Dragon Stadium to the consideration of the UICA Selection Committee as a potential venue for the next Globe Cup final.

Located to the east of the city of Canalave, in the Trefford neighbourhood, 15 minutes away from the city centre, and mostly known for being the venue for the Canalave Crown match, this stadium was built in 1993 and initially seated 35,000 fans, however, it was unpopular among Canalave Dragons' fans and football fans in general due to its shape and the fact that the stands were too far from the field, hence failing to create an ideal atmosphere for the game. Currently it is undergoing remodeling works which will bring the stands closer to the pitch and will also replace the old bowl-shaped stands by four rectangular, all-seated stands, increasing the stadium's capacity from 35,000 to 50,987 in the process.

Pre-Season 11 Transfers

A summer of remarkable excitement in the domestic transfer market following Ulsa's stunning league/cup double followed by the FSSO's disappointing World Cup performance has given way to the beginnings of the new season. The cash was really splashed this summer; the key transfers listed here alone have combined transfer fees amounting to £101.5 million. First however, retirements. Steve Thompson shocked everyone by not retiring, suggesting he wanted to stay on for one more year to mentor his Mytanar replacement Iuliu Zapatic
and provide extra firepower for club and country; despite the retirement of national team manager Ben Randall. However, three FSSO legends have all hung up their boots over the summer. It started with Scott Daley who finally announced his retirement at the age of 37 after a prestigious career for club and country, followed a few days later by consummate professional and former FSSO vice captain Mike Humphrey; the defender handed in his notice at Bastion, at the age of 36, after a career spanning two decades. Meanwhile another Euran defender, Grant Davis, finally called time on his career. After leaving Ulsa and missing their double, much to his distress, he was consoled by a strong final season at Workers Union, where his defensive work at the age of 40 kept them in the Gold League. 'Captain Crock', notorious for his no nonsense approach to the game, will be sorely missed. Other retirements included prolific Euran domestic strikers Ben Quinn (Who never really kicked off internationally) and Rob Spider, Sameban Fashek Currov and Camwoodian Michael Cook.

As for transfers, the real 'big one' of the summer was the purchase of 26 year old Saugeais international goalkeeper Vincent James by Spartangrad for £15m. It has been seen by some as a risky move; 'The Last Erathorian' Antonio Marino, who has been so key for Spartangrad in the past few seasons, has been deposed by this expensive signing and offloaded to newly promoted Usmer in a remarkable £8.8m move. Usmer have spent heavily now they finally return to the top flight, with new financial backing and their debts cleared from the last disaster allowing them to re consolidate. They spent £15.7m collectively on foreigners Alperen de Kleijn, Suleyman von Rossen and Berardo do Luca as well as Mytanar defender Paavo Wuopio on a free and experienced Euran fullback Simon Rose for £1m. The aforementioned Spartangrad made two other important signings, bringing in Silver League Player of the Year for last season Grant Townsend from Hammersbridge for just £1.5m. They rubbed salt into the wounds of Honeybadgers, bringing in 17 year old sensation Mike Adams, the right winger who scored 19 goals in 29 league games in Farfdallis last season. It cost them £5.4m to bring in a player Honeybadgers let Feardallis Wanderers have for free as part of the ill fated Val Kylx deal. On the topic of Kylx, his time in FSSO is at an end. After scoring only 12 league goals in two seasons at Honeybadgers, the £20m Slembanan striker has been offloaded to Royal Rumatazi of Astograth for half of that price.

Two very big signings were made in Iuliu Zapatic and Daley Hart. Zapatic comes to Ulsa for £10m not only to help solidify Ulsa's central midfield for their title defence, but as a long term replacement for Steve Thompson. Hart comes from Pays de Croix in Saugeais to Bastion for a whopping £11m even at the age of 29, but looks like he will fill in the gap left by Mike Humphrey nicely for a few years. Djourou Calaga and Andy Quinn have become the first capped FSSO players to leave the country for a couple of seasons - Calaga completed a high profile £7.5m move to United Gordonopia's Kaje Football, while Atletik Thessia (A club with many connections to Euran football) have brought in Quinn from Workers Union dirt cheap for £2m. Holdenberg meanwhile look like a growing force in midtable, bringing in Seryou Kobe from Ulsa Rovers and Fernando Valdez from Dartmoor over the summer in the hopes of joining Honeybadgers, Lajuno, Farrenton and Brigham in the group of upper-mid table clubs aiming to break up the Big Five.

The second season kicks off with little fanfare as it appears not much different than last year. It has appeared on NS for just two times now, but as the league has existed for many years, the existence within this realm is nothing to be celebrated. Nevertheless, it is presented.

Gordonopia Premier League
2018 GPL Review

Another year of the GPL has come and gone. Now is the time to reflect.

Last year, fans of Reinheim Metro celebrated the fact that their team was the first in several years to win a title without being named FC Deska or Kaje Football. This year, the two powerhouses were entirely absent from both the regular season and the Gordonopia Cup podium. While they managed second and third respectively in the regular season, a Basin Plain squad came out of nowhere to usurp the regular season title. In the Cup, Kaje managed a fourth place finish, but Deska found itself outside of the top three for the first time. Teva FC, long one of the strongest teams in the league, won its first major title in the GPL era with its Cup win.

Several milestones were crossed this season. In their first regular season match, FC Deska became the first team to win 100 GPL season games. By the end, they were joined by Kaje Football and Teva FC. Kaje Football came agonizingly close to becoming the first team to score 500 goals, with 499 at the end of week 34. Every surviving inaugural team has now made it to the Gordonopia Cup, thanks to Union Holiday's miraculous season, driven by a quintet of recent Academy graduates that drove the team to qualify for its first cup, where they ultimately came in second.

Sporting Fusba will join the GPL, giving the Fusba metro area, the nation's fourth largest, its first GPL team since Fusba United was relegated in 2016. FC Gordonopia City will rejoin the league after being relegated in 2015, making it the third capital metro area team currently in the league. The two will take the places of Bellum Neu and Riverside Works.
