Hilshore claimed a fourth title in a row, whilst the four entrants for the World Club Handball Championship will be the same last season, with two from Aels and two from Ancharmunn. The last Charmunnry team to win the title before Hilshore's current streak, Sayercooan Sasanachs at least overhauled Penfro to claim a runners-up spot for Ancharmunn. They were also only marginally away from claiming the title finishing level on points with Hilshore and with a better goal difference. However head to head records come before goal difference and it was here that the Aelsh side overcame the Sasanachs, with two wins and a draw in their four meetings over the course of the season.

World Club Handball Championship qualifiers
Hilshore
Sayercooan Sasanchs
Ballyfeeaknock Capitals
Penfro
(The poster behind this will be either Aels or Ancharmunn—if in doubt, please ask.)

* In the PS, games credited to "Ontario" were actually contested by
Norwalk after an administrative error by the Handball League resulted
in Ontario accidentally being kept in the Elite Series while Norwalk were
denied their rightful position in the ES. As neither team made the

pay as far as the HL were involved, the error has been rectified
going forward with no further intervention necessary.

The Califas teams in WCHC 4: their paths to international competition

4. El Monte
ImageWon WCHC 2

After usurping the handball crown in WCHC 2, El Monte missed the HL playoffs and entered WCHC 3 solely in defense of their name. They did excel in the group stage there, only to fall by two goals to an old ally in FSC military history. This time, their 13-3-6 record in the league was tied for first, and they lost the pennant on tiebreakers. They ended up in fourth place with a 13-3-9 record after the playoffs, though.

3. Palmdale
After cracking the Professional Series in HL1 and then needing a relegation playoff to stay in the top flight--which they won handily, humbling Chula Vista 32-19 in a sign of things to come--Palmdale was considerably more successful in HL2. After going 11-4-7 in the regular season, Palmdale beat Chula Vista again, this time in the professional semifinal, before losing 22-29 to Santa Clarita in a county derby of a final. They entered the WCHC 3 preliminary round and were gunned down there by Brham 88 of Darmen.

2. Fontana
After dominating in the HL1 regular season, Fontana fell to South San Diego by two goals in the semifinal and missed the WCHC. They were less impressive in HL2, going 7-7-8 and landing in the low mid-table. In their return to international competition, Fontana could go far but do not face the pressure of high expectations in South Califas.

1. South San Diego
ImageImageSecond HL championship

Outshined by LA's El Monte neighborhood team in international competition, South San Diego has always seemed to have the better of them in the Handball League. Snatching the HL crown for the second time in the league's three years, South SD are clearly the top dog and will have a target on their backs in HL 4 and onward. It remains to be seen whether they can truly make their mark on the world handball scene, though their comeback is remarkable after escaping relegation by just one goal in HL 2 (and of course, missing the WCHC).

Finally, after years of regional leagues, tournaments and wild Cupcompetions of different Federations, the President of Kriegiersien (KGS) convinced some Foodcompanies to organize and sponsor a professional league, to be able to participate in the WCHC. The Handballdivison of his own team won the title, also accusation of fixing was never silenced.
The other "Amateurteams" playing for the Presidents Cup had lost many good players to the new Franchises and its winner, the old traditional club SC Schoenwetter, wasn't granted a place in the WCHC. Many fans still prefer these older teams and the competitions they play in.

Like last season, Ko-oren North University seized the championship in Ko-orenite handball. Though the difference between them and then-number-two Ko-oren Central University was 19 points, that was only two points this time around. Furthermore, they went back from 139 points to 120 total. Their entire production of goals went up from 1610 to 1613, still.
Senoren City University climbed up from fifth place to second place, which is a sign that their policy is starting to work. All of the Ko-oren something University teams are from the capital and therefore their pool of people to work with is, in the end, smaller than other teams. They buy players, whereas Senoren tries to do it with people that are close by, also given that Senoren is not a very large city.
Ko-oren East University came from a seventh place last year, and since then they have improved with a few new players and more money in the system. They are now the second team out of all Ko-oren city teams (six in total, of which five ended in the top 15).

Then Hogone Capital University. Based in Sepo, Hogone, they are the second most remote team of the league, but something special happens there. Although they fell back from third to fourth since last season, the rest of the league and the entire sports world of Ko-oren will see them as the first ever winners of an international club competition: they are this season's winners of the WCHC!

They first faced Sicoutimont's Arbreville Jonglechat, which they beat over two matches (winning both home and away). At this point, Ko-oren Central University was eliminated by Rouen (56-55!). Tangku South University had been eliminated for a while, losing against Taeshan's Hannah Hollies 52-51 (which is another 1 goal difference loss!).
KHL's champions Ko-oren North University (KNU) were in the group stage together with HCU. KNU ended up getting only one victory, against Ile Perrot Epee. All other five matches were losses. HCU did a lot better, with 3-0-3. This might only be worth nine points, but it was enough to move on to the Quarterfinals. Here they beat Free South Califas' El Monte (47-45, so relatively that is a large margin. Two points this time, instead of only one). From here on out, the margins started increasing: Jaadlands from Polar Islandstates lost one and won one against HCU, but the aggregate was still 55-50. Lastly, in the final, Fadrön Fedoras from Taeshan was eliminated 32-21, the biggest win margin of any Ko-orenite team in the WCHC!

The deadline for entry to the 5th World Club Handball Championship is set at 18:00 UTC on Tuesday 12th March 2013.

Associations may submit up to four teams for the tournament, ideally with published standings from their most recent domestic season (exceptions may be granted in exceptional circumstances if an association has published standings within the last two WCHC cycles). Associations with participated in the previous tournament may submit a single venue to be considered for hosting the final of the upcoming tournament.

Anyone taking just a glance at this season's handball results in Tyneala would be forgiven for think that they are merely a republishing of last season's. Indeed, one might even be able to forgive someone taking more than just a mere glance for thinking that as not only do Hilshore retain the tag of Tynealan champions once again, but they will be joined in the World Club Handball Championship by the same three teams as last season. In the same order in fact. It wasn't just the top places that saw a staticness in placings either. No team moved more than a single position away from their finish of last season.

A reminder for this, there's about 19 hours until the set deadline, though I may extend the deadline by a couple of hours if anyone's in desperate need of them.

The moneyed Superligue is back, and entering WCHC teams for the first time. Handball Club Montréal were regular season champions as a result of a better head to head record against Atlético Elisabetano, despite having a poorer goal differential and being tied on points. Michel Robitaille again led the way for the champions, leading the league with 135 goals during the regular campaign. Hugo Robles of Atlético was trying to keep up all season, but just fell short much like his club, netting 133.

Kristján Svensson-Deslauriers, already a national teamer, is the breakout star of the season- winning League MVP honours for surprising Worcester, having really stepped up his defensive game and playing bigger than his size.

Things went south early on for Montréal Sasanachs, with Djibril Bourassa breaking his leg on opening day. His injury put a lot of pressure on Maelíosa Nic Rhaith, who was seemingly all alone all season.
