The Archregimancy WC62 Roster

First of all, everyone except newbies knows that the Archregimancy is a nation of Eastern Orthodox Christian monks from an alternate reality, right?

The Archregimancy's WC61 squad failed to either qualify for the World Cup or win the Cup of Harmony; this was considered a great success for monastic humility given the squad were ranked in the top 30, and went some way towards wiping the shame the Monastic Football Association felt for actually winning Cup of Harmony 52 (if only to protect Qazox - who continue to set an inspiring example of abject failure - from winning something themselves).

The MFA hope to continue in the same spirit by selecting a squad of otherworldly ascetic monks each characterised by behaviour which even your average Archregimancy monk might consider a little eccentric*.

They surely haven't a hope of winning anything.

Goal:
Fr. Ephraim the Grazer: When not playing football, Fr Ephraim goes down on all fours, and lives by grazing on grass among the beasts of the field.

Defence:
Fr. Mark the Hairy: Has never once cut his hair, which grows all over his body; he appears to many as one of the wild beasts of the mountains where his hermitage is located.
Fr. Symeon the Enchained: Carries heavy chains of iron all over his body to remind himself of the weight of his sins.
Fr. Evagrius the Imprisoned: Has (very) reluctantly left the cage in which he locked himself 20 subjective years ago; it's so small that he can neither stand up straight nor straighten his arms; he'll lock himself back in after every match.
Fr. Abramios the Recluse: Is so concerned about leaving his isolated desert hermitage that he will wear a sack over his head so as to avoid others recognising him.

Midfield:
Fr. Eusebius the Rigorous: Lives in a small enclosure he built himself under a fig tree; during Great Lent, will usually restrict himself to eating but 15 figs.
Fr. Hilarion the Naked: Has, somewhat reluctantly, consented to wear a loincloth when playing away from home, or at home against teams that feature women.
Fr. Artemius the Unwashed [Cap]: None of the members of the squad are close intimates of soap and water, but Fr. Artemius' ascetic devotion is such that he's never once washed or been washed since the day he was born.
Fr. Mark the Goatskin Wearer: Wears only the skins of animals who die of natural causes near his remote hermitage; which may not sound remarkable, except he doesn't remove the heads.

Forwards:
Fr. Gerasimus the New Ascetic: Not just a grazer, but also lives a life of total silence.
Fr. Theophilus the Wise: Star forward for perennial Monastic League strugglers Hermits United; believed to be on the squad due to a clerical error.

Manager/coach:
Fr. Basil the Fool for Christ: Feigns (apparently) madness so as to expose the folly of the world; typically goes naked (though, like Fr. Hilarion, will wear a loincloth under certain conditions), always wears chains around his neck, and occasionally throws his own faeces at sinners. This may include his own squad, the opposition, and the watching crowd.

*OOC - these are nonetheless wholly based on actually recorded late Classical / medieval examples of ascetic monasticism. Naked grazers ('boskoi') were recorded on isolated areas of Mount Athos as recently as 1960. Saint Basil the Fool for Christ is a historical figure - though he was never a football manager

Formation:
The Archregimancy always plays an orthodox 4-4-2; style modifier +0.

Kit:

See Fr. Seraphim the Occasionally Dangerously Free Thinking Theologian model the Archregimancy's monastic robes!

Image

Note that Fr. Hilarion will, however, never wear more than a loincloth unless required to do so by local laws when playing away from home. Fr. Mark the Goastskin Wearer has been prevailed upon to die his goatskins black so as to minimise confusion - though not to remove the heads.

Team Icon

The team is always accompanied to matches by the Holy Icon of the Mother of God, Bringer of Victory, which is paraded before the team before the match. The Holy Icon looks like:

Tips for footballing visitors to the Archregimancy:

1) Each home match is preceded by the complete Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom. Rest assured that this should only require visiting teams, fans, and officials to stand for a mere 2 hours before kickoff. Consider yourselves lucky we don't use the Liturgy of St. Basil.

2) We control the nature of reality in the Dreamed Realm. This isn't used to cheat - all normal rules of football are strenuously followed - but it does have two major side effects:
A) Any injuries to either team in Archregimancy home matches are immediately healed.
B) No violent or riotous behaviour by visiting fans will be tolerated. Any such behaviour will find those responsible immediately transported back to ordinary physical reality.

3) Direct travel from ordinary physical reality to the Dreamed Realm is impossible. Some 72 hours before your away qualifier in the Archregimancy, a team of monks shall arrive in your home stadium and construct a portal to the Dreamed Realm. You may then use this to travel to the Archregimancy at your leisure.

4) Visiting support is limited to a maximum of 50 fans as this campaign the Archregimancy will be playing in a tiny, isolated, and near-inaccessible home stadium.

5) Women are not usually permitted into the Archregimancy. Exceptions will be made for visiting players and properly accredited officials - largely because we have to.

6) Formerly, the Archregimancy made a point of being resentful of being forced to permit atheists, communists, freemasons, assorted heretics and foul excelites into the Archregimancy for home qualifiers. These days the Monastic Football Association tries a little harder to welcome all of the above – though largely in the hope that might just possibly be open to conversion through a slightly more conciliatory approach.

HOME GROUND

Rather appropriately given the nature of the team, the Archregimancy will be playing its home matches at the most isolated and inaccessible location ever chosen by the MFA for WC qualifiers - the Holy Monastery of the All-Holy Mother of God Angeloktiste ("built by angels").

Image

The 'pitch' is in a small clearing at the foot of the cliff, in just about the only flat ground of sufficient size to hold the smallest legal size of international football pitch. Some 'seating' will be available for those prepared to sit on the cliffs.

It may or may not be a coincidence that - architecturally - the monastery bears something of a resemblance to the only surviving Orthodox Monastery in Andossa Se Mitrin Vega.

And remember... Monks don't cheat. Please.

OOC: I realise my team might present a role-playing challenge. Rest assured that once they start playing they'll play just like any other team (though they might be a bit more inclined to pray after scoring), so I have no problem with you treating the team like any other if you don't want to deal with the Orthodox Christian element.

Coach

Martín Tejera
Once regarded as one of the very best goalkeepers in world football when he was one of many foreign stars plying their trade in Cafundéu. Former Sargossan international who cut his coaching teeth at home town club Estrella Torreón before leading Nuevo Onwere into the SuperLiga. That achievement earned him a move across the city to Sporting San Marquez, where he has masterminded successive title wins.

Assistant Coaches

Principal coaching staff remain, providing much needed continuity. Meaning Hernán Ojeda holds on to an assistant coach slot while Israel Navarro continues to work with the goalkeepers and Javier Valentín oversees the fitness work. But Tejera’s long-time collaborator Carlos Tesero is added to the back room team, as is his former international team mate Ernesto Farías who juggles senior squad duties with his current role as Under-21 coach.

Talent

GK: 1. José Antonio Leiva (35) - Scott City FC (Darmen)
Renowned locally as a safe pair of hands. A succession of consistent campaigns saw the keeper attract interest overseas and he's since headed for a new challenge in Darmen.
GK: 13. Cristian Deballa (32) - Dunas Del Sol
Boasts the fastest reflexes in the SuperLiga which would make him an instant starter were it not for the occasional devastating lapse in concentration.
GK: 25. Fernando Surza (33) - Jaguarés
Decent goalkeeper. Collects Koi Carp, which is nice.

DR: 2. Toni Siqueira (30) - Ciudad Soluca
Gallivanting right sided fallback with pace to burn and technique that comes from being half Cafundelense.
DRC: 5. Leandro Gonzàlez (26) - El Nacional
Former captain of the Under-21 side who has become an integral member of the senior squad. Has become the youngest El Nacional captain in their history.
DLC: 6. Matías Cardozo (27) – El Nacional
Snapped up from lower league Rayo Camei to form an imposing SuperLiga defensive partnership with Gonzàlez. A partnership former coach Erassi hoped to recreate for the national side.
DL: 3. Lautaro Formica (25) – Sporting San Marquez
The second son of Marquezian immigrants who couples sound defensive instincts with a wand of a left foot. Clocked up twelve goals from set pieces last season.
DC: 12: Juan Delgado (35) - Sporting San Marquez
One club man who is something of a legend in his native San Marquez. Few read the game better but he sprints like a someone wading through treacle.
DC: 14. Bruno Trejo (30) - Ciudad Soluca
A late bloomer who in the space of five years has gone from the third tier to become one of the nation's most accomplished defenders. But a shaky first season in Soluca has seen him drop down the pecking order.
DLC: 19. Luis Parra (31) - Scott City FC (Darmen)
Primarily a left back but has the attributes to fairly effortless drop into the centre, versatility much admired by the new coach.
DR: 21: Gonzalo Soriano (25) - El Nacional
Pacy rightback with a devil of a cross on him. Has a good understanding with club mate Gonzàlez and will push Siqueira hard for a starting berth.

DMC: 4. Lucas Ramís (24) – Sporting San Marquez
Key member of a Sporting side looking increasingly formidable in the SuperLiga.
AMR: 7. Andrés Guerrón (32) - Chastings Heights (Civil Citizenry)
Wing wizard with pace that wouldn't look out of place at the Olympics. The onus will be on him to push forward to support the big men up front.
MC: 8. Luís Ángel Landín (34) - Alianza Jucaro
Consistently one of the SuperLiga's most, well, consistent performers. Offers a neat and tidy range of passing and the ability to dictate the Corsairs' tempo.
AML: 11. Alejandro Echeverría (30) - Ciudad Soluca
This boy's a bit special and we're not talking in the crash helmet and crayons sense. Stick him anywhere in the attacking third and he can make something happen. Handed the captain's armband by Tejera.
AMRC: 15. Matías Montiel (30) - Vincanto (Erathore)
Ridiculously talented playmaker who hits a dream of a freekick and could conceivably thread a ball through the eye of a needle. Was just a little lightweight for Erassi's preferred blend of powerplay but could benefit greatly from the change in coach.
MRC: 16. Hugo Messina (33) - Alianza Jucaro
A consistent domestic performer with a neat array of passing and a passion for flamenco dancing. We're not sure how that helps.
MLC: 18. Kike Galán (23) – Sporting San Marquez
Miniature midfield dynamo whose influence in the centre often belies his diminutive stature.
DMC: 22. Ignacio Caballero (28) - Ciudad Soluca
A midfielder destroyer who fought off a tonne of attacking talent to take last season's SuperLiga player of the year award.
AMLC: 24. Sebastian Leto (31) - Sporting San Marquez
Scorer of last year's SuperLiga goal of the season, a 40 yard thunderbolt against Juventudé. Tricksy winger who provides left sided backup for Echeverría.

FLC: 9. Gelson Di Santo (20) – Ciudad Soluca
A real find from the Ciudad academy who scored nine goals in the final twelve league fixtures last season as his club lifted the title. Can play up front or wide on the left.
FC: 10. Alejandro Martinuccio (30) - Astograth University (Astograth)
A goal happy target man who has recently being doing the rounds of club football in Astograth. He’s now surfaced at domestic champions Astograth University. Which is much less confusing.
FC: 17. Mariano Estrada (23) – Sporting San Marquez
Twenty five goals last season says it all for the forward widely seen as the heir apparent to recently retired goal-getter Celso Esquivel.
FLC: 20. Carlos Montero (25) - Dínamo Maturín
The youth coaches at the Ciudad Deportiva are no strangers to unearthing gems and Carlos is the latest to excel for the Dínamo first team.
FRC: 23. Lucas Andrada (29) - Turoki Tide (Vilita)
A talented lad plucked from SuperLiga midtable obscurity by sharp eyed V-League scouts. Now plying his trade in Turoki after spells at Kiiarana and Yeaddin Owls. Helped his club to victory at the 40th Globe Cup and subsequent AlfaCredit Super Cup. Which probably constitutes a good season.

Style
A fluid 4-3-3 in possession, a more solid 4-5-1 without the ball. Probable starting eleven (Listed L to R)
Leiva -- Formica - Gonzàlez - Cardozo - Soriano -- Galán - Ramís - Montiel -- Echeverría - Estrada - Andrada

THE HOLY EMPIRE WC 62 SQUAD

While the nation took a long break between WCs 7 and 25, the Holy Empire is proud to be the last currently active nation to have participated in WC1.

OOC: To keep things simple for me (because I plan to focus RP on Juan Tzimisces this cycle, not the squad), the Empire will be fielding a team of perfectly normal Imperial citizens for a change. As usual, names ending in -O are from the coastal plain; names ending in -es are from the Chaco (which may be desolate and relatively underpopulated, but which has always contributed a disproportionate number of leading football stars to the squad - including the coach).

Goal:
Alexius Ducaso [cap]

Defence:
Michael Glycaso
Miguel Chrysoberges
Theodore Mangaphaso

Midfield:
Carlos Stilbes
John Lascaro
Demetrius Comneno-Ducaso
Juan Andres Tornikes
Nicholas Myrepsuso

Forwards:
Alexius Philanthropenuso
Alejandro Vatatzes

Subs:
GK: Manuel Comneno
Def: John Palaeologo
Mid: Fabricio Planudes; Andronicus Angeluso
For: Constantine Phocaso-Lascaruso

Coaches:

The team coach remains World Cup Hall of Fame legend Juan Tzimisces.

The assistant coach is Starblaydi World Cup Hall of Fame legend Simeone Di Bradini.

Ug-Ug is still having a new adventure, and isn't with the Holy Empire this Cup.

The Holy Empire always registers the coaches as players, just in case.

Kit
The squad will wear the famous Imperial Gold and Red, as worn by the Holy Empire since WC1 (home left, change/away right)

Image

Ground
Home matches take place in the jewel-encrusted and gold and platinum-domed Imperial Hippodrome.

Style Modifiers / formation
Frosty football is attacking football. The Holy Empire always plays a 3-5-2 formation using overlapping wingers that turns into 3-3-4 on the counterattack.

OOC'ly, the team uses the maximum attacking style modifier permitted by each cup's hosts.

RP instructions:
Except as described below, knock yourselves out - creative RP is encouraged.

Please remember that the basic rules for travel to the Archregimancy [see above] also apply to the Holy Empire - you'll need someone to build a portal for you, you can't just fly/walk/drive there. If you want to deal with the malleable reality and non-linear time elements of the Dreamed Realm, and have no prior experience of these, it's probably best to check with me first.

Only I can decide if and when I might choose to field the coaches as players; please don't do this unilaterally.

Stadium: Leorudian Olyimpic Stadium
The Leorudian Olyimpic Stadium is a brand-new, state-of-the-art football stadium. Built in the middle of the Leorudian Capital District, it can hold 96,300 people, though most of the time more fans than that are packed in. It is a hard place to go and play a game.
Photo:Image

Kits: Created by Kinitaria
Image

Pretty cool, huh?
Manager: Sam Orlandus
Sam Orlandus is a manager who is a veteran of the game. He managed a Leorudian college club for years, and the creation of the club was a perfect oppurtunity for him to manage on an international scale. After a few unsucessful campaigns, his job is somewhat in question this season.
Photo:
Image

Style Modifier: -3

Name-Position-Age
Starting Roster
Scena Tartarus-Keeper-25
Scena Tartarus is quite possibally the best goalie Leorudo has ever seen. Only 25, he has blocked uncountable shots and
saved uncountable failed coverages. This man makes Leorudo a defensive club.
Photo:
Image

Juan Rojas-Defender-27
Juan Rojas is a very important piece of the Leorudian Defensive stance. He is great for defending the player that scores on a put back Scena's saves while also being the one who plays his music too loud in the clubhouse before games. He is a fun character.
Photo(on the Right):
Image

Donald Freedman-Defender-29
Donald Freedman is a pain to play agianst. He can make even the best forwards have a bad day at times by his sheer amount of stamina. He is also a member of the defensive side that has held clubs ranking from Vilitia to 95X to scoring few if any goals in AOCAF play.
Photo:
Image

Shaun Delrose-Midfielder-36
Shaun Delrose is a defending midfielder for the club, but his main strength is that he is the captain of the team and the oldest member of the team. He is the mentor of the club for many of the younger players, and while he is not as good as he was in his prime, his mental presence can inspire anyone on the team to explode onto the game's scene at anytime.
Photo:
Image

Carlos Azulis-Striker-21
Carlos Azulis is the upcoming star in the club. He is very young and quite raw when it comes to the international stage, but he can still run and play with the best of them. Give him a couple years, and he might be one of the best players on the Leorudian squad.
Photo:
Image

Leonardi Opladious-Midfielder-25
Leonardi Opladious, or the "Pride of Leorudo", as he is known by the Leorudian fanbase, is a kid who grew up in the local Leorudian city streets. He became known for being in almost every pickup game from when he was a kid up until a local scout selected him to try out for the new club. Playing on the city streets gave him a physical mentality that he carries with him today which is the great qualit that he has no fear taking an opponent's head off. He is a hell of a player.
Photo:
Image

Brendan Kiernan-Midfielder-27
Brendan Kiernam is your textbook midfielder. He does not really excel at anything, but he can pass, shoot, dribble, and defend at a consistant level that is needed to keep this team anchored to their defensive base.
(No photo avalible)

Jim Fenlon-Forward-30
Jim Fenlon is a forward that cannot shoot to save his life. While this is a needed trait for most forwards, Jim makes his money off of passing. He can pass to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Him and Luke Moore are a good pair because of Luke's quick foot a and Jim's quick pass. This is a duo that will catch you off guard if your not prepared for a quick strike close to the net.
Photo:
Image

Luke Moore-Forward-24
Luke Moore is a player that is not unfamiliar with scoring goals. Though not the greatest passer, he can put a ball in the back of the net in a blink of an eye. In his first World Cup, he was the leading scorer for Leorudo and a known player in the local pub scene. He is quite the intresting character.
Photo(in his college uniform):Image

Curtis Osano-Forward/Midfielder-26
Born to a sailor's wife on the docks of Leorudo, he would spend most of his youth playing on the docks with other sailor's childern as they passed through the ports. In this playing, he developed an unorthodox style of scoring, shooting a shot that bounces and curves wildly from the middle of the shoots pitch. When he misses, though, Luke Moore stands ready to put a rebound in the back of the net, well, most of the time.
Image

Rashid Yussu-Defender-38
A former Leorudian great, he is know entering the final phase of his career. He is also a mentor for many of the younger guys and helps defend an opponent who attempts to get a rebound. He is another piece of the puzzle that anchors Leorudo to it's defensive base.
Photo:
Image

Subs
Seb Brown-Keeper-35
Seb Brown is the former Keeper of the club that seems to have taken Scena Tartarus under his wing. He is still a decent keeper that can be a sub if Scena needs a break, but his main role on the team is too progress Scena into a start keeper.
Photo:
http://img338.imageshack.us/img338/4235/joehartf.png

Warren Cummings-Defender-20
Warren Cummings was born in a village in northern Leorudo. There, he was introduced the game his village has been playing for centuries. He has a good work ethic and he is fairly underrated compared to the rest of the squad.

Callum McNaughton-Forward-25
Callum McNaughton is a fairly new Leorudian Forward that has only ever appeared in one game on the international stage.
He is a fairly good goal scorer, but he tends to quickly foul rather than chase his man down. Much better on the ball then off.
Photo(He is the one on the right):
Image

Mat Mitchel-Defender-24
Mat Mitchel is a prospect that is really just being used to take up an extra roster spot. He is not really skilled at much besides stopping players on the run, he is your textbook back up who can come on if needed and help the club.
(Photo unavalible)

Mytanar National Football Team.

Manager - Sergyei Arefev.
The 43 year old has now had one World Cup cycle to grow into the role as the national team manager and he did fairly well in his first qualifying campaign, qualifying top of Group 15, with local Rushmori rivals such as Swartaz in the group. He guided the team to 41 points, 11 clear of nearest rivals Swartaz and Thatius - this included 13 wins, 2 draws and 1 sole loss. In the qualifying campaign we only conceded 2 goals! Sergyei Arefev's defensive football may not seem as stylish or as exciting as the way other teams play, but it is efficient and ruthless. He allows a bit of creativity but this is usually channeled all through one player and once again this time around, that one player is expected to be young Snerik Oiskha. He'll be given a bit of licence to roam in between the midfield and attack to try and link the play and create something.

The rest of the team, especially the defence will be expected to be tough, hardnosed and well-organised. Two players of a similar mould have been selected in the middle of the park and Arefev is well known to select good box-to-box midfielders, which is why he's probably chosen Hjik and Stojanovic. Iivari Kaitanen's movement will also be used as a good foil to Laze v Tuhinju's aerial ability, with the young striker being able to ghost in behind and latch onto flick-ons and suchlike. Arefev doesn't like wide players, the team won't play with any width whatsoever, with the two central midfielders playing quite deep too - so attacks by the opposition down the wing could be quite effective but pretty passing through the middle should be easily stopped with the middle of the park being extremely congested. This team is basically about keeping it tight at their own end whilst trying to nick one at the other, which is exactly Arefev's style.

Starting XI.
#1 - GK - Kondrat Istomin - 23 - Bastion (FSSO) - 11 caps
Istomin started out at Zenit Esca and was a bit of a rock between the sticks for them, basically being the only reason why they weren't relegated from the Top League for quite a few seasons. He was rewarded for his great performances with a move away to Bastion in Eura, he's now holding down the #1 spot there whilst earning the national team starting gig also with impressive performances. He isn't the tallest goalkeeper but his reflexes save him regularly and are what make him so good, he anticipates shots well also.

#2 - LB - Lev Repin - 25 - FC Ararat Severyan - 1 cap
A one-cap wonder up until this point, he's now expected to earn a whole lot more after an extremely impressive string of performances in the Top League this season, where he was an ever-present as captain of his club side. His ability to defend well and reliably, breaking up play with fair but strong challenges is combined with what he offers going forward, pinpoint crossing. His set piece ability is exceptional, he'll probably the primary set piece taker - especially free kicks. He's a very useful player to have because of this, especially with players who are good in the air in the squad.

#3 - CB - Martin Latka - 25 - SK Aasiaat Harbour (Polar Islandstates) - 33 caps, 1 goal
The 25 year old is still stuck at Aasiaat, in the Polarian second division, but he isn't too bothered, he enjoys playing with out the same pressure as others do and this seems to improve the way he plays at international level. The 6'7 behemoth is good in the air - for obvious reasons - but also maintains a good level of control with the ball at his feet, he's able to pick a pass well enough. He tackles strongly and marks well also, he does lack pace though and quick strikers could cause him a good deal of trouble if they get him caught off-guard.

#4 - CB - Lavrentii Aliev - 26 - Liria Prizren - 4 caps
A theme of this World Cup for Mytannion is players who don't have very many international caps, Aliev is another. He is coming off the back of a National Cup win with his club though, so he'll be fairly motivated to do well and add to the few caps he does have. Aliev is undersized for a centre back, but he's quick and surprisingly strong. He'll be the one given the task to mark quicker strikers and perhaps give them a little kick every so often. His tackling is good but he's not the best in the air. He's more experienced than he seems however and will make good decisions often - he'll be marshaling the defence this tournament, we expect.

#5 - RB - Dennis Adkvissen - 24 - SK Aasiaat Harbour (Polar Islandstates) - 24 caps, 1 goal
Adkvissen is a good defensive full back, offering security down the right flank. Happily enough for the national team, this suits the system they intend to play for years to come - with the defence just sitting back and leaving the attacking stuff to the midfield and attack, they want defenders who are prepared to sit back and wait. Adkvissen is good at this and is a tall and strong full back, with a good turn of pace good footballing intelligence. His tackling sometimes leaves a bit to be desired as it is often messy and a bit dangerous, but Arefev isn't too bothered considering a large part of the way his team are designed to play is around aggression and physicality.

#6 - CDM - Tikhon Voronin - 21 - Dinamo Esca - 2 caps
He's got big boots to fill, coming in for Musa Kiril who played the position well for years and years. He'll be expected to break up the opposition's attacks however he can before they reach his defence and then to calmly select the best pass he can to try and start an attack. His tough tackling could make the first part easy, but Arefev will hope his disciplinary record improves over the course of qualifying as silly bookings could cause trouble later on in the qualification stage. The second part of it could be trickier, Voronin was an accurate passer in the Top League this season, but that's with a lot of space and time on the ball, with there being more space and time because it's a lower level of competition but with space being short at international level is pass completion percentage could decrease hugely and that's not what Arefev wants from the person who plays this position.

#7 - CM - Dobroslav Stojanovic - 21 - Atletik Thessia - Uncapped
Stojanovic has Hjik's old #7 shirt and he'll be doing what Robin Hjik used to do for Mytannion, being the box-to-box midfielder who can get from one end of the field to the other and join attacks. His long-range shooting ability is uncannily similar to Robin Hjik's and his passing is similarly good. He's coming off a season where he scored 19 goals and grabbed 15 assists, he's also coming off the back of a £22.5 million transfer from hometown club FC Ararat Severyan to Atletik Thessia. He'll be motivated to succeed this World Cup and will want to keep his run of scoring goals going, he'll be the heart of the national team midfield for a good few years and should grow into a good leader, just like his hero, Robin Hjik.

#8 - CM - Robin Hjik - 35 - Atletik Thessia - 127 caps, 51 goals - Captain
The man who seems to have been around forever and made his first ever international appearance aged just 16. Hjik is still going and after moving back from the Polar Islandstates and SK Franz Josef City to the club he has made 364 appearances for, Atletik Thessia, he'll hope to get a few more success as he enters the twilight of his career. He is excellent at arriving late to moves around the area from midfield and finishing them, his shooting ability is top class and this has been proven down the years. He's scored 165 goals in the time he's been at Atletik Thessia and 51 goals at the highest level of football is nothing to be sniffed at. He's the hero of millions of Mytanars and continues to compete at the highest level. He can carve open a defence with a single pass and is good defensively too, tackling strong and often before beginning to dribble at speed. His set piece ability is good also, he'll take penalties and any long-range free kicks that present themselves to him.

#9 - AM - Snerik Oiskha - 18 - Atletik Thessia - 19 caps, 5 goals
Oiskha will create problems for the opposition in their final third by picking killer passes and having close control to ghost through defences. His movement will be key too, he should be able to create space where others cannot, which should give him room to work the ball, something that will be important if our long-ball tactic doesn't work. He will be the creative heartbeat of this side, which he was when he played for Atletik all last season, he didn't score too many but he was extremely important in creating chances which could be converted and then turned into their 13th Top League title. His young age belies the amount of skill he has, but he is prone to errors in decision making, sometimes picking the wrong pass - but often, he chooses a pass which can leave forwards through on goal; this should work especially well with Iivari Kaitanen, who is difficult enough to pick up already, but Oiskha's passing could increase this difficulty.

#10 - ST - Laze v Tuhinju - 24 - Atletik Thessia - 35 caps, 14 goals
A forward who is absolutely outstanding in the air, if a cross is put between the penalty spot and 6-yard box, chances are that more often than not, v Tuhinju will be on the end of it to smash it home with his cranium. He also has a surprising bit of acceleration which can help him move away from defenders, his composure in front of goal and his finishing are top class also. When he's actually dribbling with the ball he's not too much danger, but if the ball falls to him or he shoots first time he will cause a lot of problems and should score a fair few goals.

#11 - ST - Iivari Kaitanen - 18 - CAP (Valladares) - Uncapped
His movement is what gets him so many goals, he scored 26 last season in the Mytanar Top League for Dtykiga and he was rewarded for this with a move to CAP in Valladares, for £17.5 million. He ghosts into areas behind defenders where they don't want him and his speed to get ahead of them is scary. He is quick and uses this weapon often. He is a bit of a goal poacher, but it works so well for him. He is expert at bending his run to stay onside and often when the pass is played through is out on his own because of how quick he is. His finishing is good and he is decent in the air for someone who is only 5'9, but he is just cerebral when the ball falls to him in the box or when he uses his speed to move past defenders and then lash home a strike.

Substitutes.
#12 - GK - Demy de Zooijt - 30 - East Franz Athletic (Polar Islandstates) - 53 caps
An experienced goalkeeper who knows what he is doing. He's only been pushed out of the starting role based on his age and the fact Istomin has been playing very well recently. He'll be excellent if he is ever needed to stand in for Istomin though, after all he's played for Mytannion 53 times before and only conceded 2 goals in the whole of one qualifying campaign, which is very impressive.

#13 - CB - Fahe Mahuc - 26 - 1896 Ebor - 7 caps
A strong centre back for 1896 Ebor who has had spells at Atletik Thessia and Energetyk Parr before he was signed by 1896 Ebor for £13 million. He does have a history of some rash challenges but he seems to have matured well and has improved his tackling well. His marking is good and is definitely the strongest part of his game, he keeps tight to attackers and doesn't allow them room to manoeuvre. Could be beaten for pace because of this sometimes.

#14 - RB - Roman Benarik - 30 - CDSA Decraa - Uncapped
Had a great season at right back for CDSA Decraa enough so that Sergyei Arefev was prepared to put faith in a 30 year old who had never been capped before, but he offers could cover for the sometimes injury prone Dennis Adkvissen and is a defender who stays back as often as possible, which fits with the philosophy that Arefev plays, which is probably another reason why he was selected.

#15 - DM - Thorvar Prijholm - 19 - Atletik Thessia - Uncapped
Prijholm is good at doing what Musa Kiril did for the national team for years, tackling and moving the ball along. He is also good at picking people out, long-range passing being a good attribute of his, he often hits long diagonal passes to quick forwards. He will try to utilise this with Iivari Kaitanen, hitting long balls to try and turn defenders around and getting them out of shape against Kaitanen. It will probably be a rotation policy between him and Voronin, so Prijholm offers similar things to Voronin but also offers some regular goals - he's decent in the air and often gets on the end of set pieces.

#16 - CM - Iuliu Zaplatic - 24 - Olympic Thessia - Uncapped
Zaplatic is of a similar mould to Stojanovic and Hjik and will be substituted on as a like-for-like replacement for either of them if they are injured or tired, he won't be substituted on as something different. His passing is good and he gets a whole lot of assists because of it, but it his ability to be in the right place at the right time and pop up with goals that makes him so good. He managed 8 goals this past season in Olympic Thessia's run to Globe Cup qualification. He's strong and pacy and reminds some of a young Niek van der Zwan - who he is effectively replacing in the squad.

#17 - CM - Mirko Tasecchi - 22 - Atletik Thessia - 14 caps, 2 goals
He's a silky footballer, he will be the one who is brought on if we need something different in the middle of the park. He can pick a pass and can dribble past players well, he is often the one who creates the goals for Atletik Thessia. It was a toss-up between him and Aleksandr Kulikov for this final substitute spot and Kulikov will probably be in it every couple of games too. Tasecchi won't score loads but when he is brought on it will be for the assists he offers.

#18 - ST - Salum Merec - 34 - Echegoyan FC (Astograth) - 44 caps, 26 goals
Lacks the legs he used to have to run around for ages on the field. He will now be used as an impact sub, it still is not bad to have a player to bring on who has scored 26 goals in international games, he averages around a goal every 189 minutes for his country - so basically a goal every two and a little bit games. Useful to be able to bring that off the bench. His composure in front of goal is good and his finishing is effective, he doesn't offer much in the air though.

Reserves.

#19 - GK - David Krogh - 31 - CDSA Decraa - Uncapped
The only reason he's here is because he's experienced and had a good season for CDSA Decraa. Seriously. That is all. He's an average goalkeeper but that's about it.

#20 - LB - Hannes Urz - 30 - SK Franz Josef City (Polar Islandstates) - 51 caps, 1 goal
He would be on the bench if he was a right back but he's a left back and Lev Repin hardly ever gets injured and probably won't get substituted once this qualifying campaign, so he's in the reserves. He's a good player to have in case of injury though and his experience will be valued in the camp, certainly. He's a good tackler and offers something going forward, if we ever need an attacking full back.

#21 - CB - Fabijan Bacic - 21 - Augusta (Darmen) - Uncapped
He'll hope to get some game time against smaller nations to showcase his skills, he wants away from Litala and Wyan Road. He times his challenges well and is very adept in the air, he does need to work on marking players and anticipating what happens though, he is by no means a complete product yet. He's strong and has a bit of pace too, meaning he can at least stand up against quick strikers.

#22 - CM - Aleksandr Kulikov - 19 - FC Ararat Severyan - 6 caps, 1 goal
Aleks Kulikov is a great talent. He sadly plays as more of an attacking midfielder than a central one, even though he's been selected to play in the centre of the park. He offers something different than both starting centre midfielders and Snerik Oiskha at attacking midfield. If he was to play attacking midfielder he'd be more direct than Snerik Oiskha, going on driving runs towards goal that result in shots. If he was playing in the middle of the park he'd be more creative, similarly to how Snerik Oiskha would play if he played in the middle. Not getting too involved in the nitty gritty and latching onto passes and then trying to turn that into something. He played both of these roles last season for his club side and that resulted in 12 goals in 26 games, not too shabby. He's also been rewarded with a move to FC Ararat Severyan, because of his goalscoring ability - being part of the replacement for Dobroslav Stojanovic.

#23 - ST - Igor Artemiev - 21 - Olympic Thessia - 9 caps, 3 goals
He's good at staying on the last man and then sprinting onto balls lobbed over the defenders heads, but he's also adept at playing out on the sideline and then cutting in behind onto passes. He also is very good at bringing others into play, a link between strikers. He'll be used to offer something different than the other forwards on the team.

Permissions: Assume yes to all. Just don't kill any players and try to adhere to realism as much as possible. This team is physical and will put in some tough challenges so yellow and red cards may occur fairly often. The fans are renowned for being violent, hooliganism is a huge, huge problem in Mytannion and this continues when their fans follow the national team overseas. Fans will cause trouble and light up flares, set off fireworks and carry massive flags with them. Please do make use of this in your role-plays.

Starters Bolded

Goalkeepers

1- Dru Holliday -Unattached 37 Caps, 28 Years Old
The key reason that the Knights made it through the round of sixteen at the last world cup was the stone wall in goal. Holliday led them to a 2-1-1 record, with victories over both Cassadaigua and a low ranked, but high intensity Starblaydia team. Since then with turmoil in his former home of Queer Poco he has been looking for a new starting gig, and will look to show his skills in the upcoming qualifiers.

22- Jon Obliski - Tintown Terrapins 1 Cap, 27 Years Old
The man who has led Tintown to more championships than seasons on the brink is solely the reason why Tintown is relevant again in the Taeshan Soccer League. Obliski may not be the future of the Taeshan National team, but with Ryleigh Voegael still somewhat wet behind her ears hes the best option in case of emergency.

23- Ryleigh Voegael- Dragoste Dragons(Antoletia) 2 Caps, 22 Years Old
The youngest goalkeeper on the squad and the sure to be starter in the not to far future, Voegael is literally the only person of note plying their trade on the fields of Antoletia. Many wonder why she still plays for the team from the nation so looked down upon, but still she troops on in one of the lesser leagues of the world.

Defenders

3- CB, Jordan Jaffacake- Moresvville FC 34 Caps, 3 Goals, 20 Years Old
The powerful centerback who bears an eery significant resemblance to a more famous Audioslavan. The brute force behind the impenetrable Taeshani defense Jaffacake and his fellow Taeshani defenders may very well be not only the youngest, but one, if not the, best defense in the worlds top level of football.

4- RB, Theodore Vanswoi - Atlantea Hurricanes 101 Caps, 29 Years Old, Vice-Captain
One last chance for the defensive leader from Atlantea to have a chance to continue the historic ride the Knights had last season. Improving on a defensive season that led to their first ever round of sixteen appearance. Everyone knows the Taeshani motto is defend, defend, defend and once in a while counterattack and long has Vanswoi led this charge.

7- LB, Jeremiah Longwaters - Gordonopia FC(United Gordonopia) 23 Caps, 1 Goal, 19 Years Old
The youngest of the four Taeshani defenders, and the only one with a history on the U21 team, Jeremiah was called up last year to a hugely depleted roster after most of the old team left. He came, and he proved he deserved it. The young left back is surely impressive, and will be around as long as the two other backs. Is is to early to say defensive dynasty.

19- CB, Lydie - Moresville FC 23 Caps, 3 Goals, 20 Years Old
The smallest and only female starter Lydie is not the player many expect her to be at first glance. A feisty center back that scares even the tallest of strikes, and shes been known to melt a few opposing hearts with her breathtaking eyes.

2- FB, Eddie Styles- 21 Bayern Phoenix 3 Caps, 1 Goal, 21 Years Old
The heir apparent to the right back position, and the continuance of the common theme of young players on the defense, Eddie has been a stalwart for his club in Bayern and when he gets his chance for country he seems to do very well with the opportunity.

9- CB, Grant Wetter - Trevio (PST) 3 Caps, 22 Years Old
The man only known for his horrible group round mess up in the Di Bradini Cup Grant has proved very capable of shoring up the defense for his club, but with little chance for him to play internationally, and him being older than most of the starters his chances are numbered to make an impression.

21- FB, Gloria Walters - Gilley FC(Saugeais) 2 Caps, 21 Caps
She is the third female member of the team.

Midfielders
6- LM, Gwyn Juniper - Olympique de Fontevielle(Valladares) 153 Caps, 46 Goals, 29 Years Old
It will be a sad day when Gwyn Juniper leaves the Knights. He plays in Valladares, the third highest ranked league in the world, for the rivals of the most famous club of our decade. He is good, he is a scorer, a playmaker, and above all, hes fricking awesome.

8- CAM, Ender Wiggin - Dartmoor(Socialist States Owen) 52 Caps, 15 Goals, 23 Years Old
The future of Taeshani scoring, and basically all other important offensive statistics. Basically we should try to keep him and Gwyn together for a long time, because the two together are magical, the two apart are magical. They are just all around magical.

16- RM, Elijah Knickerbocker - Atlantea Hurricanes 75 Caps, 1 Goal, 28 Years Old, Captain
Elijah is not a scorer, but he is a leader and thats what he has been told to do. The second Taeshani player from the notable Hurricanes, Knickerbocker is one of the many leaders this Taeshani team has. He is now the captain and he may well lead the Knights to another birth in the World Cup.

[b]35- CDM, Arturo Arthur - Mt Ceabring Thunder 37 Caps, 1 Goal 29 Years Old[/b]
The Mt Ceabring captain now has his chance to start, but in an altogether unfamiliar territory. With no other options he has been announced by the as yet named Taeshani manager in the defensive midfield position. Will he be able to gel into the back, or will someone else have to step up, only time will tell how this interesting call will play out.

12- RM, Andrew Müller - Trevio (PST) 2 Caps, 20 Years Old
Another player playing in the strange land with the strange team of Trevio Andrew is a possible replacement for Arthur, or Juniper in the future and many think he could be a step up to Arthur if they need a more frontward approach to the game.

13- CM, Tyler Icicle - Tintown Terrapins 3 Caps, 21 Years Old
The second man from Tintown, Tyler Icicle is a young midfielder that could prove to be another possibility going forward. With the bevy of young midfield talent in Taeshan its really lucky just getting the call to the national team.

14- CM, Walter Palisades - Real Chinchihua 0 Caps, 26 Years Old
The new man in camp, and the most likely future stater, Palisades has long been rumored to be making his way to the Taeshan side, and with Hannah still not allowed to compete internationally he has decided to go for it with just a few years of eligibility left. Now he could very well break into a familiar basis with country like club.

15- CM, Manny Pato - Mierton Manatees 0 Caps 23 Years Old
The second of four newbies to the national team, do not let the fact that Pato's club was just relegated fool you. Pato is the real deal. A tricky midfielder with many tools and a good left foot for corners and free kicks. A big reason Mierton stayed around the Premier league for so long.

25- CAM, Xavier Ptolemy - Bayern-Algaer 9 Caps, 2 Goals, 23
The young captain of one of the top teams in Taeshan, Ptolemy has been a big threat in his many years with the Weavers and a threat every time he has come off the bench for the Knights.

Strikers

11- LS, Ryan Portmanteau - Ojian Orangemen 0 Caps 27 Years Old
The lone starting new player, Portmanteau was called upon to keep the young striking core off the field for another year or too and allow more development of the three young strikers.

20- RS, Tolea Patrick-Peterson - Woodlands Lumberjacks(Civil Citizenry) 49 Caps, 1 Goal, 29 Years Old
The elder statesmen of the striking corps, with the departures of the 2 starters last year, Tolea is now the main ball chasing striker and without much other options he will be looked upon to hassle the other teams with his speed and annoying ability to take the ball.

5- RS, Kyle Laravy - Mt Ceabring Thunder 6 Caps, 1 Goal, 19 Years old
The youngest striker on the squad, and the third member of the Mt Ceabring Thunder, Laravy is an interesting younger. With the build of a Manny Warren and the speed of Ezekiel Catamount, but the question is does he have the willingness to fight for it like A.F. Falcon did?

10- LS, Brian Ibrahim - Old Haven(Icemark) 2 Caps, 4 Goals, 21 Years Old
An impressive stat line with two goals a game, but with all the young strikers he us really just another one out there.

24- RS, Seth Clapton - Los Riosa Monstas 0 Caps 26 Years Old
The big center forward from Los Riosa has now been brought to the national team and of course will probably feature off the bench in times of need for the Knights. In most any case he could really be the player to change games near the end with his sheer size.

Now let slip the dogs of war!

Staff
FrJ. Father Juan the Fifth Takilan, Manager, 88
42 Caps, 8 Goals (9 Caps, 1 Goal at Under-21 level)
If a team he inspires can win the Cup of Harmony, then why the hell not a full time coaching job for a World Cup winner (in the 47th edition) who was most famous for scoring in a rout against Rejistania for the Under-21s? So he may be getting very old and doesn't jump around on the touchline like he used to, but when he was around the first time, Starblaydia were awesome.

1. Grant Hansen, GK, 27 - Foxchester Raiders
12. Luis Maximiano, GK, 22 - Corinthian Spirits
19. Dean Prinns, GK, 19 - Hecia

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. Players are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

GOALKEEPERS:

[ 86 ] Hooizo Nuakoi [ - Turoki Tide (Vilita) - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Nuakoi, a dual Vilitan & Turorian national, entered World Cup 58 qualifying uncapped and undeclared for either Nation. Nuakoi was widely expected to openly declare Turorian Nationality going into the qualifying, but with the rise of rival Ronji Miiastara, Nuakoi decided to leave the door open to a Vilitan return should he remain uncapped for Turori. After spending Season 26 and 27 at Turoki Isle, Nuakoi made the move to the Yeaddin Owls midway through Season 27 to become their #1 keeper. Nuakoi returned to Turoki during Season 29, joining the Turoki Tide as they finished runners up in the Stellar Division. Nuakoi was important in the Tide's success in the Tropical Trophy, the clubs first major Top-Level silverware, before rising to prominence in the lore's of the opening of a new chapter of Sporting Success in Turoki. Nuakoi led the Tide to the Stellar Division championship during Seasons 32 and 33 before a remarkable run to defeat rivals Strike FC in the 40th Globe Cup Final for Turoki's first International club competition title. Nuakoi's performances in goal were critical as a 0-0 shutout performance in the final match gave the Tide a remarkable victory in the UICA Super Cup, the first Vilitan League side to lift the trophy.

[ 1 ] Ronji Miiastara [ - Kiiarana City (Vilita) - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 54 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Miiastara joined Marine Coast United in Vilita for their V-League 27 campaign in the Declasse, just the second ever for the club at that level. Miiastara was tasked with keeping the ball out of the net, and he did just that, helping lead Marine Coast United back to the Stellar Division at the first attempt leading up to V-League 28. After competing in the UICA 'B' Champions League, Marine Coast finished a respectable 7th place in the V-League but just missed out on a UICA place. Miiastara jumped ship to Kiiarana City in order to participate in the UICA Globe Cup prior to Season 29. While Kiiarana did not make the huge title push expected of them, Miiastara let in a career low 14 goals during Season 30, leading Kiiarana to a runner up finish in the Stellar Division and a place in the UICA Champions League.

[ 82 ] Mumau Atla-Siioai [ - Turoki United (Vilita) - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 5 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
A Dual Vilita & Turori National, Atla-Siioai was invited to the Vilitan World Cup 57 Training camp - but so were 6 other goalkeepers. Atla-Siioai transferred from the Kionao Locals to Vilitan side Turoki United for the V-League 27 season. While his play for Turoki was solid, the impact of Atla-Siioai's presence was most evident back in Turori as the Locals were relegated from the V-League with a club record 20 defeats. While showing the importance of having Atla-Siioai in the squad, the fact that the Goalkeeper left the Locals high and dry has not left a good impression on their Turorian fanbase. Atla-Siioai has, however, made a name for himself in Turoki, repeatedly being named Supporters Player of the Season and leading the team into UICA Competition places.

DEFENDERS:

[ 2 ] Yoains Konoaafeo [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 26 CAPS: 54 :: GOALS::SR: 4 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Konoaafeo was the top defensive product of the Yeaddin Academy and was expected to be part of the Vilitan national team set up due to this fact. However, after not being capped during World Cup 57 Qualifying, and learning of Turori's intention to enter World Cup 58, Konoaafeo switched allegiances both for club and country. After playing half of V-League 26 with the Kionao Locals, Konoaafeo moved to Cednia Beach AFC where he would lead the Coconut Kickers to their second V-League championship, being named Turorian player of the season in the process.

[ 3 ] Lioniaa Tana [ - Turoki Tide (Vilita) - ]
------- D/DM LC ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 52 :: GOALS::SR: 3 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Tana is one of the most athetlically skilled defensive players in the Turorian arsenal, although Tana's weakness shines in technical areas like heading and man to man marking. After starting their career at Vilitan side Rammsissil, Tana moved to Eastal Lunar FC during V-League 27, winning the Vilitan Cup with the team during Season 28 but relegation triggered a clause allowing Tana to return home to Turori with Cednia Beach AFC for Season 29. After a miserable campaign which saw Tana without Champions Cup competition, Tana joined the Turoki Tide for Season 34, doing so in time for their 43rd UICA Cycle run. The Tide lifted the UICA Globe Cup and UICA Super Cup, one of three Turorian players on the roster for the Tide's Triumph

[ 12 ] Diauro Dlaminii [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 46 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Dlaminii started his career at Vilitan lower league side Alona Sissil where he impressed greatly, warranting interest from all the top named V-League sides. Dlaminii eventually decided to head home to Turori, signing with Cednia Beach AFC where he competed in all of the clubs V-League 27 matches.

[ 5 ] Noa-isinao Wioauoi [ - Arcticala Inlet (Vilita) - ]
------- D RLC ( AGE: 23 CAPS: 9 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Noa-isinao Wioauoi ws a product of the Yeaddin Academy who caught the eye of one Yeaddin reporter at a training session doing ball handling tricks, and the shared video went viral, sparking a campaign including a fan website and even local town council requests to invite the youngster into the Vilita National Team training camp for World Cup 57. Wioauoi was invited to the camp, but never impressed coaches Massa and Wrice enough to be capped during the process. Wioauoi, born in Turori despite leaving in Vilita, accepted an invitation from the Football Association of Turori to train with them in preparation for a playing role in the World Cup 58 Qualifiers. Wioauoi has spent most of his career at Arcticala Inlet, though did make a brief stop in Turoki to play a season and a half with the Tide.

[ 4 ] Balariita Muzmaara [ - Kionao Locals - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 12 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Muzmaara, one of the youngest players ever invited to a Turorian National Team training camp (Ignoring the Cocoboas), joining the Terrarokka Spirit during Season 27. After spending seasons bouncing between the League and Amateur levels, Muzmaara finally moved to play full time for the Kionao Locla.s

[ 61 ] Moia Fliporta [ - Kiiarana City (Vilita) - ]
------- D/DM L ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Fliporta started their career at Laiotia Locals in the Non-League system of Vilita. Known for aerobic ability such as speed, acceleration and the ability to jump higher than most anyone on the pitch, Fliporta is otherwise not particularly great at the technical aspects of the game. After holding out to remain the star at non-league Laiotia City, Fliporta finally 'sold out' and moved to the Stellar Division to play for Kiiarana City.

UTILITY PLAYERS:

[ 22 ] Restiaa Mumamba [ - Turoki Tide (Vilita) - ]
------- ATH ( AGE: 23 CAPS: 52 :: GOALS::SR: 2 )
Mumamba was the definition of a versatile player for Vilita's Yeaddin Owls after joining them for the V-League 27 season from Jlinal Cove FC. Mumamba played in every position from Central Defender to Striker, scoring a game winning goal in one game and a game saving tackle in the next. Mumamba is an expert choice for a third sub or to allow tactical changes on the pitch without substitutions being made. The strong and versatile performances of Mumamba during Season 28 earned Mumamba a high profile transfer to defending Stellar Division champions Arcticala Inlet but he left the Electricians the following season to be apart of the growing Yeaddin Owls squad. Mumamba spent 4 seasons in Yeaddin without recording any meaningful domestic awards other than the Season 29 Turorian Player of the Season award. The lure of international competition was too great for Mumamba who joined the Turoki Tide for Season 34, doing so in time for their 43rd UICA Cycle run. Mumamba helpd the Tide lift the UICA Globe Cup and UICA Super Cup, one of three Turorian players on the roster for the Tide's Triumph

[ 22 ] Klaillal Tuirma [ - Kionao Locals - ]
------- ATH ( AGE: 15 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 )
Descendant of Season 4 Turorian Player of the Season and National team legend Cuolia Tuirma, Klaillal will work with Restiaa Mumamba to become the future "All-Around" player for the Turori National Team. Playing in a unique role, Tuirma will be expected to fill the role of being able to play every game, in every position - even Goalkeeper, if there are no subs left. Tuirma will certainly be starting as a substitute during their debut campaign in World Cup 62 but may get the chance to start against weaker opposition.

MIDFIELDERS:

[ 7 ] Rikko Rawaii [ - Arcticala Inlet (Vilita) - ]
------- AM C ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 55 :: GOALS::SR: 12 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Rawaii's dribbling ability coupled with lightning pace make him a threat any time he touches the ball, to create something even from nothing with a few quick moves. Rawaii is not known so much as a goalscorer, instead, an opportunity creator. Rawaii was named Player of the Year at Arcticala Inlet during Season 26 and was named Turorian player of the year during Season 27 when Inlet won the Tropical Trophy. Rawaii would win the Stellar Division with Arcticala Inlet during Season 29 finishing second in the goalscoring race.

[ 17 ] Cediici Tzatzos [ - Makosile (Vilita) - ]
------- M R ( AGE: 27 CAPS: 55 :: GOALS::SR: 3 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
A determined winger, Tzatzos is a product of the Strike Academy and remained a bit-part player for the club when the Vilitan League resumed for Season 26. Tzatsos was part of Strike's Stellar Division winning Season 27 side while being named Turorian Player of the Season, but when the success did not repeat itself during Season 28, Tzatzos was transfered to Kiiarana City. Looking to take a step back, Tzatzos moved across town to Kiiara-Torra in the Declasse division and helped to orchestrate a masterful promotion during season 33. Tzatzos would not stick around, however, looking to make the quick jump to the upper half of the table, signing for Makosile United.

[ 13 ] Vrotaoa Lorasoiba [ - Arcticala Inlet (Vilita) - ]
------- M C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 54 :: GOALS::SR: 6 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Lorasoiba's impressive performances for Turoki United, including 5 goals during the V-League 26 season, earned a high-value transfer to top Vilitan side Arcticala Inlet AFC. While it took Lorasoiba some time to get settled into life on the big Island, Lorasoiba's performances were enough to get an invitation to the Turori National Training camp for World Cup 58.

[ 6 ] Raso Tareak [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- M C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 49 :: GOALS::SR: 6 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Tareak joined Jlinal Cove FC in Vilita for V-League 26 helping the club to a respectable 8th place finish. In V-League 27, Tareak's peformances improved with a pair of goals helping Jlinal to an all-time best finish of 4th place in the standings. Tareak's impressive performances in Jlinal earned him a transfer, first to Turorian UICA Champions League representatives Cednia Beach AFC, then to the Yeaddin Owls for V-League 30 before moving to Jungle Strike FC

[ 38 ] Tiika Diirotora [ - Kiiarana (Vilita) - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 23 :: GOALS::SR: 3 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Diirotora is a dedicated and well travelled midfielder who made a name for themselves while leading Kiiarana City to the Vilitan Cup Final in V-League 27. After starting their career in the Liguon Valley, Diirotora made the leap to the Stellar Division for Season 27 and the move payed off with 4 goals and a post season transfer back home to Turori with mega-club Cednia Beach AFC. Diirotora spent a season at Makosile before joining Strike for Season 30.

[ 16 ] Rutaj Ranaso [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 23 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Ranaso moved from Turori to the nearby island of Turoki to play for Mavaloiao FC in the Vilitan Declasse when the league resumed for Season 26. After 2 strong seasons at the Declasse side, Ranaso joined Stellar Division side Eastal Lunar for V-League Season 28 and helped them win the Vilitan Cup despite relegation from the Stellar Division.

FORWARDS:

[ 8 ] Liinai Zakazaka [ - Jlinal Cove FC (Vilita) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 54 :: GOALS::SR: 24 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Zakazaka joined Jlinal Cove FC for the V-League 27 season and gained some attention back in Turori for their contribution to the 'Cove's impressive top-4 finish in the final standings. Zakazaka was named Jlinal Cove's top player during Season 28.

[ 18 ] Loala Kigoouao [ - Arcticala Inlet (Vilita) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 45 :: GOALS::SR: 17 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Kigoouao signed for Morata Valley FC for V-League 26 and instantly made an impact at the Vilitan club, earning Top Goalscorer honors in the Declasse while leading Morata Valley to Stellar Division Promotion. Kigoouao was unfazed by the higher level of competition, upping the goal count to 16 in Season 27 and firmly setting the expectation that they would be the go-to forward for the Turori National Team in World Cup 58. Kigoouao was named Morata Valley player of the season during Season 27 and 28. After many outstanding seasons at Morata Valley, Kigoouao joined the Turoki Tide for V-League 30.

[ 19 ] Jukkia Diijelhma [ - Kionao Locals - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 20 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Born in Starblaydia, Diijelhma moved to Turori following V-League Season 26 to pursue a new career in the Island Emirate. Diijelhma was one of the few Kionao Locals players in their disasterous V-League 27 season to receive even neutral reviews. Despite scoring no goals on the season, the Striker showed some skill that was required for the Locals to avoid another relegation in Season 28, and also proved to be useful for the Turori National team.

[ 9 ] Anuh Ciniima [ - Morata Valley (Vilita) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 30 :: GOALS::SR: 5 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Ciniima was born in Turori to Misrantian parents before moving to Vilita to study and train for his sporting career. The unselfish striker joined Morata Valley after their promotion to the Stellar Division for Season 27 as a compliment to Turorian Striker Loala Kigoouao. Ciniima, while able to put the ball in the net when needed, has shown to be an expert decision maker, recording twice as many assists as goals inside the box.

Assistant manager: Barra Mac Lochlainn, 42 y/o
Coach: Ardal Murray, 50 y/o

Kits

Traditionally the Ancharmunn & Aels team has had two different home kits, one for playing in Ancharmunn and one for playing in Aels. However in a move that hasn't gone down particularly well in the later nation the NSB upon taking control of the team has decided to dispense with the Aelsh kit. Thus the team will play mainly in a red and green kit inspired by the Charmunnry flag. When playing away from home and in the instance of a kit clash they will play in a predominantly white kit that also uses elements of the Charmunnry flag.

Image

Stadia

In another break from tradition introduced by the NSB the habit of Ancharmunn using various club grounds for home games will be dispensed with. Instead all games will be played in the two newly constructed national stadiums of the two capitals of Tyneala. In Ancharmunn the National Stadium in Ballyfeeaknock will be used, whilst in Aels the New Free Stone Stadium, recent host of the Rushmori Games will be used. Matches hosted by the stadiums are listed below.

Eilifint Bhán National Stadium – Ballyfeeaknock, Ancharmunn – 53,683
Lymnatatia – matchday 7
Kingdom of Phoenixia – matchday 10
Gyatso-Kai – matchday 11
Kandorith – matchday 13

New Free Stone – Drayfill, Aels – 32,000

Ground

One of the problems with having fallen out with the big clubs of Charmunnry football is that the Cumann Sacair an Tearmann no longer have access to the larger grounds within the country. Instead they've been left to make do with Green Island Caernankry's New Marlow Park. With a capacity of 1,000 it is likely to be one of the smallest venues currently used to host international football.

Kinitaria National Football Team
For the 62nd World Cup Qualification
Image

The FFK have announced that, for all tournaments after and including World Cup 62, they will name a more conventional 23-man squad, as opposed to the 26 that have featured in all prior competitions. Their aim for this tournament is to qualify for the World Cup, following two successive third-placed qualification finishes in their two entries to date.

Manager: Kristijan Evinov (age 58)
The first permanent manager of the national side following Tofiq Yurovič's departure prior to the last Cup of Harmony. His managerial experience so far has been with East Mi'ato United and Taimanesta in the Kinitar B-League, with both of his teams enjoying moderate success. Nevertheless, his appointment has raised some eyebrows around the country, with many fans casting doubt upon his qualifications, given that several other Kinitar managers seemed better-placed to take the national job. Evinov has declared that he will be judged on results, not rumours. He started off with a crushing 5-0 victory over Yelvoldia in a warm-up game, but his side then slumped to a 2-1 aggregate defeat in the now-established regular friendly series against Free South Califas. He has work to do to win over the undecided Kinitar fans.
Tactically, the norm at Taimanesta was for him to use an attacking 4-4-2 formation, which could become a 4-2-4 if necessary, the two wide midfielders pushing up to support the attack. If desperately clinging onto a lead, the plan seems to be one of all out defence, with as much time-wasting and hoofs into the stands as it is possible to cram into the end-game.

Players
Evinov has gone for experience rather than youth - of his chosen starting XI, not a single one of them has fewer than 40 caps. (Players numbered 1-11 are considered as the default starting XI.)

1. Costin Petran - GK - age 31 - 1. Maja - 63 caps - 0 goals
Petran is by far the overwhelming choice for the goalkeeping position, having held the #1 jersey almost permanently since the team played its first match. A superb shot-stopper, he is likely to consider each goal conceded as a personal insult. He played a key role in many of Kinitaria's victories in the World Cup qualifiers, and it is unlikely that he will be ousted from his position.

2. Karl Sala - LB - age 26 - Mi'ato - 53 caps - 1 goal
Sala has been an established member of the team right from their first game. An old-fashioned sort of left-back, he aims to make life hard for oncoming attackers, and will always stand his ground. He has been known to put in some harsh tackles, and this is shown by his disciplinary record, since he's been sent off four times in 53 appearances.

3. Doran Lupei - CB - age 28 - Litora United - 54 caps - 1 goal (Captain)
The loyal, talented defender is great at marking, sticking closely to his man and breaking up attacks through the middle. He's proven himself to be the anchor of a Kinitar back line which has often been criticised for being fragile, and his performance will likely be crucial if Kinitaria are to qualify for the World Cup. He's earned the captain's armband for both club and country through his loyalty, sticking with Litora United at a time when the club was going into meltdown.

4. Sebastien Sykora - CB - age 27 - AFC Damaciu - 44 caps - 1 goal
Maybe not the most technically gifted of defenders, Sykora has nevertheless established himself as a regular in the national side. He's no stranger to the occasional error, having cost Kinitaria crucial goals on at least two occasions during qualifying, and was part of the Damaciu side which slipped down the league in the latter half of last season. Despite this, he is versatile and can drift into new positions as needed, and he has also been known to notch a few goals himself, mainly headed efforts from corners.

5. Anton Spirlea - RB - age 25 - Mi'ato City - 55 caps - 0 goals
An accomplished team player and capable of performing under pressure, Spirlea is known for his excellent distribution of the ball, able to pick out a team-mate and start a counter attack with ease. He never panics when pressed and prefers to play his way out of trouble rather than hoofing the ball upfield. It's very rare to see him make a mistake and if he does have a flaw, it would be that he tends to let his complacency get the better of him. Expect to see him perform during qualification.

6. Sergiu Vacarestič - LW - age 24 - Avnani Athletic - 49 caps - 11 goals
Vacarestič is now an established member of the Kinitar squad, one of the first names on the teamsheet. He is an attacking-minded winger who slots perfectly into Kinitaria's formation, and he's just as likely to cut inside and have a go at goal as well as sending in a cross from the left - preferring to cross early and attempt to beat the offside trap.

7. Paulo Naoumov - DM - age 29 - AFC Farnworth (LCP) - 44 caps - 9 goals
Due to incidents in the Premier Division, Naoumov has always been a divisive figure for Kinitar fans, but he's made a lot of progress towards winning them back with some fine performances for the national side. The versatile midfielder prefers pace rather than distribution, his speed allowing him to beat opposing defenders or get on the end of a cross with ease. In his preferred DM role, the determined Naoumov refuses to back down from a challenge and can often be seen making life worse for oncoming attackers.

8. Kristijan Preda - CM - age 27 - Jan Mayen Islanders (PIS) - 42 caps - 7 goals
Another player who's mounting a strong challenge to a first-team place, Preda is an accomplished free-kick taker and can also head a ball well. After some time in the wilderness, he has impressed new boss Evinov in training and has won himself a spot in the first team. He might not be able to run a game himself, but his hard work and determination can make all the difference.

9. Lupan Mihalcič - SS - age 29 - Mi'ato City - 56 caps - 31 goals
One half of the greatest strike partnership in Kinitar football, Mihalcič has proven his quality over and over again. His best position is just behind the main striker - typically Sabčot - from which he can both score and create goals. He can time his runs perfectly to cut through the opposing defence, and prefers to hit a first-time shot rather than using a few valuable seconds to bring the ball under control. Certain to be hungry for more goals during the upcoming tournament.

10. Luka Sabčot - CF - age 28 - Mi'ato City - 59 caps - 49 goals
The man himself. The talisman, the hero, the legend of Kinitar football. Sabčot scores goals for fun, is an outstanding finisher and excellent in one-on-one situations. He's also a bit of a playboy and a joker, and likes to show off in an attempt to impress his many fans. In fact, some might say he's a bit too cocky. But then, with a record like his (including 68 goals in 75 games for his club, Mi'ato City), then he can afford to be. There's nothing he enjoys more - in footballing terms - than embarrassing a goalkeeper to set himself up for a tap-in from close range.

11. Emil Pročazka - RM - age 32 - 1. Maja - 49 caps - 7 goals (Vice-captain)
Pročazka is an excellent partner to Vacarestič. It's not uncommon to see the two wingers surge forward to bolster an attack, with Pročazka being the better of the two at crossing, but he's also capable of scoring a good goal. He has enough pace to beat any defender and remains a crucial part of Kinitaria's attacking plan.

12. Rumen Kaloyanov - DM - age 22 - Chyri - 2 caps - 0 goals
The tall Kaloyanov can provide backup to a defence with his height, and he'll challenge for every ball, but his lack of experience means he's unlikely to feature much in World Cup qualifying. Definitely one for the future, and he's trying to make a breakthrough in the national squad.

13. Vitya Jelen - GK - age 32 - Amzterdam FC (CYB) - 2 caps - 0 goals
Jelen faces a problem common to goalkeepers - he's the second best keeper in the country, behind Petran, but he has no way of dislodging his rival from the country's #1 slot. Having put some inconsistency problems behind him, he's proven to be excellent at stopping 1-on-1 shots and has shown great distribution of the ball. He tends to flap at crosses, but is a determined and reliable team player.

14. Milan Beskid - CF - age 23 - Basil FC (FSS) - 7 caps - 1 goal
The talented young striker can finish like no other and functions best with a strike partner to spur him on to greater heights. He's not one for spectacular goals, instead, he's a consistent threat to opposition defences if he gets so much as a sight of goal within the penalty area. He's getting noticed in the national setup now, and scored his first goal in the 5-0 rout of Yelvoldia in a pre-qualification friendly.

15. Samuel Costica - CM - age 21 - Inovita - 6 caps - 0 goals
Another inexperienced player, one of the few youth team players to feature in Evinov's squad, he's still developing as a player and won't really play much of a role in qualification, but if he does come on, expect him to try to use his pace to beat his marker before spreading the ball out wide to launch an attack. Distribution is definitely one of his strong points.

16. Yulian Kovačev - CB - age 35 - Mi'ato - 53 caps - 7 goals
The former captain is making his last appearance at a major tournament, having cabled his intention to retire following the end of the current cycle. He's still a fairly capable player, able to contribute to the team's cause with some tough tackling and good distribution. On the other hand, his pace isn't what it once was, and he might struggle to last in a high-intensity game. He'll make a very effective substitute.

17. Čyran Malpomir - CF - age 31 - Mi'ato - 21 caps - 6 goals
Malpomir is an outstanding striker, but the dominance of Mi'ato City's strike partnership makes it difficult for him to force his way into the team. He might play a role in a 4-3-3, which Kinitaria have been known to use if they desperately need goals, but otherwise will mainly act as backup to the two main strikers. He's very gifted as a technical player, and will often tend to try to beat players in the penalty area and open up a clear path for a shot on goal.

18. Ciprian Marin - CB - age 21 - Universita Tirinthea - 8 caps - 0 goals
Marin came to the attention of former boss Yurovič after a solid performance for Tirinthea, and has continued to impress in training since then. Billed as a talent for the future, Marin has impressed in his two friendly appearances, but is unlikely to make a huge impact on the national game straight away. He still has much to learn, and if given a game, is likely to think rashly and dive into challenges without thinking. Might get half a game as a sub if Kinitaria are dominating.

19. Cyril Novak - LB - age 28 - Mowling City Tigercats (NSI) - 18 caps - 0 goals
Novak suffered a horror injury against Eastfield Lodge in the previous qualification campaign, but upon his return, established himself as one of the top defenders in the Premier Division. The bruising left-back plays hard but fair with no quarter given to opponents, a great sense of timing allowing him to stop attacks dead with a perfectly executed tackle.

20. Leon Cantacuzino - LM - age 29 - Litora United - 35 caps - 8 goals
Litora are lucky that they managed to keep Cantacuzino, because he is an effective all-round player, able to score and create goals in equal measure. When he plays, he'll be the team's corner taker, since he can swing in a good ball from either the left or the right. He prefers to stay wide, use the flanks and cross from the byline, and he can do this very effectively to slice open an opposing defence. Kinitaria's super-sub, in a way. He can change the direction of a game almost single-handedly.

21. Jaren Kozak - GK - age 27 - Mi'ato - 0 caps - 0 goals
What does a third choice keeper actually do? They're just there to take up space, really. A decent keeper for Mi'ato, but... third choice nationally. So he almost certainly won't feature. The only member of this squad to be uncapped.

22. Vikenti Andonov - RB - age 30 - Litora United - 29 caps - 0 goals
Andonov has been constantly in and out of a first team spot since his first call-up, but has been frozen out of the squad fairly often. Whether he'll get a chance in the qualifiers remains to be seen. The tall, well-built defender has been known to intimidate opponents with both his stature and his playing style, given that a trick he likes to use on opposing players involves a sneaky foul on the blind side of the referee. He's a physical player, not a skilful one.

23. Vadim Reneiči - CM - age 20 - Mi'ato - 1 cap - 0 goals
The youngest player to be named in this squad, and well known to Evinov from his time at Tirinthea before his big-money move to Mi'ato, Reneiči was part of Yurovič's famous youth team which held Polar Islandstates to a 0-0 draw away in the last qualifiers. Since then, he's shown incredible improvement and was snapped up by the cup holders in the last transfer window.

Kits
ImageImageImage

Left (home): Halved shirts are a common sight on the field of play. Halved shorts... not so much. Someone at the FFK thought it was a good idea.
Center (away): An unusual design incorporating the national colours on the sleeves. If the team win anything in it, it'll become a cult classic kit, otherwise, consigned to the scrapheap.
Right (goalkeeper): National goalkeeper Costin Petran wears a striking orange and black outfit for the coming World Cup.

Stadium
Image
Central Stadium, Mi'ato
Capacity 76,000

A purpose-built modern stadium in the centre of Kinitaria's capital, Mi'ato. The Central Stadium hosts all of Kinitaria's home matches. Visiting teams should note that a maximum of 6,000 tickets are made available to away supporters, with seats located in a segregated area in the top of the upper bowl. This is a prime location to throw things at the home fans, however, it's also a prime location to have things thrown back.

Fans
Image
Kinitar fans burn flares during the 4-1 Cup of Harmony victory over Audioslavia

Kinitar fans are known for their passion. They're also known for burning down a significant portion of the Tricorn Arena in Wight during the Cup of Harmony, although the FFK has naturally disavowed all responsibility, and supporters' groups maintain that the shoddy construction of the host stadium was to blame. Either way, lighting flares is a part of fan culture in Kinitaria, and there's always the possibility that a Kinitaria goal will turn the air thick with smoke. During the match, the team are typically roared on by 70,000 home fans screaming themselves hoarse non-stop throughout the game, which creates an intimidating atmosphere for visiting teams - although the fact that the aforementioned flares, among other things, are sometimes thrown at visiting players or fans might also contribute to this. The fights which characterise some of the most fierce club matches, such as the cross-capital derby between hated rivals Mi'ato City and Mi'ato, have yet to make their way to international level, although some say that this is merely because they haven't found the right spark yet. The FFK has been somewhat reluctant to take action against such matters, because "it's all part of the game, isn't it?"

Former Oasirican Republic of Ossidiacqua
Image
Roster for World Cup 62

Image

ESSENTIAL BACKGROUND:
Ossidiacqua is a nation coming blinking into the light of the international community. In what seems like mere years ago for most nations, as Oasirica, they sent a team to the Baptism of Fire. Meanwhile, at home, with a terrible disease name la Plaga ravaging the country, the academics of the nation prepared to put up a time wall around the central hospital that would allow medics and scientists on the inside to spend months developing a cure or vaccine for la Plaga, whilst only days passed outside the time wall, allowing the maximum population to be saved. However, it went wrong, and the time wall surrounded the entire nation, cutting off the baptism of fire squad. Months passed outside the wall, whilst inside it, la Plaga decimated the native population, leaving Djocorangan refugees in the nation untouched, ensuring they became the primary caregivers and nation re-builders.

The time wall eventually dissipated after 270 years, labelled 'The Pause Time' by those inside the wall, revealing the nation of Ossidiacqua to the world for the first time. It was a much changed place, the weather, land, and cities had all changed, and the genetic heritage of the population had shifted from 99% Oasirican and 1% Other, to 97% Djocorangan and 3% Old Oasirican and the paragraphs below the roster go some way to explaining some of what has happened as a consequence. You are also encouraged to read the series of RPs written during Oasirica's BoF, as they will provide a lot of back story that informs this complicated nation:
Cabinet One
Cabinet Two
Cabinet Three
Cabinet Four
Cabinet Five
Cabinet Six
Cabinet Seven

The Acquan game has been cut off from the rest of the multiverse for 270 years, and as such has developed a unique flavour and style of its own. Short passes, keeping possession, and running are the key to the majority of play, with Acquan teams keen to instil a sense of duty in their players that leads to any of them being able to play or deputise in any other position during the course of a match. The players are very capable with the ball, and have developed tricks and flicks enough to bamboozle any opponent, way ahead of their time as far as the rest of the multiverse is looking at it. However, they have much to learn about the way the rest of the footballing community plays their game, and with the Acquan game developing a far higher tolerance for rough and tumble, even the silkiest of attacking forwards (and in this squad there are four outstanding interchangeable strikers) can find themselves sent off for an illegal tackle that would have been perfectly legal in the Acquan leagues. Therefore, it would be of great help to me if you could RP my team as technically gifted, but tactically naive, and as far as international standards go, incredibly violent. Thank you.

Home Stadium: An archaic stone construction in the centre of Sant'Elia, Il Colosseo. Lit by oil lamps and featuring vast walls of stained glass, it seats 103,450 and is a treasured landmark, being one of the first building built by Acquans following the eradication of la Plaga, as the nation began to reinvent itself during the Pause Time.

FURTHER BACKGROUND:
The land of Oasirica was a large and beautiful one. After suffering the ravages of an unpredictable climate and loss of knowledge during the Pause Time, it has been transformed by the Djocorangan survivors of la Plaga into the Former Oasirican Republic of Ossidiacqua. Consisting of one main island and a handful of surrounding smaller ones, it can be found towards the north-west of the Vatmark region of Rushmore. The capital city of Sant'Elia is by far the biggest conurbation, and it whilst it used to shine with its golden spires and silver domes, it is now a shambolic and chaotic mix of alleyways and squares and piazzas, though the Acquans are making every effort to restore the city to its former glory, even getting the steam powered monorail back up and running, and employing a dirigible courier service.

Clean running water used to flow across the land and around the cities in an extensive network of aqueducts, channels, and canals. The continued eruption of volcanoes in the large Patriarchate of Vul in the east of the country during the Pause Time has affected this however, located over extensive mineral deposits as they were. These deposits included a huge amount of obsidian, obsidian that was distributed through the land in huge quantities, tainting the water, and giving the nation its new name. The water the flows is now nearly jet black in colour, and requires extensive treatment before it can be used as drinking water, leading the Acquans to rely on condensers that extract moisture from the dry air and from boiled off water vats often situated near rivers. These condensers often break, and are fixed by tech-priests who use mainly copycat work and guesses accompanied by some rather frenzied prayer rather than any informed ability to fix and maintain the machines, the knowledge for which died with the rapid spread of la Plaga. The weather is taking longer to recover from the time wall than expected, and the land whilst not particularly hot, is still exceptionally dry. The Oasiricans were a highly educated and cultured race, and the fall and loss of knowledge is embarrassing to the Acquans.

The patriarchate governmental system has moved from the old religion to one offering praise to a mechanical deity of no name, only various titles, with tech-priests and those in the Magisterium holding a high amount of respect. Since the dubious death of the former president, it is the maniacal Grand High Cardinal Giocomo Re who is in charge of the country, supposedly on an interim basis.

Football in Ossidiacqua is the national sport, and support is fanatical, with excitement only increasing in intensity thanks to the recent successful hosting of the Baptism of Fire alongside Iturributa. The Campiocinato continued during the Pause Time as a way to keep spirits up and has been running for 314 seasons as the football league structure in the country, with three divisions, A-Liga, B-Liga, and C-Liga. The league has dominated by the three big Sant'Elia clubs; CA Conquistadores (67 Campiocinatos), Condensadores CD (62), Caballeros CF (58), as well as by Qolo-Qolo (47). Internazionale (23), Atletico Sant'Elia (17), Unión Gimignano CF (17), AS Débardeurs Nationale (11), Magisterio AC (9), Académica di Terrabianco (4), RCD San Marco (1), Clube Cobreloa (1), and FC Sommieres Hibernia (1) are the other clubs to have sealed a title so far. Most big clubs are represented in the selection of players to go to the Cup of Harmony, as they were for the BoF and qualifying campaign, with captain Ricardo Velasquez, descendant of the legendary captain Stefano Velasquez, looking to unite the usually very partisan fans of the Sant'Elia clubs so that they may get behind and support the team.

Manager
Seydiya At’rod’uin (Andossa Se Mitrin Vega) (F)
Age: 35
Seydiya proved more than a capable manager in her first three Cups in charge, but with the pressure mounting on her with the hosting of the World Cup, this Vegan proved to be among the elite of managers. Securing an unbeaten record and a record setting performance in the Final, Seydiya brought home Valanora's record tying fifth world cup trophy in style. Now she looks to do what so few in history have, repeat as champions and in doing so, give Valanora the record as the best footballing nation of all time.

Assistant Manager
Clin Massai
Age: 10, 802
The mind behind Hondo FC's rise to power, he is another one of the assistants who plays mediator between the manager and the staff. With another title on the books for the Marauders, as well as a domestic title with Hondo, and under Massai's helpful guidance, he is looking for his own chance at a head managerial position in the international scene.

Keeper

Veryasirion Dart, Raynor City United
1 GK
Age - 674
Sex - M
Height: 6'2"
Weight: 181lbs
The back up who has finally been given a chance to show that his success at the domestic level is no fluke. Making the key saves with impressive reflexes and positioning, Dart has proven to be a solution to what had been a usual weakness for Marauder sides.

Defenders

2 Ainglad Gwavaul, Ousevale Borough (Krytenia) ~
Age - 658
Sex - M
Height: 5'10"
Weight: 140 lbs
A hybrid defender who can play as a wingback or a full back. One of the more aggressive defenders to make it on the team and will take chances to go up the flank and use his exceptional crossing ability to generate attacking opportunities.

3 Amonron Eleneth, AC Valanari
Age - 682
Sex - M
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 171 lbs
Quick for his size, Eleneth is the prototypical centerback who stymies any and every foray opposition bring into the box.

4 Thankanion Elenelwa, Mar Sara FC
Age - 618
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 180 lbs
A strong and physical presence that will put some bite into the backline alongside Titenburg.

Midfield

21 Espy va Drake, Yuba United (Paripana)
Age: 735
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 159 lbs
After becoming a folklore hero for the lower class of the world, va Drake has made himself one of the living legends of the game after help leading the side to a title in World Cup 53. He has traveled far and wide while plying his trade, donning kits for no less than four countries clubs, and finally returned him when he signed with United before last season. Seen as the driving force in the middle of the park alongside Hawk, it is up to the opposition to try and figure out how to deal with the brilliance the winger and his other attackers have rather than them to create magic.

6 Aintôrthea Durosa, Royal Rumiatzi (Astograth)
Age - 744
Sex - F
Height: 5"10"
Weight: 144 lbs
Durosa is one of those players that can play just about any position, as her skill set is vast and adequate in multiple areas. She has done exceptionally well in her CMSC seasons, nabbing goals and assists with regularity and continued with her transfer to the Cafundeu league yet to be seen how the shift to Astograth will effect her game however. Her good knowledge of va Drake's typical playing patterns has made the two to be a devastating pair for the opposition to contain.

14 Laborious Hawk, Urbizania Wanderers (Astograth)
Age - 699
Sex -M
Height: 6'5"
Weight: 213 lbs
Words do not even began to define his talent, his talent defines words. He was awarded one of the spots that the Vanorians have in the World Cup Hall of Fame, with it being very well deserved, as he has and continues to earn everything he has been given every single day.

8 Morronuth Neltanta, Wexax United ~
Age - 730
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 164 lbs
A strong and physical player who uses his body well when shielding off opposing players off the ball. Lacks the pace of some of the squad but is great at keeping possession and finding an outlet pass.

28 Faeron Soldarian, Raynor City United
Age - 613
Sex - M
Height: 6'1"
Weight: 163 lbs
Soldarian continues to live in the shadow of more well known players both on the national team and with his club. Despite this, Soldarian is seen by all on the squad as the emotional leader and the linchpin the in the middle that allows the more attacking minded midfielders being allowed to play their game.

Strikers

9 Allandren Fresco, Ibini FC
Age - 488
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 167 lbs
Fresco has proved once again that he is suited for any role that his managers wish to give him, easily adjusting to Hearts style of play and learning his preferred moves. A great shot and football IQ make him a very dangerous attacker for the Marauders.

10 Tûrin Aerataur, Hondo FC ~
Age - 764
Sex - M
Height: 5'11"
Weight: 156 lbs
Long has he been Hearts strike partner at Hondo, now that he has replaced the legendary striker on the national team and he has made use of his dynamic shot to keep the sting of the Vanorian attack strong, if not stronger than it ever has been before.

Subs
13 GK Draugwë Nororon - age 789 - Mar Sara FC (M)
20 GK Belltarion Nartalhûn - age 704 - AC Valanari (M)

Manager: Sir James Handel Age: 47

The Style

The Formation: 3-5-2 (-1 Style Modifier)

The Yesopalithan game has started to become one based on solid defense and rapid counterattacks that catch the other side off balance. The side wingers in the midfield are responsible for helping out the defense as much as required and to push the ball up to the middle three midfielders and the two forwards. There won't be many close-up goals, and headers are almost unheard of except via corner kicks. For Yesopalitha to win by more than two goals in a game is for the team to have a good offensive game. On defense, they concentrate on keeping the ball away from the penalty box; if this means committing a foul and giving up a free kick, they'll give up that free kick. At times, the goalkeeper is called to be the lone man guarding the net, and he/she must be able to face one-on-one situations...

There is also a third kit, which is mostly gold, if neither of these is suitable.

Firstly, the NSWiki page is not complete, but still worth a look...

It's important to note that the team itself generally doesn't consciously defend. They press high up the pitch though and try to win the ball back as quickly as possible.

They will slow down when ahead later in the game, but only so they don't unnecessarily provide opportunities to lose possession and/or concede. This doesn't mean they wont take the opportunity to score if it presents itself, though...

Set piece preferences (in order):
Corner kick takers: Whichever wingers/wide forwards are on the pitch
Penalty takers: Maria di Corradi, Connor McCarthy, Serenity Lewis
Free kick takers: Gilberto Cuellar, Alessandro di Corradi, Azarai Robinson
Long free kicks: Connor McCarthy, or the goalkeeper (for offsides, really)

You don't have to stick to that, though. It just fits in better with the way I intend to RP my team (when I can).
Generally the team will focus on Lewis winning the ball deep centre, and driving forward. If there is no space to do so, expect her to try and spread play to the wings. The team will have a slight preference toward attacking down the left, though goals can come from any one of the front six, really. Least likely is McLean (ironically) as he will drop into midfield more than attack the box. McLaren, and Maria di Corradi, on the other hand are out-and-out predatory strikers who will score for fun when in the team.
If there is an attacking midfielder on the pitch, they will likely operate as a "false ten" in tandem with a forward dropping deep. Effectively they will be most likely to get onto the end of passes in the final third, and thus score goals. Though Alessandro di Corradi works much better when making those passes. For his sister, usually. His advancing years have not lessened his athleticism as much as many would expect, either.

My RP Permissions are pretty chill to be honest.
Pretty much anything goes, I only ask that you let me decide the severity of any injuries you decide to RP for me, please.
Send my players off if you must -- if its a player I really didn't wanna lose for the next game, I'll RP an appeal or something.
Oh and at the risk of sounding a bit "RAWR" ... do not kill any of my players or coaching staff (unless I say go ahead via TG).
Killing fans is okay though. Go nuts with that if you like.

Most likely to...
Score a goal: Gilberto Cuellar or Roque Urbina
Win a free kick: Gilberto Cuellar or Felix McLean
Take (and score) that free kick: Gilberto Cuellar
Win a penalty: Gilberto Cuellar
Take (and score) that penalty: Connor McCarthy
Miss a penalty: Tara Perry
Score a header off a set piece: Connor McCarthy
Score an own goal: Connor McCarthy
Hack an opponent down: Brent Steele
Lose their head and get sent off: Tomas Urena
Commit a professional foul: Tomas Urena or Me'nu Katuli'ha
Argue with the referee: Sean McCarthy
"Disappear" during a match: Lynette Fields
"Put in a shift": Serenity Lewis or Azarai Robinson
Have an elaborate goal celebration planned out: Gilberto Cuellar or Latrell McLaren
Get caught stumbling out of a nightclub: Latrell McLaren or Sean McCarthy
Do charity work: Lia D'Ortona or Serenity Lewis
Illicit marriage proposals from fans: Gilberto Cuellar, Tara Perry or Maria Di Corradi

Something that is important to know is that football isnt the number on sport in Osarius. Its second, to GraviBall.
Footballers are loved if they make tough tackles -- case in point, Connor McCarthy; and before him, Georgina Carsley -- because the combative nature of the game is what the fans like. Very passionate, are Osarian fans, you see.
Sooo... basically, if you're not scoring goals or making crunching tackles, the fans aren't impressed. That goes for opponents too... Osarian fans always appreciate a good tackle, so they will even applaud opposition players at times (although they will boo their goals, obvs).

From time to time I'll make reference to the area a player is from, and when I do, I will try to add an OOC note to explain what it means, because different regions of Osarius have almost entirely different cultures. For example, Tubrissian people's habits and sayings are heavily based on Phoenician/Carthaginian culture and religious beliefs.

Manager: Amandeep Sahota
In a somewhat surprising move -- to those not familiar with Sahota's philosophy anyway -- the Firebirds squad is largely the same "under 25" side sent to participate in the last AOCAF Cup in Geisenfried. Sahota has supplemented the enthusiastic youngsters with some experienced heads he knows he can trust, and will now seek to return Osarius to the World Cup finals. His flexible frontline approach seems to be working out though, with various combinations up front providing plenty of goals. There is still a hint of defensive frailty in the Osarius squad, which Sahota attempts to cloak with stellar offensive play, however, as is his modus operandi.

Assistant Manager: Ishmael Walker
In a complete turnaround of opinion, Walker's stock has risen dramatically after emerging as a key member of the backroom team during the Firebirds' run to the final of AOCAF Cup 36, and the moderate successes of the last World Cup qualifying campaign. Walker's ability to form a strong rapport with the players has been praised most, as he has been better able to focus on working with the team and not the media management duties associated with the manager position.

Coaches: Maurice Simmons, Jeffrey Allen, Gerald Cole
Simmons, Allen and Cole are all highly-regarded coaches within Osarian football, who attained their Professional Coaching licenses at the same time as previous manager Alain Montblanc. Sahota worked alongside them at the Olympics a while back, and has a good working relationship with all three. They all offer traits often cited as being required in elite coaches, and enjoy a strong rapport with the players, which has contributed heavily to Sahota's decision to retain their services.

Specialist Coaches: Onyibo Oduoza (goalkeeping), Claudio Traga (fitness)
Oduoza once trained under the now-legendary Enzo Corradini at Hollybrent, and is credited with turning Orlando Florian into the legendary keeper he became. A cerebral man, Oduoza sometimes employs strange methods to bring out the best in his charges, and to develop vital skills. Few can argue with his results, however. Traga, on the other hand, is perhaps best known among sports fans back home for his past career as a Boxer. Upon retirement, Traga's love of sport led him to study sports science at Utica University, where he learnt to combine his boxing experience with science know-how to develop fitness regimes for professional sportsmen (and women). His system, The Lightstrike Method, is used in most professional sports clubs in Osarius as a major part of training, particularly during the off-season.

Medical Staff: Daniel Chambers (physiotherapist), Dr. Sarah Bocchetti (team doctor)
Chambers and Bocchetti are also old friends of the former manager, Benedict di Corradi, but their stock within the OFA is high. Both have excellent reputations among the players, too, making them invaluable members of the backroom staff.
