Zandistani Men's National Team

Three years removed from their triumph in Ossidiacqua at the 48th Baptism of Fire and two years removed from a World Cup Qualifying campaign that saw Zandistan finish 7th in their group, the ZNFA has once again prepared a team with aspirations of a finish in the upper half of their group. The squad looks significantly different from the old campaign, but the strongest mainstays and scorers remain.

Zandistan is still a football-crazed nation, cheering on their team in hopes of another triumph, although they realize to some extent the inexperience of their national team as compared to others. There has been some distraction inside the country however. In the northwest corner of Zandistan, around the city of Vuihi Temple, a minority group, the Zanditos, have started a small uprising. They have their organization center inside of Vuihi Temple, but a large number of Zanditos have infiltrated the area around Krumping Bay and are causing significant havoc. The Zanditos clash with the Zandistani police and military often. However, the ZNFA has prepared their qualifying team with many players of Zandistani heritage and of Zandito heritage. There is much doubt over whether or not the team will be able to jell and produce favorable results. The country’s tension will likely be reflected in the performance of their football squad.

STARTING XI

GK - 12 - age 26 - Juan Sánchez de la Mega (capped in BoF 48, WCQ 61)
A huge beast with near superhuman strength, he is supremely acrobatic in the goalmouth. De La Mega comes from the Zandito region in northwest Zandistan and supports them fervently. Whether or not he would purposely hurt Zandistani results is an unanswered question.

RB - 17 - age 24 - Scratch Tzingotürk (capped in BoF 48, WCQ 61)
A young wing back off the streets of Coastal Zandar, Zandistan’s capital, he was never thrilled with the way the government treated him and his cronies, he will take nearly any chance to support the Zanditos.

CB - 15 - age 21 - Ing Steen (capped in BoF 48, WCQ 61 as Ingmeier Britzlstein)
Ing, very young for a center back, was one of the boys in Tzingotürk’s crew but always was fascinated with the government workings. He felt it was his own decision to be on the streets, and takes great pride in his Zandistani homeland.

CB - 4 - age 30 - Anthony Morris-Kalamazoo (uncapped)
Better known as Tony-mo, Morris-Kalamazoo has been tasked with holding together the back line, especially the young boys Tzingotürk and Steen. Despite having no previous international experience, he has plenty at the club level and is a strong player. When asked, he says he has no preference but he leans slightly more toward Zandistan than the Zandito rebels.

LB - 3 - age 27 - Avisajj Bunfogle (capped in BoF 48, WCQ 61)
An expert at stealth, Bunfogle moves around the field largely silently, so Zandistan’s opponents frequently lose track of where he is. In fact, he is so sneaky that nobody on the team or elsewhere knows if he is a Zandito or Zandistan supporter.

CDM - 6 - age 25 - Melreund Mingot (capped in WCQ61)
A less experienced midfielder than the others, he is unquestionably the weaker link in the Zandistani midfield, and also a Zandistani. He is also somewhat annoying on and off the pitch, provoking opponents and even sometimes teammates into fights.

LCM - 23 - age 26 - Melbrue Tangari (capped in BoF 48, WCQ 61)
Tangari plays with a flair for the game unmatched by most, but was moved in from the wing to bring more experience into the starting lineup, namely van Oolsjoy, and solidify the starting midfield. Still, he is expected to transition seamlessly as he makes spectacular passes and has amazing dribble-moves. A potential breakout star, he too favors the Zanditos.

RCM - 8 - age 26 - Travestino Bellucci (capped in BoF 48, WCQ 61)
Bellucci, another star midfielder, is the son of a Zandito father and Zandistani mother, who married before the conflict escalated. He grew up in Krumping Bay, and his childhood neighborhood is currently the site of some gunfights, and all Bellucci wants is for the conflict to end immediately.

LWM - 7 - age 25 - Nikolaas van Oolsjoy (capped in BoF 48, WCQ 61)
Van Oolsjoy has been promoted to the starting lineup for the first time after sizzling as a substitute in two previous tournaments. Son of immigrants who arrived in Fortunata, he is a fierce supporter of the Zandistani government and cause against the rebellious Zanditos.

ST - 9 - age 23 - Flavio Domingo (capped in BoF 48, WCQ 61)
A pure talent, Domingo has a penchant for scoring beautiful golazos, but his Zandito roots, despite his Zandistani upbringing have caused him great internal conflict. It is unknown whether or not he will be able to focus on the upcoming qualifying campaign and lie up to the brilliant form he has shown in previous tournaments, or even play at all.

RWM - 20 - age 22 - Jimmy-Phillip McRae (capped in BoF 48, WCQ 61)
Easily the fastest member of the team, McRae is young and speedy and loves breaking down the wing, and may have to compensate some on offense if Domingo struggles. He is a true Zandistani, probably the most skilled non-Zandito player on the team.

Substitutes:

GK - 18 - age 28 - Wilfried Thomas (rostered BoF 48, WCQ 61, no caps)
Thomas, a Zandistani, is only on the roster in case of strange circumstances or injuries felling de la Mega, but he has never shown even basic proficiency in the goal, almost always giving up huge quantities of goals.

RB - 2 - age 25 - Cameron Wills (uncapped)
Wills would have been on the BoF 48-winning roster and the team sent to the qualifiers if not for a horrific injury to his right tibia. He is still recovering, and he is expected to gain a few starts, as somewhat of a test. Wills is a Zandistani, causing even more tension as he competes with a Zandito starter.

CB - 5 - age 25 - Josué Calderón (uncapped)
Calderón is one of the few Zanditos on the team’s bench, and sits behind two Zandistanis. He does not have as fierce anti-Zandistani sentiments as some of his Zandito counterparts, but he would do almost anything to see more playing time.

CM - 10 - age 23 - Kirk Waldimer (uncapped)
Waldimer is more of an attacking central midfield and could see some more time if Domingo plays poorly, but is also not bad at the defensive center position. He is Zandistani, but tolerates Zanditos and is bothered by the conflict.

ST - 11 - age 31 - Yuri Radonezh-Muratovich (capped in BoF 48, WCQ 61)
A beastly, brutal, physical Zandito forward, he punishes opposing defenses and even sometimes hurts his own teammates in practice…especially those evil Zandistanis. With age, he has moved to the bench, but still expects a prime substitute role.

Zandistan is switching their formation this campaign, playing a 4-5-1 that pushes easily into a 4-3-3

COACHING STAFF

Head Coach - age 42 - Drago Vilisević
He infuses energy into his players constantly and the team views him as the perfect coach, although he has the extremely difficult job of bringing together the Zanditos and Zandistanis, between whom exist much animosity. The ZNFA is very confident in is ability to do so.

Assistant Coach - age 51 - Boonerand Rommendell
He often works quietly in the background but keeps the team together, fleshing out small disputes among the players. Still, the players do not trust him as much as they do Vilisević, so his role may be diminished, but he is responsible for training and making the players fit.

Public Relations - age 29 - Jacques Coleman
A young reporter, Coleman is responsible for press releases after games, as well as other announcements regarding incidents or gunfights between Zandistanis and Zanditos.

Warkus National Football Team

Manager: Victor Vos
Captain: Ceri Owens
Formation: 4-3-3
Style Modifier: +3

And so it begins. Hopefully we'll get a more respectable failure this time around.

Starting XI

Goalkeeper: #1 Llyr Powell

The young 20-year-old is making his second qualifiers this time. Pundits consider him to have amazing potential for a Warkus players, and average potential for any other nation. Yeah. Even the unranked ones.

Full Back: #38 Wynne Priddy

Priddy is pretty boring. There is almost nothing interesting about him, other than the fact that he's the youngest Warku player in history. He's below average, but Vos trusts that he will improve in time.

Centre Back: #18 Emrys Griffith

Emrys has had a recent problem with consistency. Sometimes being average, sometimes a key player and sometimes being completely and utterly useless. He'll have to sort things out if he wants to stay in the team.

Centre Back: #3 Gwenith Efa

Finally managing to impress with her performances in the Di Bradini Cup and as a substitute for the first team, Gwenith is getting her chance to shine for the squad. But will she perform?

Full Back: #00 Iwan Rhys-Evans

Iwan, the 17-year-old sensation. Iwan is still a viral online sensation, known for being large and strong, with the nickname "Mae'r tanc anhygoel" (The incedible tank).

Left Midfielder: #9 Ceri Owens

24-year-old Ceri Owens stars as the captain once again. Notable for his leadership and ball control, Owens is likely to keep up a good performance. However, you never know what might happen in the World Cup.

Centre Midfielder: #15 Elwyn Dafis

Dafis has proven himself to be a useful member to the squad at the previous World Cup. However, pressure is rising and we can only predict whether he will crumble under it, or become stronger from it.

Right Midfielder: #22 Peredur Selwyn

Selwyn is another player known for his inconsistencies. Despite that, he's an amazing player when he plays well and looks to have secured his spot in the starting XI for the time being.

Left Winger: #10 Morgan Rees

Rees has lost his role as the secret weapon. Players are becoming very cautious when facing him and his performance is suffering harshly as a result. He's going to have to fight his way to victory if he doesn't want his position in danger.

Centre Forward: #7 Trystan Llwyd

Llwyd is the classic superstar. Every nation has one, and Llwyd is no different. Fast, accurate, powerful, he's pretty much amazing. Although one may never understand the suffering that a godmodded legend like him must go through.

Right Winger: #99 Cynfael Trevor

Trevor is another superstar. Not particularly great at anything other than his running and crosses, but hey, he's pretty decent.

Substitutes
GK - Meic Cadwallader
CB - Gwenith Efa
CM - Mikel Johnson
RM - Cei Jones
LW - Wyn Kendrick

Kits
Designed by the Audioslavian company, Kirola Sportswear.

Home/Away/Third(Goalkeeper): Image

Stadia:

The main stadium used will be the Nyaky Gromen. It can hold around 45,000 away visitors and has very good facilities, due to it being built recently and government funding towards it. It's also near some of the local pubs, so expect a few drunken brawls and maybe a riot or two if a game is held at night.

Notes:

People from Warkus are known as Warku.

The team is very offensive in terms of their style of play. This includes their defence, which means that they can occasionally cause a few injuries. Despite this, the team isn't known for dirty play. They consider things such as diving to be pathetic and insulting to the perpetrator's own skill, showing that they are rubbish without cheating. Victor Vos, the manager, is a cult hero within Warkus. Vos was, in fact, a pretty decent player, but has been considered to be wasted potential. However, he didn't match up to the greats of the world, although fans would say he did. Fans will often compare Vos with greats such as Juan Tzimisces, Simeone Di Bradini and Ug-Ug. Please do not take offence at this, as Victor Vos is regarded to be one of the best players to have lived, despite his poor record and average skills.

High Heels National Football Team
The Foxes

The tales of the tower full of hot girls that won the under-21 World Cup are a couple of years old now. Despite obvious distortions of fact the central theme remains popular, and the women's football team from High Heels have an international recognition well in excess of their actual record.

The Foxes come off their topsy-turvy run to third place in the 49th Baptism of Fire in good shape with only one personnel change. College of Liberal Arts captain Marlene Spike joins the squad to take the roster spot of the injured Robena Slingback, with 17-year-old Caroline Cowboy moving up to take the vacant starting spot in the midfield.

Keeper Kaisa Cuban, 19, is the Foxes' best-known player. She plays for Sporting Boulder in The Babbage Islands' FĈB. In her debut season she was named the league's rookie of the year, and in her sophomore campaign the club won the league and she was named most outstanding player. Two Sporting teammates, playmaker Meline Stiletto and striker Nicolene Wedge, also highlight on the squad. Captain Melody Mule, the first player from High Heels ever to sign overseas, is a potent scoring force. Amanda Pump, manager of the Di Bradini Cup 23 champions, now manages the senior national team surrounded by familiar faces.

The Foxes play a 3-5-2 formation with plenty of style (+4).

RP: Play on, as long as none of my players gets seriously hurt without asking me first.

(NB: All players on the squad not already shown as playing overseas will consider transfer offers to clubs around the world. ILH and the 49th floor bureaucrats have decided that they like the boost to the economy.)

About High Heels

The Fifty-Story Arcology (once called the Most Serene Republic) of High Heels is indeed an arcology, a single massive 50-story tower that provides a nearly self-contained living environment for many thousands. Legally the tower that is High Heels is recognized in Paripana as the city of Högklackat, and IdrottsLiga av Högklackat is an associate member of the Paripana Sporting Council.

The ground floor, or Interface Zone, is where citizens of High Heels interact with the outside world. Above that are 16 zones of three oversized stories each, containing a mixture of residential, clean industrial, commercial, and agricultural (typically hydroponic) uses. The 49th floor, officially the Governance Zone but colloquially simply the 49th Floor, hosts the Hall of the People and most government offices.

Image

Each citizen is assigned to one of the 16 standard zones at birth or naturalization and takes the surname of that zone. All citizens of a zone bear different registered given names. This could be as trivial as an alternate spelling, and the recent registration of double given names helps. Use-names and nicknames are not uncommon. Because there are so few zone names, it is normal to use given names even in formal situations. There might be many Miss Cubans around, but probably only one Kaisa.

The most popular team sport by far is football, where sixteen professional (really semipro) clubs play at High Heels Stadium. Popular individual sports include the modern pentathlon (femkamp) and its constituent sports fencing, running, shooting, and swimming. (Riding is less popular as serious training involves travel away from the tower.)

High Heels Stadium

High Heels Stadium, the only "stadium" in the tower, will host all of the Foxes' home qualifying matches. Located on the 13th floor in the Slingback Zone, the stadium seats just 2,494 spectators. Due to the indoor, above-ground location it necessarily relies on the very best artificial turf now made. In addition to the usual stadium fare two of the best casual dining spots in all of Högklackat, Zoe's Grill and Gerhard's Lontorikanische Konditorei, face each other mere steps from the main gate of the stadium.

Visitors

For those planning to stay in the tower, reserve early. The Tourism Office is coordinating all reservations for local hotels, and by the time official needs are met the remaining rooms will go quickly and at a significant premium. Accommodations should be readily available in nearby communities technically outside High Heels, however, and customs formalities are almost non-existent.

On match day head for the north banks of elevators, particularly if you are arriving through the Interface Zone. Several will be posted as dedicated express tubes to and from 13 for about two hours before and after each match.

All ages are for the opening day of the World Cup Finals or the Cup of Harmony

Fresh off of their first Cup of Harmony championship, followed by two fourth-place showings at AOCAF and the BCC, the Ministry of Morale is delighted to announce the Paladins' roster for World Cup 62. After a tremendously disappointing qualifiers saw them finish third behind a resurgent Starblaydi side, the Paladins managed to regroup and win the Cup of Harmony. They'll be looking to avoid having to defend their title.

Formation: 3-6-1
Style: +1
Coaches: Sol Kirkkegaard, age 66, head coach (Polar Islandstates); André Vaillancourt-Bosquet, age 43, offensive co-ordinator; William St. John de la Ware, age 39, defensive co-ordinator; Étienne Lajeunesse, age 58, keepers

Sol Kirkkegaard, the man who guided Polar Islandstates to their place in the sun, begins his second World Cup cycle with the Paladins. He was unable to make his system work as intended during qualification, dropping points left and right on his way to a weak third-place showing. He managed to right the side for a mostly dominant performance in the Cup of Harmony

Kirkkegaard implemented some fairly sweeping changes to his side at the start of World Cup 61 qualifiers. He replaced the traditional 2-6-2 with a more defensive-minded 3-6-1. He brought the Terns first-ever Captain, and Hall of Fame defender, Niko Marek to improve the team's defense. Marek has left the Paladins to coach first-division Polaran club side Northside Diamonds, and make whoever's coaching the Terns look over his shoulder after particularly unseemly losses. Kirkkegaard has elected to replace him with the patrician William St. John de la Ware, who was almost unbecomingly glad to be plucked from a life of gentlemanly leisure and called back to service with the national side. Unlike Marek, he isn't in the Hall of Fame, but he remains the leading candidate for "best centerback in NMS history" (an admittedly low bar) and will definitely not have to worry about earning the respect of the side. Former NMS captain André Vaillancourt-Bosquet, promoted by Kirkkegaard to provide a familiar face to his new side, helped implement Kirkkegaard's version of the midfield-centric, ball-control NMS offense. He will need to help smooth over transition in the midfield. Goalkeeping coach Étienne Lajeunesse is a close friend of starter Édgar Thibault and is basically untouchable as long as Thibault holds down the job.

KEEPERS

1 Édgar Thibault, age 41, FC Sandside, Civil Citizenry
6 Bill Watterson, age 22, Unité Chateauguay
89 Bobby Laviolette, age 29, Dorion Poules

Édgar Thibault started WC57 for the Paladins and hasn't left the NMS net since then. Bill Watterson overtook Bobby Laviolette during garbage-time action in the BCC and AOCAF. It won't really matter until WC63, and considering how good Thibault still looks for the Paladins, it might be even longer.

DEFENSE

2 Cédric Morand, LB, age 29, Unité Chateauguay, 0 goals
14 André Lecavalier, CB, age 22, Repentigny War Eagles, 0 goals
18 Rick Andrews, RB, age 27, Sorel Black Dragons, 3 goals
8 Henri-Réné Lavaillère, CB/LB, age 21, City of New Montreal
9 Maurice Bergeron, CB, age 30, Sorel Black Dragons, 0 goals
41 Dino Parenti, RB/LB, age 22, NM Patriotes, 0 goals

Niko Marek's defense during the CoH was, excluding the final group-play match against Mapletish, the best overall in NMS history. William St. John de la Ware hasn't let that stop him from benching the slightly-past-his-peak Maurice Bergeron, the lynchpin of Marek's scheme, in favor of the former defensive midfielder André Lecavalier. This is the kind of move that will either secure de la Ware in his new position or get him fired at the end of the cycle.

MIDFIELD

20 Mike Gladden, DMF, age 28, Sorel Black Dragons, 0 goals
3 Mathieu Lionel, CMF, age 26, CF Valdemont, 3 goals
99 Fred Nyguen, CMF, age 21, Philemon Mariners, 0 goals
22 Sam Flowers, LMF, age 22, Bullets, 0 goals
54 Fabrice Sévérin, RMF, age 29, NM Patriotes, 8 goals
7 Julien Cormier, AMF, age 23, Unité Chateauguay, 13 goals
29 Donald Taylor, LMF, age 34, Dorion Poules, 7 goals
12 Justin Lagacé, LMF/RMF, age 23, CF Angiers, 0 goals
4 Robert "Bobby" Bélanger, CMF/AMF, 18, The Troopers, 0 goals
58 Joe Garanfield, CMF/RMF, 21, City of New Montreal, 0 goals
15 André Salier, age 25, AMF, Philemon Mariners, 0 goals
31 Jean Haverford, age 24, DMF/LMF, Mutual of Bloomington, 0 goals

What had been a remarkable midfield during AOCAF and the BCC stumbled during club play. Donald Taylor has managed to play his 34-year-old self back into the starting lineup. He and Fabrice Sévérin have switched sides from the last World Cup, with no noticable effects. "Rocksteady Freddy" Nguyen, meanwhile, has completed the rapid ascension he began at age 19 with the Mariners, seizing Fred Moseley's CMF starting spot for the Paladins and providing more finishing possibilites than anyone has seen from that position in decades. Sam Flowers leads a youth movement on the bench, as the next generation of NMS midfielders prepare themselves for action. Joe Garanfield will see time off the bench alongside Flowers.

STRIKERS

94 Hugo Leclercq, CF, age 22, CF Valdemont, 15 goals
19 Jean Labranche, CF, age 20, Chevaliers d'Étiennebourg, 0 goals

Leclercq enjoyed a breakout during the Cup of Harmony, celebrating 5 goals during the tournament and then celebrating a tremendous contract with CF Valdemont that made him NMS's youngest non-trust-fund-baby millionaire. He followed that up with a hat trick against Audioslavia during AOCAF qualifiers, but sputtered out during AOCAF. Jean Labranche, a distant descendant of legendary SS Hubert Labranche from centuries ago, will look to push Hugo Leclercq if the offensive shortage from the forwards during the BCC carries over to the World Cup.

I hereby give my opponents permission to do anything that strikes their fancy, short of causing death or permanent paralysis to one of my players.

Coach: Joachim Schwartz, 50
Sol Kirkkegaard's shoes have been tough to fill, but Joachim Schwartz has well and truly earned the right to hold his head alongside his former boss as a top manager of the Terns. After winning the Copa Rushmori, he adjusted his team slightly, pulled up his suit jacket, and braced himself for the Worlc Cup campaign, making the quarter finals to break the Terns' duck of Second Round knockouts in recent tournaments, only going out unluckily on penalties to the Auld Enemy. So with a little complacency perhaps beginning to creep in, he took the same team to the next Copa Rushmori, where again, as holders, the Terns were knocked out unceremoniously. He sent a young and inexperienced team to the Brevity Challenge Cup in Wight under the stewardship of Gregorz van der Riise as a result, and with that team finishing as runners-up in the tournament, it has left him with lots to think about when it comes to team selection for the qualifying campaign.

Schwartz is hard-nosed and tough to win over. He values loyalty and hard work more than flair and showboating as a result, so if you keep your nose clean and work hard you'll go far in his estimations. He formerly pushed hard for the inclusion of wingers in the Terns squad, but in his quest to deliver a passing defensive game he has sacrificed them from the squad once more as he seeks to show off all the tactical knowledge that he absorbed during his time as Kirkkegaard's assistant. He was justly rewarded for his faith in youth once before, and so the inclusion of a bit of fresh energy to shake up the side will be seen as a move he is more than capable of doing. There are a few players getting a bit long in the tooth this tournament as well, so there may well be another 'generation change' on the horizon yet. What he's concentrating on for now, however, is a nice satisfying qualification campaign to mark his half-century of years.

Assistants:
First Team Coach: Johannes Kallstrom, 42
Fitness Coach: Duncan Kanchelskis, 45
Opposition Scout: Matteus Sigurdsson, 50

After Kirkkegaard left, Schwartz elected to keep much the same coaching and fitness squad intact. However, with an opening for his own former assistant job now in need of filling, he chose to place greater responsibility upon the shoulders of three of his most trusted colleagues. Between them, they are in charge of three of the most crucial parts of Schwartz's plan: tactical understanding and discipline, levels of fitness that exploit the natural hardiness and stamina of Polarians, and an in-depth knowledge and analysis of the oppositions' strengths and weaknesses. They will all three of them be involved heavily with Schwartz at one stage of the match preparation routine or another, though it would be hard to point at any one of and label him Schwartz's "number two."

#1 - GK - Jan Rasmus - Age 31 - FC Axel Heiburg - 11(2) Caps
From his early days at the U-21s squad, it was clear to all that Jan Rasmus has talent. After several seasons working the penalty area at FC Axel Heiburg and becoming a real goalkeeper you can trust, he finally has the silverware to back up his talents as FC Axel Heiburg took the Divisjon One title last season. A backup to Gammel for many seasons, this lanky goalkeeper is now the first choice and will be the last line of defence in Schwartz's masterplan. The Copa was a good start to his time as the Terns' number one, however short that may be, but the real test of his character will come with the long drawn-out campaign ahead.

#2 - DR - Zacharias Juul - Age 29 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 96(4) Caps, 4 Assists, 8 Goals
So often seen bombing down the wing in support of the attackers or simply on a distracting run that defenders have to cope with, Juul has truly blossomed under the new tactical regime implemented by Schwartz, turning from a dependable and solid right-back with an attacking twist into a full-on attacking wing-back. He is fast, a natural leader, and calm and confident on the ball, and will be one of the most consistent performers in the side, week-in, week-out, launching attack after attack up the right wing as required to by the formation being played. With his hundredth cap safely in his pocket, he can now move towards consolidating his place in the Terns' own personal hall of fame.

#3 - DC - Julius Oyen-Spekke - Age 26 - Resolute Storm 1913 FC - 34(5) Caps, 5 Assists, 3 Goal
Quietly putting in matchwinning performances isn't easy in the Federation League, where every move is scrutinised and caught on camera, but playing for a club outside the big four has helped. Oyen-Spekke is a young defender upon many hopes rest, and his promotion to the starting XI was seen as something of a risk by Schwartz. That, however, is what Schwartz came here to do, and so Oyen-Spekke got his big break and stepped ably up to the plate after Urfstadt's injury at Copa Rushmori X. He hasn't looked back since. His agility and ability in the air is almost unmatched, and for sheer athleticism he'll be hard to beat, particularly as he is a huge threat in the opposition box as well.

#4 - DC - Torre Urfstadt - Age 29 - Club ESF (Valanora) - 81(13) Caps, 2 Assist, 3 Goals
Urfstadt is one of the most exciting players to come from the Torshavn ranks in a long time, and he was a crucial part of Torshavn's continued presence in Divisjon One and a vital component in their Cygnus Cup winning squad, and they've never quite replaced him since his move to Valanora. Fast, powerful, and one of the shining lights in the Terns' crown, he is a truly formidable defender - the likes of which the Federation hasn't seen since Niko Marek. Expect his 6'8" frame to be a danger in the opposing penalty box as well. There is also the benefit that Urfstadt, Juul, and Folke will enjoy having been playing together in the backline of the Terns for the last six years - and that experience will surely pay off.

#5 - DL - Edvar Folke - Age 28 - SK Franz Josef City - 73(4) Caps, 4 Assists, 3 Goals
A hugely dynamic presence in the defence, Folke plays his way for SK after starting abroad, and his huge promise has impressed Schwartz enough to ensure he keeps the starting position over his rival Luka Baalsen for so long, his exciting runs being a particular highlight. Schwartz has kept faith with the SK full back since Kirkkegaard's departure despite a perceived lack in the press of the assists he racks up for his club, and this consistency at the back can only help the side.

#6 - DMC - Jorgen Hauge - Age 33 - Battle (Zarbli) - 165(4) Caps, 26 Assists, 17 Goals - CAPTAIN
Every good national side needs a solid and inspiring captain, as well as a player so full of patriotic zeal and fervour that he will put his body on the line in the name of the team time after time. For the Terns, both of these players is Jorgen Hauge. His marauding hatchet-man presence in front of the defence means attackers can't relax for a second, and Jorgen, who is impressively large even by Polarian standards, now has a fearsome international reputation that has led to him being given the captain's armband, such is the level of importance he holds for the Terns. If he does his job correctly, it allows others to do theirs more easily, and he sees everything that happens on the pitch. Under the guidance of Schwartz and Kanchelskis he has improved his fitness and his mobility greatly, and as such he operates in one of the two crucial pivot positions of Schwartz's tactical revolution as the fulcrum for the 'defensive triangle'. In defence he is a glorified libero, and in attack he becomes a deep-lying playmaker. Not bad with and from set pieces, either, and perhaps out of sheer longevity more than anything else, his tally of seventeen goals for the Terns from defensive midfield actually puts him in the all-time top ten Terns scorers.

#7 - MC - Niko Lepka - Age 27 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 37(18) Caps, 35 Assists, 6 Goals
Not many would have expected such an experienced and calm reader of the game to reside in a body just twenty-seven years old, however, Sol Kirkkegaard saw the talent this young midfielder has to bring the table, and brought him in in repeated squads as he did with van Sorensen, hoping to see the same results. After a number of short cameos offered mere tasters of what he is capable of, he managed to secure a more permanent position and has since thrived under Schwartz's regime. Playing for Atletik Thessia and RVA before moving to Jan Mayen, he was well experienced and highly thought of in both Mytannion and Erathore before his subsequent move to the Islanders, who utilise his talents in a three man compact attacking midfield. He likes to give as good as he gets, physically speaking, but his real skill lies with distribution, and he is seen as the successor to Demarchelier.

#8 - MC - Jorgen-Franz Bru - Age 29 - East Franz Athletic - 35(5) Caps, 6 Assists, 5 Goals
Despite being East Franz captain, Bru has had spend his fair share of time on the bench thanks to Schwartz' loyalty to Emrahn Vik, who stood in ably for Bru when the East Franz midfielder was out injured. Ever since that replacement, the Vik vs Bru debate has long raged in internet chat-rooms, with people realising exactly what Schwartz has - that playing them both in the same XI is nigh-on impossible given their closely matched talents and roles in the squad. He is a determined leader on the pitch, and is fiercely competitive at all times and after impressing in all four games at the Copa, including captaining his country for the first time on one particularly memorable night against Western Cuba, it is now well within Bru's hands to keep his hands on the starting box-to-box position.

#9 - ST - Ellis Elmsvikur - Age 28 - Royal Rumiatzi (Astograth) - 44(17) Caps, 9 Assists, 37 Goals
Imposing and athletic, Elmvikur is the complete package. Fast, nimble, packed with stamina, a dead ball ace, good in the air, and with a lethal shot, he can play as both a poacher or as a supporting striker. You name it, he can do it, has done it, and will continue to do it. Very highly thought of in the Iturributan league, he nonetheless ditched Iturributa for the Astograthi league in the form of Timo Skye's former side, Royal Rumiatzi, and justified his huge transfer fee to the world with some impressive performances since, including scoring the Terns' first ever hat trick in the World Cup finals. Opposition defences will have to mark him down as one to watch, with more than one goal in two for the Terns so far, and he will be a key part of Terns side for a while yet. At twenty-eight, he and Kvitchenko are hitting their peak physical form at the same time as each other, and with Elmsvikur knocking at the door of the top five Terns scorers, we could be mentioning them in the same breath as Skye and Ackermann-Finn yet.

#10 - AMC - Alexsandr van Sorensen - Age 30 - AS Bezieres (Valladares) - 120(46) Caps, 65 Assists, 78 Goals - VICE-CAPTAIN
Shining light of the side Alexsandr is now just turning thirty, and at his best he can be devastatingly untouchable. Played a vital role for Jan Mayen before his move to Cafundéu where he played for Petardos S/A after CR Submiria, and is now making waves with Valladar club AS Bezieres in the Super League. Suffers from rare brain condition synaesthesia, meaning his senses get muddled up in his head, but manages to not let this affect his attractive attacking play - indeed if anything it appears to help him. Having played as a midfielder for Petardos S/A, Joachim Schwartz has made full use of this natural tendency of Alexsandr's and placed upon his shoulders the other crucially important role in his tactical scheme - taking up the pivotal trequartista role behind the strikers in the 'attacking triangle', and acting as a midfielder when the side has to defend. Almost certainly an all-time legend already, he is without a doubt the Terns' key player at this tournament, and indeed he probably will be until he retires. Speaking of which, at thirty years old now, if the Terns are going to use one of the best players in the world (probably) to propel them to a World Cup title, they haven't got many chances left.

#11 - ST - Diedrich Kvitchenko - Age 28 - East Franz Athletic - 39(18) Caps, 11 Assists, 27 Goals
With twenty-seven goals in his Terns career so far, Kvitchenko is a lethal striker, and is capable of playing out wide left or right and cutting in if required to do so. He is faster than he looks, and likes to use this to surprise defenders, changing direction and making a darting run that finishes in a first-time shot before many are even aware he changed direction. His ability to find space like this has been likened to witchcraft by a few defenders, and though he might not touch the ball much during the match, when he does, he uses it efficiently. Let's face it, there were two Polarian strikers in the CC-winning East Franz squad, and the nigh-on legendary Henning Blonqvist wasn't the one that made the following Terns squad, despite Kvitchenko's tender years at the time. Yeah. He's that good. He is however languishing ten goals behind Elmsvikur in the goalscoring stakes, and that simply will not do.

#12 - GK - Piotr Hemjann-Bezelhov - Age 27 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 5(1) Caps, 1 Assist
Twenty-seven is still plenty young for a goalkeeper, and you'll be sure to be hearing the tongue-twisting name of Hemjann-Bezelhov for a long time, yet. Taking over the first gloves at Jan Mayen since Mathias Marek's sudden move abroad had been something of a baptism of fire for the keeper, but his reflexes and speed off his line have kept him right and hs performances have dragged the Ospreys back into the CC knockout stages as a result. With Rasmus not likely to be first choice for long at his age, Hemjann-Bezelhov might well be in the first team soon.

#13 - GK - Nicolaj Thorsen - Age 26 - FC Cape St Paul - 2 Caps
With just two caps to his name so far, there is nonetheless hope that Thorsen can develop into a fine and important goalkeeper for the team. Unlikely to see any first team action this tournament, but has a keen eye and a fast reflex that has seen him well so far. Is prone to the odd lapse in concentration that affects his overall game, but it is hoped that the continued time spent with the national team will start to work this out of him.

#14 - DMC - Iulian Finnibaturinn - Age 29 - Urbizania Wanderers (Astograth) - 34(12) Caps, 6 Assists, 4 Goals
Having just left Surtsey to go to Astograth with the aim of bursting back into the Terns team, I don't think even Iulian Finnibaturinn was expecting the speed of his return to be quite so swift. With Einmark not commanding a first team position at East Franz Athletic at the moment, the stage was set for the former Surtsey midfielder to steal to the show, and with a series of impressive leadership performances en route to the Brevity Challenge Cup final, that's exactly what Finnibaturinn has managed. An experienced pair of legs to bring on if required.

#15 - DL - Kohev Küngas-Vaga - Age 21 - Northbrook Diamonds FK - 4(2) Caps, 1 Assist, 1 Goal
Impressed as the U-21s captain despite going out in the group stages of the DBC, this defender is well known and trusted by van der Riise, so it was no surprise to see him at the Brevity Challenge Cup. One of only two players to play in each and every match of that campaign, Kohev is combative and battling left-back, though in truth he can play anywhere across the back five players, and this youthful enthusiasm and adaptability is something that Schwartz will be able to make good use of, I'm sure. One for the future, definitely.

#16 - DR - Dima Petersen - Age 26 - Ituraitz FC (Astograth) - 15(21) Caps, 1 Assist
Without much history in the national team, Dima is one of the wave of talented young wing backs the nation seems to be awash with at the moment, and following some impressive performances in the World Cup, Joachim has handed the man based in Ituraitz yet another call up. He is lithe and nimble, quick to change direction and a difficult marker to shift. His tackles are, well, when he tackles you, you stay tackled, put it that way, and his ferocity and determination is a key part of why Schwartz has called him up.

#17 - MC - Eyvindur Sudesval - Age 25 - SK Franz Josef City - 7(11) Caps, 2 Assists, 2 Goals
Having captained the U-21s in the past, Sudesval came to the senior side with a wealth of experience already in his back pocket. Confident in his own abilities, he lets his football do the talking, and this quiet individual can often be seen practising alone if left to his own devices. Strong in the air and full of potential, his fitness levels are astonishing, able to run end to end for 120 minutes if needed to, therefore making him a perfect payer for Schwartz's system. Boasts a powerful thunderbolt of a shot as well as some developing ability to control and dictate a match, he's a pro all-round midfielder, which is exactly why SK have brought him back from Saugeais in an effort to fix their lack of weight in the middle of the park.

#18 - ST - Vadim Illich-Svitych - Age 21 - FC Axel Heiburg - 1(3) Caps, 2 Goals
Well, Schwartz likes to start them young, and first team debuts don't get much younger than this. Sending both Jagr and Illich-Svitych to Wight saw the latter find his range with explosive style in his first match off the bench, and he was frequently brought on to terrorise defences late in the game after that. He has had a couple of outstanding seasons in the Federation League, quite rightly catching the eye as FC Axel Heiburg lifted the title, and this young striker with the dazzlingly good ball skills will seek to continue his hot streak here.

#19 - MC - Marten Cornelius - Age 24 - FC Axel Heiburg - 4(1) Caps, 2 Assists, 1 Goal
Cornelius comes into the squad having been an inspiring presence for the U-21s in the past, as well as some impressive game-changing performances for Axel Heiburg recently as he was another key member of their title-winning side. Two assists in his first five caps for the Terns also boasts of a fine midfielder with excellent vision, and even if we see him challenging Lepka for a first team role in the near future, he's perhaps the closest thing we've got to a replacement for Alexsandr van Sorensen's driving midfield creativity in the face of Konovalov's absence.

#20 - ST - Felix Saarinen - Age 24 - East Franz Athletic - 1(1) Caps, 3 Goals
With a series of hugely impressive performances in the Federation League, Saarinen's partnership up front with Kvitchenko has seen the Polarian duo become one of the most feared partnerships in the league. He is fast and nimble, and yet for his age is able to command a lone striker position if necessary. Tall and a dangerous figure in the box, any cameo appearances from the bench against tired legs will be sure to see him make an impact. Twitchers are excited to see just what he can do in the Terns shirt in a longer campaign after scoring three goals in hist first two international matches at the Copa, and I tell you what, so am I.

#21 - MC - Emrahn Vik - Age 27 - Jan Mayen Islanders - 33(6) Caps, 10 Assists, 3 Goals
After Jorgen-Franz Bru's unfortunate injury all that time ago, Emrahn Vik was handed the chance in the starting lineup and clung onto it. He repaid this trust from Schwartz with a series of marauding box to box performances at the last World Cup, and in Bru's return he nonetheless kept his spot in the first team, as you were just as likely to see Emrahn smashing in a shot from the edge of the box as you were to see him make a block on the edge of his own box minutes later. Bru put in some fine performances at the Copa, and he gets his place in the starting eleven back for now, but Vik will be champing at the bit to get back out there and take it back off his close friend.

#22 - DC - Nico Tchepikov - Age 24 - FC Cape St Paul - 5(10) Caps, 1 Assist
Younger cousin of Brede Tchepikov, who plays for Renneville United in Osarius, Nico is one of comparatively few players to make their Terns debut whilst still eligible for the U-21s, though there plenty of others in this particular twenty-three who can also boast that. Strong, fast, and an excellent reader of the game, Tchepikov is turning into a great defender, and whilst appearances have been hard to come by, his continued presence in the World Cup squad shows his importance to the future of Schwartz's vision and indicates he can be expected to make an impact here when required.

#23 - DC - Olivier Kindahl - Age 26 - Metropolis Alligators (Valladares) - 8(6) Caps, 1 Assist
Schwartz has long advocated Kindahl's inclusion into the senior side, claiming Sol overruled him and took Stanislav Dahl at the former manager's last World Cup. Once Schwartz got his way however, mature-beyond-his-years Olivier stepped up to the plate magnificently in the last three games of the tournament when he got his chance, and Twitchers are safe in the knowledge he will always be there to back them up on the pitch if needed. Nearly as tall as the imperious Urfstadt, Kindahl is a terror in both boxes as you would expect, and his marking skills are second to none. His accurate long range passing from the back can often be the start of a devastating counter-attack if the forwards use their initiative, and he looks to be the model of a star in the making. A favourite with press and fans alike thanks to his easy-going nature.

TACTICS: "The Pythagorean" 2-3-3-2
The Polarian game is fast, quick, and physical. They won't give you a second on the ball to think, and they won't hold back in the tackle. In the centre of the park they will play a possession based midfield game, though a defence splitting pass could come at any moment towards the fast and direct attack. Schwartz's tactical plan, a narrow and heavily modified diamond formation dubbed the Pythagorean by the sporting press, is reliant upon two key triangular sets of players that transcend the normal "rows" of player in conventional formation layouts. Oyen-Spekke, Urfstadt, and Hauge will act as the defensive triangle, and van Sorensen, Elmsvikur, and Kvitchenko will counter at the other end as the offensive triangle. Hauge and van Sorensen's roles in this scheme are absolutely crucial, as their job is to support and unlock the other two players in their respective triangles, providing outlets and creativity in abundance. Lepka and Bru will be part of a compact midfield that will supply steel or style whenever the situation demands it, as well as partnering up with their respective full backs to form a kind of "bumper" that sweeps the flanks in attack or folds in to protect the penalty area in defence. Fitness of all players will therefore be key to the success of this plan, not least the constant positional changing demanded of Hauge and van Sorensen, but the athleticism of Juul and Folke in particular will be tested to the limit as their roles require frequent attacking. It's not quite a 4-3-3, it's not quite a 4-1-2-1-2, and it's not quite a W-M... its the Pythagorean.

For the Raxacoricofallapatorians, search Slitheen. For Silurian, see 'Cold Blood' or 'The Hungry Earth' (followed by Doctor Who if necessary). For Rory, search 'The Pandorica Opens'.

Manager: Rassilon (Species: Time Lord; the first Lord President of Gallifrey, Rassilon created the Eye of Harmony, which gave the Time Lords their time travelling ability. All in all, he became the foundation of Gallifrey, although that may all be just public relations. He had discovered the secret to immortality, but was deposed by rebellious Time Lords, before going into an eternal sleep in the Tomb of Rassilon, located in the Death Zone. Late on in the Time War, he was seemingly brought back to direct the war efforts, but as he was willing to destroy the Time Vortex and thus the whole of creation [in the Whoniverse, if not all universes], to win the Time War, the Doctor time-locked him and the whole of Gallifrey.)
Assistant Manager: Adam Loftus (Normal human; returns to the national team after a break of a few World Cups, but has basically been the behind the many managers there have been since the creation of the team back in World Cup 49 [OOC: a bit like Stuart Pearce of England].)
Coach: Sameer Ahmad (Normal human, aged 46; is the older brother of Shabeen, and also has one of the higher goal counts, but has been much eclipsed by his brother's success.)
Coach and Team blogger:Shabeen Ahmad III (Normal Human, aged 44; has scored over 200 goals for the EL national team, and is still an inspiration to everyone, nearly taking the team to the playoffs in World Cup 58, which has his first foray into full management.)

This team were all taken out of their respective time-lines by Time Scoop technology, so where some may be dead by this time, they are alive at this point in space-time. And it was the ELFA who did this, with the help of its inventor, Rassilon.

Goalkeepers:

Blon Fel-Fotch Pasameer-Day Slitheen: Species: Raxacoricofallapatorian (family: Slitheen); refer to as Blon. Was caught impersonating MI5's Margaret Blaine in 2005 (Earth time), where she and her family members were planning to instigate World War III and turn the planet into fissile material, ready to sell. With the plan destroyed by a well-timed Harpoon missile, she managed to escape, but was the only one. She then went on to become Mayor of Cardiff, using a nuclear plant and the Cardiff Rift to attempt to escape. She did, but in doing so regressed into an egg, and was delivered to the hatcheries on Raxacoricofallpatorius for a second chance at life.

The Abzorbaloff: Species: Unknown, but related to Raxacoricofallapatorians (albeit despising them); Originating from Raxacoricofallapatorius' twin planet, Clom, this particular one came to Earth and tricked a group of humans who were searching for the Doctor to join him, but eventually absorbing them all to satisfy his hunger.

Outfielders (Basically, this lot can play anywhere on the pitch apart from in goal):

Strax: He was a Commander for the Sontaran Military, but was disgraced for an unknown reason, and then was forced to become a nurse by the Doctor, to settle a debt.

Reaper: Species: Reaper; Flying bat-like creatures with scythe-like tails, the Reapers are extradimensional beings, who have the ability to materialise in normal spacetime when a paradox occurs, devouring everything in the area to repair the damage. They can be stopped by material barriers, the older the better, but not permanently, and a paradox on the other side of the barrier will let them through quicker.

Madame Vastra: species: Silurian; Is another of the people who the Doctor a debt, in this case, it is for saving her from a life of crime and hiding out in the early London underground, and she in turn became a detective.

Creet: species: Toclofane/Human (from the year 100 trillion and reduced to live inside metal balls); With the universe on the brink of ending, a group of humans were building a means of escape to "Utopia". With the help of the Doctor, they managed to do so, but only found darkness, and then they cannibalised themselves into this shape. This particular one was a young boy who worked in the sanctuary.

The Doctor: species: Time Lord, age: 1103 (although he doesn't really know himself). Words cannot describe this man's life, but as for football, he's had "plenty" of experience, having played a match for the King's Arm Pub League Football team and scoring more than two hat-tricks in that single match (and then World Cup 59 with the associated Cup of Harmony). Plays mainly up front.

Captain Jack Harkness: species: unknown (very humanoid though); Jack grew up on the Boeshane Peninsula as a kid and joined the Time Agency, but quit after a few years, becoming a con man with a Vortex Manipulator (basic time travel). After meeting the Doctor during the Blitz, Jack dies on Satellite 5 in the year 200,000, but is then brought back to life by the Time Vortex, effectively becoming immortal.

Rory the Plastic Centurion: species: Auton, created by the Nestene Consciousness; refer to as Rory; Dressed up in full Roman armour, Rory has had a miserable past, one that has included being killed, followed shortly after by not being born, followed by becoming a plastic duplicate with a full human consciousness. However, he is rather hardened by all this, and also has a gun in his right hand which he won't use, but will still throw himself into anything nothing less than fully committed.

Raston Warrior Robot: species: None, it is a machine; This robot has been called 'the most perfect killing machine ever devised', being able to move faster than lightning and to kill a troop of Cybermen in seconds. Its face is featureless, and its weapons are collapsible and miniaturizable, and so concealed. For the purposes of this campaign, its weapons have been remotely disarmed, but it still moves faster than normal humans can see.

Pyrovile: species Pyrovile; A humanoid being made of pure magma and volcanic rock, Pyroviles are vicious (albeit quite slow), not to mention being about 5 times the height of average humans when fully grown. Pyroviles originated from the planet Pyrovilia, but crash landed on Earth after their home was lost. They grew in the bowels of Mount Vesuvius, giving some of the locals the power of soothsaying. They planned to convert the entire human race to Pyroviles, and in turn create a new Pyrovilia. As a consequence of his magma nature, all match balls will be lined with lead to prevent them from bursting.

Jenny: species: Human/Time Lord hybrid; The Doctor was taken by the TARDIS to Messaline, where a war was raging between humans and fish-like humanoids called Hath. The Doctor then had his hand put into a progenation machine, used to produce clones for the war, and out came Jenny. She was later on killed by a commander who refused to accept the ceasefire, but then came back to life, having died in the presence of a terraforming device. She was last seen blasting off in the rocket, looking for adventure, and now she's here.

Modified Weeping Angel: species: Weeping Angel; modifications: only becomes a statue when opposition player with the ball is looking at it; No information known as of yet.

Professor Lazarus: Species: Severely mutated human (completely not humanoid at times), refer to as Lazarus; Professor Lazarus was eighty-odd years old, but invented a machine which could manipulate a person's DNA and make them younger. The first demonstration nearly catastrophically fails, but Lazarus emerges much younger. However, his DNA was since found to be unstable, and it showed when Lazarus changed into a scorpion-like creature that drained the life energy of other humans in order to keep him young.

Dalek Sec: Species: Human Dalek (Dalek that has taken on a humanoid form); After the Battle of Canary Wharf, the Cult of Skaro, now armed with the knowledge that they were the last Daleks in existence, escaped to 1930's New York, where they planned to recreate themselves in a humanoid form, by merging symbiotically with kidnapped humans deemed to be of superior intelligence. The leader of the cult, Dalek Sec, was the first to do so, merging with the businessman behind the building of the Empire State Building to form a Human Dalek. The remaining pure Daleks stopped the program upon seeing a Sec having emotions.

Silent: species: The Silence; The Silence is a religious order that believes that Silence will fall when the first question, the oldest question in the universe, is put to the Doctor, on the fields of Trenzelor, where no living creature can speak falsely or fail to answer. They attempted to bring down the Doctor through an abducted part Time Lord child (no relation to the Doctor), and kill him in a still point, thus creating a fixed point. But they failed.

Captain Tybo: Species: Judoon; refer to as Tybo; Is a Juddoon captain who crashed on Earth whilst transporting the Juddoon's most wanted criminal, Androvax the Destroyer, wanted for 12 counts of planetary destruction.

Vashta Nerada swarm: species: Vashta Nerada; The are microscopic organisms, which when swarming are completely indistinguishable from shadows, and being highly carnivorous, this plays into their hands. These Vashta Nerada number about 3,000,000, but are compacted into a humanoid form, for fairness. After a Kinitar player had his leg chewed off, the vashta nerada that played in that cup have been swapped for a vegetarian and pescetarian swarm (so fish people/giant vegetables beware).

Choose my goalscorers: Y
Godmod scoring events: Y
RP injuries to my players: Y
Godmod injuries to my players: Y (Although I'd love to see your player try and injure a 15-foot tall being made from volcanic rock.)
Hand out yellow cards to my players: Y (max. of four more than given to your team)
Hand out red cards to my players: Y (max. of two more than given to your team)
Godmod other events: Y (consult me if it is too outlandish)

Style Modifier: +3
Formation: Well none really, as nobody but the Doctor has a fixed position. However, the team will usually play in a sort of 4-5-1/2-5-3 hybrid, whatever that means.

Home stadium: Lodger City Memorial Stadium (cap. 150,000)
The national stadium of Eastfield Lodge since it was built not too long ago, it was built on the ruins of the old Lodger City, the former capital of Eastfield Lodge which was completely devastated by a nuclear disaster and floods within minutes of each other. It stands as a symbol of a new life, now even more prevalent after a horrible civil war and what not. But the new city has now become the footballing capital of Eastfield Lodge after some of the biggest teams moved in after Dillvill declared independence.

Because I can't be bothered to make a factbook, information about Eastfield Lodge can be found here, although some of it will be out of date. Including the facts that Dillvill declared independence and went back to normal reality, as did half the country's empire. And the fact that we are now located somewhere in Rushmore (still to be determined).

Carmadin National Football Team

Mostly unchanged from the last go-round, Carmadin continues what has become something of a tradition: Play the same team for a few cups, then bring in fresh talent. This team is the early 60's generation, and they are on track to be the first to qualify.

Coaching and Management:
Manager: Dowv Daz, Kihxaw Jahp, Vehchowng I
Assistant Coaches: Cheeshoosh Shaeh'h

As ever, the omnipresent duo of Kihxaw Jahp and Dowv Daz will be behind the bench once again, hoping to be on hand when Carmadin makes the breakthrough into the cup proper. However, both are certainly getting on in years, and may not be there next time team Carmadin takes the field.

Goaltenders:
Starter:
Raehzoys Ohcheht (Tim City Cyber Rays)(Darmen)

After spending years and campaign upon campaign in the Shadow of now-manager Kihxaw Jahp, Raehzoys is ready to become the next big wall in net for Carmadin. The question is-can he fill Kihxaw's boots?

Backup:
Kaehdur Maehkur (Abo Abo)

Defenders:
Starters:
Cheh Tom Jaht Kaeh (Arksin Football Club)
Ohlaht Chehsheht (Northeastern)
Zwejoyj (FC Charge)
Kohchehmj (Sho Athletic Club)

A formidable foursome will look to support Raehzoys however they can, and will be known quite well for their offensive defending tactics.

Backups:
Hehp Poch'tkh (Abo Abo)
Sahlohm'n aht Vehrohn (Cahrsinleh Devils)

Midfielders:
Starters:
Xer Xán (Tim City Cyber Rays)(Darmen)
Chehri (Abo Abo)
Ohlahp Tehn (Northeastern)
Dasur Tomah (Seendok Shells)

Xer Xán is undeniably the big, goalscoring star of this team, but his powerful foot will have the backup help of three other excellent midfielders in Chehri, Ohlahp Tehn, and Dasur Tomah.

Backups:
Pohcheht Maehdur (Elcahnd Heat)
Kohleet Shaekh'zheht (Chahr North Stars)

Forwards:
Starters:
Heht Nihk (Abo Abo)
Mahfrehkt (Seendok Shells)

Mahfrehkt's single name and powerful foot makes him the more famous of the two, but don't underestimate Heht Nihk. Nihk's passing and finishing ability make these two a dynamic duo indeed.

Backups:
Ahnger (FC Charge)

Tactics!

The Carmadin game can be called "a mashed-up hodge-podge" of stratigies. Expect the defense to continue Guh Thi Nurng's physical traditions (Guh retired from Vliegende Beigners FC as the most carded player in the Chenkoryan league), but the midfield and offense play a beautiful, spread out game, marked by precise passes and a flowing style of play.

Carmadin adds new life to the rather mudane 4-4-2 they play in:

Nihk              Mahfrehkt

Xán Chehri Tehn Tomah

Kaeh Chehsheht Zewjoyj Kohchehmj

Ohcheht

Don't kill them, dont remove limbs.
Cuz if they don't have hands, then how will we win?
If out they should be for 2 days or more,
TG me first to avoid a war.
Godmodding is fine, but beware
I'll do it too, and I can be a scare.
So, all in all, do whatever seems cool
but please, I implore you, remember the golden rule
'cuz if you do it to me, I'll do it to you,
and of the same RP there would be two,
and we can't have that! So be kind,
follow these rules, just see what you'll find!
That you can RP, and I can too!
and this will bring happieness to me and to you

The Sanian Strikers

We must be swift as a Wrapped Up Winter!
With all the force of a Sonic Rainboom!
And all the strength of a Ursa Major!

Goalkeepers:

- Northern Dash: One of the best goalkeepers in Sani, and a humble pegasus from the coastal town of Cahal Senra, she dreamed of visiting more urban areas before she decided to become a professional soccer player, stating that "even paradise gets boring". After joining the Strikers, she went on to prove herself as a notable player in the Sanian lineup and been tested under pressure multiple times internationally. Northern Dash has been known to use her lighter built pegasi frame and superior agility to get an edge over other goalies in similar events. (Female, Pegasi, Starter)

- Honeydew: (Male, Earth Pony, Sub)

Defenders:

- Peach Heart: (Female, Earth Pony, Starter)
- Sterling Steedly: (Male, Earth Pony, Starter)
- Drizzle Brave: (Male, Pegasi, Starter)
- Adriana Locke: (Female, Human, Starter)
- Adam Maus: (Male, Human, Starter)

- Cinnamon Truffle: (Female, Earth Pony, Sub)
- Daisy Petal: (Female, Earth Pegasi, Sub)

Midfielders:

Crystal Charmer: (Female, Unicorn, Starter)
Flare Flicker: (Male, Pegasi, Starter)
- Star Whistle: (Male, Unicorn, Starter)
- Fall Lionheart: (Male, Earth Pony, Starter)

- Erich MacInnis: (Male, Human, Sub)
- Daffodil Flourish: (Female, Earth Pony, Sub)

Forwards:

- Gabriella Boudreau: (Female, Human, Starter)
- Lightning Chaser: (Male, Pegasi, Starter)

- Mark Shepard: (Male, Human, Sub)

Staff:

- Suild Glimmergaunt: The Striker’s original coach and the brain's behind the team's apparent brawn. Suild guided the Striker's to their first international win during the Second Equestria Cup and spent the down time since training and recruiting some of the best human soccer players in the Confederacy. Hoping to level the playing field when it comes to their entry into the World Cup. (Male, Gryphon, Coach)

- Marlene Adams: A skilled forward and even more powerful kicker, in spite of her roots in Vermillion Sands and the fact she grew up in an adopted human family, Marlene was one of Sani's most experienced (albeit oldest at 45) mare forwards. After leading the Sanian Strikers to their first international victory in the Second Equestria Cup (and marriage to team coach Suild Glimmergaunt), she officially retired from the sport as an active forward. Preferring now to use her years of experience as the Confederacy's best forward to train, drill, and coordinate the Striker's team efforts as a Coach in their upcoming participation in the World Cup. (Female, Earth Pony, Coach)

- Zoe Senkaku: Daughter of Council Elect Kurisu Senkaku, childhood protégé of Prime Minister Sylvia Presiding and carrying the inherent level of political clot associated with that fact. Zoe is the singular individual, who with the backing of both her father and mentor lobbied for the Sanian Strikers creation in anticipation of the original Equestria Cup along with their participation in it’s second incarnation and now the World Cup, and thus can be considered their unofficial "celebrity" spoke's person. (Female, Human, Team Sponsor)

- Sweetie Belle: A secondary director of the Sanian Confederacy, Sweetie Belle is at the behest of Zoe assigned as the government liaison between the Sanian Strikers and the larger confederacy, ensuring the prearranged funding, housing, travel and other necessities are provided for and in full during their travels abroad. (Female, Unicorn, Team Logistics Director)

The Thaulandian national team (aka the Polar Bears) plays like it does business. Risky and in the middle of the action. The name Polar Bear might make it seem like the team are icy and calm, the population of the small Northern archipelago are nothing like that image. The team is a good representation of the real Thaulandian: proactive, sometimes ruthless. This has resulted in many injuries for both teams and many cards for the Thaulandians, but this was no sign for them to change.

After World Cup 61, where the team finished 5th and thereby erasing much of the hard work done in cycles 55-60 to get Ko-oren with the big teams, much had to be corrected. The head coach was sacked in favor of a committee of coaches, the system of 3-5-2 was changed to a 5-5 defensive/offensive block system. The players of this team are the same as last year, as when they got together in the second half of qualifying, they did prove to be a solid group that could get the nation up again.

World Cup 20 Champions

:: Background Information ::

The Football Association of Vilita is based at the Tivali-Ring Stadium (87,000 Seating Capacity) in the capital city of Alikki-Corra, Vilita and many National Team training sessions take place on the grounds of the Tivali-Ring. The Tivali-Ring complex was constructed as part of the Vilitan bid to host the World Cup 14 Cup of Harmony as a replacement to the former National Stadium in Lopinka that was destroyed during a regional conflict. 'The Ring' has since hosted countless international matches including high profile matches such as the World Cup 31 Final and the 40th Series 'B' Champions Cup Final.

Despite being based at the Ring, The Football Association of Vilita regularly schedule matches at arenas throughout Vilita, especially bigger matches as many of the stadiums that host Stellar Division and UICA competition matches have expanded far beyond the 87,000 capacity of the National Stadium at Tivali-Ring, which is used only for the National Team, and, domestically for the Vilitan Cup Final and Tropical Trophy matchups. The Football Association typically releases a stadium schedule when applicable.

Head Coach:
:: Calaesa Mitaroka
[ Vilita ]
After a highly successful spell as the manager of club side Jungle Strike FC, Calaesa Mitaroka led the Vilitan National Team as head coach for the first time during their World Cup 61 Qualifying Campaign. Mitaroka's late run of form secured a spot in the Finals for the Jungle Cats.

The coaches will select the squad from the National Player pool. Players are listed below, grouped by position and sorted by projection 'Depth Chart' position where the top player listed is most likely to be named the first player selected for that position, and so on. Depth chart positions are determined by performance in pre-cup training sessions, as well as performance and average ratings in the Vilitan League competition and previous appearances for the National Team.

GOALKEEPERS:

[ 85 ] Nycflala Kater [ - Strike FC - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 26 CAPS: 66 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.84 Average Rating ]
Descended of former National Team goalkeeper Jimmy Kater, who took over the starting position on the National Team under the intense spotlight of the World Cup 17 Finals in Vilita and remained first choice keeper for the majority of Vilitan national competition in subsequent seasons before joining the coaching staff for World Cup 31. Nycflala made his full debut for the Vilita National Team during World Cup 57 where he was named the starter in 14 of Vilitas 16 qualification matches. Kater performed strongly with 6 shutouts and a 5.86 average rating. Many claim that the focus on the World Cup 57 Qualifying campaign distracted Strike players such as Kater from performing well domestically in VLeague 26. Kater ensured there would be no dissapointment in VLeague 27 leading Strike comfortably to both the League and Cup titles, repeating the feat during VLeague 29 and VLeague 30.

[ 92 ] Jungrii Canopii [ - Yeaddin Owls AFC - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 20 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.34 Average Rating ]
Canopii spent most of World Cup 57 Qualifications on the bench, earning three substitute appearances in official matches, though he was named starter for the mid-qualification charity match against Akbarabad to raise money for big cats, where he made 11 saves. Despite spending most of the campaign as the primary backup, Canopii was not given the opportunity to start when #1 keeper Kater missed two matches, leading doubts as to whether he is looked upon as a serious canadidate for the starting role in the future. After starting at the Inland Academy then signing for Inland Peaks, Canopii left the home-town club when they were relegated from the Stellar Division after Season 26, joining cross-range rivals Eastal Lunar. Despite being relegated to the Declasse, Canopii led Eastal Lunar to the Vilitan Cup title during Season 28. Canopii has remained loyal to Eastal Lunar despite their relegation from the Stellar Division, turning down multiple offers to join bigger clubs in the top flight. Canopii thrust back into the National Team spotlight during World Cup 60 Qualifying, stopping 5 of the 9 matches the Jungle Cats won consecutively to qualify for the World Cup through the Playoff Pod system. Canopii would lead Eastal Lunar back to the Stellar Division before being attracted by the allure of the Lirai Asku Castle in joining the Yeaddin Owls for Season 33.

[ 91 ] Aranora Jaded [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 12 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.07 Average Rating ]
Jaded was given a great confidence boost by the decision of the coaching staff to sell Jaqe Planst to Cednia Beach AFC. The two young keepers were fighting for the right to be the next Arcticala starting keeper, and Jaded won that job, leading Arcticala to the Tropical Trophy title in Season 27 - on penalty kicks, against his opposite number Planst who was making his first start for Cednia Beach since leaving Arcticala.

[ 90 ] Jaqe Planst [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 8 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.63 Average Rating ]
Planst was acquired by Cednia Beach AFC after playing just 1 match in Season 26 for Arcticala Inlet. Planst helped the Turorian side to second place in the VLeague 27 table and a return to UICA Competitions. A poor showing during the AOCL V in which Cednia Beach were eliminated in the group stage likely kept Planst out of any contention for a National Team spot during World Cup 58 Qualifiers, although, as a highly skilled keeper, Planst was still invited to the training camp. Planst has an ongoing rivalry with former Cednia Youth teammate Aranora Jaded who left Cednia Beach to join Planst's former club, Arcticala Inlet, and also achieved great success.

[ 98 ] Atacir Tivalan [ - Makosile FC - ]
------- GK ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.00 Average Rating ]
Tivalan architected an outstanding season for Makosile FC in the Vilitan Stellar Division, season 26 leading the Mako's to a top 4 finish in the table, and earning a high-profile transfer to the Yeaddin Owls. Although Tivalan played well at the Castle, the team was languishing unfamiliarly near the bottom half of the table, while Makosile also struggled. The Owls decided to part company with the goalkeeper who was welcomed back to Makosile, finishing the season strong conceding just 8 goals in 15 games. Season 30 was the breakthrough for Tivalan and Makosile, an ultra-defensive season fell right into the Mako's hands as they were crowned stellar division champions for the first time and Tivalan got a call to the squad for AOCAF 36.

DEFENDERS:

[ 9 ] Ritopa Simafela [ - Strike FC - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 27 CAPS: 82 :: GOALS::SR: 8 U21: REG: ) :: [ 7.06 Average Rating ]
Ritopa was a standout product of the Lunar Academy and was named as one of the captains of Vilita's World Cup 57 Qualifying Squad. The son of a Rocket Scientist and a Physicist, Simafela is already well educated and is in no way reliant on a career in sports. However, strong performances during his debut qualifying campaign including a 6.05 average rating and 2 goals spurred transfer inquiries from foreign clubs and comparisons to Vilitan greats like Enzo Ahat and Ricky Ezis. Simafela transferred to Strike FC for VLeague 27 and was an instrumental part of their double success in the League and Cup.

[ 3 ] Niubo Deneli [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 27 CAPS: 28 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 7.34 Average Rating ]
Deneli was a solid prospect for the Strike Academy before a decline in his development after the age of 15, a time at which he was considered the best defensive prospect in the country. He ended up signing his first professional contract with local side Lonngeylin Coast, helping them get invited to the Declasse for Season 27, and helping them keep that spot for Season 28. Deneli, however, would leave the club and return to the other side of the street to play for Strike FC in Season 28. After a season and a half with his home club, Deneli found himself on the substitutes bench for the first time, and immediately requested a transfer, which was granted as he moved to Kiiarana. However, a miserable season at Kiiarana resulted in Deneli abandoning ship to ride with the Tide in Turoki, then, back to the big island to play for Arctical Inlet - quickly gaining a reputation as a bit of a journeyman despite strong performances all around.

[ 64 ] Uajiala Pulkki [ - Turoki Tide - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 27 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.95 Average Rating ]
Pulkki is a descendent of former Inland Peaks FC defender Pasi Pulkki, and many are saying he could even be better then his ancestors. Pulkki unfortunately lasted barely 22 minutes in his competitive debut against Ipeland in World Cup 57 qualifying, but has put in some more impressive performances since. Like many of his teammates, Pulkki left Inland Peaks after their relegation in VLeague 26, and headed over to Eastal Lunar. Pulkki was a star for Eastal during VLeague 27 earning a transfer to former champions Cednia Beach AFC for VLeague 28. After a season and a half in Cednia Beach, Pulkki moved to the Turoki Tide at the midway point of V-League Season 29.

[ 94 ] Miiara Makose [ - Strike FC - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 67 :: GOALS::SR: 4 U21: REG: ) :: [ 7.18 Average Rating ]
Makose has Druidan blood, though has been diluted through multiple generations. He was trained as a goalkeeper in Turori but did not want to be stuck in the shadows of Nycflala Kater, so switched over to the defensive role when joining the Strike Academy. The transition was clearly justified as Makose was one of the top performing players in World Cup 57 qualifying, carrying a 6.65 average rating while appearing in 14 of Vilita's 16 group matches. Makose was also part of Strike's dominating VLeague 27 performances winning the League and Cup titles with the club and repeated the feat during VLeague 29, doing one better, having scored the game-winning goal in the 86th minute of the Cup Final against the rival Yeaddin Owls. Incredibly, Makose did it again during the Season 30 Cup Final, scoring the opening goal of Strike's 2-0 victory over Colonial Sile.

[ 66 ] Sipaao Vereaoao [ - Kiiarana - ]
------- D L ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 10 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 8.22 Average Rating ]
A product of the Inland Academy, Vereaoao has played in both Vilita & Turori, but committed his future to the Jungle Cats when featuring for them as a half time substitute against Nitrome Island during World Cup 57 qualifying. Vereaoao left long-time home Inland Peaks after they failed to achieve promotion from the Declasse during VLeague 27. Vereaoao signed for Marine Coast United, who had earned promotion in addition to a place in International Competitions. However, with Marine Coast struggling to keep pace in the Stellar Division, Vereaoao jumped ship to free-spending Kiiarana for V-League Season 29, becoming a big part of the team that would challenge atop the table - finishing 3rd during Season 33 and qualifying for the UICA Champions League.

[ 4 ] Tyaoino Munviola [ - Yeaddin Owls - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 8 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.44 Average Rating ]
A towering defender with a dependable head, Munviola is not afraid to join the attack on corner kicks, and rarely loses a defensive header. His feet have let him down from time to time, but have been improving. Despite his inconsistencies, Munviola was a surprise package during World Cup 57 qualifying, making 6 appearances and having a strong ratings average. After multiple seasons in the Non-League with Laiotia Locals, Munviola finally signed a league contract to play with Declasse side Mavaloiao for Season 30. Munviola's fast rise continued when making the big switch to V-League Champions Makosile for Season 32. Things fell apart quickly for the Makos who were anything but strong in their title defense, Munviola jumping ship back to the big island signing with the Yeaddin Owls for Season 33.

[ 68 ] Kadi Molali [ - Cednia Beach AFC - ]
------- D R ( AGE: 26 CAPS: 76 :: GOALS::SR: 5 U21: REG: ) :: [ 7.27 Average Rating ]
Molali has the ability to make stunning runs up the right side of the field and has put together exciting 'from-nothing' goal scoring opportunities in weekly scrimmage matches. Molali was an exciting prospect for the Turoki Academy who was solid, but not exceptional during World Cup 57 Qualifying, making 13 appearances and scoring 1 goal. After joining multiple clubs, including Strike FC, Molali left the VLeague abrubtly in the middle of VLeague 26. After some time off, Molali returned, signing for Eastal Lunar FC and completing a strong VLeague Season 27. Following Eastal Lunar's relegation, however, Molali - fearing the relegation could cost him appearances in the National Team, made the switch over to perennial Turorian UICA representatives Cednia Beach AFC.

[ 67 ] Eda Shindhi [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 26 CAPS: 14 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 7.13 Average Rating ]
Shindhi is a player in the mold of former Marine Coast defensive stalwarts Ade Hinds and Sibusiso Azaiez. While Shindhi still has some development to go before realizing his full potential, it is expected that he will continue to get a run out from time to time as his skills progress. Shindhi made his competitive debut in defeat against Brendino the 3rd during World Cup 57 Qualifying but did not impress in that performance. After being trainined at the Coastal Academy, Shindhi signed his first professional contract with Marine Coast United. Shindhi switched to Cednia Beach AFC when Marine Coast were relegated for V-League 27, not enjoying success there, eventually returning to Vilita to play for the Turoki Tide, finishing runners up in V-League 28. Shindhi moved to Arcticala for V-League 30.

[ 63 ] Baiiub Jual-Knakok [ - Makosile - ]
------- D LC ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 2 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 4.36 Average Rating ]
A product of the Coastal Academy, Jual-Knakok is a left footed defender nicknamed "the Cricket" by his peers. The Cricket has been loyal to the Laiotia Locals in the Non-Leagues ever since signing his first professional contract, though the lack of exposure and experience has dropped him down the National Team depth chart. After multiple seasons in the Non-League with Laiotia Locals, and the Locals once again missing out on an invitation to join the League system, Jual-Knakok finally signed a league contract to play with Marine Coast United for Season 30, but quickly moved on to the Stellar Division, eventually settling with Makosile United

[ 8 ] Ricata Amakra [ - Orbital Kickers - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 26 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.00 Average Rating ]
The product of the Alikka-Corra Academy is a defender being compared locally with former Alikki-Corra FC defender Emarka Laniora. While he doesn't yet share the same ability to charge up either wing with the ball, his solid defensive skills should see him earn some playing time with the National Team. Amakra has been a star performer in the Non-Leagues with the Orbital Kickers.

[ 4 ] Timmson Leabiura [ - Winding Street (CvC) - ]
------- D C ( AGE: 26 CAPS: 4 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.00 Average Rating ]
The development of Timmson Leabiura seems to be hampered by his family's inability to stay put, and he has found himself at 6 different academies in his short sporting career. After training at the Strike Academy off and on, it was hoped by pundits that his development would spark. Leabiura would instead move to Civil Citizenry to play with Winding Street.

DEFENSIVE MID:

[ 36 ] Retiso Buran [ - Strike FC - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 26 CAPS: 76 :: GOALS::SR: 7 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.75 Average Rating ]
Retiso Buran was the top prospect at the Sile Academy specializing in the defensive midfield role once made famous by Jürgen Ramzi. Buran is a ferocious player who some has said can be seen with teeth gritted ready to pounce as the attacking side approaches. Appearing almost exclusively during World Cup 57 qualifying, Buran missed only one game and scored 2 goals during the campaign. Burans perofmances both for the National Team and for Makosile earned him a transfer to Strike FC for Season 27, where he earned the Vilitan Stellar Divisions top goalscorer award for the second consecutive season, the first time ever achieved by a midfielder.

[ 39 ] Tujamu Treola [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 23 CAPS: 18 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.93 Average Rating ]
A product of the Strike Academy, Tujamu Treola excels both defensively in the midfield, and with his head both defensively and on corner kicks. Treola made his competitive debut in World Cup 57 qualifying against West Zirconia. After spending the majority of his youth at Tivali United, Treola joined Jlinal Cove in the middle of Season 31 to attempt to save them from relegation but was unsuccessful, later making the switch back to the Stellar Division to play with Arcticala Inlet.

[ 34 ] Danie Izmao [ - Kiiarana - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.00 Average Rating ]
Izmao was a Strike Academy prospect who, while not rated as the highest defensive midfield prospect at the academy, was still expected to get a run out with the National Squad in World Cup 57 Qualifiers. That chance never came, and the Venom weren't interested when it came time to award professional contracts. Izmao went across the road to Lonngeylin Coast and was instrumental in helping them not only get invited to rejoin the Vilitan League System - but for the first time ever, to stay there for at least a second consecutive season. Izmao is still part of the national team player pool, especially should any injuries come in to play

[ 38 ] Dronik Ratuva [ - Morata Valley - ]
------- DM RLC ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 5 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 7.80 Average Rating ]
Dronik Ratuva was an exciting prospect from the Valley Academy, who is also able to move wide to defensively cover the wings when 2 or 3 central defenders are used. Ratuva helped Morata Valley earn promotion to the Stellar Division during VLeague 26.

[ 30 ] Ukalai Saluria [ - Kiiarana - ]
------- DM C ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.00 Average Rating ]
Saluria was a product of the Turoki Academy, who has trained with the National Team as an alternate since World Cup 57. Saluria played much of his early career for Jaguar Moreda in the Vilitan Non-League system. Saluria was discovered by Lopinka United during Season 31 and strong performances quickly earned hte midfielder a switch to Stellar Division side Turoki Tide for Season 32. Saluria was one of the few dark spots in the Tide's run to the championship and would not be retained for the Season 33 campaign. Kiiarana City snapped him up where he became the V-Leagues lowest performing international player, once again, inspite of the strong performances by his club.

MIDFIELDERS:

[ 28 ] Riksa Valjariia [ - Turoki Tide - ]
------- AM C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 19 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.00 Average Rating ]
Valjariia is an attacking midfielder who was trained at the Turoki Academy. Valjariia tends to come on the pitch to provide an attack boost, some times as a second attacking midfielder in a substitute role. Valjariia played professionally for Inland Peaks FC before moving to the Turoki Tide

[ 27 ] Rexii Tzikas [ - Turoki Tide - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 70 :: GOALS::SR: 16 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.34 Average Rating ]
Tzikas was the top propsect of the Arcticala Academy, and one of the most highly rated players in the Vilitan National Team pool entering World Cup 57 Qualifiers. The Tzikas name has some history in Vilitan Sport, formerly, Toby Tzikas was a midfielder on the National Team, though he was less known than other former Vilitan Stars as he played his club football in Starblaydia. Rexii was the only Vilitan player to start every single match during qualifications for World Cup 57. His presence was strong averaging a 6.01 rating with 2 goals. Tzikas strong performances also were reflected domestically scoring 9 goals in 2 seasons with Turoki Tide before transferring to Cednia Beach for VLeague 28 season. Tzikas returned home to Turoki during Season 31, rejoining the Tide after 3 seasons in Turori.

[ 73 ] Manolis Kontalroma [ - Yeaddin Owls - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 20 :: GOALS::SR: 3 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.66 Average Rating ]
A product of the Kiiara Academy, Manolis Kontalroma can play central or on the left side in a classic midfield role. After signing professionally with Jlinal Cove FC, Kontalroma joined the Yeaddin Owls during Vleague 26. Kontalroma stayed at Yeaddin for over 3 seasons before joining the Turoki Tide during VLeague 30. Kontalroma played just 9 games for the Tide before the Owls snapped him back up for Season 31, a return to form of sorts as the Owls returned to the title picture.

[ 21 ] Jomur Hulyer [ - Strike FC - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 91 :: GOALS::SR: 13 U21: REG: ) :: [ 7.33 Average Rating ]
A decsendent of the exciting Marine Coast and Yeaddin midfielder Jonjo Hulyer, Jomur has been compared heavily to his ancestors and even carries the same squad number. Unlike Jonjo, however, Jomur was trained at the Yeaddin Academy. Hulyer would soon become the quickest player to ever represent all three of the original Vilitan Dynasties, signing his first professional contract with Marine Coast United before transferring to Strike for VLeague 28.

[ 51 ] Steffyn Siazzu [ - Turoki Tide - ]
------- AM C ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 85 :: GOALS::SR: 9 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.93 Average Rating ]
An exciting prospect from the Yeaddin Academy, Siazzu plays behind the strikers in a clean up or attacking role atop the midfield. Despite not scoring during World Cup 57 Qualifiers, Siazzu was an important presence. After spending many seasons in Yeaddin, Siazzu moved to the Turoki Tide, helping them to runners-up in the VLeague29 table.

[ 25 ] Kiroki Mitaroka [ - Inland Peaks FC - ]
------- M RLC ( AGE: 21 CAPS: :: GOALS::SR: U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
After starting at the Turoki Locals in the Lower Leagues, Mitaroka's talent was spotted by Inland Peaks FC who snapped the youngster up for V-League season 29. At the midway point of the season Mitaroka was setting the Declasse on fire with skillful performances and caught the attention of the Vilitan coaches who added Mitaroka to the World Cup 59 roster despite having never been called to the National Team before.

[ 74 ] Jian Lejsrma [ - Strike FC - ]
------- AM RL ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 42 :: GOALS::SR: 12 U21: REG: ) :: [ 7.09 Average Rating ]
Lejsrma is a speed demon who was trained at the Strike Academy. The most dynamic and pacey winger in the Vilitan system, he is expected to be a great player for many seasons to come. At this stage in his development, he may get overlooked as he works more on his technique and vision, but with experience, he will learn these skills. Lejsrma has been an important part of Strike FC's VLeague successes

[ 53 ] Resaie Kentiak [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 57 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.70 Average Rating ]
Kentiak is a product of the Coastal Academy who has played a substitute role in the center of midfield for the Vilitan National Team.

[ 78 ] Relmar Winauat [ - Strike FC - ]
------- M RC ( AGE: 26 CAPS: 0 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ N/R ]
Winauat was a product of the Turoki Academy who has been known to hit some quality long range shots. However, he has also been known to blast the ball over the net from 5 or 6 yards out. Winauat was part of Strike FC's VLeague 27 championship side.

[ 29 ] Cristoh Nrubari [ - Colonial Sile - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 26 CAPS: 1 :: GOALS::SR: 0 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.00 Average Rating ]
Nrubari was a prospect out of the Kiiara Academy who signed his first professional contract with Mliona-Lpaka in Turori. Nrubari was instrumental in Mliona-Lpaka's return to the Stellar Division before moving on to other opportunities. Nrubari got the chance to play in the UICA Champions League, joining Makosile United after their breakthrough Season 31 Stellar Division title.

[ 55 ] Viliaka Morasita [ - Cednia Beach AFC (TUR) - ]
------- M LC ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 44 :: GOALS::SR: 6 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.35 Average Rating ]
Morasita was the top prospect coming out of the Tivali Academy, playing central and left midfield. His sure footed tackling ability is noted but he is a well balanced midfielder. After playing a season and a half professionally for Alikki-Corra, Morasita joined the Vilitan League with Inland Peaks FC midway through VLeague 27. After spending 3 succesful seasons in the Declasse, Morasita transfered to Stellar Division side Cednia Beach AFC during Season 31.

[ 70 ] Aniara Jiurjai [ - Kiiarana - ]
------- M RLC ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 20 :: GOALS::SR: 2 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.37 Average Rating ]
Jiurjai was trained in Turori but declared for Vilita after being called upon for World Cup 57 Qualifying. Jiurjai can play both central and outside midfield and can use both feet equally well. After declaring for Vilita, Jiurjai moved from Turori to Turoki to play with the Turoki Tide. Strong performances during VLeague 26 earned Jiurjai a transfer to Strike for VLeague 27 where the midfielder was instrumental to Strike's League and Cup double. However, Strike's success would eventually lead to Jiurjai being excessed as an influx of new signings joined the club, and the midfielder opted to move to Arcticala Inlet when the contract allowed during Season 31, accomplishing little before moving on to Kiiarana City

[ 24 ] Astara Daiili [ - Kiiarana - ]
------- M C ( AGE: 26 CAPS: 40 :: GOALS::SR: 4 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.18 Average Rating ]
Daiili is a classic central midfielder who prefers a holding role and short distribution. With Starblaydi blood and Vilitan determination, Daiili was a consistent performer during World Cup 57 Qualifiers making 19 appearances with a 6.07 average rating. After spending the first 6 seasons of the career in Crosaibi, Daiili jumped ship at struggling Marine Coast for a team with far more Starblayde heritage, Kiiarana City.

FORWARDS:

[ 15 ] Sirkii Moliaudo [ - Kiiarana - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 46 :: GOALS::SR: 12 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.23 Average Rating ]
Moliaudo is a real force in front of goal, rarely missing from inside the penalty area. Many eyes were on Moliaudo during the World Cup Campaign, to see how he fared with a new partner in attack, having spent his entire development partnered with Xcnaio Bansoa at the Coastal Academy. Moliaudo mostly performed well netting 4 goals and having a strong rating, but still left some wondering if there was more talent to be mined from the Marine Coast youngster. After Bansoa left Marine Coast for greener pastures, Moliaudo remained and his stock also decreased. After a second relegation with Marine Coast, Moliaudo jumped ship up the Vilitan coast to Kiiarana City.

[ 9 ] Lita Adjei [ - Arcticala Inlet - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 23 :: GOALS::SR: 6 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.78 Average Rating ]
A product of the Turoki Academy, Adjei has sport in the blood, being a descendent of former Stellar Division top Forward award winner Ippolit Adjei. Adjei moved on a loan to newly promoted Hojosan in The Yorozura after WC57 quals as part of an investment deal with the clubs kit sponsors, VIlitan based Vilaye energy drink. When that deal expired, Adjei returned to the Vilitan League, being snapped up by Kiiarana in the Stellar Division and quickly rising to the level of stardom with strong performances and crucial goals during Season 29, seeing the single-cap player called to the squad for World Cup 59. Adjei's impressive performances earned him a high-profile transfer to Arcticala Inlet for V-League 30 where the strong performances continued, including earning the highest performance rating in the V-League during Season 33 while scoring 11 goals.

[ 17 ] Viji-mara Lawaai [ - Strike FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 71 :: GOALS::SR: 16 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.51 Average Rating ]
Trained at the Strike Academy, Lawaai has excelled at shooting from long range, and making space on the edge of the penalty area with crafty turns, and may produce opportunities for free kicks if he wears down the opposition approaching the box. Lawaii made 8 substitute appearances during World Cup 57 qualifying, making his competitive debut against Krytenia, but failed to find the scoresheet.

[ 44 ] Erocka Lorei [ - Kiiarana - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 24 CAPS: 23 :: GOALS::SR: 13 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.35 Average Rating ]
The top attacking prospect at the Kiiara Academy, Erocka Lorei was expected to get quite a few chances to impress on the national stage during World Cup 57 Qualifying and did not dissapoint, leading the Vilitan team in goals scored with 5 in the competition despite only featuring in 11 out of 16 matches. Lorei claims to be a penalty kick specialist but has not been known for his aerial ability. Lorei signed professionally for Declasse side Liguon Valley during Season 26, but moved on to the Stellar Division during Season 27 with Makosile.

[ 48 ] Actalia Mermaioada [ - Turoki Tide - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 5 :: GOALS::SR: 1 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.98 Average Rating ]
Mermaioada was a prospect of the Strike Academy, who also excels at water sports, a fact that some pundits have argued hampers his development on the pitch. While not even featuring on the bench for early World Cup 57 qualifying matches, Mermaioada finally made his competitive debut as a half-time substitute against Ipeland and would feature as a sub for three consecutive matches before the return of Kilpter to the lineup. Mermaioada looked to have broken into the lineup during the Cup of Harmony, scoring in Vilita's 5-3 opening match victory. However, the decision to attempt a cross-channel swim on the bye day in the middle of the competition put Mermaioada out of favor with the coaching staff once again. Mermaioada appeared to be completely off the radar before being snapped up from Non-League Surf Jettica by Strike for VLeague 30.

[ 43 ] Kristofer Kilpter [ - East Franz Athletic (PIS) - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 56 :: GOALS::SR: 16 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.24 Average Rating ]
Kilpter is joint Vilitan & Turori national, but declared to play for Vilita, with the lure of World Cup competition in Vilita's entry into World Cup 57 the key decision maker after the Turorian side was not entered. Kilpter netted 4 times during the World Cup 57 campaign but missed three matches due to an undisclosed injury. After struggling to win silverware with the Yeaddin Owls, Kilpter made the Largest Transfer in V-League history (12.7 kT) to Turorian side Cednia Beach. The transfer was more than double the 4.5kT previous transfer record in the Vilitan League, which was also payed by Cednia Beach to Yeaddin (for Antonis Siazzu). The struggles continued for Kilpter in the hunt for Silverware as Cednia Beach simply could not get over the hurdle, either in the V-League or in the UICA Champions League. Cednia Beach recouped their transfer fee in dishing Kilpter out to East Franz Athletic in the Polar Islandstates prior to Season 33. A rejuvinated Kilpter received praise for his performances in the Polar Islandstates while Cednia Beach would go on to miss out on Champions Cup qualification for the first time.

[ 13 ] Yves Gadois [ - Strike FC - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 21 CAPS: 40 :: GOALS::SR: 15 U21: REG: ) :: [ 6.59 Average Rating ]
Gadois became a hot topic in Vilita after rising to glory as the spearhead for Strike FC's Vleague 27 championship, with 8 league goals and an incredibly 6 goals in the Vilitan Cup. Gadois, a product of the Inland Academy, earned an invitation to the National Team Training camp for the first time in the build up to World Cup 58.

[ 49 ] Xcnaio Bansoa [ - Makosile - ]
------- F C ( AGE: 25 CAPS: 20 :: GOALS::SR: 3 U21: REG: ) :: [ 5.93 Average Rating ]
Bansoa was a training partner of Sirkii Moliaudo at the Coastal Academy, and many believed that Moliaudo's prowess in front of goal was due solely to his close partnership with Bansoa. After not being called to the line during World Cup 57 Qualifiers, Bansoa decided it was time for a change, breaking ties with Moliaudo and Marine Coast United, signing for Arcticala Inlet in the Stellar Division. Bansoa featured frequently for the Jungle Cats during the World Cup 58 Campaign, performing well, but scoring no goals, relegating him from the top selection in the subsequent Cup of Harmony held in Vilita and New Montreal States.

Birolika are in the world cup, however it looks like having any level of success in this cup will be hampered by the fact that the team is terrible. You only really have to look as far as the Baptism of Fire when we going knocked off in the group stage. The centre of the team has to be Peldon midfielder Orick Blaines who scored most of Peldon's goals as a midfielder, he is also playing in this position for his country. This will be Birolika's first cup and their first step into a piece of history, so lets have a look at their squad then.

With the abolition of private property, then, we shall have true, beautiful, healthy Individualism. Nobody will waste his life in accumulating things, and the symbols for things. One will live. To live is the rarest thing in the world. Most people exist, that is all.

Gordonopian National Team
World Cup 62

Starting Eleven

Formation
4-3-1-2

Jay Neuman
Image

In somewhat of surprise, manager Michael Neu selected up and coming, but uncapped, Jay Neuman as the starting goalie for the national squad. Neuman rocketed to prominence as FC Deska's keeper this year, where he won the Golden Glove in the wake of Ludwig Strauss' retirement. Though he has been tested in both GPL and UICA competition, the selection of the young Neuman over last cycle's starting keeper, Derrick Schmidt, caused some controversy. Most of it revolved around Neu's former position as Deska manager, although some criticism was given on the fact that Neuman has not yet seen an international game. Nevertheless, the young Neuman has shown himself to be an adept keeper over the past year, and if he performs as well as he has on the club level, he has the potential to establish a dynasty on the national team just as Strauss did before him.
GK - 21 - Club: Image FC Deska - 0 Caps - 0 Goals

Roger Steiner - Vice-Captain
A veteran defender proven in FC Deska's legendary defensive style, Roger Steiner is perhaps the best back currently in the GPL. As the anchor of and the most experienced player on the National Team's defensive line, Steiner has proven that he deserves his vice-captain spot. In addition to his ability to break up plays, Steiner is very skilled at tackling as well as marking, and his talents will likely be very important to the success of the team. Recently, Steiner has indicated that he would consider playing abroad, though with Deska working hard to keep its top man, only a top ranked team will be able to get him out of Gordonopia. After putting out a decent performance in the most recent Cup of Harmony, it is possible that a strong World Cup performance could attract the gaze of the world's top flight.
LB - 29 - Club: Image FC Deska - 35 Caps - 1 Goals

Fritz Cole
The star of Willingham AC's defense, Fritz Cole initially earned his spot on the starting eleven after a stellar performance in the final three matches of qualification for World Cup 60. Following that, Cole was elevated to the Starting 11 roster in the Cup of Harmony, where he showed himself to be one of the stronger members of the squad. After watching a pulled muscle through the most recent Cup of Harmony, Cole appears to be back to form. His skills mostly lie in counters and tackling, but he has a diverse range of talents on the defensive end.
CB - 25 - Club: Image Willingham AC - 22 Caps - 0 Goals

Matty Paige
Signed to Ittuributa United after a stellar 2012 GPL season with the Kjeldor Knights, Matty Paige is perhaps the most successful Gordonopian abroad. Named the best young player of the most recent Ittuributan season, Paige's squad, Iturributa United, won the most recent domestic championship. He has been a consistent presence at the national level, playing every game of the most recent cycle. On top of his agility, which has allowed him to keep up with breakaways, Paige has also demonstrated the rare defensive talent of being able to score should he be needed.
CB - 23 - Club: Image Iturributa United, Iturributa - 19 Caps - 2 Goals

Michael Stahl
GPL Clubs Represented

# Club Name
4 FC Deska
2 Reichsburg FC
2 Reinhiem Metro
1 Basin Plain
1 Gordonopia FC
1 Kaje Football
1 Latimere United
1 Union Holiday
1 West Tolten
1 Willingham AC

Michael Stahl is a stellar defender and native of Deska, as well as a former FC Deska man. After a full qualifying campaign, and a move to Tarahal Lakes Athletic from his previous Yesopalithan team, Stahl has shown himself to be adept as preventing chances before they even materialize. Generally level-headed, Stahl is rarely forced to resort to fouls in order to stop a play. He has had troubles in the past when working with a teammate on a double-team, but outside of that, Stahl is an ideal defender for the National Team.
RB - 28 - Club: Image Tarahal Lake Athletic - 21 Caps - 1 Goals

James Stahl
Although his position on the starting lineup is constantly contested by several young, talented reserve players, James Stahl has continued to earn his place. Playing the entirety of the previous campaign certainly brought him much experience, although he will need to continue to improve in order to stay ahead. Nevertheless, his physical defensive style brings some needed muscle to the team's lineup, and although he may end up bringing in some cards, his presence is still necessary.
LDM - 23 - Club: Image FC Deska - 22 Caps - 0 Goals

Davis Roger
A powerful, young defensive midfielder, Davis Roger earned his spot on the national team through his superb stamina and technical skills, as well as his solid performance during the team's qualification attempt. His greatest strength remains his ability to intercept passes, a statistic in which he led the GPL for two years running, and which he put to good use in games such as the national team's famous 2-0 upset of 6th ranked Valanora in World Cup 60 qualification.
CDM - 23 - Club: Image New Hazingafar Knights - 30 Caps - 0 Goals

Lane Franz
The fourth FC Deska player on the starting lineup, Lane Franz is viewed domestically as the third point, along with his fellow national teammates Steiner and Stahl, in a deadly triangle that has helped proliferate Deska's defensive might in Gordonopia beyond the Strauss-era. Working as a highly efficient screen, Franz has managed to shut down numerous breakaways before they even begin. Supported by the rest of the national teams' defense, and backed up by Steiner, Stahl, and now Jay Neuman, Franz completes a defense that has benefited from two cycles of relative consistency. The fact that most of the lineup has remained the same, while the players have managed to improve, gives hope to Gordonopian supporters for a big year.
RDM - 28 - Club: Image FC Deska - 32 Caps - 1 Goals

Norm Bates - Captain
The captain of the National Team, Bate's experience and talent makes him just as much a celebrity in Gordonopia as his status as a war hero and his numerous romantic exploits that range from athletes to nobles. One of only two players remaining from the West Tolten that won the City of Steel's last Gordonopia Cup during the Republican era, Bates is now one of of the 'elder statesmen' of the Gordonopian game. The 'elder', though, should be taken with a grain of salt, as in his last season Bates won the league Golden Boot with the all-time record in assists on top of his impressive goal count. Of note is the fact that Bates, if he remains in form, will pass Ludwig Strauss to become the most capped Gordonopian international of all time, and the first to break the 50 mark. Both he, and vice-captain Steiner, are within striking distance of the mark depending on the length of qualification.
AM - 34 - Club: Image West Tolten - 36 Caps - 6 Goals

Jere Tobias
Jere Tobias has established himself as an essential part of the team's offense. After winning the golden boot in 2012, Tobias has bounced around internationally, first to Juvillian Martinax of Erathore, and then to Paramus FC of Vielha. He recently announced his intention to return to the GPL, though he has yet to sign with a club. With his ability to both score, and recognize when someone else has a better chance, Tobias has a lot to back up his position on the team. He certainly needs it, though, as Gordonopia's depth in strikers is uncharacteristically strong.
ST - 25 - Club: Unattached - 32 Caps - 10 Goals

Vonn Keller
Jere Tobias' successor on the powerhouse Kaje Football squad, Vonn Keller is a striker who works stunningly with other players. At home, that player is AM Roman Galoslon. On the national team, that player is captain Norm Bates. Keller's incredible speed, and his ability to avoid the offsides trap, makes him an ideal candidate for a deep striker.
ST - 25 - Club: Image Kaje Football - 17 Caps - 7 Goals

Stadium
Empire Stadium, Gordonopia City
Capacity: 122,000 (expandable to 160,000, with standing room and additional seats)
Empire Stadium is the shrine to Gordonopian football. Built as one of the first major public works projects following the Civil War, the stadium is the primary home for the national team, as well as the home site for the Gordonopia Cup and Inter-League Cup Finals, on top of other notable matches. Located in the colossal Capital Metropolitan Area, home to nearly 200,000,000 people, it is impossible to find a football match at the stadium that isn't sold out, despite the fact that the area has, at various times, been home to as many as four top flight football squads, and several in the second tier, each of which have their own stadium.

Regarding RP permissions - so long as I don't have to replace a large chunk of my roster, thwart a terrorist attack or fend off an invasion, I probably won't have a problem with it. I only ask you be sensible.
I will note, however, that in accordance with the general low-fantasy structure of my nation, the Geisenfried government secretly employs a pseudoscientific anti-magic field throughout the country - while they'll never ICly admit to this fact, you'll nevertheless find the laws of physics are enforced far more strictly here than elsewhere. 'Magical' creatures won't necessarily feel any ill effects, but won't be able to access any supernatural abilities for the duration of their stay. There'll be no such restrictions on away matches, as it affects only the country itself, not the players. Just something to keep in mind.

Bears Armed

‘The Bear-Belles’

National football organisation: ‘Bears Armed Association for Soccer’ (= ‘BAAS’).
(Chairbear: Arrannah Graye [Chairbear of River City S.C.])
National anthem (for sports): ‘The Banner Green And Gold’.

Yes, it still is an all-female team. As I’ve explained before, this is because the main ball-game that's traditionally been played in Bears Armed is actually a form of Rugby, but [for several reasons] the professional league for that sport is all-male and so some of the female players decided that switching to Soccer — and trying to establish a professional league for that sport for themselves instead — might be a viable alternative: They were right, because that professional league was founded shortly after WC44 and so has now been in operation for over an eightSquared of years.

All of the players are actual Ursines (i.e. anthropomorpic, bipedal Bears)], except for any whom I actually specify as being members of other ‘peoples’ instead. The Harr'aynau people are physically human (more-or-less, anyway, although inclined towards heavy builds & hairiness), but are spiritually & culturally Ursine instead.

According to Bears Armed’s timeline, the qualifiers for WC62 take place in 2081-’82AD, and the Cup proper in 2083AD: All figures given here for people’s ages and lengths of experience are the values applying in the first of those three years.

Manager & Chief Coach: Urra ‘Honey’ SunBlesséd _ A female Ursine from the Sun Clan, she has 76(!) years of experience in football and played for the Bear-Belles from BoF#31 right through into WC#57. She is now 93 years old but, although not amongst the people from the team’s former staff who were “rejuvenated” in 2042, still seems quite ‘young’ both physically and mentally. She is right-pawed, with ‘honey-brown’ fur, and has very good eyesight even by human (rather than Ursine) standards. She is a very accurate kicker, and was therefore one of the usual first choices for taking free kicks & penalties. Her nickname comes from her fur-colour, and her very sweet nature: Originally it was also because (as we must admit…) she was rather “thick”, but then she ‘grew-up’ mentally during WWC12 & the qualifiers for WC50 so that now she has a verrry good mind indeed… She acted as manager for the [“unified”] U21 teams that Bears Armed entered in DBC13 (=> runners-up) and DBC14 (=> quarter-finals), whilst WC58 (with its qualifiers) was her first competition in charge of the country’s senior team.

Deputy Manager (Admin): Amarra Marra o Harruor
(female Ursine, from Clan Harruor Erruur; formerly a staff member at BAAS, appointed to this job just before DBC21; age = 40, fur = medium-brown).

Deputy Manager (Coaching): Hirrdhra o TrueHeart
(female Ursine; Clan = BerryGlades; age = 41 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown with [natural] ‘strawberry’ highlights; seems to have a knack for anticipating opponents’ actions; also qualified as a Dream Interpreter. She made her international debut in DBC18, as a starting Midfielder & the Captain, shifting to Lynchpin -- & still Captain – in DBC19 (although some of you may also remember her as a spectator from WC54) before transferring to the main team... stayed with the Bear-Belles through to the end of their WC61 run, in the latter years as the team’s Captain ... and has just transferred to management instead although she was player-manager at her home team (Merlchester Rovers, where she played as a Midfielder or Defender [usually at ‘Lynchpin’]) for five years before this; playing experience = 31 years, managerial experience = 5 years.

Defensive Coach: Jhargeena o Wirrene
(female Ursine; Clan = Herrchaum, age = 46, right-pawed, fur = very light brown with some reddish hints; languages spoken = Verrene, Ursine ['HeartWoods' dialect], and English; religion = 'Wookha' ; she sometimes seems to have a sort of "sixth sense" about what's going to happen on the pitch during the next few moments; off of the pitch, she favours loose skirts and draped scarves in bright (& often contrasting) colours, with more jewellery than is typical for Ursines (i.e. her people's equivalent of a 'Gypsy chic' look…) in emulation of her [rather distant] relative Arna-Maggra; The only new addition to the team for WC56, she had actually been short-listed for DBC17 but had had to stay at home instead back then due to a family emergency; she played for Mighty Herrchaum as a Defender, and became a member of the Bear-Belles [usual position = Left Back] until & including the ‘Golden Honeycomb’ friendly before the qualifiers for WC60 began: playing experience = 23 years; appointed to this job for the WC60 qualifiers & onwards).

Attacking Coach: Taborra Sheerh
(female Tiggrahth'hrra [i.e. anthropomorphic Tiger]; Clan = Tiggrahth'hrra; age = 44 years, right-pawed, fur = black with orange stripes; "Fast and furious"; she played for Kingly City as a Lynchpin, Midfielder, or Forward, for 13 years [until just before these qualifiers began] and was widely credited with playing a major role in powering that team’s rise back up through the Upper Division from relegation-threatened to a regular place in the top four; She made her international debut in WC57 ‘proper’ [ joining the Belles after the qualifying stages of that tournament; playing experience = 14 years; appointed to this job for the WC60 qualifiers & onwards).

Doctor: Rebearrch’hra o RedRose
(female Ursine, from the RedRose ‘Free Sept’; age = 45, left-pawed, fur = medium brown with reddish highlights; hired just before DBC21.)

Physiotherapist: Behrthye NorthWalker
(female Harr’aynau [humanoid], from Clan WildWoods; age = 41, right-handed, hair = ginger; hired just before DBC21.)

Routemaster (this job involves handling all of the squad’s travelling arrangements): This is currently a part of Amarra Marra o Harruor’s duties.

Chaplain, ‘One Plus Seven’: Urrsulha Nightfall
(female Ursine from the Silver-of-Night; age = early/mid-40s, left-pawed, fur = silvery; assigned to this job, by the Great Medicine Society, just before the qualifiers for WC57.)

Chaplain, Ursion: Derrik Ommin
(male Ursine, from Clan Artorran; age = 47; right-pawed, fur = light brown & fairly short, he is a bit closer to ‘human’ in shape than is the average Ursine; seconded to this post from the staff of the ArchPriest of New Sarrum, who is the Earthly head of the Ursion Church; he is a keen student of Football, both nationally & internationally, and can bore for England Bears Armed on the details of teams’ records & players’ careers [and about the statistics involved, too: Did I mention yet that he originally trained as a statistician? ^_^ ] — if you give him even half a chance…)

Security Chief: Major Arran Warrd
(male Ursine, from Clan Herrchaum; age = 46, left-pawed, fur = dark grey; easily overlooked, most of the time; seconded from [an unspecified unit within] the Confederal Army to this job just before the qualifiers for WC57.)

Caterers: Jorrdon Blue.

‘Mascot’: ‘The Wise Grorrfinn’
(male ‘TrueBear’; age = undisclosed [but considering some of his appearances in old stories apparently somewhere over 1’500, at least...], ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown) (During WC54 it was revealed that he is the maternal grandfather of Urra ‘Honey’ SunBlesséd.)

Roster

(#1) Marranna NorthStar _ Clan = NorthStar [‘Free Sept’]; home team = NorthPort Navigators, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 14 years; age = 27 years, right-pawed, fur = very light brown, she has very quick reflexes and keen senses. (She made her international debut in DBC21.)

(#5) Sa’marra o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods; home team = Barrden Barbariennes, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 12 years; age = 27 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & quite long, she is not only rather tall (7’2”) but has a deceptively long reach even in proportion to that height. (She made her international debut in the qualifiers for WC60.)

(#32) Arna Hawthorne _ Clan = Harruor Erruur; Home team = LakePort Lionesses, category & usual position = Goalkeeper, experience = 6 years; age = 21 years, right-pawed, fur = medium-brown, “Miss Average” in appearance”, but definitely above-average in skill. (She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

(#2) Lueth’hree Redwood _ Clan = Redwood; home team = River City, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back, experience = 19 years; age = 29 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown. (She made her international debut in DBC21, and also played in Brevity Cup 2, both of which the Bears won, before the qualifiers for WC60....)

(#3) Urratharra o SouthWoods _ Clan = WestWoods; home team = GramBridge Town, category = Defender or Midfielder, preferred & usual position = Right Back, experience = 21 years; age = 33 years, right-pawed, fur = medium-brown. (She made her international debut in DBC19, as a substitute, and was then a starter in DBC20, before joining the senior team for Brevity Cup 2 and the qualifiers for WC60.)

(#17) Urranna o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = River City, category = Defender, usual position = Left Back, experience = 5 years; age = 20 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & quite long. (She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

(#20) Affehhindh’hrra Savernake _ Clan = Errhabarra; Home team = Harr Burran Heroines, category = Defender or Midfielder, usual position = Right Back or Right Half, experience = 6 years; age = 22 years, right-pawed, fur = light-medium brown. (She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

(#26) Darrarlha o GoodSword _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category = Defender or Lynchpin or Midfielder, usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 18 years; age = 32 years, ambidextrous, fur = blonde; a superlative player, and a good tactician. (She made her international debut in DBC21, which her team won, and then joined the Belles for WC59.) She wears with pride the same number that her aunt Urrthra o GoodSword — who died heroically in the fighting against the ‘Dead Bears Walking’ — bore through several Cups. She is now this team’s Captain.

(#4) Irdh’hrra o Errurr _ Clan = Errurr Erruur; Home team = PassPort Athletic, category = Lynchpin or Midfielder, usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 15 years; age = 30 years, left-pawed, fur = medium-brown, “average” looking but surprisingly fast. (She made her international debut in WC60.)

(#33) Urrsa BigBear _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = Barrden Barbariennes, category & usual position = Lynchpin, experience = 6 years; age = 20 years, left-pawed, fur = dark-medium brown & quite long, 7’6” tall & proportionately broad but fast on her feet anyway. (She made her international debut in WC60.)

(#6) Bruinhilda Addarich’-darthhrurr _ Clan = Vasrbora. Home team = LakePort Lionesses, category = Defender / (Defensive) Midfielder, preferred position = Midfield Left or Left Back, experience = 19 years; age = 33, left-pawed, fur = very light brown, relatively light build. (She made her international debut in World Cup 59 ‘proper’ [rather than in its qualifying stages].)

(#7) Urma Lightning _ Clan = Gunnar; Home team = Hero’s Park Heroines, category = Midfielder, usual position = Midfield Right, experience = 20 years; age = 33, right-pawed, fur = light brown. (She made her international debut in Brevity Cup 1.)

(#21) Serranna Foirrethin’s-daughter _ Vokkssurr (i.e. anthropomorphic Fox) _ Clan = WildWoods; Home team = Urrvan’s Avengers, category = Midfielder or Winger, preferred position = Midfield Left but also useful as Outside Left or even on the right as well, experience = 13 years; age = 28, left-pawed, fur = mostly dark chestnut but with rather pale throat & front. (She made her international debut in WC61.)

(#23) Errond’hrra Thunder-Child _ Clan = Gunnar; Home team = PassPort Athletic, category = Midfielder or Winger, usual position = Right Half or Right Winger, experience = 6 years; age = 20 years, right-pawed, fur = dark brown. (She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

(#11) Harrashia o Redwood _ Clan = Redwood; home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Forward /Winger/Midfielder, now usually being employed as a substitute and could end up in any of those positions, experience = 25 years; age = 38 years, ambidextrous, fur = medium-brown with hints of russet; she is a great-great-niece of Harroya “of the Rovers” o Redwood, former captain of the Bear-Belles, but gained this place on merit. (She made her international debut as a substitute in DBC 19, joining the Belles for WC57.)

(#12) Amarra Sunwatcher _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category = Forward, usual position = Right Forward (‘Inside Right’), experience = 22 years; age = 33 years, right-pawed, fur = “oatmeal” colour, eyesight good even by human standards, very fast on her feet, very accurate in ‘set pieces’ for which she is therefore one of the favoured takers. (She made her international debut in DBC20.)

[#13] Syrrae o Wirrenne _Clan = Herrchaum; Home team = Merlchester Rovers, category = Forward, usual position = Left Forward (Inside Left) but also good as Centre Forward, experience = 18 years; age = 32, left-pawed, fur = ‘platinum-blonde’; seems to have an [almost?] psychic instinct about where the ball and other players will be next. (She made her international debut in Brevity Cup 1.)

[#14] Thyrra Darma’s-darthhrr _ Clan = Thulean; Home team = Ursinborkh Angels, category = Forward, usual position = Right Forward (but has also done well as a Centre Forward), experience = 16 years; age = 29, right-pawed, fur = white [‘polar’], big — her height is 7’5”, and she’s built to match — but fast & agile anyway. (She made her international debut as a reserve, who did get some playing time, in the team that won DBC21.)

(#24) Sarrathrie Sevens _ Clan = Clouded Sun [Free Sept]; Home team = River City, category = Forward, usual position = Centre forward (but versatile), experience = 9 years; age = 33, ambidextrous, fur = cream; is a incredibly accurate shot, partly because she has very good sight even by human standards, is very accurate agile too. (She actually made her international debut as a member of the Bears’ team for DBC22, although the roster for that squad has never been made widely known, but the qualifiers for WC61 were her first time playing for her country again since then: She’s been verry thoroughly vetted, and seems to have been innocent of any involvement in whatever conspiracy it was that over-rode own BAAS’s plans for that earlier tournament.)

(#25) Urrth’hrra o Barrdenn _ Clan = GreenWoods; Home team = Barrdenn Barbariennes, category = Forward, usual position = Left Forward (‘Inside Left’), experience = 21 years; age = 33 years, right-pawed, fur = dark brown & quite long. (She made her international debut in DBC20 and also played in DBC21.)

(#27) Krissie Fairbearrn _ Clan = Sun; Home team = Kingly City, category = Forward/Winger, usual position = Right Forward or Right Winger, experience = 4 years; age = 18 years, right-pawed, fur = golden-brown, verry good eyesight. (She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

(#34) Sorrkhie Torr’hay_ Tiggrahth'hrra (i.e. anthropomorphic Tiger); Clan = Tiggrahth'hrra; Home team = Heroes’ Park Heroines, category = Forward, usual position = Centre Forward, experience = 6 years; age = 20 years, ambidextrous, fur = orange & black stripes. (She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

(#15) Hilgh’hra Westlander _ Harr’aynau humanoid; Clan = Redwood; home team = LakePort Lionesses, category = Forward or Winger, preferred & usual position = Right Winger, experience = 17 years; age = 28, right-pawed, hair = ginger. She made her international debut in Brevity Cup 2.)

(#16) Harrietta Karra o Hara _ Invisible Wabbit; Clan = BerryGlades (by adoption); home team = WideWindle Wanderers, category = Winger or Midfielder, usual position = Left Winger (' Outside Left'), experience = 17+ years; age = ???, ambidextrous, fur = light grey; she is INVISIBLE to most "mundane" people, but those should still be able to see the kit that she's wearing; less likely to resort to "ridiculous" trickery than might be the case in an all-Wabbit team, but still quite likely to do things like using her long ears to hold the ball in place on top of her head or running along on her hands whilst juggling the ball with her feet, both of which would of course make tackling her [within the rules] rather difficult. (WC59 was her international debut.)

(#30) Marra-Harra o Dusk _ Clan = Urrset; home team = Sun Valley Smashers, category = Winger or [Attacking] Midfielder, preferred & usual position = Left Winger (Outside Left), experience = 18 years; age = 30, left-footed, fur= reddish-brown, good at getting in where she isn’t expected. (She made her international debut in DBC21.)

(#31) Varrna o Kerr-Surra _ Clan = WestWoods; Home team = Wiston United, category = Winger or Midfielder, usual position = Right Winger or Right Half, experience = 4 years; age = 21 years, left-pawed, fur = cream; Lowfurran Christian. (She made her international debut in ‘Brevity Cup III’, the year before WC62’s qualifiers began.)

Usual Starters = #1 or #5 (alternating, more or less), 2-3, 26, 6-7, 12-16.
Usual Substitutes = #5 or #1 (alternating, more or less), 4, 11, 17, 23-24, 30.

Style: Offensive, modifier = +3.5… ("A good offence is the best defence"...)
Their usual formation will include a front row of at least 5 (normally arranged as 3 strikers & 2 wingers), with 2 midfielders, 2 backs, and either a ‘Defensive Centre’ (whose starting position would be at the midpoint of an imaginary cross drawn between those other four non-forwards’ positions) or a third midfielder depending on the Manager’s decision before each match.

Choose my goalscorers: Y (but the Forwards, and then the Wingers, are likeliest to fill this role...)
Godmod Scoring Events: Y

RP injuries to my players / Godmod injuries to my players / Hand out Yellow cards to my players / Hand out Red cards to my players: Y to all, at least to start with, but remember what I've written here and keep it in limits accordingly... Any serious offences by my players would probably result in injuries to your players, and causing any serious injuries to my players would probably require such obviously-deliberate attacks that your players would get yellow or even red cards as a result too. Don’t kill anybody, or inflict injuries that would be serious enough to end careers, without checking with me & getting my approval (which is unlikely to be granted…) first.

Godmod Other Events: Y, I suppose, at least as long as you do so in an AMUSING way... but please remember that Ursines are fully sapient beings, as much as Humans are, not instinct-driven animals. Oh, and of course female Ursines are not sexually interested in Humans (of either sex), and it's very unlikely that female Harr'ayanau would be either. Please don't have them run amok or outright revert to animality, without checking by TG first, don't make assumptions about their views on politics or religion, and don't do anything that would make more than one of them incapable of playing in their next game...

Kit: This incarnation of the team will normally wear the usual set of designs (from ‘ediraf’) that the Belles have favoured in the past, with the ‘Association’ badges correctly staying ‘BAAS’ rather than [the now obsolete] ‘BAMAS’. See "here" for details. However they will switch into copies of the NorthBears old violet-and-orange strip instead for Pink Cup matches.
Bears Armed has traditionally used base-8 arithmetic, for several reasons, and this has affected the set of numbers used for this team’s players: The number “22” has traditionally been left unassigned out of respect for its first [& only] wearer who died a heroine’s death during the year immediately following WC44, and now the number "10" has likewise been withdrawn from use…

Home grounds

1/. Wimbley Stadium:[/b] Located a few miles to the north-north-west of Council Groves (our capital city), to which it is connected by rail as well as by road, this stadium was built from scratch — on part of a former Confederal Army base’s site — shortly before the qualifiers for WC52 began as a replacement for the Bear-Belles original “home” at ‘Plumtrees Park’ which has now been demolished. Its current capacity is approximately 60'000 for Ursines: Fitting about 40’000 humans into the visiting fans' half should be possible, and so that's as many as we'll let into the country. Accommodation for visiting teams & their staffs will be provided in a new hotel, less than a mile away, which has staff who are accustomed to dealing with Humans as well as with Ursines. The various other hotels in that complex and those at Council Groves can now provide about 12’000 rooms at a time, at varying prices, although of course some of those may already have been booked by people who have nothing to do with the Cup. Accommodation (at a fairly basic level) for up to 15’000 supporters will be available, at reasonable prices, in students' residences for the National University’s campus in that city: if any more than all of those facilities put together can house want to attend a match then they’ll have to borrow space in the area’s remaining Army camp instead...
There are still no direct inter-regional flights into Council Groves, so that visitors will have to travel by way of one of our neighbours and then continue onwards by one of the limited number of "local" air-flights or by rail. (People planning to arrive by rail will still have to travel via the nation of Mikitivity, but extra services will be organised on that route...)
This site will be used for most, but not all, of the Belles' matches. (list to be added)

2./ ‘NorthLands National Stadium’: Located at NorthPort, the most cosmopolitan city in The Ursine Northlands, this facility was originally built for use by the 'Northbears' WC49’s qualifiers. Unfortunately the place has since seen rather less use than was originally hoped, but it is still in good condition and will hold about 43’000 Ursines or over 60’000 humans (or, of course, proportionate numbers of a mixture of those two species) because it was deliberately built to be rather larger than 'Plumtrees Park' which was then the Mainland's 'national' stadium…
This site will be used for some of the Belles’ home games (list to be added), and also for some of their friendlies & matches in other Cups during this period as specified separately.
Foreigners coming to this stadium may either travel to the ‘Mainland’ and then continue hence via a set of ancient [& probably magical] ‘Gates’ that link the country’s two sections — completing their journey by either rail or riverboat after that — or take ship directly to NorthPort.

NOTES

Ursines may tend to be a bit less agile & slower to accelerate than humans on average, but this team's members were carefully selected so the gap between them & their opponents in this respect should be narrower than some people might expect. They do tend to have [slightly] poorer eyesight than humans, on the whole (although the members of both Clan Gunnar and the Sun Clan are generally an exception to this rule, and the eyesight of the latter group is actually often at [slightly] better-than-human levels instead), so long-distance passes & shots at goal will tend to be rarer behaviour for them than they are for human teams... but their typical size & strength mean that when they're running with the ball it will probably take a very brave human — as well as a very skilled one — to tackle them successfully (or, at least, one who has reasonable experience of playing against Ursines…), which should balance that factor pretty well. They don’t jump very well, but then they’re generally rather taller than most Human players to start with so they shouldn’t need to jump as often in order to intercept [relatively] high shots...
Ursines are physically robust, of course, which means that they're much less likely than humans are to suffer injuries in falls or collisions. The females of this species are more even-tempered than the males, and the team's members will try to stay on their best behaviour not only in order to do well in this contest but also to impress upon the watching humans that Ursines aren't just "dumb beasts". They will not 'dive', or feign injury in other ways, because suggesting that they could be harmed so easily goes strongly against the grain. ‘Northlanders’ are maybe not quite as "civilised" as the 'Mainlanders'… or, at any rate, that’s the traditional stereotype..
Cold weather should pose no problem to them, even if there's snow or ice on the pitch, but tropical heat might prove awkward...

Unless our hosts at the match in question object, this team's members (including the designated substitutes for the match in question) will perform a [fairly short] ritual that's called the 'harrdiharr' on the pitch just before play begins... This is a traditional war-dance, meant to over-awe opponents, that has come to be a customary prelude for team games as well (similar to the [RL] New Zealanders' 'haka'...). : )
As has now been seen during various tournaments, some of our fans like to take drums — and possibly also 'Urrs-horns' [which are similar to Alpenhorns, cow-horns, or other "musical instruments", too — along to the matches…

The team is accompanied by a number of sapient Ravens, who are there both to gather information about the rival sides and to provide air cover in case of hostile waterfowl.
The Confrederated Clans (and other Confrederated Bodys) of the Free Bears of Bears Armed
(includes The Ursine NorthLands) Demonym = Bear[s]; adjective = ‘Urrsish’.
Population = just under 20 million. Economy = only Thriving. Average Life expectancy = c.60 years. If the nation is classified as 'Anarchy' there still is a [strictly limited] national government... and those aren't "biker gangs", they're traditional cross-Clan 'Warrior Societies', generally respected rather than feared.

Armed Bears
(alias ‘The Bear-Belles’...)

For the information of those amongst you who are fairly new to NS Sports: Yes, this is a team — and nation — consisting primarily of anthropomorphic Bears.
For the information of those amongst you who have already been around NS Sports for a while: Yes, this nation does have the same player as Bears Armed… but IC, instead of this nation being a ‘puppet’ of that other country, they are actually ‘alternative reality’ counterparts of each other and didn’t even know of each other’s existence before this tournament.
The current year in Armed Bears converts into the Gregorian calendar as 2029AD, even though for footballers from Bears Armed (whose own international debut, BoF31, was in 2008AD…), it is now 2081AD or thereabouts instead!

This is another all-female team, for the same reason that Bears Armed’s team falls into that category: The main ball-game that's traditionally been played in their homeland so far is actually a form of Rugby, but [for several reasons] the professional league for that sport is all-male and so a few years ago (in 2006AD, actually) some of the female players decided that switching to Soccer instead -- and trying to establish a professional league for that -- might be a viable alternative.

The ages & lengths of experience given here are accurate for the first half of the qualifiers, but you'll need to add 1 year for them during second half of qualifiers and another 1 year for them during either World Cup (if they get there) or Cup of Harmony if you want the correct values then.

Almost all of the players are actual Ursines (i.e. anthropomorpic, bipedal Bears), but there are also two [female] members from the Harr'aynau people -- who are physically human (more-or-less, although inclined towards heavy builds & hairyness) but spiritually & culturally Ursine instead -- as well one player from yet another non-Ursine minority.

(This is her international debut.)

Home Ground

All of the team’s ‘home’ games during this Cup’s qualifying stages will be played in the Royal Arena at Urrath-am-Barrah, the nation’s capital city, which can seat approximately 60’000 people. Up to 10’000 places will be available for visitors.
The easiest means of access to this nation will be by means of an ancient (and probably magical) set of “Gates”, whose keepers can open them to locations in the other countries concerned if those other nations are willing to accept this: Otherwise, it will require a sea-voyage to one of our neighbours and then a quite lengthy journey overland by rail or road…

RP Permisions

Opponents may _

Choose my goalscorers: Y (but when I post the roster I'll suggest the most likely candidates for this)
Godmod Scoring Events: Y

RP injuries to my players / Godmod injuries to my players / Hand out Yellow cards to my players / Hand out Red cards to my players: Y to all, at least to start with, but remember what I've written here and keep it in limits accordingly... Any serious offences by my players would probably result in injuries to your players, and causing any serious injuries to my players would probably require such obviously-deliberate attacks that your players would get yellow or even red cards as a result too.

Godmod Other Events: Y, I suppose... but please remember that Ursines are fully sapient beings, as much as Humans are (well, almost so, anyway....), NOT instinct-driven animals. Oh, and of course female Ursines are NOT sexually interested in Humans (of either sex), and it's very unlikely that female Harr'ayanau would be either.

_____________________________________________________________________

Notes
Ursines may tend to be a bit less agile & slower to accelerate than humans on average, but this team's members were carefully selected so the gap between them & their opponents in this respect should be narrower than some people might expect. They do tend to have slightly poorer eyesight than humans, on the whole, so that long-distance passes & shots at goal will be rarer behaviour for them than they are for human teams... but their size & strength mean that when they're running with the ball it will probably take a very brave human -- as well as a very skilled one -- to tackle them successfully, which should balance that factor pretty well.
They're physically robust, of course, which means that they're less likely than humans to suffer injuries in falls or collisions but also that the form of Rugby in which most of them played before switching to Soccer was even more physical than the humans' versions of that game... and unfortunately some of them might forget the change of rules, in the excitement of the match, and use those tactics here...
Forgetting that they're playing Soccer now, rather than 'Ursine-Rules' Rugby, will actually be the most likely reason for any rule-breaking that they might commit, but they're generally bright enough not to make such a mistake more than once per match per player (and after one of them has been penalised for doing so in any particular way it's fairly unlikely that any others would repeat the exact same mistake...). The females of this species are mote even-tempered than the males, and the team's members will try to stay on their best behaviour not only in order to do well in this contest (which they probably need to do in order for their planned Soccer league to become a reality) but also to impress upon the watching humans that Ursines aren't just “dumb beast”. They will not 'dive', or feign injury in other ways, because suggesting that they could be harmed so easily goes strongly against the grain.

If the organisers permit then the team's members, including subsititutes, will do a [short] traditional war-dance (similar to the [RL] New Zealanders' 'haka'...), on the pitch, just before each match begins: This is called the 'Harrdiharr'... ;-)

New Roster, Same Goal

After Milchama won its first major international tournament in a very very long time with a miraculous, incredible, brilliant, unbelievable, WBC 23 victory the football team has to try to pick up the pieces. While always the second most popular team (and the second most successful) the Warriors are still hoping for better results. That said, there is still only one goal for this team, qualify for the World Cup. It is also a new goal as well as this team is the next generation of Milchamian football. After the last generation became the most successful generation of Milchamian footballers since the mid-40s of World Cup football this next one is looking to outdo their greatness and become mega-successful. Of course the Warriors still cannot do that without qualifying for the World Cup and keeping their hold, (ever so tenuously) on a Top-32 place. As new manager Martin Kent said, "This is our time, and we need to win." So let's do it! Come on You Warriors!
