In my opinion, Spitfyred and Spitfyred1 are separate nations. Spitfyred CTE'd and became disqualified from the competition. Since Spitfyred1 never actually signed up in the thread, they couldn't be considered to have joined the competition. Again, that's your decision.

Host's decision. I allowed Spitfyred1 in to replace Spitfyred in the WLC because there were 23 sign ups at the time.

Final decision rests with the host, naturally, and I'm just new to the community, but here's my two cents:

They're seperate nations, so Spitfyred1 has never joined the competition (and shouldn't be allowed to enter), but, if the TG came before the closing date, that should be considered as his entry, and so should be allowed in.
My nation's name, in English, is Moresnet. Moresnetujo is an Esperanto word.

Sorry for this seemingly-innane, and probably very obvious question - I haven't been around much lately and just noticed that signups were now closed. When is WC54 set to begin?

Hosts' decision but I do believe that they had indicated sometime after the new year...

hey, I'm allowed to do that, aren't I? deferringjudgmentandresponsibilitywhilestatinganopinionftw!

EDIT: just to state one little tiny fact - we can't start the WCQ until after the BoF has finished...

I can restore you to the list, no problem. I understood "Changed my mind" differently, and figured you weren't going in after all. Since you've clarified, I'm happy to have you in.

With the similarity in the name, it could be said that Spitfyred1 is not a separate nation but merely Spitfyred following a renaming, in roleplay terms.

This thread explains the Spitfyred situation.

Hosts call of course, but I'd suggest that TBI/Cass knock heads with QPeMA/Nethers and make sure their respective ducks are in a row on the matter.

Thank you for the link! Cassadaigua has run with this and TGed QPeMA.

Spitfyred has ceased to exist due to moderator action. Spitfyred1 was not an entrant at the time of closing. Therefore, Spitfyred is not an entrant in World Cup 54 under either identity. Lists are being updated.

I didn't sign up Capivara Group for the BoF because I thought it'd go in by default, being a newbie nation. :palm:

Guess I'll have to wait until the WC proper to do some juicy rpings.

Open Invitation to Assorted Mayhem

Hey you
! Yes you there!

It's World Cup time, which means I am getting ready to have a lot of fun RPing everything from football to the utterly bizarre. If you would also like to RP things of varying degrees of bizarreness but need or want a plotline jump-started, please let me know by telegram or other means.

In case you didn't know, Aguazul are in the world's top sixty for stupidity. We are led by a varying succession of totalitarian dictators ready to declare war at the drop of a hat, but are too incompetent to really conquer the world, so we can unleash relatively harmless levels of havoc if need be. Moreover, our media are completely government-controlled and not very committed to actual truth, so we can gladly start any rumors that need to be started, no matter how factual.

If militaristic dictatorship isn't your thing, however, we probably have some subversive elements from all over the place. Basically, if there's any sort of RP that I can help you with (whether you have specific ideas in mind, or just want somebody else to throw ideas around to break through writer's block or whatever), please let me know--I'm here to have fun and I hope you all are too.

And I promise not to set any of your national league's stadia permanently on fire without express written consent of the commissioner's office.

(and though planned for some time, in a similar spirit to Aguazul's post...)

The Holy Empire Football Association will be announcing a "choose the squad" competition for WC54.

With the team sliding down through the rankings, the previous squad vanishing into three separate realities/timestreams, and the assistant coach temporarily marooned in Starblaydia's medieval past, HEFA needs help.

All participants in WC54 - not just the nations in the same qualifying group - will be invited to come up with ideas for the Holy Empire's WC54 squad. Every idea received before and during qualification will be worked into AIF RP (though if I receive more ideas than there are matches, I'll work on a first come / first served basis, with the remaining ideas mentioned in RP, but not necessarily as the matchday squad).

The best / most workable squad idea - on the purely subjective basis of the one I like the best - will then (assuming the Empire qualifies) be the Holy Empire's World Cup Finals squad.

Creativity is encouraged.

A formal IC announcement will appear in the WC54 RP thread once it's up and running.

I'll accept both TG'd ideas and ideas posted in the RP thread; please TG ideas to AIF, not to the Archregimancy.

Any news on when rankings will come out? D&S wants to work up an RP based on being the worst ranked defending champion ever. She is sick right now and has plenty of time to come up with ideas - all of which are intended to remind me I dont have a championship yet  But anyway...

That depends on the Baptism of Fire, which should have had its group draw by now. Although given the preliminary schedule in the set-up, I'd say Jan 20th.

I remind everyone ever-present to get things started that we're the midst of a great vacation period, when people who do things iRL run away from them for about two weeks to escape in some tropical paradise or (more likely) a frigid wasteland, soaking in the sunlight or (more likely) languishing behind cold closed doors. Anyway, for some of these people, NS is on the back pedal, so I would realistically put the start of the World Cup until the middle of January (which my earliest expected range... RL may push this back until February pending other activities...). As for the ranks, I'm not the person who normally updates them, but I'm pretty sure that anyone with half-a-brain would wait until after the BoF to get things updated because that would mean running through the ranks updates twice (of course, anyone with no brain would constantly update them every minute and we'd always have up-to-date ranks no matter the season).

Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got two/three weeks to plan my WC squad...
