1095 Tynealan Unification League

The Tynealan Unification League is the top level of rugby union competition in the Celtic Union of Tyneala (ie: Aels and Ancharmunn). As the only four professional rugby union clubs in Ancharmunn the provincial sides of Dyary, Machairster and Slievester along with the side representing the capital city Ballyfeeaknock will remain constants in the league. The two lowest placed Aelsh sides however are relegated to the Aelsh Rugby Union Premier League. At the top end of the table the top three clubs qualify for the championship playoffs, with the first placed team qualifying directly for the final and having home advantage for that match. The second placed team hosts the third placed team in the semi-final with the winner progressing to the final.

SELEFIBANK PREMIERSHIP SEASON ONE

After the Javahes's performance at the Rugby World Cup, the Javahe Islands Rugby Union decided to institute a national league system. The JIRU sought out any teams that the national team's players played on and included them in the league. The Premiership is semi-professional and there is no promotion or relegation between it and the lower leagues. The standings after each team plays every other team twice are the final standings. These are the first season's results:

Selefibank Premiership Pld W D L PF PA PD Pts
1 Iikihe Finches Rugby 22 15 2 5 377 268 +109 47

3 Tapihem Expats 22 14 2 6 355 250 +105 44

Entrance to the ninth RUCT Seasogs Championship did indeed close at Midday today BST, and I will be scorinating and formatting it all now.

A few notes, first. Two leagues submitted non-scorinated results to this edition. Saugeais' submission was accepted, as the previous season was scorinated, but the next edition's submissions will need to be scorinated. Murray's Land's submissions were rejected as there was no submission at all from the previous season.

A few notes on procedure:
With 52 teams submitted from thirteen leagues, a single qualifying round was required. In the light of Saugeais' lack of scorination, reigning champions Montbenoit were awarded a bye to the Group Stage instead of their league champions Bugny Barbarians, along with the winners of the other eleven leagues that submitted teams last season. With twelve teams awarded byes, that left forty to play a single knockout qualifying round, which was randomly drawn with no team from the same league allowed to play another. The twenty winners of this round then joined the twelve byes in the group stage. For the Group Stage, teams were seeded by rank, and then randomly drawn, with no two teams from the same league permitted in the same group.

The draw for the Round of Sixteen was drawn randomly so every runner-up played a group winner, with no two teams from the same league permitted to play each other. The remaining rounds were drawn randomly.

Final
Amzterdam Bears 30–32 Drattenburg Wasps

Three tries from centre Aleksander Kottle lead the Wasps to the title, and the valiant defence of the side managed to hold off a late Amzterdam surge.

Congratulations to the Drattenburg Wasps for winning the DRL.

I'd also like to announce a International Rugby League Challenge Trophy, an international competition for Rugby League teams. However, as I want to keep it small, TWO teams from each association may enter. If there is substantial interest, then it will be cut down to 1.

I'm not much of a league man but I don't see why not. Give me a minute.

EDIT:

As of this post the qualifiers for the International Rugby League Challenge Trophy (if it happens) are:
Southern Force

The nation of Aels has a three-tier professional rugby union system, currently made up of 22 teams. There are six Aelsh teams in the top tier and eight teams in each other tier, although only tiers two and three — the ARU ChocoMilk Premier League and the ARU First League — are fully sanctioned by the Aels Rugby Union. The top flight, which also features four teams from Ancharmunn, is the Tynealan Unification League, and co-sanctioned by the Charmunnry union.

The top two teams in the Premier League are promoted to the Tynealan joint league, while the bottom two are relegated to the First League. Four points are awarded for a win and two for a draw, with one bonus point awarded for every match lost by 7 points or less. However, bonus points are not added to the final points total, and are only used in tiebreaking situations. Teams play each other three times. Ties are broken by head-to-head results (including points difference), followed by the number of bonus points, then overall points difference.

Results from the 1095 season (Tynealan calendar):

ChocoMilk Premier League Pld W D L PF PA PD Pts

Federal Rugby Union V (complete!)

Postby Free South Califas » Tue Oct 30, 2012 12:40 am

The fifth campaign of the Federal Rugby Union has now been completed. A champion has been crowned, RUCT entries have been determined, and one of the 10 sides has been eliminated for FRU VI, though they will contest the San Diego Shield next year for a shot at re-entry. Similarly, San Bernardino County had a chance at re-entry with special double-elimination status in this year's Shield.

How can the teams that finished first and second the previous season finish this one in 12th and last respectively?
Who knows - but that's exactly what happened...

Code: Select all
Pos  Team                       P   W   D   L   PF   PA   PD  Pts
   1  Moorcroft                 30  22   0   8  674  525  149   44
   2  St. Martin Bees           30  18   0  12  583  490   93   36
   3  Snaith Marlins            30  17   2  11  498  416   82   36
   4  Stanley Park              30  17   1  12  490  472   18   35
   5  Buckby                    30  16   0  14  587  547   40   32
   6  Kershaw Chieftains        30  16   0  14  496  485   11   32
   7  Oakley                    30  15   1  14  543  577  -34   31
   8  Darrington                30  15   0  15  525  497   28   30
   9  Flockton Flavell          30  14   2  14  482  475    7   30
  10  Currie Celtic             30  14   1  15  532  523    9   29
  11  Mort Park                 30  14   0  16  619  645  -26   28
  12  Clwb Rygbi Caernewydd     30  13   1  16  579  564   15   27
  13  Bradley and Elwell        30  13   1  16  632  697  -65   27
  14  Redwood                   30  12   0  18  510  547  -37   24
  15  Eardley                   30  11   0  19  429  514  -85   22
  16  Rothwell Trinity          30   8   1  21  442  647 -205   17

So the four global qualifiers are Moorcroft, St. Martin Bees, Snaith Marlins and Stanley Park.

Edit: Just realised this thread covers both codes.....if you didn't know already, it'a Rugby Union competition. I may resurrect the League one sometime...
