Gordonopian National Team
World Cup 61

Starting Eleven

Formation
4-3-1-2

------------------Tobias-------Keller----------------------
---------------------------Bates----------------------------
-------J. Stahl-----------Roger------------Franz----------
-------Steiner-------Cole------Paige------M. Stahl-------
-------------------------Schmidt----------------------------

Derrick Schmidt
With the retirement of Ludwig Strauss, the next goalie for the Gordonopian National Team would have huge shoes to fill. Following an intense training camp, the most likely successor has turned out to be Derrick Schmidt, who earned two caps as a substitute during the most recent world cup cycle. Schmidt first demonstrated his talents three years ago during the inaugural season of the GPL, where he was the leading factor in Fusba United making the Gordonopia Cup despite both a weak offense and midfield. Following that year, he signed with Cosmopolitan of Cotdelapoms, where he has been since. Although he may not have the experience or raw talent of his predecessor, Schmidt's skills at facing off against breakthroughs and one-on-one situations can't be denied.
GK - 33 - Club: Cosmopolitan, Cotdelapoms - 2 Caps - 0 Goals

Roger Steiner - Vice-Captain
A veteran defender proven in FC Deska's legendary defensive style, Roger Steiner is perhaps the best back currently in the GPL. As the anchor of and the most experienced player on the National Team's defensive line, Steiner has proven that he deserves his vice-captain spot. In addition to his ability to break up plays, Steiner is very skilled at tackling as well as marking, and his talents will likely be very important to the success of the team.
LB - 28 - Club: FC Deska, United Gordonopia - 16 Caps - 1 Goals

Fritz Cole
A rising star out of Willingham AC, Fritz Cole initially earned his spot on the starting eleven after a stellar performance in the final three matches of qualification for World Cup 60. Following that, Cole was elevated to the Starting 11 roster in the Cup of Harmony, where he showed himself to be one of the stronger members of the squad. In club play, Cole has become one of the faces of Willingham AC, which has been the most successful team promoted since the league began. His skills mostly lie in counters and tackling, but he has a diverse range of talents on the defensive end.
CB - 24 - Club: Willingham AC, United Gordonopia - 6 Caps - 0 Goals

Matty Paige
Signed to Ittuributa United after a stellar 2012 GPL season with the Kjeldor Knights, Matty Paige is perhaps the best young Gordonopian in the game today. Named one of the Ittuributan league's best young players, as well as a member of the team of the season, Paige has found much success abroad. On top of his agility, which has allowed him to keep up with breakaways, Paige has also demonstrated the rare defensive talent of being able to score should he be needed.
CB - 22 - Club: Iturributa United, Iturributa - 0 Caps - 0 Goals

Michael Stahl
Michael Stahl is a stellar defender and native of Deska, as well as a FC Deska man. With four caps on the national team as a reserve during World Cup qualification and Cup of Harmony 52, as well as two seasons as a starting centre-back for FC Deska before signing to Freedom's Altar Holy Templars of Yesopalitha, Stahl has shown himself to be adept as preventing chances before they even materialize. Generally level-headed, Stahl is rarely forced to resort to fouls in order to stop a play. He has had troubles in the past when working with a teammate on a double-team, but outside of that, Stahl is an ideal defender for the National Team.
RB - 27 - Club: Tarahal Lake Athletic, Yesopalitha - 4 Caps - 0 Goals

James Stahl
Distantly related to his former Deska teammate, James Stahl is a strong defender, though perhaps the weakest link on the team's defense. With most of his experience, outside of his impressive club performance, coming from three caps as a sub at the most recent Cup of Harmony, Stahl has yet to be tested against international players. Nevertheless, his physical defensive style brings some needed muscle to the team's lineup, and although he may end up bringing in some cards, his presence is still necessary.
LDM - 22 - Club: FC Deska, United Gordonopia - 3 Caps - 0 Goals

Davis Roger
A powerful, young defensive midfielder, Davis Roger earned his spot on the national team through his superb stamina and technical skills, as well as his solid performance during the team's qualification attempt. His greatest strength remains his ability to intercept passes, a statistic in which he led the GPL for two years running, and which he put to good use in games such as the national team's 2-0 upset of 6th ranked Valanora. Though a last minute injury kept him out of the Cup of Harmony, Roger seems to be back up to his former level, and was recently signed to the New Hazingafar Knights of Yesopalitha.
CDM - 22 - Club: New Hazingafar Knights, Yesopalitha - 14 Caps - 0 Goals

Lane Franz
The third FC Deska player on the starting lineup, Lane Franz is viewed domestically as the third point, along with his fellow national teammates Steiner and Stahl, in a deadly triangle that has helped proliferate Deska's defensive might in Gordonopia beyond the Strauss-era. Working as a highly efficient screen, Franz has managed to shut down numerous breakaways before they even begin. Supported by the rest of the national teams' defense, and backed up by both Steiner and Stahl, Franz completes a defense that is perhaps stronger than the one Gordonopia fielded in its last world cup cycle.
RDM - 27 - Club: FC Deska, United Gordonopia - 14 Caps - 1 Goals

Norm Bates - Captain
The captain of the National Team, Bate's experience and talent makes him just as much a celebrity in Gordonopia as his numerous romantic exploits that range from athletes to nobles. One of only two players remaining from the West Tolten that won the City of Steel's last Gordonopia Cup during the Republican era, Bates is now one of of the 'elder statesmen' of the Gordonopian game. The 'elder', though, should be taken with a grain of salt, as in his last season Bates won the league Golden Boot with the all-time record in assists on top of his impressive goal count.
AM - 33 - Club: West Tolten, United Gordonopia - 17 Caps - 3 Goals

Jere Tobias
The only player on the Starting 11 to be capped in every Imperial era match, Jere Tobias has established himself as an essential part of the team's offense. After winning the golden boot in 2012, Tobias transferred first to Juvillian Martinax of Erathore, before transferring to his current club, Paramus FC of Vielha. With his ability to both score, and recognize when someone else has a better chance, Tobias has a lot to back up his position on the team.
ST - 25 - Club: Paramus FC, Vielha - 17 Caps - 5 Goals

Vonn Keller
Jere Tobias' successor on the powerhouse Kaje Football squad, Vonn Keller is a striker who works stunningly with other players. At home, that player is AM Roman Galoslon. In his only national team cap, and hopefully during the World Cup, that player is captain Norm Bates. Keller's incredible speed, and his ability to avoid the offsides trap, makes him an ideal candidate for forward striker.
ST - 25 - Club: Kaje Football, United Gordonopia - 1 Caps - 2 Goals

Reserves
Jeffery Street - GK - 28 - Club: MS Leighton, Queer Poco el Mono Ara - 1 Caps - 0 Goals
Jonathon Hughes - GK - 24 - Club: Union Holiday, United Gordonopia - 0 Caps - 0 Goals
John Bates - B - 24 - Club: New Capetown Falcons, Taeshan - 12 Caps - 0 Goals
Hugh Lawson - B -26 - Club: Fusba United, United Gordonopia - 17 Caps - 0 Goals
Howard Deer - B - 20 - Club: Reichsburg FC, United Gordonopia - 0 Caps - 0 Goals
Zachary Johnston - DM - 21 - Club: Basin Plain, United Gordonopia - 0 Caps - 0 Goals
Vonn Mjan - DM - 32 - Club: Gordonopia FC, United Gordonopia - 4 Caps - 0 Goals
Deonte van Tonder - DM - 19 - Club: Kjeldor Knights, United Gordonopia - 0 Caps - 0 Goals
Jeff Draper - AM -26 - Club: Gordonopia FC, United Gordonopia - 0 Caps - 0 Goals
Jonathon Odell - ST - 28 - Club: Montbenoit, Saugeais - 16 Caps - 5 Goals
Gordon Brink - ST - 27 - Club: Latimere United, United Gordonopia - 1 Caps - 1 Goals
Dominique Mann - ST - 22 - Club: Skyte City, Queer Poco el Mono Ara - 4 Caps - 1 Goals

Who the Hell are Audioslavia?
Audioslavia are an ancient nation that has been around the football scene for centuries. Audioslavia participated in World Cups 4 to 29, made an abortive comeback in World Cup 37 and, as puppet Silexhera, entered World Cups 46 to 49. The have entered every cup since WC59.

Audioslavia are former champions of the Baptism of Fire, AOCAF and U21 World Cup. They have reached the final of the World Cup on four occasions (losing every time) and the semi-finals of the Cup of Harmony.

Ten Things Audioslavia's football team are famous for:
1: The claret and green striped kits, complete with white pinstripe. They have been like this, with the odd exception, since World Cup 4.
2: Jeremy Jaffacake. The indescribable Jaffacake has been a satellite of the national team - both as sports journalist and member of the FFA - since World Cup 6. It is unwise to cross Jeremy Jaffacake. In fact, it's often unwise to even look at him.
3: Choking in major finals. Audioslavia are the record holders for losing the most amount of World Cup finals, in WCs 12, 19, 20 and 29. We've also lost a few minor-tournament finals.
4: Being almost unbeatable in semi-finals. Audioslavia's senior side have a scary 8-1 record in major semi-finals.
5: Off pitch entertainment: A fervent, yet well-behaved support. Audioslavia's fans are generally friendly, enjoy mixing with the locals and are partial to the odd litre of whisky, not to mention the tabloid antics of one Jeremy Jaffacake.
6: On-pitch anti-entertainment. The Audioslavian national team have always played effective, if uninspiring football, prefering to play solidly and wear opponents down than do anything too risky or spectacular.
7: Building rivalries: Audioslavia count, and have counted, a lot of nations as their 'rivals'. They are, in order of healthiest to most hated: Lemmitania, Karditan, New Montreal States, Halfassedstates, Iansisle, Vilita/Turori, Bedistan, Squornshelous, Rejistania, Total n Utter Insanity, Krytenia U19s, Krytenia U21s, Krytenia 'C'. Krytenia 'B', Them. (Notable exceptions: Starblaydia ('the enemy of mine enemy is a team we've never played very often'), Armed Bears/Bears Armed ('caused Silexhera and Audioslavia all sorts of problems in the past, but are too cute to be hated'), Dorian and Sonya ('you can't hate someone you pretty much have the measure of, and we know for a fact they're about five foot two'), Liverpool England ('good Audioslavian teams have beaten bad LivEng/Liventian teams. Good Liv teams have beaten bad Audioslavia teams. We've played each other plenty of times, but never with too much needle'.))
8: Audioslavia have had, throughout their history, a disproportionate amount of wingers with names beginning with 'J'.
9: Audioslavia are the first and only team to have been eliminated from the group stage of a World Cup on penalties.
10: Words. And lots of them.

Audioslavian footballers tend to be a little on the small side compared to modern NS athletes. The average height for a goalkeeper or a defender is around 6'0, 5'7 for a full-back, 5'10 for a midfielder and 5'9 for a striker (although the 'target-man' style strikers tend to be nearer 6'0). All of Audioslavia's players, throughout history, have been human and male. Our players tend to be fairly quick with a lot of stamina and physical fitness. Our passing, positional play and general technique is fairly poor, although this is often counter-balanced by the input of foreign managers and/or nationalised foreign footballers. Are goals usually come near the end of games as our high stamina wins through.

Best player:
Gondakka Ndella: He's really old, but he's always a bit better than he used to be an year ago, the 7 times winner of the Dandish Player of the year award couldn't miss Dandillis' first WC, by any means. He's a lethal header and a lethal poacher. He's slow, despite he used to be one of the faste players on the team back when he was 27....

Formation: 4-1-4-1

Style Modifier: -4.0 (losing Ichi Tuzzio to Farfadillis has affected the team's style, decreasing it by 2.0, making it even more defensive)

The Legalese Federation of Association Football presents...

The World Cup Qualifying Roster!

A few notes:
-All starters are listed in the 1-11, however it will not be a major faux pas to utilize a reserve, if one were to wish.
-The team's style modifier is a mostly aggressive +4
-RP Permissions: As has become customary for Legalese, My opponent, should they RP first, shall have any and all permissions for which they provide to their opponents (should they RP first). Should one offer all permissions to their opponent, they shall have all permissions when dealing with my side; should they offer few to none, the same goes when dealing with me. Should my opponent somehow RP first but not have a roster posted, they shall not be permitted a damn thing.

And now, for the squad:

(The Usual) Starters:
GK: 1 – Stan Thate, 30, Rhinos. Thate remains in the Legalese net, in part due to the performance of his only real challenger, Bobby Johnson, in AOCAF 36. Thate, while the long-time starter for his domestic club, seems to remain the international starter more on inertia than anything – not bad enough to get yanked, but not good enough to warrant his place. Nonetheless, he stays in the net for his fourth Cup campaign, and third as the starter.
D: 2 – Joe Ellsworth, 25, The Knights of Tiberia. Ellsworth has fifteen starts and seventeen appearances to his name, but only five in World Cup play. Passed over for the AOCAF, his work in training has helped Joe return to the lineup.
D: 3 - Liam Todd, 25, Argyle Warriors. Todd made his first start for the national team during the World Cup 60 qualifying campaign, scoring twice. After proving himself during the AOCAF (even with the early exit), he’ll be the team’s defensive anchor during qualifying.
D: 4 – Phil Livingston, 28, Cragland Climbers. Among the most senior members of the side (26 appearances – all in World Cup/Cup of Harmony matches), Phil’s career appeared to be over, with rumors that he would retire from international play. However, they’ve proven to be greatly exaggerated, as Livingston has returned. His number change (previously #2) was of his own request, commenting that he’s “now twice the defender I was when you gave it to me”.
DM: 5 - Sam Washington, 25, Bob's Towing. Sam is known for his ability to play back as a fourth defender if necessary, but will generally press forward. At a young age, Sam is still heavy on international experience, with two full cup campaigns and three AOCAFs played.
M: 6 – Jack Wayne, 23, Brecorn City. Jack, previously a reserve during WC60, made the most of his trial appearance in the starting lineup during the AOCAF, credited with an assist during the opener vs. Bazalonia. He will add to the three caps earned during the regional tournament.
M: 7 - Monte Kelshimer, 24, Tiberian City. Monte, now at twenty-five caps for the National Team, is a bit of a youngster to the side, having only the previous cup cycle of experience.
M: 8 - Archie Sanroman, 31, Draig Goch FC. The Captain returns. At 31 years old and with 34 caps, Archie has the most international appearances for any Legalite. This is his second cycle as team captain as well – the only change for him being domestically, as he made a move north, leaving behind his long-time domestic club, Ellentown.
F: 9 - Garry Maharry, 25, Bob's Towing. Garry started the last cycle as a reserve, only to find himself in the lineup as a withdrawn forward – initially replacing his club teammate, Jimmy Jay, in that role. He now has seveneen starts and eighteen appearances internationally.
F: 10 - Jimmy Jay, 24, Bob's Towing. Jay has a history of being hot and cold; he electrified in AOCAF 34, scoring ten goals in five matches, then scored another four goals in qualifying; flash forward to the next AOCAF, and Jay finds himself benched mid-way through. He came back on in qualifying, initially as a withdrawn forward, but scored six goals since moving up top with Bassford. He’ll need to match that success this time, if Legalese is to have any shot of advancing.

F: 11 - Kelvin Bassford, 25, Unattached. Kelvin is Legalese's first true international star - a heck of a feat, for a country closer to it's tricentennial than its bicentennial. With two World Cup cycles and two AOCAF tournaments (non-consecutive) to his name, he's scored 22 international goals. The shades only come off when on the pitch.

Reserves:
12 - Roy Whitcraft, 25, Ostia Ostriches.(D) Roy had his chance in the lineup during the AOCAF, but a sending-off helped seal his return to the bench.
13 – Kenny Stroud, 17, Unassigned (from Tyrellia, Karin Islands) (D)
15 – Lane Wilson, 18, LC Capitals. Wilson, a native of Binchensburg, became the youngest player in National Team history in the AOCAF 36 opener – only to be unseated two matches later. His performance not only led to a return as a reserve for the cycle, but also led to his acquisition by the LC Capitals.
16 – Xavier Boyle, 20, Bob’s Towing (F)
17 - Fred Rutledge, 23, Francis City (F)
18 - Dwight Marcus, 19, Rhinos (D)
19 – Ty Henderson, 18, Unassigned (From Sagdineo, Mainland) (M)
20 – Titus Armistead, 18, The Knights of Tiberia (M)
21 – Sherwood Hendry, 21, Ellentown Exempts (M)
22 – Tarquin Waldrop, 18, Myre Town (GK)

Staff:
Manager - Gabe Cushing - this becomes Cushing's third World Cup cycle as manager, retaking the reins after a planned hiatus during the 36th AOCAF. Known for an aggressive style of play, Gabe is expected to stick with this team until it qualifies or kills him. It is debatable as to which one will happen first.
Assistants: Hamish McKinley and Mark Barbour. McKinley took over as manager for the 36th AOCAF, and returns despite some disappointment in the team's 1-1-1 crash-out. Barbour, who assisted McKinley during the AOCAF, also remains.

Oh, and the Kits - redesigned again after the AOCAF by Gamma Apparel:

"The Cannons"

Formation: 3-4-3

Cup qualification at their first attempt, so she grew up in a strongly football-oriented background, and she’s also got

experience as a deputy manager of the Belles (under Marra SunDaughter, not under her own father) under her belt…

Mashiki's World Cup LXI Roster

After a disappointing Baptism of Fire campaign, Mashiki now looks on to the upcoming world cup in Valanora and Andossa se Mitrin Vega. The manager of the National Team throughout the BoF, Signa Twaqulu, has had his contract terminated. The MNFA (Mashiki National Football Association believes that it was the manager and not the player's fault that they lost. He has stuck to managing the Mashiki Swamp Soccer Team. The new manager is 27-year old prodigy Maha Bubuneski. Fresh from U-11 Sunday Football, he brought his team a record seven titles in a row. The MNFA have given him this tournament to perform. To whom it may concern,

Overleaf, you will find the Tractian roster for the 61st World Cup Qualification Stage. Please take into account the various nuances of Urbis Tractus when studying this.

Thank you for your time,

Professor Ted Smith
Tractian National Team Manager/Controller
Professor of Robotics at the University of Montfort, Licentiapacisterra

Urbis Tractus National Football Team

Manager/Controller – Professor Ted Smith
Formation – 4-4-2
Nickname – The Bots

Starting XI

GK – Osprey
LB – Baza
CB – Kite
CB – Buzzard
RB – Eagle
LM – Vulture
CM – Bateleur
CM – Harrier
RM – Goshawk
ST – Hawk
ST – Lammergeier

So, here come the nuances of this nation.

Firstly, as you may have guessed from the nation name, or if you’ve read through BoF RPs, Urbis Tractus is a moving city. As such, the city, its people, and the football team will be moving through the nations that they face for the qualification stages, and will stay in the host nation for any following tournament they qualify for. You can choose to mention this in your RPs or not.

Secondly, the team is a group of robots, all controlled by the manager/controller. This team has a working life of 20 years, which means these lot, all named after birds of prey, will be representing Urbis Tractus for quite a while. It also means that injury wise, you aren’t likely to injure them, but they are likely to injure you. Their claws will obviously be retracted for the matches, and they won’t be able to attack players with them, as they are controlled by the Prof.

Thirdly, though the manager/controller is a university professor, most people from Urbis Tractus are rude, thuggish, have heavy accents, and swear like troopers. As such, when Tractians speak in RPs, nation names will likely be spelled as they would be said, and there will be a lot of abbreviations and cursing.

I hope this will present an interesting challenge for people in my group, as it has for me when preparing the backstory and RPs for this nation. :)

Godmod scoring events? Y, I could hardly say no, could I ?? :P

WESTERN CUBAN NATIONAL SOCCER TEAM
World Cup 61

Image

Information:
Rank: 66
Formation: 4-3-3
Style Modifier: +1

Coaching Staff:

Manager: Anatoly Markin: The seat grows hotter for Markin. After an early exit from the Copa Rushmori, Markin will need to qualify this World Cup. If he doesn't, well that will most likely mean what happened to the former coach Marquez. He will get canned.

Assistant Manager: Esteban Reyes: Esteban Reyes still has not accepted an offer at any club team. Which surprises many of us, who thought he would be off the team after the last World Cup. Is he hoping to get the job as manager possibly? I doubt it, as Markin and Reyes are really good friends. You never know though, getting the job as manager would be much better than being one for a lower club.

Starting 11:

#1, Goalkeeper, Armando Santos: It happened, Hector Diaz left for greener pastures and has retired from international play. Now the only chance you'll get to see him play is with Winding Street, the Civil Citizenry club who he is signed with. Hector has announced that he'll like to return to Western Cuba once the new league is announced though. So possibly you'll get to see Hector back in Western Cuba before he retires from soccer completely.

#5, Fullback, Shin Denisov: "El Demonio" might have a new nickname if he continues to improve on and off the field. Just like Alberto Perez, Shin may be finally getting it. Him and Sanchez though form the weaker side of the defense and must improve in qualifying if Western Cuba wants to advance./i]
T
#8, Center back, Esteban Sanchez: [i]Sanchez improved play during the Copa after his bad performance in the Cup of Harmony. Though the defense is still weak on his side and he must improve in order for Western Cuba to qualify for the actual World Cup.

#3, Center back, Gabriel Ruiz: Ruiz is stepping up everyday he is in a national uniform. Being one of the youngest players has not stopped Ruiz from being one of the best. With the captain of the defense, Maximino Martinez having ankle problems, Ruiz can soon become the best player on this defense.

#11, Fullback, Maximino Martinez: Once again ankle problems prevented Martinez from being effective in the Copa Rushmori. If he continues to have ankle problems, Martinez may lose his spot on the national team.

#22, Center Midfielder, Alberto Perez El Recuperador has stepped up to rival Goyo Soto as one of the best midfielders in Western Cuba. I'm really excited to see how Perez will play this World Cup. It's his chance to shine this World Cup, if he does multiple teams will become attracted to him.

#18, Central Midfielder, Goyo Soto I'm still surprised, Adrian Soto is yet still in power, and Goyo Soto disappointed again. This time in the Copa Rushmori. Soto will have to play very well during the qualification stage, or Alberto Perez will take over as the best mid-fielder on the team.

#10, Central Midfielder, Vincent De Santa Cayo Vargas, one of the most influential players in Western Cuban soccer history has officially retired from international play. Just like Hector though, Vargas will remain playing club soccer. Vargas is currently with Darmen City United but has voiced that he may return to the WCSL. Now Vincent De Santa will take over the reigns of Vargas. De Santa was the captain of the U-18 team and has just turned eighteen last week. De Santa has a bright future and will be a vital part of Western Cuba qualifying for the group stages.

#19, Winger, Ricardo Calderón Ricardo is yet another bright young player on the national team. Ricardo played a great support role for Edgardo Mendoza during the Copa Rushmori, and will hopefully continue to do so in World Cup qualifying.

#11, Center Forward, Edgardo Mendoza So far Mendoza's career must be frustrating, well at least on the international stage. Playing for Scott City FC has not been a problem for Mendoza, his international career has always been short in goals. Only capturing a title in one major tournament, a Copa Rushmori. Mendoza has not even qualified for the group stages in the World Cup yet, in fact no Western Cuban team has ever done so. This World Cup may be Mendoza's last chance, Mendoza is nearing the end of his prime. Some day he will have to retire like Edgardo Mendoza. While I respect that Mendoza has remained humble so far throughout his international career, he may have to wake his team mates up.

#21, Winger, Tito Moreno Tito Moreno has grown playing for Pays de Croix, who placed a respectable sixth place in there regular season. Unlike Mendoza, Moreno may now be entering the prime of his career and many opportunities will exist for him. I'll be interesting to watch him during the qualifying process.

Dominion of the Scandinavian Islands Football Association
Men's National Team
Squad Nickname: The Hounds
Governing Committee: Dominion of the Scandinavian Islands Football Association (DSIFA)
National League: DSIFA Dominion League (Top Tier: The A Division)
Demonym: Scandinavian Islander

Manager Oliver Eilberg – Age 47 – Wesholm City
Eilberg is a big name coach for a big name side, as far as TSI goes. Eilberg’s tactics are probably the most defensive of any other Scandinavian Islander team, he released only a week ago his plan to use a 1-3-3-1-2 formation, using a sweeper, a defensive line, wingers, and an attacking midfielder. Some people have criticized the obscurity of this formation, and have even called for DSIFA to force Eilberg to change the formation to something more well-known and predictable. Eilberg defended his decisions, saying, it worked in scrimmages, it’ll work in the Baptism of Fire.

Eilberg is a gentleman’s gentleman. He is married, with two children, both attending prestigious private schools in the Wesholm area. Eilberg is almost never in public not wearing something other than a suit. Eilberg is the kind of coach you also don’t want to mess with, because, well, you will get sold quicker than you can say “start me.” He is always standing up and on the sideline pointing and yelling directions, that unless you have known the guy for a while, you probably won’t understand them.

COMPLETE ROSTER

GK 30 Nicklas Eriksson – Age 29 – F.C. Wesholm
Nicklas Eriksson is a very influential figure in Scandinavian Islander football, he is probably TSI’s best keeper ever, which is hard to say, seeing as the DSIFA has existed for only months. Eriksson has very soft hands, and could catch a missile if he wanted to. He also has really quick reflexes, but isn’t as easily fooled as Olestrum. Eriksson, overall, is judged to be a very good person, and an elite keeper.

GK 05 Alexander Olestrum – Age 26 – Barkenston United
Olestrum is your classic, straight up keeper. He can jump, he can dive, he can save when it matters most. He does have a tendancy to act to soon, and he sometimes can be easily fooled when strikers make a shoot-fake. Olestrum is the team ‘jokester’ for sure, he has a knack for letting jokes lose at the perfect times.

SW 04 Tomas Denberg – Age 24 – Nordin
Tomas Denberg is a centre back when he plays for the Nordin side, he has been converted into a sweeper for the purposes of the national team campaign’s. Denberg is great on the long ball, and isn’t scared to use his body to block a shot or pass. Denberg is very conservative, and criticized to me timid when tackling. However, when you put him in a zonal marking scheme, there is almost nobody better.

LB 09 Edsson Fedinstrom – Age 28 – Ballo Impact
Fedinstrom is a great leader for the nearly second rate, Ballo Impact, where he is going to try and beat the opening odds. Anyways, he is on national team for a reason, and that reason is to tackle, tackle, tackle. Fedinstrom can easily be named the greatest tackler in all of TSI. However, with his tackles, he can attract a lot of cards, and even though he is not dirty, he sometimes can get two yellows pretty quickly, however, he is not one to get stand-alone red cards.

CB 21 Aleksander Edler – Age 31 – Wesholm City
Aleksander is one of the most experience players on the entire team, but regardless, he runs his defensive line with ease. Edler will mark you until you admit to the world that attacking against him (Edler) was complete hell. Edler marks righter than anyone else on the national squad. Edler also is known to act up and let his emotions get himself sent off.

RB 10 Ludwick Adholm – Age 26 – Hagen Town
Adholm is a very well ranged defender, and you can never know whether he will tackle, or whether he will sit back and mark. He has great fundementals, perhaps the best on the team. However, Adholm is a small footballer, and can be easily over powered by a big striker. Adholm also is a very scholastic person and his home is always fulled with books and other things he has wrote or read during his collegiate days.

LB/CB 18 Albertus Dudvist – Age 22 – East Star Hanslet
Albertus is a young player with a huge stash of stamina, Dudvist, despite not being a starter, is a key asset of the bench to rest starters. Dudvist can play hard for a long time without getting tired. He is known to be all over the place which can be a good thing and a bad thing. He is an aggressive tackler, but sometimes can be caught off guard.

CB/SW 44 Erik Nailberg - Age 23 – F.C. Wesholm
Nailberg, a starting centre back for F.C. Wesholm, is a backup sweeper and centre back for the TSI national team. Nailberg is great at using a poke tackle to quickly de-ball an attacker, without leaving his feet. He also is great on kicking long balls and can accurately get the ball down field, buying precious seconds in counter attacks. Nailberg is also a young guy, who is a heart throb for young females all across the Scandinavian Islands.

LM 15 Jorge Backstrum – Age 25 – East Star Hanslet
Nobody can run up and down the left flank better than Backstrum. He is a physical footballer who is known to punish the opposition with his slide tackles. He also has one big boot for getting the ball up to his strikers. Backstrum also has made a reputation for being full of himself and dismissing an constructive or destructive criticism.

CM 24 Nicklas Ludberg – Age 28 – Port Kostas Strikers (Camwood)
Ludberg has very recently been signed by the Camian squad, Inter Compolis. He is very a very finesse oriented footballer who isn’t scared to dribble forward and let one rip. PKS is facing a lot of financial struggles and will most likely file for Bankruptcy before the next C-League season. Ludberg, being a very calm and low-ego player, is confident he will get to play next season in the C-League. He, and the rest of PKS will most likely end up playing for a new team known as Port Kostas City, which will be founded, and merged with the strikers in the event of a bankruptcy. Ludberg also is a very humanitarian player and likes to be active in the community.

RM 06 Jakob Malvist – Age 29 – Barkenston United
Malvist is a superstar for a super club. He is predicted to score the most goals in the inaugural season of the DSIFA Division A. Malvist, who normally is a central midfielder, has great accuracy in all his shots and passes. He also is known to take PKs and almost always scoring because he will use the goal posts to ricochet the ball into the net.

AM 13 Andrus Jorge – Age 26 – Wesholm City
Truly an elite midfielder, Jorge is the key playmaker to the Islander attack. Andrus Jorge can effectively dribble and joke and create good scoring chances for the strikers. He can dribble better than anyone else on the national team, and is great at slide tackling and not letting the opposition counter attack. Jorge also has been known to battle with alcoholism, and was an orphan starting when he was five years old.

AM/CM Tomas Holmberg – Age 33 – Nordin
Holmberg is a very senior player on the national team. In fact, he is the oldest. Holmberg, used to be a heavy duty tackler, but since he has aged, he has turned into more of a player who is utilized for setting up play. He is not much of a scorer, but he can definitely use his direct passing skills to get balls into the smallest openings and becomes a great asset on the counter attack.

Wing Mikael van Idasson – Age 30 – North Port Islanders
Van Idasson is a beyond average winger, who has learned to use his wits to overpower the opposition. A Canidate for a PhD. In philosophy, van Idasson, always knows what the opposing side is going to do next and how to counter it. However, he is not the most athletically inclined player on the field, and you can normally get only twenty to thirty good minutes out of him before he needs a breather.

CF 23 Jaal Danvist – Age 23 – Wesholm City
Another footballer who is expected to go a long ways next DSIFA season is Jaal Wrightson. Jaal Wrightson has a great boot, but when he is expeted to dribble, he can disappoint. Wrightson is also the kind of person who is mainly interested in three things: his contract, himself, and winning. However, he is a great striker with a great future ahead of him.

Wing 11 Hendrick Berholm – Age 25 – East Star Hanslet (C)
Greatly unlike Danvist, Berholm is a great team player and well-chosen to be the team’s target man. Berholm is a very well rounded football player; he can shoot, he can tackle, and most of all, he can effectively dribble. Berholm also is a very smart player and is a very good leader, which is why he is team captain.

Wing 07 Kenrick Winstrom – Age 21 – Hagen Town
Kendrick is not a very good shooter, but is great at centring passes from the corners, and when he is on the field, he makes a great corner taker. Winstrom is very team centred and sometimes he passes up on scoring opportunities to get it to someone else.

Manager - Gunutz Yaregi
After yet another disappointing campaign, in which the group stage barrier proved insurmountable for the third time, the FAF did not renew the contract of iconic manager Powell Pieran, who has duly set off in search of new horizons. His replacement is the 60 year-old Gunutz Yaregi, grand architect of Echegoyan FC's meteoric rise from the second tier to First Division champions; a wily old fox with a winning personality. He'll do anything to secure the three points, and his first step was to make a few radical changes to Pieran's squad, setting his sights squarely on World Cup 61, beginning his route with a modest campaign in the Copa Rushmori. For starters, captain Urgutz Belarte did not receive a call-up and has hence been stripped of the armband in place of Raynor City United's Ubelteso Adin. Also, no longer will Olibondeka field daring lines of three defenders and three forwards, but an orthodox line of four at the back, two defensive midfielders, three advanced midfielders across the middle and flanks, and one lone striker. The 4-2-3-1 has proven controversial among both the fans and the players, with the usage of only one striker being heavily criticised when there are many who could take up that space. So, instead of taking one reserve player per position, as is customary, Yaregi has left out a centre-back and a DM to pick a whopping four forwards, figuring the rest can sort of swap around while the others fight tooth-and-nail for a place up front.

Starting XI:
(Ages accurate as of Champions' Cup 41 final)

#1 - GK - Cheru Larretape - Age 32 - Royal Rumiatzi – 57 caps, 81 goals against, 18 clean sheets
At last, Larretape is free of Zernin Aira and can take the number one shirt for himself. Not very tall at all, but his lightning-quick reflexes, agility and leadership set him apart from most keepers. Long-time captain of top domestic club Royal Rumiatzi, he has paid his dues and then some to finally launch a consistent international career.

#5 - LB - Urtzi Galard - Age 29 - Royal Rumiatzi – 80 caps, 3 goals
An international veteran with three Di Bradini Cups and active member of the senior team since the World Cup 57 qualifiers, his quick, offensive runs down the wing are a constant threat. Tireless for the full ninety and an expert crosser, he can seamlessly swap positions with the left winger, and can indeed be used in that position if required.

#16 - CB - Ubelteso Adin (C) - Age 33 – Image Raynor City United - 121 caps, 7 goals
A rock in the defence of one of the best clubs in the world, Adin is a smart player renowned for his smart challenges, his skill at covering empty space and his passing ability. Considered the successor of Milian Erburu, Astograth's now internationally retired star centre-back, but has arguably accomplished much more for both club and country. Turned down the option of playing for Iturributa, owing his allegiance to the national side and former team Royal Rumiatzi, which has earned him the love of the fans and now, under Yaregi, the captain's armband.

#3 - CB – Abdoulaye Bocandé - Age 26 – Echegoyan FC – 50 caps, 4 goals
Although fully Zenegalese, Bocandé has been naturalised by Astograth after his standout performances in the First Division, originally joining from the Tamarindo league. A crucial part of Echegoyan FC's rise to the top and eventual championship run, he is a blood-and-guts defender with no fear of crunching tackles or studs to the face. His drive to excel sets him apart, and despite playing for his adopted nation still enjoys humongous popularity in his homeland of Zenega.

#2 - RB - Benat Uranga - Age 31 - Image Raktaghav Hathi – 64 caps, 2 goals
A fast, technically gifted right-back whose crosses and slide tackles are accurate and deadly, Uranga is as mobile and reliable as they come. He led Raktaghav Hathi of Kagdazka and Pazhujebu to a domestic cup win, the first title of their history, which shows that even though his rosy days at Ituraitz Victory are long gone, he's still got it.

#15 - DM – Ikatz Alberro - Age 25 - Ituraitz FC – 24 caps, 4 goals
Pieran made a gamble by calling up the Astograthian champions' young central midfielder, but it paid off wonderfully. He's carried over his club form, displaying all his talent for finding space in thick midfields, even without the support of such quality players as Ituraitz's Lester Sutton. He works best in partnerships, which means that pairing up with Galeano could improve his peformance even more. A strong boot has resulted in a good scoring ratio as well.

#6 - DM – Galeano - Age 26 - Royal Rumiatzi – 11 caps
Galeano joins Abdoulaye Bocandé as the other naturalised player of the squad; the Tamarindian-born midfielder laboured long and hard at The Army Club before earning a call-up to Copa Rushmori IX and a transfer to cross-town giants Royal Rumiatzi. His small frame can be a problem when confronted with more physical opponents, but he has the vision to wreak havoc if Alberro gives him the space he needs.

#7 - LM – Lekubegi Guerrikaechebarria - Age 25 – Astograth University – 16 caps, 2 goals
His last-minute inclusion in the World Cup 60 squad made the kit man furious, but Guerrikaechebarria definitely deserved it, and Pieran didn't regret it. He is fast and lively, a credible threat down the left wing and newly arisen Astograth University's most versatile man. His eagerness can sometimes be a bit excessive, not thinking things through and dipping in form when setbacks arise, but a capable and talented replacement for captain Urgutz Belarte he most certainly is.

#8 - AM - Otz Lasuen - Age 30 - Image Iturributa United – 89 caps, 16 goals
Lasuen is a classic number 10, though he wears Olibondeka's revered number 8, once worn by long-time captain Estebe Bularte. He doesn't go for the dribble or the sprint, he receives the ball and deals in assists. He takes shots sparingly, though a very strong right boot ensures that when he does it'll be a challenge for the keeper.

#10 - RM - Itzeder Unzueta - Age 32 - Image FKM – 131 caps, 25 goals
Unzueta combines deadly crossing with great shooting skill to turn him into a valuable asset both in and around the box. Tremendously talented, he tends to be selfish with the ball, and his attitude often gets him in trouble with teammates and manager alike. A star at the enormously successful FKM, he is the only member of the squad who can claim to be a UICA Champions' Cup and five-time KPFA League winner.

#9 - CF - Soter Sarlange - Age 33 - Ituraitz FC – 178 caps, 82 goals
Sarlange is a rude, egocentric striker who relies on his speed and height to score with unusual frequency. Most capped and top scorer of the national team by a mile; he knows the ins and outs of a forward's job and the numbers say he can practically score at will. One of the best during his spell in the highly competitive Primeirona, Sarlange is lethal and he knows it.

Substitutes:

#13 - GK - Aztore Irungarai - Age 31 - Image Ousevale Borough – 21 caps, 25 goals against, 5 clean sheets
Reached the semifinals of the Champions' Cup with Sporting Iturributa before packing his bags for Krytenian giants Ousevale Borough. Has a high chance of rotating with Larretape due to fluctuating form.

#23 - GK – Churio Muniya - Age 34 - Astograth University – Uncapped
Most Astograthian keepers consider themselves too good to waste their time on the bench, so Churio Muniya gets to do so for the first time since Di Bradini Cup 17. The former Seria-A keeper is quite delighted to just be there, though he has the skill to perform if the circumstances require it.

#22 - LB - Urre Akaregi - Age 30 - Image Woodlands Lumberjacks – 2 caps
A multi-time Citiz champion with both TFC Lannymore and Merrilin FC, Akaregi didn't have much of a chance under Pieran's offensive formation despite having the skill and the experience to shine for Olibondeka. He may not be at his peak anymore, but he can provide more muscle down the wing if Galard finds himself overwhelmed.

#4 - CB – Yokin Arizmande - Age 21 – Urbizania Wanderers – 16 caps, 1 goal
A product of the Royal Vosaroni Antenelli youth academy, Arizmande moved to Erathore at an early age and was first-team for several years at Niccostrato, in keeping with the Erathi custom of teenaged players. 21, played a World Cup, winner of two Serias-A and a Schelia della Comunita; this defender's future looks very bright.

#17 - RB - Raitin Eneriz - Age 23 - Ituraitz Victory - 1 cap, 1 goal
Eneriz is eerily reminiscent of Uranga: a young, sublimely-talented right-back helps the same disgraced club get itself on its feet, before going to the national team and... that's the question. How will Eneriz do? Uranga has been solid, if ultimately forgetful; can his successor at Ituraitz Victory attain stardom? His solitary cap - crowned with a goal - at the last Copa Rushmori indicate this may well be the case.

#19 - DM – Burutzagi Bidaiyat - Age 19 - Image Edmonton United – 2 caps
Bred at Erathore's Niccostrato, Bidaiyat is a technical-minded midfielder, preferring to dribble and, above all else, pass the ball around like a mindless drone until the opponent makes a grave mistake. He isn't one for getting stuck in the challenge, though being young as he is he might yet adopt the rougher customs of Ikatz Alberro or - God forbid - the crunching tackles of retired Astograthian legend Edorta Urrustoy.

#20 - LM – Anixi Eturaspe - Age 26 – Royal Rumiatzi – 9 caps, 1 goal
More of a central-minded playmaker than the almost inside-forward role Yaregi expects him to play, but Eturaspe is nothing if not confident. A key player at Yaregi's own Echegoyan FC and then Royal Rumiatzi, he is good at creating chances from in and outside the box, though finishing them himself is an entirely different story.

#12 - AM - Aintza Lekea - Age 26 - Image Jan Mayen Islanders – 38 caps, 5 goals
Signed at a remarkably young age by the renowned FC Mildrid of Erathore and then transferred to the equally massive Juvillian Martinax, where he quickly became one of the top-rated players in the Seria-A; after that collapsed, he's found his place in the northern Jan Mayen. Selfish with the ball and a shameless diver, but his tricks and free kicks are brilliant. Competent at taking up the mantle of national team playmaker, though his attitude is strongly rejected by the Astograthian fans.

#14 - RM – Iban Bachiondo - Age 26 - Echegoyan FC – 5 caps, 1 goal
Bachiondo's had a rough relationship with Yaregi, but it can't be denied the man loves himself some Echegoyan FC, even being named captain by Yaregi despite their frequent rows on the pitch. The reason being, Bachiondo doesn't like to follow orders or rely on his teammates, his individualism putting strain on the team as often as it pays off majestically. Bad attitude, great footballer; he would make an excellent duo with Lekea if either of them were into that sort of thing.

#11 - CF - Formerio Iturralde - Age 26 - Image Casuals Osteria – 27 caps
Dismissed by Iturributa United for his attitude and promptly snapped up by top Krytenian club Casuals Osteria, Iturralde is a self-centered goal machine not unlike a younger Soter Sarlange or the eternal Polarian forward Timo Skye. Missed call-ups after not impressing at the Copa Rushmori and Brevity Challenge Cup then ditched the option of playing for Iturributa when he noticed Astograth would probably get him more exposure. Obsessed with getting his first goal, which has proven very elusive and frustrating to the extreme, both for him and the fans calling for his head.

#21 - CF - Ikatz Ansotegi - Age 29 - Image CR Submiria - 67 caps, 20 goals
Known for scoring absurd amounts of goals in the Astograthian league thanks to his sheer speed, height and brute force, recently transferred to the Cafundelense Primeirona. Built like a rugby forward and nicknamed 'The Locomotive' because he barges through the defense till he scores. Put five past Melbergia in a World Cup 58 qualifier, making him the first and only man to do so for Olibondeka, and can be relied upon to very literally stomp all over the defense.

#18 - CF - Hurko Atristain - Age 28 - Image Red Star Severny – 44 caps, 24 goals
Consistent scoring earned him a transfer to Red Star Severny from Urbizania Wanderers, then a call-up to Copa Rushmori VIII and the Brevity Challenge Cup, then the World Cup qualifiers and the finals themselves. Has responded everywhere he's played and racked up an impressive goal count that has him fourth on the all-time top scorer list.

Captain: Ubelteso Adin
Free Kick Taker: Otz Lasuen
Penalty Taker: Soter Sarlange
Right Corner: Lekubegi Guerrikaechebarria
Left Corner: Otz Lasuen

All of Astograth's home matches will be played at the 90,000-seater Grand Duke's Stadium in the capital city of Rumiatzi. National team games, the domestic cup final and a few extraordinary events are the only football matches ever hosted at Grand Duke's, so expect the atmosphere to be intense on and off the pitch.

YES to all RP permissions, barring any career-ending incidents. Should you have any questions about anything, please do TG me.

A roster detailing the members of the
Kiryu-shi National Football Team,
The Kiri (桐),
for competition in the
61st edition of the World Cup
submitted for the benefit of potential rivals and interested parties.

Coaching Staff

Marja Mayberry (Head Coach) --- Age: 59
Grand-daughter of esteemed Kiryu-shi legend Pat Mayberry, Marja Mayberry was taught the sport by her father during the country-wide ban on sports, and remains one of the only people in the entire nation with the credentials to lead anything related to football. The leader of Kiryu-shi’s international football program for the last fifteen years, and the three-time head coach, Mayberry is known for her emphasis on solid defending and flanking attacks. Although she has tended to favor a physical team centered around an aggressive, powerful defense, the players that emerged during the Cup of Harmony, Di Bradini Cup, and the AOCAF have encouraged Mayberry to move towards a team that is built around flanking speed and athleticism. Mayberry will infuse the veterans of the last two World Cups with youth, a move that she hopes will showcase the new talent in Kiryu-shi as they look for their first World Cup Qualification since World Cup 37.

Boaz Crow (Assistant Coach) --- Age: 53
Like Mayberry, Boaz Crow is the grandchild of a former national team member, goalkeeper Jon Crow. Although the younger Crow doesn’t have the same experience as Mayberry does, he has proven himself to be a good motivator and trainer of young players, particularly defenders. Crow, who led the Di Bradini Cup team to a surprising third place finish, will be challenged in this World Cup Qualification to ensure that the younger players on the squad remain focused during their biggest competition to date.

GK
Kohei Yasumu (#1) --- Age: 29 --- Sakaino University
A quiet but forceful presence on the goal line, Kohei Yasumu has never been the most technically adept keeper, but he can show moments of extreme athleticism making spectacular saves. This will be his third World Cup, and he has been one of the most consistent performers on the team, but he still shows some hesitancy at his position, particularly when going up for crosses. His mental mistakes have kept him from reaching his potential to be an elite keeper, but he is still easily the best keeper in the nation.

DF
Olive Ferguson (#5) --- Age: 29 --- Aioi University
The long-time captain of the national team, Olive Ferguson utilizes her dominant physical presence to shut down opposing attacks with precise, aggressive, hard tackles. She has a tendency to be carded frequently, however, and has been known to vocalize her displeasure with officials. Coming off of knee surgery, she has limited her mobility, and will likely be the first person taken out of any given match.

Rebecca Hamilton (#4) --- Age: 27 --- Sakaino University
A foil against Olive Ferguson’s aggressive play, Rebecca Hamilton is possibly the most technically skilled player in the nation, showing an incredible ability to control any ball at first touch. She is able, generally, to take a ball away from attackers with seemingly no effort, and when she can be coaxed into helping with counter-attacks, she is often able to move past multiple opposing defenders. She generally struggles with positioning, as she tends to get sucked into one-on-one battles, and can be caught unawares while the rest of the defense has sprung an off-side trap.

Lilly Yume (#14) --- Age: 17 --- Sakaino University
A highly inexperienced defender who showcased her considerable talent in the 23rd Di Bradini Cup, Yume has considerable speed, and has practically grown up in the prestigious Sakaino University Athletic Center. With the combination of top-class training and incredible speed, she has the promise of being one of the best defenders of her generation, but comes into a starting position in the World Cup due to a shift in the philosophy of the team, towards a more speed and attack-oriented focus. Her inexperience will likely mean that she is a weak link in the defense, but the team is hoping that her natural talent will shine through.

Charles Meer (#8) --- Age: 27 --- Kasakake University
Charles Meer has been one of the most physically imposing players in Kiryu-shi for a long time, with tremendous height and speed, allowing him to cover vast distances from his left wing back position. Lacking a great leg or ball control, he nevertheless is an effective attacker due to the great runs he can carve through a defense. His height also makes him a threat on corners, and he never seems to have trouble hastily retreating to his defensive position.

MF

Will Feingold (#2) --- Age: 25 --- Umeda University
Will Feingold will be the key to the Kiryu-shi defense, as his position in the defensive midfield is charged with shutting down the opposition’s runs. He has tremendous speed and agility, and is able to monitor from sideline to sideline. He generally contains himself to the defensive half of the field, hesitant to help out with attacks, but when he does, he is an extraordinary threat, one of the few players who has consistently been a goal-scoring threat, making long and effective runs down the field. He has tremendous ball-control skills, and is a relentless tracker of whoever has the ball on the opposing attack. Although he can be used in a position to attack, on the national team he is used to neutralize opposing attacks as best possible.

Ian McGuinness (#17) --- Age: 19 --- Kawauchi University
The captain of Kiryu-shi’s latest Di Bradini squad, IanMcGuinness is an attacking midfielder with a fine awareness of the field, capable of directing a complex, multifaceted attack, and always ready to give the ball up to a player with a better shot on goal. He has an occasional, one-footed shot that can be successful, but isn’t particularly adept with his footwork and not necessarily faster than anyone else on the pitch. His precise distribution, however, allows him to be incredibly successful in what he does. He will be playing out of position on the wing, but he still should be an effective part of Kiryu-shi’s attack.

Connor Boyle (#7) --- Age: 24— Sakaino University
Connor Boyle has been a perplexing player throughout his still career. On his university squad, he has had periods of incredible success, with his superior pace capable of dominating matches. He maintains the fastest straight-away speed on the national team, but plays with a wildness that isn’t necessarily conducive to consistent success on the pitch, often enthusiastically hitting the ball in the same general area of the goal, but rarely actually scoring. His athleticism in the attacking mid-field, however, adds a dynamic quality to the Kiryu-shi attack, whether or not it is necessarily effective.

Lidia Barnes (#6) --- Age: 27 --- Sakaino University
One of the most dangerous strikers in Kiryu-shi, Lidia Barnes has thrived in her position in the midfield on the national team, where she is able to use her deep knowledge of tactics and great ball-control to dictate the pace of attack. Although not a tremendous athlete, and not particularly fast, she has quick feet and plays her position extremely intelligently. Although she’s not a dynamic playmaker, if the game is going well she can pepper the goal area with accurate passes as she controls the Kiryu-shi attack.

FW
Samantha DeCastro (#11) --- Age: 26 --- Amanuma University
A former gymnast, and a tremendously gifted athlete, Samantha DeCastro is Kiryu-shi’s most consistent goal-scorer. A heavy reliance on her athleticism means that she still tends to have an unreliable first touch and a fairly inaccurate shot, but still somehow manages to create imaginative goals from crosses anywhere in her general vicinity. Throughoug her career, she has shown a propensity for making the unexpected happen. This is the first World Cup when she’ll share the striker position, and still doesn’t have a great awareness of how to distribute the ball, but she will likely score her share of goals through qualification. She tends to do better when she relies on instincts, often overthinking when she has more than three or four touches on the ball.

Tziganes d'Arányi (#12) --- Age: 20 --- Sakaino University
The most dazzling player on Kiryu-shi’s national team, Tziganes d'Arányi has participated in Kiryu-shi’s most recent attempts at the Cup of Harmony and the Di Bradini Cup, but has yet to play a match for World Cup qualifications. She is quickly making a case for the most talented scorer in the nation at large, but remains an incredibly divisive person in Kiryu-shi society. Descended from a group of political dissidents who left Kiryu-shi several generations ago, d'Arányi recently emigrated back to join Kiryu-shi’s official national team. Slight and slim, d’Arányi still can be physically overpowered and can virtually disappear during portions of certain matches, but her ability to score goals from any angle with both her feet, as well as her versatile and creative ball control, makes her a tantalizingly talented scorer

Reserves

Kiryu-shi home matches will be played on tour throughout the nation, as Kiryu-shi’s former national stadium was destroyed following the national team’s return from the AOCAF. The stadiums on tour belong to one of Kiryu-shi’s eight major universities. For each home match, Kiryu-shi will allow 1,000 foreign visitors for a period of seven days, a figure which includes the visiting team and coaching staff. The schedule, with the corresponding home stadiums, is as follows:

MD 1: @ Banrodesia
MD 2: Bye
MD 3: @ Saugeais
MD 4: @ Redava
MD 5: vs Armed Bears (Kasakake University Stadium; Capacity 6,500)
MD 6: @ Cosmic Censorship
MD 7: vs Unified Falcon (Sakuragi University Athletic Complex; Capacity 2,000)
MD 8: vs Balma (Amanuma University Performing Arts Center; Capacity 3,550)
MD 9: @ Aguazul

MD 10: vs Bandrodesia (Aioi University Athletic and Performance Arts Center; Capacity 4,200)
MD 11: Bye
MD 12: vs Saugeais (Maruyama University Sporting Center; Capacity 10,000)
MD 13: vs Redava (Kawauchi Field; No Official Seating, unlimited standing/sitting room on hillside)
MD 14: @ Armed Bears
MD 15: vs Cosmic Censorship (Umeda University Stadium; Capacity 10,000)
MD 16: @ Unified Falcon
MD 17: @ Balma
MD 18: vs Aguazul (TBA)

As each university is represented by the largest circle in their respective regions, the stadiums all fall within the areas represented by those largest circles. The smaller circles represent smaller urban centers, and each line represents high-speed transit around the city-state. Smaller local transportation connects smaller suburbs and neighborhoods.

--- Colors --- Whites ---
--- Alternates --- Keepers ---

Yes, they've changed since AOCAF XXXVI. Why? Because after that performance, why would you want to remind yourself that you even participated by wearing the same kit?

Colors: In World Cups long past, the Geisenfried national team sought to separate themselves from other team uniforms by introducing a chequered kit, based off the red and black quartering on the royal family's coat of arms. This version is a bit more muted in the chequering than the AOCAF XXXVI kit, limiting it to a more modest striping rather than the entire front of the kit. This kit is their preferred uniform, and will generally be worn so long as it does not clash with the opponent's kit as the away side, or by specific request.

Whites: The go-to second kits for the Geisenfried national team for use on the road, when necessity or request demands a primarily white kit. Otherwise not notable.

Alternates: Based off a set of kits of old, lovingly known domestically as the "Bettian alternates" for being hastily adopted on the fly right before a mid-WC30s knockout match with Bettia, known for their widespread cultural distrust of the color red. This black and gold kit sees use if both of the other kits clash with their opponents as the away side, on certain special occasions, and of course, when facing a nation with the pathological fear of the color red, as Geisenfried strives to be nothing if not culturally sensitive.

Keeper: Originally, Geisenfried keeper kits were black like the current alternates - indeed, the Bettian alternates were originally derived from a small surplus of black keeper kits, altered to have outfield player names and numbers. However, this meant that the base keeper kit had to be changed. The decision was made to invert the base colors, leading to the current coloration.

Regarding RP permissions - so long as I don't have to replace a large chunk of my roster, thwart a terrorist attack or fend off an invasion, I probably won't have a problem with it. I only ask you be sensible.

Team Overview

A failure to secure a World Cup 60 spot after a disappointing 3rd place finish behind Gyatso-kai and The Arch sees Mapletish end up in the Cup Of Harmony.Finishing behind rivals Western Cuba in the Cup Of Harmony saw newly appointed manager Oelen Heinz's position on fire, with a Copa Rushmori X campaign to revive his chances, finishing undefeated in the group stage and bringing home the group title, the Lions went on to be defeated in the Round Of 16,which was one of their worst Copa Rushmori campaign to match with their first Copa Rushmori appearance where they were also defeated in the Round Of 16.

Following the 2nd Reading Of Heinz Case after the Copa Rushmori, the Sports Congress led to a final statement of Heinz being removed from the managerial position of the Mapletish team with 95 votes for and 5 votes against.A panel of coaches, pundits, sport scientists and experts are brought into report the progress of Heinz's tactics and man-management skills through a series of different games that Heinz had taken charge in.Following a voting session and the 10 member Executive Committee's vote,Heinz was removed from his position. The end result was Muain Newtons being put back in charge of the Mapletish team and Oelen Heinz being demoted to Assistant Manager to assist Muain Newtons in his management of the team.

The statement issued by the Sports Congress has found Muain Newtons a suitable choice as the manager of the Mapletish team because of his record in management of the team, and he has also shaped up the team from start where it was left off by Sir Billy. The end result has taken effect after Oelen Heinz stepped down from the managerial position of the Mapletish team the day after.Muain Newtons' second stint as the manager of the Mapletish team will be the starting of a new era for Mapletish football.Heinz's CoH efforts have gave Mapletish a top 60 world finish, with much of the efforts mount onto by Muain Newtons where the jump in rankings for the Mapletish team was the highest.

Will Muain Newtons lead Mapletish into World Cup 61 ?

First Eleven + Management Team

Manager: Muain Newtons, 45
Muain Newtons got his seat back onto the Mapletish team again after he was removed from his post after the World Cup 60 campaign after taking the Lions for 2 World Cup cycles,World Cup 59 and 60,before Heinz stepped in to lead Mapletish in the Cup Of Harmony and the subsequent Copa Rushmori.Heinz's failure to lead the Lions to the expectations of the Mapletish team led to his removal from his managerial spot following a second reading on his case in the Sports Congress after the Copa Rushmori in which it had seen the Lions crushing out in the Round of 16,on par with their worst Copa Rushmori campaign in the their debut.

A man of different attitudes, his eagerness to bring success to the team was what differentiate him from any other manager elsewhere.Having had a difficult pair of shoes to fill now then he did a few WC cycles back, his second stint will be another challenge as their main objective would be to qualify for the World Cup.In his recent press conference on what his he going do from where he has left off,he has decided to step up on a balanced,offensive-based playing style,a different way of playing style that he has left off after his all-out attacking mentality, brought in some dark sides in the team's performance.

From where he has left off,he has also pledged his support on the Mapletish's youthful players and has promised to give the youth players a chance to shine in this World Cup qualifying campaign. With many senior players such as Alero Junio,Di Natile,JH Morison and Maro Balote relegated to the bench in Heinz's team,Newtons has a new approach to set the seniors back into the starting line-up as they were practically safe options for Mapletish in the bid of qualifying for the World Cup.

In the recent statement by Mapletish Sports Federation's President Sir Moros Alexander, the legend of Mapletish sports management,he has encouraged fans and the nation to put faith in Newtons as Newtons' bid to qualify for the World Cup is a bare-minimum for the team.Expectations for the Lions to perform might be high, but Newtons is determined to put the pressure into good motivational uses.Expectations are rounding up high now ......

Assistant Manager, Oelen Heinz, 35
The young ambitious man that led Mapletish to only a single win in the Cup Of Harmony and a Round Of 16 exit in the Copa Rushmori in the hands of Darmen, before getting removed from his managerial post and demoted to the assistant manager position,Heinz's short managerial stint has introduced several changes to the emphasis on the Lions. With a more conservative approach on tactics and offensive mentality,he was able to win bits of support from the Sports Congress on the first reading of his case brought up by Sir Alexander, the first reading was defeated 70-30,with strong support for Heinz, however the second reading of his case was not in his favour with a 95-5 outcast of votes show that he is currently out of favour among the Sports Federation.

The statement issued by the Speaker Of The Sports Congress states that Heinz will be demoted to the assistant manager position until further notice with Muain Newtons back in charge of the team.Although he has the support of only 5 Congressional Members,he is given another chance to redeem himself, this time in the assistant manager position. To cut the long speech short,Heinz will have lots of things to learn from Muain Newtons in his assistant managerial role.

Without the hot-seat pressure on him,he is expected to perform better in his role this time with several responsibilities lying on his shoulders. His eye for young players have already developed several team-rooted players such as Dennis Long who scored the deciding 4 goals that see the Lions beat their opponents in a close 4-3 victory. He is tasked this time to search for youngsters in the Youth Development Band One Categories Clubs, namely Mapletish Premier League clubs. His short stint experience as the Mapletish manager can give him bits of advantage.

First-Team Coach, Jeanette Finley , 26
Currently one of the youngest coaches that is in the Management team, she is one of the first few female first team coaches that the team has in its history. She is the recipient of the Top Female Football Manager Award after leading Home United Ladies to a double in their season.Jeanette then accept a national team post to coach the first team as a first team coach in the World Cup.

She is ambitious and her hard-nosed attitude in her work has won the hearts of many of her players that she has coached. In her short stint with Home United Ladies and the Mapletish Women's Football team, she is now given the chance to coach the Mapletish team to show her ambitious fore-front as she coaches the Mapletish team.
