BACKGROUND AND HISTORY
Palmyrion is a place of diversity, and exudes itself to the rest of the world as a melting pot of ideologies and ethnicities, with all people from all walks of life converging together in the perpetual task that is the nation-building and nation-nurturing of the Royal Commonwealth - but as the old adage says, if you want peace (and perhaps freedom), prepare for war, and Palmyrion's history is perhaps an iconic example of friction-inducing diversity and acceptance of various ideas, religions, and ethnic groups.
Palmyrion exudes itself as a socially and economically progressive country - not left, not right, but forward, and all times forward. It is a melting pot of cultures, religions, ideologies, and ethnicities - 77% are ethnically Palmyrian, with 10% being of Marshite and 9% being of Romandean ethnicities, and the various minor ethnicities in the Royal Commonwealth aggregately form 4% of the Population; 45% profess the Christian faith, while 46.5% are of the Marshite faith, with 5.0% being Muslim and 1.5% of various minority religions, with 2% being atheist. The LGBTQIA+ community in Palmyrion is estimated to be a tiny 1-2% of the population, and same-sex marriage, adoption by same-sex couples and LGBT individuals, legal sex changes (only after sex change procedures, which aren't covered by the universal healthcare program as they are deemed non-essential), and same-sex sexual activity are legal. Socioeconomic mobility in the Royal Commonwealth is moderately easy, brought about by universal healthcare and education programs alongside social welfare and, to quote the Palmyrian Free Enterprise Society, the prevalence of "widespread free and responsible enterprise" in the form of cooperatives.
While all opinions deserve to be heard and scrutinized, some do not deserve respect - some deserve ridicule, and appropriate backlash (however harsh), for their outright backward insanity. While Palmyrion fully embraces the free speech and individual diversity, it clearly draws a line on the sand between appropriately lawful speech and outright incitation of criminality and terrorism, between responsible individual action and outright criminality and lawlessness - and perhaps a stellar, contemporary example of this would be the 2019 Commonwealth Square Pride Massacre, which ended in the deaths of 1,287, the assassination of former monarch Alexander II (who has since then been succeeded by his consort), and injury of varying severity to 9,295.
The government responded heavy-handedly, arresting all members and taking down all affiliate organizations of the terror group responsible for the deadly massacre: the BLP, or the Bagong Lipunan ng Palmyria, which espoused Christofacist ideology centered around Christian dominion theology and reconstructionism. Founded originally on 2013, the group is perhaps notorious for increased terror activity during the months of June, the proverbial "Pride Month", and April and May, the months on which Ramadan usually falls. With Palmyrion caving onto them, as their front churches and charities were taken down and seized by the government, and members being arrested or being killed after resisting arrest, their last 120 members staged a last stand alongside their most senior leadership; during the two-week siege lasting from July 25 to August 8, 104 were killed, with 6 being captured, and the remaining 10 confirmed to have committed suicide. The BLP was dead in a month-long fell swoop - but their ideology remained, and their imprint preserved.
You can kill people, but you can't kill ideologies - and the government has been alerted to an uptick of self-proclaimed "BLP successors" in social media, one of which has been apprehended in social media website "Setsuzoku"'. Meanwhile, a "Straight Pride Parade" is set to happen on August 31 in the Commonwealth Square in the capital city of Aragon to be held by social conservative groups parading under the banner "Palmyrian Fun and Happiness Society", and it is expected that the amount of counter-protestors to the event will be just as large, if not larger - and the stage is set for what could be the bloodiest rally in the Royal Commonwealth, and the subsequent rise of yakuza-like criminal organizations operating with Christian dominion theology and reconstructionism as their defining ideology, alongside militant leftist organizations claiming to take into their own hands the defense of the Royal Commonwealth's progressive socioeconomic status quo, and militant Islamist organizations who say that only Sharia Law can restore social harmony in Palmyrion.
SCOPE OF THE ROLEPLAY
Greetings, NS! It's Palmyrion with yet another RP, as militant Christian fundamentalism rises in Palmyrion and threatens the rather progressive social status quo of the Royal Commonwealth. The old monarch has been assassinated by the so-called BLP and has been succeeded by his wife, and we are about to witness the rise of militant Christian, leftist, and Islamist groups operating in a yakuza-esque scheme.
For some who may want to ask questions, here is the situation condensed into various points:
- The Bagong Lipunan ng Palmyrion (EN: New Society of Palmyrion), born on 2013, was responsible for many Islamophobic and homophobic attacks since its birth - with the worst being the Commonwealth Square Pride Massacre of 2019 that resulted into 1,287 deaths and 9,295 injuries, including the assassination of former monarch Lakán Alexander II. The late Lakán Alexander II has been succeeded by his consort, Lakambini Elizabeth the Commoner. BLP is a Christian fundamentalist terror group that ascribes to a Christian ideology centered around Christian dominion theology and reconstructionism, and has been declared a terror group only last July; it was previously a criminal group with a focus on hate crimes.
- The month-long purge of BLP members and front institutions (such as churches and charities) on July dealt the killing blow to the BLP, with their disastrous last stand putting the final nail to their coffin. It is suspected that BLP members and sympathizers who survived the government-led purging of their group formed splinter organizations who claim to be successors to the BLP - and the apprehension of one of their social media accounts in Setsuzoku provides credence to their suspicion.
- These "successor groups" are considered among the Palmyrian intelligence community to be fusions of white supremacist groups and organized crime groups such as the Japanese yakuza, the Chinese triads, or the mafias; in particular, their militant fronts (with the intention of committing terrorism, hate crimes, and, in extreme cases, insurgency) are maintained alongside such fronts such as churches and cults (to influence people into joining their ranks) and enterprises of varying legitimacy (to fund the other two fronts; may engage in activities such as human trafficking and drug trafficking).
- In light of the rise of BLP's "successors", militant leftist organizations, claiming to take into their own hands the defense of the nation's progressive socioeconomic status quo, and militant Islamist organizations, striving for the full implementation of Sharia Law to restore social harmony in Palmyrion, rose, following the same organization structure of having a militant front (in many cases, armed) alongside public relations fronts (activist organizations, houses of worship, charities, etc.) and illicit/legitimate enterprises.
APPLICATION
Now that we have condensed the situation into a few, more easily digestible points, you guys are all free to apply to RP as a militant Christian fundamentalist group that rose following the downfall of the BLP, alternatively you can, as nations, NGOs, terrorist groups, or organized crime groups, either provide assistance to these groups or help apprehend them.

Christian fundamentalist groups
- Disciples of Cain - The Disciples of Cain is a terrorist organization founded and led by Charles Zapeta. It started out on November 2012 as a miniscule terror group, and attached to the BLP when the BLP became highly successful. The Disciples broke off from the BLP during late 2018, and now with the BLP effectively destroyed, the Disciples are now actively seeking out former BLP members as recruits. They are funded by a mixture of illicit operations such as bank robbery, extortion, and narcotics and weapons trafficking. Their public face is the First Temple of Heaven, a religious organization with 17 temples around the Royal Commonwealth and led by a council of 17 reverends, which serves as a major source of recruits and revenue.

- Federal Kingdom of Rhunnland (Provision of assistance to militant groups; and action against militant groups)
Rhunnland plans to assist Palmyrion in fighting against the militant groups, while leaning left. It is speculated that much of their action would be covert, mostly consisting of special forces and cyberwarfare.
