I'm much more open online. IRL, I'm about as open as the Department Of Official Bible Rewriting. >_>

In real life you have 3 kids. You have to set an example for them.

I mean, god forbid they should grow up taking things seriously!

I tend to say less online due to the more varied nature of people here than those I would normally converse with. In a real-time chat I might say more, but here I often just read what others are saying; that's less possible, or socially-acceptable, in IRL so I would make more comments then, though rarely go on a long explanation.

Oh, it's true. As fucked up as the world is gonna be, you can't take things too seriously. Silliness will become a survival trait and my kids are gonna be the survival experts for the next generation.

If so, what?

I'm generally a nice guy IRL, but on the interwebs, I can be quite a jerk. And an opinionated one at that.

Very little. About the only thing that's really different is that I can't really show emotions like I want to, so I used stand-ins, and oftentimes my textual speech is a bit more verbose than my actual speech. (Half the time when typing things I forget that the tone I'm "speaking" in isn't carried, in fact, so often I'll type something with a certain tone, have other people read it and see a different tone, then see them get seriously confused or potentially even upset.)

I'm a lot more extroverted over the internet, and a lot more coherent. I communicate most things better through text, since I can edit it before I send it, and I don't tend to just fall over my words or forget my own chain of thought mid-sentence.

I say more extroverted though this is somewhat inconsistent. sometimes I get excessive social anxiety on the internet (being too scared to even talk to some people in case they hate me), and sometimes I have a complete lack of it in person (yelling KANE LIVES IN DEATH at someone wearing a t-shirt with the brotherhood of nod symbol on it earlier today.). it's just the usual state of affairs for me.

People tend to listen to me more IRL. It's probably because I spend less time dicking around.

You talk about "real life vs. internet" as if to imply the internet isn't part of real life. It involves real people communicating with each other through real technology. Though then again, it isn't necessarily people's real opinions that are being expressed; I tend to play devil's advocate on the Internet every now and then, and the extent to which I do that in person is quite rare in comparison.

I tend to be quite imaginitive, and full of crazy and usually stupid ideas that depending on the idea usually can end badly, I also spend lots of time outside cycling and mountain biking etc. When online i feel i change and become much more civil and polite towords other people and am a lot less crazy. I class myself as a bit of a geek and spend a lot of my time online usually doing stuff like this. In general i am also a lot older online i am no longer 16...... but more like 23

I don't think my internet persona is that different from my real-life persona. However I feel more confident online, therefore I contribute more to the discussions on here than I would do in real life. This is due to my Asperger Syndrome.
