Do women play Strategy/RTS/Geopolitical games?

I've noticed that the vast majority of strategy games are made up of males. The ONLY time I've actually seen a female play a Geopolitical simulator or something like that was... in 2014. But since, I haven't seen such a thing.

Not counting NationStates, why don't women play these types of games more often? I mean, I don't get it... it's really weird to me. And if you are a woman, can you explain why you don't? And if so, reveal yourself?

Yes, but they tend to be less vocal than male players because most forums are dominated by guys- which can be intimidating depending on the atmosphere of the forum or those who frequent the forum. I don't really know how to explain it, but some places give off "bad vibes" for girls. I'm not a sensitive person but male-dominated places online can bring out the worst in some people.

It certainly counts, Napoleon Total War is a very good strategy game with some excellent mods.

They are more popular among men, but dude.... If you haven't seen a woman play one since 2014, that's because you haven't been looking very hard. It's not THAT rare.

I think the problem is men assume that anyone playing a game that doesn't explicitly announce they're a woman is a man
