I got an idea for an award.

The Hippostania Conversion Therapy Award
A member on the site on your former ideology that caused you to turn away from your former ideology and to the other side.

How often does that actually happen, though? I mean, not just changing one's opinion on a single issue, but changing one's entire political perspective because you realize that there's a guy arguing for your side who is so bad at arguing his points that he actually pushes you over to the competition?

Interesting. From personal experience, I've been known to turn on people who were supposedly on the same side as me for piss-poor debate tactics and sloppy reasoning, but that's never caused me to question my own beliefs. Only a convincing counterargument can do that, or being proved wrong by the course of events.

Not decline as much as question some people's nominations of me for some awards, like the Excellence in Posting one. I suppose the awarding went fine, all things considered.
