Nationality is rooted in culture, not race- note how Henrik Larsson is as Swedish as they come, but is mixed race; while there are I'm sure plenty of Whites in Sweden who aren't that Swedish in terms of culture.

Could be any number of reasons, really. Location probably plays a large role; if you find a 7000-year-old (For example) skeleton in Africa, chances are its an African. Otherwise, certain genetic markers can tie different groups together (mitochondrial DNA, for instance), and can be tested based upon things like bone marrow samples or preserved soft tissue. EDIT: Or, nowadays things like oxygen isotope analysis in teeth are useful as well.

I'd note, however, that these genetic differences are not at all significant on a macrological scale; the only real differences between the races biologically are literally skin-and-cartilage deep. Pigmentation and surface features, really.

This. Race is a very antiquated notion. It was even when it was contrived centuries ago. Culture and economics matter. Race does not.

AFAIK, there's too much internal variation in bone structure for that to really count as a phenotype category. Things like social standing, nutrition and lifestyle affect that much more than one's individual race.
