Are you trolling or being sarcastic? I do not want to be a thread drifter here but as an aside, I totally agree with Lincoln that the country needed to be all slave or all free. I also think that the same thing applies to abortion. Abortion and Slavery are both questions of when are human beings considered to be people with human rights. We might agree or disagree on whether they are people or not, but I hope you agree with Lincoln and I on the principle that it cannot be one way in one state and a different way in a different state.

I was saying: "who in their right mind would marry someone who's as old as 13". It was basically saying that 13's way too old for marriage.

In India until even the turn of the century, it was common to marry men with young children around 5. Prepubescent girls and pubescent ones are married all the time even today in rural India.
