Can't disagree there.

Domestic issues:
-Establish a healthcare system based on Britain's NHS
-Legalize all soft and hard drugs drugs. Regulate and tax
-Legalize prostitution. Regulate and tax
-Legalize euthanasia
-Decrease politicians salaries and cut their benefits

Yes! Except the term limits one. That I don't believe in.

China can deal with that. If not they would lose a big source of jobs (outsourcing to China gone) and a trading partner.

Glad to see we agree on most everything though. :)

i would vote for you, but it would arguably be better to legalize, regulate, and tax all drugs. in doing so, you will limit the power of the drug lords by decreasing the value of the drugs. in addition, it would reduce violence and loss of life because the people would not be forced to buy it from illegal sources. the taxes made from the drugs could be used to fix america's crumbling infastructure, or even to fund widespread information programs about the dangers of said drugs.

Would you also be in favour of increasing aid to Mexico, and maybe even asking them if they want the USA to send in military forces to help with the Drug War?

And yes, the islands and most of balkan regions majorically consisted of main settlers just because Ottoman Empire never attempted to change the population of the regions expelling, creating fake fires or murdering citizens. Today, there are many '' Turkish immigrants from balkans '' here who were forced to leave their homes or escaped from the chaos at the beginning of 1900s. But balkan people have lived in their own lands since Ottoman rule and they were not touched.

Greek state causes some border violations in Aegea. Some islands that currently belong to us have been captured by Greeks. They put Greek flag there. I can not get angry at them because our government ignores this issue and does nothing. But of course we will give some responses.

Imperialist powers made a '' fait accompli '' in Aegean Islands and Mosul-Kirkuk issues. Those issues should be taken up again imo.

So becuase these area's had minority Turkish populations they should be part of the Turkish state? And I do believe it was not just Turkish settlers who had to flee the Balkans. Plenty of Greeks, Armenians and Jews had to flee from Lnads they had lived for centuries.

If the Balkan peoples lived so peacefully, why would there have been the Nationalist revolts? Many problems in the Balkans. ie Kosovo can be traced to Ottoman times. Part of my family are Greeks who orginated from Izmir but I am not advocating for those area's to become Greek again becuase the population there is Turkish and there would be little point in re igniting a long died conflict in an area as volatile as the Balkans.

I respect the fact that this is your opnion, I am merely discussing it.

Well, Nationalism was a problem for all empires. However much Ottomans would give rights to minorities, they were going to be carried away in the nationalism wind in any way. Before French Revolution, balkan nations lived in peace for 400-500 centuries under Ottoman rule. Their homes, beliefs, life-styles etc. were not touched. We can't expect minorities to be loyal to the state when even Turks get affected from nationalism and revolut against the state. For example, Young Turks. For example, Kemalists. So this can't even be an argument.

And no I don't say that. This is not about population. I just mean that Aegean Islands should belong to Turkey because it's a different situation. We had given them to Italy in WW1 and it was guarenteed that Italy would give them back after WW1. But they've given them to Greeks instead and broke the agreement. It was totally unfair. We just want to take our rights.Turkish people still have a chip on their shoulder about these islands. If a war starts with Greeks, Aegean Islands would be the first ones we'd try to take immediately. It's a pain inside the nation.

I can't accept current situation. You know why, I go to holiday in Bodrum. I see Rhodes, it stands just a few swimming strokes away. But they never let me go there even though It's located in our own waters.

I just want to put an end to this *ullshit. Let Greeks and Turks take the islands that's located in each other's waters. This is a fair solution.

Economic
-Progressive tax system. Increase taxes significantly on the wealthy.
-Highly regulate derivitives and other financial instruments. Separate investment banking from other banks.
-Government programs to create jobs in times of high unemployment
-Massive investment into solar, wind, algae, geothermal and other alternative energies as well as energy efficiency.
-Encourage high-tech + high speed rail
-Shift farm subsidies to healthy foods and in the direction of a plant based diet.
-Single payer universal healthcare
-Highly subsidized higher education to keep students from going into massive debt.

Domestic/social
-Strictly limit corporate donations on campaigns
-Move to a more proportional system of representation in government with many parties instead of just two.
-Recognize gay marriage in all states.
-Legalize marijuana and explore decriminalization of other soft drugs.
-Keep hard drugs (ie coke, heroin) illegal but have the government give away for free under tightly controlled conditions to addicts to eliminate the profit motive on the black market and reduce crime associated with paying for drugs.
-Don't treat prostitutes as criminals and give them social services not jail. Keep paying for sex illegal though with small fine+education class+ name made public for first offense and higher punishments for subsaquent offenses.
-Sex education in all schools and free condoms/birth control to all. No questions asked.
-Teach critical thinking in schools starting early on. Encourage both science/math and arts/music in schools.
-Encourage animal rights through laws, public education campaigns on effects of animal products on animals, health, environment etc.

Foreign policy
-Cut military spending by 25%
-Pull out of Iraq/Afganistan and limit future military interventions (outside of a declared war) to UN peacekeeping missions.
-Support human rights worldwide but in a non-interventionist way.
-Base trade agreements on workers/environment not on corporate profits
-Increase foreign aid but evaluate on a regular basis to make sure it meets the goals outlined and change if it doesn't.

The agreement with the Italians got broken in 1923. With the outbreak of World War one the Italian governemnt kept control of the islands rather than holding onto them, then when they realised they weren't going to get any land in Mainland Turkey in the early 1920s, formally annexed the islands under the treaty of Lausanne and that was recognised by the new Turkish government.

After World War two the islands were given to Greece as reperations for the Italian invasion and attempted anexation of Greece and becuase those islands were predominately Greek. Turkey did not even participate in the war. Any claim of those islands by the Turkish government was lost during Lausanne. You would be able to swim to those island if both states were able to improve thier relations and get rid of the animosty.

"Maintain strong economic growth "- durr, no shit.

"-Establish a work program to reduce the unemplyment rate (which is probably very little)"- err, ok...

"-Tweak the healthcare system such that only the most poorest individuals can get free health-care"- what is this I don't even

"Establish laws to protect the rights of taxi drivers"- huh?

"Ban and criminalize homosexuality"- fuck

"Outlaw all opposition parties"- *head desk head desk head desk head desk*

"Death penalty for all sex offenders"- worst thing to do about it

"Outlaw the usage of drugs" ugh

"Death penalty for anyone who brings in even the slightest amount of drugs into Singapore" you sure like killing people, volunteering to pull the trigger yourself are you?

"Caning for all litterers Caning for spitting in public." what's next, chop off a hand for theft? That's one way to stop crime. There's also the way that works, but hey...

Unless you have been living in Singapore (which in this case, I must assume you don't), there is a perfectly good reason for my policy of protecting taxi drivers which is this: There has been a recent spate of cases where passengers deliberately avoid paying their fares when their journey is complete or they inflict physical harm on these people. Now there surely is nothing wrong with protecting the rights of these people now is there?

As for my other points on banning and criminalizing homosexuality, I am curious as to why you are singling me out over this matter, there are other supposedly ridiculous proposals being floated around, but why mention me?

Banning opposition political parties is again based on my own personal political convictions. There are plenty of other individuals who also believe in one-party rule.

The death penalty for sex offenders is something which may or may not work but I don't suppose you have a better idea as to clamping down on sexual crimes do you? Then again, I could instead amend it to banning pornography but you're going to lean on me because of that.

The point on the outlawing of the usage of drugs is, I admit, vague at most. I can amend it to include "except for medical use" because the usage of drugs like Cocaine or Heroin for casual use is plain wrong because those things kill.

Bringing in of drugs like Cocaine and Heroin is dangerous because these drugs kill, wreck finances and families as well. Now don't spoon-feed this silly little clap-trap about freedom of choice because I don't buy it. The bringing in of dangerous substances is a crime, plain and simple.

Littering and spitting are uncouth and uncivilised and the current penalties in place are not effectively deterring other people from doing it. So, a change must be facilitated even if it may seem barbaric.

Now I admit that my other proposals may seem vague and ambiguous but I have no intention of writing a HUGE three-page essay. That is for political parties and politicians to do.

Now I don't understand why you have a problem with my proposals, they are simply a representation of my beliefs. Why don't you single out other people for their illogical proposals? If you have a problem then don't visit this panel for goodness sake.

Saw yours first. For the record, everyone else who also believes in banning homosexuals etc is a nonce who should feel bad about themselves.

Banning drugs will do nothing but make it more profitable. Don't see why it's your right to tell other people they're not allowed to hurt themselves.

Death penalty for sex offenders will just make most rapes rape-murders.

Banning the opposition results in either revolution or becoming a shit tip a la the eastern bloc/north fucking korea.

I understand fines for littering, but nobody has a right to hit anybody else aside from self defense.

Ahuh singapore also has a healthy natural resource sector and that's allowed them to go mental on their population. Not good anyway.

Not really. Families pay for funerals.

Yeah generally when people break the law you lock them up for their safety and the safety of any potential victims, then release them when professionals have declared they are not a risk to public safety.

Fairly sure they have offshore oil. Even then, they're a bunch of dicks who treat people like animals.

Yeah, thanks to continuing political violence and nobody really giving a fuck about them in Ivory Coast's case, and a series of natural disasters followed by the implosion of their economy in Haiti's.

And therefore, to help their poor families, stop these people from hurting themselves.

And who's to say they won't re-offend again? How can you be so sure that after they are released, they won't commit it again?

I can't help but laugh myself hoarse when I read this: Fairly sure they have offshore oil. No offence but you really need to boost your general knowledge. We have no natural resources, except for people. Yeah these people who "treat people like animals" have ensured that I can walk the streets in the middle of the night without fear of being robbed/raped/beaten. That I can live in a nice clean home. Yeah, I have these people to thank for that.

Because if it is, I'm probably going to say something mean and contrary just to contradict the majority.

This nation is now IC-ly known as the Teutonic Reich.

Some nebulous "help" to families by barring peoples ability to put things into their own bodies isn't really worth it.

Medical professionals. Recidivism is low in countries like Norway that actually practice rehabilitation, but don't let that stop you from going on a killing spree.

Yeah, a totalitarian state is generally going to be shit regardless of economy. Telling people they're not allowed to have gum or walk sideways on a wednesday is more stupid than proper.

Fill in these sections

Economic issues: Meaning the economy, issues relating to the financial system, etc.
Domestic issues: Issues within the country, including the environment and natural resources, the government, religion, personal freedom, etc.
Foreign issues: International or local, your call

I'll go first, representing Israel:

Economic issues:
- Raise taxes on the rich
- Reduce taxes on middle class
- Heavily tax large corporations
- Break up the monopolies that control most of the country's economy to increase competition
- Encourage foreign investment
- Put an end to the limit on what percent of a mortgage banks can pay
- Heavily invest in infrastructure
- Heavily invest in water solutions, eventually cut reliance on the Kineret
- Continue to invest in renewable energy, primarily solar due to Israel's location, and eventually cut reliance on oil
- Begin to research solutions for the lack of space in Israel, propose a possible "2nd floor" of roads and buildings for the urban area in the centre of Israel
- Heavily invest in increasing the internet's speed and capacity. It's time to properly connect us to the world wide web

Domestic issues:
- Legalize, regulate, and tax drugs
- Legalize, regulate, and tax prostitution
- Legalize and regulate euthanasia
- Heavily push for secularization
- Cut all religious groups out of the Knesset
- Cut all extra aid to religious groups and families, they will receive normal welfare if they need it
- Allow secular and other religious marriages, as well as same sex marriages
- Fully recognize English as a national language (so that now we have Hebrew, Arabic, and English)
- Allow prisons to use prisoners to do infrastructure work (if they are able to physically, of course)
- People who are able will work for unemployment checks
- Heavily reform education, cut religion as a class, encourage individual catering
- Reform healthcare, raise wages for doctors, fire those who are incompetent
- Reform welfare, make it more focused on providing jobs, and training people in preparation for gaining a job, heavily regulate what people can buy using welfare money
- Cut forced conscription
- Launch a massive campaign to plant greenery all over the country

Foreign issues:
- Demolish all settlements
- Heavily invest in defensive equipment, not offensive, to ensure no more rockets will hit Israel and that no more terrorists are able to get in
- After above is done, stop all attacks on the Palestinians
- Enter in to peace talks via UN, EU, and Arab League moderation
- Grant more work visas to the Palestinians
- Offer more scholarships to the Palestinians
- Initiate joint training and patrols with Palestinian military and police forces
- Heavily encourage multi-cultural shows, performances, and projects
- Negotiate with Jordan to completely open up the border for tourism
- Negotiate with Egypt to do the same
- Offer assistance to the Lebanese government to take back control of the country from terrorist groups
- Pressure the US to deal with Iran, peacefully or otherwise
- Expose all information concerning Israel's nuclear program, and sign all treaties to ensure international acceptance of Israel's nuclear program
- Sign as many free trade agreements as possible
- Sign up all extra soldiers to peacekeeping operations

Which leads to me this question (which you can add to your post as well)
Would you vote for me?

I'd vote for ya any day!

Anyway, for Canada:

Economic Issues:

-Increase Corporate Tax dramatically, and steepen progressive taxes
-Stop selling oil to the US
-Mostly close down the tar sands and nationalize what I didn't of it
-Protect the Universal Healthcare system established by Tommy Douglas
-Crack down on bank corruption
-Make it easier to qualify for unemployment insurance

Domestic Issues:

-legalize all drugs
-legalize prostitution
-legalize euthanasia
-promote artists
-bring back the long-form census
-not scrap the long gun registry, but make it easier to get a license
-lower the voting age to 16, later to 14, later 12, later make voting compulsory at 21
-start teaching about different religions in schools
-later (when people won't kill me for it) hold a referendum on becoming a republic

Foreign Policy Issues:

-get out of NATO
-push more to get Assad out of power, but not land ground troops for the moment
-invest less in the air force, give it to the navy, army and other sectors
-take some kind of diplomatic action against the Egyptian army
-pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan, for the moment at least
-NOT build the pipeline to the US
-Ask the Libyan Government if stationing troops on Libyan soil for peacekeeping purposes/observation is okay

So, would you vote for me?

Economic issues:
Raise taxes on the wealthy
Pass the Jobs Bill
Form "New Deal" programs again (revive the CCC and the like)

Domestic issues:
Not censor the internet
Grant homosexual marriage rights nationwide
Legalize marijuana (and tax the hell out of it)
Start programs in schools that teach about world cultures and religions while promoting tolerance and acceptance

Foreign issues:
Obama can keep handling that

EDIT: I'm doing this for the United States, by the way.

Since everyone else is doing this shit may as well.

Economic issues:
-Get some people together and properly fix our regulatory structure.
-Start a proper public works program to upgrade the Interstate Highway System, which is sorely outdated and overloaded with traffic, as well as local rail solutions to commute issues.
-Pave every road, rebuild every bridge, and don't stop until the numbers stabilize. Should cost about $800bn to $1tn.
-Expand the social safety net, using Germany and France as models of success in sustainable welfare states.
-Raise taxes on those who can most afford it.
-Offer loans and grants to workers' unions who vote to form a cooperative and buy their workplace.
-Full federal retraining program for those left long-term unemployed.
-Support green initiatives, especially as regards mass transit and grants for property owners for microgeneration.
-Order offshore wind farm constructions from BIW as a means to stabilize and improve the economy of Maine. Look into similar projects to help other at-risk states.
Domestic issues:
-Fully support civil rights, and do everything in my power to lean on states who infringe upon these rights.
-Crack down in the crack down on the crack down on the crackdown on the Occupy Movement.
-Add the use of drugs as a human right, follow Portugal and Netherlands as models on how to lower usage rates without making it stupidly profitable for Bad Mexicans and Evil Prison Wardens.
-Work with Mexico to properly fuck over the Zetas etc.
-When the economy is stabilized, gradually downsize the military. Keep one major station for each branch per region of interest.
-Work to break up the status quo of the military-industrial establishment, and routinely audit procurement procedure to insure the public isn't being overcharged by shitheads at Boeing/Lockheed-Martin.
-Try hard to cut our dependency on oil, to help us get off of Saudi Arabia's teat.
Foreign issues:
-Condemn human rights abuses worldwide. Support UN initiatives with more than just words.
-Cut foreign aid to states which routinely abuse their population.
-Take a firm stance against Israel and Saudi Arabia.

Well, you'd certainly need to do the last one after the first three economic policies.

oh it's angleter i wonder if he made a post in the thread

12. Privatise the Royal Mail, but ensure that competition will take root, unlike the cartelised energy sector, which would need some competition somehow injected into it.

13. Privatise the BBC on a John Lewis sort of model, enshrine its independence and neutrality in law, and replace the licence fee with a subscription payment for their services. Allow product placement on all channels (without that giant P in the corner of the screen), while still banning adverts on the BBC.

holy shit these are terrible ideas on every level what are you thinking?
