About the Tidal Surge
The Tidal Surge formation is a hybrid style that makes use of athleticism in key “flex” positions that allow the formation to ebb and flow between styles to take advantage of personnel match-ups and break opportunities. At any point in the match the Tidal Surge can more remind viewers and opponents of a 5-3-3 (most often) or a 3 4-3 (least often) but can usually be found flexing in between those extremes.
Three key positions make this formation work. The offensive midfielder with which everyone is familiar and the two hybrid positions called “UP” backs. These two positions are a direct cross between center midfielders and outside backs. These two positions use athletic ability to move up and down the pitch changing the formation to fit the needs of current needs. Thus at any one moment the formation can resemble anything from a 3-4-3 to a 3-5-2 to a 5-3-2 creating, quite nearly, the perfect positions for almost any situations.

Coaching Staff
Following a three-and out WC54 and a less than stellar CoH appearance after a failed attempt at qualifying for WC 55, a near complete overhaul of the staff and roster has been completed. It remains to be seen if this was the proper course of action but one thing is cetain - the new players should be hungry to prove themselves.

Sometimes players tend to forget just how good Mace was on the pitch. But “Mr Karaoke” was the real deal. Now it falls to him to mold the Sea Dragons into an actual world power and away from the team that just hangs out on the fringe of greatness.

Offensive Asst Mekybuje Unt'iau M 46 5’11 215
The Sea Dragons’ defensive style relies heavily on a quick strike offense to make noise. Usually the strikers receive little help and therefore must make the most of the chances they get. That did not happen in WC55 and Unt’iau was brought in from Vegan 4th Quad to make sure that it does happen for WC56. With Jonasei returning on the right he just has to look for some real consistency on the left.

Midfield Asst Nonari Em'ran'oz F 31 5’7 140
Mace dismissed the entire midfield from the squad following the debacle that was WC55 and the resulting CoH flameout. With a new set of midfielders to take on the job of controlling pace comes a new coach. Nonari made a name for herself at tiny Aeswii College for churning out pro-caliber middies. Now it falls to her to get the Sea Dragon Midfield into shape without a single player that has international experience.

Defenders Asst Kymykera Wu’eres F 35 5’6 145
The heart and soul, and only true standout player, of a mediocre defense that once was great but bad management killed the past two cups. Now Kymy can take her fiery on-pitch personality and use it to build a feared, hard-hitting, bone-crunching, defensive unit. One that any true Sea Dragon fan can be proud of.

Goalkeeper Asst Koyinii Os'ina F 29 6’5 185
Another young, talented, female coach now gets her chance to shine for the national side. With a young, untested keeper who has a massive upside, and her own starting keeper from Parthenon I&T, she has every chance to make a name for herself. Keeper has always been a trouble spot for the Sea Dragons, so it would be nice to see some real talent come and keep the sheets clean.

Built like a center back, Jonasei has turned into a commanding attacker that forces the defense to compensate against. Nearly a perfect blend of size and speed, the young forward looks to carve his own place from the shadows left by Jahirii. If play from the other side becomes consistent, Jonasei could score in bunches as he sees more defenses open up.

LS 17 Fekelii Nab’ibakii F 16 5’7 125
Ciara is gone and in steps yet another in a long line of very young, very talented, female goal scorers. Back in the old days it was Porche Alexander who made a huge name for herself across from Pablo Iglesias. Rainu Irin’Lur also filled thaty role with mixed success while accompanying Jahirii to the net. Numerous failures have also been seen. So which will be true for young Fekelii? She has a truly elite striker to run with in the form of Jonasei. Time will tell us if Mace has made the right move here.

OM 10 Kylek Ale'ack M 18 6’1 185
Kylek is a distributor from the offensive midfield who will take a shot if given proper opportunity. The high school All-Vegan plays selfless ball and is just fine with doling out assists. Experience will be the key. Look for ASMV to make sure he gets plenty of time during Friendlies.

RM 11 .Garoju An'ache M 21 6’2 180
The Midfield fell apart in the CoH last time out and thus everyone is new. An’ache is the eldest of the new players and should provide great leadership in the middle, just as he has done the past three seasons at EVU. Pace shouldn’t be a problem, even with the extra work Vegan defenders are required to absorb.

LM 29 Akaok Kapekeoa(Zirikulii) M 19 6’5 210
Most Vegans will balk initially at the fact that a Zirakulii player has been included in the starting 11 - or even on the squad for that matter. But Akaok is a brilliant player in the middle of the pitch and should win over the fans quickly. The only issue is that as a Zirakulii, Akaok refuses to wear standard kits and will take the pitch in the traditional grass skirts of his people and body paint to match the Sea Dragon kits.

RUB 13 Achoino Usk'dyn'eim M 20 6’0 175
Acho should fit nicely into Kymy’s role at Right Up-back. Never truly a defender or middie, Acho has a chance to shine in the Tidal Surge and has speed to spare when running down opposing attackers. He is a hard-nosed player who is not afraid to mix it up and yet smart enough to know when he needs to do so.

LUB 14 Nelijibii Sam'roth'oq F 18 6’0 150
Quick and agile, Nelijibii could be the answer at the Left Up-back position, She truly excels at playing the ball forward which should help the attack as it breaks quickly into action.

RB 50 Ombar Stonewall(Dwarf) M 147 4’10 140 lbs
Not only has Mace brought in a Zirakulii, he has chosen to bring in a Dwarf as well. It is the right move as the Sea Dragon defenders have gotten away from their hard-hitting defensive roots. Ombar will not have a problem in that regard as he loves to make crunching hits, when they are legal of course, on unprepared human opponents.

CB 18 Laia Un’jeru’betcii F 21 5’11 158
Adrenaline junkie who plays the game with a kamikaze fearlessness. Makes up for lack of speed with effort and style. The Sea Dragons are historically known for hard hitting defenders and Laia follows that trend to a T.

LB 54 Ozyxomidruin Lamas’Porii M 18 5’10 156
Another thug on the back line, Ozyx plays with a passion most can not match. Used sparingly in the whole WC55 nightmare, he will surely help to bring the defense back to its roots as hit first ask why later players.

K 99 Sanlioch Bez’Al M 20 6’3 242
If anyone had told Kuri’Kurii that he would have a very young, overweight, mouthy, attitude case of a reserve keeper when World Cup 55 qualifiers got underway he would have laughed in their face. Yet that is exactly the case. The reason? That very young, overweight, mouthy, attitude case of a reserve keeper allowed only one goal during the month of trials to make the squad. Not only that, but when told “Go home. You won’t be trying out this time.”, Sanlioch strode onto the pitch, asked Ki’seru politely to move out of the way, and proceeded to stop the next 22 shots from the Sea Dragon starting forwards. Could this be a reincarnation of legendary Sea Dragon Keeper Shaun Conarky? Hmmm… Mace obviously thinks so as Sanlioch has been given the starting position for WC56.

Undodhen has proved to be a steady and reliable keeper for the national team, though prone to the occasional howler. It is likely this proneness that has kept Undodhen from moving to a larger squad either domestically or abroad and could be a reason for Dart to finally get his chance between the woodwork.

After becoming a folklore hero for the lower class of the world, va Drake has made himself one of the living legends of the game after help leading the side to a title in World Cup 53. He has traveled far and wide while plying his trade, donning kits for no less than four countries clubs, and finally returned him when he signed with United before last season. Seen as the driving force in the middle of the park alongside Hawk, it is up to the opposition to try and figure out how to deal with the brilliance the winger and his other attackers have rather than them to create magic.

Durosa is one of those players that can play just about any position, as her skill set is vast and adequate in multiple areas. She has done exceptionally well in her CMSC seasons, nabbing goals and assists with regularity and has continued with her transfer to the Cafundeu league. Her good knowledge of va Drake's typical playing patterns has made the two to be a devastating pair for the opposition to contain.

A strong and physical player who uses his body well when shielding off opposing players off the ball. Lacks the pace of some of the squad but is great at keeping possession and finding an outlet pass.

Weight: 163 lbs
Soldarian continues to live in the shadow of more well known players both on the national team and with his club. Despite this, Soldarian is seen by all on the squad as the emotional leader and the linchpin the in the middle that allows the more attacking minded midfielders being allowed to play their game.

Hearts is an out and out goalscorer who has a nose for the goal and a talent for getting open even in a crowded box. His skills work quite well with the skill set of Fresco, and it produces a lethal one two strike force that will put fear into the hearts of those teams that must face a proud Marauders squad.

GK:
1-Antonio Alvarez (will be 33 years old)-The reliable goalkeeper. Quick on his feet, he is good at preventing goals even before the player shoots. Sometimes does careless mistakes. A Cup of Harmony champion, Tsilevich's and the nation's confidence in him has gone up considerably.
2-Evan Richards (will be 19 years old)- Took the #2 spot after Roderick's retirement. At age 19, he was awarded the Golden Glove award in the PAP league, showing that he has potential. He's known to collapse against big teams, and he is a bit shaky when stopping free kicks. His ability to handle crosses and corner kicks has earned him national recognition.

Defense:
7- Andrew Stone (will be 31 years old)-He has since graduated to the full squad, proved to be an excellent defender and this is his third World Cup.
6- Micheal Rent(will be 33 years old)-A product of the Youth Program, he has proven to be an excellent defender.
8- Rick Martin (will be 32 years old)- He is very confident and fast. Many see him as the future of PAP defense and has replaced Michael Rent.
15-Rafael Herrera (will be 34 years old)-His advanced age doesn't stop him from being able to catch up and stop attackers from getting near the box. His speed has yet to decline. His fitness has been known to go down randomly and he has become injury prone.

Substitutes-
3- Raul Alonso (20 years old)- Another youngster Tsilevich brought along to watch. He's quiet and known to concentrate on his defending work. He is known for his ability to run for a long time without fatigue. Newspapers have picked him to be the new leader of PAP defense
4- Anthony Sanchez (21 years old)- Yes, he is the son of coach Steven Sanchez. His specialty is blocking shots with his body. He has the ability to play LB, LCB and he has played as a LWB before. His speed helps him run down the wings easily, but just like Ramos, he sometimes forgets he is a defender.

Midfield:
12- Samuel Taylor (will be 31 years old)- Fast and intelligent. His shots aren't very accurate, so he decides to pass more.
10- Robert Figo (will be 34 years old)- An excellent dribbler and is fast. His shots are very accurate. Good leader.
14- Javier Zepeda (will be 30 years old)- Enthusiastic and fast.

Substitutes:
11- Christopher Mendolvski (22 years old)- He has since matured and changed team since his Cup of Harmony call up, but his stats remain the same. He comes back with a 19 assist and 3 goals season. He could easily replace Mendoza or Figo when the time comes.
16- Owen Wright-Campbell (21 years old)- Quietest, and probably the most shy person in the league. But when it comes to playing the game though, he's not afraid to show off what he has. His incredible speed along with his deadly crossing/through passing makes him a crucial player when it comes to assists.

Fowards:
20- Alberto Fierro (17 years old)- At 17, Fierro becomes the youngest person to debut for PAP in any tournament. He replaces Zizi, and they both share similar abilities. Fierro assists equally as much as he scores (last season: 22 assists, 6 goals) while Fierro has shown that, given the chance, he can be a high scorer (top scorer in the PAP Cup). He is overall an excellent footballer, and what better place to showcase them but the World Cup?
21- Alexander Tullotrilli (21 years old)- His abilities have remained as impressive as ever. His eye for goal has gotten better, scoring 25 times for his club last season and assisted 10 times. He has replaced the legendary Francisco Gonzalez, and Tsilevich has revealed his plans to shape him into the world class footballer that Gonzalez was.
24- Hugo Mendoza (will be 30 years old)- One of the best players in the last Cup of Harmony, he scored 3 times and assisted about half the goals. Undisputed starter for both club and country, and captain of the former, Aira is blessed with stunning reflexes and a leaping ability unlike any other. A commanding goalkeeper, he rarely suffers from miscommunication. The only thing that could be held against him is his tendency to rush off his line more recklessly than he should, but when his defense holds this is rarely a problem.

#14 - LB - Yuango Mendiola - Age 29 - Iturributa United – 42 caps
Astograth suffered on its left flank for a long time, with inconsistent performances costing the places of several defenders. That was until Mendiola stepped in. Strong, fast and committed, he has been crucial in Iturributa United's past two league titles. Passing isn't his strong suit, but since he usually only plays short passes to Belarte or the other defenders it isn't much of an issue.

#18 - CB - Petrigai Mendiroz - Age 28 -

Internazcionale Eliodoro – 56 caps, 2 goals
Off the pitch his head may be in the clouds, but on it this man is utterly focused on preventing goals. Three seasons in the highly offensive Erathi league have tempered him to be adept at stopping skilled strikers, and his partnership with Erburu is formidable.

#2 - CB - Milian Erburu - Age 29 - Ituraitz FC – 60 caps, 1 goal
The captain of Ituraitz FC, Erburu is also the de facto leader of the Astograthian defense. His tackling ability is excellent and his anticipation too, always knowing where to be in order to intercept the cross or steal the ball from the striker's feet. Tall and burly, he commands respect.

#5 - RB - Elatzar Orbizo - Age 28 -

Yastrabi – 56 caps
A gifted full-back, Orbizo is probably the fastest player in the squad, and he couples it with solid dribbling that allows him to reach the opponent's box if he so chooses. His poor passing and shooting keep him from taking on the role of a winger, though, and when made to defend he is lacking in height, strength and such basic defensive skills as marking.

#11 - LM - Urgutz Belarte - Age 23 -

Atlético Central – 59 caps, 3 goals
Once considered Astograth's next big thing, he was unable to demonstrate his class in the Albundanian league. Now in the prestigious Primeirona, Belarte brings to the table his repertoire of tricks and dribbles, which combine with his precise crosses to make him a very dangerous man down the left wing. Though he doesn't often cut into the box, when he does his carefully placed shots are a challenge for even the best keepers.

#6 - CM - Inguma Sapano - Age 23 -

Shadows – 8 caps
Taking over from the iconic Edorta Urrustoy is no easy task, but Sapano is still young and has plenty of confidence in himself. Much like his retired predecessor, he is tireless and capable of unleashing a thunderous shot, but unlike Urrustoy his temperament is much more controlled and his passing more incisive. Conversely, he isn't nearly as proficient at tackling and covering space.

#10 - RM - Itzeder Unzueta - Age 23 -

Therakham – 11 caps, 3 goals
Shockingly, Treko has decided to bench the experienced Egerdi Bordato in favour of this young winger following his performances in the Cup of Harmony, the Brotherhood Cup and the third Market Cup, which included an incredible hat-trick over North Chicanan. Despite his arrogance, Unzueta knows that this is his big chance and will do his best to not mess it up. Either way, his smart passing and shooting is sure to take him far.

#8 - AM - Estebe Bularte (C) - Age 32 - Iturributa United – 68 caps, 3 goals
The captain. By far the most respected, and now also the oldest, member of the squad, Bularte brings serenity to a team that is often rash and hot-headed. A key member of the Astograthian league champions, he plays killer through balls to the strikers and can also shoot from outside the box with surprising accuracy.

#7 - CF - Dei Ormache - Age 28 -

SK Franz Josef City – 70 caps, 15 goals
One of the most prolific scorers in the Polarian league and the only man to have played in every single one of the national team's matches. Ormache is a poacher, pure and simple. Short and slow, yet a good header, shooter and dribbler. Somehow always manages to find a way to score from the most unlikely positions, which makes him as reliable as they come.

#9 - CF - Soter Sarlange - Age 24 -

CR Submiria – 61 caps, 24 goals
Ormache's perfect partner since they were league champions at Ituraitz FC, Sarlange is a rude, egocentric striker who relies on his speed and height to score with amazing frequency, enough for him to be the national team's top scorer. Recently transferred to Cafundelense side CR Submiria after being the Astograthian league's top scorer for three seasons running.

Substitutes:
#13 - GK - Cheru Larretape - Age 23 - Royal Rumiatzi – 13 caps
Having matured in goal at club level and mostly solved his previous issues with handling, Larretape is still forced to sit on the bench due partly to his low height (1.73m) and partly due to his persistent problems in cutting crosses. His reflexes, arguably better than Aira's, are not enough for Treko.

#23 - GK - Lapurdi Abaitua - Age 28 -

FC Cape Saint Paul – 1 cap
Abaitua doesn't give up on his hopes to one day be a starter, and transferred to the Polarian league to look for a challenge for this very reason. His dedication is remarkable, but it looks very unlikely.

#3 - LB - Gorri Mendizko - Age 24 - South Factory – 3 caps
Strong and a bit reckless in his tackles, Mendizko can be deployed on either flank to considerably bolster the defense, but doesn't provide the kind of offensive power Treko prefers in his full-backs.

#16 - CB - Ubelteso Adin - Age 24 - Royal Rumiatzi – 23 caps, 1 goal
One of Royal Rumiatzi's most consistent players, Adin is considered the successor to Erburu due to his level head and great anticipation. One to watch, for sure.

#4 - CB - Sotil Burruchaga - Age 22 - Sporting Iturributa – 5 caps
A product of Sporting's prolific school of defenders, he has adapted to the Chevrons' first team without a problem and makes his presence felt with size and grit. He's not fast at all, but he often doesn't need to be.

#15 - RB - Benat Uranga - Age 22 - Ituraitz Victory – 10 caps
An exciting player from the mid-table Victory, Uranga is a fast and capable dribbler reminiscent of a younger Orbizo, but who can actually pass the ball.

#17 - LM - Soter Larreaga - Age 24 - Urbizania Wanderers – 9 caps, 1 goal
Larreaga, considered one of the weakest players in the squad by the press, has performed well enough at Wanderers to earn a few call-ups to the team. His unforgettable goal against Erathore in the Brotherhood Cup is sure to have silenced some voices clamoring for his removal.

#22 - CM - Garin Alea - Age 28 -

Matarazi – 34 caps, 1 goal
Alea, dropped from the squad after World Cup 55, makes a return due to Edorta Urrustoy's retirement. Deprived of a starting spot, he can still be called upon to act as muscle in the middle of the pitch.

#20 - RM - Egerdi Bordato - Age 28 - Ituraitz FC – 59 caps, 4 goals
Bordato is not a happy man. A starter ever since the national team's debut, he now seems himself sent to the bench in favour of Unzueta. Treko's reasoning is solid, though: besides being the team's set-piece specialist, Bordato didn't deliver as much as he could on the pitch.

#12 - AM - Otz Lasuen - Age 21 - Ituraitz Victory – Uncapped
The only uncapped member to be called up for the World Cup, and the youngest alongside Nanklares. Having played two Di Bradini Cups and several league seasons with both Victory and Echegoyan FC, he has consolidated himself as a viable alternative to the ageing Bularte. He exhibits the same playmaking ability and, above all, the same calm demeanor Treko prizes in his players.

#19 - CF - Tipi Nanklares - Age 21 - Iturributa United – 5 caps, 1 goal
Provocative. If there was one word to describe Nanklares, that would be it. He's taken a liking to riling up the opposing fans and players on the back of his great scoring ability, which has earned him a good few needless red cards.

#21 - CF - Gaur Arambilet - Age 31 -

Vincanto – 20 caps, 4 goals
A good alternative to both Ormache and Sarlange, Arambilet has an extremely powerful and precise right foot, in addition to a strong header, to make up for his lack of speed.

Sigh. It's been too long... we were world champions before many of these other nations were born (probably). Yep, we're that hipster.

Once sitting proudly at the top of the tree, the Aroras now have to work their way from the very bottom. So how are they going to do it? Get plenty of bodies behind the ball, stifle the other team and try to sneak a goal on the counter-attack?

Of course not - we're Bettia! We don't do defence!

Despite the prospect of leaking a ridiculous amount of goals, the management and top brass at the Football Association of Bettia (FAB) are staying true to their Takilan roots and bringing the ultra-attacking football that made Bettia the force it once was. Except this time, it'll be even more ultra than before with a new 1-5-4 formation (they were originally planning on a 0-6-4, but they decided to keep a single defender so commentators don't get confused).

Unfortunately, the average Bettian still suffers from a debilitating fear of red, so visiting teams and supporters are kindly requested not to wear that most vile of colours. All home matches are played at the 102,000 capacity Stadiwm Parc Tiddles, which has a combination of seats and terracing.

Experience: This will be Cosumar's 6th World Cup. Cosumar qualified and advanced past group stage in World Cups 54 and 55. A nearly perfect qualifying campaign in World Cup 55 has boosted Cosumar's ranking to an all time high at 21st in the world.

Ranking: #21

Team: The roster consists of 20 players, 17 of which are human. The remaining 3 are Vloo, a human-like species native to Cosumar.

The Starting XI

GK Jude Adjei-Kontoh (31)
Adjei-Kontoh is an extremely gifted athlete with excellent body control, a level head, and exceptional instinctive reflexes. He is very passionate about soccer and is one of the more outspoken members of the team. Adjei-Kontoh has been Team Cosumar's starting goalkeeper for 10 years, since World Cup 51.

DF Thomas Hair (30)
Hair is a quiet man who only comes alive on the field. His speed is average, but he consistently displays excellent footwork and awareness skills. He is also known for being a selfless player, always finding the right man to pass to. Hair, too, has been on the team for 10 years, since World Cup 51. Now, he has the responsibility of Defense Team Captain.

DF William Riley (24)
Riley is a young soccer phenomenon from Cirdaw, Cosumar. He came straight out of high school to play professional football 6 years ago and has had no trouble playing with the cream of the crop. He is a tad undersized but makes up for it with unmatched speed, vision, and footwork. He has received offers from clubs in multiple international leagues, but has opted to stay in Cosumar. Riley is, at the moment, probably the most talented on the team at his position.

DF Kennedy Kopenhaver (31)
Kopenhaver is infamous in Cosumar for being one of the most passionate and fiery players the game has ever seen. He'll stop it nothing to win, even if it means a red card, which he receives all too often. But when Kopenhaver isn't letting his emotions get the best of him, he is an extraordinary talent. It takes a lot to get a goal in past Kopenhaver.

DF Cedir Na'Draughn (22)
Na'Draughn is the new to the starting line up after being a reserve in World Cup 55. He is also one of the three Vloo members on the team. Na'Draughn is an intimidating figure at nearly 6"4, with some great moves. His only downfall is his tendency to hesitate and miss opportunities, but Cedir has already improved at this tremendously since World Cup 55.

MF Irvinn Rincon (33)
Irvinn Rincon has been the Team Captain since it's debut in World Cup 51. He has entered his 30s, but he still has the same tenacity and passion as always. Even at 33, he is among the world's elite midfielders, and is one of Cosumar's premiere players of all time. Rincon has developed every area of his game and lacks a true weakness. He will give opposing coaches nightmares all Cup long.

MF Brian Emerson (28)
Emerson is the smallest player on the team, however, he makes up for it for being deceptively quick and physical. He is also one of the most intelligent athletes on the roster and always finds ways to trick unaware opponents and exploit weaknessses. At 28, he still has enough gas in the tank for a few more years.

FW Rikki Varshney (28)
Varhsney is probably the team's greatest asset. He has led Cosumar in goals in every World Cup he has participated in. He knows how to put the ball in the goal, and will find the net in almost every game. Although he plays in the Cafundeu domestic system, Varshney is a patriotic Cosumarite and is desperate for a World Cup victory.

FW Luke Crisalus (25)
Luke Crisalus is Cosumarite royalty, little brother of the Baroness of Crisalus Fief. He is also nephew of the Chiefess of Foreign Relations. His high-up government connections are not the sole reason he is on the team, however, as he was Cosumar's second leading scorer in World Cups 54 and 55. He is a crafty player and who excels in creating good shots for himself out of nothing. Although he often misses critical passes, his scoring ability is second to none but Varshney.

FW Jakk Klyde (27)
Jakk Klyde is a phenomenal athlete who has reached a celebrity status in Cosumar. He is on Cosumar's World Cup Team, World Bowl Team, and International Basketball Championships team. Although he only plays basketball season-to-season in Cosumar's domestic leagues, his soccer skills are simply too good to pass up. Although his kicking accuracy is at times shaky, he has a powerful leg and unmatched athleticism.

FW Kalvin Feldman (25)
Feldman was a reserve in World Cup 53 at age 19 and in World Cup 54 at age 21. In the last World Cup, however, Manager Crowley took a gamble and moved young Feldman to the starting XI. Feldman did not disappoint and nearly matched Luke Crisalus' goal total. At age 25, Feldman is still young and very quick despite his stocky stature. He has excellent aim when shooting on the goal.

The Reserves

GK Pablo Reyes (25)
In the last two years, Reyes has emerged as one of the true stars of the Fiefdom Soccer Federation as the goalie for Mallox. He has speedy reflexes like you've never seen before but is a bit inexperienced. He is poised to take the starting goalie position in World Cup 57, as Adjei-Kontoh is at the tail-end of his prime.

DF Gundar Umpton (21)
Umpton made his debut in World Cup 55 as a reserve. When given the opportunity, he played fairly well and was thought to be shoe-in for the starting XI this year. However, the coaches noted extraordinary improvement from Cedir Na'Draughn, and Na'Draughn was awarded with the final starting spot. Although, Umpton is but 21 years old and another year as a reserve will foster even further development. He has the skills necessary to be a starter in the near future.

DF Joel Novamo (31)
Novamo is a seasoned veteran who has no shortage of World Cup experience, this being his sixth. Novamo is the tallest man on the team at 6"4 and is known for his long blond hair, making him a striking figure on the field. He has a very strong leg that can boot the ball the length of the field. At 31, this may be his final World Cup with the team, only time will tell.

DF Alexander Pearce (18)
Pearce recently completed his senior year of high school, and elected to immediately jump to professional soccer. Pearce looks poised to become the next William Riley. Although he is young, he is just as skilled as anyone else on the team and has received much hype from Cosumarite media. MF Teemu Koponen (30)
Koponen is a proud Scandinavian man who undoubtedly has the strongest leg on the team. Legend has it he kicked a ball so hard it popped, but most of the time, he just sends it hurling down the field, often scoring from midfield. He is quite slow, but when he gets the ball nothing can stop him.

MF Abel Scarloff (18)
Scarloff recently completed his senior year of high school, and elected to immediately jump to professional soccer. Scarloff, like Pearce, looks poised to become the next William Riley. Although he is young, he is highly skilled and has received much hype from Cosumarite media. Being a reserve in this World Cup will be a valuable learning experience for Pearce.

FW Corey Simmons (26)
This will be Simmons' second World Cup, after an impressive World Cup 55, but inexperience is not an issue. He has been Kaldukosk FC's leading scorer for 4 seasons and should quickly become one of the most feared strikers on the Cosumarite squad. Although he is a reserve, he gets almost as much playing time as a starter, as Manager Crowley loves to substitute him in to throw the opposition's defense off balance, as Simmons is a destructive force at Forward.

FW Norbert Na'Shon (32)
Na'Shon, a Vloo, is the second of three non-humans on the team. He is tremendously strong and is a corner-kick specialist, however, many fans say he has lost a step with age since his fabulous play as a starter in World Cups 53 and 54. The coaches still think he has a lot left in the tank though, and it is without question that Na'Shon is still an upper echelon striker.

FW Fobi Na'Leus (22)
Na'Leus, a Vloo, is the third of three non-humans on the team. Na'Shon serves as Na'Leus' mentor, as Na'Leus is a young talent that needs much guidance. Na'Leus is inconsistent and erradic, at times magnificent and at times sloppy. He will not play much in this World Cup.

Coaching Staff and Team Captains

Manager: Farris Crowley

After a phenomenal debut as Manager in World Cup 54, and an even more impressive sophomore effort in World Cup 55, Farris Crowlley has returned to lead the Dragons towards greatness in World Cup 56. Crowley was a somewhat successful player in Cosumar's domestic league many years ago and has since taken to coaching. He is currently 45 years of age and has a very stoic personality most of the time.

Assistant Manager: Randy Lewis

Randy Lewis has been an iconic figure in Cosumarite football for decades. Many years ago he was a famed striker for Eastweald. He retired and became a head coach at age 40. He held that position for 22 years. He then retired at age 62 and disappeared from the public eye. Many thought he was dead. At 74, he returned to assist former manager Barry Feldman with World Cup 52 and has held the job since. There are concerns about his ability to coach effectively given his age, however, the players have stood by him. Mr. Lewis recently announced that World Cup 56 would be his last.

Kit

These are Cosumar's uniforms for World Cup 56, made for the team by Barrengeka Kits of Astograth. The uniform has been applauded by fans and the media, featuring Cosumar's national colors: silver and navy blue as well as the Cosumarite Azure Dragon, the symbol of Cosumar. The keeper's uniform is gold and green, the royal family's colors. They are the same kits the team used in World Cup 55.

Get ready for the heartbreak to begin again. New manager Michel Carbonnier, the legendary player, has taken over the reins of the Cotdelapoms national team, and he's decided to feature lots of new faces, many of whom are domestic under Fédéfoot's new efforts to strengthen Série A. Gone are Thierry Junot, Rodrigo Lopez, François Michalak and many of the old guard. In are some peculiar choices, like François Cyr, Renato Jefferson and Fréd Bilodeau of Nova Cambrian powers Stephen of August. This is the full squad list Carbonnier is expected to choose from, although it is in depth chart form, so the higher up the more likely they are to play.

Cotdelapoms will likely use a 3-5-2, 4-1-4-1 or 4-6-0 formation under Carbonnier. He's been telling the media he is going to try different formations to see what works with the personnel. Players in the Errinundera’s NationStates World Cup 56 national squad (aka the potoroos, the longfoots or the gorillas) are selected from teams belonging to the Errinundera Football Association.

The white "Potoroo" strip is use for all games except away games where the home side has a significant portion of white in its strip. The "Bola Mine" alternative strip is used in its place in these instances. If necessary, the green strip is used. The grey "Bark" strip is worn by the Potoroo goalkeeper. The uniforms are made by volunteers from the Textile Workers Union.

(IMPORTANT: use the names in BOLD of my players when writing your RPs [if they are involved], please, as these are the names that they use when playing [the names in their shirts], don’t use their full name [unless it is the bolded one], as most have big full names and the Cafundelenses use nicknames exactly due to this situation. This and the observation below are the only 2 things that I ask about this issue)

(IMPORTANT 2: please do not write the names of my players in all capitals, this is important for me too. When writing a name of one of my players in your RP, write like you would write a name for any other player [don’t forget to use the one in bold]. 1- CLESTON Castanheira Figueira (Team: Clube Comercial)
Height: 181cm - Weight: 93kg – Age: 34 years old
Not exactly a tall goalkeeper by Cafundelense standards, and a bit fat by the usual standards involving footballers, Cleston surely is a curious player. No one may imagine that this man is such a great goalkeeper, until they see him playing. His jumps are tremendously high and precise, and he has very good reflexes. His only flaw is on leaving the goal to intercept crossings, something he is still training in order to improve. But, in general, an excellent goalkeeper who is certainly one of Clube Comercial’s leaders. And it is always impressive to see a somewhat fat man making great jumps!

12- Carlos PETROVIC (Team: CR Submiria)
Height: 182cm – Weight: 77kg – Age: 27 years old
It is rare for a player for a mid-table team to reach the National Team and not be questioned, but when this player is ranked amongst the best goalkeepers of the Primeirona for two consecutive seasons, this is not a surprise. Carlos Petrovic has been considered the main responsible for his team's growth in the Cafundelense league, thanks to his solid performances and his impressive long passing abilities. He is able to start counterattacks of his own from goal kicks or after a save. Defensively speaking, he is a very secure goalkeeper, but he really shines offensively: not only he is good for starting attacks, he can also take free kicks and penalty kicks very well.

22- RONALDO Hera Gouveia (Team: Dunboor FC)
Height: 190cm - Weight: 93kg – Age: 30 years old
A goalkeeper who has always found it difficult to establish himself in a club for a long time, and for different reasons: injuries, the arrival of a bigger name, a bad performance in a season and, as it has just happened, a good performance in a season followed up by the call-up to the National Team. Now in Dunboor, Ronaldo joins another club and wishes to stay there, just like he will want to stay in the NT. He is a solid goalkeeper, who is far from eccentric and likes to just get the job done. But sometimes he gets a bit distracted, especially when the game is boring, and these are the moments when he can make a mistake.

Right Defenders:

2- MAURÍCIO Jamelão Docas (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 168cm - Weight: 61kg – Age: 32 years old
A big transfer was all that Maurício needed to be noted. He wasn't in a bad club, but A.F.F.'s moment was so bad that the club got relegated, sending him to Cafundó do Juta. There, he helped the team to reinvent itself. Maurício is a balanced player between offence and defence, and is really good at sliding tackles, hardly hitting the opponent player instead of the ball. Also, he is very intelligent when setting up counterattacks, and can easily spot an opportunity like that one.

Height: 175cm – Weight: 69kg – Age: 24 years old
Not a highly-rated player of the current squad, Chaves is a fine defensive player, and a good option for a right full-back when you need to secure a result. He isn't very good in supporting the offence, even though his crossings are pretty good, but works well defensively, with great marking and tackling abilities. Due to this, he sometimes even works as a central defender for his domestic club. Outside the pitch, Chaves is a very funny guy, making jokes about his team mates and sharing them with the media. But he also has a dark side: had some problems with drugs, and does not have a good relationship with his family.

Extremely fast, Esquerdinha is a full-back more focused on the offence, and can have some difficulties in defending. He is the one to send the ball to when you want to make a turbo counterattack, easily linking the defensive area to the offensive one. Esquerdinha is also very famous for being a good free-kick taker, being able to take set pieces with technique or strength, depending on the situation, and he does well both styles. His only problem is that he is not a very disciplined player, and this also happens outside the pitch: spends fortunes in huge parties even when he isn’t allowed to by his coach.

Height: 175cm – Weight: 75kg – Age: 27 years old
An extremely versatile defender, who can play as a full-back on both sides of the pitch and may even work as a central defender, Solano’s main ability is in stopping the opponents: he can easily predict the next movement of the opponent attacker and tackle him. He is also very fast, so can fight against the most agile opponents. Unfortunately he isn’t as good on the offence, preferring to send the ball to a more technical player when the team has to attack. But he has a strong shot and may attempt to score sometimes. As a person, Solano is extremely quiet, and avoids the media as much as possible.

Height: 175cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 24 years old
Another promising talent of a generation that won two Di Bradini Cups, Wellington is now a starter for Clube Comercial and a natural choice for the National Team of Cafundéu. Usually a Cafundelense defender is very strong and even violent or technical and quick, but Wellington manages to be a mix of these two styles. He is strong, but cautious when closing an attacker. He only becomes violent when provoked, but when this happens he makes it sure to provoke his offender back, so if he loses his temper his opponent will lose it too. Overall, a different defender who is very valued by his club.

4- Tomé Jamolli "CATIMBA" (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 192cm - Weight: 88kg – Age: 26 years old
Catimba is a true representative of a tough and violent defender. Tall, he is the main defensive weapon of the team during free kicks and corner kicks, and may sometimes help the attack with his headers. Strong, can easily defeat opponents by only touching them with more strength, although he can use his force for more nasty moves, such as violent fouls. But his main characteristic is one: he is an expert at provocating opponents and pressuring the referee, and his talent in these mind games is always explored. Since most of his team mates suffered with this one time or another during their careers, he isn’t much liked by the other members of the squad.

Height: 180cm – Weight: 85kg – Age: 25 years old
A ferocious defender, Adão isn't one who is prone to go to the attack or even contribute in some way to the offence, unless the team is a need of someone to head the ball in corner kicks: in this case, he even does a decent job and can score goals. But his true ability is in defending: he tackles well, marks like a evil spirit and has a natural leadership, organizing the defence. Too bad that his leadership is imposed through terror, and he is always complaining of his team mates and criticizing them, also shouting a lot at the referee and opposing players, which can put him into all kinds of trouble.

23- Hernán Pereyra "PARAGUAIO" (Team: CR Submiria)
Height: 172cm – Weight: 70kg – Age: 23 years old
Not a name approved by most supporters from Cafundéu, Paraguaio is a curious defender. Very calm and gentle, he hardly is booked or even commits fouls. He looks very serene during the entire match, waiting for the right moment to challenge the opponent and take the ball from him. He is also very nice with all players on the field, with his team mates and with fans and the press, and it is practically impossible to dislike him, as he is so humble and honest. Son of foreigner parents, he has some strange taste for food and traditions, which come from his family.

5- BINO Cabras Passadas (Team: Cafundó do Juta)
Height: 165cm – Weight: 62kg – Age: 30 years old
This is the generation of world class defensive midfielders for Cafundéu, and the existence of Bino only proves this fact. He is someone who can be considered a genius kid, who since youth was able to command a squad and play like an experienced professional. This is his best quality: maturity and ability to resist the pressure at the same time that he plays some quality football. Bino is a very serious player who doesn't react well to jokes, and got involved in fights because of that. He also is very suspicious of other people, even his friends. Returning to the playing pitch, Bino is an excellent marker, and will be the one to mark the playmaker of the opponent squad.

15- Anderson Nascimento Ezio "RUGROSSO" (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 182cm – Weight: 86kg – Age: 27 years old
In Ranca Toco, Rugrosso makes a perfect partnership with Rufino: while one connects midfield and attack nicely with good passing ability and technical accuracy, the other is the guardian dog of the team stopping opponents via violence or not. Reaching the National Team thanks to his participation in this successful duo, Rugrosso will surely enter in matches that need someone like him: one to stop anyone from getting closer to the attack when the team is winning, or even to make some dirty move. He is excellent at controlling the ball too, so can be used to waste time. Curiously, Rugrosso isn’t a rude or violence person outside the pitch, and has never gotten involved in confusions.

Height: 171cm - Weight: 71kg – Age: 24 years old
Few people really give him the recognition he deserves for his work, because he hardly scores goals or makes wonderful moves. But Raimundo Nonato, in SC Lasft, is the man that supports all the midfield of that team, being the responsible for the start of many offensive moves and for the success of many defensive strategies. Hardly noticed for those who tend to look only for goalscorers and master tricksters, the presence of Raimundo is what makes their beautiful moves possible, as without him the ball would never reach them. At least the Cafundelense coach sees the talent of Nonato, and called him to the NT, where he can continue his tough but essential work in a football match.

7- Edgar Gomes RUFINO (Team: Ranca Toco)
Height: 179cm – Weight: 72kg – Age: 26 years old
Extremely technical, this midfielder usually plays in a defensive role, impressing everyone who would expect a tough guard in that position. Rufino beats his opponents with intelligence, managing to take the ball from them with style, and easily setting up counterattacks. Due to his lack of strength, he plays together with a stronger team mate in the midfield, and in club level he has Rugrosso as partner. While one is the toughest one, Rufino is the one who knows how to play good football. Rufino also got a degree in philosophy, and loves to transform his interviews in philosophy lessons, forcing the reporters to be cautious when asking questions to him, or making them avoid questions.

Height: 169cm – Weight: 66kg – Age: 25 years old
Coming from Atlético Central, Régis had a good first season with A.F.F. and quickly became a fan favourite, catching the interest of bigger clubs. His main qualities are the positioning and his vision, something not common in Cafundelense players who seem to be better with the ball on feet. Régis is the opposite: he is a genius in off-ball characteristics, being in the right place at the right moment and spotting good goalscoring opportunities anytime. This, allied with his good long ranged passes, make him an excellent player to perform assists to the team’s strikers. But he isn’t someone to score goals.

Height: 173cm - Weight: 67kg – Age: 26 years old
A starter in the Primeirona since he was eighteen years old, Godô’s presence in the National Team was already predicted, and some fans even say that he should have been called earlier, even if he was less than twenty years old at that time. Godô’s footballing style is very offensive, working as the last link between the midfield and the attack, and also trying to score some goals. He has a powerful long shot, and also is very good at heading. But, even attempting finishes, he prefers to make assists to the attackers, and his team spirit earns him the respect of his team mates and other professionals.

A very creative midfielder, Sidmar is not a player with regular performances: one day he may be very inspired, while in the other he seems to not be feeling well. The instable humour of the player is the reason, and he is trying to solve this problem with a team of psychiatrists. Sidmar is very good at creating plays, but usually does not play in an offensive position, instead being the first player to start a offensive move. He is very good at making inventive passes. Also, he became very famous thanks to his weird ways of commemorating goals, something he often does: he likes to plan some coreography with his team mates, or jump like crazy towards the fans... but surely it will be something original.

A young star, Vinícius Oliveira’s career was never seen as a really promising one. When he first got into a National Team, for youth players, most considered him one of the weakest members of the squad, and it took some time for him to prove his value. After a DBC title and a transfer to Petardos S/A, things got better, and now people recognize the player’s talent. A very technical player, Vinícius Oliveira is a specialist at dribbling, and he will use this ability every possible time in order to reach the attack. Not a goalscorer, he is more prone to be the assist producer in the squad.

Height: 190cm – Weight: 86kg – Age: 29 years old
Participating in the U-21 squad of the Monopolists, Romergleydson proved his talent by being the lead attacker, the one naturally seen as the target man by his team mates, something that got repeated in his club. His size helps this fact, since a big player like him usually becomes the target for crossings at the area. And he knows well how to use his physical strength: uses it to stop the defenders from tackling him and also heads the ball very well, with most of his goals being scored through aerial moves. Romergleydson also got famous on television after his story was shown in a famous program: he doesn’t know his parents and was raised by a madman, who thought he was a dog.

Height: 178cm – Weight: 71kg – Age: 23 years old
Rael conquered international fame due to his participation in three editions of the Di Bradini Cup, all as a starter of the Monopolists. And, with the team reaching three finals of that competition and winning two titles with him as key player and top goalscorer, he began to be considered the wonderkid of Cafundéu. Now keeping his good performances in the Primeirona, he is the main hope of the Cafundelenses who want to see their country return to be a major force in football. Rael is a lethal striker, excellent dribbler and able to shoot the ball in any situation, even when well marked by opponents. He isn't one who is able to make wonderful moves, like dribbling five opponents or shooting from the midfield, but he is extremely efficient: he can take the ball in difficult positions and manage to score a goal from there. He also isn't very good defensively. In his daily life, enjoy movies and music a lot, and loves to talk about these themes.

18- Márcio Vadic ROSÁRIO (Team: Valengren Kickers [QPM])
Height: 175cm – Weight: 71kg – Age: 33 years old
Rosário is a player who passed through several different experiences in football. First appeared as a talented striker for São Jorge, but not one worthy to be sent to the U-21 team, especially after a serious injury which kept him out of the team for an entire season. When he got a transfer to Daehanjeiguk, many thought that this would kill his chances in the National Team. But there he played top football, scoring goals in an incredible rate. Returning to Cafundéu thanks to Samseong, helped Rio Bonito to make the team's best campaign of the history, once again scoring many goals. Then a short spell with Cafundó do Juta and now a transfer to Queer Poco El Mono Ara. And he keeps scoring. So, if he can score goals, why he can't be a member of the Cafundelense NT? And this is the mission of Rosário: use his speed and cool moves to score goals.

23- Luiz Aparecido Motta "LUIZÃO" (Team: Grêmio Lux)
Height: 187cm – Weight: 90kg – Age: 23 years old
Probably the biggest surprise of the Cafundelense National Team, Luizão wasn't seen as a top attacker until scoring many goals for Grêmio Lux during a Primeirona season, being one of the main responsible for his team's excellent campaign. Luizão is a striker who works well as a pivot or target man: doesn't run a lot, gets tired quickly, but is good at positioning himself and controlling the ball, so he can manage to stay with the ball even when the pass to him is bad, and attempt to score.

Still young thanks to his time in Sarzonia which preserved his age, Avarel was able to do wonders in Cafundéu: after coaching A.F.F., he went on to coach Ranca Toco and won one national title and the TQCC trophy! Thanks to this, he became the natural choice to be the new coach of the Monopolists. As for style, Avarel follows the praise for hard work and technical talent that his mentor Braddock has, but his training sessions are less intense. He also tends to make several adaptations on his strategies during a competition.

For this cup, as it happened in the previous one, the former captain of the NT Carlos Marossi was called, with him now being more experienced after his experience in helping the coaching triad last time. He is intended to learn more to be a home-grown coach of the NT in the future. The CCFM has no big expectations around him, wanting him to learn from the other coaches and help them whenever needed... also, they are somewhat worried that he may organize parties for the players, as this was something that he did often while he was a player.

One of the directors of Banco Econômico, and the one who wasn’t involved with anything sports-related until getting this position. C.Pinguço is in the Han Empire, Santa is handling finances all around the world, I.Newton checking negotiations in Candelaria And Marquez, D.Lama in other leagues, J.Lennon checking for investment opportunities… Banco Econômico, member of the AUGECC, had to participate in the CCFM somewhere. And they managed to include one of their directors as the NT’s administrative manager, handling the non-football aspects of the team. Santos is friendly and loves to make jokes, and loves to spend money too! Sometimes he’ll throw away money, in the form of small airplanes made of a vintém note.

During the last World Cup cycle, several rumours about the influence of the scouts and agents on the CCFM and transfers in general harmed the reputation of previous scout Mikklos Irvinz, who was asked to leave after the accusations that he was only recommending players that he managed as an agent. The replacement found by The Scout is the experienced Kledir Ramalho, who is considered part of the “old school” of scouts just like The Scout, and therefore someone not involved with agents. Ramalho is a very serious person, and likes to analyze his targets by using intrincate mathematical theories.

A genius in the physical training area, Ayala isn’t one who really stays close with the players when they are in the academy. Renan is more a consultant, someone who can easily spot the necessities of each player and what they need to do to improve they physical conditions. The training schedules made by Ayala can be completely trusted, and with his help the Monopolists will probably be in top conditions for the matches.

When the CCFM replaced the whole staff of the Cafundelense NT, people believed that finally they would get rid of Serginho Mallandro. Big mistake. Serginho left, but in his place his son, Mallandro Filho, was called. He tells the same jokes his father did, and the same phrases and funny (or at least intended to be funny) comments, as the “Glu-glu” and “Bilu-bilu tetéia” ones. The majority of the population used to love him (before his jokes became repetitive), but the players of the National Team are likely to try to assault him after each of his jokes.

She is a good doctor, and we are all sure that the CCFM hired someone who can do everything needed by a doctor involved with football, so no one will notice her much until she leaves the team.

He loves football, and got this position after begging for a whole week... now the others will have to beg for his mercy.

Former administrative manager of the National Team, Reinaldo Franco was chosen to the position of Vice-President of the CCFM by The Scout, in a much contested decision, as the former Vice-President Baron Ainer wanted to keep his position. As time passed, he got a lot of experience, having to handle the main duties of the President when The Scout was away, such as in his short experience as a coach in World Cup 53. When The Scout was elected to become the WCC President, the position of CCFM leader went to Franco, and he is doing fine, without making many changes in the organization and without mistakes.

Age: 51 years old - Time in the job: 2 years
When Franco took the position of President of the CCFM, businessman Roger Funes became the Vice-President. Therefore, the Count of Cacies, a small region in the Dunboor state, was chosen by Franco to take over this position. Experienced in handling football issues as the former chief of the Dunboor State Association, he doesn’t have the confidence of many of the other members of the CCFM, due to some controversial attitudes made in the past.
