When will the next wbc be?

WBC60 started in March, WBC61 started in August, so probably sometime early in 2026. I will be in contact with the other big American Sports (WB, IBC, WCoH) Presidents to limit the amount of overlap we get. You'll definitely see the Signup Thread linked on this thread, unless I forget.
Maybe there's some proverb about elephants and memory, I don't remember though

Lastly, an investigation is currently taking place regarding undisclosed AI use by Tikariot, which has previously been sanctioned in the World Cup, and unfortunately seems like it might have impacted the World Baseball Classic as well.

Lastly, an investigation is currently taking place regarding undisclosed AI use by Tikariot, which has previously been sanctioned in the World Cup, and unfortunately seems like it might have impacted the World Baseball Classic as well.

Given the available evidence, which includes, but is not limited to, the AI checker Pangram, as well as some observable characteristics that are anachronistic considering the stated writing process of the user,

we (WBCC president South Newlandia and WBCC vice-president Milchama) have come to the conclusion that Tikariot used generative AI in at least some roleplays between at least WBC60 and WBC62, in each case violating the specific AI regulations set out by the hosts of the three tournaments.

We would like to apologise to all teams that were defeated by or did not advance behind Tikariot, who were put at an unfair disadvantage. In order to partially correct for this, we have decided to void the Tikariotian ranking points gained at the most recent World Baseball Classic.

We considered the partial admission of cheating by Tikariot in their favour, which is why this penalty is not harsher. We welcome Tikariot's further participation in the WBC as a rule abiding user.
