Imagine you had a sleeper in a region, subverted the natives into getting elected delegate, had five days to build up Border Control officers, and any update of your choosing to take the region. Imagine you had an update bend strategy, an incredibly late updater, and the benefit of a super unstable NationStates update cycle? Surely you couldn't lose under these sensational conditions? If you're the craven raider faction, of course you can!

The Order of The Grey Wardens and our coordinated faction umbrella absolutely obliterated any attempt from Raiderdom at a comeback. The Black Hawks, taking the mantle of faction overseer from their former taskmasters in Malice, celebrated their new hold by having Lone Wolves United kiss the ring and return to the fold. Between The Black Hawks, Lone Wolves United, and all their other underlings, they were able to pull together a mere eighty-eight endorsements in a twelve hour window. In response, the defender umbrella mustered one-hundred eighty-seven total updaters including eighteen Grey Wardens. It is, once again, a record turnout for a military gameplay operation. Raiderdom lies battered and broken once more, their great comeback stuffed. To those who seek to invade, know that this is the vengeance that comes.

Our coalition pulled together a great host of new soldiers, long-time veterans, prospective and longtime independent partners, and countless mercenaries keen to join us in the fight. This victory is a continued affirmation of our unified success, and the coalition belief in breaking Raiderdom time and time again. There is no world for Raiderdom on NationStates anymore, and we are pleased to continue to bring forward this future.

The Grey Wardens, Commended

9 long years ago an Order rose up to quell the chaos. A region built on justice, courage, and an unrelenting drive for victory. A military brazenly lighting a new path through the darkness, through the blight that has always clawed its fearsome talons upon the good people of this multiverse. Wardens who feared no darkspawn, feared no scorn, who only fought to bring the Maker’s wrath upon the raiders who would leech upon the hard-toiled creations of others. And thus, The Order of the Grey Wardens was born.

Yet legend alone does not ward off evil. No, the origins of the Order lie in the hands of the few dedicated individuals who braved a storm of politics, chaos, and opposition to create one of the greatest militaries the multiverse has ever had the honor to host. A band of warriors so fierce in their devotion to end raider destruction, they took it upon themselves to directly strike back at the heart of the blight. Thus, these brave souls created the foundation for the world as we know it today, unyielding in its fight against the raiders through the good and the bad.

More than just their dedication, they created legacy. The teachings and training were passed on from warden to warden, basking the new defenders in their fighting ways. Some wardens demonstrated their prowess on the battlefield, others dedicated themselves to the leadership of the cause, more still took what they learned and spread the knowledge far and wide. Take the time to look around and you will see the work of past and present wardens everywhere, exemplifying greatness everywhere they step, their legacies seemingly without end.

It is fitting, then, that the accomplishments of the many, of the whole, be finally recognized through Commendation. To see the Order’s deeds now enshrined among the ranks of the Commended is not just an honor—it is a reminder that the work of generations endures. To see the walls of Weisshaupt still standing strong, even when so few remember them being built, is a testament to the longevity that came from the toil of the founders, the dedication of those who joined after, the hope for the future generations to continue faithfully what has been started.

To the future we now look for what else fate has in store for us, as this milestone does not mark the end. So long as the world has blight to destroy, communities to protect, and dedicated nations willing to band together for a common purpose, The Order will prevail. The Wardens have found themselves in restful peace, violent war, and stormy turmoils in the span of its existence, and inevitably it will face all these many more times. It does not matter what fate throws at us, it matters how we respond, and respond we shall.

To those who gave their time, may your rest be ever peaceful. To those who fight, may your shields stay unbreaking and your swords stay sharp. To those of the future, may you defend the innocent as your predecessors did before you. And to all those who supported the Order now and throughout the years, thank you for making this possible. We stand today not only as heirs of their legacy, but as the next bulwark against the coming storm.

The Order is pleased to announce the ratification of The Canticle of Light with our friends in Starlight!

The Grey Wardens and Starlight have enjoyed good relations and partnerships since near the region’s founding, and this treaty acts as a way to further formalize relations with our embassy partner. Starlight has especially been dedicated and capable in the everlasting war against the Darkspawn, frequently fighting alongside wardens on both offensive and defensive missions. The treaty also encourages further collaboration between the two regions in culture and the WA.

Raiders Lose Again

The Black Hawks once again attempted to tag tonight. Libcord won a dominant 25-1, with a sensational turnout of excited chasers looking to pad their respective military stats! There honestly isn't much to say - we lost one due to some assorted nonsense, and then went belt to ass on our opposition otherwise. With a great Thursday turnout off the back of some sensational March Madness games, Libcord demonstrated that there would be no Raiderdom comeback this March. The Black Hawks' taggers were send squarely back to the shadow realm, as Libcord pulled up with victories from all parts of the field. The All-Star Lineup awaits something of an improved challenge from Raiders at some point.

A Statement and Apology on Past Events:

For some initial clarification, and historical context, this is related to a matter related to events from September 2024. There are some people reading this who will have no idea what this is about, or wonder if something recent happened, so I feel responsible to provide this initial disclaimer. It is however something that is necessary to address, so as to bury the proverbial hatchet and smooth over any lingering animosity. This is a matter I see myself as effectively solely responsible for, so it will fall on myself to provide context and an apology.

In Fall 2024, The Rejected Realms and Balder entered tentative mediation talks. Conditions were set, actions were taken, disagreements were had, and it was left at an impasse. The talks themselves are not what I am seeking to relitigate here, nor do I think anybody is interested in returning to them. However, I feel responsible for addressing my personal role, and the breakdown in affairs that I directly contributed to. At the time, as First Warden of The Grey Wardens, I engaged as a mediating body between Balder and The Rejected Realms in these talks. I was expected to communicate expectations between parties, serve as a general point of cross-contact, and assist with the at-time intent of smoothing over relations with Balder and The Rejected Realms. Obviously, smooth over they did not.

To put it plainly, I did not serve aptly in my role as a mediator. There were expectations of impartiality, professionalism, and transparency that I did not adequately meet. I want to extend a deep apology for this failure in mediation. In particular, there were moments at which I was needlessly aggressive and unreasonable with the Realm of Balder, which led to a communication breakdown that never resumed. Regardless of what personal feelings I had at the moment, there were expectations of myself that weren’t met. I took actions that did not lead to what I had initially intended to accomplish, and it is likely that they caused more harm than good across both sides of the mediation attempt. I had set out initial conditions and expectations that were viewed as met, and turned around on them on account of personal frustrations. It was unprofessional, and uncalled for during a period when I was expected to act far more appropriately than I did.

I want to, once again, apologize to Balder and its involved officials on this matter. Whether purposefully or not, my actions were detrimental to the situation, and were unbecoming of my position and of the expectations that were had for these mediation talks. This is a matter that I can and should have handled far more professionally, and feel that it is paramount that I own that fact. What is done is done, but there are frustrations that were never smoothed over, but I am hopeful that this may act as an opportunity to reduce any lingering animosity from Balder and its officials in relation to this matter.

It is good to see this, despite its... last-minute nature.

I hope some introspection has occured as to why this look so long (since mid-November 2025). What could have been substantial in repairing the Wardens' credibility has been reduced to mitigating damages by the unnecessary delays and poor management.

It has been frequently asked since the founding of the Order what our plans were if we ever found ourselves in the unlikely scenario that the threat against native communities by outside forces is either eliminated or severely diminished. We've iterated, and even joked about, our comfort with that future, drawing comparisons to The Mad Titan, Thanos. Well, we've come as close to that future as we've ever, and may ever, come. The time has come for the Order to transition to this reality rather then treating it as hypothetical.

A recurring thought in our sphere over the past few months has been "we need to have tough conversations" as an organization. Command was saying it, our community was saying it as were our allies. Well, we got together to have those "tough" conversations and, as it turned out, these conversations were quite easy. It was very reassuring that even after all of these years, we still know exactly who we are and that we are all on the same page. It has been my absolute honor to serve under First Warden Aura, but he has requested to return the favor. It is with the blessing of Warden Command that I announce that I will be succeeding Aura as First Warden.

It has been a long time since I last served as First Warden and in that time I've changed a lot. I've moved several times, I've had and left multiple jobs and, most importantly, I've started a family. Nation States has changed a lot too. New region types and new mechanics have massively effected Gameplay while there's been an absolute run of new events and games rolled out by site admin. I look forward to more-fully experiencing this world as a gardner and not as a warrior, which I believe the Order needs.

We are rapidly approaching our 10th anniversary as a community. It was my first instinct to make a large spectical of the event, but I believe the short-term momentum of such an event would be harmful for our long-term growth. Instead, expect us to slow-burn these celebrations over a series of small, medium, and even possibly large announcements over the course of the summer and autumn as we retool ourselves with the future in mind.

I promise to cherish every minute of this opportunity and not take this community, nor its members, for granted. I thank our friends and allies for the patience they've shown us in recent times and I look forward to reaquanting with you. A special thanks to Rhaza who recognized how "back" I was months before anyone else caught on. He's had to listen to my frustrations, ambitions, and had the thankless task of getting me up to speed.
