Imperial Navy Commissions New Cruiser

(New Boston) The lead shop of the Excablian Imperial Navy’s new David IV-class cruiser was commissioned today at New Boston Shipbuilding. The INV David IV will replace the Navy's existing Citadel-class cruisers, and heralds a shift in the nation's naval strategy. The new trimaran hull ship is smaller than its predecessor and relies even more heavily on automation, reducing crew size while increasing its VLS missile capacity, and adding both aerial and seaborne drone capacity along with a Crimson Star magnetic particle gun.
During the commissioning ceremony, the Imperial Navy's Chief of Engineering, Vice Admiral Dennis Krauklins, also revealed the development of a new class of drone missile ships that will replace the Navy's older Wraith-class missile ships and augment its force of refitted Wraith II ships. Chief of the Imperial General Staff and Chief of Naval Operations Lord Admiral Kristaps Orav said during the ceremony that these new ships, combined with the Osprey-class done carriers will allow the Navy to shift from its carrier-focused fleet organization to a leaner, more agile and survivable fleet structure.
