Stentdon Beirbern was woken up by a punch in the gut from his son. He creaked his eyes open and saw Ilsen hopping about on his bed. His daughter, Vienna, better known as "V", was in the doorway, looking on her phone.
"Dad, wake up!" Ilsen shouted.
"Ilsen, give me a few minutes. Please." Beirbern mumbled, slightly in pain, wishing he hadn't stayed up until 1:00 AM trying to find his passport.
"You're always calling me lazy," Vienna started. "Now you're the lazy one!"
Stentdon chuckled, slowly sitting up. His son hopped off the bed, and Vienna motioned for him to follow them.
"Let me clean up first guys, I look like a wreck here."
Stentdon fixed himself up, brushing his teeth and warming himself up in the chilly Edsmon "summer". Upon leaving the bathroom, he found his wife, Kaera.
"Stent! How much sleep did you get? You look like a crisis!" she asked, poking him playfully. "Our flight is today, you better hurry."
"Isn't there a whole half-day until it departs? I desperately need sleep." Stentdon asked, rubbing his eyes.
"I'm surprised you remember. Anyways, I found your passport. It was in your closet. How'd you forget that?"
Kaera held out the passport, but Beirbern just stared at it, completely shocked. He questioned how he could have not seen it, as he was in his closet at least ten times that night.
"Stent!"
"Oh, right."
Beirbern walked back into his room, slipping the passport into his backpack before going over to the kitchen to meet his family. He devoured his breakfast so quickly that everyone just stared while he did it.
"You never eat that fast." Kaera said, shocked.
"What? I'm... Why am I eating so fast?"
Stentdon felt that he had some kind of force energy inside of him that made him do essentials, but otherwise he was useless. In short, he didn't want to wash the dishes. It was his turn though, and he powered through his exhaustion to finish quickly. Beirbern stumbled over to the TV and flopped onto the couch. It was then he realized that the remote wasn't in the holder.
"Hey V, have you seen the remote?" he shouted.
"I don't think I have." Vienna shouted back in reply. "But I know that Ilsen had it yesterday!"
A "Hey! Don't just tell me off!" could be heard from another room, followed by the drop of an object. It sounded like a vase.
"Kaera won't be happy." Stentdon thought.
However, being the terribly tired person that he was, Stentdon decided to let his wife handle the kids. Vienna was old enough to not cause too much chaos, but Ilsen on the other hand- he was a wrecking ball.
"Who broke the vase!?"
"That's Kaera" Stentdon thought, letting out a small laugh.
Just two minutes later, V came walking out with a triumphant smile, having successfully told off her brother for two crimes.
"What's this payback for?" Beirbern asked.
"Oh, just the time when he blamed me for cracking the upstairs TV." V replied, giggling. "It's about time I got him back."
"By your mom's lawbook, that kid would have gotten the rest of the day in 'room prison' for breaking the vase and stealing the remote. Too bad we have a flight, he'll be 'released' early."
Vienna suddenly had a slightly guilty look on her face, prompting a question from Stentdon.
"What'd you do to the remote?"
"I slid it under the bed so that he wouldn't get it, and... it's kind of stuck there now." V slowly whispered. "I tried the broom, the umbrella, nothing can get it out. It's right against the wall."
"It's fine, I'll just move the bed out of the way." Stenton replied. "Unless there's a problem?"
"There's kind of no way to move Ilsen's bed, it's wedged between both walls." Vienna said. "Kind of your fault dad, for having his bed perfectly line up with the width of the room."
A loud "Gosh darn it!" shook the living room.
Far Eastern Airlines Flight 167 - EDS --> SAT - East Karmic Ocean

"We're on our way to Saterun!" Svaardaen chanted.
"I don't think I've ever been there. What about you guys?" Darion Verto asked.
"Well, other Darion, I've been there on vacation." Ystermakt replied. "A pretty nice place if you ask me."
The Eagles were on their way to Saterun for the annual Independent's Cup, something that Edsmontik really wanted to win. The Eagles, despite being a top team in World Rankings, had hardly managed to get past the quarterfinals in the IAC. This time, they were here to win.
"We have to obliterate EVERY team that we see." Ghreksbvy announced to the small group of other players that were watching him from their seats. "We have to DESTROY their defenses, WRECK their attack, and PLOW DOWN their midfield!"
"Gee Makt, ain't that a little rough?" Vikral concernedly asked.
"Nothing's too rough for the strongest- wait, what rank are we?"
"5th." Shouzvenkreden said.
"Dang." Maktholm exclaimed. "We went down?"
"We're still top ten." Rehcikt added. "That's a good thing."
"Well," Ghreksbvy began again, "NOTHING'S TOO TOUGH FOR THE 5TH BEST TEAM IN THE WORLD!"
"Now, wouldn't it be embarrassing if we lost to an unranked side?" Zeukalmen whispered to Verto.
"That would be hilarious, but let's hope that doesn't happen." Verto replied.
It was a little intense for the other civilians to be watching a group of 26 or so Edsmon National Team players chant, yell, and celebrate random things. However, being in their presence was already super lucky. Over ten Far Eastern flights left Edsmontik, and 13 Edsmon Air flights left Edsmontik. The players could have been on any of them.
Obviously, due to their popularity among the Edsmon youth, mid-age, and elderly, at the terminal, they signed a lot of jerseys, balls, and papers. There were so many people that the crew was the last group to board, despite being in First Class.
There would still be a whole day of travel before reaching Saterun. 25 more hours in the air. The Edsmons wanted to have as much fun as possible while they could, because once they arrived, it would be a rough cycle of training and working out.
"Can't wait to meet Beirbern there, he was my idol growing up." Stuero said, looking out of his First-Class window. "I might be a striker, but I was so close to just putting myself in midfield to be like him."
"Same, that man played a strong attacking midfield position, surpassed everyone." Fotserr said. "You fit right into the attack though, you're perfect there. You score, just like him. It's just that he needed to support the center as everyone else on Woodhill sucked."
"True." Stuero said, laughing.
