The Commission for Dienstadi Petroleum Export Coordination (CDPEC) is an intergovernmental organization established to oversee and streamline the petroleum export strategies of key oil-producing nations within Greater Dienstad. Its primary mission is to ensure stability and predictability in the regional non-renewable energy market by coordinating production levels, export policies, and pricing strategies among its member states. A core function of CDPEC is the maintenance and promotion of the Dienstadi Basket, a composite oil benchmark derived from the weighted average of member state crude types, which serves as a regional alternative to global benchmarks. By using the Dienstadi Basket, the Commission aims to provide more accurate price signals tailored to the specific economic and geological contexts of Dienstad, reducing volatility and reinforcing regional sovereignty over energy valuation. In addition to managing the benchmark, CDPEC also monitors market conditions and intervenes as necessary to prevent supply shocks or price collapses, thereby acting as a moderating force in the broader non-renewable energy sector across the region. Through dialogue, consensus-building, and coordinated policy, the Commission fosters cooperation among Dienstadi petroleum exporters and enhances their collective influence in global energy affairs.
The Commission is headquartered in the Ion, a large monolithic skyscraper in Ninth Arrondissement of Preslaff, the capital city of the Castillian Federation. It is governed by the Representative's Committee, who elect a Secretary-General from one of the member states to serve as the Commission's chief executive officer on a fixed non-renewable four-year term. A Director-General is also selected for indefinite terms to manage the daily balances and duties of the Commission, and is accountable to the Secretary-General and the whole Representative's Committee.
Membership in CDPEC is subject to requirements. The primary requirement is that the aspirant-state be located in the region of Greater Dienstad. The second, and equally important, requirement is that the aspirant-state is a major exporter of crude oil, the minimum threshold decided by daily production. Currently, CDPEC has set the requirement of daily production at 3,000,000 barrels (bbl). Nominally, these are the only two requirements, however membership is still considered on a case-by-case basis (OOC: RPing experience is considered).
Nations who do not reside in the region of Greater Dienstad but who do meet the daily production quota will be considered for observer status. They cannot however join as full members due to the organization's bylaws, which are as follows:
Article I – Name and Purpose
Aspirant-states to the CDPEC should complete the following application in its entirety to be considered for admission into the organization:
