The Government of the International Community of TJUN-ia, along with the TJUN-ia Motor Racing Organisation and the Government of the UO Zone, is proud to welcome all race fans to the 3rd edition of the Race of Oceania and the 2nd edition of the Race of Oceania Lite here in Wollongmatta Bay, UO Zone.

After coming back last season alongside the Shield City Conflict, Adelaide Park Circuit is going solo for only the first time since...the first time, way back in Season 12. Last time we were here, we crowned a Gardener as Holly IX, Queen of the Jungle, 2nd Knight of the Ocean in the midst of the Chase - but this time, Wollongmatta Bay has a smaller role - acting as the midway point of the Regular Season. Couple that with the 3rd Knight and 2nd Squire of the Ocean being up for grabs and NSSCRA's quick return to the Manufano Islands should be a blast no matter who ends up on top!

ABOUT TJUN-ia
TJUN-ia is a nation that was created by The Jaguar's United Nations, an organisation that pioneers "international roleplay" (think the UN but if the United States uses Fang the Sniper as its UN Ambassador), to be the official "testing grounds". The state acts as a place where TJUN Reps can learn the skills required to represent their chosen state, region or territory in TJUN over in what we call Universe 2.

To the average TJUN-ian, here in Universe 3, that fact doesn't affect their day-to-day lives. TJUN-ia is one of the most progressive states in The North Pacific, with decriminalisation of all drugs and the free distribution of alcohol joined this year by a new decree that enshrines the equality of every TJUN-ian in the land, no matter who they are. You can expect every race fan, no matter of country of origin, to be treated the same way.

The state recognises 6 Official Languages for official use in government and in day-to-day use: English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Russian and Arabic. We also have an official 2nd Language in the form of Esperanto, used as a bridge language by the state in order to help travel and synchronicity between all corners of the state. If there is a sign in TJUN-ia it will be in 2 languages: the language of choice and Esperanto. This helps ensure you won't get lost if you start seeing signs in a language you don't understand. All tourists entering TJUN-ia will receive a copy of the government's official guide to Esperanto ("Esperanto: How To Learn The New Second Language/Esperanto: Kiel Lerni La Nova Dua Lingvo") upon arrival in the UO. If you want to see TV options in the official languages, please see the TV Guide provided by the government.

Here in the UO, only the official languages of the region (English, French and Esperanto) will be used alongside the debut of Welsh, in recognition of Jaguar Racing's new partnership with Ddraig. Expect the Dragon Hats that have become synonymous with the brand out in full force. Another thing to note will be that the TJUN-ia-MRO will be hoping to use the Open Charter system this time around, as losing the Shield City Conflict means both T1 and T2 will run on the same track. JR's Test Driver, the lovable Robin Dragonovic, will use the local slot, with a request also made to allow the winner of the Race of Oceania Lite to run the big one in 46th. Both charter requests are subject to NSSCRA approval.

[Valentine Z]

The Valentians – Part 6 – HOT (dog) TO GO.

Valentijn “De Sierlijke en Vrij Valkyrie General ov Valentine Z” Samantha Maxwell Delta Weston Stijn Angelus Tracey Mitchell Tristian Marnix Basilisk Lewis Hyatt X. Constantine Sein Lin Zaw Naing has just finished her prayers in Shwedagon Pagoda. A relatively quiet and peaceful place even with people preparing for the race that was about to happen around it. Wearing a modest and prudent dress, she walked around the perimeter of the Pagoda in her smaller stature, greeting people from all over Valentine Z who happened to be there. It was also easy for her to tell who the tourists were given the height differences. Nonetheless, harmony and hospitality are always there as the Valentians and non-Valentians mingled about without a single thought of concern. Valentijn was also able to go about her usual prayers without any interference or the need for bodyguards. “Good to be around with you all,” she thought to herself, praying for well-being of everyone and especially for the races to come. “I just hope that everyone – Valentians and others alike – will be able to get through this without injuries or major accidents,” finishing the prayers with a VC 500 note that she dropped into the donation box. Just as she put it in, one of the pagoda staff came by to open the box and retrieve the money for pagoda’s treasury. “Nice day today, Valentijn? Good luck!”

All in all, it was a fruitful day before the festivities for the race in Yangon begins. She wanted to make sure that she was avoiding everything that has happened before, such as the Water Festival that clashed with certain Big-Ass event from Hapiloppers. She still kicked herself thinking about it, despite the fact that, for the most parts, the two groups of racers (and by extension, the two nations) have been absolutely cordial and even back then, there was nothing too dramatic that happened. Either way, checking through every details and schedule that was set to follow for the days in Yangon, Valentijn opened up the welcoming party as the leader of Valentine Z. As all the planes, being lead by the Valentian dropship, tunnelled through the portal, they were greeted with the majestic sight of Valentine Z, specifically the city area of Yangon that is a mix of golden pagodas, sky-high glass buildings, all being complemented by common sights of parks and greenery that people have easy access to. Valentijn – standing 117 meters tall for that moment – stood in a field and waved at the passing planes, bowing and welcoming them all to the Meowvellous and Wondrous World of Valentine Z. “It has been a while since our last season together,” Valentijn announced as the planes landed at the runways one by one, “I hope that we will have a great one as always!”

With a little wave and a smile that she always did, Valentijn and Clarissa stood together and held hands as they waited for all of the planes to touch down safely. They then lead the trucks to their destination with quite a fanfare going around them. While this is something that is no longer new to the Valentians, they were nonetheless hyped up and excited about such an event happening at their venue – NSSCRA out of all things, for one. Eventually, they made it to the starting point area of the road course, along with where most loungings are located for the next few days. “The places have all been assigned and all, but hey, if in the event that you would like a change in scenery, just a different room, or something to that effect, do feel free to let us know!” Valentijn said with a wink, then the two of them shrunk back to a more presentable size as they too went ahead with their preparations for the events.

Some time passed from their initial touchdown to the pre-race meeting that the Valentians, along with the NSSCRA officials, have organized for what to expect in Valentine Z. Of course, they all know about the fact that it might possibly be one of, if not, the longest track to ever grace NSSCRA – for better or for worse. Some like Eveline and Clarissa embraced the vastness and thrill of it, Adriana took it as practice for her Grand Prix givings, while others such as Duruljiayiji would rather be at a superspeedway or something to that effect. Whichever way it goes for the Valentians and non-Valentians, it was certain that they would need this meeting as they always do. At that time, Eveline was accounting for all of the attendees, especially all the drivers that needed to be there. “Okay, almost everyone is here. I think we can start preparing the speech and look through the papers. All right,” Eveline paused a moment before continuing her address. “Once again, hello and welcome to Yangon! Good day today, more on that later. Typically, Valkyrie Valentijn is the one doing the honors, but for this one, I’m given such honor to brief you.”

Looking through the stacks of papers on a table in a span of 0.0027 seconds, Eveline then looked at the group of people who were in turn looking at her. Almost all of the drivers, almost all of the staff, she figured. Something was amiss, she thought, but she decided to let it play and see how it went. “Right, so first and foremost! The weather is looking pretty fantastic right here in Yangon – there would be no chances of rain, but for those folks that may not be able to handle the heat well- no, I am not talking about the race itself – it might get a little too warm for some of you. Temperatures are expected to hit 30 degrees Celsius, around 87 Fahrenheit or 303 Kelvins, so please make sure that you are absolutely properly hydrated, along with the air-conditioner or fans or working in your cars. In terms of safety – there is typically not much for me to speak of, except to- well, this will sound obvious, but do not-“

As if on some sort of mistimed cue or just completely unexpected, Eveline was surprised by a door being opened loudly. One Drake Stevenson, as it would appear from the missing headcount, was wearing what was a mascot of a show that the non-Valentians must have heard about. “Mr. Stevenson!” Eveline gasped and before she could continue on, the whole room erupted into what she would like to call “positive chaos” – it was chaotic for sure, but not in the way that needed quelling too quickly. Instead, a “Hot Dawg Dance” was commenced by Drake, in turn having been joined by a few others, including Clarissa, Anna, and even Holly joined in on the fun as Jamie clapped along.

Eveline let it go on for a couple more seconds, figured that people could use a bit of a good laugh before the more serious briefing regarding safety matters. However, with the group getting louder and louder as it went on, Eveline decided to put a halt to this in a harmless manner, sending a small ripple across the floor in terms of space-time distortions – it did not have long-term effects, but it was clear that it worked, for everyone’s attention came back.

"PLEASE SIT DOWN SO WE CAN START THE MEETING!" Eveline raised her voice, first time ever this season. She did not want to do that, especially not to the sports people that she knows and loves. The shouting and tempering with the space-time continuum, along with bashing brains and slapping faces, were all reserved for denizens of other countless worlds. “Mr. Stevenson!” she yelled this time, now with the NSSCRA officials around her as well in order to get the whole thing under control. A couple of them were talking to her, something that Drake probably might not hear thanks to the padding. “Hmm, what- no. I am NOT sanctioning him. No no, that’s okay, I don’t want to press further. Please do keep him out for now though, maybe until he got out of the suit. I can wait until he’s done.” And with that, Drake was out of the meeting, at least until he got changed, with Eveline doing some time control to make the wait a lot less painful – the flow of time in the meeting space stopped while she went out to talk to Drake. “Love, err… okay, that’s an inappropriate term, sorry about that. Drake, while I really, really do appreciate that, genuinely so because goodness knows we actually do need some lighthearted humour, I will have to ask you to come back with the mascot suit off before we continue on. Take your time, time has been paused for convenience!”

Eveline did not want to press into the matter further for a couple of facts. First and foremost, she (and the rest of the Valentians) vouched that no one was really hurt in that meeting and that it was just something Hapilopperians did to ease off the tension. “Out of all people, we should know that too, actually. I mean, we are the chill and lighthearted Valentians too!” Eveline remarked. Second of all – the meeting went back to normal with Eveline and the Valentians being able to get their points across and to make sure that no one could get hurt, let alone die, on their track, pointing out especially to inertia-absorbing guardrails. “Although… yeah, don’t rely on them heavily. We are not going to give the exact figures for trade secrets and to make sure you are not all doing it on purpose, but yes – those guardrails can reasonably stop you from getting hurt, but laws of physics is still cruel. Just be careful, ok?”

And third but more importantly – Drake won. There was just no way to spin this around had the Valentians decided to go with the option of defaming or humiliating the guy – which was something they do not want to do, anyway. Eveline tried her best on the track, but after netting a 4th placement that would see her bouncing back after her relative failure in Hafamarimët, she decided that this was all good. Going back, portraying anything negative towards Drake would get awkward really stupidly fast. After much discussion during the downtime with Valentijn, the Valentians decided that they would let Drake Stevenson celebrate this in a way that he would love it too. “Well, hot dog, you did it!” Eveline genuinely cheered for Drake as she walked towards her, “I’m sorry about the bollocks that went down during the pre-Race briefing, I’m sure you understand. Things had to become serious when matter of safety was involved too, you know? And no, this is not just because you won – we would have apologized any other way.” She paused for a moment before continuing on, “So, there is something else that I would like you to do, Drake.”

“What do you say, that you put on that mascot and do that Hot Dawg Dance as celebration? Up to you, of course! It will make the whole thing in Yangon memorable too.”

The Gardeners – Part 6 – Togetherness.

Head Secretary Jamie Izabella Maxie Clara “The Elegant and Magnificent Mathematician” Pernella Ellie Natie Lexie Marie Valerie Ruby Æstriðr Fni. Clementine Millicent Lizbeth Alex Cass Eirian, in her usual blue dress with a bit more bundled up hairstyle, was sitting down for the pre-race meeting along with Holly and Anna on her left side, Jolyn, Adriana and Duruljiayiji on the right. At the front, Eveline was doing her briefing regarding the weather that was to be expected in Yangon, on top of the safety measures and features that were implemented on the course. All standard stuff, all things considered, and Jamie was simply anticipating the qualifications to go a little better, seeing how she was unable to be in 3 of the races, and crashing out in the previous race as an insult to injury. Just as she was about to check the time and the notifications on her phone, a commotion was breaking out in front.

A mascot burst into the room with much chaos that followed. Jamie had absolutely no idea where the mascot is from – in terms of the show and the country of origin, but soon enough, there were rounds of commotion and talks that more or less confirmed that it was Drake Stevenson in it, and he started doing that Hot Dawg dance or something to that effect. Jamie still could not comprehend this sort of thing, but she definitely was in a good mood for nice little tunes. “Well, it definitely is catchy, I will give it that,” she said, clapping along as Anna was trying her best to sing alongside with the others, Holly also doing the same after the initial confusion. Naturally, it did not last that long, for the Valentians got a whole schedule ahead of them. A few seconds later, Jamie felt a slight tremor below, which would normally indicate an earthquake. However, Yangon being more or less seismically stable here meant that something else happened. It definitely was not Marcus stomping the ground, for he was just watching the whole thing unfold with utmost fascination. It was Eveline temporary causing a space-time distortion wave.

"PLEASE SIT DOWN SO WE CAN START THE MEETING!" she yelled out, much to Jamie nearly jumping out of her chair. “Oh, my!” she exclaimed softly before composing herself. Jamie is not one to yell out, which was seen as a good thing both by herself and the others around her. The problem is, it also goes too far to the other side – Jamie does not yell or shout even in dangerous situations, only speaking out in unnaturally calm disposition. With all that said, Jamie watched in awl as Eveline and a couple of NSSCRA officials in front were having a conversation to themselves, followed by Drake being politely asked to leave for the time being. It would perhaps be a couple of seconds before he came back without the mascot suit so that the meeting can start. To anyone else, it seemed as if Drake ripped apart the mascot and quickly changed to his normal clothes. For Valentians, it is Evelin’s doing.

The race itself was not too much to talk about, at least for the Gardeners. Duruljiayiji got a good break for once as he finished 7th for the Everlong race, and just about everything that he could have asked for at this moment and time in the series. For Jamie, Anna, and Holly, the qualifications should have see them being able to group up together and take the Top 20 or even the Top 10 spots with ease. However, the pit stops that were needed a bit more frequently, along with their relative performance, meant that they finished nearly close to each other, but in 22nd, 26th, and 28th. Clarissa was also in the fray as 24th finish, almost as if they were paired with a car to accompany them. Anna with Kizara Mo'aaki, Clarissa with Sayoko Noda, Holly with Tsuneyuki Hamamoto, and Jamie with Lam Chow-Cheung. In other words – while they started together and ended together, Jamie felt that they could have gotten better placements. “And this is in what is our home road course as well. Hmm, I suppose we will have to try again in the next race,” Jamie said at the post-race, offering a hug to both Anna and Holly (the firesuit did help).

Post-race, Jamie was signing autographs for her adoring fan, many of them wearing outfits and clothes that either seemed to mimic hers or were exactly like hers. She didn’t mind because after all, she was the one who posted the brands and types of clothes that she wears on a regular basis on the social networks. The Hepburn look (no relation to Eveline) is always in style for the Valentians, perhaps save for the hot and humid climates which drive people to sweat even after a 5-minute slow walk. With the autographs done and the R&R all to themselves, the Valentians decided to have a dinner at a local restaurant. Even if they didn’t win, it was definitely a job well-done in terms of organizing this race. “According to the reports as it is – which is to mean before any other journalists or websites can… change it – there were no disasters and major crashes that happened in this race,” Jamie detailed.

“Three laps to go, Patty. You can do this. You’ve got this!”

“God, will someone make these laps go even faster?!”

“Hey, Patty, that’s on you, girl. Just keep doing what you’re doing and we’ll be home free soon.”

Patricia nic Neill had long ago accepted that she was more than likely not going to get any sort of major success in stock car racing. Whether it was back in Abanhfleft’s Racing Truck Series or the NationStates Stock Car Racing Association itself, Patty knew that she was never going to be as good as the likes of Qiang or Brooke or Drake or Gwen, and that was fine with her. Every sport needed a guy (or in her case a girl) who was good enough to mix it with the best but not enough to actually be a constant and consistent challenger to the actual top guys. Patty had taken her chance, and after the KryptoKoin debacle, she soon recognized that perhaps just being there was already the best that she was going to get out of this competition. Not that she had been doing any better back in Abanhfleft anyway.

And at least money was no longer an issue, not since those Pridnestrovian oligarchs had approached her and offered to sponsor her for future seasons while they attempted to reach out to one Ronald Victor in the hopes of securing some sort of business deal or whatever it was that businessmen did during their meetings and whatnot. That said, Patty still had her own misgivings about where the money from those oligarchs had come from or how they had made that money, but she was smart enough to keep those thoughts to herself. Some things were just not meant to be questioned. In any case, Victor himself may be gone, off trying to get elected as President of Kerthenia once again or whatever, but the oligarchs were still sponsoring her, and Patty had no intention of getting off of that particular gravy train. Either the oligarchs needed to keep sponsoring her as part of some tax write-off scheme or they believed that Ronald Victory was going to come back to NSSCRA someday. Patty nic Neill didn’t really care, so long as the checks didn’t bounce.

All of that said, just because Patty acknowledged that she was not on the level of the Drakes and Gwens and Taylors and Valkyries of the multiverse didn’t mean that she didn’t want to win races as well. She was never probably going to win a championship, but she wouldn’t say no to paying a visit to victory lane at least once or twice a season. Unfortunately for her, even just one win per season would prove to be a difficult ask from the racing gods, especially in the previous season when UrGa’s stock car division began suffering the effects of being neglected in favor of the team’s WGPC operations. Clearly, it paid off for that side of the company because the Pridnestrovians finally won that open-wheel championship that they had always wanted, but it also had the effect of making their stock car team put in what had to be its worst performance statistically ever since UrGa went into NSSCRA. And, while NSSCRA may have gotten off to an earlier start than WGPC this time around, something in Patty’s mind told her that the Pridnestrovians would really like it if they were able to hold on to their constructors’ championship in the open-wheel series.

UrGa had made some moves to prevent the disaster that was Season 15 from repeating itself, with probably the biggest of those moves being UrGa signing Solymok as the team’s new tire supplier. Tire failures was one of the many major problems that UrGa had suffered in the previous season, and the hope was that switching to a bigger and more familiar name in Solymok would help to minimize tire failures in Season 16. UrGa had dropped Tropicorp as their supplier for reasons that were still unknown to most of the rest of the team, and because of this UrGa moved back to the much less reliable Akorn tires, which definitely played its part in how badly the rest of the previous season unfolded. So far, Solymok hasn’t failed the team as much as Akorn did last year, but the more pessimistic would say that it was still too easy to tell even though it had already been more than a month since the start of the season. And the massive expanded field in the Everlong Series wasn’t doing Patty any favors either as she had failed to qualify for two races so far. And even though Patty wasn’t really focused on winning a title, not being able to take part in one race, let alone two, still stung her.

At the same time, Patty didn’t even know what she was looking forward to in the instances in which she was actually able to qualify into races. Her very first outing in the massively expanded Everlong field resulted in her finishing in 43rd place, but then again that was at a superspeedway, and everyone knew that nobody could draw any solid conclusions from a superspeedway race. However, Patty could draw a handful of conclusions from the other races, and one of those was that she was absolutely shit at road courses. On the other hand, Patty might actually have a chance at showing her stuff on speedways. She already had a win on a speedway under her belt, and Patty had come agonizingly close to picking up a second victory at one of the newer tracks on the calendar in Edsmontik. Her qualifying performance was decent enough; Patty would start the race in 14th place, and pit strategy would help get her to the sharp end of the race, but at the end of the day Colin Meredith was just that much more experienced at this racing thing than Patty was. Close, but no cigar.

Now one would have thought that Patty nic Neill had the date for the Hafamarimët race circled on her calendar given that it was another speedway race, but one would actually be mistaken. The unique nature of the Zavanjë SpeedDome had made Patty reluctant about taking to that track, and it would turn out that she wasn’t the only one who had reservations. The Zavanjë SpeedDome, unlike other speedways, had an unconventional “square” layout, a stark difference from the usual “tri-oval” layout utilized in much of the rest of the multiverse. Instead of just two straight, there were now four, and that also came with four braking zones. Analytical models predicted those four braking zones to be heavy ones, and at least one team, specifically Team Blue, had already taken steps to mitigate potential issues that might crop up. UrGa’s simulations had predicted increased G-loads on the drivers’ bodies, specifically their necks, but simulations could only show so much, and there was also the age-old adage that computers and reality weren’t always on the same page. Indeed, the reinforced neck braces that UrGa had brought to Zavanjë proved to be inadequate for the task that they were supposed to do. Not to the extent that it was actually endangering the lives of their drivers, but there was definitely a sensation that things were a little bit lacking in the support department.

The inadequate neck support had already made itself apparent during practice, and maybe it was a factor in why Patty only managed to qualify in 30th place. It was still good enough to get her into the race itself, but it was definitely a disappointment for her and the team. Maybe they could have done better, or maybe this really was just the best that Patty could muster under the circumstances. All she knew was that she had a mountain to climb on Saturday, and that was compounded by the strain that was beginning to build on her neck. Patty didn’t sleep well that night, and she also had a poor start to the race, but then her crew chief made the call to go to the alternate pit strategy, just like what they had done in Edsmontik. And just like Edsmontik, it worked like a fucking charm. Patty herself had no idea why it worked; it just did. And with just a couple of laps to go, she was hanging on to the lead with all that she had. Her neck was screaming at her to put a stop to it already, but at the same time Patty knew that the only way to put herself and her neck out of their combined misery was to get to the checkered flag.

“White flag, Patty. One more to go. Four more turns. Gap to the 10 is two tenths. Just keep up the rhythm and bring it home.”

“But the rhythm makes my neck hurt!” Patty said back to her crew chief.

“It’s for the checkered flag, Patty. Remember that.”

The one saving grace for Patty nic Neill’s aching neck was the fact that Zavanjë was a 22-second lap, give or take a few tenths, meaning that the final lap would be over before she knew it. But there was always a non-zero chance that Patty could pass out before she got to the checkered flag, and that was a scenario that no one in UrGa, least of all Patty herself, wanted to think about. Thankfully, four turns soon became three, and then three became two, and then there was only one more turn left before the short run to the finish line…

“That’s it, Patty! Win number two in NSSCRA, baby! Welcome to the playoffs!”

“Oh my god!” Patty called out. “Oh, thank God! Thank goodness that’s all over. Oh, God, someone get the ice packs ready. Someone get the hot gel thingies ready too while you’re at it. Thank God it’s over. The win is good. Playoffs place is good. But my neck hurts like hell. Thank you, Hafamarimët, but my neck isn’t so sure. I’m just glad it’s all over, guys.”

“We’ll take care of your neck later, Patty. Don’t you worry about it. But right now, just enjoy the win.”

Patty nic Neill didn’t perform a burnout as she would have normally done under the circumstances. The pain in her neck, which had been building since her first laps in anger earlier in the afternoon, had gotten to the point where she just wanted to be out of the car and away from this track as soon as possible. She still had to do the trackside interviews, during which she might have said that today was “the worst 249.99 miles of my life,” as well as accept the winner’s trophy in victory lane, but at least Patty knew that the hard part of the weekend was finally over.

Eddie Suzuki was also having a good time in Hafamarimët. His luck had finally improved by loads after he failed to make the field in the first three races of the season and he got caught up in a massive early-race wreck-fest at the Lonngeylin Ring. Eddie had actually managed to finish in fifth place in the race previous to Zavanjë, and he would definitely have hoped that he could continue to carry that momentum on this weird square-shaped track. Much like his teammate Patty nic Neill though, Eddie’s neck braces proved to be surprisingly inadequate to the task, probably because the simulations underestimated the loads that the drivers would actually go through on the track itself, and that may have also played a part in him finishing qualifying only in 40th place. But much like his teammate, Eddie’s crew chief made the call to go to the alternate pit strategy almost as soon as they could, and like Patty it paid dividends for the driver of the 06 car. In just two pit stop cycles, Eddie moved from the tail end of the pack to the front. He was never much of a threat to take the lead, but in just two pit stop cycles he was suddenly in command of a top 10 car, and he was also good value for hanging on in that top 10. And while 8th place wasn’t better than 5th, at least Eddie wasn’t watching the races from the garage anymore, and that was the real improvement to his season. And now that Patricia nic Neill finally had a win in the season under her belt, Eddie could begin to wish that he could finally get some of that good luck rubbing off on him as well.

Hot Dawg!...Crap! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!

Ok....we have a lot to get through. Due to the many requests for this race weekend Round and Round the Pagoda in Yangon, Valentine Z, the winner of the 350 would end up starting the 500 on Sunday...so that extra motivation would certainly be a draw to all those involved in the ECS. Lightning Zhang, starting for the local team, would start on pole over Jolyn Maxine Caulfield Helen Maximovna and Georg Lundberg with Alice Jepkosgei in P4, Axel Chase in P7, Olavi Vile Ruusuvuori P10, Gongming Gao P11 and Kaarina Salo in P12 in what was a good Friday for the Dreigiau. That, however, would change on the Saturday of the race as Lundberg ended up as one of the three DNFs on the day. Edmund Flanders would end up grabbing that win with both hands over Valkyrie Valentijn Samantha Constantine and AxChase as OVR (P11), Salo (P14), Gao (P20) and AJ (P23) ended up towards the midfield and that was that. As we headed into the Regular Season midway point, this race did confirm a few things.
1) Eveline are top dogs of T2, but only just.
2) Edmond Flanders, in the sole Hamilton, would race in T1 from P46.
3) Primetime, a manufacturer that has tried and tried to qualifying into a race but to no avail so far, would be outscored by Hamilton...despite Hamilton not even running in T1 at all. Funny how things work, huh?

Now then, T1. We have a bit to talk about here as well. Eveline Gwen Tracer Allison Oxton Hepburn managed to grab pole on home soil over Yi Tan and Alexander Rivier with Maddison Riley-Jones (P10), Alfonso Mercado (P11) and now 10-time race winner Michael Stefan (P21) all looking to puch towards the front on the Sunday. HM also seemingly had a good day as Aurélia Karvonen ended up 5th, Ilmari Pëkannen was 15th and Lam Chow-Cheung looked to make moves from P23. Alongside those already mentioned, Cocoabo #28 (P6), Lexi Patterson (P7), Jamie Izabella Marie Astrid Eirian (P8), Ilya Tsunopin (P14), Christian Nimrac (P16), Ongmu Yeti (P19) and Hwang Do-Hee (P24) all made it in. Open Charter was dependant on so many factors but because of those who did make it in, Sayoko Noda (P37) and the previously mentional Flanders (P46) would make it in as well.

And then race day arrived. It all started in the pre-race Driver's Meeting, something that usually doesn't require much mention if any at all. It's just the thing everyone has to do before every race for several reasons, nothing special until something happens...and something happened. Now, I was not familiar with the famed 'Hot Dawg' children's TV show before race day, but we were given a grand introduction to this character in this meeting by none other than Drake Stevenson. He even did this dance that Hot Dawg is known for that was so hilarious and caused so much chaos that he was ejected from the meeting. That's so Drake.

And then we won the race. Convincingly. MemeWatch Hall of Fame, NSSCRA Hall of Fame, Moment of the Year S16, lock it down! Like holy smokes, him doing that only to win this race in style was just the funniest thing I have ever seen in my life. And do you know the best part? The podium, oh the fucking podium! The rest of the podium was Ilmari fucking Pëkannen, who was certainly emotional after pulling that one out of the hat, and Mercado...and those two decided that since Drake won this race, they were all going to attempt to do the dance up there...and it was glorious. Like, I was in STITCHES after that. Holy fuck! As for everyone else? Stefan came home 7th, Karvonen 12th, LCC 29th in a bit fo an off day and MRJ didn't even make it home - she had trouble late on and was forced to retire the car.

But she will hope to bounce back...because she is going home. The Race of Oceania, and its Lite version, are nigh. The first titles of the season will be decided in Wollongmatta Bay and Wollongmatta Bay alone. See you there!

T2
HMT2, as an entity, is a team that usually is pretty consistent when it comes to results and they have definitely shown that this season alongside their T1 counterparts. Qualifying proved that once more as Georg Lundberg qualified in 3rd, Olavi Vile Ruusuvuori in 10th and Kaarina Salo in 12th. But in the race itself, things hit a rare snag as Lundberg pulled up early due to an engine issue...a shame for a driver who was leading the overall championship. OVR in 11th and Salo in 14th both came home and maintained their momentum....but not the easiest weekend for the T2 gang.

Ilmari Pëkannen could feel himself getting...better as the races ran on this season. The start didn't seem to be anything special, just same old Ilmari in the #71, but ever since LCC got that win in Vilaye, things have actually felt better for the "kolmas pyörä" of the T1 outfit, converting P5 to P19 in Gergary and P4 to P22 in the neliö of Zavanjë. He could tell things were getting more and more consistent, he just needed to put things together on Sunday and he would be more of a player on the field. He qualified, again, for the race, this time in P15, and he was looking just to keep up the momentum and aim towards the Top 10 if possible.

What instead happened was the greatest weekend of his career so far. And it started with the Hot Dawg dance that Drake Stevenson did in the Drivers Meeting pre-race. He got kicked out because of that, but it did get a laugh out of Ilmari and it seemed to be the energy he needed as he got into the #71...because he carried it throughout. He started off like normal but at some point, he just carried himself towards the Top 10 and rarely left it. It certainly felt strange, spending this much time with the big guns, but it certainly was time appreciated and so was the finish. Drake Stevenson was miles ahead heading into the final few laps, but he was 2nd and spent the last few moments making sure that place was his. Mercado couldn't get it done...and so Ilmari, like Karvonen before him, would go up there in 2nd.

HM: WHAT A DRIVE, P2, P2! USKOMATON!
IP: WOOOHOOO! Yesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyesyes! Ahahah!
MT: What a drive, Ilmari, what a drive! We knew you had that in you, come on!
IP: KIITOS! Woooo! Yeah! I can get used to more of this!

That is the hope anyway. He was so joyous, he was practically crying as he hugged the HM camp. He was so joyous, he didn't mind giving one to Axel Chase in the Lane. He was so joyous, we went over to Drake and said "that was brilliant, before and after. Well done!" before doing that dance with Mercado just for the fun. This is what Ilmari wanted to do...and now, he knows how it feels.

LCC/AK
It started with light and skin against skin. Then the waking up, the kiss on the cheek, the getting dressed before retreating to prepare for the day job.
Meetings with Huang Zhu, Eila Juurikkala and Eero Casagrande went without a hitch - nothing seemed off at all.
Final checks, anthem, back in the car...and then it was time to race.

One driver converted P5 to P12, a solid performance that kept them in the outskirts of the conversation for the chase.
She enjoyed that and last night. It was certainly interesting in some aspects, but she had fun.

The other driver went from P23 to P29, an off day by their standards.
They had consented to last night and there were no regrets behind the mask and helmet...but they know they went behind Tshering's back.
They didn't know if this was just a one-time thing...but they also knew that, deep down, something had changed.

They both congratulated Ilmari on his podium, a definite sign of both his development and just how well HM as a whole have been doing this season.
The Pomo couldn't be happier and everyone seemed to be heading in the right direction...while the two big guns now had a shared secret.

Later on, back at that hotel in Yangon, they met in the hallway once more...and you could tell something had changed.
One would lead the other back to where the day started...this time deep in a kiss.
They knew this couldn't last forever...but right now, they would make the most of it.
Next stop: Wollongmatta Bay.

[Aji No Moto]

"Thank the Gods that we had that open charter slot."

After two weeks of not being able to inform NSSCRA officials of having the open charter for the #00 team, the benefit seemed to work on their favor. Two other teams requested for the open charter as well, and as three would not all fit for two open charter slots, Sayoko knew that she still has to qualify via speed, although she only needs to beat one of the two teams requested for the charters.

Her qualifying time was not enough to be one of the ten fastest qualifiers to make it into the race, and she was initially relieved that she could do anything she wanted. But those other two unchartered teams that requested the open charters were among the eight. As her crew chief told her that she made it into the race via open charter, she simply sighed. She wanted to do some hookups in Yangon, but that will also have to take a backseat as she had a race to prepare for.

This race in Yangon was also the first time Tsuneyuki had outqualified his unchartered teammate, but in the race, the #0 team struggled with properly setting up the car, and as such, he suffered as he was not competitive as he had hoped based on the previous round's results. Hamamoto eventually finished behind Noda, with the placings not helping both the teams to try to break the top 20 in owners' points which would greatly help them next season.

It seems a win in the last 10 races is what both drivers need to secure Top 20 for next season.

DID YOU KNOW?… The show “Hot Dog” aired on the Hapilopper Television Network’s Saturday Morning kids’ block from 1972 to 1985 and featured Hot Dog, a talking crime-solving dog and his friends, Billy, his burnt-out owner; Chuck, a wise-cracking policeman; Anna, whose looks got the attention of teenagers for all the wrong reasons; and Charlotte, who was voiced by a popular radio DJ fired in 1989 for calling a member of the Hapiloppian parliament a “monumental fuck knuckle” live on the air.

Lawrence Malloy, Drake Stevenson’s crew chief, looked to his right and spotted the mascot head sitting next to him. This mascot head had caused so many problems – it had gotten Drake stopped by airport security and questioned as to why he was trying to wear it onto an airplane. It got Drake kicked out of a driver’s meeting. And now, the white flag had just been thrown and Drake had a huge lead over Ilmari Pekannen and Alfonso Mercado en route to victory. Lawrence was kind of hoping Drake would wheel hop and spin out, or he’d money shift, blow an engine and not make it back, or even asspack some random backmarker, all so he wouldn’t have to follow about the most ridiculous order he had ever been given.

You see, prior to the start of the race, Drake instructed Lawrence that should he win, he should bring the mascot head to victory lane.

About two minutes later, Drake passed by, taking the checkered flag and winning his first race of the season. The mascot head was coming to victory lane. At this point, Lawrence was dreading his very existence, dreading the fact that he had been reduced to being Billy, the pothead that owned Hot Dog the talking crime-solving dog. And he was dreading what the scene on the victory podium would look like. Inevitably, before billions of people watching across the multiverse, Drake was inevitably going to do that stupid Hot Dog dance that kids used to do on Saturday mornings. And inevitably, Drake was going to try to get the other two drivers on the podium to join him.

Per the Team Blue tradition, there were no burnouts or donuts – to do so would cost Drake upwards of a hundred grand – a drop in the bucket for him, but the principle of it was enough to stop him. Instead, he was driving straight to victory lane, climbing out and taking the mascot head from his crew chief.

A short while later, Drake was joined on the podium by Pekannen and Mercado, but before any national anthems could be played, he put on the mascot head and started to move. Prancing forward, then back. Then to the left, then to the right, and then the inexplicable “Hot Dog Hop” – the contents of which we’ll leave to your imagination. But just keep in mind, billions of people all over the world were watching this, the best race car driver in the multiverse, lead two other drivers and god knows how many other people, on this ridiculous dance.

It would forever rank as one of the most ridiculous moments in the history of international motorsport, but one that left an impression on many.

Back in Hapilopper City, it made one person very emotional.

That same time

Ricky Barber couldn’t believe his eyes. He was watching the end of the NSSCRA race in Valentine Z and watching Drake Stevenson do this dance – the Hot Dog Dance – on live TV. Barber could barely keep himself composed. His father, James Barber, had created the show, but fell on hard times once the Hapilopper Television Network canceled it in 1985. When he died in 1999, he thought the show had been forgotten and barely an obscure memory in the eyes of many people. Ricky Barber wanted to find some way to keep his father’s memory alive in some form or fashion but was having a hell of a time trying to have any luck. Now, here he was, getting a huge assist from no less than the most popular sports figure in the entire country.

Almost immediately, Ricky, who operated the @HotDogTV account on twii.tur, started posting like crazy, hoping that people would remember the show. His social media posts blew up like wildfire as sure enough, fans of the show remembered more than just the dance, but rather a funny children’s cartoon that seemingly had things adults would enjoy.

As he sat there in his dingy apartment, Ricky wondered how long this fame would last. He owned the rights to the show, and had tried for years to get it brought back to television, without any luck. Now, millions of people across Hapilopper had remembered the show.

The next day, Ricky was awoken by a call from the head of programming from HTN. They wanted to order a 25-episode season of a revived “Hot Dog,” with Ricky serving as executive producer.

His answer?

“Call Drake Stevenson. I want him on board as well.”

They did. He gleefully accepted.

It was a difficult day on track for @TeamTrop drivers Cocoabo#37 and @Centur on the twists and turns in Valentine Z. While both Cocoabo #37 and Centur Tiones have previously made their way to victory lane on road courses at various levels of the sport, this would not be their day as the duo found themselves looped around on multiple occasions including a late incursion for Cocoabo #37 with another Tropicorp backed driver, Yraaga Gilli'i. The two were battling for 23rd position when they made slow contact which would see Gilli'i stuck in the door of Cocoabo #37's Dart. The two had to wait for the field to pass them by before separating and rejoining the track for the final lap of the race. While it would be a miserable points day for the Cocoabo driver as a result, the locals were thrilled with their finishing position as no fanbase would appreciate more the fact that Cocoabo #37 finished in 37th position than those in Valentine Z. Cocoabo #37 narrowly remains inside the Top 16 of the NSSCRA Point Standings while Centur Tiones has dropped down to 19th position after their 31st place run around the Pagoda.

We've had our ups and downs in #Tropicorp #1 in Tires Dart so far this season, but it was great to have a no-issues day going Round and Round the Pagoda at the Shwedagon's Blessings 500. After running near the front early on, we lost the strategy a bit with a slow first pit stop. The team stuck together and rallied for great pit stops the rest of the way and we fought our way back for a Top 10 Finish! Certainly did it the hard way, and while we can sit and wonder what might have been if we hadn't put ourselves behind early, in the end we got the result we were looking for to give us some momentum heading into TJUN-ia.

[Vilaye]

Shwedagon's Blessings 500, Round and Round The Pagoda, Yangon, Valentine Z :: While the three Vilaye EnergySport drivers struggled in qualifying for the Shwedagon's Blessings 500, there was one driver turning heads with their performance and that was former Team Tropicorp driver Cocoabo #28 who piloted their Team Tsunopin entry to the 6th position on the starting grid. Round and Round was certainly a setup that Team Tsunopin seemed to master as the typically over-hyped Ilya Tsunopin even showed that they were more than just a voluptuous beard after all following up the Cocoabo's run with their own Top-15 showing to lock themselves into the field with over a second to spare on the scoreboard. Tsunopin would hit the mark 3 spots better than Vilaye EnergySport's top qualifier, Islago Tizilna who put the Vilaye BOOM! Dart 17th on the grid.

It seemed that Tizilna would be the teams best shot at a Top 10 finish in Valentine Z but the race wasn't even half-way over when that dream went up in a crumble of sheet metal and a puddle of fluid as Tizilna blew out the radiator after heavy contact under breaking in an incident that would also end the day for Rinzi Aogar Zakhilal of Team Blue. The resulting caution period did open the opportunity for some teams to shake up the strategy and one team that chose to cut against the grain was the #14 Vilaye Energy Drink Dart team for River 'Shark' Suzgar II. By staying out they moved up into the Top 5 for the first time all race - in fact the first time even within the Top 15. While they would eventually slide back as the faster tires came through, the equalization was enough to move Suzgar from where they had been running in the mid-20's to a much-less-terrible from a points perspective finish of 16th place. The performance would allow Suzgar to keep their spot inside the Top 10 of the point standings though teammate Islago Tizilna was not as fortunate. With their failure to finish and 45th place ranking for Race #7 Tizilna crashed down to 15th in the regular season standings and occupying the 16th and final position in the projected playoffs when factoring in the victory of Sherpalander Yi Tan earlier in the season that locks the #9 team into the playoffs despite their current position outside the Top 16 in the standings.

While it was a day that Vilaye EnergySport would like to quickly forget, it was quite the opposite for Team Tsunopin who may look back Round and Round the Pagoda as the race that change their teams fate not only for NSSCRA 16 but perhaps in the future history books. While just weeks prior a Top 15 finish by Cocoabo #28 was being celebrated as a masterful accomplishment by the Cocoabo driver, the same performance in Valentine Z would leave Cocoabo #28 as the lowest finishing driver for Team Tsunopin with Thea Alvarez placing 6th and Ilya Tsunopin backing up their strong qualifying run with an 11th place finish. After finalizing the purchase of assets from Gale Force Racing, it seems Team Tsunopin are looking to position themselves as the next team to step up and join the elite class among the NSSCRA's Multiversal Cup Series.

Shwedagon's Blessings 350, Round and Round The Pagoda, Yangon, Valentine Z :: After the thrill of having gotten an early season victory under their belt for Rockii Ezis, then going to a new track in the outskirts of Zavanjë and placing two cars inside the top 6, it was only natural for the Novorali Enterprises in partnership with VilBev Everlong Contenders series team to experience a bit of a corrective dose of reality. That would come in a big way during the Shwedagon's Blessings 350 Round and Round The Pagoda in Yangon, Valentine Z. Things had already started out not-so-pleasantly for the team when they failed to place any cars inside the Top 15 during qualifying. More nerve-wrackingly, it was a narrow escape for Lotara Novorali who could only muster the 40th fastest time in the pole qualifying session and barely avoided an embarrassing DNQ that could have greatly upset her consistently earned position in the Everlong Contenders Series point standings.

While things did not go great for the team on race day, there is still a vast difference between a 0-point weekend after failing to qualify and a 26th place struggle in a barely-competitive car. In fact, it was the 20-something points earned that would make the difference between in the projected playoff spaces and out of them for Novorali when the checkered flag fell, keeping on the positive side of the points line as the half-way point of the regular season approaches next week in TJUN-ia.

Either side of Novorali across the finish line was Ezis and Turakki Mayelli. Mayelli has seen a performance drop this season that seemed to directly correspond with the reduction in funding from Mayelli's long-time sponsor the Turoki Island Tourism board and their "Visit TI" campaign. A vast reduction in tourism to the once flourishing Island and a reduced on track budged sees Mayelli lingering back in 30th in the NSSCRA Everlong Contenders Series standings while their two teammates each sit positioned well for a playoff berth. In fact, the situation with cash-flow from the Turoki Island tourism board has reportedly become so dire that the team has been rumored to be exploring alternate options to keep the #41 car on track, including renting the car - and its driver seat to its corporate affiliate the Vilisorma Beverage Company as a Vilaye EnergySport driver pipeline entry. When asked directly about that possibility, Lotara Novorali themselves offered no comment and politely redirected the conversation space to focus on her own duties as driver of the #49 Arcticala Electrical Dart.

It was a weekend to forget in Valentine Z across the board for Vilaye EnergySport and Novorali Enterprises while there wasn't much to get excited about in Tropicorp either. [Quebec and Shingoryeo]

Malo 'Bo' Boludo was having a difficult time adjusting to the DNF mark placed right next to his name in Yangon, Valentine Z. The Yangon race, a circular course that involved navigating through the golden, gilded pagoda the circuit's named after, he was used to, but he always had a hard time getting used to Valentine Z, the land of giants, interesting cuisine, and once again giants. It's something that's more than part of routine for those participating in international sports now, with the Valentians been among major names in basketball and motorsports, while their profile were growing in association football. Still, a visit to Valentine Z was something that he, who felt older and older each passing moment, was not particularly used to.

It wasn't helped by some of the team staff, which included his wife Charlotte, deciding to fly back under an emergency situation back in the GreGG's Team Salamantel headquarters. Bo, who vaguely remembered the accounts that Charlotte and othrs had talked about, did his best to not think too about it, always believing in staying out of the HQ business and focusing on the drive. Even then, however, the team's struggles made it difficult for him to ignore the absences, especially with how Alejandro Rusegara and Martine Capucin, both drivers who had better qualification runs in past, struggled and crashed out of the day one race.

'How do you feel about the GTS's collective struggles today?' local interviewer asked sometime after the race on a quick interview. With other two not present for the occasion, it was all left up to Bo. 'This week definitely wasn't the finest, especially after stronger forms before. Your best performance was in Edmonstik, where you placed thirteenth, and other two have shown decent potential. Do you think that's one-off or a sign for more to come?'

'It's definitely a sign for what's to come, I agree,' answered Bo. 'We have a good team of guys who are slightly under the weather, and who I believe have much more to come. I also believe that my performance in Edmonstik is not an one-off, and that plenty could be built into having a string of improvements across the board.'

'Thank you, and what do you think are the measures that need to take place to improve it?' the interviewer asked.

'It's just finding ourselves back in the gap. First we have to get more guys in the qualification spot, and then build up our performances from there. Unlike in the past seasons we seem to be more in track with that, so yes, we just have to get there indeed, thank you.' Bo answered, before leaving the circuit.

Races in Hafamarimët Will Be Shortened Next Season

Races at the Žavanjë SpeedDome will be shorter when NSSCRA visits Hafamarimët next season. Spokespeople from Ihëdïl Vunganči Motoru, the Motor Worker's Union, announced today that, due to the physical demands the track's unique shape places on drivers, the Multiversal Cup race will run for 250 laps, half the distance of the race this past December. It wasn't always a common occurrence where all three racers of Team Tsunopin, let alone this combination of racers, would be on the top half of the circuit, especially considering all the troubles that seemed to follow them on and off the circuit, but for Thea, Ilya and Cocoabo #28 this was the good time to enjoy and work out possible plans. While they were unsure if the future races would see more of these situations, Ilya's maturing form and C28 being among the best third racers a team could find were more than helpful as they winded down in the final laps of the race.

'So what's the plan?' Thea talked to Ilya on team-wide mic, as she found herself in a four-car group of hometown favourite Eveline, Aprilian Nimrac and TJUN-ian Michael Stefan with Aphrilian phenom Rivier, Tsering and Tropicorp's Jixaka Motorai just right behind. 'Ilya, I need some decoy. Send me something.'

'Let me figure something out, I know C-28 was trying something,' Ilya answered, as he tried his best to check out the orange, Tropicorp-fonted button that Curtis Kirby, his childhood friend, former fellow NSSCRA racer and now spouse to Cocoabo #28, had placed. Previously Ilya heard about the test runs C28 had with them, and asked if Curtis if he could get it installed. But never did he feel the need for it, mostly because he placed too poorly on qualification stage or simply wasn't finding the right timing for it on race proper.

But now was the time to try something. Ilya's form wasn't exactly outstanding in the end, at least not enough to push him into the top ten, and he knew he could play it a bit more safely. That way perhaps him and C28 could work something out to at least give them finishes just outside that. It's not their perfect day, but at least something to look forward to.

With this in mind, Ilya pressed the gigantic orange button on the stereo section, as it screamed out the famous phrase Ilya would shout on microphone at the start of every race:

'WO AI NI QIANG KAI!'

'Go go, get it,' said Ilya, as he watched the group ahead of him slightly rattled. Thea, perhaps unfased by all the antics they had been working up to this point, went on and entrenched herself into that group as they went on. 'Is this good?'

'You son of bitch it did,' Thea answered, as she went ahead with the rest of the group. She would stay the rest of the way there, finishing at respectable seventh place. With this being her second consecutive top ten finish, a season-first for the Kanyean racer where she had managed to string together decent form, perhaps more's to look forward in mean time though Thea, who was aware of the explosive option they had used, mostly refrained from commenting much on media.

'It's just the race at the end of the day,' Thea answered. 'Now my next goal is to go for a top five and beyond, keep it up so that I'll be back on the Chase again and beyond. Go Gale Force- I mean Team Tsunopin!'

Return of the Stars

After many more races now each of our respective drivers stands in a reasonable position as we as newcomers are ofcourse not as experienced as many of the established teams are way more experienced then we are.
Next up the schedule is Quebec and Shingoryeo an interesting nation with various cultures and a good racing background, there is much praise in The1 4 Stars for the Everlong drivers and how far they have gotten right now.
Arthur Frost in 16th is surprisingly placed highest among our everlong drivers which was quite the shock, he originally wasnt seen as the biggest competitor but he certainly has proved himself in due time and seems also eager to next year make a step ahead.

On the other hand are there concerns about Liangmei Li, word would come out that it doesnt seem to go well between her and her team fueled by the fact that she seems to miss her home country and culture very much.
It is concerning, Liangmei Li had been seen as the veteran that had to lead the charge for the Starsians however that plan never came off the ground and it seems that this reality at last has also caught up with Li, its unclear how the team and by extension the team owner are looking to this they were asked to comment but respectfully chose not to comment.

Lola Grant after a fair race on her part was asked to comment about the situation around Li and she said the following ''Well its clear she doesnt feel as happy in our country as we would have hoped for thats for sure.
However thats also kinda how it is with The 14 Stars its 11,8 billion people its not just a small country its busy, fast and very chaotic and if you didnt grow up with that......well yeah then it might not be the best fit thats for sure.
Though we as teammates with all of our hearts will continue to support Li throughout the season and we hope that she can in the latter part of the season pick up the pace and at last really show the multiverse once more why shes such a great person.''

Lola Grant basically admitted what we already knew and this also raises the questions about Li's position within the team, there is much speculation but nothing formally has been released its all just rumours.
For now she prepares for the next race along with Lola Grant and ofcourse also Joshua Fuentes Jr who hasnt made any impression yet since he simply didnt get the chance to do so, its not that hes a bad driver but he just simply always ends up with the worst car of the three.
When he was asked about the whole situation around him he was pretty laid back stating that he does what he can with the equipment he gets but he also confirmed that a better car would certainly do wonders for him.
His father who is also on his team affirms this saying that the whole team is still behind him and that ofcourse its quite the setback but that they also do their very best to remain motivated and try to stay focused on whats ahead of them instead.

[Abanhfleft]

Rustam Yudin had been in a foul mood ever since the start of the 16th season of NSSCRA. It was the first time that he had been in such a bad mood to kick off any sort of racing season; at least this was the first time that he could remember ever feeling this surly about everything. Not even in that terrible, horrible, not-so-good Season 15 did Rustam feel like shit right from the beginning. Things definitely went to shit last season, but Rustam still remembered feeling slightly optimistic about his and the team’s chances to get into the playoffs once again before all of the issues with the tires and the engines popped up and everything went straight down the toilet. This season though was different. Rustam did not feel good at all about his chances, and UrGa’s chances as a whole, of being able to turn around their fortunes and become a challenger to the top teams in NSSCRA and maybe even fill the gap left behind by the departure of the Kanyeans.

If Rustam was being honest with himself, his foul mood wasn’t all rooted around the fact that UrGa had been poor in the past season. After all, he had started the year (the actual calendar year, not the NSSCRA season which is also usually referred to as a “year” by most driver) by receiving some of the worst possible news that he could receive: his native Ceroat could very well be on the verge of collapsing on itself once again after a series of deadly terrorist attacks across Novy Nish, “temporary” capital of the Union of Ceroat killed over three hundred people. Bryan Kurchatov, one of the last remaining warlords still running loose in the Ceroatian countryside, had claimed responsibility for the bombings as part of a campaign to destabilize Miroslav Riley’s administration. The knowledge that three hundred of his fellow countrymen had died at the hands of another Ceroatian hurt Rustam, but not as much as the knowledge that his friend and fellow racing driver Pyotr Lavrentiev had decided to give up his dream in order to pursue both justice and revenge against Kurchatov and his cronies. Lav’s family had been among those killed by Kurchatov’s bombs, and Lav had sworn that he was going to bring down each and every single one responsible for the bombings even if it took him the rest of his life. Because of this, Rustam was now the last Ceroatian still active in the top stock car series in the multiverse, and he could already feel the massive pressure on his shoulders even before the start of the season.

As the longer tenured driver in the team, Rustam had gotten the guaranteed charter allotted to UrGa, meaning that he was always going to be part of the races no matter what. However, his performances hadn’t necessarily reflected his “veteran” status, what with him picking up three consecutive finishes outside the top 30 to start off the season. And it could very well have been five consecutive races outside the top 30 for Rustam had it not been for a decent (for his recent standards anyway) 16th place finish at the Toys ‘4’ All 500 in Lonngeylin. Rustam wanted to believe that his frustration at his previous results had boiled over to the point that he may or may have not taken it out on the other cars on the track, and because Lonngeylin was a short track no one really noticed that he was just slamming into other people left and right. But that wasn’t to be the first step in the right direction for him just yet; no, Rustam would still have to suffer the indignity of being the first driver to fail to finish the race in Hafamarimët, and it was all thanks to its unconventional and, in Rustam’s opinion at least, frankly dangerous square-shaped track. In any case, if the crash hadn’t got to him first then the nature of Zavanjë itself would have probably done him in instead.

And Rustam really couldn’t have picked a worse time to go through some of the worst form that he had ever gone through in his racing career. During the offseason, amid the controversy surrounding his now-former teammate Wilma von Cärinthen’s decision to take another “mental health break” from the series, UrGa had decided that they would rather have a driver who would actually stick with the team through thick and thin and not just down tools whenever they wanted (or at least that was what Rustam had heard), and that driver turned out to be the Hamptonian model-turned-racer Lexi Patterson. Rustam himself had no problem with Lexi; maybe he did have a problem with the way that she had entered the sport but he didn’t have a problem with her as a person. But Rustam had also heard the rumors that Lexi’s hiring was the work of a certain “financial advisor”, and Rustam had been with UrGa for long enough to know that if it was the Old Man who had brought Lexi into the fold then she was now a permanent fixture in the team. Not even an act of God would be strong enough to force her out so long as Yakov Yurievsky was around.

And neither Yurievsky nor UrGa itself for that matter really had any reason to kick Lexi out of the team so far, what with her showing up her teammate in practically every race of the season up to this point. Lexi didn’t have a guaranteed charter as the junior driver in UrGa, but one would be forgiven for not even knowing that if they only looked at the way that she was turning in hot laps during qualifying. So far, Lexi had only failed to qualify into two races out of the seven ran in the season, and barring a slightly flukey result in Kimi-Suomi, she had been collecting top 20 finishes left and right. Compared to Rustam, who had had only one finish in the top 20 in the season, one could say that Lexi Patterson was absolutely kicking Rustam Yudin’s ass.

Rustam had never been through anything like it. This season was supposed to be the season that UrGa left behind all of the troubles of last year and embarked on a resurgence that would put them back among the contenders for the championship, or at the very least get themselves back into contention for at least a race win or two. But that hadn’t been the case, and maybe Rustam really shouldn’t have been surprised. UrGa almost always got off to a slow start, and it was almost a toss-up if the team was going to be able to turn things around midway through the regular season or not. No doubt that Season 15 was the worst one for the Pridnestrovian outfit though, and Rustam couldn’t help but feel bad because he just couldn’t do anything to turn the ship around. And the way that his campaign was going this season, he might as well just not be in the car driving for all that he was doing in the series this year.

Rustam Yudin didn’t have a lot of things going his way right now; some might even say that nothing was going Rustam’s way at the moment. And for someone like him who was in quite a shitty mood at the moment, going to Valentine Z may not have been the best course of action. He couldn’t do anything about it, of course; Valentine Z was on the NSSCRA calendar and thus it was unavoidable. But Rustam was just not in the mood to entertain an entire nation (some would say an entire dimension) full of eternally positive people. Some people, when they were feeling down, would want to be in someplace like Valentine Z in order to get rid of the “bad vibes” and get some good juju back into their system. Rustam just wanted to get back to racing already. And there was now a non-zero chance that things could get delayed after some bastard in a dog costume somehow managed to make their way past security and into the drivers’ briefing room. Whoever it was underneath the costume was doing some sort of dance, and somehow they had managed to rope Rinzi Zakhilwal into dancing with them as well.

“Can someone get that guy out of here already?” Rustam asked no one in particular. Not that they would have probably heard him anyway because it seemed as if everyone else’s attention was now on the dancing dog mascot. “Hey! Someone get this asshole out of here already! We got a meeting to start and places to be! Someone! Anyone! Hello?!”

At least he wasn’t the only one who looked like they weren’t amused by what was going on. A lot of other drivers were looking at the dancing dog and wondering why no one was doing anything to kick out the obvious intruder from the drivers’ briefing. But there were also at least some people who found the whole thing funny. One of those people was Rustam’s teammate Lexi Patterson, and while she wasn’t cheering the mascot on or laughing at its antics, she was still smiling. “Calm down!” Lexi told Rustam when she noticed that her teammate was having none of it. “It’s just a mascot! I’m sure someone’s going to get them out of here sooner or later.”

“Yeah, well, they’re not doing it fast enough,” Rustam shot back. “It’s a fucking drivers’ briefing, for God’s sake!” he called out again. “Who thought letting this guy in was a good idea?! Get him out of here so we can get started already!”

Eventually, some of the Valentian track officials finally got around to escorting the dog mascot out of the premises, but not before it had finally managed to do the unthinkable and make a Valentian shout in a non-positive manner. “PLEASE SIT DOWN SO WE CAN START THE MEETING!” the Valentian bellowed, but still the mascot kept dancing and distracting everyone else. It wasn’t until the mascot was physically dragged away and out of the room that order was finally restored. “Yeah, that’s right, get him the fuck outta here!” Rustam yelled as two Valentians escorted the dog mascot out of the briefing. “Go fuck around with someone else!”

It wouldn’t be until after the briefing that Rustam would find out that the person in the dog costume was actually none other than the defending NSSCRA champion Drake Stevenson. By that point though, Rustam didn’t really care if the man in the dog costume was a NSSCRA champion or the president of Ceroat himself. He just wanted to get the briefing done and over with so he could get back out there on the track and figure out what the hell was going wrong with his car and his driving.

[Quebec and Shingoryeo]

The Mont-Saint-Sulpice Circuit is happy to host the second edition of the Spiritar 400, the second ever NSSCRA Multiversal race to be hosted in the Quebecois soil. It is not the second overall however, with the Baie-Verte Speedway in Baie-Verte, Joongyeong Federal Province, having already hosted the Everlong race last year in the same weekend as Guilin race late into the NSSCRA 14 season. Unlike Baie-Verte, which is a speedway located about half an hour outside of the nation's capital, the Multiversal race will be held in Mont-Saint-Sulpice, located about twelve hours northeast of Joongyeong by train and two hours by plane.

Mont-Saint-Sulpice: A mountainous track complex located in Mont-Saint-Sulpice at around 1500m high in altitude, Mont-Saint-Sulpice does get hilly at various points due to the nature of the circuit, which was built around and between the ridges to minimise environmental damage. Nicknamed 'The Smoky Hell' in honour of the Lesser Smoky Mountains located on this part of the country, as well as the natural difficulty of the circuit, it is capable to be used under both open and stock wheel racing and possesses top-class infrastructure. The location's co-ownership between the Government of Nord-Est province and the indigenous peoples of the region would also mean that the festivities will also incorporate various celebrations and events over the course of the weekend.

Transportation: As for the transportation, Mont-Saint-Sulpice is located halfway between medium-sized cities of Myeongju (traditionally known more for winter sports and East coast fishing) and Songwha City (inland, lakeside city) with around 6-8 hours required by bus or train. The nearest domestic/regional airport is in Myeongju or Songwha City, but international travellers may have an easier time travelling by going straight to Joongyeong (Reneegrad International Airport) or Iqaluit, where no shortage of connecting flights would be made available, and then take the railway or drive significantly longer distance into Mont-Saint-Sulpice. Mont-Saint-Sulpice does have a mainline railway station about 500m away from the track, with twice daily service available on usual times - charter services will be added on top. Shuttle services will also be provided upon request.

For the visiting NSSCRA teams, Mont-Saint-Sulpice circuit follows the general line of advisory that is recommended when they travel into isolated and/or higher altitude circuits. It is also advised that visitors avoid driving into or out of Mont-Saint-Sulpice circuit due to safety reasons posed by the Highway 2. Stretching northeast from Joongyeong to Iqaluit, the four-lane highway has drawn particular reputation for questionable track conditions and unexpected appearances of wildlife.

Vendors: All sponsors of the GreGG's Team Salamantel - that being GreGG's Restuarants, Spiritair, Salamantel, Sowha, HomeSens and Centennial Bank - will be featuring a vendor booth of their own. Same level of vendor availability will be extended to all companies with major NSSCRA sponsorships or investment.

Media Use and Availability: The Federation Quebecoise de l'Automobile (FQA) mandates all participating racers to attend Saturday's pre-race press conference, whether it be at Baie-Verte or Mont-Saint-Sulpice. While it does not propose a participation ban or explicit fine of racers who refuse to do so on their discretion, the FQA advises the NSSCRA body to reflect this should this problem does arise. The FQA, however, will not be raising a particular concern about racer conduct barring those that involve direct physical harm of the opponent, a specific mention that was introduced following Malo 'Bo' Boludo's Kung-Fu kick towards Ilya Tsunopin two NSSCRA seasons ago.

The Quebecois Government also advises the participating teams and visitors that the use of Twi.tur is permitted in the Quebecois soil.

Home. Part 1. Here in TJUN-ia, we are lucky enough to be able to host two NSSCRA T1 races on several occasions in our history, a testament to how committed we have been to the sport since the first TJUN 600 and how successful these events have been in the eyes of the NSSCRA schedule makers. It certainly has been a fun ride year to year, but this season promises to be the craziest of them all - with both TJUN-ian events happening five weeks apart as the battle for the Chase starts to ramp up in both tiers of NSSCRA. Last time out in Yangon, Drake Stevenson helped revive an old children's tv show in the space of two days...so what could Wollongmatta Bay possible do to try and top that?

Race of Oceania Lite Qualifying
Because of this being a home weekend, we have to segment it like this so that the full story of the weekend can be told the way it should be. After all the press conferences that usually accompany the Friday of a race weekend, qualifying for the Lite would go down in the afternoon. Eddie Suzuki would end up on pole in the Manufano Islands over Colin Meredith and Prince Edmund Flanders but the locals and friends of the locals would follow soon enough - with Prince Axel Chase in 4th, Kaarina Salo in 5th, Gongming Gao in 6th, Olavi Vile Ruusuvuori in 10th, Princess Alice Jepkosgei in 11th and Georg Lundberg all the way down in P39 after a bit of sliding at the end of the Brabham Straight.

Race of Oceania Qualifying
Saturday was always going to be packed, especially in the stands, and up first would be Qualifying for the big one itself. After dominating in Yangon, King Drake started out on the right track with pole over Taylor Stevenson (née Henderson, per TJUN-ian law and what was written over her garage) and Eveline Gwen Tracer Allison Oxton Hepburn with Kaiser Michael Stefan in 5th, hometown hero Maddison Riley-Jones in P24 and Alfonso Mercado down in P30 with work to do. Over at HM, Ilmari Pëkannen continued his good form in P8 while Lam Chow-Cheung is 14th and Aurélia Karvonen 19th. Joining them in this race would be Cocoabo #28 (P11), Christian Nimrac (P13), Nathaniel Van De Soubre (P15), Lexi Patterson (P17), Ilya Tsunopin (P18), Ongmu Yeti (P21), Koshiro Kawai (P22) and Sayoko Noda (P23). Both of the MRO's charter requests went through, so Prince Robin Dragonovic starts from P26 while the winner of the Lite will enter in P46.

Race of Oceania Lite
And so, onto the Lite - the first T2 race here under that name. The Opening Ceremony, "Children of Pasifika", set the mood for what felt like a happy return of the EverLong Contender's Series to the Manufano Islands, before the official stuff went down and both Maddy and Robin stepped up to give the order to start. This race would end up being quite attritional, with eight drivers (including Alex Remington) not even making it back...which did soften the blow a little bit for AxChase, who didn't have fun out there and ended up in 30th. Everyone else in the Ddraig division was certainly fighting out there but in the end, it would be Michelle Kass Evelyn Vítková Pavlína who claimed the title over OVR and Prince Flanders in an epic race for those in the stands. Salo ended up in 5th, Lundberg put up a brilliant drive to end up in 8th, while both Gao and AJ managed to get Top 15. All in all, a very good race. The newly-crowned Princess Michelle XII of the Jungle, 2nd Squire of the Ocean, would race on Sunday.

Race of Oceania
And so, onto Sunday. The day began with poignancy as, for the very first time, Dreamtime UO opened the show to officially start the build up to this race. Representatives, both Aboriginal and Pasifika, would end up completing their Long Walk to reveal their own Dreamtime before the drivers on the grid acknowledged the Welcome to Country for the very first time. Once dismissed, Dreamtime UO III would do its own thing leading into the Opening Ceremony of the race itself, which was paired back due to Dreamtime's importance. MRJ, from the driver's seat of the #03 would end up giving her 2nd Order of the weekend...and the engines roared.

Just like their T2 counterparts, eight drivers would DNF from this race - with Princess Michele herself, Ilmari and Rustam Ilyich Yudin among that number - but above them, things were certainly mixed up. Dragonovic came home in 31st, LCC was mostly quiet in P24 and both Stevensons, despite locking out the front row and looking pretty good in the middle of this race, didn't even make Top 12. People were entering this race thinking it was the Stevensons vs NSSCRA...but that didn't happen. Instead, what we got was revenge. Karvonen with another Top 10, cermenting herself as a contender for the Top 16. The Kaiser in P6, maintaining his position as the points leader. And then there was Meracdo. In the first ever Race of Oceania, only Drake denied him his maiden win. Four years later, he finally got his own glory on home soil. He beat Clarissa Alanis Star Samantha Harumi and Thea Alvarez to the line, claiming his first-ever win on home soil. Tears...so many tears. So to recap:
- Three Ddraigs in the Top 10
- Ddraig now leads the NSSCRA Manufacturer's Championship by 2 points
- All hail Alfonso X, King of the Jungle, 3rd Knight of the Ocean. Long may he reign alongside Michael III.

Halftime. Eight races down, eight to go in this regular season. Things are heating up alright! It will be Quebec next - the Speedway in Baie-Verte for T2, the Circuit Internationale de Mont-Saint-Sulpice for T1. So much has happened already...what in the fuck is coming now?

Hello, my name is Mätiyäs Eskolinen and, if you need any introduction, I consider myself an expert in all things moottoriurheilua Kimi-Suomessa...or so I claim. Every year, I come on here and try and predict the NSSCRA season - to mixed results, as you might expect. After one of the busiest offseasons since NSSCRA's revival, I put my money where my mouth was and tried to predict both divisions of NSSCRA as best as I could. Now that we are halfway through the regular season, from Tundra Falls to Wollongmatta Bay, how am I doing? Let's see...

"Bold, I know right?" I said when I put both LCC and Karvonen into my Chase. Eight races in, LCC has their golden ticket back and Karvonen is having the season of her NSSCRA career - being the last one in as things stand. Tsunopin is P26 but with Quebec up next, expect a late charge from him. As for Gilli'i...Fitz Motors, in general, are having a sophomore slump as evidenced by the fact both Luxur and Kissan are ahead of them in the T1 NMC...and Lexi Patterson is basically dragging up Luxur at this point.

"These names may surprise, or could simply crash and burn." That's what this section means and for both Holly and Rivier, they are certainly cooking right now - especially Rivier, who has helped Dartsfield become almost more consistent than Team Tsunopin in the Chadwick camp. Tiones is in the same boat as Tizilna, though both of them may be helped by the fact Tropicoast is Round 16, and as for Umbra? She is consistent, mostly, and she's certainly shone at times...but she doesn't have the win at TMW.

Ouch. This section is certainly hard to read in some aspects. Calhoun is bogged down by Rocket, Rustam is being obliterated by his non-charter teammate (to the point Luxur should consider a swap), Kawai is doing slightly better, Marcus is doing alright on debut but is eons behind his teammates and as for Lola Grant? She's doing alright, just ahead of Gilli'i, but she's still raw and needs to find that consistency. But I have no doubts in a few years, she will be up there.

Yi Tan, motherfucking Yi Tan. No one, and I means NO ONE, could've seen him coming...ESPECIALLY at Round 2, in Kimi Kaupunki?! If you predicted Yi Tan in your Top 16, you are either lying or Margaret herself is speaking sweet nothings into your ears because I could NEVER have had the balls to say Yi Tan will make the Chase. Yi Tan will be competitive? Sure, but not the Top 16! But here we are...and so, he is here.

These bonus questions are looking interesting. On the one hand, Ilmari is certainly getting better and I think my prediction on him will hit. As for Preston, both tiers have turned into the Ddraig and Eveline show but Preston is only P3 in T1...just 48 points off the leaders. That's what happens when you don't visit Victory Lane until Yangon.

The biggest field in T2 history certainly hasn't underdelivered and HMT2 have done beautifully so far despite the chaos across the field. In a season where P28 Patricia nic Neill has won a race, HMT2 have Lundberg already locked in after the opening weekend and both Salo and OVR are projected to comfortably make it in...but considering Axel Chase missed out in P6 last time, caution is still advised. As for T2's NMC, Eveline are leading Ddraig by 11 points and that gap has been growing since they took the lead in Zavanjë. Ddraig is going to have to beat Eveline at their own game to beat them at this point but with 18 races still to go, it is still anyone's game.

And that's where we're at. Some hits, some misses - just like always. Which picks will age the best out of those yet to come true? Only time will tell. See you in Tropicoast!

[Aji No Moto]

It seems that unless Asami Hishida wins the Everlong race in Quebec and Shingoryeo, Masamune Gensai would drive the #08 car in the Multiversal race in Sankyoku Triangle.

Missing two Everlong races compared to Gensai's one was one of the factors in Hishida being so low in the Everlong standings compared to her teammates in Gensai, and Seigo Kawagishi. A more concerning fact is that even Masamune is behind the son of the CEO of Kawagishi Steel, and the latter is just two spots below the playoff cut line, meaning that both KISMO academy drivers may need another season in the second level of NSSCRA competition to prepare for the Multiversal Series.

KISMO has not released their plans for NSSCRA 17, whether they will keep the two-car operation intact with a third team requesting open charters during the season or have three full-time teams. Sponsorship is currently an issue, where several races of the #0 team is self-sponsored by Kissan Motors. There have been no rumors yet whether Kawagishi Steel would want to field a team separate from the #0 team, but insider info have them telling KISMO management to field a full-time team for their driver Seigo if he makes the playoffs.

Also there has been a rambling rumor from Gergarian news outlets that some of the sponsors from the #72 team of Barnabas Mate would want to move from DMKR to the main KISMO team, bringing Barney along with them to create a new team. This rumor makes sense from a financial standpoint for KISMO as they would benefit in terms of sponsorship, but the issue remains of only having one GTD charter for next season, unless both Tsuneyuki Hamamoto, and Sayoko Noda, make the playoffs this season.

Nothing is set in stone yet for both KISMO and DMKR for next season, but the rumors have started to fill up the imagination of race fans in Aji No Moto and Gergary.

Pt. III of III
"...And now for the grid positions of the upcoming Spiritair Classic! Michael Stefan in pole, a tenth ahead of..."

Those were the words of one of the four hired people that Dartsfield has for their exclusive race coverage on their own newly built streaming service. That was what the whole recruitment thing was truly all about. Emilia McEarnest was one of the four people that got hired from the final fifteen, and she got the role for qualifying coverage and post-race analysis. She hails from the sub-urban areas of Darlingtown, growing up near a factory that produces and manufactures cars. Her love for the races came later.

"We should be nearly done for the day, just wait until Emilia is done and we can go back to rest, right ain't it Sven?" One person asked another in the break room behind the stage for the broadcast. The one asking the question was Jimmy Carls-Kenneth, who got the role of pre-race coverage and one of the two that were given the position of interviewer whenever the four would be able to actually go to the actual race tracks for coverage. He's a chill dude, takes things easy and doesn't really mind a lot of things.

Which is much more of a good thing considering how crazy and wacky NSSCRA can often become.

"Yes." Answered the one that was given the question, Sven Holmer. Sven is a very quiet guy, not really the type of person you would expect to become a commentator, but he got one of the live race coverage roles. He's a man obsessed wit data beneath that veil of coldness and secrecy of his, and seeing that data transform into performance in real time is what gets him excited. And unlike most people when it comes to fixations of data and numbers, he actually likes it when an anomaly of information appears.

From upset wins to shocking retirements, he enjoys when what is expected ends up not happening. Sven also has the credentials to back him up, which was apparently according to him, "the ultimate deciding factor on if he was accepted for the job." He added on to the conversation, asking, "Perhaps we can eat together before we leave then reconvene... Danny?"

Yes, our boy Danny Renchell got the job. He's the other half of the live race coverage, and Dartsfield guaranteed that he would still be allowed to write his own reports and articles about racing without limiting it to stock cars. However, they did give him a stern wording, saying that he must be careful and not take the freedom regarding this part of the job for granted. "Of course" was his response. This was his way of paying the bills, he'll do his absolute best not to lose this lifeline immediately.

"Sure, we can go and eat after this." Danny responded. Sven merely gave a nod and Jimmy gave a good chuckle. The four of them would be working together for their time at SRW, afterall. Eating together after work seems to be a good way to get to know each other further. And as they were talking about eating and food, the bell within the production studio rang. This signaled that Emilia was done for the day. After the bell finished ringing, Danny gave a few looks at the two before saying,

"Come on now, let's get ready to leave. Emilia will surely appreciate some good food after today."

HAP PRESIDENT BOOTH TO SNUB HAPEX RACES

HAPILOPPER CITY – In his daily press availability today, Hapiloppian President Brett Booth said “under no circumstances” would he appear at the motor racing portion of the Hapilopper-Esportiva Exhibition.

Booth said he is not a fan of auto racing and will be doing other things with his time instead of participating in the festivities at the annual Exhibition.

“Auto racing represents everything we need to fix about this country,” Booth said. “And I came in with the notion that I am going to fix this country. We don’t need our image being 250,000 drunken yahoos watching a bunch of cars go around in circles for five hours. And we don’t need our national hero being a fat race car driver that everyone loves because he swears a lot and drives a car fast.”

Drake Stevenson, the two-time defending NSSCRA champion, said he took that comment as a personal attack against him and against the sport of racing.

“I’m not really sure where Mr. Booth gets off taking a swipe at me when I haven’t done anything to him,” Stevenson said over the phone from the NSSCRA race in Quebec. “And he really needs to watch what he says. A bunch of those 250,000 drunken yahoos voted for him last year for some reason.”

Booth’s snub of the HapEx motor races will mark the first time since 1943, the first year auto racing appeared at the Exhibition, that the Hapiloppian President will not be a part of the motorsport festivities.

His direct predecessor, William Mathis, made sure to be a key figure in the festivities, giving the traditional command to start engines at the Exhibition 500 NSSCRA race, the biggest event of HapEx.

Mathis, who now serves as the director of the HOT-DAMN territory in Anaia, was in Hapilopper City meeting with Booth.

“His decision to publicly snub the races at HapEx is a mistake,” Mathis said. “He’s wanting to improve the image of us as a whole, but he shouldn’t do so by trying to trash the one thing Hapiloppians love more than anything else. A ton of people watch racing, so if he’s trashing them all as a bunch of drunk yahoos, it’s not going to end well for him.”

BERMAN BROS. CLASSIC RETURNS THIS YEAR; EXPANDED TO MULTI-DAY EVENT

HAPILOPPER CITY – The very popular Berman Bros. Classic, being held as part of the Hapilopper-Esportiva Exhibition, is being expanded into a multi-day event.

The entries for the Classic will be divided into five days, with a main event each of those five days to determine a guaranteed starting spot in the 100-lap Berman Bros. Classic on Saturday night.

“It’s a necessity,” said Claude Berman of Berman Bros. Auto Dealers, sponsor of the race. “We’re expecting about 350 to 400 entries for the event, and we can’t have all of them on one day. So it’s going to be fun to see who competes when and where.”

In addition, instead of time trials, drivers will be randomly lined up in positions for heat races and awarded points based on where they finish. This “Passing Points” system is identical to the one used at the National Bowl midget race held at Capital Stadium each year. The drivers with the most passing points will be able to run in higher-up heat races on Saturday, giving them a better shot at competing in the $1,000,000-to-win A-Main.

Monday’s festivities will also include the Race of Champions, a 50-lap feature to be held after the Monday A-Main, to determine a guaranteed starting spot for Saturday’s feature.

Eligible competitors include all NSSCRA Multiversal Cup and Everlong Contenders Series champions, past winners of the Exhibition 500 and the NSSCRA Dirt 300, past winners of the Berman Bros. Classic in the NSSCRA era, as well as former World Grand Prix and World Stage Rally champions.

In addition, Berman also announced the “Caldwell/Chow-Cheung Award” for the driver that makes the deepest run in the lengthy alphabet soup of heat races on Saturday. The award, named for Sage Caldwell and Lam Chow-Cheung, two drivers that have made lengthy soup runs in the past, will guarantee the winner of that award a spot in the Last Chance Qualifier, should they not make it, giving them another spot to make the Saturday night A-feature.

HAPILOPPIAN PARLIAMENT OVERWHELMINGLY APPROVES EV BAN, BOOTH VETOES IT

HAPILOPPER CITY – The Hapiloppian Parliament appears headed for a showdown with new President Brett Booth after he vetoed a hotly-discussed electric vehicle ban.

The bill would ban the sale, manufacture, import and operation of electric vehicles in Hapiloppian territories, which include both Hapilopper in Esportiva and the HOT-DAMN territory in Anaia.

Citing strains on the country’s power grid, as well as safety and environmental concerns, bill writer Janet Kitchens, a Conservative from Pinkerton, said the electric vehicle ban was of utmost importance to get passed.

“It is said that constructing an electric vehicle is more damaging for the environment than one powered by an internal combustion engine,” Kitchens said. “The extraction of the materials needed does more environmental harm. Further, we have seen a troubling number of electric vehicle fires in Hapilopper in the last year, fires that our firefighters here are unable to control.”

In a statement released today, Booth said he was going to veto the bill.

“We should not be discouraging our automakers from introducing new technology, particularly since we should be moving away from the current technologies,” Booth said. “I am disappointed in the actions of Parliament and hope they can reconsider.”

Electric vehicles in Hapilopper have a stigma attached to them. The 2004 Preston ElectroChief nearly sank the company and is considered the worst Hapiloppian car ever built. Major Motors attempted an electric vehicle of their own, but was introduced to a hostile reception and was blamed for a string of fires in Hapilopper, leading to the carmaker both canceling future sales and recalling every single one of their cars.

The ban is reportedly supported by each of Hapilopper’s big five automakers, as well as the utility lobby. Parliament is expected to override the veto this week.
